Speaker 1 (00:01):
You don't listening to Fox Sports Radio.
Speaker 2 (00:04):
Let's play right in the middle of March Madness. The
NBA coming down the stretch. Oh, by the way, actual
Major League Baseball on American soil starts this week.
Speaker 3 (00:15):
There's plenty going on.
Speaker 2 (00:16):
Good evening to you eat from Salam my good friend,
and I have a question for you right out of
the gate, and it is this, if I put and
I know you're in the middle of this fasting experience,
Ramadan and all that you're doing. So I don't mean
for this to pick a scab of any short but
if I if I put something delicious in front of
you right now, delicious, but I promised you that if
(00:43):
you eat it, you're gonna get food poisoning later tonight.
Would you eat it? No, but it's delicious.
Speaker 4 (00:53):
It's delicious in mouth water and you're hungry. It's it's
I mean, it's the best thing that you could find
to eat.
Speaker 3 (01:03):
No, but then it'll make you sick. You're gonna get sick.
Speaker 5 (01:07):
I can't be that good.
Speaker 2 (01:08):
Okay, then why is everybody watching March Madness with this
silly instant gratification junk? Oh God, where are my upsets?
Where are your upsets? Who wants upsets?
Speaker 3 (01:21):
Don't? I don't know why everybody.
Speaker 2 (01:23):
Is all freaked out about the fact that that I
believe this is a real stat Somebody correct me if
I'm wrong. But for the first time in the history
of I think ever, the ones, twos, threes, and fours.
Speaker 3 (01:33):
All won their first round games, all of them.
Speaker 2 (01:36):
There were no upsets, no Slipper Fit, no Cinderella, no nothing,
nothing and not. Everyone's like something is broken here with
my march madness? Where are all my upsets? Why do
you want upsets? Knowing that eight times out of ten
they lead to a big bunch of junk performance the
(01:56):
next time out. I'm so glad that everybody got to
know Aura, the very very cool walk out boombox guy
for McNee state, and the players all did a wonderful
job of really playing it up, and the whole thing
made for wonderful digital content.
Speaker 3 (02:16):
What it did not make for was a wonderful second
round game.
Speaker 5 (02:19):
No, it did not.
Speaker 2 (02:20):
Okay, I don't want any upsets. I don't. I just liked, Yes,
they're fun for a minute, their instant gratification, But the
tournament is so much better if we can get all
the big boys going to next weekend.
Speaker 6 (02:35):
It is I like upsets when it's teams that are
locked in who can have staying power for me. You know,
those teams deserve to win. You know, winning one game
is one thing, but if you can win back to
back right to you know, two weekends, you know, two wins,
(02:58):
you're in the sweet sixteen, you know. So I like
the notion of you know, being able to to beat
a good team beat another good team. Yes, and now
people have to look at you like, oh wait, wait,
this is a good team. You know, anything can happened once,
(03:21):
but if it happens twice, then it's not anything anymore, right.
Speaker 5 (03:26):
And so the fact of you know, just.
Speaker 6 (03:31):
Of sixteen beating the one just to get boat raced
the next weekend, nobody wants to see that unless your
team is in that bracket with them, and they're like
yes uh.
Speaker 2 (03:42):
And by the way, for those of you who love
to fill out a bracket and e from I know
that's not you, No, But if you like to fill
out a bracket, I'd argue where most people go wrong
is they pick up that piece of paper.
Speaker 3 (03:52):
They have no idea who any of these teams are.
Speaker 2 (03:54):
Neither do I and they pick up that piece of paper,
or you hop into the app online, you go to
Fox Sport Radio dot com and you check it all
out and you start moving people through. And the big
mistake that people make is they start picking up sets
and they're like, I think that we've got a live
thirteen seed here, and I think that thirteen.
Speaker 3 (04:17):
Seed is going to the Elite eight this year. Well,
no they're not.
Speaker 2 (04:20):
And if they don't, you've totally ruined your bracket because
you're sitting there losing points that everybody else is getting.
I've sort of learned through the years, not that my
bracket is perfect or doing anything this week.
Speaker 3 (04:32):
That's not even my point. But my point is is.
Speaker 2 (04:34):
Like, like, the way to win a bracket pool is
to be boring. Just stay chalky, stay choky, stay chalky,
my friends, because that's what's going to win out in
the end.
Speaker 3 (04:48):
And you usually win.
Speaker 2 (04:49):
A bracket pool by not like braggadociously telling your friends
that you nailed it when McNee State.
Speaker 3 (04:57):
Pulled a twelve five.
Speaker 2 (04:59):
You win a bracket pool by picking the final four
correctly and the final champion correctly. So I am thankful
for this tournament because I have Tennessee winning the whole
thing in Tennessee will play next weekend. So that's that's
I don't know, man, Like that's I don't want the
tournament to become a worse product as it goes, Like
(05:21):
we already joked last week, that's kind of what ales
college basketball to a degree. Everybody went to Vegas this
weekend when the Championship Round is in theory just starting.
It'd be like if the NFL playoffs started and nobody
was left when the super Bowl got here, because.
Speaker 3 (05:42):
It's like, ah, I you know, I picked the wrong team.
Speaker 2 (05:45):
I had Tennessee winning in an upset and moving through
the NFL playoffs and then like the fewer games, fewer
people care. So I don't know, man, I'm kind of
excited about the way that this tournament is playing out
so far.
Speaker 5 (05:57):
Guy, it's good. And we had a great battle between
you in Florida.
Speaker 3 (06:00):
That was a really good game.
Speaker 5 (06:02):
That was a really good game.
Speaker 6 (06:04):
Was basketball at a high level, right, Yukon being what
was it the eight seed or ninth seed going up
against you know, as the defending champions going up against
the one eight seed, excuse me as a one seed Florida,
I mean, that was one of those games where if
Yukon wins that game, no one's doubting if they can
take it all the way based on the previous two years.
(06:25):
So upsets in those senses. Once you get to the
second round and all that, it's less upset and more like,
oh okay, let's see unless you had something disastrous happened
in that first round. But that Yukon Florida game was
high level basketball.
Speaker 3 (06:40):
It was fantastic. A doubt, it was fantastic.
Speaker 2 (06:43):
And and look what we've got, I mean outside of
Saint John's. And I know there's a lot of basketball
still to be played right here in the midst of
our show. It's gonna be great. Oh we got we
get to witness it, we get to watch all this.
But outside of Saint John's what we're looking at in
terms of ones and twos and and you know, Wisconsin
(07:04):
got beat but whatever, like the ones and twos are
in and yes, more need to punch their ticket. Michigan
State needs to win. Alabama looks pretty good, nine point lead,
three minutes to go. Duke is in Auburn, is in
Florida's in Houston's in Tennessee, in like, sorry, Saint John's
(07:27):
that was kind of a bummer, but like, dude, we
got some serious matchups coming next week.
Speaker 6 (07:33):
Yeah, and that's when the you know, that's when the
rubber hits Row. Yeah, right, that's when it was Rubber
meets the Row. Diggos beat you got you, And that's exciting.
You know, most people don't realize that March Madness is
not that long weeks.
Speaker 2 (07:58):
I had one of my kids even asked me because
March was like more than half over, and she's like,
why do they call it March madness. It's like March
twentieth and we haven't started yet, so it's kind of Actually,
it's a good point.
Speaker 3 (08:11):
It ends in April, Yeah it does.
Speaker 2 (08:13):
But yeah, dude, like it. It's here and then it's
gone real fast.
Speaker 5 (08:18):
Two weeks that's it, get it all in.
Speaker 3 (08:22):
Two weeks, will be down to two teams.
Speaker 5 (08:26):
And it's exciting. It's it's exciting.
Speaker 6 (08:30):
It's a great it's a great time for college basketball,
men's and women's. The women's NCAA Tournament is going on
as well, and you want to talk about let's talk
about the ladies for a second.
Speaker 3 (08:43):
These scores.
Speaker 6 (08:46):
Of the what's the problem it's not like the men's side,
the dominance on the top tier team.
Speaker 3 (08:57):
Sure.
Speaker 5 (08:58):
On the women's side, it's not even close.
Speaker 3 (09:03):
It's kind of.
Speaker 2 (09:03):
Been like that for like, you know what I mean,
there's always that, there's it's yukon through the years.
Speaker 5 (09:09):
But so let me just to give you guys.
Speaker 3 (09:12):
Yeah.
Speaker 6 (09:12):
God, So number one seed South Carolina against number sixteen
Tennessee Tech one eight to forty eight. Number three Notre
Dame against Stephen F. Austin, number fourteen one O six
to fifty four. Number five Tennessee against twelve South Florida
(09:36):
not a twelve five upset there, one oh one to
sixty six. I was like, wait, what's happening? I got
one that that crushed me. Here, hold on, let.
Speaker 3 (09:49):
Me crush you.
Speaker 5 (09:51):
Yeah.
Speaker 6 (09:52):
Why Number three LSU against number fourteen San Diego State
one O three to forty eight.
Speaker 3 (10:01):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (10:02):
Yeah, Well, I'm looking at the women's bracket right now,
which also, just like the men's a lot of games
still to go. Some of them are not even today,
they'll be tomorrow, they'll move into the week and whatnot.
But do you know at this hour how many seeds
higher than five have moved into the sweet sixteen on
the women's side, how many none.
Speaker 3 (10:25):
Zippo zip bo.
Speaker 2 (10:28):
The men's doesn't have a whole lot more, right, Arkansas
is in there, and then outside of that bubkiss.
Speaker 3 (10:38):
So Arkansas, congrats.
Speaker 2 (10:39):
You are the only team on either bracket with a
higher seed than five who's major way into the sweet sixteen.
Speaker 3 (10:47):
And it sounds to me like there are some people
out there like this kind of boring.
Speaker 2 (10:51):
I'm like, dude, you want the Atlanta Hawks in the
NBA Finals or something like that.
Speaker 3 (10:57):
What are you asking for?
Speaker 2 (10:59):
Big time basketball is already happening, and I think even
even better games are coming next weekend.
Speaker 3 (11:07):
These are gonna be really, really tough.
Speaker 5 (11:09):
I'll tell you what.
Speaker 6 (11:10):
The game to keep an eye on in terms of
upset is number twelve. Colorado State and Maryland Carlo. State's
playing extremely well. They got point guard stevens Man, who's unreal.
I know him because I watched him in the Mountain West.
That game is at halftime right now. It's thirty seven
to thirty yep, so you know, and in the tournament,
(11:30):
you know, higher ranked teams usually turn it on in
the second half. But this is a game that Colorado
State has had control over it, and it'd be interesting
to see how this team plays out.
Speaker 3 (11:41):
They play very very well.
Speaker 2 (11:43):
They really controlled the game against Memphis, and they're in
their first round matchup too, no doubt.
Speaker 3 (11:48):

radio videos on YouTube. So hold up, my man, hold
up one hundred and forty six points one mm at home, Yeah,
(14:13):
against the Bulls. Embarrassing. Talk to me, man, talk to me, Like,
let's let's and then and then I'll talk to you.
I'll talk to you about the other face of the league.
But like, go ahead, what's come on, let's talk about this.
Speaker 3 (14:27):
Let's be real. Come on, what exactly nobody missing that game?
Speaker 2 (14:33):
That was full strength, that was full strength, that was
all of them all in.
Speaker 6 (14:38):
Uh, they literally didn't show up. It was embarrassing. It
was embarrassing.
Speaker 2 (14:51):
I mean they lost, they lost by They lost by
thirty one points.
Speaker 6 (14:55):
At home to the Bulls, who were in the ninth
spot in the East.
Speaker 2 (15:00):
This is not a good basketball Yeah, there's not a
there's not a good basketball team. Sometimes you just scratch
your head, man, like what is hat? What's going on?
Speaker 3 (15:10):
Well, I.
Speaker 2 (15:12):
Look, it's one game, so, uh, there's that, and obviously
it's Lebron's first game back, and there's a lot going
on within and out with the Lakers. You're in, you're out,
you're out. You're in every night, Like, let's play a
game the next night. Luca can't play? Why nobody knows whatever. Okay,
Like I get it, and so I guess you're gonna
(15:34):
get some herky jerkiness to it. But my my larger
thing has been from the jump when they made the
trade with the Mavericks, my question was defense. It's the
side of the ball that no one ever really talks
(15:55):
about and fans don't even think about. And so for
those of you who don't know what that is. So
when the other team has the ball, the Lakers, they
stay on the floor and they're supposed to attempt to
stop the other team from putting the ball in the basket.
Speaker 3 (16:16):
And look, I don't know.
Speaker 2 (16:18):
I don't know what they're going to do on the interior.
And if a team is hot from the exterior, maybe
this is what it looks like. Maybe it's just one
game and that's a big hold nothing burger. But you
I mean, you tell me, you tell me your level
of concern on this.
Speaker 5 (16:31):
I don't.
Speaker 6 (16:32):
My level isn't high because outside of that game, since January,
the league has been one of the top defensive efficiency
efficient teams in the league. One game doesn't change that,
and so I'm not if it's three, four, or five
games in a row, where they can't stop anybody. I'm
concerned that hasn't been the case. I don't know what
(16:55):
it was having everybody back. I guess trying to get
rotations back and guys back where they belong, and.
Speaker 5 (17:05):
You know, back up to game speed.
Speaker 6 (17:08):
I don't know what. I was watching that game and
I was like, what is happening right now?
Speaker 2 (17:15):
I gotta tell you, man, And this is like Lakers extended.
There are only one of these teams. And I always
hesitate with this because I do not know what is
going on with another dude's.
Speaker 3 (17:28):
Body and what he's feeling. I have no clue.
Speaker 2 (17:31):
And teams are multi billion dollar industries and they run analytics,
and I gotta feel like they're pretty confident that they
know what they're doing, or at least that they're doing
what they're doing for a reason. It doesn't mean everybody
makes a right decision, but I trust that they think
they are they're doing what they're doing for a reason.
(17:53):
But I've been stunned at this Western Conference is all
bunched up.
Speaker 3 (18:00):
Every time you lose a game.
Speaker 2 (18:01):
You're like, well we were the four and now we're
the six, or like now we're we win two games
and now we're the two. Like everyone's flying all over
the place, but a lot of the veteran teams are
just chilling, like they don't even care if they win
these games. Yeah, it's like Lebron, I think was at
(18:24):
least kind of hurt. Has anybody asked the Lakers why
when they play a game and then they play the
next night too, automatically, Luca's out, automatically, Memphis is jah hurt.
I don't know what is really going on with the Nuggets.
Jamal Murray and Nicola jokicch.
Speaker 3 (18:45):
Take a week off whatever. We don't even know when
Yokis is going to be back.
Speaker 2 (18:50):
Steph Curry took an emotional rest day this week, then
came out and got hurt in the next game, and
they lost a game in Atlanta last night. So I like,
again'll y'all have.
Speaker 3 (19:04):
A reason for what you're doing.
Speaker 2 (19:06):
I'm confident in that, But it is it's fascinating that
they're all bunched up and it feels like it's super intense,
except for when they put.
Speaker 3 (19:16):
The lineup card out. Yeah, surprising, that's all it is.
Speaker 6 (19:21):
And you know, we'll see, man, we we got about
what what.
Speaker 2 (19:30):
You largely have about twelve thirteen games to go, yeah,
depending on your schedule.
Speaker 6 (19:34):
Yes, So you know, we'll see how this thing shakes out.
I'm just happy that the Lakers, even with injury, they're
still in the fourth spot, one game out of third,
two games out of second.
Speaker 5 (19:51):
I'm happy about that.
Speaker 6 (19:56):
It's you know, I want to stay away from the
last couple of years been the play situation.
Speaker 3 (20:01):
Oh god, I want no parts of that. You do
not want that.
Speaker 6 (20:05):
And we hold onto that four spot. At least we
get home fill advantage, home court advantage, uh in the
first round. And so look, I'm they're doing what they
need to do, but I hope they can it can
shake out to where they're in the two seed.
Speaker 3 (20:23):
Is there is there anybody you're trying to avoid?
Speaker 5 (20:26):
I don't think so. You don't want to No, No,
I don't think we I don't. I'm not. I don't think.
Speaker 3 (20:35):
No. That could end up being a four or five matchup.
That doesn't bother you.
Speaker 5 (20:38):
No, it doesn't, because the difference is.
Speaker 6 (20:44):
We have a real, bonafide, legitimate shot maker and Luca,
and with him and Lebron combined, you know, you can
get points. And I think that's the difference the Lakers
(21:04):
would go on these droughts, uh, because it was all
on Austin Reeves, was all on Anthony Davis. Anthony Davis
is banging with Luca and it just it, it gave.
They had the advantage. Now with the wing, the size
of our wing defenders. Now you can guard Michael Porter Jr.
(21:25):
Now you can guard what's his name, Aaron Gordon. Now
you can guard these guys, uh and just run people
at at at Nicola Jokicic and put a little size
on Jamal Murray. So I feel better this year about
(21:45):
that matchup, uh than than last year or the previous
three years.
Speaker 5 (21:53):
That's just my feeling.
Speaker 6 (21:54):
Just like I feel, you know, better do it, just
like I feel better about this update, right, this five
thirty update. To me, I'm warm and fuzzy inside, because
that's one Stephen de Sega ready to blow our minds.
Speaker 8 (22:07):
Good evening, gentlemen, good to hear you again.
Speaker 9 (22:10):
And by the way, that Lakers whatever that was last night,
allowing one hundred forty six points, AP said that ties
their most ever allowed in a home game non overtime.
That also allowed in nineteen eighty four one forty six
to the Nuggets, you know, back in an era when
the Nuggets seemingly always scored one forty six. As for
the women's hoops, the late game tonight is number one
(22:31):
UCLA hosting Richmond at ten Eastern time. We did have
some close ones today, as one seed South Carolina trailed
at the half but did eliminate Indiana sixty four to
fifty three. Two seed Duke edged Oregon fifty nine fifty three,
and Kansas State won in overtime against Kentucky eighty to
seventy nine.
Speaker 5 (22:49):
But more on.
Speaker 9 (22:50):
Ephraim's point in a minute. As for the college hoops,
we do have already wins for Kentucky and Alabama tonight's.
Speaker 8 (22:58):
And we had a couple of games earlier.
Speaker 9 (23:00):
But as far as the top four seeds in each
region going undefeated all of them in the first round,
that had happened before five times since tournament expansion in
the mid eighties. What was the record this year the
average margin of victory? It was twenty three points for
the top four seeds in each region in the first
round this past week, which is easily the highest ever.
(23:22):
As for the games in progress, Maryland, a four seed
has just taken the lead on Colorado State forty eight
forty seven with about thirteen and a half minutes to go.
Iowa stayed out to a thirteen to five lead against
Ole Miss. New Mexico is facing two seed Michigan State
within a half an hour. The late game tonight in Seattle,
Oregon versus Arizona Great Pac twelve matchup that we will
(23:44):
never get it.
Speaker 3 (23:45):
Oh what would you call it?
Speaker 8 (23:47):
Yeah, something like that.
Speaker 9 (23:48):
Number one seed Florida came back to beat Yukon seventy
seven seventy five one seed Duke All over Baylor eighty
nine sixty six. The win for two seed Alabama was
eighty to sixty six.
Speaker 3 (23:59):
Again.
Speaker 9 (24:00):
Saint Mary's and Kentucky eliminated Illinois eighty four to seventy five.
Nit turnament Oklahoma State one at SMU. As For the NBA,
most of the games are now final now currently in progress.
The Nuggets are in action and leading seventy five seventy
at Houston mid third quarter so far, twenty four points
(24:20):
for Jamal Murray. The update on Nikola Jokic with the
bad ankle out again for a four straight game, likely
out again Monday, but they say he should return during
the homestand the late game in a half hour, we'll
have the Clippers hosting an Oklahoma City team that's fifty
eight and twelve. Cleveland got back into the wing column
easy victory at Utah. Detroit beat New Orleans one thirty six,
one thirty despite CJ McCollums forty points. Zion Williamson of
(24:44):
the Pelicans was out again with a brus lower back.
Victories for Boston and the Spurs, wins for Atlanta and Miami,
NHL wins for Chicago and Buffalo. Kyle Larson took the
NASCAR race at Homestead Miami. The Indy Car event went
to Alex Polow.
Speaker 5 (24:59):
Dodg.
Speaker 9 (25:00):
Your shortstop Mookie Betts was scratched from the lineup tonight,
starting a three game exhibition series against the Angels. US
soccer has been beaten in LA by Canada two to one.
And as far as the women's hoops that we've seen
of this year's tournament, this is first round action. So
we kind of have mentioned this before, but I'll go
ahead and say it out loud. It reminds me of
(25:22):
the Women's World Cup, where they keep expanding to for example,
thirty two teams. There aren't thirty two good teams. So
I understand you're trying to develop the sport, and that's
what we're seeing in women's hoops. Great the field is
just as large as the men's tournament. We look at
the top twenty five week to week in men's college basketball,
there aren't twenty five good teams.
Speaker 8 (25:42):
For crying out loud.
Speaker 9 (25:43):
Yesterday at one seed USC, the Trojan shot thirty eight
percent from the floor and still won seventy one to
twenty five against UNC Greensboro, which shot thirteen percent from
the floor, won three for the game of fifty four
with twenty three turnovers. That was topped the night before
(26:06):
when Duke won its opening round game eighty six to
twenty five against Lehigh, which shot nine of forty six
from the floor, nine baskets and thirty turnovers in the
forty minute game. And then there was Yukon's game at
home yesterday. The final was one oh three to thirty
four against Arkansas State, which shot seventeen percent from the floor.
(26:31):
Twelve of seventy shooting yesterday for Arkansas State at Yukon
and twenty turnovers and over half their shot attempts were
from three point range.
Speaker 8 (26:40):
Kids, At what point do you.
Speaker 9 (26:42):
Stop taking the lowest percentage shot on the court if
you're not hitting it? Arkansas State was six for forty
from long distance in a forty minute game yesterday and
lost one oh three to thirty four.
Speaker 2 (26:57):
Back to you, the answer is not yeah, that's the answer,
but I'm in. I'm in on those scores. Let me
tell you why, and thank you Steve very much. Tyreck
dot com Studios, Mark Willerty from salam I appreciate this
about women's basketball. What I appreciate is that unlike men's
(27:18):
college hoops and college football, unlike those sports, when blowouts happen,
we don't suddenly freak out and try to fix things.
Speaker 3 (27:30):
You ever notice this?
Speaker 2 (27:31):
This is kind of what I'm getting at off the
top of the show with like, hey, where are my upsets?
To me, is very very like reminiscent of what happens
in college football, where it's like, hey, let's try a
new tournament, let's get let's get this all going, let's
get let's get more teams, get eight teams, let's get
more teams into this whole thing, and then someone will
(27:54):
lose forty two to seven, and we're like see, shouldn't
have been there?
Speaker 3 (28:01):
What are you doing there? But if if if if Lebron.
Speaker 2 (28:08):
James sweeps an NBA finals, or if Kevin Durant joins
the Warriors and they lose one playoff game their entire run,
Nobody's like, can we sit down and fix the sport?
It's not okay. They're too good and the teams that
(28:29):
they're playing should never have been there in the first place. No,
what did you just say? Chicago's record is what are
the bulls? What's the Bulls record? They are thirty one
and forty and guess what they get to do when
the year ends go home? No, they get to try
and work their way into the playoffs.
Speaker 3 (28:49):
They are the nine seed.
Speaker 2 (28:51):
They get to go play two basketball games and possibly
go face Cleveland, And when Cleveland wins in that series
in three and a half games, nobody's gonna be like,
we gotta fix this, we gotta fix this.
Speaker 3 (29:09):
It's okay, it's okay. If the really good teams blow
out the not really good teams. I'm pretty sure that's
the way it's supposed to work.
Speaker 2 (29:20):
It is to work like that, Like I'm okay with it,
Like I famously got into a debate with some people
really close to me a couple of years ago at
one of my daughter's basketball games, and they were only like,
I don't know, the twelve years old or something like that.
Speaker 3 (29:36):
And we do this where it's like, okay, one team
is scoring all.
Speaker 2 (29:40):
Of the baskets, and immediately everyone gets uncomfortable and we
all have to look at each other.
Speaker 3 (29:46):
And go, please tell the good team to stop playing.
Speaker 2 (29:52):
Why what in God's name is that teaching anybody?
Speaker 6 (30:00):
So we we're in our All Stars right now, Valley
Regional All Stars. I'm the All Star coach, and we're
three and zero. We're in the tournament bracket, our first
you know tournament bracket. We had pool play and then
we were at the top seed in our pool. And
(30:21):
then we played our first tournament you know, win or
go home game Saturday, and it was twenty nine to
two okay at halftime okay, And I mean it was
twenty to nothing quick yep. And so we press right.
(30:49):
So my whole mentality is I want to number one.
I'm gonna see if you can handle the ball nine
ten years old. We need to see who can dribble,
and we want to get our work done.
Speaker 5 (31:00):
Early. That's what I tell them now.
Speaker 6 (31:02):
Subsequently, we had a game Thursday, and we were up
twenty seven to three at halftime and kind of took
our foot off the gas.
Speaker 5 (31:13):
A final score ended up being.
Speaker 6 (31:16):
Forty seven to twenty. Okay, so we gave up seventeen
points in the second half. I wasn't okay with that.
We came out without the same energy. So at halftime
on Saturday, I'm like, hey, remember two days ago what
(31:36):
happened the second half when you guys forgot that you
were still in the basketball game?
Speaker 5 (31:43):
Right, Like at.
Speaker 6 (31:45):
Any age, teams tend to let off the gas. Sure, right.
We watched the Lakers, who were they playing? It was
it Denver when they were up by thirty in the
fourth quarter and ended up being only winning by you know,
ten or something like that. You just naturally take your
foot off the gas, of course, and so it's extremely
(32:08):
difficult to for a coach and for players to really
play with that same level of intensity as if it
was a close game. So I say all that to say,
you know, we end up winning, that they turn the
scoreboard off, we end up I think they scored nine
points the second half.
Speaker 5 (32:25):
I think they had eleven. It was forty seventy eleven
at the end of the game. But that's.
Speaker 6 (32:31):
That's the energy you're trying to have. I don't, and
I preached this to them, and I'm sure these coaches,
these these women's coach teams and coaches are saying, I
don't care who play. We have a standard. We're gonna
read our standard, right and if it if we if
(32:52):
we're winning by sixty, then we're gonna win by sixty.
Speaker 2 (32:55):
I mean, I guess the message is if you're struggling
in life, the world will stop it wait for you,
which is a total bss. Okay, And if you're good
at what you do, don't don't be too good.
Speaker 3 (33:08):
It's rude.
Speaker 5 (33:10):
Yeah. No, it's not my job to help you figure
out what's going on with you.
Speaker 3 (33:15):
Yeah, like it's okay to get your butt kicked.
Speaker 6 (33:18):
No, you gotta adjust. Get one of the moms, the
what the parents? My wife told me where the parents?
The lady turned around was like, where where? What park
is it? Where is this park located? It's just a
it's a different standard. My practices are not We're not
(33:43):
doing a lot of horseplay. Good learning the game of
basketball at a level that these nine and ten year
olds can take with them wherever I take. I take
players who played basketball and tournament to basketball players, because
(34:04):
basketball players games travel anywhere, any court, any coach. Your
game travels if you're if you if you're a basketball player,
not just somebody playing basketball. And that's the difference. And
I've explained that to my team, and they're making tremendous strides.
It's an all star team. I say, hey, man, you
all along here, you all belong here. There's no deferring.
(34:27):
It's aggressive, it's anticipation. I mean, I think we had
like nine steals in a row, like the team couldn't
even get past half court. And this is this is
we're in the brackets. This team has earned its right
to be and there playing against us, and so we
(34:48):
just like the next team we play again. On Tuesday,
we win that one we played Thursday, we win that one,
win the championship. On Saturday, we win that We get
a banner. That was the goal. That was the goal.
So you know, that's that's where we are. So when
(35:08):
I'm watching these teams and I'm like, oh, I get
I know what that is. I get that. Yeah, I'm
not gonna let the like, I don't press after twenty.
If I'm up twenty, I'm pulling back. We're gonna work
on some other defensive the league we're in.
Speaker 3 (35:24):
Once the other team is up ten, they're not allowed
to part.
Speaker 5 (35:27):
That's not good. That's an easy that's it, and that's
you can somebody can.
Speaker 3 (35:31):
They can go on.
Speaker 6 (35:32):
They can't run yep, yep, no, And it's it's twenty five,
it's twenty five and all Stars. But I do it
at twenty because I really want to get the guys
uh working on other as sure, sure you know, can
we pick up man and man at half court?
Speaker 5 (35:52):
Can we? Uh? You know?
Speaker 6 (35:54):
Is our three to two and our two three zone working?
Are we communicating? We sliding our feet? Are we anticipating
the pass? And all of those things. It's just different
things you want to work on. So when I'm up twenty,
I feel comfortable of you know, working on some other things,
and I want to run on offensive sets.
Speaker 5 (36:15):
Very few teams that we have offensive sets. We have.
Speaker 6 (36:18):
We have offensive sets at that age, Like we sure
working on things.
Speaker 2 (36:22):
Love it, love it, love it all right with you
from salam Mark Willard, You're not worried about the Lakers.
I'm a little worried about the Warriors, and I'll tell
you why coming up next. And at the top of
the hour, we got to get to those contract extensions
that we warned you last week.
Speaker 3 (36:36):
We're coming for Jamar Chase and t Higgins and.
Speaker 2 (36:39):
Then what happened next that was fun after the contract extensions,
we'll tell you all about it. That's still ahead here
on Fox Sports Radio.
Speaker 1 (36:50):
Don't listening to Fox Sports Radio Radio.
Speaker 2 (36:53):
Okay, We're in the tire rack dot Com studios. And
here's kind of what I'm thinking. Going back to that
Western Conference of the National Basketball Association, Oklahoma City is
going to be the one. Shuston has quietly won nine
(37:15):
games in a row. Yeah, and they're the two. But
they're losing right now to Denver. They're losing on their
own floor by double digits at the start of the
fourth quarter. So we'll see about that. But because Denver
might well move a game closer there and be further
(37:35):
therefore into the three seed you had mentioned it, it
goes Lakers at four, half game back Memphis at five,
two games back Warriors at six, and then a half
game back to the Clippers and Wolves at seven and eight.
Speaker 3 (37:47):
So those are the top eight teams in the West.
Speaker 2 (37:51):
And there's always a lot of talk about Lebron James
and Steph Curry because they're the two faces of the league,
and both of them had high profile acquisitions at the
trade deadline and therefore started playing really good basketball. I
don't know what worries me about the Warriors though, is stamina,
and like it kind of was a big thing this
(38:14):
week when Steph needed a night off and Steve Kerr
was like, I just see you making mental mistakes, so
therefore you need an emotional wellness day basically, And the
wars went out and won the game anyway. But what
went through my head was, well, that's fine on the battle,
but what about the war Like, if it's this exhausting
(38:34):
in March, how are we supposed to believe that the
thirty five plus year olds throw Lebron into this too?
I guess, how are we supposed to believe that they're
going to be able to have the stamina to do
what's necessary to take this into June?
Speaker 5 (38:54):
Yeah, Like, I don't know, you know what I mean.
Speaker 3 (38:58):
I think it's like appropriate skepticism, don't you.
Speaker 6 (39:01):
I do, I do but look, you can't put a
price on veteran leadership. You can't put a price on actually,
you know, being there and getting there as much as
(39:23):
they have. So you hope that comes into play. You know,
the older you get, the tougher. This thing is man
and so Steph puts a lot of miles, puts a
lot of miles on uh on those legs.
Speaker 3 (39:42):
Running around in circles quite a bit, yes.
Speaker 5 (39:45):
So you know, hopefully it shakes out.
Speaker 6 (39:50):
I'd love to see them in the playoffs making a
deep playoff run. Be awesome, be fun to watch. All right,
let's get to some NFL stuff. Aaron Rodgers, T Higgins,
Jamar Chase, all of it is coming up next.
Speaker 1 (40:07):
You're listening to Fox Sports Radio Radio.
Speaker 2 (40:10):
Oh, some of those higher seeds might be heading to
the Sweet sixteen soon. We got a real good one
that we're following down the stretch. Maryland and Colorado State
are trading blows and going back and forth. We're under
three minutes to go. It's Maryland by two, so we'll
keep you up to date on that one. Meantime, Iowa State,
(40:31):
the three seed has been put on notice that's in
the first half, but they're down twelve against Ole Miss
the sixth seed wouldn't be a huge upset by any stretch,
but probably a bracketbuster for some.
Speaker 3 (40:44):
So we'll keep an eye on all of that.
Speaker 2 (40:46):
There's a lot of college ball now and into the
night right here on Fox Sports Radio, we will be
following it all. So glad you're with us broadcasting live
tyreck dot com studios. Tyrack dot com will help you
get there and on that selection, fast free shipping, free
road has a protection in over ten thousand recommended installers.
Tyrock dot com the way tire buykings should be. I
should ask you because when we talked last week and
(41:10):
we were heading into the first four, you were excited
about the opportunity for your as text to take on
North Carolina. That game did not go No, it was awful.
It did not go well. You start with credit for
North Carolina. They did a bunch of stuff they don't
normally do. They just they were draining threes all night
long and so that one got out of hand. But
(41:31):
do you have any sort of a rooting interest now
for any of these teams that are still left.
Speaker 6 (41:37):
I like all the you know, the Mount West teams,
Colorado State New Mexico. I think it's great whenever you
can have a representative of your conference in the Sweet sixteen.
San Diego State has done it the most in that conference.
Although we'll be moving to the Pac twelve pretty soon here,
(41:57):
but yeah, I like to see these two teams move
on to the Sweet sixteen, to have both of them
in there, that'd be a tremendous thing for our conference.
Speaker 2 (42:08):
Okay, New Mexico a passable start against Michigan State.
Speaker 3 (42:11):
That game's underway.
Speaker 2 (42:12):
Five minutes in, they're up by three and Colorado State
has another free throw to see if they can cut
this to two with only a minute and a half
to go. So we'll keep you up to date on
that one because that coming down the stretch right now
as we speak. With that said, can we talk a
little NFL? Yeah, we get we get into this a
little bit because it was so rumored. It was rumored
(42:34):
at such a level that you and I had a
lengthy conversation last week about Jamar Chase and T Higgins
and massive contracts, and I made the comment, and I
stand by it that if the Bengals do this, and
I say, this is not a cap expert who does
not cover the Bengals, But I fear that if they
do what they did end up doing with those two receivers,
(42:55):
they will ruin Joe Burrow's career because his prime is now.
And it's wild to me the messaging that seems to
have missed the Bengals, which is the number one goal
every year is to not have all the fantasy football
players on your team. The number one goals for Joe
brow to not get hurt, That is the number one
(43:15):
And I think it, like, what are we year six
for Joe?
Speaker 5 (43:18):
Receivers aren't going to help them not get hurt?
Speaker 3 (43:20):
Right?
Speaker 2 (43:21):
And and and year six for Joe like he's He's
missed the better part of two seasons already. And the
Bengals have never been known for their offensive line, and
they certainly were not known for their defense.
Speaker 3 (43:32):
Last year, all of these things were bad, and so
to pour these.
Speaker 2 (43:37):
Amounts of resources into these two players, as dynamic and
wonderful as they are, it feels misguided to me.
Speaker 3 (43:48):
What what's what's your take?
Speaker 5 (43:50):
Yeah?
Speaker 6 (43:51):
I don't I think they could have it has been
a better use of the cap in terms of making
their team better. T Higgins is a tremendous talent. But
you can draft a number two receiver. Uh there's a
bunch of them, but you do have to bolster that
offensive line. You also got to really look at the
(44:15):
defensive line. I know, you have your top guy unhappy yep,
Trey Henderson, yep, very unhappy. And so they were, in
my opinion, they were different opportunities for you to really,
you know, put a team together to help you not
start so slow, which has been plaguing him for the
(44:36):
last four years straight.
Speaker 3 (44:37):
Yep, yep, yep, yep.
Speaker 5 (44:39):
And you're not gonna survive.
Speaker 6 (44:43):
Starting oh and four, oh and three, or it's it's
it's too too much of a hole to dig out of.
And so they got to figure something out. I mean,
I mean, I guess they're gonna try to outscore everybody, right,
but if you can't protect Joe Burrow, what's the point?
Speaker 3 (44:59):
When the hell has that ever worked in the NFL?
Speaker 5 (45:02):
When never.
Speaker 3 (45:05):
Like it's mind boggling to me, and I get it.
I understand. This is very alluring.
Speaker 2 (45:12):
Like the fans love wide receivers, quarterbacks, wide receivers, some
running backs, a few tight ends, and a few defensive
stars as far as a fan is concerned.
Speaker 3 (45:31):
That's the league and that's fantasy football. But that just.
Speaker 2 (45:39):
I mean, I understand that Trey Hendrickton is older than
these guys, but to be telling a superstar pass rusher
to go find a trade while you then at the
same time make t Higgins the highest paid number two
receiver in the history of the game, that's malpractice, absolute malpractice.
Speaker 5 (46:02):
I is paid number.
Speaker 3 (46:03):
Two and the highest paid number one. Crazy on the.
Speaker 2 (46:08):
SAE like literally in the same tweet, like you did
it together, and and and then I don't know what you.
Speaker 3 (46:15):
Make of this.
Speaker 5 (46:16):
They like, we're gonna show people we're not cheap, right right.
Speaker 2 (46:19):
Right and then and then t and Jamar apparently immediately
went out and spent half the money.
Speaker 3 (46:27):
I'm exaggerating, but like here, it was just a few days.
Speaker 2 (46:32):
Later and the two of them have a social media
video of them cruising all over Miami at times in
very high speeds in brand new Lamborghinis.
Speaker 3 (46:46):
And I'm not anti fun.
Speaker 2 (46:49):
I don't know that any laws were broken here, Like
I have no issue with any of that in theory,
but again messaging, like I can tell you, as you
just said, you referred to Trey Hendrickson as unhappy. I
bet he's unhappier after this last week than he was
(47:12):
even before. He's watching these two wide receivers get paid
and then they're gonna gallivant all over in brand new
Lamborghini's while he still waits for a new contract. I
just I don't know, man, it does it? It feels
like the Bengals are playing fantasy.
Speaker 3 (47:31):
Football, not real fo.
Speaker 6 (47:35):
Yeah, it's it was shocking. I didn't you know they
would have been better off letting T Higgins go and
if they won't spend money, they could have got a
Davante At like. I mean, there was a market for
receivers second, you know, tier receivers for sure, there was
(47:56):
far less than what they were spending.
Speaker 3 (47:58):
Right, I get it. There's there, There's there's continuity there,
and there's there.
Speaker 2 (48:03):
Right, there's a vibe with Joe Burrow and and and
their connection and and yes he is younger and he's
fantastic and all of those things like that.
Speaker 3 (48:11):
I mean, T Higgins a really, really good player.
Speaker 2 (48:15):
And and maybe they know something about their cap that
that I don't. I don't know what's going on there,
but I can tell you that every football coach I
have ever spoken to. If you're looking at these two things, okay,
these two things, and you're like, which do you want?
(48:37):
You can have a star edge rusher or a number
two wide receiver. That's the most laughable question you'll ever
ask him. That's not even close. The star pass rusher
is more important than the number one receiver. Oh yes,
(48:58):
And it's not close when you're down putting it up
against the number two receiver. And by the way, you
drafted a rookie last year who I thought pretty.
Speaker 3 (49:07):
Much popped ye yose bosh.
Speaker 5 (49:10):
I think like he's a good player, really player.
Speaker 2 (49:16):
Okay, your fancy, I got that. Your fancy. That's that's.
That's about it. Like the Cincinnati Bengals are New Year's Eve,
which is basically an overpriced party.
Speaker 3 (49:32):
With a special menu.
Speaker 5 (49:33):
Yeah, that's it.
Speaker 6 (49:35):
It's it's gonna be interesting to see this Carlidle State
Maryland game is good. Sixty eight, six seventy.
Speaker 2 (49:42):
Yeah, Maryland just hit two free throws with eleven seconds
to go, will have the ball?
Speaker 5 (49:47):
What do you do? We'll tie it.
Speaker 6 (49:51):
I'm gonna I'm gonna, well, look the fact that they're
four for twenty from three, I'm tying the ball.
Speaker 3 (49:55):
I'm gonna tie it.
Speaker 2 (49:57):
I'm gonna tie it, but I'm gonna I'm gonna put
it in the hands of my guy, whoever that is.
Speaker 3 (50:03):
I'm gonna let him create a little bit and I'm gonna.
Speaker 2 (50:05):
Give him some options if he penetrates and they sag
and we leave somebody wide open for a three. Shoot
your shot, shoot it, shoot your shot. You're a twelve seed,
you're Colorado State.
Speaker 5 (50:20):
Where's this going?
Speaker 3 (50:22):
Well?
Speaker 2 (50:23):
And you know what, like, okay, so this tournament is
missing some upsets, right, you know what it's really missing
because I don't need the upsets, But do you know
what everybody loves? Like, there's no signature shot yet, there's
no buzzer beater, right where is the one shining moment shot?
(50:45):
Where's the Brice Drew? Where's the shot? So we got
a chance for it literally right here. And there haven't
been a lot of these games, as Steve said, the
margin of victory has been pretty large, So we have
a lot of these situations.
Speaker 3 (51:02):
So if I got a chance to do it, let's
go go. You know.
Speaker 5 (51:08):
So, yeah, there it is, there, it is there, it
is boom bucket.
Speaker 3 (51:11):
He got it, he got it, He got it. Six seconds,
five bang, six seconds.
Speaker 6 (51:18):
Three point six seconds left, Colorado State up by one.
Speaker 5 (51:21):
They hit the three.
Speaker 3 (51:22):
They did it.
Speaker 6 (51:23):
Drive it baby, driving kicks.
Speaker 3 (51:27):
You acted, It's all you got.
Speaker 5 (51:29):
We got action.
Speaker 3 (51:30):
Okay, we do.
Speaker 2 (51:31):
We got action and the exciting conclusion is coming up next. Also,
Tractor Supply knows that a winning season takes practice, teamwork,
and a can do attitude, kind of like a Colorado
State outside shooter. Thankfully, when you have a neighbor like
Tractor Supply, teamwork comes easy. Whether you're caring for pets, chickens,
(51:52):
a few acres of land. Our team members will help
you succeed season after season. Tractor Supply for life out here,
and be sure order to check out the Tractor Supply
Fox Sports Radio Bracket challenge at Fox Sports Radio dot Com.
I can tell you that one host has Maryland winning
this game. But anyway, see how our hosts are doing
with their picks and who the top ranked listeners are.
(52:14):
Listener with the best bracket at Fox Sports Radio dot
Com is going to win a twenty five hundred dollars
gift card to Tractor Supply. So we'll check out the
end of this one. Next we'll get into the Aaron
Rodgers situation coming up next with e from salam Markward
Fox Sports Radio. Hey, outside, you finish a basketball game
(52:40):
right there?
Speaker 5 (52:40):
Amazing Whooo, that was amazing.
Speaker 3 (52:45):
Wow.
Speaker 2 (52:47):
So Colorado State hits the three, but they left six
seconds on the clock, three seconds left by the time
Maryland got it over the timeline and then boom found
the big fella. He took it in the lane, pull
up bank shot deuces goodness as the buzzer sounded. So
(53:10):
there's your one shotting moment game. Maryland beats Colorado State
by one. That was a basketball game. And then those
of you who want upsets, thought.
Speaker 3 (53:24):
Better better get to a radio or TV because we
got action. We got action in the Let's see which
bracket is this the South?
Speaker 2 (53:40):
The South right now has Michigan State. It's early, but
Michigan State is down by ten against New Mexico eight
minutes to go in the first half, and Iowa State,
as you already mentioned, down by eleven at halftime. Those
are the two three seeds that are in theory scheduled
to play each other next week, but they're both down
(54:03):
by double digits right now, so we may have some
more action still ahead as our show continues to unfold.
Speaker 5 (54:14):
Man, I was good defense, everything was good.
Speaker 3 (54:18):
It was good, It was good. It was really good.
Speaker 2 (54:22):
So yeah, we got two games on right now and
both of them are on upset alert, and then one
more game to go, which will tip off in about
twenty five minutes. And it's, as Steve called it earlier,
a great showdown in the PAC twelve by two teams
who have completely been part of the middle fingers getting
(54:43):
thrown up at the PAC twelve. So Oregon will play
Arizona in a should still be in the PAC twelve showdown.
Speaker 5 (54:56):
Man, I love this is good, man.
Speaker 2 (54:58):
It's good good, And you know why it's good because
the good teams they all won in the first round,
and so now we have more good teams. We got
good teams playing each other, and so that's that's what
we like.
Speaker 5 (55:16):
That's a good point.
Speaker 3 (55:17):
That's what we like.
Speaker 2 (55:18):
If you do like that, you can stream the show
and all of our Fox Sports Radio shows live. Twenty
four to seven new and improved iHeartRadio app. Just search
Fox Sports Radio in the app to stream us live.
One of the newest features in the app is that

presets just like the presets on a radio dow So
be sure to set to preseet Fox Sports Radio in
(55:41):
the iHeartRadio app and it will always pop up at
the top of your screen. This one's kind of interesting,
and I would love to get your thoughts, Aphrom, because
a lot of people are like, where should Aaron Rodgers gould?
Who should want him?
Speaker 3 (55:58):
And there's like this, it's like a competition, right.
Speaker 2 (56:04):
It was the Vikings and now they're out, except for
I don't really believe that they're fully out yet. I
think that they just write. I think they want people
to think that they're out. And then there's the New
York Giants, and then there's the Pittsburgh Steelers, and everyone's like,
where's Aaron gonna go? And I'm like, if I'm running
any of those teams, Aaron would go home.
Speaker 3 (56:28):
That's where Aaron would go.
Speaker 5 (56:30):
You're going home.
Speaker 3 (56:31):
You should go.
Speaker 2 (56:32):
Home because we have other ideas that are way better
than making you our high paid quarterback, especially the Steelers.
But then again, the Steelers I think are kind of stuck.
But what's your read on this? What should he do?
What should they do?
Speaker 6 (56:55):
I understand what the Steelers are trying to do. They're
trying to get somebody in there that they can team
up with. Uh, you know the receivers Pickens and uh Decay.
Not sure where they're gonna do a running back they
(57:16):
lost nausee. I'm sure they'll draft there. But you know,
Pittsburgh has been synonymous with having a great running game.
Uh and at least one, you know, good receiver on
the outside. They're trying to to put themselves in a
position too, to have somebody who can really deliver at
(57:38):
the quarterback position. And the experiment of Justin Fields Russell
Wilson worked to an extent. They're trying to see if
they can get one step better than that to give
them a chance, uh in the turnament in in the playoff.
Speaker 5 (57:53):
Excuse me to to.
Speaker 6 (57:56):
Really, you know, put some pressure on these teams and
they and how do you how do you walk at
a full time MVP? You know, yeah, Uh, you would
have to think we could change it.
Speaker 3 (58:15):
We can.
Speaker 5 (58:16):
It's it's them, not that, it's not him.
Speaker 6 (58:19):
Right when you when you're desperate, you start making decisions
like that, Well, it's it's them, not him.
Speaker 5 (58:25):
In reality is him? I was him in Green Bays
last year there I was him.
Speaker 6 (58:30):
And and and the Jets at the Jets, and so
this is who he is right now. And it's a
situation where they may overpay just for the the opportunity
or the option to test those waters, because the upside
(58:55):
far out ways the downside.
Speaker 5 (58:58):
You've been on the downside.
Speaker 6 (59:00):
Yeah, So they're looking at it like, whoa, if it works,
we get over that hump.
Speaker 5 (59:10):
If it works.
Speaker 6 (59:12):
If not, we'll be five hundred and maybe squeak into
the playoffs.
Speaker 3 (59:19):
Well that's yeah, go ahead, you know.
Speaker 6 (59:21):
And so I get it. I understand that. Me myself,
I'm like, ugh, I don't know. But what are the
other options there?
Speaker 2 (59:29):
You go to me, You just asked the question, and
we're talking about different things depending on where he's gonna go.
So the Minnesota Vikings, for example, now they're coming off
of an unbelievable season and a playoff appearance.
Speaker 3 (59:44):
But Sam Donald doesn't play there anymore.
Speaker 2 (59:46):
You have a first round draft pick already in place,
and you know he's he's a year.
Speaker 3 (59:53):
Removed from the draft even though he never played.
Speaker 2 (59:56):
And so it's like, okay, let's do we want to
bite that forbidden fruit.
Speaker 3 (01:00:02):
Do we think that Aaron can come in and do
what Sam did.
Speaker 2 (01:00:06):
But it's probably also at the detriment or the slow
down of our first round quarterback that we drafted, so
I can get the hesitation there. To me, the New
York Giants is probably where he should end up if
it came down to who should want him, because the
New York Giants are going to be turning something in
(01:00:26):
some form over to a young player, but that player
is probably not going to be fully ready, and you're
also not expected to win. But Aaron does make you
more interesting. He makes you more interesting. There's no pressure
to win right away, and maybe it buys you some time,
whether a rookie quarterback, whether it's Shadoor or anyone else
(01:00:50):
from the Steelers of the interesting one, because I don't
think that will work. I think it's an absolute implosion,
but I sort of think you have to try because
if you don't, I'm sorry.
Speaker 3 (01:01:07):
Who the hell's the quarterback of the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Speaker 2 (01:01:12):
You are the Pittsburgh Steelers, and you find a way
to go to the playoffs every year. Lamar Jackson and
Joe Burrow in your division and probably the two largest
and biggest personalitied wide receivers in the world are both
on your team, and you have to have an answer
(01:01:32):
for that question of who's your quarterback? So I'd love
to know what's the other option for the Steelers. They're
the only ones who can't answer that.
Speaker 6 (01:01:44):
Yeah, you know it's it's it's a tough one, right,
Not a lot there to work with, not a lot
out there.
Speaker 5 (01:01:54):
To choose from, and so you're stuck in this this
what do we do? You know? What what do we do?
Speaker 6 (01:02:05):
Like I said, They're gonna roll the dice, just like
I'm going to roll this over to Stephen craps table
the sager for this.
Speaker 5 (01:02:14):
Uh, shake him up, Shake him up, shake him update.
Speaker 8 (01:02:17):
We are all still shaken after that finish.
Speaker 3 (01:02:19):
In the tour.
Speaker 5 (01:02:20):
Unbelievable.
Speaker 1 (01:02:21):
Woo.
Speaker 9 (01:02:22):
We had a chance at a Butzer beater tonight if
you weren't with us, because Colorado State had taken the
late lead against the four seed Maryland Terrapins on a
three pointer seventy one seventy. Maryland called time out in
the front court about four seconds left.
Speaker 8 (01:02:38):
Then the inbound gets it up top.
Speaker 3 (01:02:40):
Two queens rippling left, big step down the lane runner
for the wind.
Speaker 5 (01:02:43):
Bagat Maryland is won.
Speaker 1 (01:02:49):
Maryland is going to the Sweet sixty.
Speaker 9 (01:02:52):
Westward one with the call Ryan Radkey seventy two to
seventy one terps the final. Maryland is off to San
Francisco for the West Regional semis on Thursday night against
one seed Florida, which started the day with its narrow
win eliminating Yukon seventy seven to seventy five. By the way,
the other Sweet sixteen game in the Bay Area Thursday
Arkansas against Texas Tech. So in the West region we've
(01:03:15):
got Florida and Maryland wins today. In the East region,
one seed Duke advanced eighty nine sixty six over Baylor.
The late game will be in Seattle Arizona against Oregon
coming up within a half an hour. Two Sea Alabama
advanced eighty to sixty six over Saint Mary's. Kentucky eliminated
Illinois eighty four seventy five. And in the South Region,
(01:03:37):
we've got a couple of games going on right now.
Halftime Ole Miss leads forty to twenty nine on three
seed Iowa State and two seed Michigan State is still
trailing New Mexico late first half Lobos twenty nine twenty two.
Two late games in the NBA. The Nuggets are holding
on one oh nine one oh five at Houston with
(01:03:57):
under a minute ago. Jamal Murray thirty six points as yes,
he's out again. Nicola Jokich is missing a fourth straight
game with an ankle injury, and he's likely out tomorrow
as well. His team says Jokich should return during their
upcoming homestand.
Speaker 8 (01:04:12):
Late first quarter late game.
Speaker 9 (01:04:14):
Clippers lead twenty six twenty two on the thunder Oklahoma
City with a record of fifty eight and twelve. Cleveland's
record now fifty seven and fourteen. It's Cleveland a winner
easily at Utah today one twenty to ninety one. The
Cavs had lost four straight. Detroit had a late scratch
from Keg Cunningham due to a sore calf, but still
beat New Orleans one thirty six, one thirty despite forty
(01:04:37):
points from c J McCollum. Zion Williamson of the Pelicans
was out again with the bruce lower back New Orleans
from three point range twenty for forty and still lost
the game. Victory's on the road for Boston and San Antonio.
Wins at home for Atlanta and Miami for the Heat
Andrew Wiggins forty two points in a win against Charlotte
one twenty two one oh five. Wiggins was sixteen of
(01:04:58):
twenty one from the Steph Curry after his fall this
past week a pelvic contusion. Reportedly going to be joining
Golden State on the road this week Tuesday the Warriors.
Jimmy Butler is back in Miami. Friday, Golden States at
New Orleans. Demantis Sabonis of Sacramento was upgraded to questionable
for Monday after a sprained ankle. He did practice today.
(01:05:20):
Anthony Edwards of Minnesota is questionable for Monday with a
thumb injury. Anthony Davis of the Mavericks doubtful for Monday.
He's missed six weeks with his groin injury. Kyrie Irving
is out with a torn acl Tuesday. It's Dallas at
New York for the next Jalen Brunson out at least
another week with his sprained ankle. He's missed eight straight games.
Victor Hovland was the golf winner in Florida. Kyle Larson
(01:05:42):
took the NASCAR race at Homestead, Miami. But we have
a hero and Maryland advances in March Madness, Guys, the
high school basketball team in the nation. Last year, they
went a perfect thirty three and zero and they were
declared national champs Montvert Academy. They had a mong the roster.
These players literally just one year ago, all together on
(01:06:04):
a high school team. Guard Robert Wright, who played in
March Madness today for Baylor, and he played against his
high school teammate Cooper flag Duke, superstar six foot nine.
Also on the team six foot ten Derek Queen, who
just hit the game winner tonight for the Maryland Terrapins.
Speaker 8 (01:06:21):
He is from Baltimore.
Speaker 6 (01:06:23):
Back to you, what in the whoa? Yeah, no, wonder
they didn't lose a game, right, Hey? Three lottery picks?
Speaker 3 (01:06:32):
Who say that again?
Speaker 9 (01:06:36):
Oh they're not the only Division one guys off that team,
but three of them played today in the NCAA tournament.
Speaker 3 (01:06:42):
Oh my goodness. Strong, very very strong, yeah too going
to the Sweet sixteen.
Speaker 5 (01:06:48):
You have no stronger?
Speaker 2 (01:06:49):
Yeah strong, kind of like uh Steve de Sager's updates.
Speaker 5 (01:06:52):
Always strong, yeah, very very strong powerful.
Speaker 3 (01:06:56):
Tyrack dot com Studios. Mark Whelard from salam Okay.
Speaker 2 (01:07:00):
I don't feel like we're done with the uh that
uh that Aaron Rodgers thing yet, So like what the
Steelers are like, Oh, we had a nice meeting. What
are you actually gonna do? Steelers? What options do you have?
Speaker 5 (01:07:19):
Not a lot of options. It's not it's not a
lot out there.
Speaker 2 (01:07:22):
And can someone explain to me why Russell Wilson is
not an option?
Speaker 6 (01:07:28):
I think he is. I think he's the last ditch option.
Speaker 3 (01:07:31):
Why was it that bad?
Speaker 6 (01:07:33):
But I think the way it ended, in a way
it trailed off for whatever reason, got them like scratching
their head like maybe this maybe we don't run this back.
Speaker 5 (01:07:47):
But that's crazy.
Speaker 3 (01:07:48):
You know.
Speaker 2 (01:07:53):
Yeah, I'm I'm not saying it's a great option either,
but you know you said kind of like, Okay, the
way that it the way that it trailed off, I
get it.
Speaker 6 (01:08:08):
I think another year under the system, with the added weapon,
you got to do something about the running game, show
up that offensive line a little bit.
Speaker 5 (01:08:19):
I think it else will be fine there.
Speaker 2 (01:08:21):
I mean, look, so they lost four in a road
in the regular season and then lost in the first
round of the playoffs, right, so they were that was
a ten and three football team, and then they never
won another football game. Then again, if I say it
to you a different way, does it sound a little
different at Philly at Baltimore, home to Kansas City, home
(01:08:43):
to Cincinnati at Baltimore.
Speaker 6 (01:08:46):
Yeah, that's tough, living good lord, Right, there's a lot
of teams that would have lost those.
Speaker 2 (01:08:52):
Four right, like these are those are Those are as
hard of games as the NFL has to offer.
Speaker 3 (01:08:58):
So look, I get it if you're out on.
Speaker 2 (01:09:01):
Russell Wilson at this point in his career and with
how things went last year, fine, But man if I
if I'm running an NFL team in twenty twenty five,
one thing I Am not going to do is let
Aaron Rodgers hold me hostage.
Speaker 3 (01:09:16):
No, And like, so there's got to be there's got
to be a plan B.
Speaker 2 (01:09:22):
And I would feel like the guy who was just
in your system and just led you to the playoffs,
you know, I would think that's an option.
Speaker 5 (01:09:36):
It has to be an option.
Speaker 6 (01:09:38):
There are no other options, right they well, they waid it,
and you know it's everybody's gobbled up and now it's
you know, draft time. You got to move a long
way up in the draft to get somebody. But do
you want to do that again? Didn't we just do it?
Speaker 5 (01:09:56):
George? What was it? What was the name? What was
the quarterback's name pickings Picket.
Speaker 3 (01:10:02):
Who you're talking about? You're talking about the Steelers for
the Steelers.
Speaker 5 (01:10:06):
Kenny Pickett, Canny Pickett.
Speaker 3 (01:10:08):
Yeah, Kenny Pickett. You know which I mean?
Speaker 2 (01:10:10):
If you dropped a quarterback whose last name is Pickett,
my good lord, Like, what are we doing?
Speaker 3 (01:10:15):
Should have known?
Speaker 5 (01:10:16):
Maybe if he was a corner?
Speaker 3 (01:10:17):
Thank you?
Speaker 2 (01:10:18):
There you go, they should switch him. Yeah, they should
move him. They should move him, like, uh.
Speaker 3 (01:10:25):
Who's my man?
Speaker 2 (01:10:26):
The uh, the power hitting outfielder who strikes out every
single time, who now decides he wants to pitch?
Speaker 4 (01:10:32):
Oh yeah, yeah, move it, Joey Gallo, Sure, just corner.
Speaker 5 (01:10:38):
I'm just this has been all wrong for me.
Speaker 3 (01:10:44):
Yeah, I know, I don't. I don't think the draft
is an option?
Speaker 2 (01:10:48):
Do Do we believe that Kirk Cousins is actually staying
in Atlanta?
Speaker 5 (01:10:54):
That's an expensive option, it is.
Speaker 3 (01:10:56):
But there's probably a way to work on that.
Speaker 2 (01:10:59):
Like if I would imagine that Atlanta would would probably
pay some of that deal.
Speaker 6 (01:11:04):
Yeah, I agree with that, But then again, what you
look at is all right, the way Kirk Cousins faltered
down the stretch, the way Aaron Rodgers was playing better
down the stretch, and then the cachet of having a
four time MVP opposed to someone who made a bunch
(01:11:25):
of money but never quite got over the hump.
Speaker 3 (01:11:28):
Yeah, what do you like?
Speaker 5 (01:11:30):
No, I like, that's why I have to pay him more.
Speaker 2 (01:11:33):
I'm with you, Like, that's why I'm saying that about
the Steelers.
Speaker 3 (01:11:36):
It's like, no, what I want him? No?
Speaker 2 (01:11:39):
But I but but yes, because I don't think there's
a better choice. And you're the Steelers, So you can't
go out there. You can't go out there with Mason Rudolph.
Speaker 3 (01:11:48):
We're not doing that. We're not doing that.
Speaker 5 (01:11:52):
No, you can't. It's just a waste of time.
Speaker 2 (01:11:55):
Right right, So yeah, like that's that. It's kind of
that's how I see it.
Speaker 3 (01:12:02):
I think it's a fit because it has to be,
not because it's a great fit. So all right, Mark.
Speaker 2 (01:12:12):
Willerty from salam And coming up next, the question has
come up about who should be the NBA Defensive Player
of the Year, and apparently the odds have flipped as
of this weekend, so we'll get into that a little bit.
Speaker 3 (01:12:29):
And then coming up at the top of the hour,
not a.
Speaker 2 (01:12:34):
Baseball discussion as much as it is a media question
about the way your favorite or not favorite sports are
being covered. We're going to get into all of this,
and obviously we'll be watching these two games that are
on upset alert come down the stretch because by the way,
(01:12:54):
Old Miss, by the way, this might not be very dramatic.
Old Miss is pulling away from Iowa's date. Meantime, Michigan
State starting to make their move late first half, so
we'll keep an eye there as well.
Speaker 3 (01:13:06):
On Fox Sports Radio.
Speaker 2 (01:13:09):
Mark Willardy from salam tyraq dot com Studios.
Speaker 3 (01:13:13):
I'm not the guy to get into a hotly contested
debate about awards.
Speaker 2 (01:13:21):
We have that host already on Fox Sports Radio. His
name's Steve Hartman.
Speaker 3 (01:13:28):
If you would like to argue about somebody's Hall of
Fame candidacy or who should win the Heisman, Steve will
be with you for as many hours as you can talk.
And I love him for that, so right like he
(01:13:49):
always like.
Speaker 2 (01:13:52):
Who used to get mad at me? Because I'm like, dude,
just let them all in the Hall of Fame. I
don't care. It's a museum. Like if there's one thing
in life I will never lose sleepover, it's because some
two ninety nine career baseball hitter, like didn't have enough
big moments for me, Like what go to the Hall
(01:14:14):
of Fame. You're awesome, it's amazing. Less than twenty thousand
humans ever played Major League baseball. If you're one of
the best of them, Good on you. Pat on the butt.
Here's your statue. I don't care. I just don't. I mean,
we can sit here and talk about it, but it's
never going to be something that gets under my skin.
(01:14:35):
So same thing here.
Speaker 3 (01:14:37):
Defensive Player of the Year in the NBA. Draymond Green
started bringing this up because.
Speaker 2 (01:14:46):
In a game that Steph Curry sat out, Yannis came
to town on Tuesday night here in the Bay Area
and Draymond locked him up, like just completely locked him up.
He had five field goals the entire game, and none
of them came against Draymond Green. He literally locked him up.
He couldn't score on him. And we're talking about Jannis,
(01:15:10):
who averages over thirty a game and is built out
of granite rock.
Speaker 3 (01:15:16):
Couldn't score on him.
Speaker 2 (01:15:17):
So this conversation got going and Draymond is into it,
Like right, Draymond does not hold back ever, and he
thinks that he deserves the award and just talking about
it has sort of suddenly changed the odds, and I
guess he became the favorite today over Evan Mobley. Draymond
(01:15:38):
would freely admit, like Victor wembin Yama is going to
win that award, but then he got hurt and he's
not eligible for it. Draymond's only got one in his career.
For example, someone like Rudy Gobert has four. Draymond Green
is a better defensive player and a better player period
than Rudy Gobert. But what Rudy does that Draymond. He
(01:16:00):
puts up a stat and you need a stat. You
either need a lot of block shots or a bajillion rebounds,
and quite frankly, neither of those is really the phrase
that pays when it comes to defending. What Draymond does
really well and others like him does not show up
at all in a stat category. There's no way to
(01:16:23):
measure it. So what do you do? What do you think?
Because I know you're a student of the game, and
if you watch what that man does at six six
on a good day, oh, it's easy, it's but n
that is what he does.
Speaker 6 (01:16:39):
Yeah, I mean, you know, asks Lebron James asks any
of the great scores. Ask Kevin Durant, it doesn't matter,
ASKI Honis Now, it doesn't matter. Draymond Green is always
locked in defensively. So I'm I'm on his side when
it comes to that. You know, I not necessarily a
fan of Rudy Gobert winning for a from period. Like
(01:17:01):
to me, that's a head scratches same same, Uh, So
you know, I'm I'm all.
Speaker 5 (01:17:08):
I'm with that.
Speaker 6 (01:17:09):
You know, I'm with that Draymond Rant because he is
a dynamic defender and one of the best in the
league and has been since he's been in the league.
Speaker 3 (01:17:18):
Like, here's the problem. The problem is he averages double
figures in nothing.
Speaker 2 (01:17:25):
Yeah, it's fine. And here's the other problem. It averages
a block.
Speaker 3 (01:17:32):
A block. Yeah, he's sixty six one block per game
and even his rebounds are down this year, he averages
six point two.
Speaker 6 (01:17:41):
You guys have to do is what the people he guard?
What is they're scoring average when they when he guards them?
There you go, if you want to put a metric
in a number to it, figure that out and then
you'll have your answer.
Speaker 2 (01:17:53):
Well, I mean, it's kind of head scratching to be
in with that this is even something that like I
don't really I don't really get how he does what
he does. There's such brilliance there that, like, I love
your point, Go ahead and ask the players, Yep, do
(01:18:14):
you want to know who will tell you that he's
probably the most difficult to play against when he's doing
what he's doing offensively. Nicola Jokic, Yes, will tell you
that Draymond Green is the hardest person for him to
go against. And it's crazy because Nicola Jokic, Dude, he's
(01:18:36):
got like I mean what he's got like seven inches
and probably seventy pounds on Draymond Green. But there's such
a sort of a mental brilliance to what he does.
And he's also the quarterback for the entire team on defense. Yeah,
if he finished his career with only one defensive Player
(01:18:58):
of the Year awards, that's pretty crazy, to be honest with.
Speaker 6 (01:19:01):
You, I agree with that. Yeah, tremendous talent, man. I mean,
they don't win those championships with Draymond Green.
Speaker 3 (01:19:09):
Nope.
Speaker 5 (01:19:10):
Period.
Speaker 2 (01:19:11):
That's the fact I a Wowa State. It's going to
lose tonight, aphrom They are down by nineteen with twelve minutes.
Speaker 5 (01:19:21):
To go, Yeah, well there's a three out, so.
Speaker 2 (01:19:24):
There's the end of them. Although you know, crazier things
have happened, but not much. Arizona, Well, they're just getting underway.
And Oregon Michigan State is down by two and half.
That's the one I think we need to take a
look at. Someone who you talk to a lot, has
Michigan State in the final game in their bracket. Yeah,
(01:19:51):
it's all good, it's all good.
Speaker 3 (01:19:53):
All right.
Speaker 2 (01:19:53):
Uh, let's get in the way these sports are being
packaged to you next no Fox Sports FO. Here we
go into the night and the madness is on and
all turned up. When we're broadcasting live from the ti
rag dot com studios ti rag dot com. We'll help
you get there at unmad selection, fast free shipping, free
(01:20:15):
road hazard protection, and over ten thousand recommended installers tyrag
dot com the way tire buying should be.
Speaker 3 (01:20:23):
Okay. So here's what we're doing tonight, same thing you're
all doing.
Speaker 2 (01:20:27):
We're sort of talking about one thing but watching another
and keeping an eye on all of it at the
same time. So we are going to keep you fully
up to date on everything that is happening in the
NCAA tournament. Oregon is often an amazing start against Arizona.
They're already up twenty one to seven, and it's one
(01:20:49):
of those games where it just looks like one of
the team is playing harder than the other team. That's
literally what it looks like in this one. I don't
know if you have that one on in there, Ephraim.
Speaker 6 (01:20:58):
You know I got all the games, Okay, okay, so
you don't play yourself.
Speaker 3 (01:21:02):
You know, I like I assume.
Speaker 6 (01:21:06):
Yeah, Oregon is clicking, man, they're hitting on all cylinders.
They're playing like, Hey, we used to play all and
run through you guys, right, all right, you guys used
to run through us, and now this.
Speaker 2 (01:21:15):
Is payback, right right, Yeah, this is this is not
loud Olson's Arizona Wildcats. But long, long, long way to
go in that one, and it has the look of
a fast paced and a high scoring game.
Speaker 3 (01:21:28):
So we'll see.
Speaker 2 (01:21:30):
I think largely people are starting to give up on
the idea of Iowa State moving forward.
Speaker 3 (01:21:37):
They remain down now by twenty one with under ten
minutes to go.
Speaker 5 (01:21:41):
Yeah, it's not getting any better against.
Speaker 2 (01:21:43):
Ole Miss and then take a break Michigan State. But
the stress is high. They are down two to the
ten seed New Mexico at halftime.
Speaker 3 (01:21:53):
Keep you up to date on all and we're watching
that meantime.
Speaker 2 (01:21:59):
I wanted to throw this at you and find out
where you come from on this, because I think this
is interesting.
Speaker 3 (01:22:05):
And this is just one example.
Speaker 2 (01:22:08):
But ESPN dot com, if you go to their main page,
and anybody's familiar with it knows you go to the
it's just like any page. Across the top bar are
all the pulldown menus. And on a sports site, what's
across the top bars all the sports right go to
(01:22:31):
foxsports dot com, you go to cbssports dot com.
Speaker 3 (01:22:35):
You go there and it's like, what are you here for?
You want to check out some NFL stories, NBA stories,
Couge football stories, what do you want?
Speaker 2 (01:22:44):
Well, if you go to ESPN dot com, here's what's
across the top bar.
Speaker 3 (01:22:51):
The very first one is PGA Tour. What the PGA Tour?
Speaker 2 (01:23:01):
Then the NFL, then the NBA, then it says NHL,
then it says n C A A M for men,
then it says n C A A W for women,
and then it's a soccer and then after that it
(01:23:21):
says more sports. In other words, the dollar bin is
over here at the end, if you'd like to shop
for the others receiving votes categories, what do you notice
is missing.
Speaker 5 (01:23:41):
The tournament?
Speaker 3 (01:23:42):
Well, that's kind of under n C A A M
and n C A A W.
Speaker 2 (01:23:47):
If you if you go to one of those tabs,
we'll pull down menu and the bracket and the tournament
and all of that stuff.
Speaker 3 (01:23:54):
Is n B A n B A is there?
Speaker 5 (01:23:59):
Uh? Baseball?
Speaker 3 (01:24:01):
Major League baseball?
Speaker 2 (01:24:06):
Major League Baseball falls into the more sports category.
Speaker 5 (01:24:10):
Okay, the season hasn't started now, that that.
Speaker 2 (01:24:16):
Might be it, but oh my god, oh my god, Like,
is that what we're hiding behind? Actually, if I really
want to get technical with you, yes, it has. Dodgers
and Cubs don't play two games already. Okay, so the
season has started and opening day is this week, And
(01:24:39):
if you would like to hide behind, if you're ESPN
that the season hasn't started yet, you could do that.
Speaker 3 (01:24:47):
You could do that.
Speaker 2 (01:24:47):
I guess I don't know how you play it by seasons,
Like one of their tabs says, soccer Soccer.
Speaker 3 (01:24:54):
Is never, They're never not playing somewhere.
Speaker 2 (01:24:58):
Soccer, all right, we all damn well know why it's
not up there. It's not up there because ESPN is
ending their partnership with Major League Baseball, so is ESPN, Fox, CBS,
anything Yahoo. Are they just businesses that are allowed, in
(01:25:22):
your mind, to simply promote their products and put that
out there with you their partners or is there some
sort of a responsibility to be a platter that puts
everything out there for everybody especially considered and this is data,
(01:25:43):
not my opinion, but data based on fan attendance, eyeballs, etc.
No matter what you think about the quote downfall or
downturn of it, in this moment in America, major League
Baseball remains.
Speaker 3 (01:26:00):
Is the number two sport a doubt, and not me.
Speaker 2 (01:26:06):
Obviously, NFL is number one obviously. Okay, how's that got you?
The fact that it's the number two sport? I get yeah,
I get that. I mean it's it was America's pastime.
It's no longer that it's football now, just by the
(01:26:29):
sheer amount of games that's played. I understand that far
too many, I believe. But you know, this is the
sweet spot of the NBA coming down the stretch in
terms of.
Speaker 5 (01:26:48):
UH, when people really start tuning in.
Speaker 6 (01:26:52):
UH. But you know baseball is playing when no one
else is playing. So all of those numbers, all that,
all those metrics help that that number. Okay, you gotta remember, No,
everybody's done and baseball is going.
Speaker 2 (01:27:08):
It's a relatively short period of time during baseball season
when nothing else is actually happening. I mean, the NBA
season is not over until the end of June. So
you get July, you get you get July, June, July
or julyly well August. Sure, but let me ask you this.
See you think when training camps open for the NFL,
(01:27:34):
ESPN will leave the tab off because you know season
hasn't started yet.
Speaker 5 (01:27:41):
No, that's the bread and butter man.
Speaker 3 (01:27:42):
There you go.
Speaker 2 (01:27:43):
In fact, the season for the NFL is completely over
and they are the second tab right now.
Speaker 5 (01:27:48):
Of course.
Speaker 6 (01:27:48):
Okay, a lot of transactions, free agency, draft exactly. The
NFL has found a way to make it year round.
Of course, it's interesting year round.
Speaker 2 (01:27:59):
So this isn't about anyone's opinion about what's cool in
twenty twenty five. I'm with you, baseball's got a lot
of work to do if they want to move into
the next generation.
Speaker 3 (01:28:14):
They've got a lot of work to do. That is
very evident. At the same.
Speaker 2 (01:28:17):
Time, I would argue that a media company's job is
not to sort of solely promote what is making that
media company money. I would argue that's not the case,
and that may come across as hypocritical, just to let
(01:28:40):
our national audience know, like on a weekly basis, where
I work Monday through Friday is at the flagship home
of the Golden State Warriors. And if something's going on
with the Warriors, you damn well better believe we are
talking Warriors and only Warriors. And this time of year,
that's super easy. Don't play the Giants don't play, and
(01:29:03):
quite frankly, other sports outlets throughout the Bay Area don't.
They don't resonate enough the Sharks, et cetera. So it
is like ninety five percent Golden State Warriors. And is
that sort of self serving for our company as a
media company. Maybe, But to me, here's the difference. The
difference is is we feel like what we do on
(01:29:26):
a daily basis is try to assess what our audience
is thinking about and what our audience wants to hear
about on a given day, and whatever that is, we
go with that. And sometimes it's not Warriors and we
talk about something else. That's going on Niners free agency,
(01:29:46):
or the tournaments or the Giants or whatever whatever's going on,
that's what we're going to talk about. I'm not gonna
sit there and be like, Nope, theant giants don't exist,
because that doesn't make any more money for our media company.
Speaker 3 (01:30:03):
Look, I'm not losing sleep over this.
Speaker 2 (01:30:08):
But it's a fast one and it's disingenuous, and it's
a small thing that I think can be a large
thing someday down the road for media companies. Don't don't
don't don't stop like reporting on, don't stop putting out
there at least for people to see the second most
(01:30:30):
popular sport in America just because you're sort of like
mad at it right.
Speaker 3 (01:30:35):
Now, which is what it feels like.
Speaker 6 (01:30:37):
Yeah, you know, when you get into that level of business, man,
it's it's crazy, it's it's you know, NBC was mad
at the NBA forever until they just got it back. Literally,
I know that firsthand. So it's, uh, the money talks, man,
(01:31:04):
everything else walks. Oh, missus pointed on they are not playing.
Speaker 3 (01:31:10):
Yeah, that's not happening. You know, Like I don't know,
on some level, I feel like.
Speaker 2 (01:31:17):
We've accepted that idea too much. I know that's hard
to fight money talks the rest walks. I get that,
but I don't think that. I don't think this, something this.
Speaker 3 (01:31:30):
Small is actually tied to money. You can have a
Major League Baseball tab on your website. It's okay, It's
totally okay.
Speaker 2 (01:31:45):
You know, if I go to cbssports dot com, do
you want to know what's up on theirs? Do you
wonder what tabs are there? What NFL? These are the
names of the tabs, NFL brackets, NCAA basketball, NCAA Women's basketball,
NBA MLB period, no hockey, no golf, no nothing else.
(01:32:09):
Now tucked into that, are they being self serving by
putting out brackets because they're CBS they have the tournament,
so yes, they're promoting their own thing. But they didn't
take baseball out because they don't have baseball and they
don't They left it in there because it's the second
sport in America. Instead, they left out the PGA Tour
(01:32:31):
because that sport right now can't even keep its own
athletes in the league. And shout out to fifteen minutes
from now when Steve de Seger will blow our minds
because of something golf related, because that's what he does.
Speaker 3 (01:32:46):
It's seven thirty Pacific every Sunday.
Speaker 5 (01:32:53):
See what I'm saying I do.
Speaker 2 (01:32:54):
Yeah, all right, we'll check in on those those late
games because Arizona kind of stood up for themselves here
in the last handful.
Speaker 3 (01:33:05):
Of minutes that one's threatening to be a good one.
Speaker 2 (01:33:08):

(01:34:32):
or tied Arizona.
Speaker 3 (01:34:34):
Has rallied to get within four. What do you see
in these two?
Speaker 6 (01:34:38):
It's gonna be a dogfight. I mean, Arizona went on
a heck of a run. Oregon, you know, stepped out
a little bit more. But this this Michigan State New
Mexico game. Man, this is gonna be a fight the
whole time.
Speaker 3 (01:34:57):
You think so, yeah, you think New Mexico is up
for this.
Speaker 5 (01:35:00):
I think they are. I think they are.
Speaker 6 (01:35:02):
I think it's gonna be one of those fights like
we just saw, you know, uh, Colorado State and Maryland.
Speaker 5 (01:35:11):
But that's what we need. We need these games.
Speaker 3 (01:35:13):
Yeah, I mean we.
Speaker 5 (01:35:15):
Don't want the old miss Iowa State game.
Speaker 6 (01:35:18):
Uh no, eighty thirty to sixty six right now with
three don't want that seconds left?
Speaker 3 (01:35:22):
Yeah no, I mean Michigan State could be up by
a few points. I'd be okay with that, you.
Speaker 5 (01:35:26):
Know, I'm sure. I know. Well, you don't want a
close game?
Speaker 3 (01:35:33):
No, yeah, no, fun game is fine, But I ain't
need to be that stressful, you know. That's all I'm saying.
That's all I'm saying.
Speaker 2 (01:35:42):
Speaking of stress, you guys to help me, man like
I don't understand what's happening. So you know, some garbage
time in the Laker game the other day. Yeah, and
Branni came in and score seventeen points.
Speaker 5 (01:35:58):
He played, well, yeah, go for him.
Speaker 3 (01:36:00):
That's awesome. That's awesome.
Speaker 2 (01:36:02):
So now apparently anybody, there's two things that went crazy
for me. First of all, you had stephen A and
others who have been in some way critical of the
Brownie James situation at any point, all coming out to
do the I was wrong thing. I'm like, hold on
(01:36:26):
a second, so something something can look a certain way
like twenty seven times. And then on the twenty eighth
it looks different and you go, oh, okay, then that's
the real thing. He hit a few buckets in the
(01:36:47):
garbage time of a basketball game. Does somebody owe somebody
an apology?
Speaker 3 (01:36:52):
Here?
Speaker 5 (01:36:53):
We know what the steven A apology was, we know
what happened.
Speaker 3 (01:36:57):
Okay, I hear you, I'll feel you on that.
Speaker 5 (01:37:02):
Let's be real.
Speaker 2 (01:37:03):
So then let's take that conversation to a real place.
Before this even happened. And I don't have the direct
quote in front of me, but Brianni was quoted with
something along the lines of guys, I'm a human being,
like I've got feelings, and I was.
Speaker 3 (01:37:23):
Like, what the hell is happening? How did we get here?
Speaker 2 (01:37:37):
When was it considered personal at the highest levels of
professional sport the Lakers. When was it considered personal that
people would talk about a player, assess a player, say
things that maybe the player doesn't want to hear, you know, analyze, analysts,
(01:38:04):
analyzing and sometimes being right and sometimes being wrong for
better or for worse. I mean, we went from daddy
house to walk across the court to attack the media
person to the only thing that I think could make
him look even weaker, which is to let him talk
(01:38:27):
and be like, guys, I'm a person. I mean, you
tell me seventh round draft pick. Anybody ever tell you
weren't good enough?
Speaker 5 (01:38:38):
Yeah?
Speaker 3 (01:38:40):
Yeah, man, of course and they were wrong.
Speaker 5 (01:38:42):
Of course. Obviously.
Speaker 2 (01:38:47):
This whole thing is the most confusing sports story I've
ever seen in my life.
Speaker 3 (01:38:51):
I'm not kidding, Yeah, I think.
Speaker 6 (01:38:54):
Look, I was excited for Briann to get in the
game when he got into the game, and then the
only thing I've ever wanted to see from Brian is
to number one, shake off the nerves. It's a lot
of pressure for a kid, sure who may or may
not be ready, but to just we know he can
play basketball. But he was out there and it wasn't
really didn't look like he was comfortable playing basketball. He
(01:39:18):
was very unsure of things, overpassing, not willing to take shots.
And the thing I'll say about that game was the
Milwaukee game was we finally got to see him in
rhythm of any basket.
Speaker 5 (01:39:36):
Any player needs to be in rhythm. And so it's
a situation where.
Speaker 6 (01:39:45):
People were like, oh, oh okay, he's running the sets,
he's coming off the screens finding the open person. He
was playing basketball without the notion of oh I gotta
do this or I can't make I make a mistake.
And once once a young player, any rookie, once you
can get out of your head, and I know I've
(01:40:06):
been there. Once you can get out of your head
and just let your skills take over, then that's when
the growth happens. And that's what we got a chance
to really see with with Briannie in that game. Seventeen
points in an NBA game, and it wasn't just in
the fourth quarter and that at the end of the game,
he was in the game.
Speaker 5 (01:40:26):
Yeah, And so now.
Speaker 6 (01:40:28):
You just build off of that and before you know it,
you know every time out it's one of those type
of outings. And that's that's the thing I was encouraged
about as Michigan State, to your h too much of
your chagrin here is pulling away here and now up
(01:40:51):
by five.
Speaker 5 (01:40:53):
You should be happy about that.
Speaker 3 (01:40:54):
That's my relief.
Speaker 5 (01:40:55):
Yes, your relief. Yes to my joint my chagrin, your relief.
Speaker 3 (01:40:58):
How about I. How about I a state doing the
thing that annoys the hell out of fans more than anything,
which is just make a furious charge, way way too late,
way too late. Now cut it to ten there's a.
Speaker 5 (01:41:11):
Minute twelve minutes ago. Way to go, guys, Yeah, wait
to show up.
Speaker 3 (01:41:15):
I mean maybe that's his whole miss like just pulled.
Speaker 5 (01:41:19):
Up and we talked about that before earlier.
Speaker 6 (01:41:23):
You just get them placing you don't pay attention to
details out the window. So yeah, it's one of those situations.
Just missed a wide open layul. We should have fouled him.
Why didn't they not?
Speaker 3 (01:41:38):
Found?
Speaker 2 (01:41:40):
By the way, Bronnie Brownie did get a chance to
build on on that game. He played seven minutes in
the following game.
Speaker 5 (01:41:46):
How did you do that? I turned that that trash
off with the Bulls game.
Speaker 3 (01:41:50):
Over four oh for two from three, had an assist,
hit a couple of free throws, fouled somebody minus eight.
Speaker 6 (01:42:02):
They were all minus though, yeah right, yes they were.
So the people were minus twenty.
Speaker 3 (01:42:07):
Led by lebron James. Yeah, minus twenty seven.
Speaker 5 (01:42:10):
Yeah, there you go.
Speaker 3 (01:42:11):
It is almost minus thirty. Yeah so yeah, yeah.
Speaker 5 (01:42:15):
I take minus eight over minus thirty.
Speaker 2 (01:42:18):
Anyway, Like, I just this isn't even about his development,
whether or not he'll end up being good, Like I
do not believe.
Speaker 3 (01:42:27):
In him at all, But who cares? Who am I? Like? Whatever?
Speaker 2 (01:42:30):
Yeah, go prove that wrong. That's fine. I just don't
understand at all how a we all bought into this,
Like Lebron's gonna usher him into the NBA, force him
onto the Lakers, but then once he gets there, nobody's
allowed to have an opinion.
Speaker 3 (01:42:48):
He's a man, he's a human, so be nice.
Speaker 2 (01:42:54):
I'm like, what what other athlete in America has afforded that?
Speaker 5 (01:43:00):
No one.
Speaker 2 (01:43:03):
I mean, there's only one person who I tell my kids,
you should be nice to this person, no matter.
Speaker 5 (01:43:08):
What is their mother, their mother? No oh, Steve Dezeger, Yeah, perfect, perfect.
Speaker 3 (01:43:15):
That's it. You're the only one.
Speaker 8 (01:43:17):
Thank you very much. What perfect wearing the crown?
Speaker 9 (01:43:22):
We've got college who have stuff dated a moment. But guys,
we've got an update on the health of Dodgers shortstop
Mookie Bets. We mentioned earlier in the show. He was
a late scratch from the lineup tonight as la is
starting a three game exhibition series home tonight against the Angels.
He did not play any of the four games overseas
the Dodgers had. He missed both exhibitions and then both
(01:43:42):
wins against the Cubs. David Vasse, Dodgers radio reporter, spoke
to Mookie Bets tonight. Bets said, every time I've eaten,
I haven't been able to hold it down. I am
scared to eat.
Speaker 8 (01:43:55):
He said.
Speaker 9 (01:43:56):
When he left for spring training, he weighed one hundred
and seventy five pounds.
Speaker 8 (01:43:59):
He now went fifty pounds.
Speaker 5 (01:44:01):
Oh, oh my god.
Speaker 9 (01:44:02):
In Tokyo, Betts said he got two leaders of IV.
He's only been able to digest smoothie since not feeling well,
and he was sick before the trip. Symptoms have improved
except for not being able to hold down solid food.
He has started new medication.
Speaker 8 (01:44:17):
He said.
Speaker 9 (01:44:18):
He was scratched from tonight's exhibition against the Halos because
he had to lose his lunch again. He hasn't been
able to eat solid foods since two days before the
team originally left for Tokyo. Wow Opening Day, oh Thursday.
By the way, Dodgers hosting the Tigers. Dodgers were tied
one to one in the seventh of the exhibition tonight,
Max Moncia solo homer. They've just made it seven to one.
(01:44:41):
It's bottom of the eighth inning. Chris Taylor with a
couple of RBIs late in this game. Now to the
college hoops we've got twelve minutes to go. Two seed
Michigan State has taken the lead on New Mexico forty
six to forty one, and it is now a final.
Old Miss beats three seed Iowa State ninety one to
seventy eight. The late games in Seattle, Oregon had a
big lead early. Arizona is now ahead of the Oregon
(01:45:04):
Ducks late in the first half forty one to thirty five.
Game winner at the buzzer for Maryland to eliminate Colorado
State seventy two to seventy one. The day started with
one seed in their region, Florida eliminating Yukon seventy seven
seventy five.
Speaker 8 (01:45:19):
That means it's Florida.
Speaker 9 (01:45:20):
Against Maryland in the Bay Area on Thursday night in
the sweet sixteen. The other matchup there will be Arkansas
against Texas Tech. Duke one seed in the East, took
care of Baylor easily eighty nine sixty six. Alabama, the
two seed in the region, beat Saint Mary's eighty to
sixty six. Kentucky eliminated Illinois eighty four to seventy five
(01:45:40):
in the late game. In women's hoops, one seed UCLA
is only up twenty three to twenty two against Richmond
in the second quarter.
Speaker 8 (01:45:49):
In the NBA, the late.
Speaker 9 (01:45:50):
Game has the Clippers trailing at home to Oklahoma City
mid third quarter, sixty seven sixty one. Each team has
won five straight games. Okse's record fifty eight and twelve.
Cleveland's record now fifty seven and fourteen after they ended
a four game losing streak. Today, Cabs won at Utah
one twenty to ninety one. Denver beat a Houston team
that had won ninth straight, won sixteen to one to eleven.
(01:46:12):
The final Jamal Murray thirty nine points. Nikola jokiccha the
Nuggets with the bad ankle, was out for a fourth
straight game, likely out Monday, but the team says he
should return during their upcoming homestand NHL Saint Louis won
at sixth straight. Florida won in a shootout. Kyle Larson
was the NASCAR winner at Homestead Miami. The IndyCar Race
went to alex Plow and we did have golf, yeah,
(01:46:34):
not live golf.
Speaker 3 (01:46:35):
Oh.
Speaker 9 (01:46:36):
They're off this weekend. They'll be at Durral in Miami
in early April, and then there's a late April event
at Mexico City. The PGA event the Valspar was in Florida,
and we had today in the final round, nine golfers
with at least a share of the lead at some point.
Eventually Victor Hovlin the winner that puts him back into
(01:46:59):
the top ten. This guy was the FedEx Cup champion
a year and a half ago and has struggled since.
We would have to go back to last summer to
the last time he actually made the cut against a
full field until this weekend and today final round he's
three shots back with five to play and he rallies
(01:47:20):
to beat Justin Thomas by one stroke. Three birdies late
helps him. His quote after the win, It's been quite
a struggle the past year and a half. Wasn't sure
I was going to show today. Glad I did. I
honestly did not believe I could do it this week
end quote. But as Golf Week put it to Victor
go the spoils. Victor Hovlin gets about one point five
(01:47:42):
million dollars for taking this event. That winners check puts him,
at the age of twenty seven, into the top forty
of the all time money list of the PGA Tour.
YEP thirty three million dollars in earnings. That's not endorsements,
just earnings on the PGA Tour. And he's still in
(01:48:03):
his twenties. Also some context, that winner's check today of
a million and a half. Yeah, it's better than second
place for starters, because the guy who finished second, Justin Thomas,
gets a very cool nine hundred and fifty thousand.
Speaker 8 (01:48:17):
But let's do the mat.
Speaker 9 (01:48:18):
That's over a half million dollars difference when only one
stroke separated those two golfers over four days. That winner's
check of about a million and a half is also
about the same amount that Ben Campbell just won on
the Live Golf Tour in Singapore for finishing six strokes
back in third place at their most recent event. The winner,
(01:48:42):
Jakee Neeman, got four million dollars. Why, because every winner.
Speaker 8 (01:48:46):
On the Live Golf Tour gets four million dollars. Back
to you, Where is.
Speaker 3 (01:48:54):
This all going? Man? Where is this all golling? Oh?
Speaker 5 (01:48:59):
No, we going to see are we.
Speaker 3 (01:49:02):
Like?
Speaker 2 (01:49:03):
Live versus PGA Tour is kind of turning into Gore
versus Bush?
Speaker 5 (01:49:10):
Remember, I mean it's gonna combine, right?
Speaker 2 (01:49:13):
No, but right it was like ooh close race, We're
gonna stay up all night.
Speaker 3 (01:49:18):
We're gonna learn up what a hanging chat is. Oh
my gosh, this could go into tomorrow. Wait a minute,
this might actually take days. It's gonna go to court.
This is exciting.
Speaker 2 (01:49:28):
Revote, and then like three weeks later you're like, are
they done yet?
Speaker 3 (01:49:31):
Oh my god, like what are we doing?
Speaker 2 (01:49:35):
There was a minute where it sounded like and felt
like it was like, Okay, there's a merger or like something,
and we're gonna figure out where people are supposed to
go and how do we handle the points and the
rankings and the money and all of that. And then
the majors. Now you can even, dude, look at any
of these guys on the press conference when they get
(01:49:56):
asked about it. Look at them. They're exhausted, they're exasperated.
They have no interest in talking about it anymore. Seriously.
It like the golfers on the podium when they're asked
about a merger or where this is all going. It's
(01:50:17):
like talking to a kid about their homework.
Speaker 3 (01:50:20):
They're just like, yeah, skimmity, skivvy, skimmy.
Speaker 2 (01:50:29):
I don't know, man, So I don't know, Like I
get why you feel that way, but.
Speaker 3 (01:50:34):
I don't know. I don't know what's going to happen.
Speaker 6 (01:50:39):
Well, we'll see. Man, there's a lot of money out there. Yeah,
it's exciting. Is it exciting when both of them are going?
Speaker 3 (01:50:44):
Though?
Speaker 5 (01:50:45):
I can tell you that.
Speaker 3 (01:50:48):
Is anything exciting on the LIB Tour.
Speaker 5 (01:50:52):
The prize money.
Speaker 3 (01:50:54):
Yeah, but is that right? I don't know how.
Speaker 6 (01:50:56):
Like all they have to do is make it two
rival leagues like the uh AFC in the NFC, and
they just compete in each turn.
Speaker 5 (01:51:04):
They all show up in the tournament, you compete.
Speaker 3 (01:51:07):
And then have a super bowl at the end.
Speaker 5 (01:51:08):
Yess it?
Speaker 6 (01:51:09):
Okay, your top five live golfers and you pick your
and it has to be on winning your top winningness
players from each and then you roll it out.
Speaker 3 (01:51:26):
Okay, okay, i'd watch that. Yeah. I don't know. I
don't even know if some of these guys know how
the hell they ended up wherever the hell they are,
or how to get back you know what I mean.
Speaker 5 (01:51:39):
It was like somebody they got there by private plane.
Speaker 2 (01:51:41):
Yeah, well that's a good point. That's that's a fair point.
They're fine, of course they're fine. But that's my point.
What's the drama on the lip where you're like, if
you win, you get four million, but if you lose,
you only get three. Oh no, Like, who cares? Why
am I supposed to care about that?
Speaker 5 (01:52:02):
I think the golfers love live is less.
Speaker 6 (01:52:05):
It's one less round eighteen, you know, less holes and
more is more money.
Speaker 5 (01:52:11):
You get to play more tournaments. It's just better, right.
Speaker 2 (01:52:15):
But that just turns fans off. Like what you just
described was load management and the NBA Cup.
Speaker 6 (01:52:21):
Yeah, but I'm not here, so you get to play
more tournaments.
Speaker 2 (01:52:25):
Like you to work less, make more money, and we
pay more to not see you play.
Speaker 3 (01:52:30):
Like I'm I don't know, dude, I'm confused. I really am.
Speaker 2 (01:52:36):
In fact, we should get into that a little bit
more because we talked about it a little bit earlier.
Like half the Western Conference stars are sitting out at
the most opportune time for them to really like push
their team up in the standings.
Speaker 3 (01:52:50):
It's a little bit of a head scratcher.
Speaker 2 (01:52:52):
But that and more coming down the stretch with tonight's
March Madness here in the tyreck dot Com Studios with
e from Salama, Mark Weather than It's Fox Sports Radio. Okay,
Tyreight dot Com Studios. You might be right. I think
you want to be right, and you might be right.
(01:53:13):
New Mexico looks like they have the stomach for this.
What I mean they only down by five yeap with
a free throw coming for the Sparty six thirty eight
to go in this one. I'm impressed. I'm impressed, but
(01:53:34):
they probably don't have enough.
Speaker 5 (01:53:36):
Seems like they running out a little bit of steam, huh.
You know.
Speaker 3 (01:53:39):
And then that Arizona Oregon first half was wild.
Speaker 6 (01:53:44):
Yeah, that was back and forth, back and forth, back
and forth. But these are the look like I said,
these are the type of games we want to see
right now, right closing out. Who's gonna be in the
sweet sixteen. It's a good game. It's a good game,
very good game.
Speaker 5 (01:53:56):
This UCLA Richmond game women's was good until.
Speaker 3 (01:54:01):
You know, until it wasn't.
Speaker 6 (01:54:03):
Well, they're hanging in there. I mean it's only you know,
twenty nine four, so that's good. Yeah, that'd be a
huge upset.
Speaker 3 (01:54:13):
Yeah, yeah, I like and I know, you know, they're
just they're in the second quarter.
Speaker 2 (01:54:20):
We've got quarters in the women's game. But that'll get
figured out in the second half. Yeah, that one seeds
moving on, that one scene, that one seed's moving on.
Speaker 3 (01:54:34):
I feel like we talk about it a lot. I
don't think there's ever a good answer for it.
Speaker 2 (01:54:39):
I got into a lot of discussions about it this
week when when the Warriors decided to give Steph Curry
a night off with Giannis coming into town after losing
a basketball game where Nicola Yo Kicch and Jamal Murray
both sat out and nobody really knew why. Now they
ended up sitting out multiple games. There must be and
(01:54:59):
y could you're still sitting out? Yeah, so there's some something.
Speaker 3 (01:55:05):
There's something going on there.
Speaker 6 (01:55:06):
They're trying to keep him as fresh as possible for
these playoffs is about to happen.
Speaker 5 (01:55:10):
I can promise you that.
Speaker 3 (01:55:11):
Here's what I struggle with.
Speaker 2 (01:55:13):
Man, these people know what they're doing, and obviously they
have found a sweet spot that maximizes the potential of
a player and therefore a team. And so, like I
said earlier, they're not stupid. They're doing what they do
for a reason. But where where does the league and
(01:55:36):
where do the fans fit in on all of this?
Because the bottom line is, as you maximize your potential
on an individual basis, I think sometimes you stop maximizing
your potential as a greater company, and that's what I
see is happening.
Speaker 3 (01:55:57):
Right now with the NBA.
Speaker 2 (01:55:59):
Individual are maximizing their performance at the expense of the
greater company.
Speaker 3 (01:56:06):
And so.
Speaker 2 (01:56:09):
I don't know, I don't I don't know what the
fix is. I really don't. I just know that the
things that I see Adam Silver try or are usually
not it.
Speaker 3 (01:56:22):
You know what I mean.
Speaker 2 (01:56:23):
I like at him Silver, you know, like, Okay, let's
split the All Star Game into four squads and we'll
do Okay, how about how about a mid season tournament
where somebody gets money?
Speaker 3 (01:56:38):
Yeah? Okay, like what what? What? What are we doing?
Speaker 2 (01:56:42):
I do this every year in in uh in March,
and I quiz people. I go who won the NBA Cup.
Nobody knows. Nobody even knows who won the NBA Cup.
Speaker 3 (01:56:55):
So, like, I mean, I don't know.
Speaker 2 (01:56:59):
Man, They're in a very you know, you've talked about it,
like baseball being in a tough spot.
Speaker 3 (01:57:04):
NBA is too. NBA is a tough spot right now.
Speaker 6 (01:57:08):
I think, Yeah, I agree, the money, the salaries are escalating,
but you know, the product isn't following suit, at least
in the NFL. When the money goes up, I mean,
the excitement level doesn't dip.
Speaker 2 (01:57:30):
I couldn't imagine a subject like load management coming to
the NFL.
Speaker 5 (01:57:35):
No, where you loading to? What did you have? Sixteen games?
Excuse me, seventeen.
Speaker 3 (01:57:41):
Games and soon will be eighteen.
Speaker 5 (01:57:44):
There's not gonna be eighteen.
Speaker 3 (01:57:45):
They're gonna be eighteen.
Speaker 5 (01:57:46):
It's gonna be twenty before long, exactly.
Speaker 3 (01:57:49):
Remember, and they're gonna.
Speaker 5 (01:57:50):
Be remember they remember they used to play sixteen games.
Twenty game.
Speaker 2 (01:57:58):
Some cat's gonna have six five touchdown passes and there
like broke that record. Well, yeah, you're warning.
Speaker 6 (01:58:05):
Seven games, eighty six, one hundred passing yards and sixty
nine touchdowns, three interceptions.
Speaker 5 (01:58:15):
You're like, uh, throw the record book out the window.
Speaker 3 (01:58:18):
You're through for.
Speaker 2 (01:58:19):
Five thousand yards in America, but there were two thousand
more yards in Germanymany, We had a thousand in Mexico,
fifteen hundred in London. Yeah, I mean, they've got they've
got the secret sauce. But it's all it's all baked into,
it's all baked into just the way the game is,
(01:58:39):
and so you can't replicate that. So I don't know,
I don't know what the fix is, man, because this
is intense basketball right now. But I feel like you
know the lineups are not they're not matching that intensity.
It's kind of intense for the fans. I don't know
how intense I've actually watched the NBA teams get yet.
Speaker 6 (01:59:03):
No, I just they save all of that for the playoffs.
It's just it's too much like in the league. That's
the problem. Too much, like too much like everybody loves
each other, everybody's great.
Speaker 3 (01:59:19):
You think that's it.
Speaker 6 (01:59:20):
It is it when you when you're playing against somebody
you don't like, it's a whole other level of energy.
Speaker 3 (01:59:25):
Yeah, I mean that's what happens.
Speaker 6 (01:59:28):
There's a whole other level of energy, no doubt, and
that's what's missing.
Speaker 3 (01:59:33):
All right, man, we gotta roll peace out. Here comes
playing and Spaniard
