Be Clay

Be Clay

" You are the Potter, I am the Clay! " Like me, you may have heard this phrase multiple times and even said it yourself. Whether you are in the church or not, this has become a popular phrase; that eventually in some cases became a cliché. However, has it crossed your mind what it really means to say " I am the Clay"?When you hear this phrase, you may imagine the positions of a “Potter” and “Clay” in this relationship. Understanding that the “Potter” makes and molds the clay to the desired finished product. You understand that the “Potter” knows the process needed to obtain the product's intended purpose. You may even imagine a “Potter” molding clay on the Potter’s wheel into a bowl. It is only possible for the clay to become a bowl if it cooperates with the Potter. The clay has to understand that its duty is only to be molded. The “Potter's” purpose will never come to fruition if the “clay” is non-cooperative. Here on the “Be Clay” podcast, we will talk about how to accept and endure the duty of clay, as we allow the Potter to perform the same. We will explore the positions of “The Potter” and “The Clay” and the dynamics of each role. In the past years, I have learned and am still learning the roles of “The Potter” and “The Clay”. I have come to the realization that I was not fulfilling the role of “The Clay”. Instead of allowing “ The Potter” to mold me, I was fighting back and trying to mold myself. You can imagine what a mess I made! If you can relate, know you are not alone. “You are the Potter, and I am the Clay” will not be just something you say, but you will learn and understand your role and “ Be Clay”

2023 was a controlled demolition of my false identity. But entering 2024? That’s where the real test began. In this episode of Be Clay, we are diving headfirst into the raw, uncut truth of the healing journey.

It all started when I fell down a rabbit hole after hearing about the B. Simone and Megan Ashley “Know For Sure” breakup. What began as looking into a viral internet situation turned into a li...

You ever look up and realize you’ve been living as a version of yourself that was built to survive, not a version that was built to be free? I’m talking about identity, self-worth, spiritual healing, and the painful moment when the “real you” shows up and you don’t even ...

A deadline doesn’t change your life until it has teeth. We’re celebrating a two-year milestone for the podcast, and I’m using it as a mirror for something I’ve struggled with for a long time: consistency. I talk honestly about what finally got me moving after months of slow progress, including the truth about how I treat deadlines and why “last minute panic” is not a plan.

Something nobody tells you about healing: the breakthrough isn’t the finish line, it’s the start of recovery. I’m Alisa, and I walk you through the first six months of my 2023 healing journey using a metaphor I can’t shake, surgery. There’s the prep, the detox, the deep cut, and then the “swelling” phase where you’re tempted to wonder if any of it worked. If you’...

Healing can feel like a moving target until the day you realize something is different and it stayed different. That’s where we start: the moment I look at my life and see real freedom, not a temporary high, not a good week, but the kind of emotional healing that makes you say, “I’m dangerous now because I healed.”

I walk through my healing journey that truly began in late 2022 after y...

Although I lost my initial recording, took a longer break than I wanted, I still felt the pull to come back with something real. On Mother’s Day, I’m back on the mic to reintroduce Be Clay and say out loud what a lot of us live quietly: we ask God for change, then we fight the very process that change requires.

Be Clay started with a prayer in 2020 and a hymn lyric that hit me like a mirror: &ldqu...

In this deeply personal season finale—recorded at the close of 2025 and shared now with the perspective of the new year—I’m opening up about the moment everything came to a screeching halt: a serious car accident that totaled my vehicle and shattered my sense of self-reliance.

Healing isn’t a straight line, and in this episode, I don't skip over the "messy middle." We dive into the raw anger...

Ever feel like your life is spinning, but not in a way that’s shaping you? I open up about the moment a simple hymn line—“Thou art the Potter and I am the clay”—turned into a vivid picture of me fighting the wheel instead of trusting the hands that hold me. That image birthed the heartbeat of this show: be clay. Not the planner, not the potter—just willing, soft, and ready to be f...

The mic is back on, the candles are out, and something real has shifted. Turning thirty-nine didn’t just add a number; it lifted a weight. I’m sharing how a quiet weekend in Virginia, a birthday test, and a year of honest work pulled me from disorganized attachment toward secure ground—and what that means for faith, family, and everyday peace.

I open up about living in fight-or-flight for ye...
