Speaker 1 (00:00):
It's time to get inside the Giants Hut.

Speaker 2 (00:02):
Let's go.

Speaker 3 (00:03):
Let's go Giants on the Giants Bubbling, give me some job,
part of the Giants podcast Network.

Speaker 1 (00:09):
Let's row.

Speaker 4 (00:10):
Welcome to another edition of the Giants Shuttle Podcast, brought
to you by Citizens Official Bank of the Giants. John
Smoke with you. We are in the Hackensack Merite Health
podcast studio, keep getting better, and today we're joined by
a good friend of mine, former NFL scout, a guy
I love talking draft with. Be done for a really
long time. From one O five through the fan in
Dallas and the Draft show on Dallas Cowboys dot Com.

Speaker 1 (00:32):
The one and only Brian brought us. Brian, what's up.

Speaker 2 (00:34):
Man, John? It's good to be with you. It's what
is it like a tradition like no other.

Speaker 3 (00:39):
We just got done with the masters, but here you
and I are talking draft together on the on the
Giants podcasting uh, And it's exciting. I love being with you,
I love visiting with you, and I love your insight.
And Giant fans are extremely lucky to have you covering
their football team for sure.

Speaker 1 (00:56):
Yeah, and I love learning from all your scouting experience. Brian.

Speaker 4 (01:00):
And then the Cowboy fans are lucky to kind of
understand from you what this process is like.

Speaker 1 (01:05):
And I always like to start a process with you.

Speaker 4 (01:07):
So we're recording this the Monday, two Mondays before the
drafts are about ten days out from from week one.
Some teams probably have already had their scouts on and
their boards are close to finalized. Others are in the
process of it. What is this process like for a
scout in a GM as they try to put the
finishing touches on their boards.

Speaker 2 (01:25):
Yeah, we're into the final week.

Speaker 3 (01:26):
Really, We've got a couple of these pro days that
are coming down or guys are working out, and I,
you know, with Will Johnson from Michigan, Dallas Cowboys are
obviously in the mix for you know, looking for a
corner if you ask me, you know, cornerback, running back,
wide receiver, defensive tackle. Those are all things that the

(01:47):
Cowboys are looking for. So they're interested in this Will
Johnson workout for Michigan. And I think everybody would like
to see a time on Will Johnson, you know, six'
two over two hundred. Pounds they would just like to,
have you, know, like, okay this is what his speed
is as compared to the other. Ones so you're kind
of holding on a couple of. Workouts you might be
holding on some, visits some thirty. VISITS i know That

(02:11):
Adam schefter was putting out today that there's some guys
that are still. Visiting we're getting to the point where
that's about to, stop you. Know so it's just kind
of really putting the finishing touches on some things that
maybe you were holding. On and a lot of, teams
as you, mentioned you, know are in the process right
now of putting together of their. Board by the end
of this, week they should be done with. That and

(02:32):
then what you could turn your attention to On monday
And tuesday of next week is maybe going through some
mock drafts and. Stuff we all love a good mock.
Draft we hate doing mock, drafts but we all love
a good mock, draft if you know WHAT i, mean
and they will go. THROUGH i used to WHEN i
was with The, COWBOYS i would run the mock draft
of The. COWBOYS i was in The pro personnel, department

(02:53):
AND i would hand all the scouts team needs and
we used to take back in the. Day Rick, goslin
very accomplished writer from The Dallas Morning. News back in the,
day he used To he used to talk to almost
every general. Manager his mock drafts were, incredible AND i
would take his top one hundred list AND i would, say,
listen we're not going to draft off our. Board we're

(03:16):
going to draft off his, board BECAUSE i felt like
it was more indictive of what the league was. Thinking
rick talked to every general. Manager every general manager was
open to discussing players with, Him SO i felt like
that he had a really good handle on what the
league was. Thinking so it's really easy when you have

(03:36):
your own, board you could just kind, of you, know
this is what we think this, is but you have
to think in a way of what the league is.
Thinking and that's why WHEN i would conduct the mock,
DRAFT i take our board out of, it and it
kind of made a little bit of a. Difference it
gave it a little bit different flavor, that, wow maybe
we think the guy that's there is not going to be.
There so you take a top one hundred, list you

(03:57):
take all the team, needs and the scouts do a
really good. JOB i gave each guy a couple of
teams to, draft and away you. Went and so, yeah
it was it's it's things you just you don't want
to have any, Surprises, john that's the whole. Thing you
never want to get caught off. Guard you want to
make sure that your conviction of the player you're. Stacked right,

(04:18):
NOW i have evaluated two hundred and thirty five. Players
i'm in the process right now of stacking those from
one to two thirty. Five teams are doing the same,
thing you, know with there to try and get an
idea where if you were to lose a player right
ahead of, you somebody trades, up then, okay who's the next?
Player and you Know dallas And i'm talking from the

(04:40):
experience Of dallas here on A giants, podcast But Zack
martin was selected that. Way you, know they Lost Ryan
shazier ahead of. Them Jerry jones stood, up, says, Wait
Johnny manziel is still on the. Board Scouts Stephen jones
at the, Time Jason garrett, said, no, Wait Zack martin's
our next, Player, Jerry let's not get crazy.

Speaker 2 (04:59):
Here so that's kind of where how this.

Speaker 3 (05:01):
Works so you'll you'll you'll work your mock, drafts you'll
make your. Calls now you'll call all the teams On
my job in the pro person note department was to
call all the teams and, say, listen if you were
interested in trading back or, up we're. Open please give
us a. Call you, know we're not going to sit
there and not take your. Call so you throw a
lot of chum in the. Water maybe talk to some

(05:22):
guys here and there about who they think will go.
WHERE i, KNOW i got some really good intel From
John bruden one time about the way the draft was
going in front of.

Speaker 2 (05:32):
Us one. Time he had had it wired pretty.

Speaker 3 (05:34):
Good so he just use all your, sources all your,
resources and you try and make sure that you have
everything buttoned up to when you get to That thursday.

Speaker 1 (05:42):
Night absolutely all.

Speaker 4 (05:44):
Right you mentioned a quarterback there The giants and number
three are okay in terms of this. Year, Right if
you go into a year right wolves name Is, Winston you're.
Fine but you still want a guy that you can
develop down the. Road So i'm gonna put the hat on, You.
BRIAN i want you to walk into the draft. Room
i'm The giants general. Manager tell me why The giants

(06:04):
should Select Shooter sanders a third, overall assuming Cam ward
is going to be off the.

Speaker 3 (06:08):
Board, YEAH i think the thing With sanders and, LISTEN
i went into this draft kind of thinking, that and
as much work AS i had done on you, know other,
players you do get to see quarterbacks throw the, ball
whether you're watching offense or. Defense you, know you're you
watch teams Play, colorado you watch teams Play Old, miss

(06:30):
so you get an idea of these. QUARTERBACKS i initially
thought that That Jackson dart was probably going to be
better than WHAT i thought was With. Sanders that wasn't
the case ONCE i went down to the. Start the
thing About Stuart sanders to me is that this guy
has faced more scrutiny than any other quarterback in the.
Country and he's. Poised he's, savvy he's. Confident you, know

(06:55):
you just go. BACK i Mean i've went back and
did Some Jackson state film on him just to, see
you know how he, uh you know how he's grown
as a. Quarterback he tends to throw his feet off,
balance but when he does set his, feet, uh the
ball comes out of his hand with some ace to.

Speaker 2 (07:12):
It. Uh you, know he tends to kind of drift around.

Speaker 3 (07:15):
In the pocket or back pedal too deep and you,
know maybe an unnecessary sack here and there on. That
but it's amazing how accurate he could be playing with
his platform being out of whack at, times and like
very similar to Camp ward At. Miami he'll make some
incredible throws moving to his. Left he has a feel
for how to get his hips, open his shoulder square

(07:35):
to the. Target he can you, know he can allow
these Simple he makes some simple throws and then he'll
make the most ungodly throw that you've ever.

Speaker 2 (07:44):
Seen and this, guy AS i, mentioned is.

Speaker 3 (07:47):
He he could he could beat you where THE i
think the arm talent is is. Good it's not in
the levels say of A Jalen milroe who has got
a cannon for an, arm but this guy.

Speaker 2 (08:00):
Can it's.

Speaker 3 (08:00):
Good and you, know he could beat you with his,
touch he could beat you with his, accuracy and he
could beat you throwing off platform and in THE nfl
to in this day and, age you, know it's that's
kind of where you need to. Be his quick, GAME
i think is. GOOD i think working With Pat, shermer
AND i know the probably giant fans are, not you,

(08:21):
know great to hear, that BUT i do think working
With Pat shermer has helped his. Game and you, know
there's kind of a playground element to his, game but
it works for.

Speaker 2 (08:31):
Him AND i.

Speaker 3 (08:32):
Think in THE nfl you have to have that ability
to be able to kind of playoff, schedule to play
off platform and be. Successful AND i think this is
what this guy has the capability of.

Speaker 2 (08:42):
Doing all, right good.

Speaker 4 (08:44):
Case now give me both sides of the and The
giants probably won't have this decision because odds are The
browns will pick one of these two. Guys if you're
sitting there and you're looking At Travis hunter and you're
looking At Abdul, carter or if you want to bring
a third guy into the, mix feel.

Speaker 1 (08:57):
Free what are you thinking if you don't go quarterback number?

Speaker 3 (09:00):
Three, Yeah and WHEN i started to stack my my,
NAMES i Had Travis hunter at the top of the.
Board now me, Personally, John i'm Playing Travis hunter at wide.
Receiver i'm not going to play him at. Corner, now
not to say THAT i won't do, that but this
is the kind OF i think he can affect the
game as a wide receiver more than he can as a.

Speaker 2 (09:21):
Corner that's just just HOW i feel about the.

Speaker 1 (09:24):
Player is that just because you would have his, hand
that he'd have the ball in his hands.

Speaker 2 (09:27):
MORE i think.

Speaker 3 (09:28):
THAT i think, that you, know you look at what
The giants were able to do with neighbors even last.
Year how you get him the? FOOTBALL i think that's you,
know you go into a game plan having an idea
about how you want to get your weapons. Involved AND
i think, that you, know you look at The bengals
and how they get their weapons. Evolved that's a tough

(09:48):
team to deal with when they have those two quality wide,
receivers AND i Think hunter could be the same. Way
this is my worry though About hunter playing both ways,
Though john he plays in a twelve game, season plays every.

Speaker 2 (10:02):
Snap saw him.

Speaker 3 (10:03):
AGAINST tcu on a miserably hot day here In Dallas
Fort worth over one hundred degrees play an entire football.
Game he is one hundred and eighty five pound. Guy,
okay he does that for twelve? Weeks could he do
that for seventeen? Weeks you're talking about will his body break?
Down you, know with having to play potentially five more
games and playing potentially both. WAYS i just feel, like to,

(10:27):
me when you get him at wide receiver or you
just use him as a, wide you train him just
to play that one, position and you, know some people might, say, well,
okay we'll use him some at corner or, whatever And
i'm you, know, fine. GREAT i just feel like though
the the where if you just made him a wide,
receiver he could be one of the. Best his ability to,

(10:47):
separate his ability to play on the, move his, explosiveness
his ability when they do cover him in tight red
zone and he gets down there and he can make
these acrobatic. Catches you, know it, is it. Is he's
got special traits and special. Talent you, KNOW i do
worry about him at one hundred and eighty five pounds
if they do want to use them both. Ways you,

(11:07):
KNOW i think he is going to get war. Down he,
again he's his body can handle the college, season can't
handle the pro. Season playing that, Well he's going to
lose weight as the season goes. Along play in that.
Way so to, me just keep him at that one.
Spot and you, know but he's got a. Chance like,
say the hands are. Incredible you, know people were kind
of making fun of the route running and stuff like

(11:28):
that with him and the. Workout there was some questions
about whether he was really going to work out that.

Speaker 2 (11:33):
Morning the kind of put some things.

Speaker 3 (11:35):
Together the routes didn't, look you, know as great as
what we probably you, know not maybe your traditional. Routes but,
Man i'll tell you what this guy you just watch
him down after down after, down make play after. Play
LIKE i, said the, separation the, hands the big, playability
the ability to find space when things break. Down that's
one of the things that make in my, opinion made

(11:56):
Sure Door sanders this guy THAT i thought was special
because ability to make plays on the move and what
a lot of the, time whether it Was, sanders h,
well it's. Gone whether it Was hunter Or horn or.
Others you, Know western those guys were making plays by finding.
Space and The colorado offensive line was horrible two years,

(12:16):
ago better this, year but still there were times where
he they had to make plays off. Schedule AND i
Think hunter is one of the best in the. Country
when it comes to, That he's my number one. Player
and on my draft, board.

Speaker 1 (12:29):
How close do you Have quarter to? Him and Is
quarter your number?

Speaker 2 (12:31):
Two carter's actually number?

Speaker 3 (12:34):
THREE i HAVE i Have, Hunter shinty and Then carter
are my top three players in this. Draft AND i
think there is some concern with With carter just. Now
this is the disadvantage that we have in the. Media
we watch. Tape we sometimes we hook and crook tape

(12:56):
and we get onto a platform where we can watch
this tape and you could see the, tape but we
don't get to interview these kids unless they're in a
combined setting and we get to talk to them that,
way or we get to or and you don't get
to hear the. Medical, NOW i was talking to some
people about his foot and is this something that the stretch,
fractures this is something that could potentially show.

Speaker 2 (13:18):
Up i'm just looking at the.

Speaker 3 (13:19):
Tape i'm just looking at this is this is one
of my top three players on my. BOARD i personally
feel like The giants if they, go if they, go
if they Go Hunter Carter sanders, there THEY'RE i don't
think they can go. WRONG i just don't believe that
they can go wrong on their on picking these. Guys

(13:40):
BUT i do think there's a little bit more concern for.
Me there's a couple of. THINGS a little bit more
concern for me With carter for the foot long. Term
even Though i've talked to a lot of trainers THAT
i worked with over the years and they, said, listen it's, Something,
hey is a, concern something you need to worry. About,
yeah it's something you need to keep in the back
of your. Mind i'll tell you something About. SANDERS i

(14:00):
THINK i Need sanders to slim down a little. MORE
i think then when you AND i say this in
physically and, HERE i live in a city and work in.

Speaker 2 (14:08):
A city Where Luka dancic. Was that was the whole.

Speaker 3 (14:10):
Thing if you're familiar with The Dallas, mavericks oh, yeah
they said it wasn't in shape and da da da da.
Da BUT i think that If, sanders if you go back,
and like, say you watch those, films you go back
and watch what he was doing At Jackson, state he
was a little bit, lighter a little bit more mobility
to his, game and SO i think maybe that maybe
some weight loss might help. Him they're still super super

(14:32):
talented the way he, plays all.

Speaker 1 (14:34):
Right so final one on the top.

Speaker 4 (14:35):
Three who's the guy that cowboy fans you think are, like, oh,
MAN i hope The giants don't get.

Speaker 1 (14:39):
Him?

Speaker 2 (14:41):
Hunter is?

Speaker 3 (14:42):
It?

Speaker 1 (14:42):
Hunter?

Speaker 3 (14:43):
Okay, yeah Well, Dallas dallas really Has dallas will have
a difficult time covering neighbors And hunter they'll, have you,
know they will teams around the league will have a
different difficult.

Speaker 2 (14:53):
Time you, know you find a way you could, scheme
you could scheme.

Speaker 3 (14:57):
Around Maybe carr Sand sanders would be tough, too, because
LIKE i, say he's, poised he's. Savvy the guy's a.
Winner you, know he's he's played under immense. Pressure The
giant fan base is one of the best The National Football.
League smart fan, base but a lot of. Pressure there
a lot of pressure to, perform you, know and you

(15:20):
know They the thing about it is That john this
is WHERE i think that maybe you could go with With.
Hunter and that's WHY i think they went and got veteran.
Quarterbacks and this is the unfortunate part of. FOOTBALL i
think the general, manager the head coach need to win.
Games they need to win AND i don't know if you.
Can can you wait For? Sanders can you throw him

(15:40):
in and expect what happened with The, commanders you, know
with with how they were able to navigate their, season you,
know with a rookie. QUARTERBACK i, mean that would be
your hope if you're A, giant stand that if you Drafted,
sanders that he would come in and be that type of.
Quarterback but IT'S i think they're in a situation where me,
PERSONALLY i think they go the best player Under carter

(16:04):
one of those, guys and then they turn around in
that top of that second, round think, About, okay what
quarterback might be. There they've got two quarterbacks. Already you,
know you could do far worse than what they've. Done
but maybe if you want to pick that quarterback in
the second, round or you just want to keep, going you,
KNOW i think it's important that they find a. Way
these general manager needs to win, games you, know and

(16:25):
get to you, know the ownership has been, supportive but
there comes a point in time where you need to
find a way to be more competitive and not be
picking third.

Speaker 4 (16:34):
Overall The Johns Little podcast is brought to you By,
citizens The Official bank of The. Giants from game day
celebrations to your everyday financial, Needs Big blue can get
the most out of every moment With. Citizens learn more
At citizens bank dot com Slash giants huddle.

Speaker 2 (16:48):
Up get in. Here if you're lined up, here you
got to go over the middle with at the score?
Great how do we make that? HAPPEN i don't, know
But citizen.

Speaker 3 (16:57):
Does it makes sense of your Money With Citizens Official
bank Of Eli.

Speaker 4 (17:02):
Manning how do you stack that second group of quarterbacks
once you get Past ward And?

Speaker 3 (17:07):
Sanders, YEAH i really. Do i'm a fan Of. Howard
NOW i got the. WAY i have my first round
grade On Ward, SANDERS i have as in the second.
ROUND i have fifteen total first round. Grades sanders is
the twentieth player on my, board and THEN i Have

(17:29):
Jackson dart at twenty, seven and THEN i like Will
howard down the line. There so to, ME i would
be looking at Now Jalen.

Speaker 2 (17:39):
Milroe is, CRAZY i mean crazy.

Speaker 3 (17:43):
Good and you know where you have to think About
milroe is can somebody help him with his? Mechanics but
you could watch him play Against george in the first
half of that game and you would be like. Amazed
then you can watch him Against wink Martin dale Against
michigan in the ball, game and there's some some issues. There,
Now Wink martindale took down a couple of big. Quarterbacks

(18:04):
he took down he took Down howard At Ohio, state
and he took down Mill roe At. Alabama but you,
know people have talked, about you, know with. McCord i
don't think Quinn ewers is in that group to, me
it's more Like Howard Milroe. Accord that's kind of HOW
i look at. THEM i Think owers is further away
from that. Group but you, know if you if you

(18:27):
had a, chance if you had a chance to get
A Will, howard or you had a chance to Mill roe,
McCord i think those would be very good options for.

Speaker 1 (18:36):
You what do you think about The louisville Quarterback.

Speaker 2 (18:38):
Shook i'm not a fan of his.

Speaker 3 (18:41):
Age i'm not a fan of the huge knee brace
that he. WEARS i think to, me when you when
you look at his overall, play it is to me
it's one of those things where the nothing against multiple,
transfers because we're going to see that as you AND
i continue on this, journey we're going to see players

(19:01):
that are multiple. Transfers, Oregon Texas, Tech. Louisville he's played
for seven seasons now because of multiple.

Speaker 2 (19:09):
Injuries the thing THAT i worry.

Speaker 3 (19:11):
About with him IS i do worry ABOUT i do
worry about his, collarbone which is A i think a.
PROBLEM i think he's busted in twenty twenty. One in
twenty twenty, two there are times when you watch him
throw the football where he flinches AND i mean flinches
like where he gets, back he sets and the rush
starts to come and you see him throw and get

(19:33):
down and maybe he's protected. Himself BUT i do feel
like that he is worried about his collar bone when he,
plays and you, KNOW i think there's some snaps where
you watch. Him his receivers didn't always help him with
the drops that kind of resulted in some. Turnovers but
he is a much better passer when, protected and in THE,

(19:53):
nfl you're not always. Protected AND i worry about that
as him for a, PLAYER i worry about is he
trying to protect a collar? Bone is that going to
be a problem going? Forward and you know he's had
LIKE i, say seven years older guy twenty six years
old already and they're gonna be In.

Speaker 2 (20:09):
September those are all concerns for.

Speaker 4 (20:11):
Me no good, answer all. Right you mentioned you have
fifteen first round. GRADES i, do all, Right i'm at
like I've Jihad, CAMPBELL i have not finished. YET i
do linebackers, last so either of sixteen or, seventeen depending
if he sneaks his way in. There that's fewer THAN
i had last, year probably by a good sixty seven. Players, uh.
Right you know the Way i've kind of termed this, Draft,

(20:33):
ryan you, know just go find a safe. Player you
know what you're getting out of, him that's going to
be a good. Contributor Dan jeremiah's called as a starter,
draft not a star. Draft is that how you would
look at it, too if you were doing?

Speaker 3 (20:43):
This, YEAH i usually like you And i've been talking
for a lot of years about this, draft and we'll
have somewhere between eighteen and twenty three.

Speaker 2 (20:50):
NAMES i used to have those WHEN i was in the.

Speaker 3 (20:52):
League you, know there were TIMES i would look at
a board at eighteen first round, grades twenty first round
grades on a, board and that's kind of WHERE i was.
At but this is one of those unusual drafts WHERE
i had fifteen AND i only had one. QUARTERBACK i
have a lot of questions about some of these offensive,
tackles you, know and that's something in the past That
i've never really had a problem. With you, know there

(21:13):
was always offensive tackles that you felt, really really really good.
About here these guys have some. Questions are some of
these top tackles really? Guards you, know there was questions About.
Armlenk you, Know i've Watched Will campbell. Play i'm an lsu.
Alum i've watched him play his entire. Career you, know
he's had some really great. Games he's had some games
where people have got after him pretty good and it
wasn't about arm. Length it was really about him having

(21:35):
to make. Blocks, so you, KNOW i think that this
is an unusual. Draft i've never been a part of
a draft that has had this many running backs in.
It the edge is a very very deep. Class and
actually the defensive, tackles especially one, technique those three hundred
and twenty two pound guys that you, KNOW i think
there's going to be a run on them in this,

(21:56):
draft much like we saw last year the run with
the running. Backs there's going to be a run on defensive,
tackles these one. Techniques AND i was talking to some
scouts around the league AND i asked them about specifically
about running back and they were, saying, listen we every
team is going to have this list. Different there are
some people that are going to Have they're going to

(22:17):
Have johnson Above, hampton my, Case hampton Above, Johnson henderson above.
Those you, know there's going to be all. Kinds whether
you like, scataboo whether you Like james where you Like,
samson they're going to Be nobody is going to get
the exact, order, Right it's just not going to. Happen
so depending on what you want at running, BACK i

(22:37):
think it's a, really really a good group in that.
Way so it's a unique draft more so like in
the middle of the board than it is towards the
top of the. BOARD i, mean this is the old
cliche that people always, say but, player you, know player
twelve could be the same as player.

Speaker 2 (22:55):
Forty you, know.

Speaker 3 (22:56):
That's kind of how THEY a lot of teams are
looking at this particular.

Speaker 4 (23:01):
Draft all, RIGHT i would to hit on a bunch
of those positions you just, Mentioned but before we get,
THERE i want to hit your. Scout have you gotten
to the bottom of why the arm measurements at the
combine were sol wonky this?

Speaker 3 (23:14):
Year you know, what H i it's funny that you asked,
that BECAUSE i can't get anybody to. Admit now this
is where this is where things get a little. Strange
when you go to the combine and you sit in
the heightweight measuring, room the hands and the. ARMS i

(23:36):
can't remember ever being in a combine where it wasn't
the same guy doing it every? Year and you wonder
if in fact that they made a, change did they
bring somebody else in? Differently and you, know the one thing,
is you, know look at the forty yard. Dash you
Know Mark korshak who's been the starter for the forty
yard dash from The Pittsburgh. Steeler he's the guy that

(23:57):
blows the. Whistle and if they did they, roll he
blows the. Whistle the one thing the combine always had
was consistency with. That so you do wonder did you
get a change well where this was The Singer bowl
wrong or was the combine? Wrong you know there was
a time too where the combine the vertical jumps were

(24:22):
off a ton from where you normally and your like
thinking forty three on that, guy you, know forty forty
on that. Guy you know there was a time so
you were worried about the. Measurements you were worried about
we're guys extending all the way. Up SO i can't
get anybody to say with certainty, Why BUT i have

(24:44):
a feeling that maybe we need to look at was
there different personnel from where we've seen in the, Past
and it's what's happened now is it's made every scout
at every pro, day they do the, height weight measurements
and hand measurements and. Stuff but they've also now they're
in a situation where they where they've now having to

(25:08):
make sure that they redo all of them just to
make sure that they got what they feel is the right.

Speaker 1 (25:13):
One, yeah it's, amazing all. Right so you talk about defensive.

Speaker 4 (25:16):
Tackle cowboys are interested in that as, well so you've
done a lot of work on. Them The giants are
very much in the defensive tackle of conversation as. Well
they'd probably like to get one of thirty four if they.
Can BUT i almost like this little gap once you
get past that kind of first, group where do you
have your gap and kind of how do you separate
your defensive tackles down your board and when do you

(25:37):
start kind of getting those tears pop?

Speaker 2 (25:39):
Up?

Speaker 3 (25:40):
Yeah WHAT i think that depending on whether you're looking
for three techniques those are the outside shoulder of the,
guard or you're looking for one techniques those three twenty two,
guys you've got one of the best one technique players
IN nfl playing for, you so maybe you might be
looking at the three technique stuff, more is that kind

(26:00):
of where you're at on that or where where do
you feel like the giants are looking At do you
think they're looking at a big guy or they're looking
at orbit up the field.

Speaker 4 (26:08):
Guy, YEAH i wouldn't be shocked if they doubled. Up
to be honest with, YOU i can see them.

Speaker 2 (26:11):
Drafted, okay, okay, Okay well then then we're in good shape. Here.

Speaker 3 (26:16):
Uh you, KNOW I i think when you when you
start to talk about you, Know graham From, Michigan grant From.
Michigan you, know the one thing That i've learned is
and The, cowboys And i'm just speaking from The cowboys.
Stand they Took Mazzie, smith and they They mazzie was
really kind of a two. Gap and WHEN i say two,
gap you extend inside outside to get rid of your
guy and go with With uh With Wink martindale now

(26:38):
being the, coordinator and, again giants stand very familiar with the.
Scheme they're they're in a situation where he Got graham
And grant both AND i Think graham playing the three
technique is really really really, good and Then grant playing
the one you get pass, rush you get upfield. Play
Graham Grant Hyley williams From Ohio State. Harmon you AND

(27:01):
i have talked about about him From, Oregon nolan From
old MISS i THINK i think those are kind of
where of the five GUYS i know people have talked,
about you, know With, turner they've talked About walker From.
Kentucky you, know how does his motor? RUN a great
looking kid, physically but is he going to play.

Speaker 2 (27:21):
Down after down after?

Speaker 3 (27:23):
Down there's some questions they talked about he had a broken,
back things like. That But, Turner Alexander, Sanders Norman lott
hyphenated name From. Tennessee you, know these the guys THAT
i kind of feel like are going to be the
top defensive tackles in this. Draft and then you get

(27:43):
kind of maybe into where you, get you, know With
peebles From, Virginia Tech collins From texas is a really
really big. Guy west From indiana was very very good
in the in The East West shrine.

Speaker 2 (27:56):
Game. FARMER i, mean they're they're. There it's a good
group of.

Speaker 3 (28:00):
Guys BUT i kind of feel like though that you
can get really good value going all the way down
through the fourth.

Speaker 2 (28:07):
Round AND i think.

Speaker 3 (28:07):
That's WHERE i think that's where it's gonna you know,
it depending on whether you want the one or the.
Three if you want, BOTH i think you're a pretty
dark in.

Speaker 4 (28:16):
Shape, yeah SO i think The Sweet show The giants
got that compensatory pick in ninety, nine then they pick
again a one o. Five to, me you should have
some really good defensive tackles that do both those things
on the.

Speaker 1 (28:28):
Board with those two, picks.

Speaker 2 (28:30):
You might be you might be a part of starting the.

Speaker 3 (28:32):
Run you got that, pick AND i might be the
start of the run for these defensive.

Speaker 4 (28:38):
Tackles, yeah how do you Put collins Versus? FARMER i
Think Jamorey caldwell for, me is a little bit lower
down on the. Board And i'll Throw Dion walker in
there THOUGH i know he's a bigger. Guy he's more
of an upfield guy than than an. Anchor how do
you those one techniques kind of in that? Area how
would you stack?

Speaker 2 (28:54):
Them, YEAH i really really.

Speaker 3 (28:57):
Do i'm a fan of the group as a, whole
AND I i kind of WITH i got we Mentioned
Grant Williams. Harmon those are kind of up there for.
Me walker more like kind of a third round. GUY
i know that people probably have him a little bit.
HIGHER i just could not get over they sometimes playing

(29:18):
sometimes not Playing, collins.

Speaker 2 (29:20):
AS i mentioned From, texas he probably will go. Higher
west will probably go. Higher Paul, Well i'm with. YOU
i Have, Collins, West, phillips and Then calwell would be
that kind of that WAY i stack that. Group i'll
tell you this about with With collins and and he
is at you, know sixty six and three and thirty two.

Speaker 3 (29:41):
POUNDS i mean he is A this guy's got, length
he's got the Mass i'm talking.

Speaker 2 (29:47):
About i'd like to see him just a little quicker
off the.

Speaker 3 (29:49):
Ball sometimes he'll pop straight up out of his stance
and he'll get right high off the.

Speaker 2 (29:53):
Snap and he.

Speaker 3 (29:55):
Really relies on his brute force as a player instead of.
Technique his pad level will kind to go up and,
down and he needs some work on that as well
as his. Hands but, man the power that he plays,
with he can, extend he can, control he can. DISENGAGE
i mean he he he could be awkward as a pass.
RUSHER i think that's kind of something he's gonna. Need

(30:17):
the body control and bounce can be.

Speaker 2 (30:19):
A little bit all over the.

Speaker 3 (30:19):
Place but his, effort his big play, potential all those
things are with him. THERE i, mean you can use
him on. Stunts, uh he's gonna be the post. Guy he's,
gonna you, know he's Gonna they're gonna have guys loop the,
power the, strength the point of. Attack there's, there's there's
all that is very very positive with With. Alfred With Alfred,

(30:40):
COLLINS i, mean AND I i think that to me
that he's got the physical traits that you absolutely can work,
with and and and and and some of the mental
ones as. Well but he's you, know you watch him
Against TEXAS a AND m Against. Georgia, man he went
up against a pretty good competition and fared very.

Speaker 4 (30:58):
Nicely all, right, Now i'm gonna give you the group
of three, Techniques, Darius, ALEXANDER.

Speaker 1 (31:02):
Tj, Sanders Chamar. Turner how would you kind of stack?

Speaker 4 (31:07):
That AND i Though omar And norman lot into that mix,
Too how would you stack that group of?

Speaker 1 (31:10):
Guys?

Speaker 2 (31:12):
YEAH i Like.

Speaker 3 (31:13):
TURNER i Like. Turner now people have people have talked
About turner a lot higher THAN i would have Take.
TURNER i Think turner is really a. Tweener BUT i
like the initial, QUICKNESS i like to change the. DIRECTION
i like his lateral. SPEED i like the. BURST i
think he's best when he could just play one, gap

(31:33):
just go just but he's a two gap. GUY i
don't think he's as. EFFECTIVE i think he got stuck
along the line of scrimmage and he had some trouble
getting away when he takes on double. Teams sometimes you
see some struggles. There but you, know he's one of
those guys that you know when those, things you, know the,
motor the, effort it's all. THERE i, mean he Had

(31:55):
he's had some chances in some games where he's been
right there in the backfield and he couldn't make the
play that the Quinn ewers was at The texas, game
he's dropped. Back ewers is not the most mobile, guy
and he got away From turner right. There but you
know his his at six three and two hundred and
ninety pounds, though that explosive initial, quickness you, know and

(32:16):
the change of direction and the burst and all those
THINGS i think are super super positive for the. Player
SO i have him Above. ALEXANDER i Think alexander out
Of toledo is a really good. PLAYER i Love sanders
From South, Carolina Norman lot From. TENNESSEE i mentioned those
are all kind of guys THAT i. Have if you
said the three, techniques HOW i ranked, Them, Turner Alexander,

(32:39):
sanders And Norman. Lot i've got them all right there
kind of in that third round. Area there might be
a run on them where they all go in the second,
round BUT i kind of have them all in a
group there in the third on my.

Speaker 4 (32:48):
Board, yeah giants have the first pick in the third.
Round THAT'S i think what might be a good spot
for uh, yeah for one of those guys before they all.
Disappear all, right you mentioned running, Back brian Oh, Man,
YEAH i.

Speaker 1 (32:59):
Have let's a look at my list.

Speaker 4 (33:01):
HERE i have thirteen running BACKS i think with with
WHAT i would consider starter graves in this class and
WHAT i love about the. Class and you mentioned this,
right there are guys of all shapes and, sizes, right
you Got if you want a, thumper you can get a.
Thumper if you want a, receiver you can get a.
Receiver if you can get a speed, guy you can
get a speed. Guy and, man it is just such
a fun group where you can find. STARTERS i think

(33:21):
you're gonna find a guy drafting maybe even at the
end of round four that might start for a team this.

Speaker 3 (33:26):
Year, YEAH i think you're right BECAUSE i KNOW i
look down in my fourth, ROUND i have guys like you,
Know trevor at And, too you Know Neil neil From
Kansas gettings In Kansas. State brooks At Texas tech is
a quality. Runner it catches the ball extremely well as
a really good, blocker kind of a complete. Back martinez

(33:46):
FROM uh From Miami There smith FROM Smu blue From
Texas blue would probably be higher on this list as
an explosive player as a, catcher route, runner stuff like
that if he didn't have some of the fumble problems
that he. Had but AND i Love alan From, SYRACUSE
I I i you, Know alan to me is kind

(34:07):
of unique in that, man he is one of those
guys he takes a, ball he goes straight ahead and
he's running until it's almost like he's seeking. Contact but
he is bouncing off people he's running, With he's finishing
with some. Toughness he's one of the guy that catches
the ball extremely. Well it's over sixty catches At. Syracuse
so you're absolutely. Right you all shapes and sizes in

(34:31):
that fourth. Round, uh if you if you want to
again on my. Board BUT i can even look down
in the fifth round with you, know With, Ali Gordon
hunter FROM uh From Auburn Crosskey, MERRITT i was another
Guy marx FROM, Usc mullins From. Michigan there there's a
there's a quality group of guys that that that teams

(34:52):
could could. Tape and they all got varying traits as
we've talked, about but all really really good runners as.

Speaker 4 (34:58):
Well how do you stack kind of the? Mat And
i'll go a little bit higher in the draft. Here
i'll Throw hampton into the group just because he's a bigger. Guy,
Hampton Caleb, Johnson, judkins Scatter. Bow how do you stack those?

Speaker 1 (35:10):
Four?

Speaker 3 (35:11):
YEAH I i personally, WENT i am a big fan
Of i'm a big fan Of johnson From. Iowa THEN
i Have, hampton Uh FOR i know this doesn't Help giants,
stands but they understand they've seen the player. BEFORE i
Think hampton plays Like DeMarco murray that when The dubts
The Dallas cowboys. Days if you watch his running style

(35:31):
and The giants used to compete, against, well still compete Against,
colts but used to compete against The Marco murray similar running,
STYLE i, Think BUT i have. IT i have It, Johnson, Hampton,
henderson and there's a lot of. People there's a lot
of people that Have hampton Over. Johnson this is WHERE i,
LIKE i, SAY i, think then when you Watch Caleb

(35:52):
johnson play In iowa that ball gets to the you,
know people, say, oh he's just a one cut. Runner,
Well i've seen some tape where he gets to the
edge and linebackers and safeties have had angles on him
and he still just runs right past all. That you,
KNOW i love his, SIZE i love his ability to
catch the. FOOTBALL i love his. TOUGHNESS i love how
he just can kind of make somebody miss and then

(36:13):
if he has to run over, somebody he. Can But
hampton's right there as. Well BUT i See hampton like
A DeMarco. Murray if that Helps giants fans in their,
mind that kind of.

Speaker 2 (36:24):
Back henderson is.

Speaker 3 (36:25):
Outstanding henderson is, Explosive henderson catches the. Ball, Well henderson
is really really good as a blitz pickup. Guy and
you know him And jenkins are you, know kind of
a nice one two. Punch BUT i really think that
somebody is going to Get, henderson AND i don't think
you can wait around on him BECAUSE i think he's
closer to the top guys than he is maybe that

(36:47):
group THAT i just talked About, Sampkins, Jenkins, Harvey, Jones,
tutten And. Scataboo that's kind OF i think he's above all.

Speaker 2 (36:57):
That that's WHY i have a second round great On.

Speaker 4 (36:59):
Henderson all, right let's say on the offensive side of the,
ball how about the tight ends, Here, BRIAN i think
this is a very deep group as. Well And i'll
go past Leveledon. Warm we've talked about those guys a.
Lot that next, group how do you have like The,
arroyos the Fan, ins The, tailors and The ferguson stacked
in the middle of this.

Speaker 3 (37:15):
Draft, yeah if you're absolutely looking for a tight end
at The giants at the top second, round you should
look At Mason TAYLOR. Lsu And i'm not saying that
just Because i'm in a lumb But i've seen him
play his entire. Career, again much like With, campbell this
kid is one of the most clutch. Players if you

(37:36):
were to ask your wide receiver there About Mason, taylor
you will tell you what a clutch player he is
when they needed first, down when it's third and. Thirteen
he's getting fifteen yards when it's down in the red
zone and they need to catch a big catch to
keep a drive. Going He's Mason taylor's going to make this.
Catch you, know he's developing as a. Blocker his, size

(37:58):
his athletic, ability his, hands his. TOUGHNESS i have him
Over loveland. Myself oh, WOW i do HAVE i do
Have Warren. Taylor loveland would be my guys fan In
helm would be the round. LOW i really do Like
ferguson From, oregon AND i have him Over. ARROYO i
think that the thing With arroyo is interesting is it

(38:20):
took it took a ward coming To miami For arroyo
to get to get the note. Orioted and he deserves
as a player because until then he really really really
wasn't very. Much but that that is a that is
there's a good group of tight, ends you know when
you when you start to kind of break these things,
down uh you, know AND I i really. Do there's

(38:42):
a couple of THOUGH i don't know what to do With,
gadsden uh from From. Syracuse you, know more of a
bigger wide receiver guy than a tight. End but there
there's a it's it's a it's a quality. Group but
LIKE i, say IF i was looking for a tight end,
EARLY i know people Love warren and all rightfully, so

(39:04):
but keep an eye On Mason. TAYLOR i think he's
going to be a really really good.

Speaker 4 (39:08):
Pro all, right Guttter, helm you mentioned. Him we even
talked a ton about. HIM i was a big fan
of Date. BRIAN i thought he had really good. HANDS
i think he tries the. Blocker he's he's a taller.
Guy you, know he didn't test, well but he had
the ankle at the Commin So i'm not gonna go
nuts on. That you see a ton of him down
there In. Texas why are you such a big fan Of?

Speaker 3 (39:24):
Helm? YEAH i think this guy Is when you watch
him play down the stretch For texas in those playoff,
games he came up, BIG i mean really.

Speaker 2 (39:34):
Big and you, know.

Speaker 3 (39:36):
He was one of those guys that the coaches challenged
him to be a better player or he wasn't going
to see the, field and he accepted that challenge from
them and went to. Work the approvement he made from
one season to next was super. IMPRESSIVE i mean he'll
line up all over the formation as you mentioned he'll
and function. Well he's got some slippery trades to his.

(39:58):
Game as a route, runner he appears to find ways
in order to free himself and kind of present himself
as a. Target he works, underneath he works across the,
field he works down the. Seams he's going to make a.
Reception he's had some huge receptions For texas during the,
season AND i really like the way that he's able
to kind of extend his hands away from his, body

(40:18):
snatch the ball and then kind of turn up the
field and get. GOING i don't think he's going to
run away from, anybody but he does get north south
in a hurry to get all he.

Speaker 2 (40:27):
Can as a. Blocker is technique.

Speaker 3 (40:29):
And functional streak will kind of limit him a little,
bit as you, mentioned but he gives really really good.
Effort he just lacks sustain that's his biggest. Problem this
kid reminds me. Again i'm going to make another comparison
for The Dallas, cowboys but people have seen this player
play Was Dalton. SCHULTZ i think it's a very similar
Player Dalton schultz that we had with The cowboys and

(40:50):
now with The Houston. Texans kind of a similar type
of guy that the way he, plays he's able to,
separate catch the, ball get what he can and can
be reliable in that.

Speaker 4 (41:00):
Way i'm happy you're able to get over the athletic
testing on fan and these when you watch that guy on.
Tape all he does is get open and make. Plays
AND i don't understand why people are are like doubting
him when he does it against you, Know Penn, state Right,
Texas like he just has a really good.

Speaker 1 (41:14):
Tape.

Speaker 2 (41:15):
Yeah, no you're absolutely right about.

Speaker 3 (41:17):
Him and you know the thing With fannin is that
to me that he is one of those guys that
it's sixty three two forty. One he's got good strength
and he's got agility in, space and you watch him
catch the, ball he'll bounce off tacklers and get through
a defense and he could be difficult to bring down

(41:37):
as a ball. CAREER i think he runs really good
routes to get his own coverage and off man, coverage the,
stems the body. Control there's kind of a three level
threat to him in the passing. Game you, know he
could get it underneath and the intermediate and then you
can also get it to him down the. Field but
he's not a traditional inline, blocker and he just doesn't

(41:58):
have the power to really fight those.

Speaker 2 (42:01):
Edges you, know those types of.

Speaker 3 (42:03):
Guys but as a pass, catcher line up in several,
spots matchup. PROBLEMS i, mean he's he's the type of
guy that kind of can turn your head a little
bit because of his ability to make plays the way he.
Does if you want to know how to manage two
minutes of crunch time, Football i'm your. Match but if
you're wondering about a long term financial, plan you should

(42:23):
talk To.

Speaker 1 (42:23):
Citizens, HEY i can also talk long Care i'd like to.

Speaker 2 (42:26):
Learn about A milli.

Speaker 3 (42:27):
Routine, YES i KNEW i could help make sense of
your money With citizens.

Speaker 4 (42:31):
ALL i know you mentioned The cowboys would be in
the wide receiver business potentially at. TWELVE i, Wonder, brian,
though how much would it go into their. Thinking and
this is just you, know not necessarily them, specifically but
talking about the class for any team in. General this
is such a good day two wide receiver. Class you,
know you don't have the stars from last, year but,
MAN i have half a dozen guys THAT i think

(42:52):
you'd be fine picking in the second round that are.

Speaker 1 (42:54):
Really really good.

Speaker 4 (42:55):
Players how much your team's gonna think just, LOOK i
can get a wide receiver a round two or three this,
year AND i feel pretty good about playing them in
as a starter instead of using a premium pick on.

Speaker 3 (43:05):
One, yeah the problem is that's Been dallas's And i'm
Using dallas again, here that's Been dallas's attitude for a long.
Time and you, know They Ceedee lamb fell into their,
lap but they legitimately they've been waiting.

Speaker 2 (43:16):
On you, know they traded for For mingo From.

Speaker 3 (43:20):
Carolina you, know maybe that's their their ex so they're
big guy that they like to to kind of take that.
Role But tolbert has had moments where he's been really really.
Good in moments he's been really really. Bad but, Overall
dallas needs to find somebody to play Opposite Ceedee, lamb
AND i think this is a really good opportunity for
them in that. Way, again talking about The, cowboys you

(43:44):
know there could be a thought about that they have
receivers that that don't separate great and don't have a
lot of. Speed but this is where you know you talk,
about well would they draft tech.

Speaker 2 (43:57):
McMillan McMillan is.

Speaker 3 (43:59):
Outstanding you, know it's not fifty to fifty ball with,
him it's eighty twenty with. Him you, know his ability
to go get it and create those opportunities is unique
and makes him one of the top wide receivers in the. Strap,
PERSONALLY i wonder If dallas is going to take a
shot At Matthew golden because he's different than what they.
Have he has legitimate, Speed he is explosive, receiver he is.

(44:22):
Dynamic he's different from anything that they. HAVE i, mean
you watch him run routes against secondary and you could
see this the fear in the secondary as they play.

Speaker 2 (44:33):
HIM i, mean he.

Speaker 3 (44:36):
Crushes, cushion he can run through. Zones you, know he's
just one of those types of. Guys, again when we
talk About, Helm golden made so many plays down the.
Stretch so If dallas they might be in a situation
And dallas brought, in.

Speaker 2 (44:50):
They brought in all the top.

Speaker 3 (44:52):
Ones but to your, point, YEAH i think this wide receiver,
crew if you look at second and third, rounds it's
almost like the, run it's a little bit of like
whatever whatever flavor that you would. Like do you want
a tall, guy you want a possession, guy you want
a quick, guy you want a guy that could play
all the. Positions, YEAH i just think In dallas's case

(45:15):
and teams that are looking for a wide, RECEIVER i
think that going early is not a bad. Thing now
with these Guys howard McMillan stack, up And golden stack,
up and A buka stack up And burdens stack. Up
with previous, classes they might be not the, first but
maybe they would be third or fourth in the line

(45:36):
of these. Guys so, yeah it's a unique, group BUT
i think the quality of the players is clearly.

Speaker 2 (45:42):
There.

Speaker 1 (45:43):
Now i'm with. You how do you stack?

Speaker 4 (45:44):
That that next group if you want to look it
around To brian the the The Jack besch is the
two kids Of Iowa, state nol And. Higgins, Yeah, Ray,
Harris Kyle. WILLIAMS i think you got a really nice
group there.

Speaker 3 (45:57):
Too, YEAH i really do. Like i'd Like besh a.
LOT i am in your From stanford is another one
THAT i really. LIKE i LIKE i like royals From
Utah state in that. Group harris From old miss is in.
There Kyle williams From Washington state is a fun player to.
Study noel a little bit of a shorter, guy kind
of have him behind some of those. Guys and Then

(46:19):
williams FROM. Tcu So besh And williams both here from
our backyard here In, texas in The Dallas Fort worth.
Area but, yeah it's a it's a it's a it's
a good. Group and LIKE i, said you can you
can kind of get. Down i'm not the biggest fan
Of higgins just from speed, standpoint Because i've got him

(46:40):
and i Got bryant From. Illinois the guys that are
bigger guys catch the ball really really, well but kind
of put some guys with a little bit more quickness
and a little bit more speed up above. Them but
all those guys are good. Players nash From San jose
is a really good, player And hudson From Central florida
is a really good. Player so, yeah there's it's it's

(47:01):
a it's a good group of wide. Receivers but the
one that'll probably go Maybe harrows From old miss will
go Over. Besh but, Man besh is, super, super super.

Speaker 1 (47:12):
Tough, yeah he was a great route. Runner two comes
in down and break really well. Catches, yeah all, right.

Speaker 4 (47:20):
Let's go to the trenches, Here, brian before we wrap things,
up you mentioned this at the. Start you don't have
to go through names if you don't want. To but,
man if you need to tackle in this, class good
luck because they're just not that many. There BUT i
think you might be able to find some guards in
the middle of the drafted d one of.

Speaker 3 (47:34):
Those, yeah you, KNOW i just give a pullback the
current for your. Fans, here your. LISTENERS i Have simmons
From Ohio state Over campbell and Over.

Speaker 2 (47:44):
Membo. Uh and then those are my top three.

Speaker 3 (47:47):
TACKLES i Have banks and Then connory behind that, Group
ursay From, Minnesota trapillo From Boston. COLLEGE i really do
Like Charles grant From. WOMEN i think that's kind of
A i think that's a sneaky good player that you
kind of need to keep an eye. On and Then
lunt From connecticut as another guy THAT i really really

(48:11):
like a lot as. Well so those are kind of
my top. Tackles i'll be interested to see Where simmons ends,
up just because people are probably concerned about the. PATLLA
i was told, though from a couple of different doctors
and trainers that the battella is. Fine you might not
have him for the, OTAs but he'll be ready for training, camp,
Okay and so that THAT i think is positive, news

(48:34):
but he could very well end up kind of sliding
down the board because people are worried about. That BUT
i think he's the most talented tackle in the. DRAFT
i THINK i was talking to some people At missouri
About nimbou and just it's interesting that he is such
a technician and a you, know when you watch, him
he's hard to beat because of an athlete's athletic. Ability

(48:57):
they just wondered if he could could have been, meaner you,
know and when you talk about you, know so there
are things with these offensive tackles that you could be
a great, athlete you could be. Tough but they, want they,
said if he'd just be a little bit. Meaner so
keep an eye on that. One but he is a
heck of a. Player you mentioned about the. Guards i'm
interested to. SEE i personally Like Donovan jackson Over, Booker,

(49:22):
Okay AND i like that just BECAUSE i don't Think
booker could play left, tackle And i'm not all about position.
Flexibility but to See Jonavan Donovan jackson go out there
and really the second half of the season and through
all those playoff games and play at a high level at,
tackle but also play at a high level Before simmons

(49:42):
got hurt at guard makes me feel really really good about.
Him booker's a hell of a player From. Alabama i'm
interested to see where people are going to Play Gray.
Sable are they going to play them at? Guard are
they going to play them at? Center that's WHERE i
because this draft does not have very many. Centers and
McLoughlin From Ohio STATE i think is the best, one

(50:05):
BUT i don't have him in the first two. Rounds
he's very similar to what A Jason kelsey kind of
a player for me when you look at athletic. ABILITY
i watched him At alabama a lot of his career
and then watching him At Ohio state until he got.
Hurt this guy is super when it comes to pulling
and playing at second, level you, know and and doing

(50:25):
those kinds of. Things So i'll be interested to see
how many of these guards moved to center to make
up for the lack of depth in the draft at.

Speaker 4 (50:35):
Center all, right let's go to the, Spot, Brian first and,
foremost who are your first round edge players in this.

Speaker 3 (50:41):
Class i've Got carter And green are my first, two
and then in the second ROUND i Have Mikeil williams
are our young man From Boston. College i'm sure you've
got the name down perfect As araku exactly and so
and Newman yellen from From, ole miss is in my.

(51:03):
Group i'm hearing a lot of things About pierce that
might drive him down the. Board there's some things off
the field that need to be answered. THERE i think
there were some things that need to be answered About
green as, well BUT i feel more comfortable with that
THAN i do What i'm hearing About.

Speaker 2 (51:20):
Pierce so keep an eye On.

Speaker 3 (51:22):
Pierce if there starts to be a slide from The tennessee,
edge THEN i think you'll know why from watching our
show here. Today BUT i think it's a really really good,
group AND i do Like carter.

Speaker 2 (51:35):
LOT i Think Mike green is going to be a
star in this. League.

Speaker 1 (51:38):
Yeah that his tape is, awesome, man it really.

Speaker 3 (51:41):
Is it's and it's a transfer From West, virginia sweet From.
Virginia and SO I i JUST i just love the.
PLAYER i love the, BEND i love the, EXPLOSIVENESS i
love the strength he plays. WITH i think that he,
is you, know with Mikel williams and LIKE i, say,
uh you Know Boston. College and that's that's an explosive
player as. Well so to, me it's it's kind of

(52:03):
a group Where Michael williams is in. There he's a
good looking. Guy, Physically, uh he's got a lot of good.
TRAITS i don't think he's as good of a pass
rusher as these other, guys, yep but that's kind of
Where i'm at with.

Speaker 4 (52:15):
Him so how do you See Jalen? Walker then you
didn't mention. Me do you have him as an off ball?

Speaker 3 (52:19):
GUY i have him as an off ball, Linebacker And
i'll tell you WHY.

Speaker 4 (52:25):
I.

Speaker 3 (52:25):
WAS i initially went into thinking that he's going to
have to play off ball. Linebacker AND i looked at
his size and everybody's saying he's an. Edge he's an,
Edge he's an, edge And i'm, like at that, SIZE
i don't know if he could play full time, edge you, know, yeah, yeah.
Yeah SO i was thinking very similar to what The
cowboys do With Michael. Parsons Michael parsons doesn't always play

(52:48):
off ball. Linebacker BUT i don't think you could Play
walker as an every down edge and expect him to hold.
Up So i'm going to play him as a linebacker
and bring him in on some situal some situals as.
WELL i think he's an inside linebacker and Then i'm
going to use him in situations as a. Rusher but
it'll probably. Develop we'll see if he can handle the.

(53:08):
Workload but talking to scouts around the, league they're worried
about him getting beat, up much LIKE i was worried
about him getting beat up playing as a full time.
Edge we'll see how he's how he's used in that.
Regard i'm with.

Speaker 4 (53:21):
YOU i want to lot to that second. Tier you
didn't mention these. Guys i'll throw them out to. You
how do you Stack, Scorrton Landon jackson and then the
two out stay, Kids sawyer And.

Speaker 3 (53:29):
Toamalow, YEAH i like To amllow better than, that AND
i HAVE i Know scorrton started really high on a
lot of people's, boards you, know like the, media, scouts
we're all talking about scorting top, five top, ten Top
now we really don't hear. Him but when you start
THESE a AND m kids were really really rough on.
Me AND i mean rough BECAUSE i couldn't figure out

(53:53):
is it scheme things or is it you, know? Ability
and they're good looking kids, physically they play with some
power they don't always rush the pass are. Great there's
too much of running down the middle of these uh
of the uh of the. Blocker they don't free themselves
nearly as much As i'd like to see. THEM i
think to Them allow From Ohio, state he is you

(54:16):
talk about a safe. Pick, uh you, know it's when
you know his deal is like he's played a ton
of big. Games he's steady against the. Run he gives
you a little bit as a pass, rusher but that's
kind of where you're. AT i think the ceiling with
him as a player is kind of who he is right.
Now IF i use that the right, WAY i always
screw up the ceiling and floor. Thing but BUT i

(54:38):
kind of feel like he is who he, is that's
who you're. Drafting but he is going to play a
ton of snaps for. You he's going to be good against,
run and he's going to be uh really really uh
you know uh occasionally give.

Speaker 2 (54:50):
You that pass.

Speaker 3 (54:51):
Rush i'm not as high as on on the others
when you talk talk, about you, know With sawyer and
guys like, that AND i kind of think they're kind
of limiting to who they. ARE i have him more
as a fourth round. PLAYER i know he played very
well in That texas, game got a key play at the,
end the, sack the fumble and all that stuff like.
That BUT i kind of feel like that that's another

(55:12):
guy that's very much a kind of limited to what
he can, do probably doesn't have the explosiveness to rush
the edge like AND i really do like The texas,
kid but him And swinson FROM, lsu or the two
kids THAT i kind of have THAT i think him
And canard as well From South carolina are all those

(55:33):
guys as.

Speaker 1 (55:34):
Well all, right last two.

Speaker 4 (55:36):
Questions what jumps out at you about the off ball
linebacker and defensive back?

Speaker 3 (55:39):
CLASSES i, think to, me what scares me a little
bit about the defensive back? CLASS i think you can
grab your quality. SAFETY i think That. WATTS i think
people are sleeping On macouba From. Texas you, know people
have talked About starks a, bunch but a man of
worry From South. CAROLINA i see a man Of warriy

(56:02):
testing numbers are, great film doesn't always match the testing
numbers with him as a. PLAYER i THINK i Think
Watts Notre dame is, really, really really really. GOOD i
don't have a first round safety BUT i do Like,
WATTS i do Like Mcooba. Starks is there a man
Of Warri winston From Penn state would be another one
that you might want to look at right.

Speaker 4 (56:21):
There good Tackler winston Is he's. Phenomenal, yeah excellent. Tackler excellent.

Speaker 3 (56:26):
Tackler now the thing with the, QUARTERBACKS i do Like
reville From East, CAROLINA i Like baron From, texas AND
i do Like morrison From Notre. Dame now the problem
Is i'm dealing with a. Knee i'm dealing with the
guy that people might think is a little bit doesn't
have the length In, baron And morrison has.

Speaker 2 (56:46):
Had the hip.

Speaker 3 (56:47):
Issues and so again this is the disadvantage that you
AND i. Have we don't get to sit there and
listen to all the medical stuff that the teams. Have
If i'm The Dallas, cowboys and that's the kind of
the TEAM i cover work, with if, there If ravel
got to them at forty four and Doctor, Cooper Dan,
cooper The cowboys, doctor did the surgery on the, Knee

(57:08):
SO i think That dallas would consider having with drafting
him at forty four if he was. There, now again
there's the QUESTIONS i have is you know where how
these injuries gonna sort. Out we're Getting Will johnson's gonna
gonna run. TODAY i Like thomas From Florida, State Amos,

(57:29):
Porter harriston From kentucky is a good little tough. Player
Noel williams from Cal Riley riley From, Louisville strong From Virginia,
Tech harrish From Kansas. State there's some guys if you're
looking for nickel. Players if you're looking from guys that
are really good nickel, players there's. Some there's some guys

(57:52):
that can definitely play in the slot. HERE i think
That hussey From North carolina is another one of those
guys as. Well mohammed From oregon similar type of. Guy
so there there's.

Speaker 2 (58:05):
Some there's some.

Speaker 3 (58:07):
Guys if you're just looking for a guy that could
play straight zone the zone. Player burke From Ohio state
is a guy much later in the. Draft but if
you're playing your team is very zone, Heavy burke From
Ohio state is a guy you need to take in.

Speaker 4 (58:21):
Consideration all, right final, Question, brian give me some like
a handful three or four Of brian broad his late
round pet cats that you think everyone's sleeping on and
they shouldn't.

Speaker 2 (58:30):
Be oh, man you're always gonna get me with THESE i.

Speaker 3 (58:35):
LISTEN I i think That, restrepo the slot From, miami
it ran a four to, eight is still a damn
good football. PLAYER i would not go into this draft
thinking he's a four eight. Guy this guy plays much,
quicker he. SEPARATES i know people have dinged in because

(58:56):
he's a four eight.

Speaker 2 (58:57):
Guy just watch the.

Speaker 3 (58:59):
Tape this guy makes a ton of place and he
makes big plays for. You i'm a, big big fan
of his. WORK i think he plays faster than for.

Speaker 2 (59:10):
EIGHT i think.

Speaker 3 (59:12):
People are sleeping on On Dylan gabriel From. Oregon, Now
Dylan gabriel probably doesn't fit everybody's, eye But i'll tell
you a team that might Consider Dylan gabriel is The
Miami dolphins because they play with a similar type of
quarterback there And miami has had a lot of problems
with their with their backup quarterback. Situation but if you're

(59:33):
gonna play with a, shorter left handed, guy that's deadly.
Accurate And Dylan gabriel is a damn good player for
you right. THERE i think he's a heck of a.
PLAYER i am a, big big fan of of this Of,
coney the the, cornerback And i'll tell you why there's

(59:54):
he is a guy that let me get to my
notes and make SURE i want to say WHAT i
want to, say BECAUSE i watching him yesterday and and
By Lil coney From Western. Michigan and this kid's a
transfer from From Indiana, state and he's got really good
height speed. Combination he's got range to. Him he could,

(01:00:15):
turn he can, run he can cover. GROUND i mean
he could stay in. FASE i mean patient in the.
PRESS i mean this guy is a TOUGH i mean
he played against some really some good COMPETITION uh FROM
uh this. Year you know when you watch it Play
Ohio state In. Wisconsin he held his. OWN i think,
That LIKE i, SAID i think some people if you

(01:00:37):
need a corner that can, cover that can play, man
can play. Zone cony From Western michigan would be a
guy in day. THREE i think you. Would you would
take a good look at.

Speaker 1 (01:00:48):
Some nice deep.

Speaker 4 (01:00:48):
Names you can hear him on ONE o five three
the fan In. Dallas you can hear him and see
him on The draft show On Dallas cowboys Dot. Com,
brian anything else you want the folks to know about
before we say.

Speaker 3 (01:00:57):
Goodbye no, MAN i appreciate the opportunity to be with, you.
GUYS i always look forward to. THIS i love talking
draft with. You it's, hey good luck to, you and
may all the tags on your board. Glow you know
you JUST i used to that's WHEN I i WHEN
i was in a war, ROOM i always was the
last one to turn the lights out WHEN i, left

(01:01:18):
And i'd stand in for that board And i'd ask
the draft, GUDS i, go please just let the tags start.
Blinking let them start blinking the ones that are going
to be The hall Of fame, Players and then that
WAY i felt better about. It but, yeah it should
be a lot of. Fun i'm Sure Green bay would
be a great. HOST i don't, know are you, going
are you staying? Back are you going to?

Speaker 2 (01:01:37):
Draft?

Speaker 1 (01:01:38):
No, No i'll be doing some live shows here during
the during the, Week.

Speaker 3 (01:01:41):
So, OKAY i have to, say, yeah pack pack your
jacket if you were going to, go because it sounds
like it's gonna be a little bit of a chilly draft.

Speaker 2 (01:01:48):
For folks up. There but it should be a lot of.

Speaker 4 (01:01:49):
Fun you, KNOW i haven't looked is it supposed to
be like in the, Forties like what is it supposed.

Speaker 2 (01:01:52):
To oh, yeah oh, yeah nighttime in The.

Speaker 1 (01:01:57):
I'll tell you.

Speaker 4 (01:01:57):
What the leap there last week here we had highs
in the upper. Thirty so it's just it's been cold
On North.

Speaker 1 (01:02:03):
Man it's been.

Speaker 2 (01:02:04):
Rough i'll tell you. What i've been.

Speaker 5 (01:02:06):
WATCHING i love baseball And i've been watching Those East coast.
Games it's been kind of it's been been kind of
rough on some of my My Texas rangers had to
go make a trip To chicago where they didn't have
the right gear for, that for that whole. Thing but
instead of hats this, year the commissions are going to
put those old starter, parkas you, know The Bill, parcells
That Bill parcells like he's wearing a sleeping, bag that

(01:02:29):
big old parka that he used to. Wear that's what
that's When Travis hunter with The New York giants Select
Travis hunter and then they're gonna put a Big.

Speaker 2 (01:02:41):
Bill parcells starter starter park on.

Speaker 4 (01:02:45):
It oh, yeah this is Not Las vegas and them
taking the boat on The Blaggio.

Speaker 3 (01:02:52):
Fi, no this is this Is this is guys in
the green room meeting brats and having a hell of.

Speaker 2 (01:03:01):
Time, Man it's gonna be a lot of. Fun it's
gonna be a lot of.

Speaker 4 (01:03:03):
Fun you're gonna put them in the toboggan and they're
gonna pull them across the frozen lake on.

Speaker 2 (01:03:07):
The back of a.

Speaker 3 (01:03:08):
Snowmobile yeah, YEAH i forgot the sled.

Speaker 1 (01:03:11):
