Speaker 1 (00:01):
Best Bits of the Week with Morgan Listener Q and A.

Speaker 2 (00:08):
Here we are in part three. It's time for listener
Q and A. We're gonna start with some shout outs. Amy,
you want to feel good real quick, sure, so I'll
take it. So happy for you and know you will
have a blast in Charleston, Britt in North Carolina, you
two are my fave.

Speaker 3 (00:24):
That comes from Haley.

Speaker 2 (00:26):
Just love you ladies from Nina and North Carolina. Love
and appreciate you both for being real and then loving
these versions of both of you right now from Sarah
like do you feel good? Yeah?

Speaker 3 (00:37):
Little start you guys.

Speaker 2 (00:38):
We love little shout outs. You guys are awesome. Okay,
kicking things off, What is your favorite part about your
kids at this age stage? From Bree in Virginia.

Speaker 4 (00:46):
I probably their personalities taking shape. Like I did a
post around my birthday talking about that, and uh, I
just pulled it up because Stevenson got me a card
that said, you know you're getting old when you're boo
hang so low and then you open it up and
it says that you can have a mammogram and a
pedicure at the same time. Happy birthday, And I don't

(01:07):
even think he knows what a mammogram or a pedicure is.
But he just died laughing at this card and was
so proud of it. And I just love that that's
the card he picked out for me. And then he
gave it to me, and then his note inside was
really precious, and he even said, he wrote, I hope
you look at the front of the paper, just I

(01:28):
don't miss like the first part of the joke. And
then Stashira gave me a really sweet card and then
on the inside she put a bunch of coupons and
she said, good for one dot dot dot, like I
get to use them. These are good for anything, whatever
I decide. And then she said, to use your coupons,
you must let me stamp it. And it just reminded

(01:51):
me of her personality and how she's not going to
let anybody take advantage of anything. If I use her
those coupons, She's going to stamp it. And that coupon
is now null and VOYD is done.

Speaker 5 (02:02):
It's over. I cannot cash it in again.

Speaker 4 (02:05):
But she wrote the most thoughtful letter or any word
she's ever shared with me. It was written in that card.
And I think now that she's seventeen, she's able to
express herself more and she has more vocabulary than she's
ever had before. And so I think that that's my
favorite part is watching them grow up and their sense

(02:28):
of humors like Stevenson's is just amazing. And then with
Stashira us just being able to talk about things more
like friends.

Speaker 3 (02:38):
In a way.

Speaker 4 (02:38):
I'm still her mom, but once she turns eighteen and
then in the next two years will shift from some
parenting stuff and coaching vibes to more friend vibes. And
I'm excited for that because it's fun getting to know
her in that way.

Speaker 3 (02:55):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (02:55):
Oh, it's so crazy that they're growing up. It feels
like just yesterday that they were so young. Do Amy's
kids still speak Creole Claire in Nashville.

Speaker 4 (03:04):
Stevenson does not, and Sashia kan a little bit, and
she's taking French in school, so which Creole and French
are similar? So Stashira yes, Stevenson no, all right, And
I would say with Sashira, she can understand it more
than she can speak it at this point, but hopefully
we'll get back. We've been in touch with her aunt,

(03:25):
who has moved to America from Haiti. And they have
been communicating on WhatsApp and talking more, and she's even
talked with her mom a little bit, but her mom
is still in Haiti, and I think we're going to
try to meet up with her aunt in person at
some point and hopefully just being around them more will

(03:45):
bring some of it back.

Speaker 1 (03:46):
Oh.

Speaker 2 (03:47):
I love that. That's a I haven't heard that update.
What does Stashira want to do for a living? She's
so so business savvy Laura from New Mexico. Yeah, right
now she is thinking about esthetician school. Oh okay, didn't
see that one coming to me neither.

Speaker 5 (04:04):
But it's just something that she's been talking about casually.

Speaker 4 (04:06):
And then I have some friends that do that and
they're like, she can come shadow me anytime, and she's like, yeah,
when can I go?

Speaker 5 (04:11):
I want to go?

Speaker 4 (04:11):
And she texts them and ask them questions and she's
asked them what schools they've gone to and what they
recommend and oh yeah, so we'll see what happens.

Speaker 2 (04:19):
But dang, yeah, it was not I always like prepared
for her to be a CEO or something really like, oh, well.

Speaker 4 (04:23):
She wants to own her own business, so yeah, and
she gets both. Yeah, she has said, well, I'll work
for myself, and then I'll have some people maybe that
work under me, and so if I ever want to
go on vacation or leave town, they can still continue
to take care of people's.

Speaker 5 (04:38):
Faces and I'll go on a trip.

Speaker 3 (04:41):
I love this for her. She has it all figured out.
I need to be more like Sashia.

Speaker 2 (04:45):
I feel like in my life, did your cousin know
or warn you about the divorce before it happened? Don
in Missouri? Uh?

Speaker 4 (04:52):
Gosh, this would be going way back. But yes, she
did have inkling and inkling, a feeling, a knowing of
it of sorts. And no, she did not come out
and tell me, because that's not how she operates. And
I do think she was encouraging me and guiding me

(05:12):
to get my affairs in order to get my ducks
in a row. I was not involved in our finances
at all. I've shared a lot about this. That was
by my choice. When we first got married seventeen years ago,
I didn't want anything to do with paying bills or
opening bills or anything like that, so it just money

(05:34):
freaked me out. I didn't like looking at our bank account.
I didn't know anything, so I didn't at the time
that I knew maybe a divorce was on the horizon.
Actually it wasn't until because I didn't take my cousin's advice,
So it wasn't until the divorce was happening that I
really knew how to log in and look at things.
And it was so overwhelming. But I am a story

(05:56):
of hope and encouragement. It is possible, and you can learn,
and you can and do it without getting freaked out,
because I used to just get like a lump in
my throat, like I didn't it just feelings in my body.
I didn't like the way I felt when I had
to deal with finances. I just like didn't trust myself
or something. And she said at one point, I remember

(06:17):
I was pacing around my room on the phone talking
to her and she said, Amy, at this point, I
did not think I was getting a divorce at all.

Speaker 2 (06:24):
Was over.

Speaker 5 (06:24):
It was still not an option.

Speaker 4 (06:26):
She said, you need to get involved in your finances.
And I was like, where is this coming from. That's
not even what I'm talking to you about. And she's like,
do it now. It will be empowering, And I was
thinking empowering, what is she even talking about and I
got to tell you it is it is so empowering
to know what's coming in and what's going out. And
it's not about the amount. It's just about knowing and

(06:48):
having control. And that's one of the first things she
said to me, and I know it's because she was like,
something's about to happen and you're about to get a
reality check and you need to have your stuff in order.

Speaker 5 (07:00):
And I didn't listen to her though.

Speaker 2 (07:02):
Yeah, So, so next time somebody gets a inkling with you,
maybe just you know, give.

Speaker 4 (07:05):
It a second thought, especially if they're your cousin and
they claim to be a psyche.

Speaker 5 (07:08):
Just you know, very important to tell there.

Speaker 2 (07:11):
Have you learned anything new about yourself since dating someone,
since divorce Amy and Mississippi?

Speaker 4 (07:16):
Yeah, I have learned that our nervous systems are fascinating
and they can change, which we know that, but to
experience it is really awesome. And I've experienced it, like
now I know what it's like. And this has nothing
to do with my relationship with Ben and this is
my own nervous system and things I probably even brought

(07:38):
into our marriage. So I was part of the problem.
Ben was part of the problem. There's nothing against Ben,
but how I was living and operating. I don't have
that in this relationship, and it is It feels calm
and secure, and I'm not looking for chaos. And I

(07:59):
chased cachaos for a while because chaos is what I
was used to, So my nervous system was like, well,
wait a second, and there's no chaos.

Speaker 5 (08:06):
This is boring.

Speaker 4 (08:06):
And so I have learned what that feels like to
make that shift, and I think that that would happen
that shift had happened because of the work I was
doing without this relationship. But this relationship is showing me
what it's like to have what my new baseline is,
and how great it is to sort of stay there

(08:28):
and not have to like do this dance to go
chase like a high. Yeah.

Speaker 2 (08:33):
And because it's also testing your new baseline, you would
have never been able to test it until you entered
into a new relationships or.

Speaker 4 (08:40):
Unless been and I did a complete which we you
know that could have been possible, but that just wasn't
what was in store for us. But I do think
that a transformation like that could happen for a couple.
So I don't want people to give give up because
you can find a new baseline in your current relationship.

Speaker 5 (08:56):
But it takes probably.

Speaker 2 (08:57):
Both people, definitely both, but I don't think it could
be a one sided journey. Okay, we're gonna take a
quick break.

Speaker 3 (09:02):
We'll be right back.

Speaker 2 (09:07):
Do you have lots of birds at your new home?
Fellow bird guardian and angel believer Ashley from Louisiana.

Speaker 4 (09:14):
Yes, I've got my cardinals and a blue jays and
my little chickadees, and I feel like. There was some
cardinal babies bouncing around my yard the other day, so
much that I went to google what does a cardinal
baby look like? Because they didn't have the bright orange beaks.

Speaker 5 (09:32):
And they were red. No, they were sort of like.

Speaker 4 (09:35):
A grayish brownish. But the babies they could look they
look like all kinds of they evolve into what they're
supposed to be, so I didn't know. But there was
a brown cardinal and a red cardinal, which the brown's
the female and the red is male. So I was like,
is that the mom and the dad and these are
baby cardinals? And this is a sign that I'm gonna
have a baby.

Speaker 3 (09:56):
This is a new sign.

Speaker 4 (09:57):
I didn't know about this sign. But then I was like, also,
oh is that? I'm like, are my eyes working? Because
that could just be like another baby bird or a
little tiny chickadee.

Speaker 5 (10:06):
So I went to google what does a baby cardinal
look like? And I don't know. These are pretty close.

Speaker 4 (10:11):
So I've been looking for a little nest to see
if they have a home nearby, but I haven't found it.
But that the bright orange beak develops over time, they
are not born with it.

Speaker 2 (10:22):
Interesting, FYI I did not know that me neither, so
that makes sense too. I wonder with like eagle babies,
if they're born with their yellow beaks.

Speaker 5 (10:30):
I would think not. I think it's probably the same.

Speaker 4 (10:31):
I don't know, but I think if that's how the cardinal,
once it matures, it comes about same thing might.

Speaker 2 (10:38):
Be with the equal All right, how excited are you
about the cruise? I'm pumped, Morgan?

Speaker 3 (10:44):
Are you going? Also? Leah?

Speaker 5 (10:45):
And Yeah, are you going?

Speaker 2 (10:47):
I don't at this moment, I don't think so oh
hopefully that will change time.

Speaker 5 (10:52):
Yes, I'm excited.

Speaker 4 (10:54):
I'm I mean, we've never done anything like this, so
I'm always game for doing something new and then traveling
more is on my list, so this helps.

Speaker 5 (11:04):
Me a lot because it's like or to travel for work.
So boom boom check check.

Speaker 2 (11:10):
Yeah. Well, each of you share your favorite and least
favorite bit of all time. Sean from Nevada love you guys.
If you need a second, I can, I can go.

Speaker 4 (11:18):
I already know my least favorite bis at the time
names involves me. But it's the time I had to
take the hottest shot in the world. Oh yeah, I
thought I was gonna die, not joking. So that's a
really bad one. I mean, but that's just a one
time bit. I guess if there's a like, is there
something we do over and over that I don't really like?
I mean, the wheel in general is just always a

(11:39):
little stressful.

Speaker 3 (11:40):
Heartbeat goes up real fast when that thing comes out.

Speaker 4 (11:43):
Except for lately we've been doing the you get to
talk about whatever you want for a minute, so the
selfish wheels kind of awesome hasn't landed on me yet.

Speaker 2 (11:51):
It's landing on Landard like three dimes.

Speaker 4 (11:54):
Yeah really, so that's probably I don't know, that's my
least favorite the shot. And then I don't know, I'm
not a big fan of what's the one we do
with the We each pick three and then people.

Speaker 3 (12:08):
Vote, Oh, the draft, you know, like the draft.

Speaker 5 (12:12):
I don't. It's not my favorite. I'm like kind of.

Speaker 4 (12:14):
Bored, okay, and then I get nervous, like oh because
I actually think, I stress of what people are going
to vote for. And then I'm like, okay, this is
just a silly game. Who cares, relax, But that's not
my favorite.

Speaker 2 (12:27):
What's your favorite?

Speaker 5 (12:30):
You still love name that tune? I wish you could
play that more fun, gosh. My favorite is just when we.

Speaker 4 (12:41):
Are all just like talking, not doing a bit, just
kind of fun. We're just free flowing and.

Speaker 2 (12:46):
Just conversation going naturally in different drugs.

Speaker 4 (12:48):
Yeah, which is just I get hard to do on
the radio show. So probably the way we're doing the
new podcast.

Speaker 5 (12:53):
I like that, okay.

Speaker 2 (12:55):
Yeah. My least favorite was the time that I had
to sing karaoke on there.

Speaker 3 (12:59):
Not all karaoke.

Speaker 2 (13:01):
Is when my mother decided to tell Eddie and Lunchbox
about the fact I wanted to be a singer, and
then I had to basically audition.

Speaker 3 (13:07):
For the show.

Speaker 2 (13:08):
And it was I cried before and after, not like
out of anything bad that happened, but just out of
like so much that I just did not want to
experience again in my life.

Speaker 3 (13:17):
So that one was sad and it still lives.

Speaker 4 (13:19):
On YouTube to this day. Oh yeah, it's worse. Yeah,
not just you're thing, just any of our stuff that
lives on forever. It's like a cringe.

Speaker 3 (13:27):
Yes, it's all there.

Speaker 2 (13:29):
And then favorite, I always love when we do challenges.
I feel like the challenges are just so much fun
when we whether we're getting out of the studio or
we're in studio doing something. I just love when we're
like having a challenge against each other, like the time
Lunchbox and I tried to change a tiger faster than
each other, or like when we've gone to basketball courts

(13:49):
and done shooting challenges or the foot.

Speaker 5 (13:52):
Still supposed to do one.

Speaker 3 (13:54):
Yeah, those are fun.

Speaker 2 (13:54):
I love It's it's because I loved field trups going up.

Speaker 3 (13:58):
I cannot talk today.

Speaker 2 (13:59):
It's because I loved field trips growing up, and I
feel like those are field trips to me, Like we
get a day out of the studio, so fun field trips. Okay,
And last one, what would be your perfect idea for
a company retreat? Chris and Texas?

Speaker 4 (14:13):
Okay, I already have this planned out in my mind.
I think about it all the time, but I think
that we're taking a full blown retreat.

Speaker 2 (14:21):
Yeah, this is totally to you, like you to plan it.

Speaker 5 (14:24):
All, right, Well, we're going to go.

Speaker 4 (14:26):
First of all, we're gonna stay somewhere and it's going
to be like a weekend retreat. And when we get there,
we get to like have a nice dinner and some
fun games, and then maybe there's a campfire with some
s'mores and then we just really it's been a long week,
so we're just going to do that, and then we'll
get some good sleep and in the morning we wake
up and we all do like a morning hike together,

(14:48):
maybe a meditation, and then we have a leader. We
have somebody there that's like they advise people on how
to build better bonds and have a stronger relationship and
how to work through like you know, like some corporate
therapist sorts, and they guide us through activities that will
help us laugh together and cry together and have fun together.

(15:13):
And yeah, I guess I don't know exactly what those
activities are because I'm not the expert, but that's where
we would be.

Speaker 5 (15:19):
We would be with the expert, and then we'd probably.

Speaker 4 (15:22):
Break for lunch and we'd have that and then we'd
go do some activity together, maybe play sport, like a
game of something, and then we relax with the sound
bath and maybe a workout or maybe another meditation.

Speaker 3 (15:37):
This is like kind of intertwined to like a well treat.

Speaker 4 (15:40):
It would be it would be we're taking care of ourselves,
but they're also because because doing some of that hard work,
like the laughter and the crying and the things that
get you there, that's that's exhausting. So you got to
do the other things to take care of yourself. And
then we're nourished with amazing food and yeah, I think
the whole thing.

Speaker 5 (15:57):
Yeah, massages like this would be great. He's paying for it,
so that's no problem.

Speaker 4 (16:03):
It works out. Yeah, so thank you, Bobby. But yes,
I could play on a retreat.

Speaker 5 (16:08):
I just am not.

Speaker 4 (16:09):
I don't know what activities we need exactly, but I
know that we could go do something amazing and we
could do certain we'll call them games, but they would
be interactive therapy.

Speaker 3 (16:22):
Maybe.

Speaker 2 (16:23):
Yeah, I still think you should keep trying to make
this happen because think about all the content that also
comes from this.

Speaker 5 (16:28):
Let's call it. It's actually experiential therapy.

Speaker 4 (16:32):
Okay, you're using your body, you're getting up, you're interacting.

Speaker 5 (16:37):
Yeah, I love this.

Speaker 2 (16:38):
Yes, I'm on board.

Speaker 5 (16:39):
Bonding. Let's go gropes core stuffed, the trust fall.

Speaker 2 (16:44):
The trust fall. Maybe maybe we can start with the
trust fall in studio. Maybe that's how we start to
get them into that direction. Okay, we thanks for coming on,
Thanks for joining me. Let the people know where they
can hear you. Find you all that good stuff at.

Speaker 4 (16:56):

sharing it. There's been so much time, and you've done
so much work, and there's so much healing and I
know that your story is going to help multiple people,
but even if it's just one, it was worth sharing.
