Speaker 3 (00:38):
Gift card to tract Or Supply, which Zach Harper, I'm
Martin Wise joint here was Zach Harper, I have to
ask you twenty five hundred dollars to Track Supply.

Speaker 2 (00:46):
What's your first purchase? Ooh, that's a good question, man.
I've always Wow, man, I would really like some kind
of like serious power tool. Yeah, I mean they got
it there, I know, like a like I want to
like a like a serious chainsaw. I think it's a

(01:08):
serious change because you got those like little chain saws, right,
like if you go to like I don't know, well
maybe this is like a really white thing of me.
But like if you go to like a haunted maize, No, no,
I've done that, like a corn made that's right. Yeah,
And like they come out there and they've like they've
got the little chainsaw and like but the chain's not us,
so it's not running, but they like scare you with
the sound or whatever, right, and so and I'm like,

(01:29):
I'm not saying it couldn't hurt me. Obviously they could
kill me. But like I want like like those like
lumberjat competitions like that kind of chainsaw something that like
you know those like those nights sure where who had
like those like real like clay More swords that like
bigger than their body. Like I want a chainsaw like that.
I could like wield. I don't know if that's twenty
five hundred dollars, but it spends. It's a lot of that.

Speaker 3 (01:51):
So like like the the like the priced waters clearing
house check size, yeah, chainsaw, Yeah, like where I could
cut through like a buick or something, come with the
lot of he tyrack dot com studios. Well up, you
get there with an unmatched election. Fast free shipping Freeroid
has a protection over ten thousand recommending the stallers tyraq
dot com the way tire buying should be. No word

(02:11):
if tyrack dot Com can help you, if Zach Harper
cuts through your buick. But we are in the midst
of March madness. Steve Hartman still atop the leaderboards. Congratulations
to Steve.

Speaker 2 (02:21):
I heard that.

Speaker 3 (02:21):
Yeah, you won't not hear it until he's no longer
in first place. I am in eighth place or seventh place,
tied with Ben Mahler, Jason Martin, Steve Seger just a
notch ahead of me. Uh some notabment to Colin Cowherd
Doug Gottlieb third in the tournament in the brackets.

Speaker 2 (02:39):
What hurts you? Like? What? What where did you miss? Uh?

Speaker 3 (02:43):
You know where I honestly missed was all season where
I did not watch enough college basketball to be able
to make any accurate predictions whatsoever.

Speaker 2 (02:52):
He was funny. He's like, so I have a friend
who was you know. He he's he's in like sports media,
but he's he's a producer for a gambling company. Sure,
and I don't want to give any free advertising out here.
But he's like, he hits me up the other day,
He's like, hey, man, what do you think of what
you think of Danny Wolf of Michigan. I was like, dog,

(03:13):
I have not watched a single second of Michigan basketball.
He's like, but you like covered draft stuff. I was like, yep,
I binge watched all the like the prospects, like the
month before the draft. That's when I get into draft coverage.
Like I'll I've watched Cooper Flag. I've watched a lot
of these guys, but anyone outside that top ten to
twelve projection, I'll be lucky if I can guess which

(03:34):
school A're at.

Speaker 3 (03:34):
I'll tell you. I can tell you about Danny Wolf.
Seven feet tall. He has the college basketball level handle,
but the problem is he won't be able to handle
it at a high at the next level.

Speaker 2 (03:46):
Yeah, he doesn't have the athleticisim to get around people.

Speaker 3 (03:48):
Yeah, but if he can, if he can improve his
three four shooting, he gets shoot better for the free
throw line, He'll can he could back up somebody's four
spots for a long time.

Speaker 2 (03:56):
Any league, Hey, you get that, you get to ten years,
you get that pension. That's all you.

Speaker 3 (04:00):
Michigan does advance taking care of Texas A And now
Michigan was a trendy upset pick to start the tournament.
You see San Diego, everybody remember that. That was everybody's upset.
That was the big five twelve matchup that we were
supposed to see. We actually saw McNee State be the
five twelve upset over Clemson and the legends that grew

(04:21):
from that.

Speaker 2 (04:22):
We'll talk about that in about forty five minutes.

Speaker 3 (04:24):
But to now, I don't ask you what was the
best game so far that you thought you saw so
far in this tournament?

Speaker 2 (04:29):
Oh, I mean McNeice was fun. That was a that
was a fun one. I had a lot of fun
today with with Arkansas. Saint John's. Yes like that to me.
And maybe maybe some of it is the fact that
Saint John's was back, and some of it is the
Patino Calipari you know, factor into this and everything, so
you know, you've got some some nostalgia there. But it's
also I just thought it was a fun game, you know,

(04:52):
I don't I don't want to sound ungrateful. I love
this time of year. I love March madness. It's been
a little mild and so I feel like the we
haven't had a lot of good games that are like
down to the wire and and so McNeice was was
obviously one of those Arkansas Saint John's was was. I

(05:14):
mean even I guess like you know, Michigan and Michigan
Texas A and M like they you know, it was
close for a minute and then and.

Speaker 3 (05:22):
See San Diego was act that was a three point
game down the stretch, but it wasn't, to your point,
one of those where it's like two.

Speaker 2 (05:28):
Seconds off of the clock if they don't like we
don't have any like like buzzer beating right right. And
also like, all right, we're not this bothers me that
you said this was a trendy upset pick. Okay, Now,
granted I'm a bitter person that went to San Diego State.
You're not picking you see San Diego. That's not a thing.
I'm telling you.

Speaker 3 (05:46):
Maybe maybe maybe I'm too close to it, because every
time I heard it, I was like, you're picked.

Speaker 2 (05:50):
I was like, did you not just watch Michigan win
the Big Ten Tournament? I was I was salty on
blue Sky, you know social media. I was salty on
Blue Sky when san Diego State UH cheated by North Carolina.
By cheated. I mean, I don't think you should be
allowed to score ninety plus points against San Diego State.
I don't thin you should be allowed to score seventy
plus points against San Diego State because that's not fair.
We don't score over seventy points. That's not fair. But

(06:12):
but so someone must have assumed, like I just wanted
San Diego schools to to win, and so they're like,
what about you see san Diego. My response was, what
is this a spelling beat? That's not gonna like what
are we gonna do here? Like that's not a thing.

Speaker 1 (06:24):
You see?

Speaker 2 (06:24):
San Diego is like a win.

Speaker 3 (06:26):
That's how I felt today reading the score of the
women's USC versus UNC Wilmington.

Speaker 2 (06:31):
That's cool. I'm sure it's a fine school. Seventy one
to twenty five.

Speaker 3 (06:38):
I mean, you want to talk about you know the
kids say belta ass Yeah, first round of the women's
tournament is a lot of B two A absolutely so well,
but I think so do we run into this a lot?
And I think you're maybe a little bit older than me.

Speaker 2 (06:52):
But we're the same.

Speaker 3 (06:54):
We both grew up in cars that had CD players
and remember that, and remember broad band when it happened, we.

Speaker 2 (07:00):
Both removed the face of our radio so our car.
So I wonder if we look back at some of
these is it more. I think this happens a lot with.

Speaker 3 (07:11):
The NBA, So I'm wondering if it's trickling down down
to March madness, where it's more these games, Like how
many tournaments had like meg like moment after moment after
moment after moment, Like are we cherry picking right now?
To is like we just haven't seen the three big
moments from this tournament yet that will be seared in
all of our brain.

Speaker 2 (07:32):
I think that's fair. Like I do think there are
some years where like that first day, like within the
first two sets of games, right, those first two sets
in the mor like, you do get a couple of
moments you're like, Wow, this is the greatest tournament ever,
and then it might be like not that for the
rest of the weekend. Right, So I do think that
it happens every few years. But you're right, like I

(07:53):
do think this is probably cherry picking a little bit.
I had fun during during Oklahoma, Yukon. But I also
just I love watching Jeremiah Fears, Like, I just think
he's super fun and he's a problem. He's he's gonna
be good at the next level. He's gonna be really good.
So those are the fun games. But yeah, like I
it might just be we haven't had a buzzer BD
yet and once we get that, it's gonna be this tournament. Bro.

Speaker 3 (08:15):
This always delivered, always delivers exactly. But I do think
that's just one of the I think we do that
so much because we remember people talk about like music
was better in the eighties or seventies or whatever. It's like, no, no, no, no,
it's the same amount of music. You just remember with
Rose to the Top, you know what I'm saying. It's
the same, the same amount of stuff. You just remember
what Roads to the Top. Like when Bryce Drew hit

(08:35):
that shot for Valparaiso, you.

Speaker 2 (08:37):
Know what, I couldn't tell you what happened in the
other game that was being played at the same time.
I couldn't tell you what happened to Valparis on the
next game. So I think it's just one of those
fun things.

Speaker 3 (08:47):
Quick, I want to ask you about this because it's
just more This is I think is indicative of the
times that we are in college basketball. But we saw
McNee State lose today and they wear the five twelve
upset in the first round. But Will Wade very vocally
was like I pulled the Magic Johnson at the end
of the tournament. I ain't gonna be here. I'm taking

(09:09):
the job at NC State. And the discourse was, as
you can imagine, so many different takes, but what was
yours watching him announce that he's taking the job at
a new school prior to even coaching his first tournament game.

Speaker 2 (09:26):
Yeah, man, I think that's I think that's really unprofessional.
I get it. It's a it's a step up, it's
a great job, it's a great it's a great promotion,
it's a great step in your career. I understand it.
I don't necessarily fault you for it. You can't keep
that under wraps like you in the school, Like you

(09:47):
need to announce that now, you know, Like I get it,
Like we're in a we're in an era of news now.
News now. Everything's breaking, nothing nothing secret, everything, everything leaks.
I understand that. I just think there's a certain level
of tact and because here's the thing, Like, I don't
know how many people thought McNee State was gonna do anything,
whether they were gonna upset in the first round or

(10:07):
make a deep run. Sure, I don't know about that.
But the second that team has a bad game, at
least someone's gonna go, oh yeah, that coaches out of there. Anyway,
what does he care? Like it does the players of
the service? And I know college basketball, college sports is
not supposed to like you know, we're not naive enough
to think like this is about the players anymore, but

(10:28):
on some level, like you as a coach should care
enough about your players to afford them that respect. I
just think it's a little unprofessional.

Speaker 3 (10:36):
It's a little disrespectful to me to your point of
its not being about the players, this is the last moment.
Like to me, this is like the last bastion of
amateur athletics. I know that there's guys out there that
got paid big money and all of that, but like
it's because we see schools like Drake who's about to
get sent home right now by Texas Tech. You see

(10:59):
the mcniche states in the Florida Gulf Coasts of years
Saint Peters of years past, where you really have the
David versus Goliath aspect of some of the things that
make sports great. Right Like when we'll talk about some
of these big upsets, you can name them over.

Speaker 2 (11:12):
The top of year, right exactly. CJ. Viccollum. Yeah, by
the way, we're stealing money for the New Orleans Pelicans
right now. That's neither here, noida. Come on, he puts
up good numbers in big losses.

Speaker 3 (11:23):
Man, I ain't never seen somebody his shot attempts and
points scored go down the list.

Speaker 2 (11:28):
It's equal every fifteen shots fifteen point, twenty shots, twenty point.
It's crazy. It's remarkable anyway.

Speaker 3 (11:35):
Not to get off of track here, but I think
that that's something that we see in this tournament that
we don't see at other places. We're not gonna see
it anywhere else. This is the last place that we
do see it televised at the high level. And I
still feel bad for the kids who spent four years
at Drake or Hell transferred from southern Illinois to eastern Illinois,
to western California to Drake in your four and knows

(11:58):
that this is the last time that I'm gonna be
able to play.

Speaker 2 (12:00):
Basketball where people care about it. Yeah, I get it,
like and I get it, like the there's the transfer portal,
now there's n Ion all this stuff and like it.
It's it's always been a business. It's always been more
of a business than we've known that that stuff was
below the service before and now it is in our
face now, right, I get all that, but you're right,
there is still a level of you get between the
lines on a on a March Madness court and it's

(12:23):
you know this this thirteen is about to be to
four and there's something about that that is just fun
and it and it speaks to this like almost Olympic level.
I mean maybe the Olympics is you know, at times
is the last part. It's part of the sports. Like
I get it, their cousin, but yeah, but it's like
but it's not much right, Like it's it's there's not

(12:45):
a whole lot of of ways in which that's possible.
It's not like we're getting to you know, the World
Series tournament and now it's like, hey, those Oakland A's
might get it like going around like no, we know
that they're gonna be terrible, and they're like moving to Vegas.

Speaker 3 (12:56):
And charl Yeah, I'm gonna stink, and probably after that
they'll probably think.

Speaker 2 (13:04):
Again, like this year, no one's going like, hey, I
bet the Hawks can get through that playing tournament and challenge. No,
we know they're gonna be on the first round, Like
this is it? Yeah, like I think it. I don't know, man,
I think you do. Have to just respect you, like
the concept of team a little bit more than just
outwardly saying this is my next job. Hope this is

(13:26):
a deep playoff run or a deep tournament run for
us coming up next.

Speaker 3 (13:30):

And I'll say, look, I did predict in my bracket
that Arkansas would advance to the Sweet sixteen. Apparently that
was a radical take by the three or four people
that I've talked to about this.

Speaker 2 (15:01):
Yeah, I do know this.

Speaker 3 (15:02):
Jeff Schwartz and Bill Krackerberger and Brian Now, the guy
who runs the guy who runs this bet MGM show. Yeah,
they have watched college basketball all year. They have been
betting on it all year. So it's you know, take
my advice with the grainish salt. There's you know, I
might actually take that one to the window.

Speaker 2 (15:20):
That no offense to you. It does seem like they
maybe have a little bit more here, Yeah, they have
a little bit more here. Yeah. Now, sometimes you can
just go off of like I think this mascot would
beat this mascot in a fight, and you can you
you can do pretty well in a tournament setting. I
mean really, my thought was, like, do I really think Calipari.
I think I'm thinking in the first year after Kentucky,

(15:42):
wouldn't it be ironic if Calipari got to the sweet sixteen?
And that was kind of my thought process. Now I
typically think he's a fraudulent coach. Oh yeah, but it
does also make sense that like, all right, you put
him up against Patino, It's like, all right, well one
of these guys has to win. You can't both lose.

Speaker 3 (16:01):
I think he's a fraudulent I would say fraudulent coach.
I would say he's not a very good coach. But
I would say if you are a guard and you're
under six six sixty seven and Calipari recruits you, I
am interested to see what you do at the next
level for sure, because lines up some killers.

Speaker 2 (16:18):
Uh.

Speaker 3 (16:18):
Speaking of the next level, Shador Sanders and Travis Hunter
will be moving on to the next level of Colorado
and coach Prime they're still gonna play at college football season.
So just because Shador is moving on, Prime is still staying.
But Syracuse coach Prime tweeted this out a while ago,
talking about, you know, the the death of the spring game,
Matt Rules canceling a spring game and Nebraska other programs

(16:41):
canceling their spring games under the under the guys of saying, well,
we don't want our players to get poached, we don't
transfer portal windows. College footballs is the Wild West, so
on and so forth, blah blah blah. Well Deonce says,
you know what, I only don't want to play a
spring game. I'll play a spring game against somebody else.
He and Bran Brown, the head coaches cher, after a
little Twitter exchange or ex exchange what eeveryone call it

(17:03):
now are petitioning the NCAA to have a few joint
practices that will then culminate in a scrimmage.

Speaker 2 (17:10):
Zach, you may ask, where have we seen that before?

Speaker 3 (17:12):
Every single NFL team does it with someone else and
they have joint practices. Then two people get into a fight,
and then they have a preseason game like, oh, the
Giants of the Ravens got into a fight. Like it's August,
what's happening exactly? So what do you think about this
at the college level?

Speaker 2 (17:26):
I love it. I absolutely love it. Like there's this
weird thing where everything has become like like handle with
kid gloves right like where you you know, we've essentially
eliminated competition from certain elements of sports. And I think
by injecting this, like if this becomes a trend, if
this is like, it gains momentum, if people look at this,

(17:48):
we're like, wow, coach Prime did this. Wow, Syracuse is
about this like that, and it's a hit and it
becomes relevant. This is the problem is like if it
becomes a thing on social media, other teams will follow.
It's not like is this a good idea for our
football program. It would be like is this a good
idea for social media? Sure it will. It will then
become a trend I just I'm all about injecting competitive

(18:10):
fire and competition, and we see this in so many
things with like this All Star Game is this, and
this All Star Game is that, and these are exhibitions
and no one really cares and no one really tries. Look, obviously,
this is an exhibition. But if you get some kind
of competitive fire in there, and it adds to the
competition of sports, and it adds to the fun of sports,
I'm here for it.

Speaker 3 (18:26):
Well also too, because you are may not be competing
to beat the team you're playing in this Spring game,
but you are trying to Like, Okay, let's say you
are the third receiver on Colorado. You know you got
Travis Hunter. He's got one spot. Everything else is up
for crat I'm trying to get I'm trying to do
some work. Yeah, I can do it in the spring game.
The thing also that I really appreciate about this is

(18:50):
there has been two different angles about the NIL conversation
transportal conversation, and Matt Rule exhibits one of it, which
is I'm trying to retain my players. Dione Sanders to me,
exhibits the other. The way I would go about it
was it's not I don't care if my players get taken.

(19:14):
I'm going to create an environment. And now everybody at
Year one was like, oh, this is a rough way
to go about this. Yeah, but look at it now,
I'm creating an environment where my guys want to stay.

Speaker 2 (19:25):
And that's something that I think is in pro sports.

Speaker 3 (19:28):
You don't blink twice about it when oh, uh.

Speaker 2 (19:33):
The idea that Yiannis would want out of Milwaukee. Nobody.

Speaker 3 (19:36):
Yiannis has not said anything as overt as past NBA
stars have said about wanting to leave their time Anthony
Davis with the that's all folks, James Harden with the
fat suit, right, but everybody still is like, well, you
know Janni's you know, he could leave Milwaukee.

Speaker 2 (19:49):
He could leave Milwaukee because it's like the smaller, you.

Speaker 3 (19:52):
Know, the small no mil He like the idea that
Milwaukee could build an environment that Giannis would want to
stay in, the idea that Oklahoma City could build an
environment that Shay would want to stay in. The same
thing in the NFL. You could build an environment where
guys want to re up. You know, that's all it

(20:13):
is in college sports now. Yeah, if you build an
environment that guys want to stay, then you don't have
to worry about losing your best players to getting poached
to this guy or poached to that guy because they
want to play for you.

Speaker 2 (20:24):
What a crazy idea to have confidence? You don't I
hate in sports humility. I get that. Humility is the
nerdiest thing you can have in sports. It's the I
think it's the word that the idea act like you've
been there before. I think sucks. I think the idea
that like, hey, I'm going to create something like I'm
not worried you want to try to poach my players.

(20:45):
That's fine. I'm going to keep my players exactly, I'm
coach prompt. I'm setting up something that that matters. I'm
saiding like we like a bunch of us. I'll include
I'll include myself in this. I wasn't sure Colorado was
going to be anything last year, and they were pretty good.
They were way above what I thought. That were way
better than I thought. It's way better. And I think
like part of that is like, look, this guy knows
what he's doing, like he may not go about it

(21:05):
in the most conventional ways. Good convention sucks, like go
about it in a confident way, in a way that
Dion Sanders would And you're going to create an environment
where you are confident that you can keep your players.
And if you do, look what that does for the program.
It's clear that he had a plan.

Speaker 3 (21:21):
Yeah, And to me, even just the semblance of a plan,
I can get with that, because a lot of teams
have no point. They're a moving moment to moment day
today and trying to figure it out.

Speaker 2 (21:33):
They're surprised if they keep their players. You shouldn't be surprised.
You shouldn't be surprised.

Speaker 3 (21:37):
Like, you can create a program in which people want
to stay, People want to grow.

Speaker 2 (21:42):
Under you, they want to play for you, they.

Speaker 3 (21:44):
Want to come back to school for you, like And
don't tell me that it just has to be at
a school like Colorado, because in the transfer portal era,
Jim harbaught at Michigan just two years ago, kept eighteen seniors,
Yeah and won a national championship.

Speaker 2 (22:00):
Yeah. If you build it, they'll come, and if you
keep building it, they'll stay. Yeah.

Speaker 3 (22:04):
Absolutely, So let's kick it over now to Steve de Seger,
because we got a one seed in a tight battle
right now, fifteen minutes left and a half, though.

Speaker 5 (22:12):
Man, we got Auburn tied, we got Tennessee with the
Lake game, and we've got Michigan advancing. You know, it
was right twelve months ago that they hired this new coach,
five year contract for dust Team Ay Michigan Basketball. For
those unaware, last season had started six and five and
then won two games the entire rest of the season.

(22:32):
They finished eight and twenty four a year ago, and
now they're in the Sweet sixteen. According to statsinc, no
other team has lost that many games one season and
then made the Sweet sixteen the very next season since
the Sweet sixteen was officially invented in the nineteen seventy
five tournament. So impressive. Michigan eliminates Texas A and M

(22:54):
ninety one seventy nine. Michigan will advance to face the
winner of Creighton US number one Auburn, and currently that
game is tied with fourteen minutes to go. In fact,
Creyton is shooting over fifty percent, Auburn just over forty
percent from the floor. B YU at Wisconsin underway in
fifteen minutes. It'll be a one seed Houston against Gonzaga.

(23:16):
That game in Wichitak, Kansas, a late game tonight to
two seed Tennessee against UCLA at about nine to forty
five Eastern time. Purdue led by eighteen at the half
and put away twelve seed McNees seventy six to sixty two.
Texas Tech has eliminated Drake seventy seven to sixty four.
Drake finishes at season thirty one and four, and Arkansas

(23:38):
did beat two seed Saint John's seventy five to sixty six.
Saint John's well, they shot twenty eight percent from the
floor and the season is over. NIT tournament wins for
Chattanooga and Bradley. NBA Indiana beat Brooklyn one o eight
to one oh three. Currently Golden States in action and
trailing by ten mid third quarter at Atlanta, It's Hawks

(24:01):
seventy nine sixty nine. Steph Curry is out. He did
not start the road trip with the team due to
the fall on Thursday the pelvic contusion.

Speaker 6 (24:09):
He's not playing tonight.

Speaker 5 (24:10):
Therefore, the late game will have the Lakers hosting Chicago
in a couple hours. Nikola Jokic will miss another game
on Sunday with the bad ankle out for a fourth
straight game. The Cleveland Guardians gave Pitcher tanner byby a
five year extension or a minder nascars on FS one again.
The next four Sundays, IndyCar returns to Fox TV, And
you were mentioning as the women's tournament is giving underway

(24:32):
college hoops, there was the USC home game where the
top seeded women of Troy won seventy one twenty five
today against UNC Greensboro. The losing side was seven of
fifty four shooting from the floor, seven baskets and twenty
three turnovers in this game, only to be topped by
the Duke game last night, which was a final of

(24:54):
eighty six to twenty five over Lehigh in a first
round game at Duke, the losing side shooting about twenty percent.
Last night. Lehigh finished with nine field goals made and
thirty turnovers in a forty minute game.

Speaker 3 (25:08):
Back to you, you know, did you mention the you
was it?

Speaker 2 (25:12):
A Yukon scored today? Yeah, one three to thirty four.

Speaker 6 (25:16):
Against Arkansas State.

Speaker 2 (25:18):
The good news for UNC Greensboro they outscored Juju Watkins
twenty five to twenty two.

Speaker 6 (25:25):
So they didn't do a Dallas Mavericks.

Speaker 5 (25:27):
Yeah, we got outscored by Kobe one game.

Speaker 2 (25:31):
The bad news is there were other players.

Speaker 3 (25:33):
Yeah, and Juju didn't play like what the last eight
or nine?

Speaker 2 (25:37):
Right? Yeah.

Speaker 5 (25:37):
Second, I had a conversation at lunched literally today about
this type of thing with somebody when we saw the
Yukon score. Similarly with women's soccer, and they're expanding their
World Cup, and I get it, grow the game, but
you expand to thirty two teams, for example, there aren't
thirty two good teams, so you're gonna have as once
happened US eleven to one over Thailand or whoever you're

(26:00):
letting in. Congratulations. I'm sure it'll develop the sport. But
it's the same thing with the women's tournament. They're expanding
at the same rate as the men. And I think
you and I would agree that throughout the men's season,
we look at the top twenty five and say there
aren't twenty five good teams. Sure, and that's out of
three hundred and fifty.

Speaker 3 (26:19):
Hell, I watched Michigan be ranked for most of the
season and I was like this.

Speaker 5 (26:24):
UCLA kept getting ranked and I'm saying, I'm watching the games.

Speaker 6 (26:27):
Are you not watching the games?

Speaker 2 (26:30):
Like wit? I was only watching Michigan all years, I
was like, I don't know what the rest of the
league looks like. I guess the SEC just should have
all every single team ranked.

Speaker 3 (26:38):
But so, speaking of March Madness, as we watch Auburn
and Creighton right now, Auburn with the three point lead,
thirteen minutes left in the game, the more things change act,
the more they state the same. Because of the eight
top seeds in this tournament, one in two seeds, you
had five of them led by men sixty five or older.

(27:02):
One of those, Saint John's was led by seventy two
year old Rick Patino. He's now going home. He gets
bounced today by John Calipari, another guy who has been
everywhere in college basketball. And I think honestly falls to
one of my theories. I think the naming of things
matters so much, the naming of people as well. If

(27:24):
the round of thirty two had a cool name like
the terrific thirty two, I wonder if John caler Parti's
the time at Kentucky would have been viewed as much
of a disaster as I was right because we look
at making the sweet sixteen, that's cool, elide eight way
to go Final four A alliteration wins in America, right, true,
if these had like the terrific thirty two, would everybody

(27:44):
look at it like, oh, you know.

Speaker 2 (27:46):
No, you lost in the second round. It's nasty, yeah,
because well, that's the thing is, you're not a winner.
You went one and one. It's not a winner.

Speaker 3 (27:54):
So I loved a lot about this game, especially the
true college basketball lea in aspect of Rick Patino and
his team shooting whatever concert date Steve said from the
floor it was like three for a billion yea. And
Luis Junior, the guy who's leading Saint John's all year
three for seventeen, completely out of it, ends up on

(28:14):
the bench in the last moments of the game. Quit
the central college basketball stuff. Lebron James could go one
for thirty eight.

Speaker 2 (28:22):
Guess who's gonna be on the court gets thirty seconds
left in the fourth quarter, Lebron James.

Speaker 3 (28:27):
But I really enjoyed this as a kind of a
throwback game because we watched these games.

Speaker 2 (28:32):
This is the reality of college basketball in my opinions
act and.

Speaker 3 (28:35):
It's reality college sports. We're not watching this because this
is the best basketball we could see.

Speaker 2 (28:39):
Right.

Speaker 3 (28:40):
If you want to do that, flip over to TN
t on Tuesdays and Thursdays a Sunday afternoon. Right, That's
so that's when the best basketball to watch is. We're
watching this for the personalities, for the stories, for maybe
some people, maybe for the student managers, but to watch John.

Speaker 2 (28:56):
Don't don't try. Don't try to slide that in here,
all right. It's it's something I am not a fan of.

Speaker 3 (29:01):
To watch California and Potino two big, big personalities in
this round.

Speaker 2 (29:06):
It made me harken back to some of those old
days we were talking about earlier. Absolutely, you know what
I hated about this. I hated Potino's decision to sit
that kid. Yeah, this is your leading score, something that
I don't think people understand and look like for a
regular person, I used to be a really good basketball player, right,
like not like oh yeah, but like I used to

(29:27):
like shooting all this stuff for the civilians, for a civilian,
like I could play with anybody, right, and and so
what I hate and so like I always thinking in
terms of like my confidence, my ability, right, and then
I'm like, what if I was like Steph Curry good? Right,
Like what if I was like that, like someone who's
like legitimately great and What I hate is someone's like, well,
he's three for seventeen, why does he keep shooting? The reason?

(29:52):
The reason is because none of that should matter, all
the previous stuff, like you're your folcus. If you are
any kind of like basketball player, your focus should be
I'm going to hit the next one. It should never be, oh,
I'm three for seventeen, I shouldn't shoot. I should move
like No, that's that's cowardly. And I think Rick Patino
did the kid of disservice. I'd say, he's your leading scorer,

(30:12):
he's your best player, he's your leading scorer. And you're like, oh,
you've had a bad game for me, get out of here.
You're you're on the bench arrest of the game. I think, like,
I just think that's cowardly.

Speaker 3 (30:20):
The only way I'd say I don't agree with you
is if Beatino's looking at his eyes in the huddle, yeah,
and he sees somebody who's.

Speaker 2 (30:27):
Defeated, and then even in that moment, shouldn't you be
coaching him?

Speaker 3 (30:31):
That's what I was saying, Like he Benson with four fifty, sis,
you know that there's enough time grab him by his jersey,
hey son.

Speaker 2 (30:40):
However, this ends you're gonna go out with your chin up. Yeah,
you know. And if you go three for twenty, he
went three for twenty, you go through for twenty five.
To go through to twenty five, you gotta shoot. But
by the way, you might go like eight for twenty five,
like you might. You might come out there and be
a hero. You might. You might hit the shot. Yeah,
that go Like I could tell you.

Speaker 3 (30:57):
I couldn't tell you what Christian Latner shot from the
in that game, but when he had to turn around
from the free throw line, I don't know what it.

Speaker 2 (31:04):
Maybe he was eleven for eleven and that was a
twelve shot. I don't know.

Speaker 3 (31:06):
He could have been over twelve, but it didn't matter
because he made that one. So I agree with you
on that one. That's the only way I'd say is
like maybe. And again this is just pure Devil's advocate,
because we haven't heard any of the post game game
edit an hour ago and we've been on the radio
the whole time since May. If he was only if
he's protecting them from himself, right, If that's the level
of like this kid's gonna start crying on the court,

(31:28):
This kid's gonna you know what, I'm saying, this kid's
gonna break down in a way that like this is
one of the biggest moments of his life and he's
not delivering, Like you're not being able to. You don't
really get a second chance at that, you know what
I'm saying. For sure, maybe he's melting down in a
way that we're not privy to because he's there.

Speaker 2 (31:44):
But to your.

Speaker 3 (31:45):
Point, I think at some point, with five minutes left
your bench and maybe at two thirty, hey you want
to give your leading score another look?

Speaker 2 (31:51):
Yeah, I wouldn't. Hey man, we need you. We could
really use you. You're a leading scorer. You see that
two seed, that number two next to our name. The
reason we have that. I'll say this to Zach.

Speaker 3 (32:02):
One of the things that I really loved about watching
this game, it was a throwback to five years ago.

Speaker 2 (32:06):
Both coaches had on suit.

Speaker 3 (32:08):
This I do all right, do you tell me you
didn't see Calipari just say, oh, Cali Pari got that
that hound's tooth chuckerboard jacket. Oh, he said, Calipari got
that thing on today. He is ready, He's ready.

Speaker 2 (32:21):
And honestly thought about when Patino just had the black
I was like, oh, that didn't do it for you? Well, no, no,
no, no no. I thought he looked great.

Speaker 3 (32:30):
But I said, you know, you see Patino come out
with the white before and the red before, and I'm wondering,
I'm like, if he had, if he felt better about
his chances, well he has spent a little more time
in the.

Speaker 2 (32:40):
Class, like you want to see Rick Patino saying you
know what I like? I like our chances. I'm gonna
I'm gonad dress like Colonel Sanders. Yeah, Colonel Sanders like
I In.

Speaker 3 (32:49):
My head, I envisioned that the coach who does that
is envisioning his post game win. How am I gonna
look when people are asking me questions? I hate I
cannot stand that we're talking about college basketball coaches, some
of the highest paid individuals in your state. If the
college basketball coach are your most popular university and he's

(33:10):
dressed like the pe teacher, it.

Speaker 2 (33:12):
Tried to be nuts. It look I as someone who
is a very lazy dresser. Like all I ever care
about is what my shoes are, right Like, I will
wear the most basic stuff and I'm just like, as
long as the shoes hit, that's all I care about.
I understand it. At the same time, I'm not paid
millions of dollars coach basketball. You know what, I think,
I think you should show out a little bit if it.

(33:35):
If that's the thing they pay me X amount of
dollars to come on the radio.

Speaker 3 (33:39):
If I was on TV, you know what, I wouldn't
be wearing what I have on right now because I'm
on the radio right If I was making millions of dollars,
I would at least have more expensive sweats on. Coming
up next, a guy who never played in this tournament
right skipped threat to the NBA and apparently do a

(34:00):
lot of people skip the line? Had people just backtracking
like Michael Jackson during a concert, moon walking on their takes.

Speaker 2 (34:08):
We'll get into that coming up in just a moment.

Speaker 3 (34:09):
Martin Wis's Zach Harper Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 1 (34:13):
Don't listening to Fox Sports Radio Radio comes.

Speaker 2 (34:16):
To you a lot from the tire rack dot Com studios.

Speaker 3 (34:19):
Martin Weiss, Zach Harper. I'm at Martin Weiss, Zach is
at Talk Hoops. So, Zach, you know what is a.

Speaker 2 (34:28):
Few months was it about nine months ago? Eight months ago?

Speaker 3 (34:31):
All you could hear was how in the world could
you waste the fifty fifth pick in the NBA draft.

Speaker 2 (34:38):
How could you just throw.

Speaker 3 (34:39):
It away that the other guy, that guy had a family,
somebody you know you's gonna you just took away the.

Speaker 2 (34:45):
Chances of somebody.

Speaker 3 (34:47):
You know that Brianie James was drafted and you know,
by the Los Angeles Lakers in the second round. It
was just a travesty heard around the world. And we've
had people that have had takes and all of the nextion.
The last time that you and I did a show
together two weeks ago, we had a conversation about Bronnie.

Speaker 2 (35:02):
Because it was all Euste.

Speaker 3 (35:06):
In the latest installment, Brownie had seventeen points and all
of a sudden, everybody just knew that he was going
to be an All Star one day?

Speaker 2 (35:14):
Did you just see this coming?

Speaker 3 (35:16):
And this, just to me is another form of like
sometime guys, like every single game is not a news point,
every single game is not a story in that like,
this is Briannie's best game for his career. Absolutely, guess
what if it remains to be the best game of
his career, nobody will remember it.

Speaker 2 (35:34):
Look, I don't and I'm not saying this is his fault.
It's not no, no, no, what I'm about saying this is
not his fault, like, this isn't the reason. And also
this like is a not a great measurement just by itself.
Lakers were minus thirty six in the minutes he was
on the floor, right, so he had seventeen points in
five assists. He also had four terms. But whatever, like

(35:56):
shot seven to ten, two for four, Like he struggled
shooting the ball, like these are good, these are this
is good a good showcase for them in a game
in which like the Lakers didn't have like their stars
and like they got hammered, right, and so this is
a throwaway game. He had some You know, there are
a lot of people in it, especially like especially guys
who have played in the league. They're like, they don't
like the term garbage minutes. I don't like they don't

(36:18):
like to play the term garbage because these are the
opportunities for players like Bronnie to get on the court
show what they can do, earn a little trust, show
JJ reddick. Hey, I'll knock down that shot. Hey, I'll
make that extra pass, I'll do I'll take this defensive rotation,
I'll make that steal.

Speaker 3 (36:32):
And in those minutes, maybe somebody turns an ankle, somebody
has a store a hamstring.

Speaker 2 (36:36):
Now all of a sudden you get the opportunity and
and and further your career in some way. And so
I like, I don't want to take but everyone's like,
and I think this for me, this is the the
Bleacher Report, the house of highlights of it all, in
which we are going to suck up to every player
who's got a name in the hopes that they like
it and post it on their story. And so that's

(36:58):
where I'm like, we don't have to low up every
player because they tied the shoes right right.

Speaker 3 (37:04):
And I get the idea that Lebron James Junior doing
something inherently is newsworth for sure. But when you come
across and you have all of these scorching hot takes
of Lebron, you're a bad dad and all like, when
you if you.

Speaker 2 (37:22):
Have to go that far, this is how you end
up having it.

Speaker 3 (37:25):
You know, acknowledge the fact that somebody scored seventeen points
in an NBA game, right, right, because that is not
like that in and of itself is not newsworthy, right
If a guy scores seventeen in a game, Garrett Temple
has played in the NBA for like twenty five years.

Speaker 2 (37:41):
How many times you think he scored seventeen in the league? Right?
A lot? A lot? You know, how many times they mattered?

Speaker 3 (37:48):
Like in the grand scheme of the history of the NBA,
probably very few.

Speaker 2 (37:52):
No one cared that Alex lenn had ten in that game,
no way, right, exactly as a former top five pick
right there, right.

Speaker 3 (37:59):
And it goes to show he's like maybe just maybe,
you know, we we force a lot of narratives.

Speaker 2 (38:04):
Yeah, this is one that like you could have just waited.
You know, an another former or another NBA player's son
played in that game, score twenty three off the bench,
Gary Trent junior of some of the shack of the
mac Gary Trent. Right, we're not celebrating that, Like how
you specified Gary Trent. I figured that would have been
too Gary Trent's junior dad was.

Speaker 3 (38:26):
But you never know, you know, Shaquille O'Neil, that would
have been a show my kid, Shaquille k neil junior,
Like like, who's gonna stop me?

Speaker 7 (38:34):
That's a good point.

Speaker 2 (38:35):
But no, it's something that we see it happen all
the time.

Speaker 3 (38:38):
It's just like I get it like it's it's scorching
hot and it's cool and Brownie's.

Speaker 2 (38:43):
Like we won't even got in high school. Ah, but
it ends up looking silly to me. You can't. Like,
here's the thing. You can't. I don't care who your
dad is. You can't step on the court in an
NBA game and not be good. Sure like you can't, Like,
you just can't. There is a limit to this. Now.
I don't know if that means you can have a ten, twelve,
fifteen year career, but you, like, you have to have

(39:07):
a level of competition, a level of skill, and a
level of athleticism in order to.

Speaker 3 (39:12):
Do this, Like we Cam Reddish, I don't did he
actually get waived by the Lakers today or is he?

Speaker 2 (39:17):
I saw len Yeah, I think it's about to happen.

Speaker 3 (39:22):
It's somewhere in the process where Cam Reddish is about
to be a free agent. If you ask people from
his draft class to what tea, they will tell you
that Cam Reddis was that guy.

Speaker 2 (39:33):
And mind you, they only spent a year in.

Speaker 3 (39:35):
College, right, you know what I'm saying, Like they went
on out of that class.

Speaker 2 (39:39):
They said Cam was him going into that class. It
was hey, Not only do they have Zion and RJ,
they got Cam Reddish. He's as good as those two,
exactly right. You see Zion with his career.

Speaker 3 (39:49):
RJ Barrett, you know, ironically enough, the most reliable pro
out of them all right. Who that just goes to
show you is these things are hard to predict, much
like this tournament coming up next. Though, this team missed
a very important event to go on a very important date.

Speaker 2 (40:05):
Was it worth it? We'll get to a next don't listening.

Speaker 1 (40:09):
To Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 3 (40:11):
That's right, and we're broadcasting live from the tire rack
dot com studios tire iraq dot com. Well help you
get there with an unmaxed election, fast free shipping. Freiroid
has a protection and over ten thousand recommended this dollars
tire iraq dot com. This is the way that tire
buying should be. Zach Harper here, I'm Martin Wise.

Speaker 2 (40:30):
Zach.

Speaker 3 (40:30):
Let me ask you this. You may have just as
much insight as I do on these things. But as
a Michigan fan, the team that we'll be playing next
will be the winner of this Creighton and Auburn game.

Speaker 2 (40:42):
Now, going into this, I would have thought I'd rather
see Creighton beat Auburn because Creighton's probably not as good
of a team as Alburn. I've seen Auburn now have
a few injuries.

Speaker 3 (40:52):
Baker Mazara went back to the locker room, and guys
have just been the walking wounded. As a Michigan fan
who desperately wants to see my team team advanced at
least further than Michigan State. Sure, and then I can
go call the season to win. Which who should I
be rooting for? Over just next four minutes.

Speaker 2 (41:08):
At the at the risk of sounding stupid, I think
you won, Auburn. You know, I'm not impressed.

Speaker 3 (41:15):
We might both sound stupid here, So it's okay, we
can you know, we can hold hands to take this
walk together. Because I'm saying there, why that's what's fawed
me to ask the questions like, ah, Auburn does not
look that's impressive.

Speaker 2 (41:25):
To me, even though they have had a fourteen point leader.

Speaker 3 (41:26):
Sure wins in this, but I've watched maybe their last
six games. Yeah, which I understand that if you that's
like saying, you know, that's like the three bat songs
on the album. Sure, but but I still like those are.

Speaker 2 (41:40):
The ones I heard. But those are the ones you
heard right exactly. Like, look, they they beat Alabama State
by twenty, It didn't feel like a twenty point win. Yeah,
Like they were kind of lucky to be up ten
at the half, like that was that was an even game.
And then they just they went on this little mini
run right right before the halftime and then they you know,
they outplayed them the second half enough to win by twenty,
but it didn't feel like twenty in this game so far.

(42:03):
Like I'm watching and like it just they don't play
like a one seed yet.

Speaker 3 (42:08):
They're all I feel like when I'm thinking of a
typical I'm saying it shouldn't. I shouldn't say a typical
one seed, but like the like powerhouses, right, like the
guy like you looking at him like obviously I can't
remember there one seed right now or not, but like
Zion RJ. Barrett and Cam Rent, Like I'm looking at
three dudes, two or three dudes when the draft is

(42:30):
up there, Adam Silver's calling in their name before we
get the double digits, right, That's what I'm thinking of
it Just for one seed Auburn, I doesn't feel like
they have that duke they got that Duke's and a
half three two or three guys before Adam Silver.

Speaker 2 (42:43):
Pronounced with the fifteenth pick, all three of them gonna
be Duke. Duke's got three guys that might be in
the top ten.

Speaker 3 (42:48):
Right, So yeah, by by by pick twelve to thirteen,
John Shire is gonna go home, right.

Speaker 2 (42:54):
I don't want to stay here much longer after that.

Speaker 3 (42:57):
And so I think that's what it is to me
when I watch the team and they don't seem to
be like you watch a team like Houston, for example,
they are so aggressive defensive vie that like, oh, okay,
this is what got them here. Yes, I can't tell
you what Auburn does great. That was like, this is
why they're here.

Speaker 2 (43:14):
This is the thing is like offensively they were ranked
as like I think, like top seven to ten in
the car or maybe even higher. They might have been
top five in the country. They don't play like a
team that is like a great offense, and so I like,
I'm watching them and I'm trying to figure out where
did these numbers come from? Right? And this may be
a weird comparison because I actually do think this team

(43:35):
is very good. But in the NBA world, the Houston
Rockets actually have good offensive numbers. Yes, they can't shoot
at all, but they have good offensive up because they
hammered offensive boards and get second chance points and get
the free throw line, all stuff that can even out
your offensi efficiency and everything. The Auburn Tigers are offensively
efficient in a very elite way. I watched them play basketball,

(43:56):
and I'm like, where where does that come from? Right,
don't understand it? And for some you know, Creton at
least like has this they you know, they've got this
big dude, Calk Brenner, like like he's a legit seven footer.
He's he'll be a you know, I think he'll probably
be a first round pick somewhere in the twenties there.

Speaker 3 (44:15):
Like like he he's very Alex Linn coated of you,
ohd on.

Speaker 2 (44:22):
Alex Linn was the top five pick.

Speaker 3 (44:23):
Man, tell me you don't see Alex len no disrespect
the Ryan Kulkbrenner having a pretty good game today.

Speaker 2 (44:30):
He was really good in college, alex any But like
I look at I look at him, and I'm like, Okay,
Like Michigan's got the they got the personnel to handle
that guy. Yeah, right, Like I like the rest of
these dudes, though, they start getting loose, I don't know,
like the speed of the speed of everybody else. I

(44:51):
think that's where Michigan might might get a little in trouble,
right like everyone else, the wings and everything. Like, I
think that's that's what when you've got such a big team,
I get the idea like, oh, we'll just be bigger
and strong than everybody. Yeah, until it like becomes the
track man. Yeah yeah, until we're running and shooting everywhere.

Speaker 3 (45:08):
So let's transition now to the NFL, because there was
a very important event that the Pittsburgh Steelers decided to
miss to meet with Aaron Rodgers the University of Michigan's
pro day. And now I say that with justin but no, seriously,
though generally you would think you have thirty two representatives
from all thirty.

Speaker 2 (45:26):
Two teams out of school like Michigan's prodec.

Speaker 3 (45:29):
But the bigger story that Aaron Rodgers sat met with
the Steelers. No deal was signed, but according to the reports,
I just had it here. He was there to basically
meet the coaches and that like there's no like the
money's been agreed upon and all of that stuff, Like
he's there to like meet the coaches, get to know
each other. Yeah, spend time with Arthur Smith, whose background

(45:54):
includes successful partnerships with Ryan.

Speaker 2 (45:56):
Tannehill and Justin Fields.

Speaker 3 (45:58):
I think the writer of this article took a little
uh liberty, liberty Justin Field's partnership and how much success
that happened Arthur Smith four and too, I suppose. But uh,
Aaron Rodgers, I just wish for my sake, honestly, selfishly,
then he would just do it already, like there's nowhere

(46:22):
else that makes sense.

Speaker 2 (46:23):
It's Pittsburgh or bust. You don't you don't buy Minnesota.
I didn't.

Speaker 3 (46:27):
I never bought Minnesota out because, like I mean, you're
involved in the journalism world, you know this just as
well as I do. People get their information from different places,
for sure, the people, and I'm not disparaging anybody for
what they reported at the times they reported it. But generally,
from my understanding of all this, all this works, the
reporting that was coming out about Minnesota, generally, those guys

(46:50):
get their information from the player side of things, the
agents side of things.

Speaker 2 (46:54):
None of them had anything to say about Minnesota, right.

Speaker 3 (46:56):
Right, So it always felt a little a little bit
like you know when I was in high school, I
also wanted to take the hottest girl to the prompt.
You know what I'm saying. I was in the list
as well, right like Aaron Rodgers. Of course he wanted
to go to Venizela. We need a quarterback. He's a quarterback.

Speaker 2 (47:13):
So I think that's what it was. I think, like,
whyn't you?

Speaker 3 (47:18):
And then the Steelers they know what they reported last
week they went out to dinner with Jalen Millrolle the
day with Ridge pro Day. I think that's all a
message like Aaron, you coming or not? So then all
of a sudden he flies in there. But I just
don't see what the what is the benefit outside of
just wanting attention and having your name in the headlines?

(47:38):
Do you get from just not signing with the Steelers?
Now there's nobody else that's about the pop up? You know,
door three is not opening?

Speaker 2 (47:47):
Are we? Are? We trying to find logic and the
stuff that Aaron Rodgers does these days? You know? Do
you make a great point? Also? Did I miss where
he became a good quarterback? Again? He is not a
I would say.

Speaker 3 (48:01):
I would say this, he is not at nearly as
good as he once was he's I'd say he's average
in the NFL at this point. But the problem is
is you could do so much worse than average in
the NFL. Is he definitely better than Russell Wilson last year?
I think so definitely. I think he's definitely better, But
I also think it's close. I wouldn't say that, like,

(48:25):
if Russell Wilson is a four, Aaron Rodgers would be
a six on the scale of from one to ten.
So I'm not saying that it's like neither one of
these guys are near anywhere near Like signing with the
Pittsburgh Steelers would ensure that they would be able to
do what they've always done, which is sort of compete
in the AFC, win a game or two they're not

(48:47):
supposed to, lose a gamer three they're not supposed to,
and then get your head kicked in the first round
of the players, right.

Speaker 2 (48:52):
I think that's the same result likely if you're sign
Russell Wilson, because we can't just get Tomlin a good
quarterback again. So when I say I think he's a
little better, it's not like either one of these moves
y is changing the fortunes of the Pittsburgh Steelers to
someplace that haven't been yet. I guess I just look
at it as like, all right to me, they're they're
the same caliber of at this point, right, one is

(49:14):
going to be one of the corniest people who ever exist,
who's going to get you slammed on social media. The
other one is going to like go on the Pat
McAfee show every week and say something that's going to
get you in the headlines for the wrong reasons, and
so like what is like what would you rather have?
Like I would rather have fewer distractions, which shockingly is
Russell Wilson. Shockingly like I just I don't. I man,

(49:39):
I was all for it, Like when he went to
the Jets two years ago, right before obviously before the
Achilles tear and everything. I was like, look, I think
Aaron Rodgers, like I think the personality is becoming a problem,
But this is Aaron Rodgers. This is a guy like
he didn't have a good year with Green Bay prior,
but this was like, this isn't MVP recently like the
year before, right like he like, this is a dude

(49:59):
who is an all timer. I'm sorry for that point,
he had won two of the last three and the Yeah,
like he was like that dude, but I think he
I like I I think he's just someone who isn't
the leader he used to be. I don't think he's
the player he used to be. And I think the
Achilles took that away to where you can't get that back,

(50:20):
the playing part of it, so he can still be
a solid quarterback. I don't think he can be a
good quarterback. And I just if I'm the Steelers, I
don't know why you keep throwing out these like just
all right, this guy kind of stinks but he's but
he can be. Okay, just go get it. Like I
know it's not that simple, but like, go find your quarterback.

Speaker 3 (50:38):
So would you if you're a Pittsburgh would you try
to draft up to two or trade up to two
rather in this draft than go get a guy?

Speaker 2 (50:47):
Yeah, I think it's worth it. Like you've tried, You've
tried all these things, right, Like can you Pickkett was
gonna be your guy? That obviously was? You brought in
justin Fields and I guess I guess the partnership or.

Speaker 3 (51:00):
According to Buddy Boy at CBS dot com, Yeah, I
don't want to put them all the way out there. Yeah,
but according to forget it, according to Brian Deardo Sure
at CBS dot com, you know, successful.

Speaker 2 (51:11):
For it too, Yeah, all right for it. I mean, look,
you'll take four and two in six games, right, Like,
that's fine. But I look at it like Tomlin's a
great coach, a historically great coach. He will put you
in a position to win. Go get your guy.

Speaker 3 (51:26):
It's almost it's not equivalent to Tibbs, but like Tims
is a really really good coach as well, I think,
and I think Tomlin's probably if you rank them, tip
Tomlin probably better than TIB's overall. Yeah, but I bring
them up in comparison because it's evident that they both
have a style that they think is the best way
to win football games, or win win games, I should say.

(51:47):
And again I'm big into guys who have plans. Yeah, Okay,
if you have a plan that can win seventy percent
of the games, I think we should do it, right.

Speaker 2 (51:53):
Right, I think we should do it. I think we
should implement that plan. Yeah.

Speaker 3 (51:57):
Now it's better to try to tweak that plan or
tweak the roster around to get a Derrick Rose, to
get a guy like Jalen Brunton to get an engine
that could run Tims' style of play, similarly to getting
a quarterback that can kind of mask some of Mike
Tomlin's deficiencies. On the other side, it ain't getting no
better in hiring a new head coach, Like he's gonna

(52:21):
be very like you. You move on from Tomlin to
find a guy who can do what Tomlin is doing. Right,
So you know that to me, that's moving backwards. But
I would say I think it's the only way, and
maybe this is me sports commentator kind of romanticizing this.

Speaker 2 (52:40):
Going to Pittsburgh.

Speaker 3 (52:43):
Seems to be the only way it's feasible in the
next year to two years for both of their quote
unquote legacies to trying to change Rogers hasn't Rogers hasn't
played a meaningful playoff game, it's been a ball, it's
been a while. Tomlin hasn't won a playoff game.

Speaker 2 (53:03):
Then even longer.

Speaker 3 (53:05):
If you can come in and have Aaron Rodgers come
and even compete in a playoff game, look good in
a playoff game, Because think about it, like I know.

Speaker 2 (53:12):
That nobody gets to pick how they retire. Sure, but
if Aaron Rodgers last game was a meaningless Week eighteen
thing against the Jets versus like that just feels wrong
for sure, for sure, but like also like he's forty one.
Sure he's not Tom Brady right, like he was great,
but he blew out his achilles two years ago, Like

(53:34):
that matters, and I just I think it like I
think your assessment I was gonna say criticism. I think
your assessment of Tomlin is valid. I think it's pretty
much all the way true. At the same time, for
the last like decade plus, it was a fat Ben
Roethlisberger who moved like a building and then like a

(53:54):
bunch of crappy quarterbacks. So I think bringing in a
so so quarterback isn't the Like I think if you
gave him his plan with a good quarterback and again
not that easy to do, I think we would have
different results in the playoffs.

Speaker 3 (54:09):
Yeah, you know, just for rooting for Chaos, I'd love
to see them sign Rogers and then draft Jackson Dart
a twenty one.

Speaker 2 (54:18):
You know, why not turn them into the new Kirk Cousins.
We gotta have something to talk about there in football season,
you know, why not? Why not?

Speaker 3 (54:25):
Coming up next this March Madness says, Uh, maybe it
with the therapy. It's been March very calm. We'll dive
into potentially why we have not seen some of the
buzzer beaters, some of the upsets that have made the
tournament famous. We'll dive into that coming up next, Martin

Speaker 3 (55:41):
I might be able to rent a house, okay for
seven hundred less than I'm paying in rent right now.
And I just was reading this and I was like,
you know what Track supplies.

Speaker 2 (55:54):
I may not got a few acres, but I got
to I got a quarter of an acre that might
need somethin. Hey. It said, whether you're caring for pets,
chickens or a few acres, we've got options here. Yes,
I just need part of an acre. Yes, a very
small part of a little bit of a lawn, and
that's all you need. You know, I could.

Speaker 3 (56:14):
Probably mold with the weed whacker, but it's nonetheless.

Speaker 2 (56:17):
I could go to Track to flag get it done.
So arsbad is used.

Speaker 3 (56:21):
Auburn just beat Creighton double digit margin. We haven't had
a lot of close uh finishes. In his first game
of the tournament, the first four was a close finish
between Alabama State and Saint Francis.

Speaker 2 (56:35):
Yes, I believe that was a fun one.

Speaker 3 (56:37):
But outside of that, we haven't had much in the
in the name of buzzer beaters in this tournament.

Speaker 2 (56:42):
And a lot of people are making the argument that
is due to the changing state of college football.

Speaker 3 (56:48):
You know now that players are getting the nil packages
and you could just up and transfer whenever you want to.
That's why Zach Harper, according to the Internet that we
don't see the upside we used.

Speaker 2 (57:00):
To see your take that look. I say this respectful.
I don't know who has said this, so hopefully no
colleagues of mine, no colleagues of yours, have said this.
That's one of the dumbest ideas I've ever heard, one
of the dumbest theories. Like, what does that even mean?
We have had free agency in the NBA forever decades.

(57:26):
We have buzzer beaters there, we got last second shots there.
How long? How many times has Lebron left a team?
Kyrie Ving hit a game seven clutch shot.

Speaker 3 (57:36):
I remember Chris Christmas Day, what twenty eleventh Kyrie had
turned around over in Golden State over Clayton's.

Speaker 2 (57:43):
Twenty sixteen There you go, Yeah, there you go. I
was way off. I remember it though, twenty eleven, he
was at Duke.

Speaker 3 (57:50):
Oh yeah, no, I remember him that being beating a
nine seed Michigan and his thirteen the college game and thinking.

Speaker 2 (58:02):
You know what, this Kyrie kid, he's gonna be a problem.
You know what I got wrong? I knew I thought
was gonna be really good. But I was like, he's no.
John Wall got that one wrong, man, got that one real.
I was arguing with the friend. I was like, you
tell you, tell me Kyrie's gonna better john Wall. You
haven't been watching.

Speaker 3 (58:16):
And to the point, John Wall was a dog, and
especially in this tournament, and that the Marcus Becausins team.
So to me that the nil thing is a transfer
portal things.

Speaker 2 (58:27):
It's just an adjustment, it's just a chain. But why
would that affect the product on the floor in terms
of it being a close game, Because I guess what
they say is that if you go crazy at.

Speaker 3 (58:39):
Or roberts for a year, then you'll transfer to Texas
like that kid Max Absmist did, or a Smith right
and when Nuts in the tournament, and then or another
one that Kevin Something that went to when Nuts in
the tournament for ORL Robertson, he transferred to Texas Tech
the next year. But like, I guess that's what they're saying,
is like the guys will transfer out from these smaller schools.

Speaker 2 (59:00):
But then I think the point remains, Oh, Roberts.

Speaker 3 (59:03):
Still existed, right, right, right, like Saint Peter's existed.

Speaker 2 (59:07):
We just watched McNee State beat Clemson. But then why
did Why did Creighton lose by twelve because someone transferred
and got some money, right if no one transferred, they
would have lost by by one at the buzzer, Like
that doesn't make any sense. That doesn't make any sense
to me. Just last year we saw.

Speaker 3 (59:26):
NC State in the sweet sixteen and eleven seed. We
had Princeton the fifteen seed, reach a final four. In
the last three years.

Speaker 2 (59:36):
Also, I'm I'm sorry sweet sixteen in the last three years, right,
Like fourteen seeded tenth or wors have reached the Sweet
sixteen in twenty twenty two and twenty twenty one. Also,
it's not about whether an upset happens. We're like, we're
talking about like are these games going down to the wire,
which they are not, and that has nothing to do
with nil And even the upsets that has nothing to

(59:57):
do with nil. Sometimes Goliath just beats David. Why because
he's Goliath. That's why. Like that doesn't make any sense
to me. I don't understand. To me, this is Oh,
I don't really like this nil thing. How can I
poke a hole in it? Well, the tournament's kind of
been kind of mild so far. I get like, must

(01:00:18):
be an nil thing. It's not going away.

Speaker 3 (01:00:21):
That and seeing guys like like players cry when this
is all over and they're like, oh, well you.

Speaker 2 (01:00:28):
Know he got paid. Well, they're crying because all that
paperwork to transfer. Is that a lot of filling out paperwork? Man,
you ever tried to docu signed? Sometimes I think doesn't click.

Speaker 3 (01:00:37):
I do think that that there is a level of
even if it's just your team for this year. Yeah, like,
there's a lot of you were with them all year,
you care, You're a competitor, Like, that's the thing. These
aren't robots like people care. People care about the job
they do, even if they end up leaving that job. Yeah,
So I don't I don't see much of the To me,
it's a little bit overblown.

Speaker 2 (01:00:57):
I think it's to your point.

Speaker 3 (01:00:59):
We've seen a lot of the iconic faces of college
sports step down and there's a bit of a void.
And who is the you know, because right now it's
college football too, Like the winning is not commensurate with
the level of attention that some coaches get, right, Like
Deon Sanders is covered like he's Nick Saban right in

(01:01:21):
part because Nick Saban is not there anymore. Right, And
now Kirby Smart and those guys they don't have the
they're necessarily the now Kirby no hell of a coach,
but they doesn't have the the bona fide he doesn't, right, Dion.
So if we see the same thing in college basketball,
where like sure coach k has gone some of the
other guys who have won a ton of but like

(01:01:42):
I said, still what five of the top eight seeds
coach by guys sixty five years or older? Like, it's
still a lot of the guys who have always have
continued to be there, continuing to have success. And so
if you, I mean, Patino said it, you either adapter
you die, right, so adapted.

Speaker 2 (01:02:00):
Die, Like is this is silly to me?

Speaker 3 (01:02:02):
It's like he's telling me, Oh, they invented a three
point line, so now I'm just gonna stop playing basketball
because they changed the rule.

Speaker 2 (01:02:09):
Yeah, it's dumb, like you know what happened when the
three point line came out and the people start embracing it,
is that, oh yo, what this will help us do?
Get to the basket. Sure it doesn't eliminate that, like
you just you adjust, you and you advance or you
were you lose.

Speaker 3 (01:02:23):
Let's kick it over to Steve de Sager, who, as
far as I can tell, undefeated at updates.

Speaker 2 (01:02:28):
Steve, you're up.

Speaker 6 (01:02:29):
Good evening, gentlemen.

Speaker 5 (01:02:30):
And you have reminded me when he made the Kyrie
Irving reference, so I looked it up.

Speaker 6 (01:02:35):
His one year at Duke. Remember, he was hurt and
he missed much of the season.

Speaker 5 (01:02:39):
He started eight to zero at Duke, including a thirty
one point game against Michigan State. Came back for the
NCAA tournaments and I saw his last game.

Speaker 6 (01:02:47):
It was in Anaheim.

Speaker 5 (01:02:48):
They got upset by Arizona and Derek Williams in the
Sweet sixteen. That night, the two games were Kemba Walker
and Connecticut beating Kawhi Leonard and San Diego State. And
then the next game was Kyrie and Duke getting upset.
And then that summer's draft was Kyrie Irving drafted number
one overall, Derek Williams Arizona number two overall. Kemba Walker

(01:03:09):
was number nine overall. I did not realize Derek Williams
had seven years in the NBA or that his last
two NBA games were as a Laker.

Speaker 6 (01:03:18):
I certainly do not.

Speaker 2 (01:03:21):
I don't know why you had to bring up San
Diego State los him. Sorry.

Speaker 5 (01:03:23):
Sorry, that was, by the way, an awesome crowd, one
of many that San Diego State has produced. But they
just you know, game in Anaheim. They had a lot
of fans there and that was if they had won
that game, that would have been immediately one of the
top ten moments in the history of San Diego sports,
any sport. That was truly an amazing team where they

(01:03:44):
were starting to get that run and actually had an
NBA score. And by the way, Clay Thompson also was
in that draft from Washington State and he had just
had a forty point game in the PAC twelve Tournament Downtown,
LA for Washington State. Well that's update college hoops as
we've got second round going on in the NCAA Men's Tournament.
It's halftime. B Yu is winning again. They're ahead of

(01:04:06):
three seed Wisconsin forty seven to thirty six. One seed
Houston is ahead at the half against Gonzaga thirty five
to twenty seven. The late game UCLA against two seed
Tennessee is going to be coming up in about twenty minutes.
Everything else is final for a Saturday. Arkansas beat two
seed Saint John seventy five sixty six. It'll be Arkansas

(01:04:28):
against Texas Tech at the Sweet sixteen in San Francisco.
Texas Tech eliminated Drake seventy seven to sixty four. Purdue
started the day beating McNees. In fact, Purdue was up
eighteen at the half seventy six to sixty two. The
final Auburn has won one seed came back to beat
Creyton tonight eighty two to seventy. Auburn versus Michigan in

(01:04:50):
the sweet sixteen in Atlanta. Michigan beats Texas A and
M ninety one to seventy nine. NT tournament wins for
Bradley and Chattanooga women's basketball yukon one it's opener one
oh three to thirty four against Arkansas State, and USC
at home won its first rounder seventy one to twenty
five against UNC Greensboro to the NBA scoreboard no Steph

(01:05:15):

Speaker 2 (01:06:06):
Tell I think it was fourteen dollars. I can tell
Fast Fashion baby, killing the planet, but I like it speaking.

Speaker 3 (01:06:11):
Of fast fashion. I don't know how much he's killing
the planet. But Lebron James just said back in the
lineup today, Uh Luca dncs. It just looks like this
tweet came out a couple of minutes ago, twenty minutes ago.
He's gonna play as well. The Bash brothers are back
in LA.

Speaker 2 (01:06:26):
They're back many we get to see what they do
against the Chicago Bulls, and uh, I'm sad to I'm
sad we're not gonna get more. Markie Morris, I really
enjoyed that. It's gonna be.

Speaker 3 (01:06:38):
It looks like that will be coming to and then
you know, he'll probably pop up in a playoff game
somewhere and be.

Speaker 2 (01:06:43):
Like, what are you doing there? But it looks like
Lebron Luca coming back.

Speaker 3 (01:06:49):
So we saw the Lakers are going to start this
four game road I'm sorry, ended the four game road trip,
starting a stretch of five straight home games there go.
That's how you count. But uh, Lakers, how were you
did you think that? How do you think they did without,
you know, Lebron being out with that groin injury, and

(01:07:09):
where do you think now going forward? The future can
lead if Lebron is going and he's back in his spot,
like in good shape.

Speaker 2 (01:07:16):
I mean they held it pretty well, right like. I
think they got a little help like that that Denver game.
You know, no Jamal Murray, no no Jokic, so that
that helped. They got destroyed by the Bucks, but I
think that was expected with with no no Luca and
BRONI only came off the bench in that one earlier.
That was a big, a big confidence builder for the
eleventh man. Yes, absolutely, but look, let's assume that they

(01:07:37):
beat the Bulls, because I don't think Michael Jordan's playing
to night. So I think they they're gonna take the
Bulls tonight. That's fourful. Jordan Ball are doubtful for tonight.
Horace Grant still to be determined. That's a game time decision.
But for one on the homestead like that, that's a
big boost. And they're still in the mix for that
two seed. I think they I think they need the
two seed. I think that's something where you want that.

(01:08:01):
We know they can't get the one, we know nobody
can get the one, but the thunder. I think if
you can control your own destiny in terms of any
game seven in the first two rounds is on your
home floor. I just think, like for this team, with
the way that they have surged over the last couple
of months, finally getting these last you know, twelve ish game, yeah,
twelve games to really fine tune everything, and now that

(01:08:25):
Luca seems to be back to form, and now Lebron
gets to get back to form over this time and
they get to actually mesh together and try not to
make so much your turn, my turn, but like, you know,
more of a fluid offense. I think that's I think
that's big for them. If they can get that two
seed or maybe even stay in the three. You know,
they're they're formidable. I don't know if I don't know
how deep they can go. It's gonna be matchup dependent.

(01:08:46):
But this is this is a legit team, say, and
that's where I talk.

Speaker 3 (01:08:50):
I think I agree with your point of staying in
the two seats. Know, the Clippers have been hot as
of late. The Warriors have been scorching in their last
with twenty five or so games, so it hasn't really
mattered that the Clippers and Timberwolves have both been also
hot as well. As you look at the bottom of
the are the bottom of the playoff top of the

(01:09:11):
play in standings in the Western Conference.

Speaker 2 (01:09:14):
But to your point, if I'm looking at these teams.

Speaker 3 (01:09:18):
I want to play the Grizzlies or the or like
the Clippers in the first round of the playoffs. I
think the Lakers need to get to the two seed
in order to I put it like this, would you
be shocked to see the Houston be a first round exit?

Speaker 2 (01:09:35):
No? Because they're young.

Speaker 3 (01:09:37):
Yeah, it was first team, really good nine won their
last I mean they're on fire as well. But like
you said earlier, you look at the numbers, they're good offensively,
you watch them playing and it's like, dang, he almost
took somebody's eye out with that brick. Yes, you know,
it's like, wow, one of those who was the player
you'll know, the player who on free throw attempts when

(01:09:59):
it was a bad case.

Speaker 2 (01:10:00):
Yeah, Chuck's where Allen Iverson accused him of traveling on
a free throw, which is one of the greatest greatest
moments in NBA history.

Speaker 3 (01:10:06):
So it's if it is like that, like, oh lord,
so I see that, and I would I would be surprised.
See okay, see bounced in round one. Not so surprised
if you see if you're telling me I got a
round two matchup between Golden State and Oklahoma City like
the War, like the last thirty.

Speaker 2 (01:10:24):
Game, Golden State and Oklahoma City, that's tough. Intrigued, that's tough. Yeah,
I'm intrigued.

Speaker 3 (01:10:29):
You telling me you got a second round series the
uh you know, against the cool Joki.

Speaker 2 (01:10:33):
Some way it breaks down, I'm intrigued.

Speaker 3 (01:10:35):
Yeah, right, So I think if you you want to stay,
you gotta get to that two spot, so that way
you're you're not running into one of those guys in
that first or second round.

Speaker 2 (01:10:45):
Absolutely not. I think with this too, you want the Clippers,
like no offensive Clippers that they're a really good team,
but every year it's do we have a healthy Kawhi Leonard, right,
Like that's what it is every single year, and this
Clippers team just isn't very good offensively. They're great offensively,
but they're not very good offensively, And so I would
take that that risk if I'm if I'm the Lakers, like,

(01:11:05):
all right, we'll see if Kuhi is healthy and we'll
see if they can score or even like we run
into a Minnesota Timberwolves team that has been better lately,
but also that team's inconsistent. I know they like.

Speaker 3 (01:11:18):
The whole way that the Timberwolves have been a lot
better recently is they found a way to fit Julius
Randall into the situation. And I know you well enough
to know that you buy that. We wouldn't buy that
with a three dollar bill. Would You couldn't give it
to me. You couldn't give it to me, Like I
recognize he's a good player, but also in a time

(01:11:40):
where they've had an opportunity to move up and really
challenge the Warriors for that for that sixth seed, they
lost toy They lost the two tim I can't remember
the first game, but the second game they lost the Pelicans.
They lost the Pelicans at home. Oh, they lost the Pacers.
The lost of Pacers were shitting like three or four starters.

Speaker 2 (01:11:59):
That was the game to it. Yeah, but Tracy McGrady
in overtime, yes, And like you shouldn't have lost either
of those games at home. And so like Minnesota, they're
super talented and it's great, but that team's still very
questionable the playoffs. So I think if you're Lakers, you
can set yourself up for either of those teams in
the first round. You take that.

Speaker 3 (01:12:18):
Yeah, last four for the Timberwolves, Jazz Pacers, Pelicans, Pelicans
going two and two in that stretch, it's pretty disgusting.

Speaker 2 (01:12:25):
Gross.

Speaker 3 (01:12:26):
That's pretty gross, especially after Housing like Denver earlier, they
were on a run. Like I just and I maybe
it's just I'm a blind fan of Anthony Edwards and
his uh you know, Keisha Cole commercial everything, but uh,
I just think I wish that that team could get
it together.

Speaker 2 (01:12:45):
I wish that team could get it together.

Speaker 3 (01:12:46):
I just think, like in terms of the NBA, A
don't say the NBA needs like need to face, but
Anthony Edwards needs to be one of the more popular players.

Speaker 2 (01:12:55):
In the league. He's so fun. He's a great personality.
He's a he's a fun player on the court. He
one last year's like, well you need a three point shot?
Well from three, you know, in a quick side note.
But you know kids his age, Yeah, that shows my
age calling them kids. Yeah, but like his age to
like high school Kisha Cole is like the best for them.

(01:13:18):
They can't.

Speaker 3 (01:13:19):
I was at a high school football game and they
play love over the over the loud speaker and it's
just a whole bunch of fifteen year olds.

Speaker 2 (01:13:28):
You just think that wasn't fine enough? There you go
where you like that?

Speaker 8 (01:13:33):
That was so beautiful?

Speaker 2 (01:13:35):
Thank you beautiful.

Speaker 8 (01:13:36):
It was beautiful. Honestly she was in the room with us.

Speaker 4 (01:13:40):
Wow.

Speaker 3 (01:13:41):
Okay, now, but seriously, like I feel belting it out,
like I mean, he's just Sean.

Speaker 2 (01:13:48):
I'm like, how do you all know this song? It's
a great song, but pardon me? Realized like what she
sings like.

Speaker 3 (01:13:53):
All of their u all their parents are probably my
age are a little older. So this was like time
to clean your room for the throw the we're.

Speaker 2 (01:14:00):
Throwing it on.

Speaker 8 (01:14:02):
TikTok.

Speaker 2 (01:14:03):
It's like all over tiktoktok. That's how they get you, TikTok.
All right, well that's how they get you. Coming up next,
we'll see if Ryan Berschecker can get us with a
game of who you Got? What's the do you have
a topic or anything of the tease of who you Got?
It should be tournament edition? If you're doing your job?

Speaker 7 (01:14:17):
Is it?

Speaker 2 (01:14:18):
Maybe we'll see it. We'll see coming up next. Mar
and wife Zach Carper the Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 1 (01:14:28):
You're listening to sports radio radio.

Speaker 3 (01:14:31):
Martin Weiss, Zach Harper, I'm at Martin Wise, Zach Barber's
at Talk Hoops comes to you live from the tire
iraq dot com studios.

Speaker 2 (01:14:40):
You know, Mary, somebody brought up a very good point
to me about your song Mary or Board. She said
it was a woman.

Speaker 3 (01:14:45):
She said, I can't sing this song, can't mess with
it because there was no point in my life that
I thought I wasn't fine enough.

Speaker 8 (01:14:51):
This song is very insecure.

Speaker 2 (01:14:54):
It was a very crazy song.

Speaker 8 (01:14:55):
I would never say this to a man, but hey,
it happened.

Speaker 2 (01:14:59):
But you know what, banger. Nonetheless, all right, let's do it.
Who you got? You're up, birsh who you got? Generally?

Speaker 3 (01:15:16):
No, well you have to get you have the name.
I know this is your first time in the share.
So I asked if Mary explained this to you and
this which she said, you think I'm not doing my job?

Speaker 2 (01:15:24):
Expletive you were supposed to talk this day. That's a
great response. That's a great response.

Speaker 9 (01:15:29):
I said you he has to run it, and he
was like, oh, okay, I can do that. Bet that
was his boyds verbado.

Speaker 3 (01:15:34):
Well, I'll just say there was like a fifteen second
pause there. I was waiting for him to go ahead
and get it done. So that's on one of you Tube,
and I'll go ahead.

Speaker 2 (01:15:41):
I didn't.

Speaker 7 (01:15:42):
I'll just I never say bet, so I I can
say that I did not say that for verbatim.

Speaker 2 (01:15:48):
Fair enough. But uh, okay, okay, that's so crazy. What
the hell I've never said bet before in my life.
I'm being misquoted? All right? Who you got? Who I got?

Speaker 1 (01:16:02):
Who?

Speaker 2 (01:16:02):
Who is this? Who's the person I'm gonna give you
who we play for? That is who you got? Okay.

Speaker 7 (01:16:09):
So I'm gonna give you guys the clues here one
by one, sure, and you're gonna you're gonna take a
stab at who this person is?

Speaker 2 (01:16:16):
There? You go, good, good.

Speaker 8 (01:16:18):
I don't eve don't want to guess who anymore.

Speaker 2 (01:16:20):
There's a lot I got faith in Burst. We're gonna
pull it together.

Speaker 7 (01:16:23):
You're gonna do it, thank you. Okay, first clue here.
He was tapped to be the host of a program
called the Walt Disney Magic Hour, a show about Disney
parks and resorts. However, the show never.

Speaker 3 (01:16:35):
Aired Walt Disney Magic Hour. So the only thing I
would say, Ryan, this was your first time. This guy's
supposed to be involved in sports. That's correct, all right,
just double checks. All right, that is generally the only
prerequisite that we have here, So go ahead with the
next one.

Speaker 2 (01:16:51):
Okay.

Speaker 7 (01:16:53):
So so okay, so I you guys, don't you guys
don't make a guess after every clue?

Speaker 2 (01:16:57):
No, generally, but I guess be justin Timberlake. Okay, Okay,
that's fine. I'm just making sure Michael Straham because there
will there will.

Speaker 7 (01:17:07):
Be a point when it becomes obvious, and I just
want to make that's the goal, right, okay, good, good,
all right, all right, great, next up. He appeared in
season eight of The Mass Singer.

Speaker 3 (01:17:19):
Season eight of The Mass Singer. You know, the only
person I've ever known to be on as is the
h the doctor from the Hangover? Who's name neglecting right now?
John ken Jong Right, that's the only guy I've ever
seen on The Mass Singer. I've seen some episodes of it.
But who's the athlete that you know?

Speaker 4 (01:17:37):
He was?

Speaker 5 (01:17:38):
He was?

Speaker 2 (01:17:39):
Yeah?

Speaker 7 (01:17:40):
He was? He actually no, he could say he's really good.
Did the judges were they able to guess him?

Speaker 2 (01:17:45):
Do they do? They know who? I mean, he's like
six to five, so they think to.

Speaker 7 (01:17:48):
The point of his Victor Oli a famous enough NBA player.
Yeah right, okay. Third here a film about his life
was released in twenty twenty three, a film.

Speaker 3 (01:18:00):
About his life, Janni's Antio Giannis antitoombo, it's not honest.

Speaker 2 (01:18:06):
Uh. What did the Jackie Robinson? What did Jackie Robinson
the movie come out? Yeah?

Speaker 8 (01:18:12):
That movie came on like twenty seven.

Speaker 10 (01:18:13):
Well, it just would have been very hard for Jackie
to be the season of the Mass Singer. That's a
good I forgot about that clue. Well, I forgot about
that clue. Yeah, that would have been well, you know
the Mass Singer. Mass Singer come out in nineteen or
fifty five. Okay, number four. He retired from his sport

(01:18:34):
twice and is an Olympic gold medalist.

Speaker 3 (01:18:38):
Hired twice. You want to say MJ. But MJ wasn't
a Season eight of the Mass Singer. No, he sure
wasn't retired twice. Marshawn Lynch, Magic Johnson.

Speaker 2 (01:18:54):
Okay, number five. He has five sons, all of them.
George Foreman, George Forman, George here you go.

Speaker 1 (01:19:06):
What was it?

Speaker 2 (01:19:06):
There was a movie about George Forman's life.

Speaker 7 (01:19:08):
Yeah, it was called Big George Foreman.

Speaker 8 (01:19:11):
Another fun fact, The Office did an episode about George.

Speaker 3 (01:19:14):
Hermon, Hey listen, you want to talk about We were
actually having this conversation off the air. It's really beneficial
to make yourself famous in one arena and then use
that fame to parlay into something else. Because you ask
anybody under the age of twenty five, and they know
George Foreman from the grill.

Speaker 2 (01:19:32):
They know George from the grill. I bet he made
more money selling grills than boxing. Absolutely grills everywhere what
I had too in college, That's what I say.

Speaker 3 (01:19:41):
I've owned multiple Yeah, at least to George Foreman, seventy
four years old, rest in peace, one of the Seriously,
did George Foreman grill walked till the air friar could fly?
I think I think think the airfire would have happened anyway.

(01:20:02):
I don't it might have maybe the Panini press, look,
it might have. I'm talking about in terms of ease
of doing things, you know, like, look, the crossover existed
before Allen Iverson had crossed over Michael Jordan. But that's
the one that I always think of when somebody says,
what's a crossover.

Speaker 2 (01:20:18):
It's like, I don't think the airfire in the former
growth anything alike, so they plug it. Do you know
what they have a like? I know how to use
both of them. That's the key.

Speaker 1 (01:20:28):
Don't listen Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 2 (01:20:32):
That's right, and we're.

Speaker 3 (01:20:33):
Broadcasting live from the tire rack dot Com studios tire
act dot Com. We'll hop you get there with an
unmaxed election past, free shipping, free road, that protection, and
over ten thousand recommending this dollars tire act dot Com.

Speaker 2 (01:20:44):
It's the way that tire buying should be.

Speaker 3 (01:20:47):
Look doing a quick look around the Nclblay tournament right now,
Tennessee Ucla just getting started. Steve Hartman right now pulling
his hair out watching this UCLA team. I'm sure this
is what is amazing about college back. This game has
been off for three minutes. There's been nine point score total.

Speaker 2 (01:21:05):
Every game I watch college basketball is like, why again
did I not take the first half under nine hard
scrabble points too? They have to earn everybody.

Speaker 3 (01:21:14):
Yeah, Houston right now with a nine point lead at
Gonzaga with fourteen minutes left in the game. Gonzaga is
one of these teams. We have them in college basketball,
not so much in college football. But every year they
run through their conference and win their conference tournament and
they get to the tournament and it's like there's levels
here and every so often they have a guy who

(01:21:35):
can really like an Adam Morrison or something like that,
but like there's levels, and I think that we run
into this every year with Gonzaga, even with an i L,
even with transfer portal, there's still levels, still levels to.

Speaker 2 (01:21:48):
It, and like, yeah, you do have the time where like,
oh Man, they got Jalen Sugson, chet Homegroun, oh Man,
Austin Day is a kid or like yeah, like you said,
Adam Morrison, all these guys. But yeah, there are times
where you're reminded of like it's great that you can
dominate your conference and you've got, you know, one of
the top records in the country and everything, but some
of these other schools like Houston, Like Houston is a

(01:22:10):
like that is a team that's a great program. Now
they can shoot, they can defend, they are all over
the floor. Like you can't just bring a scrappy team
against Houston and expect to win, no, because they are
the scrappy team exactly. You can't outscrappy the scrappers right now.

Speaker 3 (01:22:26):
I think, especially in a sport like college basketball, low
level back, lower level basketball NBA, there's too many games
the players are too good to There's a reason why
the only Pat Bev would pick up full court. Yes, right,
because that's all he's got to do. You know what
I'm saying. If he shoots too much, they they sit down,
pass the ball. No, no, no, I'm out here to

(01:22:46):
play defense. I'm gonna play ninety four feet. And college
basketball it's not that you can still you can do
things like press, you can because the talent level. Not
everybody can handle the ball with the level of the
way that in the NBA right can handle the ball.

Speaker 2 (01:23:00):
And the level of execution.

Speaker 3 (01:23:04):
The players in the NBA are so much better, older, bigger,
smarter that they can execute through things like There will
be and there haven't been too many in this tournament
except for one where hundred Dickins has just passed it
right to the guy from DJA from Arkansas goes up,
basically ending Kansas this year. Yeah, but we will see

(01:23:24):
the Chris Rubert call time out moment in this tournament.

Speaker 2 (01:23:27):
We'll see moments where guys.

Speaker 3 (01:23:29):
Who just kind of lose a little bit because they're
all between the ages of well now they're all between
the ages of eighteen and twenty, these kids.

Speaker 2 (01:23:37):
But now it'll it'll even back out now that through
it the COVID years and such. But because everybody here
is at the oldest twenty three, twenty four years old.
And I think about the.

Speaker 3 (01:23:46):
Things that I did at twenty three or twenty four
years old, and at least there wasn't millions of people
watching me be an idiot.

Speaker 2 (01:23:52):
Right, I mean, I said, look, there was a time
I would think I was nineteen twenty tried out for
the and One tour. Oh wow, there's a crowd of
about I mean, probably like a thousand people in that gym,
right Like. It was a pretty big It was a
pretty big gym, pretty big thing. And I went out there,
and man, I was confident. I'm like, man, I got
these moves, I got this jump shot. I'm gonna do this. Man.
I pulled up first first play, right, first play, I

(01:24:13):
get the ball, come up the floor, pull up from
thirty shot about twenty five feet and man, everybody let
me know it. I recovered. I had a nice game.
I played. I handled myself. But that first shot like,
I get it, Like that was not that many people
compared to what they're going going right against right in
those to you, that was the bright light. That was

(01:24:35):
the bright lights. Yeah right, that was the bright lights.
Wasn't on CBS try Out for the end? This was
before ESPN picked up that show, Like this wasn't it?

Speaker 3 (01:24:43):
I said, nobody had known, nobody knew who the professor
and escalated, no, hey, you know what.

Speaker 2 (01:24:49):
If you're under the edge of twenty five, you also
don't know who the professor.

Speaker 3 (01:24:52):
Escala it is, tell you what and one mixtape Tori
it was a moment kids, So uh, let's see what
a game over here?

Speaker 2 (01:24:59):
Wisconsin and b Yu.

Speaker 3 (01:25:00):
Oh by so number three for BYU Again, I have
watched more college basketball in the last seventy two hours
than I did the entire season.

Speaker 2 (01:25:12):
But what I did find was this guy b Yu
number three from out of town. I forget his name,
Igor Igor Den Deminon or.

Speaker 3 (01:25:21):
Something or something something like that, but I saw six
nine with a handle and he was lighting it up
in round one.

Speaker 2 (01:25:28):
Now, the lighting it up is rare. He's not a
shooter like that, to the point where I was like, look,
I like him he's a good player. He's man, he
can play. Make this kid can handle, he can sling
that ball like he he's good. And like you say,
he's six', nine like he he's smooth like a real,
six like a real. Sick he's too tall to be
doing what he's doing, exactly like like LIKE i, mean

(01:25:49):
obviously not this good of a, player but like when
you the first time you Saw lamarrod him out there
like like handling the ball and everything right like that
kind of tall like with with that kind of like
impact or. Whatever but he is not a. Shooter, like
he's not a. Shoot so he went LIKE i think
like four to six in the first game from three or.
Whatever he's not. That but if he can get with
like a shot doctor in the first like year or,

(01:26:10):
so and like he, can he projects to be somewhere
in that LIKE i think late lottery to you, know
maybe the twenty or something like. That, depends like he's
gonna have to go through the. Combine he's gonna have
to go through some good pre draft and. Everything but
if he if he can get that shot going early
in his, career that kid's a. Player one of.

Speaker 3 (01:26:28):
Those Chip england is the one that everybody always throws.
Out the guy that like Fixed. Kawhi leonard was one
of his famous. Tutors tutors Because kawhi could not. Shoot
kawhi like AS i loved him In San diego s
but he could not. Shoot but he got.

Speaker 2 (01:26:43):
That he got With chip right before the lockout happened
in twenty eleven twenty, twelve worked on it the whole,
time came back all of a, sudden he can.

Speaker 3 (01:26:50):
Shoot, yeah this guy a freshman From. Moscow he averaged
ten and a half points on the, year five and
a half assists on forty two percent from the. Floor,
Devin BUT i just saw. HIM i was just very, like,
yeah he stands, out like he really stands. Out and,
again not the same level of, player Because Cam newton
is one of the top five college football players that

(01:27:12):
has ever walked the face of the. Earth but the
first SNAP i ever saw him take At, AUBURN i,
said oh my, buddy why is the tight end playing?
Quarterback you, know it's like he's just LIKE i didn't see.
It now obviously he shut me up immediately after, that,
right and it's every snap going.

Speaker 2 (01:27:30):
FORWARD i get. It but WHEN i first saw the first,
NAP i, said why is this.

Speaker 3 (01:27:35):
Tight end playing? Quarterback and WHEN i Saw byu playing
for THE i was, like, yo the small forward does
a lot of ball. Handling AND i was, like oh, no,
wait this is the point. Guard this is the point.
Guard AND i think is in today's league where you
have so many primary ball handlers who are six or
five and, up that's a big. If LIKE i, get

(01:27:58):
he's far from a per, prospect, right but WHEN i
look at his, sides in his handle to your, point
if he can shoot and get in the way on,
defense he should be able to play in the league
for a, minute because you're gonna have to have somebody
to stay in front of The luca donc and those
Those Anthony edwards and those skys w were six four
to six' eight on.

Speaker 2 (01:28:18):
The wing players were primary. Ball hndler and especially like
with playmaking the way it is AT the, nba, level
right having a guy at that height who it doesn't
even matter if you push up, on, him, right like
he can. See everything he, can see he can look
over so he can. See everything he's got a great
sense of where everybody is on. The court he knows
how to set, them up he has every pass like
he he's going to be a VERY good. NBA player

(01:28:40):
i don't know he's going to be A great. Nba
player that will determine on the shot making and how.
He develops, but man this kid can play like if
they can go on any kind of, deep run they're
in a. Good, position now they're, up eleven will make
that Fourteen on wisconsin with the little under ten and
a half to go in the. Second half like he
like this could really make a name for him to
where the scouting departments in the IN, the nba they've

(01:29:02):
known about him for, A while they won't they won't
necessarily get like, this, like oh made a deep, Tournament
run maybe. We should but where it gets you is the, owner,
notices right and the. Owner notices that's when you started,
to hey get me. That guy because who WAS a
i think it was It Was.

Speaker 3 (01:29:20):
JEFF tigue I believe i saw a clip from him
talking about this tournament and how every team in the
league has scouts at every one of these reasons even
though they already know everything about it and, so on
and it almost seems like not quite an antiquated way of.
Doing things but like you could tell that it's something
that they've done since the history of, this tournament the

(01:29:41):
History of scouting's, like, no, no no somebody spending their Region,
and spokane you're Going, To arizona you're Going to bois
and you're gonna go watch all of.

Speaker 2 (01:29:49):
These games but it's also like it's not, just, like
oh we are charting this during. The game you are
gathering all this intel off the court, like that like
you're getting the. Whole, experience yeah, but yeah, it is
there is part. Of it, IT'S like, i mean we
like we can watch, the stuff.

Speaker 3 (01:30:04):
But to, your point how, Guys act like we were
talking Earlier About rick Patino Benching luis junior down the
stretch in. The game if you're Interested In luise junior as,
a prospect you get to lay eyes on him and
see how he reacts at.

Speaker 2 (01:30:15):
That moment is? He sad? He crying don't did you
give him middle fingers to?

Speaker 7 (01:30:19):
The?

Speaker 3 (01:30:19):
Coach like how is his reaction in, that moment in
a moment that was probably not what he. Wanted it
it's definitely not what he wanted you to matchine not
to go out.

Speaker 2 (01:30:27):
Like that how does?

Speaker 3 (01:30:27):
He react so that is valuable in the ability to.
See THAT and I get i think you get an
opportunity TO see. I don't i KNOW the nba has
attempted to define what, clutch IS and i think it's
kind of one of those things Like The supreme court said.

Speaker 2 (01:30:41):
About pornography, IT'S like i don't know what, it IS
but i KNOW when i.

Speaker 3 (01:30:44):
See it this you get an opportunity to see guys
Operate Like. Trey donaldson, to me He, plays michigan he.
Is clutch is he gonna be a? Problem though is
he gonna?

Speaker 2 (01:30:53):
Be good? YOU know.

Speaker 3 (01:30:54):
I don't then the next level maybe the last time
he plays basketball at a, high level but at this level.

Speaker 2 (01:30:59):
He's clutched you trust an opportunity to. See, That YEAH
and i think also there are certain Guys and egor
might be one of. These guys there are certain people
where it's like this, sounds, Obvious RIGHT but i tell
people if and, you know we're running out of. These
Opportunities but i've always. TOLD you i, was like if
you get a chance To Watch lebron james, in person
you have to do it because it is just different

(01:31:20):
than what you SEE. On TV and i don't know
how to. Explain it but seeing the way he moves,
In Person russell westbrook the same way like back in his,
like prime You See russell westbrook moving in person rather THAN.
On tv it is. Just different some of, these guys
you see the way, They move you see the fluidness
and the power. Or whatever egor might be one of
these guys where we LOOK on tv, Are, like wow that's,

(01:31:42):
pretty cool and in person it's there's a fluidness where
it's like there's an energy to it where, You're, like
okay there's more to this game than we.

Speaker 3 (01:31:48):
EVEN realize i THINK if i were to try to
describe the difference between SEEING because i understand exactly what. You,
mean yeah Between seeing lebron in person even, from far
like even if you're up in the bleat like, the
top like you feel like you. Need binoculars you can't
feel the force in which he does, Things right like

(01:32:11):
you can't even just dribbling.

Speaker 2 (01:32:14):
The ball like it's, like yo he's pounding the hell
out of. The ball but it looks so EASY.

Speaker 3 (01:32:19):
On tv but when, you're there you could hear and you,
could see like hear A guy Gough as lebron puts
his shoulder in his chest and, it's, Like oh lebron
just collapses chest cavity PUT.

Speaker 2 (01:32:30):
On tv it's just like it, looks, like oh where's?
He Going carmelo anthony was one of those guys where
like he is, A bully like he played with so
much force and like, he would, you know he put
his shoulder into your chest and he would just knock,
you back and you really got the sense. In person
this is always SOMETHING where i tell people for just
to get a Sense Of, lebron james go to a
foot lock or a foot. Action thing try on his

(01:32:52):
shoe that does a heavy. Ass shoe he makes it.
Look light go try on that shoe and, You're LIKE
and i, Always think, i'm like WHY would i want? That,
shoe right, No. Offense lebron it's a cool looking shoe
most of, The time but WHY would i want? That shoe,
oh WELL if i was six eight, two sixty that
shoe would be pretty easy for me. To wear, YOU
know i, need, SOMETHING well i need something that's gonna
give me some CUSHION when. I land, Right exactly i'm a,

(01:33:13):
big log.

Speaker 3 (01:33:14):
You know to your point about going to seeing, PEOPLE
live i now me and it was a million other
People This, summer LEAGUE but i made. A point i,
WAS like i gotta Go See zion williamson in PERSON
because i. DIDN'T believe i. DIDN'T believe i, was like he's,
too big he's. Too big i've seen. Him before he plays,
defensive tackle. You know and SURE enough i went out

(01:33:36):
there to That First summer. League game until you remember
The day kawhi got traded and there was an Earthquake.

Speaker 2 (01:33:41):
In, VEGAS man i remember like it. Was yesterday.

Speaker 3 (01:33:44):
WE'RE there i was watching him dunk in the summer
in the in the warm, up LINES and i was
standing under the BASKET and i could feel the ground
shaking when.

Speaker 2 (01:33:53):
He landed like That's.

Speaker 3 (01:33:55):
What i'm, talking about talking about the level of force where,
it's like, oh oh this, is different.

Speaker 2 (01:34:01):
Like when You See. Steph Curry steph curry has one
of the biggest Tricks the devil ever made Was A
andrew wiggins in that. Finals run but be, convincing everybody.

Speaker 3 (01:34:15):
But also convincing people, that somehow you you listen to,
my voice can do anything similar To What steph. Curry
does i've stood Next, to Steph but i'm a, tall
guy played high. SCHOOL basketball i could have played low,
level COLLEGE but i wasn't going anywhere. Besides, That right,
but again like, you said, for earlier, FOR civilians I could,
Hoopah Man steph curry.

Speaker 2 (01:34:37):
Makes me look.

Speaker 3 (01:34:37):
So small yah makes me look. So small and you
look at him like he's A small he's one of
the smallest on. The, court, now man you see him,
in person it hits, entirely.

Speaker 2 (01:34:47):
Differently absolutely like it's it's, it's FUNNY like i still
REMEMBER because. I was i was there For that zion,
moment Too and i'm still convinced he caused. The earthquake,
But yo i'm. NOT shocked. I would i just need
to see one GEOLOGIST say i. Remember, WHATEVER yeah i
remember that that moment Where Like kevin KNOX, had theo
he just.

Speaker 1 (01:35:06):
Took it he.

Speaker 2 (01:35:07):
Took It kevin knox is like, six seven two hundred and.
Fifteen pounds he's a, grown man even at nineteen twenty.
Years old he's a.

Speaker 3 (01:35:14):
Grown Man and zion took it from him like he
like it was he took it from him like they
were playing through different levels of.

Speaker 2 (01:35:22):
His, sport yes like he took it from him the.

Speaker 3 (01:35:24):
Way that a high schooler would take a ball from an,
elementary school and.

Speaker 2 (01:35:28):
People, are, like oh why Won't the pelicans? Give up
why Won't the pelicans? Give Up like, ZION'S like i.
GET it i understand If the pelicans want to give up, and,
say look he's never gonna, be healthy we can't, do
it like we gotta. MOVE on i. Get it if
they for the next ten years say we have to
believe that this is going to. WORK someday i also
get it because. He's historic, Shout Out kevin knox got
a job sound rest of. The season rest of, the

(01:35:49):
season that was one of my Number One summer league
like fell. In love and then once the actual, GAMES
start i, was, like, oh, yeah rough that was a.
Rough one what we, Mentioned Earlier derek williams during his run,
twenty eleven that's one of the ONES where i knew
from the start this dude was not. Having it was

(01:36:09):
one of THE ones i, Got RIGHT like i was
Wrong About John. Wolver's currie but, everyone's like this dude's he,
can dunk and he can shoot threes at a fifty.
Percent CLIP and i watched them like we're based on. Seventy,
attempts yeah what do we. Do it i'll.

Speaker 3 (01:36:24):
Be honest if, you shoot if you're shooting fifty percent
from three forty five percent, FROM three i better.

Speaker 2 (01:36:31):
See you coming up SCREENS Like jj red. Exactly right
you Know what. I'm saying otherwise you don't. Shoot enough
it's like the other team is just letting. You shoot
you hit, Him great but that doesn't.

Speaker 7 (01:36:40):
Mean.

Speaker 3 (01:36:40):
Anything man speaking of things that may not, mean anything
there ARE three nfl teams right.

Speaker 2 (01:36:48):

Speaker 2 (01:43:15):
An arenas they didn't, go out they're not aur, a
surfing but swag you know when they start or. A
surfing then you can say that to me until that
is like saying. SWAG surfing i. HEARD it i was there,
like also like.

Speaker 3 (01:43:31):
FROM what i fundamentally, have understood if if swag and aura,
are two, you know interchangeable phrases from different, Times people
are you.

Speaker 8 (01:43:40):
Going to go to great lengths to? Get swag or
is like it's? In you, you know like It was god.

Speaker 2 (01:43:45):
GIVEN right a soldier boy. HAD swag, i disagree you

Speaker 6 (01:44:44):
You're up the team manager is in.

Speaker 5 (01:44:46):
The portal that's the, time portal because he's entered an
era where his immense talents are value to the point
that people are actually beating.

Speaker 2 (01:44:53):
ON him i don't mean to. Be rude what?

Speaker 6 (01:44:55):
Talent exactly you know it's another ERA and i you know.

Speaker 3 (01:45:00):
So again i've watched Two McNeese state games, all YEAR
so i wasn't necessarily familiar with what a mere CON's
day to day. Job WAS but i did notice in
today's game in the first half Of McNeese State's Jersey
unique states players, jersey ripped Was not aura running back
to the locker room to get the extra jersey out

(01:45:21):
for the player to come back on.

Speaker 5 (01:45:22):
The court so he's he just having no duties because
they won't let them sit on the bench DURING NCAA's
i don't have.

Speaker 2 (01:45:29):
The answer you notice it's like, first.

Speaker 6 (01:45:31):
Strow it's with the regular general folk in the seat.

Speaker 3 (01:45:35):
People team he just felt like maybe a moment of
a guy reading his own press clippings for getting to do.

Speaker 2 (01:48:05):
That, matter, No, don't.

Speaker 3 (01:48:08):
Aura con but here's the THING that i and it
makes me CRINGE when i. SEE this i am not
one of those what's? That show the one that the
real cringe were THEY show hbo where he did? Awkward
things oh, The, rehearsal yes the rehearsal like where, it's
like the whole setup is to make people, feel awkward to.
MAKE people. I don't it doesn't work for ME because

(01:48:29):
i don't feel. The Awkwardness so i'm, just like what's wrong?

Speaker 2 (01:48:31):
With you you're Gotta watch Nathan? For you have You
seen Nathan?

Speaker 1 (01:48:34):
FOR you i.

Speaker 2 (01:48:34):
Have, not oh that's that's his. First show. It's great
so the thing about it.

Speaker 3 (01:48:39):
LIKE this i, feel though because when you call a guy, Like,
this aura or if we ten years ago where to
say he had swag or whatever they would say the
eighties or nineties or so on that he. Was cool
it's all like he's the butt of, the joke like
no one actually is thinking that it's the surprise that
this kid wears asses and as this haircut actually knows

(01:49:02):
A Boss man dilo.

Speaker 2 (01:49:03):
Song, Like WHOOHOO like i, get like but it's the.
Same story we saw it every Year in minnesota last
few Years With. Kirk cousins they.

Speaker 3 (01:49:12):
Start out eight, and two nine, and one seven, and
three and all of a Sudden It's kirk cole bangs
on the back on. The plane he's got everybody's chain
on and he's. Doing it, oh yeah let me watch
me boss up and get this Money With justin jefferson's chain.
And grilling and it's, just, like, dude like the only
reason this, is funny it's because nobody believes that you

(01:49:33):
would actually do this in.

Speaker 2 (01:49:35):
Real life the only reason that we care is because
we know this is. Not you and it's like, to
me that person's being made.

Speaker 3 (01:49:44):
Fun of and to, be clear if they gonna give
me six, figure nil do make fun, Of me please
make jokes, on me, All right but this, is nonetheless
that is what's going, on HERE and i think it
has a a lot to do with the fact that
if you cause here's in college basketball, in history in college,

(01:50:04):
basketball's history and college force, in general the coaches are.

Speaker 2 (01:50:07):
The Stars will Wade Is will wade was.

Speaker 3 (01:50:12):
On the phone with AND that hbo documentary where they
buffed down people paying college, basketball players like my Name IS. William,
J wade i will pay you one hundred and fifty
thousand dollars COME to lsu. RIGHT now, i mean everybody
else ducking it and, So on And will wade went
up there, and, SAY no i didn't do. ANYTHING wrong
i didn't. DO nothing i don't know what y'all. Talking
ABOUT so i think that it's like a level, of

(01:50:34):
like we don't want to talk about this guy who
just blatantly Broke and cuba rules the last time he.

Speaker 2 (01:50:40):
Was at, the prominence and, this time, mind you he's
quit on this team before they played. The game so

Speaker 3 (01:51:12):
This fan has been a fan since nineteen oh nine
and the team is like on the cusp of winning
or maybe might win, Something.

Speaker 2 (01:51:19):
Like so what like pick a?

Speaker 3 (01:51:21):
Better team, you know like You've had you've had a
longer time to pick a, better, team right you know
how many teams?

Speaker 2 (01:51:28):
Was created anytime that could you could have picked.

Speaker 3 (01:51:31):
A difference you've been waiting For The minnesota vikings since nineteen.

Speaker 2 (01:51:34):
Fifty three there's been like eight, new teams ten, new
teams fifteen new teams invented in all sports. Since, then yeah,
you know but that's a. True fan that's a. TRUE
fan i don't know what. That means i'll say my
mind goes to a certain place EVERY time i see, these,
old old old, Old PEOPLE and i don't know if

(01:51:58):
it's just it's. JUST better i think we just let.

Speaker 3 (01:52:01):
That, GO like i don't care if your grandma has
been a fan Of the vikings Or the giants.

Speaker 2 (01:52:06):
Or whoever like it's cool.

Speaker 1 (01:52:08):
At all but.

Speaker 3 (01:52:09):
That's Not it's it's like when you watch local news
and they're doing a story about like the car wash.

Speaker 2 (01:52:15):
Or something it's like this is not it's. NOT newsworthy
i don't care about to tell me about. THE players
i THINK like i whenever they, SHOW that, i think oh,
that's great like good. For her get where what's happening on.
The court what's happened on. The court THAT'S what i want.
TO know i don't need to know the. DIFFERENT fans
i don't even need you to cut To Like jason

(01:52:36):
sidekis During A New york, liberty, Game like, I'M good
i know understand. He's there the ONLY thing i.

Speaker 3 (01:52:43):
Care, is like if we want to do A tomorrow
tv an, end bump right when when you're coming back
to the game and you're showing what they call the. Flavor,
shots right so if you want to show it like,
the game say Games. In seattle you want to show
me instead of watching one guy throw a fish to the,
other guy if you want to show me the famous
people are Crowd? In seattle, all, Right cool i'm, with,

(01:53:04):
that right, you know saying if you want to Show
me jay like, you, said uh You Know denzel washington
At the lakers game instead Of just.

Speaker 2 (01:53:10):
Santamnica. Compere, cool yeah outside of, that though You know
i'm here for. The game the kid took a Picture With.
Spike lee do you think either of them knew who the?
Other ones.

Speaker 1 (01:53:21):
There's.

Speaker 2 (01:53:21):
No way they, just, said hey you're two, famous people
go take. A picture american goes up, To him, he's,
LIKE dude I loved MIRACLE. AS stna i don't know
what they were. Talking about that. WAS great.

Speaker 3 (01:53:34):
I.

Speaker 2 (01:53:34):
Loved it Do The right thing was a very formidable movie.
For me. He's. Liked MAN when I WATCHED malcolm x
for the, FIRST time i. Was moved it was. LAST
week i was. All right coming up.

Speaker 3 (01:53:45):
Next The, way tournament you get a real opportunity to
view people doing the right thing and the. Wrong thing
and we saw two people in position, of powers one
do the right thing and another, one like why are
they still putting you in position to do things? This
dumb we'll get to that in just. A minute coming,

Speaker 2 (01:54:25):
Right after we get off.

Speaker 3 (01:54:26):
The air we're in the weekends section as We watch
wisconsin pump, fake pump, fake pump fake and not get
fouled in an attempt to tie game eighty one to
SEVENTY nine byu is going To ADVANCE.

Speaker 2 (01:54:43):
Like i we both you. SAID it i.

Speaker 3 (01:54:46):
Thought, it yeah what a terrible, last possession which is
just the story of, this, tournament right terrible. Last POSSESSIONS
but i think that's one of those that almost comes
out of like today's basketball where like most times a
guy is trying to pass that, off right he's guarded
with three seconds left on, the block but in, his
defense there was nobody rotating over there watching to see what's,

(01:55:09):
gonna happen which, you know it's the beauty of. College
basketball reality of it is like you expect that in.
High school college, you're, like man what are? You doing
you realize it's just, hey man there's only so many
guys and this is going to.

Speaker 2 (01:55:20):
Play pro, someone, cut please someone, cut, hey, dude something,
move flair cut. Do something don't just stand and watching
pump pump and then try to throw his arm into. The,
defender yeah especially see my thing was it?

Speaker 3 (01:55:36):
This time and not that anybody cares about my athletic
ability or potential prowess in, This moment.

Speaker 2 (01:55:41):
I'm trying to go get the rebound.

Speaker 3 (01:55:42):
For sure do You know i'm running to the rim
to at least try to get the REBOUND because i
got to be close to around there to at least.

Speaker 2 (01:55:50):
Try to tip this thing. Back, in also you, KNOW
what i was so good at pretending FAKING that i
got pushed on. THAT rebound i could draw that nine
times out. OF ten i was an expert. At it
you got to be able to at least do that
get yourself to the free.

Speaker 3 (01:56:06):
Throw, line so speaking of the free, throw line we
had obviously he one of the the stars of, this
Show This marks, madness show are. The, referees yeah and
for most of the time. Bad Reasons But roger ayers
officiated the Game against Liberty, against oregon which was an

(01:56:30):
ass whooping from the word jump right and he the
clock was going inside a minute. To go liberty's coach
sent the last player who had not gotten into.

Speaker 2 (01:56:43):
The game his name Is Jac.

Speaker 3 (01:56:44):
Shier junior he sent him to the scorer's table feels
like almost a moment where the coach didn't realize he hadn't,
played yet and, it's like, Oh, no lemilard get him.
Out there referee stops play to clean up a fake
wet spot on the floor in order.

Speaker 7 (01:56:59):
FOR.

Speaker 2 (01:57:00):
J C shire junior to get the run that he
would have never ever gotten IN the. Ncaa. Tournament, right that,
to me it didn't impact.

Speaker 3 (01:57:08):
The game, you know the game was over, well over
and if it had been a game that, was close
he wouldn't have got.

Speaker 2 (01:57:13):
The opportunity the factor was able to. DO that I
think i tip my cap, to. You referee. Great job.

Speaker 3 (01:57:20):
On the, flip side YOU Have Tv, ted valentine who
has had that nickname for at least.

Speaker 2 (01:57:27):
Twenty years easily, EASILY easily, i mean you.

Speaker 3 (01:57:31):
Want to talk about the star of the show in the,
worst way blowing kisses to fans as you're walking off. The,
COURT now i Don't Think ted valentine's on. THE take
i just think, he's, BAD right, i think and more often,
THAN not i think oftentimes when you see somebody who
you feel is on, the take, ask first is this
like sadistic?

Speaker 2 (01:57:52):
Or?

Speaker 3 (01:57:52):
Ineptitude RIGHT and i Think that teddy lands on the
ineptitude side more than the, you know mastermind. Scammer side
but if there's ever a reason to feel like there's
a level of impropriety, going, on yes it's because your
referee is blowing kisses to the opposing fan base that
are to the fan base that lost in.

Speaker 2 (01:58:10):
A game no space. For that so here here's. The
thing like IN the, Nba World joey crawford a very
animated referee for a very long time IN the nba
and Famously Threw tim duncan out of a game for
laughing on. The, Bench Right joey crawford, at times would,
you know have some moments that seemed a little unprofessional,

(01:58:33):
for sure especially that that Moment With tim duncan. Was
ridiculous at the, Same Time joey crawford was a, great,
referee right he was a GREAT. Referee Tv teddy valentine
is not the bad. REP now i think most of
the most of the refs in college, are, bad right.

Speaker 3 (01:58:50):
Especially we're talking about this too when you get to
this level where all these games were ON. National tv
most of, the time you're Not watching Evansville Play, high
point so you don't know if that refor is good.

Speaker 2 (01:58:59):
Or bad or. Not exactly this. Cannot happen, You can't
like you're not that referee on TikTok that gives advice
to like the all the players and, stuff, like oh
you're not gonna, do that and you give the fun
travel call and. That stuff you gotta, stop that LIKE
the nc double a SH like i don't like calling
for people's jobs. Or anything he shouldn't be working the
rest of. This tournament. That's it that's absolutelyous beyond what,

(01:59:23):
is acceptable and it it shows to me like a
lack of awareness of your.

Speaker 3 (01:59:31):
Importance, here yeah like you aren't completely unaware of how
much you matter as the official because especially.

Speaker 2 (01:59:40):
In today's day and age and not have to go
too far into the void.

Speaker 3 (01:59:43):
Of it but in a world where we have more
arguments about facts than we've, Ever had yes that it,
feels like at least in my thirty five years, of
life we gotta have.

Speaker 2 (01:59:52):
Some arbitrators that feels gotta. Be something they gotta. Be
right it's got to at least be, in sports like
we could be like all, right this we'll draw.

Speaker 3 (02:00:01):
That, Line YEAH so i just think there's no place,
for it and it just goes to show you how
like in the tournament as big, as this you have
all types of moments and, to me you had some
of the best things in sports where we talked about,
it earlier where this guy he'll go pro with something other.

Speaker 2 (02:00:15):
Than sports some of.

Speaker 3 (02:00:16):
THE Worst tv teddy who has been trying to go
viral since Before the. Internet existed in, that way, GUESS What?

Speaker 2 (02:00:21):
Tv teddy no aura ABOUT that a, no aura, no swag,
no cool none, of it none, of it none of it.

Speaker 3 (02:00:29):
What soever but coming Up Next, aaron tarres who has
done more Work On Fox sports radio in the last
week than a. Lot Him jason martin best college basketball
