Josh Allen finally talked about his mega deal, the most
guaranteed Moulah money in the history of the National Football League,
at least for now, two hundred and fifty of the
three hundred and thirty million dollars guarant chee Ching Balling
and Rob G. He had some Boston comments, didn't he, Josh.
Speaker 4 (01:49):
Allen, Yeah, because you mentioned the two fifty guaranteed, and
that is the headline. That's what all the agents are saying.
That's what ESPN, Fox Sports putting all on the mask at.
The only problem though, is when you look at the
average annual value, he's only at only right, it was
fifty five million dollars, which sounds like a lot, except
that deck is at sixty. So Josh Allen was on

a podcast that dropped earlier on Wednesday, and he was
asked about the idea of leaving money on the table
in Buffalo.

It didn't seem like it's in my perspective, I was
taking a whole lot less the way that I make
sense of it. When when you start getting these fairly
big numbers throughout the entire league, it's weird to say this.
But what's what's five more going to do for my
life that I can't already do right now? It's not
that crazy to me, right Like, I live a pretty
good life. Got a house, got a car.

We're good. It's good to know you got a house
in a car, very nice. Yeah, I would imagine he
does with fifty.

Yeah, this is what's wrong with the NFL. And I
just can't get it. I don't understand it. I just don't.

Not all only good for you, but for the other
people in the league, for the other players. Tom Brady
was the worst for NFL players, the absolute worst, accepting
less than his value.

Well, you know, Patrick Mahomes, tom Brady didn't take all
the money he could have gotten, and they wanted to. No,
that doesn't automatically mean you're gonna win a Super Bowl
because you take less, don't. They hire capologists and general
managers and people, that's their job. You don't want anybody
in discount. And when you do that, you heard it.

I remember when Alex Rodriguez was leaving the Rangers. He
had a deal ready to go to the Boston Red Sox,
and the Red Sox wanted him to take a bit
of a pay cut. The union said, no way, know,
how are you taking a pay cut? It ain't about
a Rod and the Boston Red Sox about the players.

It's about all of them.

And if a Rod takes a pay cut, guess what
they're gonna be asking everybody else to take pay cuts.
You gotta always think about the greater good, not just
your own situation. And the uh the Rams won a
Super Bowl and guess what they cashed out Matthew Stafford.
They didn't have a rookie quarterback. They didn't care about

no cap concerns. Look at what the Eagles have done
in the off season. Everybody they signed is the highest
paid whatever position, and they just won a Super Bowl.
What are they doing going out paying people? They're not
sitting here going, well, you don't you don't take as
much money. You know we could do other Stop it.

Stop enabling these guys to use you, because it's wrong.
And even with Joss's case, your money ain't no totally guaranteed.

Hurting your brother and who are looking for deals. We
talked about it. Seventy percent of the players are three

a sweet role and they got to get a job

Then here's the thing with that rap. Everything you said
I actually get and I understand. However, we are part
of the reason why guys are doing this, and the
reason why they're doing this is because at a certain caliber,
the only thing we judge you by now is super
Bowl wins. Josh Allen, welcome to that category. Brother, all
we judge Josh Allen Lamar Jackson. Now, what's the thing

we say? Super Bowl wins?

Let mean I just want to Yeah, so if we do,
he doesn't have a super Bowl and he's been a
failure when it comes to getting to the super Bowl.

I'm answering the conversation is giving yourself a haircut, giving

And you brought up Tom Brady. Tom Brady is who
these guys are trying to be like and or Chase.

Yes, but Tom Brady and we have the facts, Rob
g was it the Boston Globe that wrote the story?
They didn't spend the money that they saved from Tom Brady.
You are and everybody says, hear what you're saying, But
where's Tom Brady? They always saying he did more with
less because he didn't get the big time receivers until
they got Randy Moss one time.

Right, they had a run. I mean the second half.
They have some obscure weapons. But I totally get your point.
But here's the thing, though, guys are in as a
copycat league and Josh Allens, the Patrick Mahomes and Lamar
Jackson and so on and so forth. They're saying, I'm
to the point now we're just having a Wow, you
had a winning season, don matter. Wow you made the postseason,
don matter? They want to get to the super Bowl.

And then they want to win a super Bowl, and
they know they're so good, too great, that we're only
gonna judge them on super Bowl titles. So what happens
is they're saying, well, shoot, if y'all only gonna judge
me on super Bowl titles and wins, well, then I
gotta have Obviously the best team around me is as
much as possible. So part of that is me not
taking sixty million. I'll take fifty forty eight whatever and
leave a couple bucks or some other players. Or I'm

Joe Burrow and I'm going out of my way to advocate.
Please sign t Higgins, please sign. I'll restructure my deal,
Please sign Jamar Chase, whatever it takes. Because Joe Burrow's
in that category, he gotta taste of it. Went to
a super Bowl but didn't win. That's what we're gonna
judge Joe Burrow by now, by g golly, he threw
a bunch of touchdowns. So there's a handful of guys,
just a handful who realized for them, my legacy's gonna

be based off on how often I win, how many times, but.

You can equate taking less money to winning, and that
is the brainwash that they've done to these players. You
can't show me where guys have taken less money and
it made it means that they won.

two greatest quarterbacks of the last x amount.

Of years, they didn't use that. Patrick Mahomes is making

he got the four hundred some million, did well, that
ended up being a bargain right restructuring deals.

It's not the only way to win. And equating that
to Tom Brady where they've screwed players up and down,

all those guys who didn't get paid and what they

did is they used those guys up and they didn't
pay them. Why would you agree to a system like that?
And why would you why would you allow yourself to
be used so that your your brother and the people
will help you don't get paid.

guys that they paid and people they brought in.

dominated the last twenty years trying to tell you and
it's not equated to that, and it's and some of

what I'm saying. But they're trying to just to me

that the only guys who won the guys who pay
cuts that would buy that, guys who have had to
sustained success, not one offs, but you can, that's what
they're saying, not one offs.

where he is in life. They don't want to be

and all these rookie guys should have been able to
win because they have more money to spend on the
other pieces.

got there this year. All you want to do is
you're in the year out, have a chance. That's all
you want to be able to do. They don't want
to play with that. They don't want to play Just
be a decent team. Way that you should only put
that on a quarterback and tell us because the money
that you just tell everybody it's the guys, because the

gonna be as good as they have been. The Washing
Commanders are not gonna win seven games at the final

Allen, Yeah, because you mentioned the two fifty guaranteed, and
that is the headline. That's what all the agents are saying.
That's what ESPN, Fox Sports putting all on the mask at.
The only problem though, is when you look at the
average annual value, he's only at only right, it was
fifty five million dollars, which sounds like a lot, except
that deck is at sixty. So Josh Allen was on

a podcast that dropped earlier on Wednesday, and he was
asked about the idea of leaving money on the table
in Buffalo.

It didn't seem like it's in my perspective, I was

sense of it. When when you start getting these fairly
big numbers throughout the entire league, it's weird to say this.

good life. Got a house, got a car.

people in the league, for the other players. Tom Brady
was the worst for NFL players, the absolute worst, accepting
less than his value.

Well, you know, Patrick Mahomes, tom Brady didn't take all
the money he could have gotten, and they wanted to. No,

because you take less, don't. They hire capologists and general
managers and people, that's their job. You don't want anybody
in discount. And when you do that, you heard it.

I remember when Alex Rodriguez was leaving the Rangers. He
had a deal ready to go to the Boston Red Sox,
and the Red Sox wanted him to take a bit
of a pay cut. The union said, no way, know,
how are you taking a pay cut? It ain't about
a Rod and the Boston Red Sox about the players.

It's about all of them.

And if a Rod takes a pay cut, guess what
they're gonna be asking everybody else to take pay cuts.
You gotta always think about the greater good, not just
your own situation. And the uh the Rams won a
Super Bowl and guess what they cashed out Matthew Stafford.
They didn't have a rookie quarterback. They didn't care about

no cap concerns. Look at what the Eagles have done
in the off season. Everybody they signed is the highest
paid whatever position, and they just won a Super Bowl.
What are they doing going out paying people? They're not
sitting here going, well, you don't you don't take as
much money. You know we could do other Stop it.

Stop enabling these guys to use you, because it's wrong.
And even with Joss's case, your money ain't no totally guaranteed.

of the reason why guys are doing this, and the
reason why they're doing this is because at a certain caliber,
the only thing we judge you by now is super
Bowl wins. Josh Allen, welcome to that category. Brother, all
we judge Josh Allen Lamar Jackson. Now, what's the thing

we say? Super Bowl wins?

Let mean I just want to Yeah, so if we do,
he doesn't have a super Bowl and he's been a
failure when it comes to getting to the super Bowl.

They didn't spend the money that they saved from Tom Brady.

But here's the thing, though, guys are in as a
copycat league and Josh Allens, the Patrick Mahomes and Lamar
Jackson and so on and so forth. They're saying, I'm

had a winning season, don matter. Wow you made the postseason,
don matter? They want to get to the super Bowl.

And then they want to win a super Bowl, and
they know they're so good, too great, that we're only
gonna judge them on super Bowl titles. So what happens
is they're saying, well, shoot, if y'all only gonna judge
me on super Bowl titles and wins, well, then I
gotta have Obviously the best team around me is as
much as possible. So part of that is me not
taking sixty million. I'll take fifty forty eight whatever and
leave a couple bucks or some other players. Or I'm

Joe Burrow and I'm going out of my way to advocate.
Please sign t Higgins, please sign. I'll restructure my deal,
Please sign Jamar Chase, whatever it takes. Because Joe Burrow's
in that category, he gotta taste of it. Went to
a super Bowl but didn't win. That's what we're gonna
judge Joe Burrow by now, by g golly, he threw
a bunch of touchdowns. So there's a handful of guys,
just a handful who realized for them, my legacy's gonna

is the brainwash that they've done to these players. You

were there. Patrick Mahomes, all he's known since the start

of him being a starter is pat Super Bowl and
Super Bowl runs and Super Bowl expectations, and they see
he got the four hundred some million, did well, that
ended up being a bargain right restructuring deals.

he did, Okay, I'm just saying there's guys who have won.
It's not the only way to win. And equating that
to Tom Brady where they've screwed players up and down,

go back and call and look it up for yourself,
all those guys who didn't get paid and what they

did is they used those guys up and they didn't
pay them. Why would you agree to a system like that?
And why would you why would you allow yourself to
be used so that your your brother and the people
will help you don't get paid.

that the only guys who won the guys who pay
cuts that would buy that, guys who have had to
sustained success, not one offs, but you can, that's what

got there this year. All you want to do is
you're in the year out, have a chance. That's all

be a decent team. Way that you should only put
