The Legend of Sleepy Hollow is a classic ghost story by Washington Irving, set in the quiet, eerie village of Sleepy Hollow. It follows the superstitious schoolteacher, Ichabod Crane, who competes with the local brute, Brom Bones, for the affection of Katrina Van Tassel, a wealthy farmer's daughter. One night, after attending a party at Katrina’s house, Ichabod encounters the ghostly Headless Horseman, a terrifying figure said to haunt the area. In a dramatic chase, the Horseman hurls his severed head at Ichabod, who mysteriously vanishes, never to be seen again.
