Join me as I cozily enjoy The Book of Mormon one chapter at a time, every Monday and Wednesday! I make jokes, add insight, context, and (hopefully) further understanding. Come for the goofy jokes and the casual atmosphere... stay for the neat gospel truths in every chapter.
This episode is a bit of an epilogue to last chapter—the city of Ammonihah is completely destroyed by the Lamanites. In order to avoid anything like that happening in the future, Alma and Amulek begin to preach voraciously to help everyone who will listen hear and understand the word!

This episode, we read of Alma and Amulek in Sidom (after having left Ammonihah). They meet (and heal) a faithful Zeezrom, establish a church, and Alma acts as a true Christlike disciple towards Amulek.

This episode, we watch all of Alma and Amulek's progress with the people get literally burned to ash before their eyes. How do they deal with it? Do they get burned too (à la Abinadi)? Tune in to find out.

This episode, we continue listening (with great interest, in my case at least) to Alma's words to the people of Ammonihah. He covers things like the priesthood, God's foreknowledge, repentance, and most importantly—how to enter His rest.

This episode, we read as Alma takes the reins from Amulek, and teaches Zeezrom (and the people of Ammonihah) a bit about God. Somewhere in the middle, Zeezrom stops listening to tear them apart, and starts listening to understand. He begins to 'inquire diligently.'

This episode, we watch from the sidelines as Amulek takes head lawyer Zeezrom on head first! Clearly, as you can tell by the title, Zeezrom got absolutely schooled. Good for Amulek.

This episode, we read Amulek's first words to the people of Ammonihah! He goes absolutely ham when some lawyers try and get him to say something contradictory or criminal. He's too cool to get caught by something so.... amateurish (said with comic disdain).

I appreciate that the moment that Alma gets a partner, the people of Ammonihah start deriding him for being the "sole witness" of the gospel. Little do they know, eh?

In this episode we are introduced to Amulek, who will soon become Alma's epic missionary preaching buddy! Alma gets kicked out for preaching in Ammonihah, comes back after an angel told him to, then promptly meets and gets cared for by Amulek. What a homie fr

This episode, we read about how proud Alma is of his people in Gideon! They're chillin out being righteous, and so he naturally gets right down to business teaching about Jesus Christ.

This episode, we dig through Alma's first great (recorded) sermon, given to the wicked people in Zarahemla. Throughout it all, he poses amazing, thought-provoking questions, pushing his listeners (and readers) to truly evaluate ourselves.

Happy 100th episode! Here's to 100 more. This episode, we read Alma 4, in which Alma watches the church descend from being righteous to being worse than the nonbelievers. He decides to do something about it, and so he gives his chief-judgeship to Nephihah, and decides to strike out on his own as a missionary. Hoo boy am I excited.

This episode, we learn a bit about how the Amlicites are doing as they become part of the larger Lamanite culture. Do they mark themselves with red on their foreheads, potentially to signify blood? Gee, how'd you know.

This episode, we learn about another false prophet—this time, named Amlici. This guy is a lot more politically savvy than Nehor was, so Amlici actually almost gets elected as king. Not quite, though. And how does Amlici react to his loss? Why, he starts a civil war. Spoiler: I say "insane" like 7 times in this episode.

This episode, we begin the great and mighty book of Alma! This time around, Alma the younger is faced with a false prophet in his city, along with all of his wannabe copycat followers. How does one deal with a problem spreading through the city like a virus?

This episode, we read what feels like the epilogue to Mosiah—chapter 29. A system of judges is installed in the Nephite land—no more wicked kings (Noah, I'm looking at you)! Finishing off this era of the BoM and heading bravely into the next, we have rockstar missionary (and now chief judge/high priest) Alma the younger.

This episode, we read Mosiah 28—in which Alma the younger and his freshly angel'd homies get permission from King Mosiah (and God) to go preach to the famously hard-hearted Lamanites. Mosiah also translates the record of the Jaredites with some divine interpretive stones, no biggie.

This episode, we dig into Mosiah 27—in which Alma the Elder's wayward son (and his sons of Mosiah homies) get absolutely put in their PLACE by an angel of the Lord and Alma the younger spits BARS after he wakes up from his post-angel coma. This one's a good one.

This episode, we read as Alma freaks out about an outbreak of sin and hate in the city of Zarahemla. What does he do? He prays to God. And what does God do? He gives him the most epic of revelations to help deal with it. Does it work. You fricken bet it does.
