I was out with the fan out score and you're liker.
Then it got up like eight or nine.

Speaker 3 (03:07):
I was like, yeah.

Speaker 5 (03:08):
I was like at the farmer's markets, like, whoa dude, relax.
I know, the peacans are good, but not that good.
I was like, not the piss never mind. I enjoyed
the peacans.

Speaker 4 (03:16):
And then all of a sudden, yeah, it was a
wowsy wowsyo.

Speaker 3 (03:21):
It was. It was, man, well the wowsy. Well I
say this respectfully.

Speaker 5 (03:25):
I got a about an hour and forty five minute,
two hour earlier call than normal this morning. Sure, yeah,
you know, I get up early, you know, I do
the morning show Spectrum News one out here in LA.
But got a call even early, like I said, about
an hour and forty five minutes earlier that uh, we
need you in.

Speaker 3 (03:42):
The pope has passed.

Speaker 5 (03:43):
I was like, oh that, you know, And obviously we
were kind of been preparing for this, uh this day.
But yeah, so that definitely made the day a little
more intense and a little more you know, reflective and
uh longer as well.

Speaker 3 (03:54):
But I'm here. I'm here to still smack you up.
That's what I got to come to do.

Speaker 4 (03:57):
We had good luck, well not that and much more,
all right. So the Easter was good. Yeah, this was beautiful, man.
I saw the family picture.

Speaker 3 (04:06):
Come on, you know we're about to have some more coming,
you know. Yeah, beautiful time.

Speaker 5 (04:09):
It was weird because we sat down and they was like, sir,
we left you one extra seat at church. They're like,
we we we we thought Rob Parker. You know, we
listened to the show and I was like, yeah, he
ain't he ain't coming.

Speaker 3 (04:21):
Wow. You know what. I was right there too, you
know I was. I was, I think I'm moving to Mexican. No, no, no,
I was working yesterday. What does that mean? Angels uh
Giants game? That's where I was yesterday on the Easter sun.
So that's what we call watching the game eating hot dogs. Well,
I was working. That's what we call working. Doing a
stand up interviews all that. You didn't do? No stand up?

(04:42):
Sure did, I'm sure m LB.

Speaker 5 (04:44):
Bro Okay, I was about to say you otherwise out
all right, I let that slide.

Speaker 3 (04:48):
Like, wow, I listened to you see you here doing
stand ups up. That's right, MLB, bro, we're here live.

Speaker 5 (04:55):
Look at you, look at you on the camera to
who's the the camera working?

Speaker 3 (05:00):
Actually? You know what? There was another reporter there and
I said, can you hold the camera for me?

Speaker 5 (05:05):
I swear like I got the I'll go get the
next batch of hot dogs whatever.

Speaker 3 (05:09):
You just hold this camera for me. Weekend was good though, No, no, no,
all good. That's good.

Speaker 4 (05:14):
All right, Let's welcome into the odd couple crew Cook.
We wouldn't be able to do this fine radio program
without him. Of course, Ryan is in for Rob g
who I think still works here.

Speaker 3 (05:23):
I don't know. This is week five. I think he's
got this weekend next week. I keep trying to convince me,
is that right, Ryan? Right? I believe it's when he returns.
Shut up before you get fired. Just don't even say nothing.

Speaker 4 (05:36):
I'm gonna say, okay, okay, us C. Chris is our engineer.

Speaker 6 (05:42):
I'm gonna be honest. This has been a really long time.
So I am like still finding all the screws around here.

Speaker 3 (05:47):
Okay, we got you man. You better FaceTime, Alex? Where
are you at? Alex?

Speaker 7 (05:51):
Alex is not answering no FaceTime on.

Speaker 5 (05:53):
Day trust me. You ain't got to tell me. I
know you're out here and you might not know.

Speaker 3 (05:57):
But USC Chris was one of my students at US,
so let me just think. No, I'm just saying that, Steve.

Speaker 5 (06:04):
I think Steve and I are the only people who
aren't in your class. And Steve already has spoken to
your class. So Steve my class how many times?

Speaker 3 (06:12):
Twice? You no longer count, So I'm hanging on.

Speaker 5 (06:14):
I'm the last person has nothing to do with affiliation
with you in academia.

Speaker 6 (06:18):
Wait, I'm all wait, you've never invited me to speak
at a class.

Speaker 3 (06:22):
No, but you are. You're in his class, not yet.

Speaker 7 (06:24):
I was. It was one of his first students.

Speaker 3 (06:26):
That's my point.

Speaker 5 (06:27):
Everyone in this entire office is somehow connected to Rob
in his school or something.

Speaker 4 (06:32):
I had to twist USC Chris's arm to get at
my class. I was my I'm trying to convince him.

Speaker 3 (06:38):
And he got in. No, it's true, and he enjoyed it. Yes, No,
yes I did. I did.

Speaker 6 (06:42):
I got to see Joe Dumars, who I had only
met before.

Speaker 7 (06:46):
He came in.

Speaker 3 (06:47):
No, Zoom came in right. It was jealous.

Speaker 4 (06:49):
It was great, Ran, That's all right, you know, maybe
after you get married, you can get married.

Speaker 3 (06:55):
I was like, I'm not.

Speaker 7 (06:55):
Doing that because I went to Kelsey Northridge.

Speaker 3 (06:58):
There you go.

Speaker 5 (06:58):
I was at ce Son all right, that's where the
church because it was so many people they had to
have service there at seven. Yes, I saw what I
saw your name up somewhere.

Speaker 3 (07:06):
Thank you.

Speaker 4 (07:07):
All right, Steve the Seger's at the anchor desk. Go
keep us updated throughout the program. And of course, Elijah
is our social media heard the rule.

Speaker 3 (07:15):
That's right, Elijah. All right, let's get into this.

Speaker 4 (07:19):
The postseason is underway big time, and let's start with
the Pistons. They played the Knicks in Game two coming
up in about twenty two minutes.

Speaker 3 (07:26):
They tip off Madison Square Garden.

Speaker 4 (07:28):
Game two got off to a great start, had the
Knicks on their heels up by eight to.

Speaker 3 (07:33):
Start the fourth quarter.

Speaker 4 (07:34):
Yeah, you gotta feel good about that, right, You got
the home team pressing a little bit, the crowd of
the little Antsia the Knick's gonna lose Game one to.

Speaker 3 (07:42):
The upstart Pistons.

Speaker 4 (07:43):
And then the bright lights and the stage got too
big for the Pistons as the Knicks one on a
twenty one to nothing run twenty one to No, that's
not like they played a good fourth quarter and just lost.

Speaker 3 (08:00):
Where you could accept it.

Speaker 4 (08:02):
That was they wet their pants, wet their bed, whatever
you term you want to use it.

Speaker 3 (08:06):
When it came.

Speaker 4 (08:06):
Pushed to shove, because that was a moment. And as
an upstart Kelvin, you know this. You want to steal
game one, yep, game one on the road of the
whole team, right, the home team, they're right, the Pistons, whatever,
and you could get that one and get their attention.

Speaker 3 (08:25):
And it didn't happen. They blew it.

Speaker 5 (08:27):
They blew it, but they didn't know how to seal
the deal. And that was the problem. And it was
a parent if you watch the game, and everybody except
for maybe two you got Dinnis shooters played in some games,
obviously Mark, Mark Beasley and and you know, Obias Harris.
Outside of that, most of the guys, Elik bes it.

(08:48):
Most of the guys haven't played it in playoff games.
Most of them haven't played it in the playoff games.
Understood the intensity, and not only in playoff games. You
know this as a New Yorker, playing an MSG is
a thing. And when you're playing a Madison Square Garden
when people are having high hope for the Knicks and
this was supposed to be a season where we all
agree they underachieved some but now they're like, hey, it's

(09:09):
a new season. When the postseason and they got cat
yep cats here Brunton's back. You you got smacked in
the face and they had to learn, oh, the ball
games are different, the fourth quarter is different, playing on
the road is different in the playoffs, and the Pistons
guy reminded of that or introduced to that for so
many of the ones who this was their first go

(09:30):
at it, and that's exactly what happened. Credit the Knicks
for the way they decided to guard k Cunningham because
they knew he.

Speaker 4 (09:37):
Was there the end, the guy that's the guy you
go after make some other guys. And it was working
except Kate in the fourth quarter through the ball away,
what do you have three or four turnovers?

Speaker 3 (09:48):
He was just sloppy.

Speaker 4 (09:49):
Yeah uh, and maybe that was some of the pressure
that the Knicks put on him. But it was not
a good fourth quarter for the Knicks, and you could
like to just brush it off, but yeah, that.

Speaker 3 (10:00):
Was the game to me.

Speaker 4 (10:02):
If they were gonna get an upset in that series
like they needed to win, Like that's the one because
you put the Knicks where they don't have too much
room margin for era. You could go for the juggular
in game two because you did what you wanted to do,
which is a split. You go back home to Detroit,
the crowd is pumped. You want a game, you know
what I mean? Like that, that is the way that

(10:23):
you the best laid playing. It doesn't mean the series
is over and they're not gonna win a game, but
you can't have a meltdown like that in that situation.
And what I thought was, this is a good young team,
but they're not ready for prime time yet.

Speaker 3 (10:38):
I mean history, I got history.

Speaker 5 (10:39):
History shows us that you know, we've talked about it
that you usually kind of got to get your bumps
and bruises, your lumps in the NBA, specifically the playoffs.
But to me, this Nick team hasn't been the most steady.
This Nick team hasn't been the most consistent. This Nick
team when pressured when forced hasn't been that great. And
surprisingly their defense have been the thing that hadn't been

(11:00):
the greatest. And you thought, if anything, a Tims team
would be defensive minded. Their offense had been fine, their
defense had been good. And I think, if I'm the
Pistons and I'm JB. Bickerstaff, I'm like, this is still
the thing we can hang on throughout the season. Their
defense was not great. We have a bunch of guys
that score enough points. We get ten from him, twelve
from him, fifteen for him, and you saw it. If

(11:21):
I would have told you that Kate Cunningham would have
such a poor game, you would think you had no shot.
But you know you have twenty five from Tobias Harris,
you get twenty from a league Baasley, you get nineteen
from Tim Hardaway junior. The veterans came to play. Those
are three veterans, guys who've been in it, know what
it takes. And you see was the younger players assure
Thompson Kate was struggling. Durren never gets you seven points

(11:44):
and let alone six rebounds. He might get you seven
and seventeen. So I think they all got shook. The
bright lights of Madison Square Garden, all the celebrities there,
the crowd going crazy, and like you mentioned, it reminds
me again, this is pro so I don't to say
like that it reminds me of but what I remember being
in high school, rob and as the games got bigger, right,

(12:05):
you're playing regular season game, as it goes to city,
the district to regional. Dude, every turnoff were the most
worst thing that ever too. It's just a turn on,
Get back on d. In your mind, that turnover was
the biggest thing that ever happened in your life. And
I think that happened to some of those Pistons. You
turn the ball over, No, dude, get back on d
We'll be fine. Stop and get the ball back. But

(12:25):
in your mind, you're shook. The crowd's going crazy. You
embarrass you, I let the team down. It's like, due,
we got five minutes leapt We're okay. But in your head, again,
it was only high school. But I'm just saying I
can see how that happens, where you get shook and
you're like, man, it's hard to rattle those things and
get that get back.

Speaker 3 (12:40):
You get so rattled and startled.

Speaker 4 (12:42):
And see, here's the other thing that I think is
the wake up that the Pistons delivered to the Knicks
is that they got off to a slow start. They
weren't sluggish, they weren't playing that great, and they got told, ay,
don't play around, look at what the Pistons had you
down by eight. So they got to come out with
a different mindset for this game, you know what I'm saying.

Speaker 5 (13:02):
Like they did a good job equally on Brunton, he
was like four for fifteen or something going on in the
third and it made him work too, So a great
both teams.

Speaker 3 (13:11):
That no job making those stars work.

Speaker 5 (13:13):
But you mentioned having Carlyn Thomas who played good defensively too,
which is not his strong front towards the end. And
Cameron Payne was a pain and Pistons fans, but because
he came in and him and Brunton had an eighteen
point run themselves him between the two.

Speaker 4 (13:29):
Twenty one nothing And that's what that game is. Game
two is coming up in about fifteen minutes or so,
eight seven seven, good ninety nine on Fox. Who's got
the advantage on the Jordan's bet? Is it me or Kelvin?
Of course, in case you don't know, I have the Knicks,
he has the Pistons.

Speaker 5 (13:48):
Some people tweeting me already, pair of Jordan's tweet people
sent me some joy like like pictures of or jokes
are like here to go to George, You're about to
be buying one.

Speaker 4 (13:58):
Game Player eight seven, seven ninety nine on Fox The
stage too big for the upstar Pistons? Or did the
Knicks get lucky? What happened? Twenty one point lead? Twenty
one to nothing? Run and where are you? Has this series?
Can the Pistons bounce back? I know it's only one game,
but it looked like they gave away a golden opportunity

(14:19):
at Madison Square Garden.

Speaker 3 (14:20):
All right?

Speaker 4 (14:21):

is to dominate? Where the Pistons shook and the Pistons
miss out on the golden opportunity to have his way

(16:00):
to maybe steal this series eight seven, seven ninety nine
on Fox taking your calls.

Speaker 3 (16:04):
Who we got.

Speaker 4 (16:05):
Let's go Andre in Massachusetts. You're on the one couple
of Fox Sports Radio. What's up, Drey?

Speaker 8 (16:11):
Hey, what's going on?

Speaker 9 (16:12):
Happy Patriots Day? Happy Monday?

Speaker 8 (16:14):
Listen. I got to say advantage Calvin in terms of
what happened in that game won. The Christons weren't complete control.
They had the Nick absolutely befuddled.

Speaker 9 (16:21):
I credit JB.

Speaker 8 (16:22):
Bickerstaff with certain things he did defensively, putting Asoor Thompson
on Jalen Brunson completely took him out of the offense,
out of the flow. He's a very capable defender. And
then Campaign came in with the confidence, hit a couple
of threes, and then they got the momentum and Detroit
showed their youth and inexperience in those moments. In that moment,
but that is Sorr. They had the game in control

(16:43):
and certain things about the Knicks. Their offense was completely stagnant.

Speaker 9 (16:47):
You had mckel bridges.

Speaker 8 (16:48):
Just standing over in the corner as if he's not
you know, an all star level type of a player.
They're just playing this one to four flat system behind
Jalen Brunson. So they had that opportunity. They you know,
they got caught in the cross heres and and flinch,
but certainly advanced Christians. If the Knicks don't change these
systemic things, they got to switch up the defense. They
gotta use Mickel Bridges more. Stop using him as a
b sports I hear you, Dre.

Speaker 4 (17:09):
I think though the Pistons, the Knicks got a wake
up call from that game, you know what I mean,
They got away with it and they were able to
win because they were able to do go on that
twenty one to.

Speaker 3 (17:20):
Nothing run, which just doesn't happen that often.

Speaker 4 (17:23):
And from there, like if you come in, you can't
tell me they're gonna be not aggressive and take a
look to fix those things to make sure that they're
not in that kind of a hole.

Speaker 3 (17:33):
I expect him to go up too.

Speaker 4 (17:36):
Oh I really do a play it like just a
solid game and win like they should do at home.

Speaker 3 (17:41):
I think it's gonna be.

Speaker 5 (17:42):
One thing I love about this young Piston group is,
and you know this from covering sports, sometimes you get
a team that's just young and dumb and they don't
know they're not supposed to win. And they have a
little bit of that in them where I can see
them saying, uh, oh, you should just be happy you
be here. You guys want fourteen games. Now you're at
forty four. That was good enough. I see them fully
expecting to come in tonight, go into Massion Square Garden,

(18:02):
fix what they you know, messed up, and say we
were the better team for forty minutes of that forty eight, right,
And I agree with that, but I mean they have
to cight. You have to psych yourself out, you know,
and say we're the better team.

Speaker 3 (18:15):
Get back to what we do and we'll be fine.

Speaker 5 (18:18):
And I expect k cunney had a much better game
because if you just looked at Okay, twenty one points,
that wasn't back. No, he played, he didn't play well
he had that well you can just look at stats.

Speaker 3 (18:26):
Yep. It was a compliment to him too.

Speaker 5 (18:28):
If addressing oh, I'm a I'm gonna they view me
as a star, so they're guarding me this way, I
think that was a wake up call for him, right,
you know, welcome, Well, huh, it's different. On the random
Tuesday night and in January. Yeah, this is the playoffs.

Speaker 4 (18:41):
Rich in Seattle. You're on the couple of Fox Sports Radio.
What's up Rich?

Speaker 9 (18:46):
Hey, gentlemen, thanks for taking the call here.

Speaker 3 (18:48):
That's for sure.

Speaker 9 (18:48):
Worrying for the for two reasons.

Speaker 2 (18:50):
One because I'm from the worst city of America, Newark,
New Jersey, so I got to pull for Detroit.

Speaker 9 (18:57):
And then two deep.

Speaker 2 (19:00):
It was the all time great nickname.

Speaker 9 (19:02):
It's up there with Chocolate Thunder and Doctors Jet. Anyway, fellas,
you have a good night.

Speaker 3 (19:08):
The stuos out there. Man, he's out Rich.

Speaker 4 (19:10):
He's not playing rich, he's not playing no beat, no potatoes. Well,
then I'll have to light up another ball.

Speaker 2 (19:18):
I say, yeah, you go.

Speaker 5 (19:20):
I thought you were going to get through the night. Yeah,
he's out right now. Knee issues. He was kind of
coming into the series. Man, that's a blow toe.

Speaker 4 (19:27):
Yeah.

Speaker 5 (19:27):
You need effort. Guy's energy. Guys, you absolutely need that.
And so having him out is not a good thing
for the Pissons. But it'll be fun to getting ready
to start here in the next few minutes. Uh So
we're looking forward to that. We got Will Barton, who
played in the league the Association years.

Speaker 3 (19:41):
What's that?

Speaker 4 (19:42):
He also came to USC when they did a broadcast
boot camp and I was wanted people to teach n
Barton about being on television and.

Speaker 3 (19:52):
That transitional from being in the game. Great, he was great.
That's nice. All right, we'll have him on in just
a minute.

Speaker 2 (19:58):

Speaker 3 (20:16):
Will, Man, what's going on? How are you? Will? What up?

Speaker 9 (20:19):
Man? It was good sALS? How y'all doing doing?

Speaker 3 (20:21):
Good?

Speaker 2 (20:22):
Man?

Speaker 3 (20:22):
Rob, we're off.

Speaker 5 (20:23):
Told me spend some time just remember everything he taught
you just forgetting no no No.

Speaker 4 (20:27):
Will was one of the best students there at USC
when we did the NBA boot camp broadcast boot camp.

Speaker 3 (20:33):
How was that? Was that a good experience for you?

Speaker 9 (20:37):
Very good experience, man. I'm thinking about diving deep into
it now that I'm wrapping my playing days up, so
I'll be looking forward to getting getting more ABSOLU to
that field.

Speaker 2 (20:48):
Now.

Speaker 4 (20:49):
Awesome we'd like to have you too on this show,
so we'll talk about that as we go forward. Are
the Nicks and Pistons of just about tipped off? I
got started, uh stage fright for the pitch since when
it mattered that the twenty one to nothing run by
the Knicks when they really had played, you know, pretty
well through the three quarters and they went into the
fourth quarter I think up by eight. What was that order?

(21:11):
The Knicks just regained their mojo and beat them.

Speaker 9 (21:17):
I just think we saw a team, you know, that's
been to the playoffs. They have a lot of experience
at home against the team that's you know, going into
the playoffs for the first time as a group. I mean,
they have little playoff experience, especially from their main guys,
and you could tell when the Knicks took advantage of that,

(21:37):
and that's what you want to through from an experienced
ball club. The first guy in my home, so I
think they just did what they were supposed to do
is Detroit Haster, you know, go through growing paints. Kate
has never been there that said, you know, they're superstar.
Jalen Durant, the Thompson Twins, you know a lot of
those A lot of those guys are new to this

(21:59):
and then you you're not only new, but then you're
playing on one of the biggest stages in the world
at the Garden. So you know, they just have to
you know, grow up and through experience, and it's you know,
sometimes you got to go through it the hard way.

Speaker 5 (22:11):
Well, I want to ask you this. You played in
playoff games. What's it like? I was just telling Rob
on a Tuesday night in February. Was just a game
you're playing. It could be anybody could be the next
to be the Nuggets, Pissons, whatever, versus playing in the playoffs.

Speaker 3 (22:23):
What how much does it ratchet up? What's it like?

Speaker 5 (22:26):
What's that real difference like for us who didn't play
in the NBA.

Speaker 9 (22:31):
It's just a different experience, man. And you could feel
it from the from the warm ups. Man, it's just
a different energy than the game. It's just a different
It's just a different ball game. It's more physical. Guys
are more locked in, uh, you know, easy layas ass breaks, Uh.
You know, guys closing gaps much faster. Everyone is just

(22:54):
you know, giving their best and you got a game
plan every night, scout report every night. Whereas though in
the regular season, you know, it's game the game, so
it's a new opponent every night, so guys is not
as locked in because you know, we might have the
Hawks one night and then the next night we might
have the Knicks. So now with a seven game serves

(23:17):
a whole team, coaching staff, everyone's attention is in the youth,
so it's harder to get off in those type games.

Speaker 4 (23:25):
He is.

Speaker 5 (23:25):
Will Barton, of course, played in the league for eleven
seasons now is helping us out break down the NBA
playoffs here with the Acopa Robin Kelvin on the Magic
City Mondays.

Speaker 4 (23:35):
So, Will, let's talk about your former team, the Nuggets,
and uh, you know, ever since they fired Mike Malone,
things haven't gone south there.

Speaker 3 (23:43):
I've gotten better, Like they're rolling.

Speaker 4 (23:46):
And that was a big win over the Clippers and
a really good game, you know what I mean In
that situation, the Clippers have been playing as well as anybody.
Talk about that, winning that game at home and what
that can do for a team as well.

Speaker 9 (24:01):
Man, that was you know, sometimes you just need a
new energy, and you see ownership and management felt like,
you know, the Nuggets, you know, need a new energy.
By getting rid of the GM and the coaching, and
you see it, Like you said, those guys have been
playing a little much better, getting after it on both
sides of the ball. It has that Jamal is back healthy.

Speaker 8 (24:25):
Uh.

Speaker 9 (24:25):
I think they got all their guys from the rotation
back and they're trying to put some things together. They
already had that championship extend, so it's not like they're
seeing anything new now. It's just about health and being
able to put it all together at the right time.
So we'll see as the player playoffs progress, you know,
if they if they if they really got better from

(24:46):
making that move or not. You know, obviously we only
have a small sample size. He got fired with I
think what three to four games left and they and
they only played one playoff game. So we'll see as
this shirt just goes on. You know, did they get better,
did they take a step back, And we'll see what
we got from them.

Speaker 3 (25:05):
All right.

Speaker 5 (25:05):
You know, we got to talk about the Lakers, and
we're gonna have a whole extended conversation. That's an understatement.
I feel like Debo came to snatched their chain. That's
what I feel like. The way Minnesota came in and
to La and and and stole that game from them.

Speaker 3 (25:21):
What did you see from that? They just looked lackluster.

Speaker 5 (25:24):
They looked like it had energy, but also don't want
to put it in make it all about They want
to give credit to Minnesota who came in with a
game plan and executed your thoughts.

Speaker 9 (25:32):
Yeah, the Lakers came out of the fire, you know,
at home and respected Lacas first playoff, first playoff debut
with the Lakers, so you know, they come up with
a lot of energy and fire, and Luca was on
a tear in that first quarter, and you know, Minnesota
looked like they just said, Okay, we're going to take
this first punch and see if you continue this all game,

(25:52):
and the Lakers couldn't. Minnesota really got answer room defensively,
you know, made those guys work. I think, man, he
didn't have a big scoring night, but I think it
was one of his most complete games in the playoffs.
The way he was orchestrating the offense, rebound and playmaking,
getting guys open shots, and he did a little bit

(26:12):
of scoring too. I think he just played a very
very mature game, a very mature floor game, and he
defended at a high level in Minnesota. Look their team,
you know that's coming out for Western Conference Finals appearance,
so you know they're not scared. You know, they've made
a deep playoff run. So with them, it's just about
getting back there and seeing what they can do. The Lakers,

(26:34):
you know, like this is a new team, was Luca
and now they have to you know adjust. I think
the Lakers' biggest problem is, you know, defense man, who
are you going to get to defend in that starting lineup?
I mean Lebron James at forty years old. You know
he's not trying to dra out the best play at
night in his night out. You know, we know Luca

(26:58):
problems in the defensive side. Austin Reeves has never been
known as the spot. So we compete though, and now
you're looking at you know, Rory Patrick Moore as maybe
the best defender in the start round up. And you know,
I love Ry, I played with one of my guys,
but he's not a lockdown defenders. He's an average defender

(27:18):
at best. That compete, so they're gonna have to figure
that out in the playoffs. How they can you know,
come together and defend collectively as a group. If they
want to, you know, make a deep playoff run, but
you know, you never want to overreact first game against
a team that's made a playoff run. So we got
to see how that progresses out though.

Speaker 3 (27:38):
All right, well we got less of a minute.

Speaker 4 (27:40):
One last thing, just okay, see everybody, just you know,
they're young, they're not buying into them. Then they just
blow out Memphis by fifty one in game one of
the posts for them.

Speaker 3 (27:52):
I mean, did they send a statement or what?

Speaker 9 (27:54):
Woo? Definitely sad a statement and you guys think about it.
Shade didn't even you know, play his ly as far
as sporing right, and they still and they still won
by fifty.

Speaker 1 (28:05):
Uh.

Speaker 9 (28:05):
That definitely set the message because you know, you did
a lot of people say, you know, it's okay, say okay,
see for real, can they win the championship? A lot
of doubt. They want to talk about their youth, and
you know, do they have anyone else to rely on
besides Shade? They don't have a legit second or superstars.
So I think they sent the message loudly clear. And

(28:26):
you know, you guys can say all you want about us,
you're not scared of us, whatever, but we just gonna
come out and win ball games and win Loudley. So
the statement received yeah doubt.

Speaker 5 (28:39):
They just said, Hey, we've been smacking people of all year.
We don't know why y'all keep doubting us.

Speaker 4 (28:44):
Hey, will Man, Well, thanks appreciate you stuff, Thank you,
my man.

Speaker 3 (30:19):
You well, not as great as I wanted to make
it out to be. One and two. Wait, I know,
I don't.

Speaker 5 (30:27):
You didn't hear it A cart wheel poked your chest
out and feeling good.

Speaker 3 (30:32):
You weren't feeling good. I was believing in you. You
know what it was?

Speaker 4 (30:35):
I think it was because of the one I got, right,
if I remember, I think it was an NBA one.
It was another one even though you know a step
to my Jordan's. But anyway, you are, you are one
just right. I still got three more to go. Uh tonight,
Nick's minus six and a half at the Garden taking
on the Pistons. That's my best bet. I just expect

(30:58):
a better game out of all round game for the Knicks.
One good game at home. They didn't have that last time,
but they did win Clippers minus one and a half
in Denver.

Speaker 3 (31:07):
I think they even that series. Yeah, that was a
really good game. That was a game. And then I
got the Padres plus one.

Speaker 4 (31:13):
And a half runs. I'm gonna need them all about
to say, because the Tigers earliest to two. It's only
the third inning, but six runs already early on in
in Detroit. So again, uh, Padres plus one and a
half runs, Clippers minus one and a half points, and
the Knicks minus six and a half. And remember, I'm

(31:33):
not telling you who to bet on. I'm telling you
who I bet on. Yep one and two. You got
me all excited about that. It was a little you
got me.

Speaker 3 (31:43):
Uh, that was a little bit. This was a no brainer. Well,
some people thought he was coming.

Speaker 5 (31:48):
I was gonna say, except for the I didn't one
or two things. You could say, well, maybe the we're
talking about Cooper flag declared and he's going to the
NBA Draft.

Speaker 3 (31:58):
Obviously they say he would have the number one pick.
Matt Lion. I'm just saying, hey, Matt, what should I do?

Speaker 2 (32:04):
Man?

Speaker 4 (32:05):
College was a blast? You should go back. Yeah, Man,
the dorms are fun. Yeah no, no, give me the I'll
be an NBA player number.

Speaker 3 (32:12):
One overall pick.

Speaker 5 (32:13):
I'll buy a dorm room, exactly whole dormitory. But there
was a thought that maybe because he got so close
to getting, you know, in the championship game and winning
a championship, and that he would want to compete, come
back and compete.

Speaker 3 (32:26):
Sorry, didn't happen. I'm sorry.

Speaker 5 (32:29):
Like, like, man, maybe maybe I have ten twelve years
to win an NBA championship.

Speaker 4 (32:33):
I'm done, Like, you're not going back. It ain't automatic
win a tournament, especially like that. You know what I mean,
that's true.

Speaker 5 (32:39):
I mean, teams keep rebuilding, teams, you get bit just
as you think you'll be better, they think they'll be better. Yeah,
it's just a no, Brady, you just have to go
number one.

Speaker 3 (32:48):
Like like, and you know, he got banged up. This year.

Speaker 4 (32:52):
You don't want something bad to happen, and then you
and then you regret it, like what were you thinking?

Speaker 3 (32:56):
What are you doing?

Speaker 5 (32:57):
And I get it again, he's so good that he
would be a number one pick last year out of
high school, this year and next year either way.

Speaker 3 (33:04):
But still you just don't know, and you just don't
want to risk it.

Speaker 5 (33:07):
Uh And I mean too, I think ultimately he is
a basket ball fanatic, Like he loves the game.

Speaker 3 (33:13):
He is all about it.

Speaker 5 (33:14):
So I think for him and remember when he played
against the USA team, he was a part of that,
you know team they were playing as they were gearing
up to get ready to go for the Olympics. All
the reports where he played well, he was a problem
for them, And so I think there's an element of
him being like, all right, I got my little you know,
beak wet. I'm ready to go out there and compete
against the best of the best too. So I absolutely
believe that played a role in it. Yeah, it was

(33:36):
a no brainer. There's other people who I get the
nil Bundy is real. If you're you know, maybe a
second round projector or late first I can understand that, you.

Speaker 3 (33:44):
See, but the first overall pick out.

Speaker 5 (33:49):
They already got a whole Nike campaign al ready for me,
got commercials ready for me.

Speaker 3 (33:54):
I think it's a no brainer.

Speaker 4 (33:57):
Like even though there were people trying to say, oh,
well you still stays, still make money, still do this?
Still no, no, no, go to the NBA when you're
when they call it, when you're ready to go.

Speaker 3 (34:06):
And it ain't like you're some tween or like.

Speaker 5 (34:08):
You said, say yeah, you know, I get that now,
because you know the contract might be I only make this.
Well I can make that in college, you know, and
maybe compete for something or or or I just enjoy
the experience. I can maybe understand that for some players
for sure, But for the Cooper flag, nah, it's gonna
be interesting. I think he's gonna be good man. Just

(34:28):
like I said, watching his game defensively, I love that
he competes. I love that he plays defense so that
he's locked in. He's not just one of those you know,
if I if my SHOT's going, I'm great.

Speaker 3 (34:39):
If it's not, I'm out.

Speaker 5 (34:41):
He's competitive, he's smart, he passes, he plays defense, and
he can, and he's athletic. To yeah, I remember hearing
the hype and you know two three years ago, shut
it down, let me see if he's really all at
And then I saw him played.

Speaker 3 (34:54):
I was like, oh, he really is.

Speaker 5 (34:55):
Then we saw him in college, so it wasn't like
he's just beating up on kids wherever he's from. He
played in a bunch different basketball tournaments even while in
high school, different people, different locations.

Speaker 3 (35:03):
Yeah, he's gonna be really good.

Speaker 5 (35:05):
So whoever ends up getting him, you know, they're gonna hopefully,
barring any injury, I think they're gonna have a good
guy for you know, the next seven, eight, ten years.

Speaker 4 (35:13):
Noah, No, I mean he made the right decision. He's
in the right spot. This is what you work for,
this is what you dream about. So when it comes
you just take it, you know, don't overthink it.

Speaker 5 (35:27):
Yeah, that's I like, yeah, keep it simple, stupid, kiss it.
Well we ever get I know, we got like ten
seconds here, but we ever get to the Just let
Cooper flag go to the league, you know, just no
more want and done, just get if you want to
go to the league.

Speaker 3 (35:38):
Eventually he's gonna get back to that, and that's where
it should be. I agree, because like, if he if
he can, if we're a prodigy.

Speaker 5 (35:44):
You should go to the league that's like nobody else
hold you back, absolutely all right.

Speaker 3 (35:48):
