conversation should have been fifteen minutes took forty because out
of breadth the whole time that. Oh man, I'll tell
you why I took forty. Luca like I got a
thought on it.

Speaker 1 (03:19):
Rob G is actually a basketball nerd, and we totally
geeked out.

Speaker 3 (03:24):
I mean like depth, like and then like okay, so.

Speaker 1 (03:27):
If Andre Gudella was the best version of the role,
but I mean we went.

Speaker 3 (03:32):
Full on Gig, you would have just passed out. Yeah.

Speaker 4 (03:34):
I know, rob G, that's his favorite sport. I know
he talks about the Raiders. I didn't know, like I
even I kind of sunned him. I tried to sun him.
He's into basketball. I know you're Raiders fan, rob G,
but your your love for the Lakers because the Raiders
don't win.

Speaker 3 (03:49):
So I think I think, no, you know what I mean.

Speaker 4 (03:51):
He's with the Ray He loves the Raiders, don't get
me wrong, but the Lakers won a championship recently twenty twenty,
like he has that.

Speaker 3 (04:00):
They thinking my whole life, so yeah, your whole life.

Speaker 4 (04:03):
They've but the Raiders are always disappointing, and you know,
two games into the season, it's all over.

Speaker 1 (04:09):
Right, you know, they ain't the Ravens. They ain't going
on to you still feel like you got home exactly.

Speaker 4 (04:14):
They're going to be in that eighty eighty nine percent playoffs,
not the nine percent.

Speaker 1 (04:20):
But yeah, that was the point going like game feeling good,
all right, so let's welcome in, right.

Speaker 3 (04:23):
Yeah, everything's good.

Speaker 4 (04:24):
I was at school every you know, typical week Monday, Tuesday,
Wednesday at USC.

Speaker 3 (04:28):
I still enjoy it seven years in. It's nice. They
don't wear it.

Speaker 1 (04:31):
Don't wear the shirt you wore yesterday, the one that
I'm wearing today on the same day, or maybe we
do one day, maybe we do a twins tuesdays.

Speaker 4 (04:38):
I know, because he looks like he has on the
same exact shirt for his black and green navy.

Speaker 1 (04:45):
Yeah, shouts of folks who check us out on YouTube,
they'll notice.

Speaker 4 (04:48):
All right, let's welcome into the odd Couple crew, because

Why is that Crickys?

Speaker 4 (05:00):
I know Steve the Segers at the anchor desk will
keep us updated throughout the program, Hey, Steve. Yes, And
Elijah is our social media guru.

Speaker 3 (05:12):
That's right, Elijah.

Speaker 4 (05:14):
And on the ones in twos, Mary, Mary, why you
ain't got your own drive?

Speaker 3 (05:26):
All right?

Speaker 4 (05:27):
Mary Mack on the ones and two shows our engineer,
all right, Kelvin. Yeah, everybody's anticipating it. The Lakers are
hosting the hated Dallas Mavericks. They shouldn't be hated. They
should be rejoiced as they gave you an all time
great plarticipation.

Speaker 3 (05:46):
You know what I'm saying.

Speaker 4 (05:46):
But uh, that game is happening down at I don't
know what they call a crypto what's whatever the name
of it is.

Speaker 3 (05:53):
You're heading down there, and I guess you have I mean,
I know we're going to talk about the.

Speaker 4 (05:59):
Expectations that you have, YEA this one, But in this case,
Rob G, do we have the sound of lebron or
can you read the quote we got that, So let's
talk about here.

Speaker 3 (06:10):
Lebron James saying all the right things. That's right.

Speaker 5 (06:15):
Lebron James, ahead of tonight's big showdown with Dallas, caught
up with ESPN's Damic Minimated a long form feature on
Luca in the first few weeks.

Speaker 3 (06:23):
Of his time in Los Angeles.

Speaker 5 (06:25):
In the article, Lebron James is quoted, this is after
the Nuggets game, of course, discussing what his plans were
to help integrate Luca into the system here in Los Angeles.
Here's what Lebron said quote. Obviously it's not gonna happen overnight,
but I believe in order for us to ultimately be
the team that we want to be with him here,

(06:48):
he has to have the ball, he has to be
able to put his own position. He has to be
him the seven years we've seen in the NBA with Luca.
We want that Luca. And that sounds great. Lebron's saying
all the right things. He has an all time great
with him. He's a young guy, only twenty five, right, perfect.
I'm just not convinced.

Speaker 4 (07:08):
Words to me aren't as nearly as important as actions,
And in this I just think it's fair uh, to
question or doubt whether or not Lebron will be able
to acquiesce.

Speaker 3 (07:23):
And that's just natural.

Speaker 6 (07:24):
You know.

Speaker 3 (07:25):
You don't get that sad old saying. You can't teach
old dog new tricks.

Speaker 4 (07:29):
You can't expect Lebron to automatically change what he's been
doing his entire career and the success that he has.
I mean, it sounds easy, Oh yeah, just play without
the ball and go do this, and go do that,
and just let Luca do you know, dictate and run everything,
and that sounds great. I think that's a difficult change,

(07:51):
even at this point, you know, so, I'm not convinced
of it. I think I'd have to see it for
me to really believe that he's able to do. I
think that he has had great intentions in years going
by and always seems to revert back to, you know,
what he's used to.

Speaker 3 (08:08):
And I don't blame him at all. I think it's
just natural.

Speaker 1 (08:13):
I don't think this was some noble idea, a noble idea,
or some new idea. I think this was a captain
obvious from Lebron. At this point in your life, you're forty,
you're good, and some nights you're really good. Luca's better
and for the first time probably in Lebron's life since
he was eight years old, somebody's actually better than him
on his team, and it is Luca Doges. Luca is better.

(08:36):
And it's okay that I believe Rob is actually welcomed.
I think there's a part of him and saying, who
I don't have to carry this night in night out.

Speaker 3 (08:44):
I can have it off night and we still possibly win.

Speaker 1 (08:48):
I can go to the bench up ten, we might
come back up twenty instead of we're tired or down
to now. I think it's a welcome site. I think
it might be something that extends his career another year.
Not multiple he's gonna play in forty eight or anything,
but maybe if he was thinking next year's the end,
maybe he goes another year or two with Luca being
the focal point. And Luca ain't he ain't the one

(09:10):
Rob de b Atquieski. Oh well, I hope. Can I
just please shoot a shot, Lebron? Here here's the ball?

Speaker 3 (09:16):
What you want?

Speaker 6 (09:16):
Mean? Man?

Speaker 3 (09:17):
Luca is one of them ones, and Luca will go
get it himself.

Speaker 1 (09:21):
Luca will absolutely create, he will absolutely pass, and he
will absolutely defer if Lebron is to his night or
if he's got the advantage. But Luca has also been
the best player his whole life, and this is what
he is right now at twenty five all World, five
time all NBA. So to me, this wasn't even like, Wow,
look at Lebron gonna pass the baton? Wow, man, he

(09:42):
ain't have a choice. Now, there's a ceremonial aspect of it,
meaning I want to do it the right way, as
Rob g just stated, I want to make sure I'm
welcoming lok sure I make sure that he knows I'm
buying into this team concept. That's the ceremonial. But as
far as the practicality and on the court, we knew
this was gonna happen. Yeah, here's the God scores thirty five.
We're like, man, he was doing well tonight. If Luca

(10:04):
go for fifty, ain't none of us surprise. It's a
little different right now.

Speaker 4 (10:07):
Yeah, But James his career usage rate thirty one point five,
eighth highest in NBA history, and hasn't posted a usage
rate right below twenty nine point two in over twenty years,
which is even right.

Speaker 3 (10:23):
Think about this, which is even above.

Speaker 4 (10:28):
Is about even I should say with James Harden and
we know how much he drove the ball and hold
onto the ball. So that's something for context, just to
see how much Lebron and his usage ran by comparison
to Luka. Doncic has a career usage rate of thirty
five point six, which is the highest in NBA history.

Speaker 3 (10:45):
So there's two guys with very high usage rates.

Speaker 4 (10:49):
And I'm saying I'll believe it when I see it
in an extended period of time. Sure, when somebody first
comes whatever, we got to see Lebron has played pretty well.
What happens if he not playing well or I just
remember that stretch he had where he's really bad. If
you had to stretch and you know that, maybe, well,

(11:09):
I don't have the ball in my hands.

Speaker 1 (11:11):
You know, do you you don't think it's welcome, Rob,
You just mentioned the usage, right, wouldn't it be welcome?

Speaker 3 (11:15):
It's like when you.

Speaker 4 (11:16):
I thought that was the case when they got Anthony Davis,
he was the younger star.

Speaker 3 (11:20):
I thought that was going to happen.

Speaker 4 (11:22):
And I'm not saying that Athy Davis handles the ball,
but I really thought, like Lebron, this is going to
be Anthony Davis.

Speaker 3 (11:27):
He's going to ride his temperament, the numbers, no people crazy.

Speaker 4 (11:33):
I thought he could have given Lebron because he was
so much younger, you know, it's crazy, just put up
the numbers and and all that, so that the Lebron
didn't have to do nearly as much. But that never
really came to fruition even after and he won the championship,
and I thought, really after that, like he's a made
man now, he could just go go all out, try

(11:55):
to win some m vps, put up real numbers, you know,
and all that.

Speaker 3 (11:59):
And it never happened.

Speaker 1 (12:00):
Ad his temperament and also his skills set didn't allow
him to because it's one thing to just be able
to get your own shot, and he can do that.
It's creating other shots, and not a lot of big
men are great at that creating for other people. They're
great for themselves. Put me on the block. I can
get a bucket, I can draw a file. Shaq was
great at getting for others because he would get double triplet.
He knew how to find guys out for three Yoki,

(12:21):
you and I were sitting here last night, what do
you have nineteen assists? He's maybe arguably the greatest passer.
Bill Walton was good at that. Anthony Davis was, hey,
I can get some rhythms, some shots here or there,
but he wasn't creating. I think Lebron is excited about
the opportunity to have somebody else who can create, which
is why Lebron over the last couple of seasons, the
only person he's really seemed to have fully trusted is
Austin Reeves prior to Luca, because Luca can or because

(12:43):
Austin Reeves can create for himself and others, and Lebron
values that because I don't have to set up the offense,
I don't have to get the shot. I can give
you the wall and gonna go. And so I think
him having Luca now, I think he is about to
be reminded what it felt like running around with Kyrie,
running around with d Wade. Guys who can go get
a bucket or care or draw files and can create
pacing and tempo.

Speaker 3 (13:03):
So I think he's gonna be like, WHOA, what a relief?
All right?

Speaker 4 (13:07):
Eight seven seven ninety nine on Fox eight seven seven
nine nine six sixty three sixty nine. Do you expect
Lebron will actually be able to hand over the keys
of the offense to Luca. Doncons I mean, we'll continue
that conversation next with you. We want to hear from you.
It is the Odd Couple on a Trash Talking Tuesday.

(13:27):
Don't forget in the second hour your chance to trash anyway.
Last week anything in the world of sports, no doubt,
it was heated and been hot. Uh so you got
the Odd Couple right here on Fox Sports Radio. Stick
and stay unless you have a hard time handing people
keys in the US of A.

Speaker 2 (13:45):
Be sure to catch live editions of The Odd Couple
with Rob Parker and Kelvin Washington, weekdays at seven pm
Eastern four pm Pacific on Fox Sports Radio and the
iHeartRadio app.

Speaker 1 (13:57):
Fox Sports Radio Couple Robert Kelvin on the Trash Talking
Tuesday coming up in about an hour and twenty minutes
or so. I see Iowa Sam getting it in there, dancing.
We're coming to you love from the tire rag dot
com and a stomach dick? Is that what it was?
He's running to the bathroom. I thought, here, I am
thinking it was a dance move. All right, Mary, I
might need this. Uh, who is this? It's a rema.
It's a new song. By all right, this might have

(14:18):
to get him. I got a playlet's called Vibe. We're
talking about Lebron. Will they give the keys over to
Luca easily? Is he gonna hold on to it? Rob
brought up a can't teach you old dog new tricks?
I say he is. He ain't got no choice anyway.
And what say you? Eight seven seven ninety nine on Fox?

Speaker 6 (14:34):
All right?

Speaker 3 (14:34):
Nick in New York, you're on the odd couple Fox
Sports Radio. What's up, buddy?

Speaker 7 (14:39):
Hey, guys doing my favorite show?

Speaker 3 (14:41):
All right, thank you, appreciate you.

Speaker 7 (14:44):
I don't at this point that just did Lebron know
that they were trading? Did they confirm that he didn't know?

Speaker 6 (14:51):
Uh?

Speaker 3 (14:51):
He said he didn't know. Everybody's Luca didn't know. The
reports already know what nobody know.

Speaker 7 (14:56):
It sounds like it doesn't matter to him. But look,
he's gonna control the rain. But my big thing is
right now is that like the big guys right now
are sick. These guys are crumbling, falling. They don't play.

Speaker 6 (15:08):
You. Look at Joki.

Speaker 7 (15:09):
He's built like a brick, like a brick house. He
does not get hurt. He plays constantly, Davis, they had
to get out of there. I think you're better off
with Luca. But I don't think that Lebron. He has
to give it over.

Speaker 3 (15:22):
Lucas had injuries and been out. I mean, Nick.

Speaker 1 (15:25):
Thanks, Luca's been injured. It's not catastrophic injury, but he's
been injured. But he was injured while he was He
just said, but is that what he said? I think
his point was like Joel and b Anthony Davis. Uh,
I mean, what's up a winby? But just bigs are
being injured. I think that was okay, But Luca's been injured.
He was injured.

Speaker 3 (15:44):
You going to European Round? Is that why I brought
up the YO kids. I don't know, Nick, we couldn't
quite get the point.

Speaker 4 (15:48):
Okay, Andre in Massachusetts, you're trying to hit us with
that on Black History Month, Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 3 (15:54):
What's up?

Speaker 8 (15:54):
Dright, Hey, how you doing?

Speaker 9 (15:57):
Thanks for taking the call listen. Of course Lebron can
play with Luca. Doncis just like a great musician knows
that collaborating and coming together with another great musician, it's
just going to create better artwork. These are two high
iq basketball players that know how to play mix. So
what Lebron said, I think it's spot on. He says, listen,
I can be that great wide receiver if you give

(16:19):
me a great quarterback with Luca doncris is. So I
see this working steamlessly. From the standpoint of when Anthony
Davis came to Los.

Speaker 8 (16:27):
Angeles, what was Lebron saying? He said, it's AD's team.

Speaker 9 (16:30):
Everything's going to go through Ad. We're gonna run offense,
so on and forth. But Anthony Davis did not want
that centerpiece role. Luca don chiz is tried and true,
he is fit.

Speaker 6 (16:40):
For the rust.

Speaker 4 (16:40):
So Lebron couldn't work in Anthony Davis for it to
work with him?

Speaker 3 (16:45):
Is that what happened?

Speaker 10 (16:46):
Yeah?

Speaker 9 (16:46):
So s My point with that is what is Anthony
Davis hit a big shot in the bubble for them
to go ahead? But what do we see if him
being clutched after that?

Speaker 4 (16:54):
I understand that, but I'm just saying that was everybody
thought that Anthony Davis would be the focal point because
Lebron was old age.

Speaker 3 (17:04):
Yeah, that was it.

Speaker 4 (17:05):
I'm just saying it didn't happen for whatever reason. I'm
just giving you that that was the thought.

Speaker 3 (17:10):
We were Yeah, everybody was saying, all right, now it's
gonna be a these team.

Speaker 1 (17:13):
He's gonna be the full and then that means Lebron's
falling off a cliff exactly.

Speaker 4 (17:16):
Gonna be involved average nine points. All right, Kevin in
Culver City, You're on they couple of Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 3 (17:22):
What's up keV? All the time?

Speaker 8 (17:27):
I got a boneum pick with you?

Speaker 6 (17:29):
Kevin?

Speaker 8 (17:29):
You didn't go see my boy time the creator at Crypto.
He's doing six shows.

Speaker 1 (17:33):
It was incredible, Man, I lived I lived through everybody
else on social media.

Speaker 8 (17:38):
I saw it was owned rob. He's like a modern
day Prince Andre three thousand and Oh yeah, Mary, you
got to play some time. He's the truth people.

Speaker 1 (17:49):
You know what's funny? He's on my list Kevin. By
the way, I'm gonna let us side because you call
me Kevin, but.

Speaker 3 (17:55):
Slide. That's okay, It's all right, I get it. Your
name is Kevin.

Speaker 1 (17:58):
So I he's on the list of people I want
to like more, but I respect their talent. So you
know what I'm saying, Like, I have zero to say.
He's creative. His last album was very introspective. I listened
to it very personally touched on a lot of topics.

Speaker 3 (18:12):
Now he's super dope. No, I have no notice. That's
because the Goblin. That's why you need to start all
the way back from when you know music radio, me back,
you know Roger Kevin. So where are you want a
Lebron thing?

Speaker 6 (18:25):
Here? Create Lebron.

Speaker 8 (18:28):
Look, Lebron has never played with a player like Luca
be outside of Kyrie. There's so much spacing on the court.
This is the best thing for him. And it's kind
of ironic because Lebron has always been the focal point.
But when you look at that Denver Nuggets game, they
couldn't stop the Lakers because they have to worry about Luca.
Jamal Murray was winning on the other because you have
to actually play defense. The spacing was so good on

(18:51):
the floor. It's like when Lebron told Dwayne Way, look,
dawayn wait to Lebron, Look, you're the guy, this is
your team now. Now that's happening with Lebron. He's got
tell Luca this is your team now. The Lakers could
absolutely win a championship because we've seen.

Speaker 3 (19:04):
Champions want a championship this year.

Speaker 4 (19:10):
Let's bet wings on that, all right, let's do that.

Speaker 10 (19:13):
On that.

Speaker 3 (19:14):
Let's do it.

Speaker 8 (19:15):
Take the Lakers to a champion.

Speaker 4 (19:17):
All right, all right, eventually take off your Laker pajamas.
Calv thank you appreciation.

Speaker 3 (19:23):
He was the Lakers pajamas listening to the too.

Speaker 4 (19:26):
But he didn't he didn't call in last week when
they lost to Charlotte at home.

Speaker 3 (19:30):
Did he say he were gonna win here? But I
mean eventually he said this year.

Speaker 4 (19:35):
All right, Drew in New Jersey, you're in the couple
of Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 3 (19:39):
What's up, Drew, Hey.

Speaker 10 (19:41):
I definitely think they can definitely coexist. I actually think
that Lebron, if you looked in spots, she was able
to descend more and more. And regardless of what you
want to say, Nicole Jokic is still introcious defender. But
what you can do is you can hide them with
Aaron Gordon stuff like that. I don't think defense of
the city the fifty split. I think that you put

(20:02):
Lebron off the ball more that allows him to guard
more slower fours, I would say slower, but he can
you can put about the four and guard the four,
And I think that way, he's still to me, still
a physical specimen. But if he having Luca give Luca
the ball, you can put Lebron more on defense, and

(20:25):
Lebron can be a cutter kind of like they call
him alone Roll. He's a better shooter than he was
in the past.

Speaker 1 (20:31):
Drew, thank you, thank you well, just as I say
thank you, Drew, now, I get what you're saying. And
this allows freeze Lebron up to do other things and
maybe play a little bit more defense. He's less tired
having to create and control the ball at the time.
So Drew had a great point right there. Ifra Salam
on the other side of What's Trending, we'll talk to him.
He's a big time hoops guy. Will get his thoughts
on this, as well as some NFL talk. Right now
is What's Trending with Steve the Sager.

Speaker 2 (20:52):
Be sure to catch live editions of The Odd Couple
with Rob Parker and kelvin Washington weekdays at seven pm
Eastern four pm PIE on Fox Sports Radio and the
iHeartRadio app.

Speaker 1 (21:03):
We're coming to you live now for the tirerack dot
Com studios, and we're joined by e From Salam, former
NFL offensive lineman Fox Sports Radio Weekends. E from Slam
on Twitter, What's up Up? Well doing good man.

Speaker 3 (21:17):
Right to you got your whole ten minutes.

Speaker 6 (21:19):
There, good give me my time.

Speaker 3 (21:22):
There you go.

Speaker 4 (21:23):
I know I'm reclaiming my time. Always wants his time.
That's why I wanted to point it out to you.

Speaker 6 (21:27):
All right, Well I appreciate it.

Speaker 3 (21:29):
Yeah, you got all the time.

Speaker 1 (21:30):
Speaking of just before we got to you, we were
talking about Lebron passing the baton to Luca. Do you
think that's actually something he's gonna do giving the keys
to Luca? He said, he is. He said, he's embracing this,
this role. Rob says, can't teach old dog.

Speaker 4 (21:44):
Yeah, trip, I mean he's always used to having the
ball the eighth highest uses rate.

Speaker 6 (21:49):
Let me let me explain something to you guys. This
had been the plan for the last two years. All right.
So Lebron James, if you remember how this year started off,
he desperately was handing over the keys to the team
to Anthony Davis. That's when Anthony Davis came out with
those thirty fifteen games right first month of the season.

(22:13):
It was like, oh my goodness, this is crazy. But
Anthony Davis is not a facilitator. He is not The
ball's not in his hands. You have to bring the
bass to Anthony Davis, and so it's kind of hard
to You got to remember when you're going through the
high post and to the post, the game slows down.
There's you know, it's a little bit different. It's not

(22:35):
as high energy. But Lebron James was willing to do
that because he didn't want to have to burton our shoulder,
the burton of being the everything. He can't play thirty
eight forty two minutes a game anymore, so he wanted
to hand the keys over to Anthony Davis. Obviously, it
didn't work out like that. Ad got a little nicked

(22:56):
up and so on and so forth. But I can
promise you he's one okay with handing the keys over
the Lucas someone who's already a ball dominant guard, who
is a walking triple double and can light up the scoreboard.
He is perfectly okay with that because he knows when
he sits down at the seven minute mark in the

(23:17):
first quarter, when he comes back in the lead, isn't
going to be depleted, It's going to be increased. Are
they going to hold pat on whatever progress they made?
That's a huge luxury. Lebron really hadn't had the last
few years. So knowing the fact that you now have
a ball dominant guard who can facilitate and get everybody

(23:39):
involved and now go get his own essentially, that takes
the pressure completely off Lebron and it allows him to
rest a little bit longer and not have to, you know,
pick up that heavy load when he comes back in
the game. So I do rob believe that he means
that are.

Speaker 4 (23:57):
They going to win the championship? But yes or no answer?
Yeah when it's this year?

Speaker 6 (24:01):
Yeah yeah, yeah man, Yeah, okay, yeah.

Speaker 4 (24:03):
Okay, yeah, okay. I just want to get you on
the record. We got that recorded. Let's go to football.
I just I love to get people on the record
on football. Travis Kelcey, I mean as general manager for
Kansas City, you know, said he expects him to come
back and expect him to play next year.

Speaker 3 (24:20):
He was awful in the Super Bowl.

Speaker 4 (24:22):
There were players where were standing around where action was
going on, like just out of it. I don't know,
do you think he should retire or he should come back.
I know people always say, oh, I don't want to
go out on that note. It could be worse next year.
He just didn't look good.

Speaker 6 (24:38):
No, he didn't look good. But the offense all year
didn't look good. I mean, obviously that wasn't the Kansas
City we have been used to seeing. As well as
you know, the regular season for them, they had a
bunch of miracle games. The fact that they got to
fifteen and one playing like they were playing. Shout out
to Spagnola in that defense because they saved them a

(25:00):
bunch of times. It just seemed off a lot last year. Yeah,
and when your left tackle goes down and you got
your movie all Pro guard to left tackle, you know,
they just would pee smell in their way through the season. Now,
what I do know about Kansas City is a well
run organization from Andy Reid the Hunt family. It's well run,

(25:22):
so I know they're going to address the needs they
need to address to to get better offensively this off season,
and that starts with bringing Travis Kelsey back. He knows
that this is not like a dumpster fire. We don't
know what's going to happen. No, no, no, It's a
well run organization that that's steeped in tradition and winning.

(25:42):
So I believe that he will come back for one
final year. You got to remember similar to Jason his brother.
Remember it was like he was talking about and he
came back played that final year and then that was
his his swan song. It did kind of mirroring the
same way Jason went out as the same way. I

(26:04):
believe Tavis, we'll walk away.

Speaker 3 (26:08):
Speaking of tight ends real quick. I want to just
jump on this.

Speaker 4 (26:11):
Mark Andrews, the general manager for the Ravens, spoke today
and sound like he was saying goodbye. He was said, well,
Mark Andrews is going to be in the Hall of
Ring of Honor soon, you know, or at some point whatever.
But he didn't answer the question straight up about a
new contract. I guess, which is what Mark Andrews is

(26:31):
looking for. If you're the Ravens, do you do you
move on from him?

Speaker 6 (26:37):
I don't move on from him because I know how
much he means to till Lamar Jackson. Right, So when
you start making decisions like that, you got to look
at the totality.

Speaker 4 (26:46):
Why wouldn't the GM if that's so obvious, right, I'm
just saying, and you ask about him, I don't want
to understand why GM wouldn't say, dude, that that's all
tied end. We're gonna get this done. We want him
on the team. I mean, I guess like that doesn't.

Speaker 6 (27:00):
You're right, because what he doesn't want to do is
walk himself into a.

Speaker 3 (27:02):
Lie, right right, That's what I'm saying about what.

Speaker 6 (27:05):
That number is for Mark? Right, that number may be
way too high.

Speaker 3 (27:10):
Then they want to put.

Speaker 6 (27:12):
Out right right right, And I know they did him
Likely and Lamar did find some synergy there when Mark
was hurt the beginning of the year. He's a big, big,
big tight end who can run routes, who can bull
those people in the running game. So you may be
looking at a situation where like Likely is going to
take that next step, and at the price that Mark

(27:35):
may be why, you know, it may not be there,
And he doesn't want to come out and say that
because they don't know all that information yet.

Speaker 1 (27:41):
He is from salam Our guest former NFL offensive Live
in Fox Sports Radio Weekend e I go to Matthew Stafford,
thirty seven years old, but still play well this year,
got them in the postseason. But right now it's kind
of up in the arms. What's going to happen with
he and the Rams. They want them, but they don't
want to make pay fifty he deserves to talk to
go get They said, go out there and see what

(28:02):
you can find. Other team, four or five teams interested
could get up to fifty million dollars. What do you
make of this? If you're the Rams, are they are
they overthinking it? He's been their guy. If you're Matthew Stafford,
do you want to stay for a haircut or are
you trying to go get paid?

Speaker 6 (28:16):
Pay that man his money? Right right from the.

Speaker 3 (28:21):
Movie Rounders, of course, pay pay that.

Speaker 6 (28:24):
Man his money. You you don't do that, don't fall
victim to that, because when you look at the landscape
of quarterbacks and what they're getting paid, you mean to
tell me, Matthew Stafford, who was thirteen yards away from
possible another possible Super Bowl in an NFC championship game,
and oh, by the way, he won you a super Bowl.

(28:45):
He's a dynamic thrower of the football, you mean to
tell me you're ready to move on because he wants
to be paid what he should be paid.

Speaker 3 (28:56):
Thirty seven.

Speaker 4 (28:56):
He's banged up, and the numbers, when you look at
the number, Ephraim, they're not great. They really. I'm just
saying there's a reason. And if you remember last year
in camp. Remember they had to redo something just to
get them to come into camp if you remember. So
this is not new, this was before last. This I'm

(29:17):
just saying this was before last.

Speaker 6 (29:19):
There were stretches when Cooper, Cup and Pook and the
couple were out right.

Speaker 4 (29:24):
I got that, Yeah, there there he was seven and
eleven without them right right, like.

Speaker 6 (29:30):
So that that you don't on the landscape. When you
you you want to go Aaron, would you take Aaron
Rodgers or Matthew Stafford.

Speaker 3 (29:39):
I'm just telling you.

Speaker 6 (29:40):
I'm just telling what you rock thirty or Matthew staff.

Speaker 3 (29:43):
I'm telling you. When a team tells you to go
out and find a deal, Matthew, they're ready to move
on from you from yes or no. You know, but
there's a reason that. What do you think the reason is?

Speaker 6 (29:54):
Yeah? Should they I think.

Speaker 3 (29:56):
They feel like they got their championship.

Speaker 6 (29:59):
Yeah, I think absolutely.

Speaker 3 (30:01):
I think he's going to wind up.

Speaker 4 (30:03):
He's going to wind up on like a bad team
like the Johants or something like that.

Speaker 6 (30:07):
Matthew Stafford and Sam Donald. Matt Where what are the options?

Speaker 3 (30:12):
It depends on what them.

Speaker 6 (30:14):
I'm going to weigh my options. I would rather pay
Matthew Stafford fifty five million dollars a year than than
Sam Donald thirty. What that's easy?

Speaker 1 (30:25):
Is it?

Speaker 3 (30:25):
Really? I don't think it's that easy. I think that's
why the rams are doing what they're doing.

Speaker 4 (30:29):
What they're doing when you're a GM, I'm just telling
you this is this has been two years in the
working Yeah, but I'm saying why though, even in last year,
because they're tired of his wife, they're tired of a
lot of the other stuff that's going on.

Speaker 1 (30:41):
They had no they what it means. They didn't win
the year before. He literally dragged them to the playoffs
two years ago. Then this past year, people didn't have
the greatest expectation to go to the postseason.

Speaker 3 (30:50):
If it wasn't snowing outside, they might go to snow
didn't stop the Eagles from with the snow. They made it.
They won the game. The great he did have a chance,
he had if we went four and out. He had
four downs. What but I guess there's not that many
better than him, not at that not at that price,
and at that.

Speaker 1 (31:08):
Age, that ain't that money, ain't that much. Just it
is we just went through the people.

Speaker 6 (31:13):
Man.

Speaker 3 (31:14):
That's why they're not giving it to him.

Speaker 6 (31:16):
Hey, hey, guys, this is.

Speaker 3 (31:18):
My this is your time. Go ahead, you're lay I'm sorry.

with my boys.

Okay, but I say I'll see you there, all right,
salam me from Salim on Twitter, give him a follow.

Speaker 3 (31:55):

Speaker 4 (33:09):
Sun and brown so much were standing out in front
of the steak house waiting to get his rental car,
and they gave him his keys and said, you know,
could you get my car. No, rob G, rob Gi,
did it called you to ballet? That's a brownnie guy? Hey,
rob G. No, Lie, we're gonna get to the Shecko City.

(33:32):
The only times that's happened to me, I'm not lying.
Where they where they give you the key, they have
their ticket and they'll be like ready to hand the ticket,
you know what I mean.

Speaker 3 (33:41):
And I'm like, now you're supposed to dude, I'm waiting

standing here.

Speaker 4 (33:46):
I said, well you're standing here too, like that's where
you stand when you get your car.

Speaker 3 (33:50):
So I mean, since you brought up, are you saying
these were white people?

Speaker 6 (33:53):
What?

Speaker 3 (33:55):
Okay? Well, I mean, you know, understanding, dang brother.

Speaker 5 (33:58):
Can't just happen to me and reverse once and we
we complained to the they have a three dollars gift card.

Speaker 3 (34:04):
So what happened?

Speaker 5 (34:05):
Yeah, because it was a nice steakhouse and it was
one of those valet only places, so they believe that
we had a BMW that we came in and what
do you.

Speaker 3 (34:14):
Mean they didn't believe believe? Yeah?

Speaker 5 (34:16):
Yeah, well they took the key and then we're like, hey,
we never gave us the key to the car.

Speaker 3 (34:22):
Well, that's not your car. It's yes, it is.

Speaker 5 (34:24):
We had a white BMW, you know, and they didn't
believe it, apparently because the color of our skin.

Speaker 3 (34:29):
They wanted you were in and then uh, that's crazy.
Eventually they found we got it.

Speaker 5 (34:35):
And then you know, because I got a massive following
on social media now like hey, you don't want me
to put you on front town three hundred dollars later
gift card?

Speaker 6 (34:44):
Nice?

Speaker 3 (34:44):
Did you use that three hundred No? I gave it
to the man. It was there. It was their car.

Speaker 1 (34:47):
I mean, all right, long as somebody, yes, somebody has
it and Martin Luther King and sees right now.

Speaker 3 (34:53):
That's right, all right. I was just trying to get
the point of how brown you got out of thank you.
I want to be dark like you Ron think so yeah,
sure you got.

Speaker 1 (35:01):
Sure up for you don't want to know my struggle exactly.

Speaker 3 (35:10):
That's what you want to be high for, mmb bronybody
want to be.

Speaker 1 (35:18):
Yeah, I don't know about rob you right there and
toil you just just stick to the movies, Robberie, you're
more chestnut movies.

Speaker 4 (35:23):
Don't you remember that woman as a woman who does
his speech she's in the auditory with all white people
and she says like she's white.

Speaker 3 (35:31):
Oh yeah, she's a legend. Yeah, she's a legend. Stand
up if you want to be her name.

Speaker 1 (35:36):
Yeah, she is a legend. I think she's still with
us to you know what I'm talking about. Oh yeah,
she don't play around. All right, let's get to shackle
City because I got news. Okay, what's the news today?

Speaker 3 (35:53):
What you do? I was two and one last night
and guess what what's that? I'm back to five hund
explaining and fifty. I have made it back.

Speaker 4 (36:06):
I've climbed out of that hole you have, and I've
made it back to fifteen reason.

Speaker 3 (36:11):
So here we go.

Speaker 4 (36:12):
Best bet, Memphis Grizzlies minus seven and a half.

Speaker 3 (36:15):
Men, The Sons are bad. Sons are really bad. You
mean the Sons with Booker, Kevin Duran and Bradley bel Yes.

Speaker 4 (36:20):
They are really bad. There's one where talent doesn't mean
a lot. It's the same, dude, No Boston minus ten
and a half taken on the Toronto Raptors in Toronto
and the Cavaliers minus seven and a half at the
Orlando Magic.

Speaker 3 (36:35):
And of course.

Speaker 4 (36:37):
These all were dropped on social media earlier prior to
the games, so people will follow shekel City know that.
And again Cavaliers minus seven and a half, Boston minus
ten and a half, and the Grizzlies minus seven and
a half. And remember Kelvin, what's that. I'm not telling
you who to bet on. I'm telling you who I

(36:58):
bet on.

Speaker 3 (36:59):
Look at you. You've been doing all right with these
best too. I'm good. I'm feeling good right now.

Speaker 1 (37:02):
Yeah, what's going back to the Phoenix Suns? What was
the point of Bradley bial not wanting to be traded.
It's not like I don't want to get traded because
we're competing for the top three spot in the West
with ball and we got something going, we got some cooking.

Speaker 3 (37:15):
Like he don't want you, he don't want to, He
don't want to. Is it personal? Like just because I
want to stand on business?

Speaker 4 (37:21):
Yeah, you don't want to keep getting shipped like you
just like this, This is where his career is already,
Like can we get rid of him? He's only a
part of the deal because we need your money. It's
not about you as a player anymore. I could understand
where he could say, Man, I'm not so you're gonna suffer.
How's he suffering? He's still getting the same chant. What
I'm saying, your team is bad now, you're underachieving. Well,

(37:42):
the rants on that team and Devin Booker. I mean,
if you're Bradley Beial, You're like, no, I don't want
to be a pawn. I don't want to be shipped
every every every basketball season played for twenty teams.

Speaker 3 (37:54):
He doesn't want to do it to Miami. I could
go to Miami.

Speaker 1 (37:56):
Live it up now, heat, it's on all night whatever,
Welcome to Miami. Hey, miam Miamiami. Whatever they said, could
have been living it up in Miami, little little beach,
action South Beach.

Speaker 6 (38:09):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (38:09):
I don't know. I don't want it to be suffering
Phoenix and then not be wanting to be the.

Speaker 5 (38:12):
Miami's actually worse than Phoenix though it is the problem.
What is their Their record is worse than Phenix. Yeah,
but I mean, I'm gonna Suthern Beach. I got a
chance to be the man out there, you know, Fox
