Speaker 1 (00:03):
At least, he's the Drive with Dale Lolly and Matt
Williamson on your twenty four to seven home of the
Black and Gold Steelers Nation Radio.
Speaker 2 (00:17):
And welcome back. I am Dale Lolly and welcome back
to our number two of the Drive here on the
Steelers Audio Network. He's the Matt Williamson and Matt it
is time we're our first post Super Bowl mock draft.
Speaker 3 (00:31):
I'm fine with it. Yeah, let's do it.
Speaker 2 (00:32):
This is really the first official one.
Speaker 3 (00:34):
Okay, Yeah, the off season is here, the.
Speaker 2 (00:36):
Off season has begun, and so just to run through
the picture, Shador Sanders, will Campbell, Travis Hunter.
Speaker 3 (00:42):
Steelers done it at this point. I assume they have
a quarterback, right, we'll have a quarterback.
Speaker 2 (00:45):
Let's say they've done something at wide receiver.
Speaker 3 (00:48):
Yeah, it's like a slate and pickup or something like.
Speaker 2 (00:50):
That where they've signed one of the guys that are
going to get released or tree.
Speaker 3 (00:53):
Yeah, yeah, something along the way. The receiver is not
a huge and eating at the moment. Okay.
Speaker 2 (00:58):
Cameron Word, Mason Graham, James Pierce, Michael Williams, Tedoro McMillan,
Malachi Starks, Chavon Revel, Ashton Genty, Tyler Booker, Tyler Warren,
will Johnson, Luther Burden, Derek Harmon, Nick Scourton, Jaylen Walker,
and Matthew Golden are all off the board.
Speaker 3 (01:17):
Some good names there, obviously.
Speaker 2 (01:19):
Top defensive I'm gonna break us into defense and offense here.
Top defensive players available Benjamin Morrison, Nick Amwarie, tylerk Williams,
Walter Nolan, Kenneth Grant, John A. Barron, Mike Green is
still there. I don't know if that's going to be now,
but he's there. Trey Amos is still there. So there's
(01:39):
there's a good number of defensive players that I like
that are still on that list. Offensively, you're looking at
Kelvin Banks, Cameron Williams, Josh Simmons, three offensive tackles, Colston Loveland,
Egbuka Arman, Membo, Harold Fannin, Amarion Hampton, Trey Harris, Jaylen Milroe.
Speaker 3 (01:58):
I like a defensive I would definitely go a lot more,
especially because the need and you know where they're at,
and they have a receiver of some sort in the mix.
We've got trade offers. I'd say there's three guys I
like quite a bit is Grant and Nolan and Baron
are my favorites, but they're not alone.
Speaker 2 (02:17):
Yeah, the Rams are on the phone. They're offering picks
twenty six and ninety for pick twenty one.
Speaker 3 (02:27):
A little risky going that far, but probably one of
those three falls. The Dolphins.
Speaker 2 (02:34):
Yeah, they're all for they want twenty one, but they're
offering forty eight, ninety eight, next year's two, and next
year's three.
Speaker 3 (02:40):
I love that. I think the Rams are like this
one want to reject outgo. In this particular case.
Speaker 2 (02:46):
Washington is on the phone. They're offering picks twenty nine
and seventy nine.
Speaker 3 (02:51):
I think I'd rather deal with the Rams.
Speaker 2 (02:54):
Is there a huge difference between twenty six and twenty nine?
Speaker 3 (02:58):
Well? Odd, if those three are gone, you know what
I mean? Like, I would love I'm torn between those
three and twenty one.
Speaker 2 (03:07):
If they can make that decision for me, this would
be the situation where I would be on the phone
or I'd be talking to Sheldon White, my my director
of pro personnel, and saying, Okay, what are these what
are these next teams?
Speaker 3 (03:18):
Where are they going to go? Yeah?
Speaker 2 (03:20):
Yeah, and there are three offensive tackles available that are
going to be that MU sure would be interesting green
is another name. That means another one, maybe a real
cover right.
Speaker 3 (03:31):
Right, Yeah, that would absolutely be a team need situation,
which will be changed, you know, off through free agency
at this point too. Now this is a random kind.
Speaker 2 (03:43):
If instead we could get Washington to give us twenty
nine and sixty.
Speaker 3 (03:46):
One, I don't want to go wait twenty nine.
Speaker 2 (03:50):
If I can get sixty one though as well, one's
nice opposed to seventy nine, or as we get offered
up oppose a ninety because the Rams don't have anything
in between there, they have nothing else to ask to
talk about. Okay, that's the problem.
Speaker 3 (04:03):
I didn't know that part. Okay, anything has a price.
I mean, if you're gonna give me that kind of return,
I'll listen.
Speaker 2 (04:10):
If we give them twenty one and two twenty five, what.
Speaker 3 (04:17):
Do they say they didn't like that? I don't play them.
That seems like a lot to move up. Okay, that spot.
What are the Rams offering? Ninety ninety is the second
pick because they don't have anything in between, nothing in between.
I mean we could try to come back and turn
a seventh into a sixth, or seventh into a fifth,
(04:39):
something like that.
Speaker 2 (04:41):
I want to do one more thing here, twenty one
and one sixty three? Does that get it done with Washington?
With Washington, that doesn't get it done? All right, then
we can't do business.
Speaker 3 (04:51):
Okay, Yeah, that's a long way to go.
Speaker 2 (04:53):
I would much rather have I would rather have twenty
nine in something in that second third round as opposed
to ninety at the end of the third. Yeah, like,
you gotta give me something more than just twenty six.
Speaker 3 (05:05):
And ninety has to say, would you do twenty six
ninety and a fifth.
Speaker 2 (05:10):
For which I can get one twenty six out of
them as well?
Speaker 3 (05:14):
Yeah? Yeah, I mean spruce it up a little bit.
If that's their opening offer, We'll get something more out
of them.
Speaker 2 (05:19):
I'd much rather have that than say, let's say, let's
offer two twenty five.
Speaker 3 (05:23):
But my thing with twenty six is I might take
the same guy at twenty one as I take at
twenty six. Right, I don't think that'll happen at twenty nine.
It could, I mean, could grant and fall or something.
Speaker 2 (05:33):
Like that, throwing some different offers at them here.
Speaker 3 (05:35):
To see if with the Rams are talking. Yeah, I'm still.
Speaker 2 (05:39):
Talking to the rams, sweetener. They're not digging it at
all here. I offered them twenty one have many picks
twenty one and one sixty three for twenty six ninety
and one twenty six.
Speaker 3 (05:58):
I guess if you're them, they can't or to give
up a ton of picks because they don't have any.
Speaker 2 (06:02):
Well that doesn't that, that doesn't bother me. Well, they're problem,
not my problem. You want my pick. You got to
give me something that I want. Let me try this one.
Speaker 3 (06:16):
What if we threw in a future fifth or something?
Goofy rejected that counter.
Speaker 2 (06:24):
I offered them both seventh round picks for one.
Speaker 3 (06:29):
To throw like that.
Speaker 2 (06:34):
So they're standing pretty firm here. I say take it.
Let's try something like this. Let's give them a four.
Speaker 3 (06:47):
Let's go.
Speaker 2 (06:47):
We'll give them a future five. Next year's five. I
went there, I went there.
Speaker 3 (06:51):
Four. Next year, okay, a little more, ammo? Next year?
Speaker 2 (06:57):
That one they took, they get us an extra fourth
round excess the first offer.
Speaker 3 (07:01):
Now those negotiations.
Speaker 2 (07:03):
Now we have three trade offers on the board again here,
and I don't like any of them. They're moving it
completely out in the first round.
Speaker 3 (07:09):
So all right, So who went?
Speaker 2 (07:11):
So in between there was they came up for Tyler Williams.
Speaker 3 (07:17):
Interesting he was gonna kind of be my fallback guy.
Speaker 2 (07:19):
Benjamin Morrison, Kelvin Banks, Trey Amos, Arman Membo.
Speaker 3 (07:23):
We could have. Yeah. I thought about Benjamin too. I
just don't know how to comment on his injury. If
the world thinks he's signed, I would have gladly taken it.
Speaker 2 (07:31):
So the three guys that we were talking about are
all still available.
Speaker 3 (07:35):
Yeah, do you have a preference Walter Nolan? Me too.
I like John Ay Barron a lot, a lot, a lot,
and I think Grant is exactly what they need in
the middle too. But I think Nolan's the best prospect
and the hardest skill set the fine to the three.
Speaker 2 (07:49):
Yeah, all right, Walter Nolan it is.
Speaker 3 (07:51):
It's not a bad corner draft. No, it's not the
day two corners aren't bad. All right.
Speaker 2 (07:56):
We're back up now at fifty two. The Giants have
an offer they want to say. They're offering sixty five
and one oh four for fifty two. Titans are offering
future picks to move up. I not interested at all.
All right, let's see what we got available here.
Speaker 3 (08:14):
JT.
Speaker 2 (08:14):
Tuamloa Actual Hairston, Brett Carter, Kyle Canard, T. J. Sanders,
Darian Porter, Kevin Winston Jr. Andrew mccouba, Denzel Burt, Chris Paul,
Dorian Strong, Omar Norman, Lot Latham, Ransom, Isserie A.
Speaker 3 (08:34):
Thomas. I like the three corners. I like Thomas, h
Hairston and Porter.
Speaker 2 (08:45):
I feel like right now I like Hairston a little
bit better.
Speaker 3 (08:48):
Porter probably my third of the three. Yeah, but I'm
hearing a lot of buzz. He'son going. He's huge, He's huge,
r huge. I don't care which one. Well, let's let's
take Hairston. That's fine, that's fine. He's their highest rank.
Guy's probably ours two.
Speaker 2 (09:02):
Yeah, all right, we're back up now at pick eighty three,
and then.
Speaker 3 (09:09):
We have the ninety one coming around.
Speaker 2 (09:11):
Course we do. Washington wants to offer some pick one
for you. We're gonna reject that, all right, top players available.
You got Mason Taylor, Well I should do all here,
Mason Taylor, Saveon Williams, Jayden Higgins, Jalen Royals, Zerie Thomas,
David Walker, Alfred Collins, Ashton July.
Speaker 3 (09:33):
We think Alfred Collins is the nose.
Speaker 2 (09:36):
I think he is. He just hasn't done it a lot.
Speaker 3 (09:38):
Yeah, I say he doesn't align there, but he's yeah,
size and shape and everything.
Speaker 2 (09:43):
He's NOSESH Gunner, Helm, DJ Giddens from k State, Jalen Reed,
Shamar Turner, Cam Scattabow, Quinn Yours, Howard Cross, Gray's Abel
still there, Ernest Green, will Howard, Tony Horton. At some
point we do need to address something offensively.
Speaker 3 (10:02):
Yeah. I like the receiver group. There were two or
three Higgins, and I'm not big on Williams.
Speaker 2 (10:11):
People have seve on Williams rank tie. Where's the production? Yeah,
I mean I get it some of that's quarterback related
as well, but the guys, for as big and fast
as he is, ever's like ten yards of catch in
his career.
Speaker 3 (10:25):
Yeah. No, that's the knock when you think about Higgins.
I don't think we've ever drafted Higgens. I like Higgins. Yeah,
I mean that's a big bodied athlete. Well yeah, I
mean you'd be done at receiver. We said they signed
somebody or added somebody. You could even entertain.
Speaker 2 (10:41):
Question here is, though, is the running back situation going
to be such that so.
Speaker 3 (10:46):
We got picking seven, there were two or three.
Speaker 2 (10:51):
We don't pick again. Well, do we do have another
pick at seven?
Speaker 3 (10:54):
Yeah? And seven picks. There were two or three receivers
of the names you mentioned. Scatabow is only running back,
but that doesn't mean there's not ones you didn't mention.
Speaker 2 (11:03):
Yeah, I'm just looking here at that group and it's
I don't know that this is going to be what
we want at running back.
Speaker 3 (11:09):
I would be fine with Scatabow and then take best
receiver in a.
Speaker 2 (11:12):
Minute at the next pick. Let's do it that way.
Speaker 3 (11:16):
Okay.
Speaker 2 (11:17):
I'll bet there's still a receiver there that I'd.
Speaker 3 (11:20):
Hope for Higgins, but I would be fine with Williams.
I think you said Royal was one of them.
Speaker 2 (11:25):
He was still there.
Speaker 3 (11:26):
Yeah, there was two or three that one of them
is gonna fall. Okay, not going to like this.
Speaker 2 (11:32):
Higgins went with the next pick, then went savvy on
Williams and Jalen Royle's just went to pick before.
Speaker 3 (11:38):
Wow, I mean we rolled it. I mean that's a
risk you take, obviously. Yeah, there's still so we already
signed a receiver. I mean we might not have to
go receiver. Then Jack beck is still there. Oh, I'd
take that, Yeah, Jack Betches is. Yeah, I would definitely
take that. Good. That would made a decision you're using.
Speaker 2 (11:53):
The Pro Football Networks drafter by today.
Speaker 3 (11:55):
But oh, okay, okay, so we got to back a receiver,
a D lineman and a corner Yeah, good, okay, all right,
I'd still well on our witter nose here.
Speaker 4 (12:05):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (12:06):
Top players available here at one twenty two Cayden Prather,
Carson Swashinger, Terrence Ferguson tight end at Oregon, Michelle Touton,
Anthony Belton mm hmm, Jared Ivy, Jordan Hancock, Elijah Roberts,
Ricky White. Ricky White's interesting.
Speaker 3 (12:26):
I like that player he was. I'm not I can't
imagine adding three receivers, no, but especially on his way
out or something, right, you.
Speaker 2 (12:34):
Know, Ollie Gordon, Jordan Birch, Jamari Calbwell, Dylan Gabriel, Fadil Diggs,
Antoine Wells, Jeffrey Bassa, Quincy Riley out of louis we
could have two Louisville cornerbacks.
Speaker 3 (12:47):
He's a value at this point too. I think he'll
be gone by then. I don't know slot capabilities of
those two. Harriston and Riley. Should we take the tackle here,
I would say Belton's my favorite kind of stands out. Yeah,
he might be a guard, but he should have looked
like a tackle with the Senior Bowl fit him in somewhere. Yeah,
I mean again, take the Eagles approach from an extralignement.
Speaker 2 (13:11):
You know, all right, Anthony Belton it is.
Speaker 3 (13:14):
He had a really good Senior Bowl week. He's huge. Yeah, monster,
develop them, you know. All right.
Speaker 2 (13:20):
Let's see here, the Chargers are on the phone. We're
pick one sixty three. They're offering us one seventy seven,
two fifteen, two twenty for one sixty three and two
forty seven, which we really don't own. They have us
with one too many picks on it. Oh okay, I
don't know we need slaws don't have three seventh round picks.
Speaker 3 (13:40):
They have no two right right, Okay.
Speaker 2 (13:42):
So that's why I haven't used this mock drafter as much,
because they haven't dated that.
Speaker 3 (13:47):
I don't know we need the wealth of picks. I'd
rather quality over quantity at this point. Yeah, from this second.
Speaker 2 (13:54):
Half of it, I'd rather get rid of picks that
we don't have so we don't have to make them time.
What if they give us one seventy seven and one
eighty three and we get rid of our we get
rid of all are junk, and.
Speaker 3 (14:07):
We could even offer them a future pick since we
moved up. And let's see if they next week they
took that. All kay, all right? That that's clean things up. Yeah,
now we're all cleaned up, all right?
Speaker 2 (14:17):
Seven to make picks we don't have We now have
one's eighty we have one seventy seven eighty three, two twenty. Great,
there we go. I'd certainly look at quarterback. I look
at quarterback. I'd also look at a nose.
Speaker 3 (14:32):
Yes, the dad wouldn't break my heart at.
Speaker 2 (14:37):
Guess who's still there? Josh Farmer, Oh, sign me up.
JJ Pegas is there, he's a nose. Riley Mills is there.
He's a nose. Thor Griffin is there. He's a nose.
C J West is there another nose? Lots of noses
here in this.
Speaker 3 (14:52):
I think farmers better than all those guys.
Speaker 2 (14:54):
Yeah, I do too, Josh Farmer. It is now we
have we pick again here at one he through, we'vetted
two defensive of lineman. We're done there, We're done there,
We just go everybody. Ollie Gordon is there, Jordan James Hunter, Wohler,
the safety at a Wisconsin THEO Wace weis wide receiver
out of Missouri.
Speaker 3 (15:15):
I'm just looking here.
Speaker 2 (15:15):
If there's anybody somehow, Devin Neil is still there, that's.
Speaker 3 (15:19):
Yeah, some are some back. We're gonna it's gonna fall.
That shouldn't.
Speaker 2 (15:23):
Yeah, Curtis Rourke is there.
Speaker 3 (15:28):
Okay.
Speaker 2 (15:32):
Pat Bryant throw wide receiver out of Illinois. But if
you sorted just by quarterbacks, top quarterbacks available, if you're
looking at Rourke, Shuff, Riley, Leonard Brady Cook, Max Brosmer
out of Minnesota, shuck's my favorite. Yeah, I think do
it done? Okay, aw, shucks, shucks. I'd consider a tight end.
(15:59):
I'd consider a safety, slash slot slash special teamer. I'm
looking here at the tight ends. You got Jake Brianstool,
John Michael Gillenberg from Wyoming, Brant Couth out of Utah,
Benjamin EuroSec out of Georgia, Jalen Conyer's out of Texas Tech.
(16:22):
I don't love this group.
Speaker 3 (16:23):
No, So you're not blowing my doors over that. I
got a little picked over another running back. We can
look that way out the corner.
Speaker 2 (16:30):
Me look here at the defense and see if there's
what stands out uh oh Upton stouts available. That's a
favorite ding ding ding ding ding.
Speaker 3 (16:40):
Yeah, some people have him listened a safety. Yeah, he's
slot all day long, all day long.
Speaker 2 (16:45):
He's Mike Hilton.
Speaker 3 (16:46):
Yeah, I'm great with that. Our draft is over, okay,
all right, so we end up playing my favorite names. Yeah,
at pick twenty six, Walter Nolan. After trading down, we
got Maxwell Harriston at fifty two, Camp Scout about eighty three,
Jack Betch at ninety, Anthony Belton at one twenty two,
Josh Farmer at one seventy seven, Tyler Schuck at one
(17:08):
eighty three, and Upton Stout hit two twenty. We also
got a fourth round pick from the Rams. Yeah, moved
up twenty twenty six. I would take that right now.
Pretty good. It's pretty good. I mean I think like
Betch was a value, Farmer was a value, Belton was
a fact. Yeah, all those guys in that, in that
whole neighborhood, right value picks. And I don't think it's crazy.
(17:31):
I don't think we got like a first round or
in the fourth round because these guys rankings are messed up.
But it fell nicely for us for the names we
like and you know the team needs.
Speaker 2 (17:40):
And again you you've addressed your defensive line with two guys,
with two guys. You addressed your secondary with two guys
very different. You've added a wide receiver, as we said
going into this, you've added also added a wide receiver some.
Speaker 3 (17:53):
Somebody good that's some kind of veteran and betch may
not even be your three right away. And a quarterback
that who knows. Ye I like him, No, I do too. Yeah,
I mean for a late pick, I'd love to stee
him camp and see what happens. And maybe he's a
lifetime backup, maybe he's more than that, maybe he's a
total bust and so what. Yeah.
Speaker 2 (18:11):
But three linemen, yeah, on both sides of the ball,
a couple of corners. Yeah, I think I think it
addressed scatao a lot of needs. You get scatter Bo.
Speaker 3 (18:19):
Yeah, he's gonna play a lot right off the bat.
Speaker 4 (18:21):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (18:22):
I would take that draft in a heartbeat right now. Yah,
it's pretty good. I like it.
Speaker 2 (18:25):
Sign us up, buy me up, and you move up
for next year too, and you get something for next year.
Speaker 3 (18:30):
All right.
Speaker 2 (18:30):
Well that's our first post super Bowl mock draft. Yeah,
I like it. Anyways, let's get to a break. He
is the Matt Williamson. I am Dale Lolly. You're listening
to the Drive here on the Steelers Audio Network. Matt Now,
I'll be back with more right after this.
Speaker 1 (18:50):
At least he's the Drive with Dale Lolly and Matt
Williamson on your twenty four to seven Home of the
Black and Gold cast in Steelers Nation Radio.
Speaker 3 (19:01):
Welcome back.
Speaker 2 (19:02):
I'm Dale lay he is the Matt Williamson and Matt
Dan Pezuda on the thirty third team has put out
his list of the top one hundred pending free agentcy
one month from today.
Speaker 3 (19:14):
I know, I scrolled it this morning. It's a pretty
good list. There's oftenly some names to know. Let's take
a look at that.
Speaker 2 (19:21):
You got t Higgins at number one, no surprise, or
Tray Smith at number two.
Speaker 3 (19:25):
I don't think he hurped her helped the stock yesterday.
I mean he had some help with Carter, but he
did fine.
Speaker 2 (19:31):
Chris Godwin at three, I.
Speaker 3 (19:34):
Don't know I him or Higgins are gonna leave town.
Speaker 2 (19:37):
Javon Holland of the Dolphins at four.
Speaker 3 (19:41):
Easy to make a good buck.
Speaker 2 (19:42):
He's gonna make a good buck. And the Dolphins can't
afford to keep every right now, Yeah, they might have
to trade Hill.
Speaker 3 (19:48):
Yeah. Yeah, they're getting into some real rough waters right now.
Speaker 4 (19:51):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (19:53):
At five DJ Reid, it seems high to be But
I'm a fan and I think he's somebody the Steelers
should consider. He's I don't know if he's to be
the fifth highest contract of anyone on the That's.
Speaker 2 (20:04):
The problem is he's gonna he's gonna get a lot
of money to be I mean here, or he would
be though he would basically be in the same.
Speaker 3 (20:10):
Rule situation right, a high end too, Ye mean that's
what you want? Uh. Six And I don't agree with this.
Khalil Mack Yeah yeah, come on man, Yeah, he's still
really good. Throw him on a good team. I get that,
But he's not going to break the back.
Speaker 2 (20:24):
At seven is Ronnie Stanley. I think he'll do well
left tackles or yeah, you know. Eight is Josh Swat.
Speaker 3 (20:35):
He helped himself. Yeah, a couple of Eagles made some
bucks last night. Nine is Zach Bond. He helped himself.
This is Milton Williams.
Speaker 2 (20:42):
What drives me crazy about the odds that come out
right after the Super Bowl.
Speaker 3 (20:48):
So and so he's the favorite. It's always the the
champion is always the favorite to repeat first. Oh yeah, yeah,
I saw the Eagles are their best odds, right.
Speaker 2 (20:56):
There are two of their main guys on Dean Williams,
the other one probably aren't going to be right.
Speaker 3 (21:00):
Yeah. I mean that's that's not too bad for a
Super Bowl contender to lose bad of them. But I'm
sure they'll draft the line like crazy. Uh.
Speaker 2 (21:09):
Number ten, oh soo DIGGI zuwa?
Speaker 3 (21:12):
Okay, quality player two so far, read's the only one
for the Steelers I would have interest in. Eleven is
Charvarius Ward. He's another corner of interests.
Speaker 2 (21:23):
I don't know if he necessarily fits.
Speaker 3 (21:27):
I mean he's fine, yeah, yeah, but I mean he's
an upgrade, yeah, but he's not a superstar.
Speaker 2 (21:32):
Twelve is Stefan Diggs. That's a tough one for me too.
Speaker 3 (21:35):
Yeah, me too. I don't know where i'd rank him either,
But I don't know what you get left. There's a
lot of those kind of receivers on the market.
Speaker 2 (21:43):
Thirteen in his Hassan Reddick, weird last couple of years
from Yeah, that's that's a tough one.
Speaker 3 (21:49):
What's what's the league going to give him?
Speaker 2 (21:51):
Fourteen is Zach Martin. I think he's just gonna reach
I think.
Speaker 3 (21:54):
He retires, Yeah, is a cowboy. Fifteen is Milton Williams.
He'll make He'll be higher paid than a lot of
guys we've listed. He'll be higher paid than he should be.
Probably he's a good player.
Speaker 2 (22:05):
But yeah, you're gonna payhim twenty million dollars. You're expecting
him to come in and be right a twenty million dollars.
Speaker 3 (22:10):
I don't think he's not gonna Christian Wilkins, Yeah, level
free agent, but he's ascending and he's super talented. Yeah.
Speaker 2 (22:18):
Sixteen Ernest Jones.
Speaker 3 (22:20):
Okay, he's had a weird last year or too. Yeah,
I would think they'd want to bring him back.
Speaker 2 (22:24):
Seventeen is Cameron by them, the safety from the Vikings.
Speaker 3 (22:27):
I don't see. Side note. I don't see many franchise
candidates this year.
Speaker 2 (22:30):
Fewer than usual. Yeah, two or three, you know, I
don't think there's many. Eighteen is Sam Darnold.
Speaker 3 (22:37):
I'm surprised he's not higher.
Speaker 2 (22:39):
Well, as he points out here, he ended up sixteenth
among quarterbacks at EPA per.
Speaker 3 (22:45):
Play, Okay, I get it. Yeah, and it didn't finish real.
I mean that's the big thing, is the taste in
your mouth at the end.
Speaker 2 (22:56):
Nineteen Tollanoah hafenga safety from the forty Niners, A.
Speaker 3 (23:00):
Couple of decent safeties which I don't think the Steels
will be interested in. But you know, twenty is Amari Cooper.
Does he do anything for you? I don't know what
to think of his time in Buffalo. Well, here's what,
he's a weird player to begin points out here that
he was a much more efficient receiver after the trade
to the Bills, even though his volume went down. Yeah,
he also was injured right away.
Speaker 2 (23:21):
Yeah, he's a good route runner's twenty nine thirty something
thirty one, okay, seel like he's been in league a
long time.
Speaker 3 (23:30):
You're probably buying him at somewhat of a discount, I.
Speaker 2 (23:32):
Would think so. I mean, I think he's still a
good player. I still think he commands yeah, respect in
terms of you can't just had a very good career.
You can leave him single it up on my five '
ten cornerback.
Speaker 3 (23:44):
No, right, I mean if you went that those year
with Pickens, Cooper, Wilson, Austin and Betch, I mean he
would have fit the mold from last segment. Yeah, yeah,
I mean he's not DeVante Adams, but he's still good.
I've been going back and forth with him in my head,
like it's good enough. Yes, it's not the worst. I die, right.
Speaker 2 (24:03):
I bet he's under twenty million. Yeah, yeah, I would think.
Twenty one Kevin Zeitler, he's thirty five. Twenty two is
Will Fryes.
Speaker 3 (24:16):
Better player than his reputation and in players. Twenty three
Byron Murphy. That one interests me. He's a little more
zone than man, but he's takes the ball away, he
goes inside, he goes outside. I think he's my favorite
corner target. I could get on board with that one. Yeah.
Twenty four is Malcolm Koontz. It would not be a Steeler.
Speaker 2 (24:38):
Twenty five Trayvon Morigg.
Speaker 3 (24:41):
I don't know how they let him go. He's one
of the few good defensive players.
Speaker 2 (24:44):
But well they haven't let him go yet, right right, right,
they have money, They have money. Twenty six is Drew
Dolman's fine.
Speaker 3 (24:54):
Steel's only a center. No.
Speaker 2 (24:56):
Twenty seven is Sante Samuel.
Speaker 3 (24:58):
That one interests me too because he's younger than those
other corners. He just is injury stuff.
Speaker 2 (25:02):
The injury stuff is troublesome.
Speaker 3 (25:04):
Yeah, yeah, I think he's only twenty four though.
Speaker 2 (25:05):
Twenty five, thirty five, twenty eight is Alaric Jackson with
the Rams.
Speaker 3 (25:10):
I think he's gonnat paid pretty well.
Speaker 2 (25:11):
He's gonna get pay his twenty seven year old tackle.
Speaker 3 (25:13):
Yeah, exactly.
Speaker 2 (25:15):
Twenty nine DeAndre Hopkins. That one I wouldn't be on.
Speaker 3 (25:18):
That doesn't do much for him either, right, I guess
that he did play most of this year with a
bad knee. They didn't get any better. It is the
better in the end. Or you know, thirty is Nick Bolton.
That's a reasonably big loss for them if they, you know,
can't bring him back. Thirty one is Drake Greenlaw the
forty nine Ers. He's also maybe a year removed from
(25:39):
the injury. Helps but he's not gonna be a Steeler.
Speaker 2 (25:40):
But thirty two is Justin Reid the Chiefs.
Speaker 3 (25:45):
He's a really good player. I think he's underrated player.
He can do some slot stuff, but they're not going
to sign it. No, you know.
Speaker 2 (25:51):
Thirty three is Kalais Campbell, thirty nine years old.
Speaker 3 (25:54):
Right, he'd be next to nothing. I mean, I can't
imagine him, you know, being a Steeler, No, I can
you know? He still contributes, Yeah, he's a free I
just I don't know what you pay him and what. Yeah, yeah,
I mean that's how he was a year ago in
the market and he get a lot.
Speaker 2 (26:14):
Thirty four Aaron Jones, it's your first running back.
Speaker 3 (26:17):
Yeah, it's pretty good one too.
Speaker 2 (26:19):
Thirty five Carlton Davis with the Lions.
Speaker 3 (26:23):
Sort of interest me. I mean, I think he's a
little his reputation is probably a little stronger than what
he is. He's also, he made decent money. I don't
know if he solves your problem. I don't either. It's okay,
it's upgrade, but it's not phenomenal. Thirty six is Mackay Beckton.
I don't think they'll be in. I assume he's gonna
(26:45):
be a guard for life. I think so. Yeah.
Speaker 2 (26:47):
Thirty seven is Chase Young.
Speaker 3 (26:49):
He had played really quiet, quietly, had a very good year. Yeah,
I'm he's not higher on that list. Team Yeah. Thirty
eight Cam Robinson if someone will pay him as a starter,
but that's the borderline.
Speaker 2 (27:02):
Thirty nine Jamie and Sherwood, linebacker for the Jets.
Speaker 3 (27:06):
I don't know a ton about him, but I mean
I know he've had a decent year and still young. Yeah,
forty Justin Fields. Yeah, he's ahead of Wilson on the list.
He's younger. Yeah. Yeah.
Speaker 2 (27:22):
Forty one Nate Hobbs, cornerback for the Raiders.
Speaker 3 (27:24):
That one interests me. Yeah, I mean I think he
can play outside. It's not what you want to do
with him. But he's over six feet. He's mostly a slot.
He's a quality player. I don't think his contract would
be Insane'd be nice to have a plus slot player.
Speaker 2 (27:44):
Yeah. And it hasn't become official yet, but apparently Gerald
Alexander's agent has gone out and said that the Steelers
are bringing him back. He was with the Raiders last
year with their coaching staff. He was their safeties coach
last year.
Speaker 3 (28:00):
Oh okay, I didn't know you're talking about coaches. So
you have some a guy who had eyes on okay
last year. He dealt with him a ton. Yeah. No,
people love him. He's a tough guy. That's a real
good target.
Speaker 4 (28:11):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (28:12):
Forty two Juwan Johnson, tight end out of New Orleans.
That's your first tight end.
Speaker 3 (28:17):
Not a great year. He's a move guy, means more receiver.
Speaker 2 (28:19):
Not a great year to be a free agent tight end.
Speaker 3 (28:21):
No, especially this draft class too.
Speaker 2 (28:23):
Forty three Ul Douglas. He doesn't really interest me.
Speaker 3 (28:26):
I know he looks the part, but you don't know
that fixed your problem either. Forty four Darius Slayton. That
interests me. That would be downfield outside receiver. Yeah.
Speaker 2 (28:37):
Uh.
Speaker 3 (28:38):
Forty five Tyron Smith. I don't know if he'll played
football next year. Yeah, tough.
Speaker 2 (28:46):
Forty six is do Eddie ingbo edge rusher out of Indianapolis.
Speaker 3 (28:51):
Yeah, and former first round pick. It's never really worked out.
Injuries too, He's not gonna be for the Steelers.
Speaker 2 (28:57):
Forty seven Dan Moore junior. Forty eight James Daniel.
Speaker 3 (29:03):
Yes, I think Daniels is like right behind him on
the list. Yeah.
Speaker 2 (29:05):
Remember forty nine Levi Osrinki Osa Riki Osera Rique.
Speaker 3 (29:11):
I should say also not probably for the Steelers.
Speaker 2 (29:13):
The interior defensive lineman.
Speaker 3 (29:16):
Uh. Fifty Keenan Allen, he doesn't Yeah, I don't think.
Speaker 2 (29:19):
Yeah, it has to be real cheap. Fifty one DJ Jones.
Speaker 3 (29:24):
That's one veteran name. I like he's thirty ish. I
think he's thirty. He's a nose, he's a run stuffer.
He's gonna make decent money coming off a good defense.
I'd rather draft that guy, don't get me wrong, but
and it just makes you a little older on defense.
Speaker 2 (29:40):
Yeah, another thirty year old, right, but he would they
could assure used him this year?
Speaker 3 (29:45):
No, Yeah, you know what I mean.
Speaker 2 (29:47):
Fifty two Dante Fowler.
Speaker 3 (29:49):
Yeah, he's having a pretty good year.
Speaker 2 (29:50):
He's now thirty one. Yeah yeah, Edge Gay fifty three,
Russell Wilson. Fifty four Ryan Kelly.
Speaker 3 (29:58):
I don't know if he'll come back either. He kind
of feels like a Zach Martin culture bus type guy. Yeah.
Speaker 2 (30:03):
Thirty two he's at injuries too. Fifty five is Tevin Jenkins.
Speaker 3 (30:10):
He's starting to play a lot better and moved him
from tackle to guard.
Speaker 2 (30:12):
I don't know how anybody named Tevin can ever uh.
Fifty six Marquise Brown.
Speaker 3 (30:21):
I think he's gonna make a pretty decent bock. I
don't know if he will or not. I mean, they're
just not many good receivers out there. It just it'd
be higher on this list. For me.
Speaker 2 (30:29):
There wasn't a I mean, he didn't show a ton
this year. No coming back, there's not much tape to
even really go. Fifty seven is Elijah Moulden.
Speaker 3 (30:40):
Doesn't do a lot for me.
Speaker 2 (30:42):
Fifty eight Dante Jackson.
Speaker 3 (30:44):
Yeah, I hope he signs a nice contract elsewhere.
Speaker 2 (30:47):
Fifty nine is Baron Browning the edge rusher.
Speaker 3 (30:50):
Out of the kind of like zone. But they'd be
four here. Yeah.
Speaker 2 (30:54):
Uh. Sixty DeMarcus Lawrence fin me that that low thirty
three years old older.
Speaker 3 (31:00):
Coming off of an injury.
Speaker 2 (31:01):
Sixty one Mike Hilton.
Speaker 3 (31:03):
I'm not interested in bringing him back anything. He's thirty
fours right, he was never fasted again.
Speaker 2 (31:07):
With sixty two Naujie Harris, that's your number two running back.
Speaker 3 (31:11):
Yeah, someone's gonna like him.
Speaker 2 (31:13):
Sixty three Zach Ertz, that's your number two tight end.
Speaker 3 (31:17):
Have a pretty good year.
Speaker 2 (31:19):
Sixty four Patrick McCarry.
Speaker 3 (31:22):
You'd love to have him. I just don't know what
the cost.
Speaker 2 (31:24):
Honestly, I think he should probably be higher just because
he can fiel right.
Speaker 3 (31:28):
The versatility is really important. He's not a master of
any but he's a jack of all, you know. Yeah. Uh.
Speaker 2 (31:36):
Sixty five Dammy Brown with the Commanders.
Speaker 3 (31:39):
What's that do for you?
Speaker 2 (31:43):
He's twenty five years old, He's he's flashed produced.
Speaker 3 (31:46):
Yeah, he's downfield, dude? Is he is? He too?
Speaker 2 (31:50):
Calvin austen Lake, he's bigger he's bigger than him, but yeah,
not a great deal bigger.
Speaker 3 (31:54):
No, I mean I think he's a lesser Slaton. Yeah,
you know that's a good way to put it. Yeah, Yeah,
I mean I'd still be in the market for an
early draft pick if that's all you did. Yeah, he
would be useful though. Sixty six JK. Dobbins. Yeah, I
bet he. I bet he's a starter somewhere next year.
Speaker 2 (32:14):
Sixty seven is Levante David really declining?
Speaker 3 (32:17):
I would assume he's gonna be a buckeror nothing.
Speaker 4 (32:19):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (32:20):
Sixty eight Morgan Moses. I mean he's not for the Steelers. Yeah,
I wonder if he's someone pays him like a starting
right tackle.
Speaker 2 (32:29):
Sixty nine is bj Hill?
Speaker 3 (32:31):
What about that one? Again? I'd rather draft I know,
I'd rather have Jones from the Broncos by a lot. Yeah,
but I don't think Hill was the problem. But I
don't know if he's the answer either. Yeah.
Speaker 2 (32:44):
That the tape wasn't pretty this year for anybody on
that defense.
Speaker 3 (32:48):
Another thirty year old defensive lineman doesn't really make me
do cartwheels, but I could. I'm interested in Jones. Seventy
is Bobby Wagner. I wonder if he comes back. Yeah,
maybe it was okay this year. Seventy one is EJ.
Speaker 2 (33:01):
Speed Fine, yeah, seventy two Derek Barnett. Seventy three played
with last year the Texans.
Speaker 3 (33:10):
Okay for my first round.
Speaker 2 (33:12):
Seventy three is Dennis gardeck edg Rusher for the Cardinals.
Speaker 3 (33:15):
Better than people think. Another thirty one year old is right?
He getting a legal old late bloomer.
Speaker 2 (33:20):
Seventy four Andre Cisco not a decent player.
Speaker 3 (33:23):
I mean he is a decent player. I mean he'd
be your third safety year kind of all little if
he could play right.
Speaker 2 (33:32):
Not a kid anymore. Cisco is not a kid any
He's twenty five.
Speaker 3 (33:37):
Uh.
Speaker 2 (33:37):
Seventy five Jeremy Chin.
Speaker 3 (33:40):
I like him as an in the box, versatile safety.
Had a decent year, But I don't know if they'll
be in the market for those guys either.
Speaker 2 (33:45):
Seventy six is Julian Blackman, a lot.
Speaker 3 (33:48):
Of I always liked him, Yeah, a lot of safeties.
I was thinking that though, I mean, as I was
scanning this list the first time, Like, does the first
two waves of free agency go by and Chin or
black and still out there and you have more cap
space than everybody else, and you say he's better in
KZ and you know you could upgrade that. You're not terrible.
Speaker 2 (34:07):
We're going to play three a lot at times, and
guys get hurt and Okay, if.
Speaker 3 (34:12):
It's a buyer's market, which I expect it will be.
Speaker 2 (34:15):
Seventy seven is John Reid. I always liked him, but
he's he's thirty two now.
Speaker 3 (34:21):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (34:21):
Seventy eight is Pulse in a debo. That's one of
my faves. I'd like it's playing quite well. He broke
his jaw, he gets targeted like crazy. Teams just throw
at him.
Speaker 3 (34:32):
Yeah, he wouldn't be the answer. It would be to
me a debo Trice and a second round pick.
Speaker 2 (34:38):
Yeah, I'd rather roll the dice with Trice.
Speaker 3 (34:41):
I don't think a day would be real expensive coming
off an injury, though he's younger. Sometimes you get what
you pay for too. You shut out on one of
the better guys. Well.
Speaker 2 (34:49):
Yeah, seventy nine Jedrick Wills, Yeah, pronounce right, Yeah, he did.
Speaker 3 (34:54):
It's bigger type here. Uh eighty AZ's ohjell. I'm surprised
he's that low. I am too. I mean he's the
first contract guy he's flashed he's probably way back. I
would think someone pays him like a starter.
Speaker 2 (35:08):
Eighty one Robert Splaine.
Speaker 3 (35:11):
There's still a lot of love for him. It's fine.
I would think the Raiders bring him back.
Speaker 2 (35:17):
Eighty two Stefan Gilmour, he's what thirty thirty four thirty four,
thirty four?
Speaker 3 (35:23):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (35:23):
Eighty three is Mike GIESICKI someone.
Speaker 3 (35:26):
Want to use him, maybe maybe the Bengals.
Speaker 2 (35:30):
Eighty four is Matthew Judon.
Speaker 3 (35:32):
Kind of disappointing year.
Speaker 2 (35:34):
Yeah, well he's thirty three now, might be done. Eighty
five Poona Ford. That's not a bad player. I don't
think he fits what the Steelers want. I mean, he's
like five to ten. He's a ball somebody. Somebody just
went ahead and pushed.
Speaker 3 (35:49):
I can't imagine them and being interested in that guy.
Speaker 2 (35:51):
But eighty six Ben Brettison the third for the Buccaneers.
Speaker 3 (35:57):
He's a starter.
Speaker 2 (35:57):
Eighty seven Brandon Sure if this must be the guarded
are here m m. Eighty eight Harrison Smith. Harrison Smith's
got to resem with the Vikings if he goes anywhere, right.
Speaker 3 (36:07):
He's one of these. He's like Zach Martin.
Speaker 2 (36:09):
Yeah, like he's got to be a life thirty six
years old if he plays at all. Eighty nine Chauncey Golston, Yeah,
not real exciting, No, ninety Threll Dodson.
Speaker 3 (36:20):
Okay, not real exciting.
Speaker 2 (36:23):
Ninety one DeMarcus Robinson, how old?
Speaker 3 (36:29):
Thirty eight?
Speaker 2 (36:30):
That doesn't excite me a whole lot, nor does ninety
two Will Hernandez. Ninety three is Kelvin Beacham. I can't
believe he's still for him. Yeah, good, tremendous.
Speaker 3 (36:39):
Yeah, seventh round pick that's still hanging on.
Speaker 2 (36:41):
Put it this way, Kelvin Beacham turned into James Connor
for the Steelers.
Speaker 3 (36:47):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (36:47):
Yeah, for the the comp pick that they got for
losing Kelvin Beacham was James Connor, and James Connor's hanging life, right.
Speaker 3 (36:54):
Yeah, that's pretty crazy.
Speaker 2 (36:56):
Good for Kelvin Beacham. Yeah.
Speaker 3 (36:58):
Ninety four Christian Fulton, again it's a consolation prize. Doesn't
do a lot for him. Now he's a high upside guy. Yeah,
there's the ability there.
Speaker 4 (37:07):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (37:09):
Uh.
Speaker 2 (37:09):
Ninety five Kaisier White linebacker they want.
Speaker 3 (37:13):
Yeah. Ninety six Mike Williams, I get it. I could
see somebody giving him better than the league minimum. Yeah.
Speaker 2 (37:23):
Ninety seven is Tershawn Morton, rotational guy.
Speaker 3 (37:28):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (37:28):
Yeah, ninety eight Alamode Zekias, the wide receiver with the Falcons.
Speaker 3 (37:33):
He's not terrible, He's kind of more of the same
of what you have.
Speaker 2 (37:36):
Yeah, ninety nine Justin Simmons and one hundred. This one's
going to be interesting.
Speaker 3 (37:43):
Patrick Ricard, Yeah, I'm sure they want to keep him back,
keep him. Are other teams going to want to explore that?
I mean the Chargers do. Yeah, there are other teams
that want that type of player. Maybe no, maybe.
Speaker 2 (37:58):
I could see you know, somebody saying, hey, either way,
he's gonna cost them more money this year than he
probably did last year.
Speaker 3 (38:05):
Oh yeah, I mean it was a long time ago.
But remember when you check left there the Nighters, Madni
the highest paid fullback ever. You know, like people, if
you're after one, that's the guy you want.
Speaker 2 (38:13):
You want to create that kind of mentality. We're gonna
play big. How old is he thirty one?
Speaker 3 (38:20):
When I say he had to come in the league older,
I mean he wasn't a young pup. And folks, as
we always say, there's thirty to fifty other names that
are gonna get cut. Oh that's a big thing.
Speaker 2 (38:33):
And I mean this is nowhere near a final.
Speaker 3 (38:36):
Melt two or three of those guys, two or three
will get franchised, ten will re sign in the next
month or whatever. Eight maybe.
Speaker 2 (38:44):
But these these are the guys who are currently headed
for free. These are not the guys who've been cut
that will.
Speaker 3 (38:48):
Devanta Adams is on that.
Speaker 2 (38:50):
That'll start coming out here in the next couple of weeks.
We'll start hearing this guy's gonna catch Javon Hargraves not
on this list, but he already said cut him.
Speaker 3 (38:56):
Yeh, yeah, yeah, could be on that list.
Speaker 2 (38:58):
Aaron Rodgers could be on this listener, I don't know.
There a lot of them, right, but yeah, so it's
going to change. But that's that's an early look at that.
Speaker 3 (39:05):
And there was realistically maybe twelve names I would call
their agents.
Speaker 2 (39:10):
This is the Steelers when we look at and when
we say this is why you draft a defensive lineman
and maybe sign a corner. But there's more cornerbacks on
this list than there are defensive at tackles.
Speaker 3 (39:22):
Question, no question, Yeah, I don't mind the corner list. Yeah,
and the and the d tackle list. The guys I
like are thirty, right, I mean that's the thing. Do
you want to get older at that position?
Speaker 2 (39:31):
Yeah, not really, not really no, at some point you
do have to get younger at that.
Speaker 3 (39:36):
Spot than thirty year old. Aren't cheap always a little
more money. Yeah.
Speaker 2 (39:41):
Anyways, that's the early look at the free agent list
there from Damn Pazuta on the thirty third.
Speaker 3 (39:45):
Teams a lot.
Speaker 2 (39:47):
Yeah, he is Matt Williamson. I am Dale Lolly. You're
listening to the Drive here on the Steelers Audio Network,
and of course you can hear the Drive every Monday
through Friday on these very airwaves. You can also download
the Steelers Mobile app and get everything, all the greatest
content that's on there. And you can watch our YouTube
channel and leave us comments and tell us how dumb
(40:08):
we are and whatever whatever. Just ask questions. Do you
like to go on there? It could be nice to Yeah,
you can do that. But anyways, yeah, let's get to
a break again. He's Matt Williamson, I'm Dale LOLLI. This
is a drive on the Steelers Audio Network.
Speaker 1 (40:26):
At least he's the Drive with Dale Lolly and Matt
Williamson on your twenty four to seven Home of the
Black and Gold Steelers Nation Radio.
Speaker 2 (40:40):
And we are back. I am Dale, lolli. He is
the Matt Williamson and Matt to finish up the show here,
NFL dot com has.
Speaker 3 (40:48):
A little look here, a head at free agency.
Speaker 2 (40:50):
As well by Mattacotta and the six teams that will
be hit the hardest.
Speaker 3 (40:57):
Yeah, I'm gonna read that tonight. I think the way
that I interpreted it is these teams are got a
lot of work to do. Swinging up serious.
Speaker 2 (41:06):
Yeah, uh so, honorable mention goes to the Washington Commanders.
They have twenty eight unrestricted free agents. Yeah, that's over
half your team.
Speaker 3 (41:17):
That's an approach Some teams due like the Texans used
to do this when they were really bad, and you
know where they're just one year, one year rentals and
see what sticks. And that's great. You get a lot
of dudes given one hundred and ten percent and all that.
But then you got to figure out twenty eight roster spots. Yeah,
so that'll be interesting a couple of them. And yeah,
this last segment, you know, the Saints, they're a disaster.
Speaker 2 (41:38):
They're fifty four point one million dollars over the cap.
Speaker 3 (41:41):
I think the Browns are the only team in worst shape.
I don't know, who else is on this list, But
the Brown We've got detailed the Brown situation a lot.
They're in hideous shape. I think the Saints are in
the second worst.
Speaker 2 (41:53):
The top six for him. The Vikings are. They have
fifty eight million dollars in cap space. But you're looking
at Cam Robinson, Dalton Reisner, Aaron Jones, Harrison Smith, Byron Murphy,
Stefan Gilmour, Cameron buying them, Jonathan Bullard, Jack Griffin, Jerry Tillery,
among others that are going.
Speaker 3 (42:11):
To be there.
Speaker 2 (42:12):
And oh, by the way, what if they do want
to bring mack Sam Darnold.
Speaker 3 (42:15):
As saying Donald's the thing everyone's talking about. Oh, they
could franchise them trade and black they could. They have
no corners, I don't think under contract. I mean like
their top three or four on a Flores led defense.
And side note, with all their trades, they don't have
any day two picks. Also both safeties and both safeties. Yeah,
that's right, so the whole second of your entire secondary.
(42:36):
I don't know that you can bring Darnald back. I
mean maybe you can restructure Jefferson or something like that
and make some space, but that's a little Harry. They
pushed their chips in for McCarthy. Yeah, at five are
the Jets. They just need so much.
Speaker 2 (42:50):
They have twenty point nine million dollars.
Speaker 3 (42:52):
In cap space, don't have a quarterback. They don't. Did
they make more with Rogers release. Don't believe that they do.
I didn't think so either. Yeah. I think it costs
them money. I think it is dead money.
Speaker 2 (43:04):
You got guys like DJ Reed, Javon Kinlaw, Jamie and Sherwood,
Uh Solomon Thomas, Jalen Mills, Hassan Reddick, Tyron Smith, Morgan Moses.
Speaker 3 (43:14):
They both tackled. Yeah, I know they drafted one last
year with it.
Speaker 2 (43:16):
At some point they do have to look at extensions.
This is the problem with you trade Garrett Wilson drafting
all those guys in the same draft classes, which is fantastic.
But Sauce Gardner, Garrett Wilson and BRICEE.
Speaker 3 (43:27):
Hall, they're they're coming talked about Yeah, I'd like to
get out and Adams won't be back, you.
Speaker 2 (43:34):
Know, And are they going to be like, oh, so
this is gonna look really bad next year. I don't
want to be here.
Speaker 3 (43:39):
Yeah, I would say, like the Quinn and Williams of
the world, start looking at it like Miles Garrett and say, dude,
this isn't fun for me. I'm getting up in age.
I went out too.
Speaker 2 (43:49):
Yeah, the forty nine ers number four on this list.
They have forty eight dollars in cap space, but they
get to be signed brock Purty, which I think they
will extended. My should say Hafanga, Javon Hargrave, Savarius Ward,
Dre Greenlaw, Isaac Yeidam, Aaron Banks, who's a starting.
Speaker 3 (44:09):
Guard for them. We know Hardgrave won't be back. I
know that.
Speaker 2 (44:12):
Talking about wanting to get rid of Deebo Samuel like
they're going to clear.
Speaker 3 (44:16):
Out some space so they can. Debo is going to go.
Your quarterback's going to go.
Speaker 2 (44:20):
From making about two million dollars a year, he's gonna
make a lot more than that. Oh yeah, yeah, even
if you fifty no matter what you do in terms
of might not kill you this year, right know how
contracts go. But he's still going to cost you more
than two million. It's going to be ten million. Maybe
with the way you you know, but still.
Speaker 3 (44:37):
Trent Williams has been so important to you and he's
can't afford him super old. He's really expensive and he
had off the field tragedies. Maybe just retires, you know,
he didn't play at the end of the year. Three
is the Cowboys. I wouldn't have put them in that pile.
They have a lot of names.
Speaker 2 (44:55):
Minus two point eight million dollars, so two point eight
million over the cap because they signed Dak Prescott Ceedee
Lamb in the off season like a Parson.
Speaker 3 (45:03):
What's a deal? Yeah, Like people talk about Garrett going there,
I'm like, I don't know how you can afford that.
He's from Texas.
Speaker 2 (45:08):
You got DeMarcus Lawrence, Eric Kendricks, Jordan Lewis, Adiggie Zoo
Wah Zach Martin Martin. Yeah, right, what are you doing
with those guys?
Speaker 3 (45:17):
You still probably want to add a back, another receiver,
another pass catcher of some sort a lot on defense.
That's tough one.
Speaker 2 (45:25):
Yeah, the Falcons are eleven million dollars over the cap.
Speaker 3 (45:29):
They pushed their chips in pretty strong this past Yeah.
Speaker 2 (45:31):
Now cousins will take take care.
Speaker 3 (45:33):
Of some of that. Yeah. I think it's a lot
of dead money.
Speaker 2 (45:36):
Thought there's be some dead money involved. Justin Simmons, Mike Cues,
Matthew Judon.
Speaker 3 (45:42):
The Simmons and Juda moves late in the process or yeah,
pushing your chips into win now that didn't pay off.
Speaker 2 (45:48):
It didn't work out. And then you got guys pretty.
Speaker 3 (45:50):
Sure they gave up a third round pick for Judea
on two, which, yeah, they don't.
Speaker 2 (45:54):
Pitts, London, Tyler Algaeer, what are you doing with him?
Speaker 3 (45:58):
London's the one you want to extend, right, Yeah, and
then number one, worst cap situation. I'm not saying the
Steelers will do it because Arthur Smith, but Pitts could
be a guy that's a sneaky trade candidate. You know
that somebody might be interested in. You know, this one's
kind of Harry.
Speaker 2 (46:14):
The Dolphins eleven point six million dollars over the cap,
Jordan Poyer, Javon Holland, Emmanuel Augba, Kalas Campbell. You have
offenseting safety, offensive lineman Robert Jones, and Liam Mikenberg.
Speaker 3 (46:30):
It's not a great line to begin with.
Speaker 2 (46:31):
It's not a great line, but you're gonna lose a
lot on defense. You can't afford to lose them all.
Speaker 3 (46:36):
To his contract kicks up this year, I think too. Yeah,
a lot of talk with Tyreek being on the move,
it would.
Speaker 2 (46:42):
Make a lot of sense because they're gonna be way
over the cap. They're not winning next year.
Speaker 3 (46:45):
No, I wanted. I'm trying to think who else would
be attractive to other teams? Will give you kap relief.
Jalen Ramsey, maybe Tyreek. Certainly would Armstead be back. He's
almost in the same situation of like Trent Williams when
you need him to be. But I'm sure they don't
want to trade Wattle. But right, how about a year
ago Wattle could be it?
Speaker 2 (47:05):
Yea, you almost can't keep both of those guys. Obviously
you'd rather keep Wattle since he's a younger player.
Speaker 3 (47:10):
But guy, they look like they're going backwards. Yeah, looks
crazy as them and the Jets.
Speaker 2 (47:15):
You pushed all your chips in and didn't get anything
out of it.
Speaker 3 (47:18):
Yeah, the East looks pretty weak all of a sudden. Yeah,
I mean Buffalo. I do only Buffalo is going to
get better, and I think they'll probably be kind of
status quo. But they should run away with the division
next year. You would think, Yeah, the other teams are
bad shape. At least New England's going the right direction.
Speaker 2 (47:32):
Jets might be. They might battle Cleveland to be the
worst team.
Speaker 3 (47:34):
Say they're starting to really have that bottom outlook about them. Absolutely,
there's teams like the Saints like that too that are
pretty bleak, pretty winning games this year.
Speaker 2 (47:43):
Yeah, and it's this year now, next year. Now, we're
talking about this season, this upcoming season. Yep, good stuff.
So we're on onto the next one because it matters.
Speaker 3 (47:56):
It all matters. It doesn't matter, It doesn't matter anymore, right,
who cares? It matters, It matters a lot.
Speaker 2 (48:02):
