against Whitman and will Lammett's. It'sbeen eighty years since the Huskies have done
this. They've scored forty points ormore in four consecutive games to start the
year. Roman Dunsay just became thefirst receiver ever in the history of Husky
football to have one hundred yards ormore in four straight games. And the

Huskies put up forty five points onthe second half, which is the tied
for the most points and a halfever by this user, by this university,
This offense, and this football team. They just keep setting and breaking
records every single week and it didn'tstop tonight. And you know, us
odd about all of this. Thiswas a defensive win as far as episode,
because the defense came out and playedextremely well in the first half they

had to pick six. They setthe offense up for Phil gold In off
of one position after the kick returnedfor the touchdown. But yeah, this
offense is just a juggernaut. Wetalked about in a pregame that the only
whale way to stop this is ifwe somehow stop ourselves. I could say
that there's some ugly penalties where wecost ourselves a little bit and maybe even

gave Call a little bit of help, which is kind of a carry over
from last week because there are afew penalties, two many. So if
we want to think about what couldthis team do better clean those penalties up,
and hell, we may have hadseventy five points had we not committed
so many penalties. Yeah, youstarted this game with a pick chex by
Eddie or Lafoccio that went forty fiveyards for a touchdown. Up then forced

us a punt from California on theirsecond drive of the game. In Roma,
Doonesjay fill again for McMillan, whodid not playing the game tonight.
We'll wait and see what coach Duborsays about his availability for next Saturday in
Arizona. He takes the first puntof the game back for a touchdown.
And then when ud Up finally gotthe ball with five forty six to go
in the first quarter, they marcheight plays down the field and they go

up twenty one six on a touchdowncatch by Jalen Polk in the corner of
the end zone, which I gottatell you we're kind of arguing here in
the press box which catch was moreimpressive the catch to end the second half
by Roman Doonesday or the first touchdownby the offense to Jalen Polk going up
and over a cornerback. Yeah,Jitalen Polk has had some fantastic plays.
We talked about early also in thepregame that this young man is just a

big play person. He'll have achance to play on Sundays. He just
goes out and makes catch up,the catch up, the catch, and
you talked about this first half.We get to the second half and Jalen
Polk makes it cuts down the endzone of the dart throne by Michael PINNOCKX
And then what does Roman Dizzy do. He makes a testdown catch where he
has to spin around and go theopposite direction over the shoulder and stay in

bounce a lot of fireworks from MichaelPinnocks, a lot of great catches by
these white receivers, and a lotof points go open to scoreboard. Yeah,
it was fifty two to twelve guyswith eleven minutes to go in the
third quarter. I'm in this gameis over. There's a forty point game
with you know, twenty six minutesto go in the game. And you
just kind of wonder how many voters, how many AP voters will wake up

tomorrow morning and see a fifty nineto thirty two game and not have any
idea how this game went. Itkind of bugs me a little bit because
I just don't want to see anypoints put on the board by the Husky
defense. But you got everybody inthe game. Heck Jackson, Girard,
Dick, Baird's grandson even got toplay in the game tonight. You're getting
some valuable reps for some of thesebackups that could be needed down the road

starting next Saturday. Yeah, andyou got to get your main guys out
of the game early to protect themfrom any injuries or anything like that.
I think that the way the Huskiesare coming out and winning games early,
getting such a big lead second halvescan be either bore or sometimes a little
messy with pim least because you gotguys in the game who aren't used to
playing a lot, but they aregetting that valuable experience because somewhere down the

line you might need one of thesebackup players to play a major role,
and if they're coming off the benchfor the first time and haven't had any
live experience, it could be problematic. So this is fantastic to allow them
to play so much in the secondhalf. Let's face it, if the
Hussies keep their offense in, theykeep their primary defenders in, the game
will just continue to get out ofcontrol. So yeah, it doesn't look

as bad of a win on thescoreboard at the end of the game.
But if those writers take some timethey kind of look at the score when
it mattered, they'll see that theHussies dominated this game, just like they
have all seasons. Well, oneforty nine to go. On the third
you're up fifty two twelve, andthat is where actually, no, I'm
sorry, it was fifty two tonineteen and that's when Dylan Morris came into

the game. Demo got the finalsixteen forty nine of the game for you
to up. And how about howabout Ryan Group running a red zone fourth
and two, up thirty points withfive minutes left to go in the third
quarter with Michael PENNOCKX. What wasyour take on that. Yeah, we've
been praising coach Grubb, and rightfullyso, for his play calls and how

he's masterful and calling plays with theHuskies and getting these guys in a great
position to score touchdown and win footballgames. That one was a little shaky
to me. I mean, firstof all, you're going for it on
fourth and two, and then you'regonna have the most valuable player on your
team when the game is sort ofalready out of control, you know,
running the football. Would I don'tmind him being in at that point if

you're throwing the ball, and thereason is our offensive line does such a
great job. No one ever getsa chance to hit him when he's throwing,
so and you want to have himthose throwing stats a little bit,
so I thought it was a littleodd that he was running the ball on
fourth and two and putting himself injeopardy. But I'll say this, Ryan
Grubb does so much right it's hardto second guess or call him out on

anything because he's a wizard. Well, I mean, look this guy,
Michael Pennox, He's got sixteen touchdownsafter four games, and you're right,
some of the play calls at RyanGrubb made in the game today were marvelous.
And what I loved about the gametoday is and I still feel like
there was a ton of stuff towork on for this football team. He
mentioned the penalties. Kind of cleaningthose things up, like getting out blocks
by the defensive line at times inthis game was a little bit problematic.

The secondary had some issues today inthe game, I believe as a matter
of fact, on the was itthe second or third California touchdown, dup
secondary gave up twenty twenty five andtwenty four yard plays on the touchdown drive
that made it thirty one to twelve. Now again it was thirty one to
twelve. I understand that, rightyou're leading the game by twenty points,

for God's sakes, but you stillhad a lot of starters in the game
there and California was picking that defensivepart. Michael Pennox, for as good
as he was today, also hada terrible interception where he tried to force
the ball into double coverage to JalenPulk and the ball got picked off as
opposed to throwing it away. SoI feel like Washington put up fifty nine
points in this game, smoked atCalifornia defense by the way, that they

haven't scored this many points on Calliston'stwenty sixteen when they put sixty six on
him in Berkeley. And I stillfeel like there's a ton of stuff to
go back to the video room andlook at. Yeah, and starting with
the Michael Pennocks interception, one ofthe things that I've somewhat noticing. Again
this is me looking at the gameand reading into it what I know put
in there. I think he's sometimesfocused on making the big play so much

so that he doesn't take the underneathstuff. I saw, especially in that
the interception where early on in thatplay he could have thrown a dump off,
gotten the ball into a skilled player'shand and allow him to make a
guy miss get up the field.There was another play where he went to
the corner of the end zone toa guy who was pretty much covered up,

and he could have gotten roma dunziacross the middle potentially to get a
first down. To keep that drivegoing where I think we ended up kicking
field goals. So I think there'sstill some things that Michael Pennis can do,
you know, but we expect himto be perfect all the time,
and it's hard with this offense.I think sometimes for him to take the
stuff that the defense has given himwhen there's so many chunk plays out there.

So I think he could do that. I think defensively, there were
some penalties that we call we createdthat extended drives for cow you know,
the ztf off side on that play. You get out of that drive,
you're off the field, Cow's puttingthe ball and now we're going back the
other way, particilarly to score thatextended to drive for them, and they

were able to get a big playwith the touchdown on that drive. So
there's definitely some things to work on, including cleaning up the penalties and sometimes
maybe Michael taking what the defense giveshim instead of looking for the big play.
Yeah, I thought that was thatwas probably the worst defensive drive of
the game for you, Dub.You're talking about the off side penalty on
Zion. You Dub had gotten offthe field on third and four. Ztfellow

law aggressive right, jumps off sidesa bit early, and then you proceeds
to give up past plays of twentytwenty five and twenty four. Taj Davis
gets the touchdown. It's thirty oneto twelve after California fails on the two
point conversion. But the driver you'retalking about with Michael Pennox there maybe kind
of not taking what the defense isgiving him. And I totally agree with
you. I think it's really hardfor Mike Pennox to settle for an outlet

when he's so used to moving thatball down the field. How many years
did we complain about the lack ofa vertical offense for Washington. Well,
now they have maybe the best inAmerica. It is unbelievable to me,
it is the best in America.How fast this thing has changed? You
And I sat here with Coach Bairdin this very booth two years ago bitching

and moaning about John Donovan and JimmyLake and run the damn ball and not
having anything going downfield. A lotof these guys were on that football team,
including Roma Dunze and Jayleen McMillan,and now they're a part of maybe
the best offense in football. Butthe driver you're talking about, you Dub's
up twenty one to six. Californiagets the ball back. The Huskies blitz

Carson Bruner on third and eight,right up the guts. He gets in
Finley's face. He throws a pickto Tom Hampton, and the Huskies are
in business at the Cal twenty sevenyard line, and instead of taking what
the defense is giving him, Michaeltries to force the ball downfield. You
go three plays, you gain threeyards, and you settle for the field
goals. So that's the kind ofstuff that I'm certain that Ryan Grubb will

be looking at and talking to MichaelPennocks about. And I almost like it.
I like the fact that you putup fifteen nine points, by the
way, and you're going to Arizonaand thinking that you still have to sharpen
things up a little bit. Yeah. And actually, if you take the
interception for a touchdown, the puntreturn for a touchdown, and on that
particular drive where the defense game ofball, they didn't get anywhere and they

get the field goal, seventeen littlespoints were scored by someone else other than
the offense. And so you stillcan say, hey, you guys,
realistically, we scored thirty five pointsor whatever, and so we gotta get
better. We're gonna play some teamsthat are going to challenge us. We're
gonna play an Oregon who's dynamic.We're gonna play at Washington State who can

score a lot of points. We'regoing to be in a game against usc
where you know it might be thelast team with the ball who was the
football game. So you gotta continueto get better. Yes, we expect
perfection every time we watch these guysplay. No one's ever gonna be perfect.
But there's gonna come times during thisyear where we're going to be able.
We're gonna have to make those simpleplays to take given to us.

has that type of success out there. But I think with Jalen Heving potentially

a knee that's banged up or maybea little or something like that that you
want to protect him a little bit, and so you don't put him back
there doing those kinds of things thatcould potentially put him at risk and jeopardy.

I have never seen an offense functionlike this. Mean, I was happy
with the defense and the and thepick six and the you know, hey,
great, that looked really good.But the absolute prolification of them throwing

I mean, I don't want tobe in my Marshawn Lynch like over and
over and over and over and overagain. But you know what I'm talking
about. I mean, they justkeep doing it, and it's so impressive.
I have never seen anything like this. It's so impressive. I think

it's penis, but it's also Imean, we have the best. If
you tell me that we don't havethe best wide receiver corps in the country,
I would be shocked because I'm prettysure we do, right, and
it's not close. Well, Ithink listen, man. First of all,
I appreciate the call. There's justso much there to digest with this
offense. First of all, howmuch of this is Ryan Grubb greg how

much of this is the wide receivers? How much of it's Kavin the bore?
When Ryan Grubb takes off, howmuch of it is Michael Pennix?
The obvious answer is, well,all of the above, right, some
portion of all of above. Whatis the biggest portion, though, of
that engine in your mind that makesthis thing go? Well? I mean,
ultimately, I think it has tobe the guy who's pulling the trigger.

You know, there could be guyswide open running down the field so
the wide receivers have done their job. There could be Ryan Grebb calling the
good play guys are open. Butif Michael Pinnox can't get the ball to
the open receiver, if he can'tmake the right decisions in the moment that
happen, then of course the playwon't end up being successful. So I
think that, to me is themain person that has to be, you

know, the catalyst behind all this. But I think you left off one
portion of why this is so successful, and that's the offensive line. Because
they give Michael Pennox so much timeand he's able to see clearly, and
let's face it, you don't throwthe ball down the field over the top
unless you got the time to takeyour drops, make your read, let

the receiver get in a position wherehe's got a step, and then release
the ball and throw it. Sothe offensive line is also a big part
of the success that we're having awide receiver, and I think if you
take away any of those pieces,we don't have the amount of success that
we're having. I think you're totallyright, and part of that could be
scheme as well. Right by ScottHuff, You know what these guys do.
And I was talking to our opalHuey Millen about this the other day.

Because you've heard a lot of peoplethat have referenced the air raid offense.
This is not the air raid offensethat Washington's running here. And the
point was made about go back andlook at the line splits that Mike Leets
used to work with right at WashingtonState. You're not seeing any of that
from the Husky offense. So thisis not like other offenses in college football.
And then number two, Greg,great point about the offensive line because
