AAG was born over a decade ago yet the funny thing is I never knew it until recently. It was a term I used to bring myself back down after a poor performance or loss in Ice Hockey to help remind me that there is another game. I can’t dwell on the past I need to focus on the NOW and how that will help the FUTURE. Yet after retiring from the sport I loved, a lot of what made me mentally successful went out the window until one famous night. I was highly stressed on this infamous day and my parenting tolerance had reached it’s peak, so without shouting I sent the boys to bed early before it had the chance to reach that point. Only to come downstairs full of guilt and shame that I was not at my best and this is not what I wanted to be as a parent. Then it hit me... We get to go again tomorrow How can I be better for myself and my loved ones because that’s how I used to do things in my sporting career I would look for solutions not excuses and that is when it hit me that all the skills I learned playing sport can be used now in; 🧠 Parenting 🧠 Business 🧠 Self Improvement And now I get the pleasure of not only sharing my story via this personal development podcast but other incredible current and retired athletes, where they get to share the highs and lows of sport and most importantly how they use those learned skills in life away from the game Because unfortunately in my sport we have lost a number of incredible people who have lost their identity after playing and I wanted to remind you that you played a sport you don’t have to be the sport which can help you thrive in whatever you desire in life away from the game I am certain there is an episode for you Here in this personal development podcast is where you will delve deep inside the mind of an athlete so they can share the highs and lows of sport but most importantly how they utilise those skills to thrive in life away from the game. Our guests will be sharing insights from their sporting careers and where they are today because of them. This will help you see the skills you’ve gained over your life and where you can use them to be successful today You can always level up! Why Performance Optimisation is more than just skills... Most people think success comes down to; 👉🏼 Focus your skills in one area 👉🏼 Work harder 👉🏼 Work More game over, right? ❌ Wrong High performers don’t just rely on skill They optimise their body, mind, and energy like a Formula 1 car Because at the highest level, skill gets you in the game but performance keeps you winning (and who doesn't love to keep winning...

Do you prefer Playing on the Edge?
This was something that was drilled into us at a young age
That to be up there with the best you have to play of edge
Playing safe within sport wasn’t an option to stand out and succeed
And if you think about it now everyone you likely look up to in life
In some way stands out because they dare to be different
To do things that the majority won’t do
In today’s Shaun Short episode on ...

What if the cards are stacked against you?
because life is challenging

Inside the mind of the one that goes inside the athlete’s mind

I tried it once for a minute and wrote it off

Because without it then you will never see a peak physical performance
And on today’s episode of Always Another Game Podcast I have th...

I’ve never been a numbers guy…
The thought of any pressurised maths sends me into a bigger freeze state than Walt Disney
And many will argue and say that I need to get a handle on this
But in a team sport it doesn't matter if one player has scored 5 goals if you lose 8-5
You need the players who block shots, support you when you're down and bring the energy for the whole team just by how they show up
You see there are so ...
