The way tied buying should.
Speaker 1 (00:31):
Be Elite eight action, Carrie.
Speaker 4 (00:33):
You know.
Speaker 2 (00:33):
We When I was doing my bracket, Carrie, you know
I picked a Cinderella story. High point was my Cinderella story.
So early on my bracket sucked early on. And then
when I got to the final four, I had an
originally the four one seeds, and I was like, there's
no way this is gonna happen.
Speaker 5 (00:51):
And no talk for you, you know, Yeah.
Speaker 3 (00:53):
And now here I am great.
Speaker 1 (00:56):
Great.
Speaker 3 (00:57):
I had Tennessee going to the final four.
Speaker 2 (01:00):
Yeah they were bad, No, they bad, they were what
I just how how come on? Man?
Speaker 3 (01:05):
Come on?
Speaker 1 (01:06):
Man?
Speaker 2 (01:07):
Fifteen points in the first half, Yeah, I could have
scored me and you.
Speaker 1 (01:11):
I was like, it scored fifteen points in.
Speaker 5 (01:13):
The first kick it out to you.
Speaker 3 (01:15):
That's what I'm saying.
Speaker 1 (01:16):
No easily, easily.
Speaker 3 (01:18):
It was a rough.
Speaker 2 (01:19):
Outing, definitely for the volunteers against the one seed Houston Cougars.
And like, you know, it's just too much of a
hill to battle at that point. Even though they fought.
You know, it wasn't like they waited last second to
play full court press. They did it in the first
they tried. They never stopped, they never stopped. But man,
(01:40):
they could not get a ball in the hoop. And
it was like contagious. None of them could score. Yeah,
it it became contagious.
Speaker 6 (01:48):
Yeah, And that's what happens when you play good defensive
teams that are really physical. They make you speed up
your process, right yep. Doesn't mean that you're like running
up and down the court, but any kind of opening,
any kind of ents where you see the ram, like
you're taking that shot because you think you have to.
You won't get another chance. Tennessee didn't run good offense.
They shot bad shots, quick shots fell behind. Houston didn't
(02:12):
wasn't blazing it either. They only had thirty four points
at the half. So if Tennessee made half of those shots,
they're still only down ten twelve at the half. But
this game was over from the start.
Speaker 3 (02:23):
It was over early on.
Speaker 1 (02:24):
And that's it.
Speaker 2 (02:25):
Like we're here talking about not that Houston was dominant,
Yeah and kicked ass. No you won, congratulations, you're moving on.
But it wasn't that. It was just that the volunteers
Tennessee came out, so I don't know like what they thought,
but everything you just said. When when you can't make shots,
you start playing desperate basketball against a good defensive team,
(02:47):
that is a bad combination. That's terrible for everybody, and
everyone feels the need to I have to step up.
I have to, but everyone is playing desperate. And when
you're playing desperate in the first half, how you can't share?
And it was like, all right, they brought it, I
think within ten about what five minutes, yeah, five minutes.
They both scored thirty five in the second half, like
(03:08):
they tried. But as you said, in the first half,
I think everyone looked at that game and was like, well,
this is probably over.
Speaker 5 (03:15):
Yeah, it was over. I mean, you look at it.
Speaker 6 (03:17):
I sent out a tweet earlier today and the tweet said,
no matter how battle tested you are in your tough conference,
which was the whole SEC narrative this year, when you
wind up on real dudes, that ball you can still
get twenty piece. And so like this whole thing about
the idea of hiding behind the conference and how tough
it was, and the SEC teams are going to be
(03:38):
battle testing, Yes they are, but there are other great
teams out there that may be in the conference that
may not be as tough as yours. And then you
run into that team and you see something that you
haven't seen before. This is what happens. Like Tennessee is
used to a certain style of play, a certain way
of teams attacking them. Then you get a new team
that's just as good as they are, that's test it
(04:00):
as well. And you come out there and you're in
you're shell shocked. You get punched in the mouth by
a team that does something different yep, and you cannot adjust.
Speaker 2 (04:10):
Is there any way that this is bad for Houston
moving forward, that this is the last game that they
play going into the Final four.
Speaker 6 (04:19):
No, it's just bathroom. They gotta play Duke, that's all.
Let's not break it down too like that. That's not
too much depth there. It means it's a great team. Yeah,
they play a style that a lot of teams can't handle.
They're very physical, they're athletic, they're bigs aren't as tall.
It's like, I mean, they're six eight sixty nine. They're tall,
they're not as tall as Duke, but they're wingspans. All
their guys that start are seven foot wingspans span are better.
Speaker 5 (04:42):
Right.
Speaker 6 (04:43):
So what that means for Houston and why they're so
good is when they switch or they hedge with their bigs,
they're athletic enough to stick with most guards. And so
that's the issue, the issue that they present to people
into teams. But Duke's a different animal.
Speaker 2 (04:58):
And they haven't their their own height and their own
little monsters.
Speaker 3 (05:03):
I say little because they're they're not as a joke.
Speaker 2 (05:06):
But Houston gets to this game by beating Purdue.
Speaker 1 (05:10):
That game, Craig Game.
Speaker 2 (05:14):
Had them and again I had Purdue eliminated in the
first round because I thought hih point was going to
take them down, so I didn't even have them on
my bracket. What a game. Houston up by ten with
eight minutes to go, but Purdue was not going to
ease up. And we've talked about Purdue. Purdue doesn't like
stand out to me. They just are a very well
coached team. They know what they're doing, and so they're
(05:36):
gonna present a problem with anybody to anybody. But that
out of bounds play by Kelvin Samson two point eight
seconds to go, Chef's freaking kiss kid, I like my
jaw dropped because of how simple the play was. And
obviously it was a design play. No, that wasn't luck.
Speaker 7 (05:58):
You know.
Speaker 2 (05:58):
I wonder if if Samson was like, listen, if you're open,
you're gonna get the ball back. If you're not open,
then you know, but he was. He bounced the ball
in and there he was.
Speaker 6 (06:06):
The crazy thing about that actual play is, and you
play basketball that play there there are three options on
that play. The first option is the cross screen where
the guard comes open and he comes on the he
comes from one elbow to the other to the other
elbow and he catches the one over there for a
shot to win it. That was taken away. The second
(06:27):
option of that is the guy who sets the screen right.
He's going to be the second option. The third option
is the guy that's second the ball out of bounds exactly.
And the game plan and what they saw from Purdue
is a defensive assignment called like they'll call X the block, right,
so the guy that's guarding the ball in that action
where the guy may get screen, the guy who's guarding
(06:48):
the ball runs to that. That's an actual that's part
of the game plan. But they did not account for
the guy taking the ball out of bounds or the
guy who was supposed to get back was too far away.
So just perfect execution by Houston.
Speaker 2 (07:02):
I could my face dropped because it just also was
so simple, right, it was like none of that was complicated,
and sometimes it's like that's you just have to make
the easy play. You just have to call the time
out and make the easy play on the next one,
and they do it. Now Houston is headed to their
seventh Final four in program history, I think four in
the last five years. But they're headed to the final four.
(07:24):
Just getting started is the other one seed. See if
all one seeds make it to the final four, Auburn
against two seed in Michigan State. This one just got going,
So we'll definitely keep you updated on that one.
Speaker 6 (07:34):
The beautiful thing about that is I got a chance
to catch you now if you changed Houston to Tendnessee,
because I got a Houston going to the final four.
Oh yeah, if you changed that, and I may have
a chance to catch you in the stand right in
the bracket. I'm below you right now. I was looking
at I was like, Wow, they are killing me right now.
I'm right there. I'm like on the precipice of making
a little a late charge.
Speaker 8 (07:56):
I mean, like anyone that has I feel like anyone
that is winning right now, I'm like, you.
Speaker 2 (08:00):
Just took all the obvious answers, Like this is the
first year that it's been like that, all all the
obvious answers, or like who was supposed to win pretty
much won and instead of going in that direction, I
was like, there's no way it's gonna go like this. No,
there's gotta be some surprises, a little bumps and and
bruises on the way, But no, it's been pretty much
after what what was what was the real one?
Speaker 3 (08:21):
Upset Clemson?
Speaker 5 (08:22):
Uh? That was that was that.
Speaker 2 (08:24):
Drake over Missourian Clemson Macnie State, Well that was.
Speaker 1 (08:31):
Doug Gottlief said that nil money comparison, It was like
Drake over Missouri was like the biggest It was the
biggest one. Yeah, I don't care about nil. Yeah, I
like the game. They were thirteen twelve seed.
Speaker 5 (08:42):
Yeah, Clemson was.
Speaker 9 (08:43):
Yeah, it was twelve to twelve five.
Speaker 6 (08:46):
Just the way Clemson made it to the Final Four
with that same team last year. So just the product
on the cot Yees.
Speaker 2 (08:51):
So Clemson was probably the biggest one. And I did
have Drake advancing, by the way, so I.
Speaker 1 (08:55):
Picked that one right.
Speaker 2 (08:56):
But oh all right, another game before we officially let
go of the Elite eight and the Sweet sixteen. The
other game that we got to talk about Texas Tech
and Florida.
Speaker 3 (09:05):
Were you stressed in that game?
Speaker 1 (09:08):
Are you a little bit? I wanted Texas Tech to win,
because I told you, because.
Speaker 2 (09:13):
You think Florida and you're a duke guy, so you
would have been happy if Florida got eliminated.
Speaker 5 (09:19):
Yeah, Texas Tech played their butts off.
Speaker 1 (09:21):
They really did.
Speaker 6 (09:21):
They got McMillan back, which is a which is a
big bump for them though, I mean I didn't nobody
really knew if he was going to make it back
to play, and so yes, when you watch that game
or going into that game, you thought Florida would handle
them pretty easily. Then macmillan came in and played and
actually played well, and they got some They got some
guys on that team. If that Texas Tech team was
together the whole year.
Speaker 2 (09:43):
I mean Florida had to dig deep though in those
three minutes they were down yes.
Speaker 1 (09:49):
To go, I was I could.
Speaker 2 (09:51):
I couldn't believe the score, and like, I hate the scheduling.
There's too much going on at the same time. So
I keep going back and forth between channels, and I
feel like I missed moments. I don't know why we
can't just have not yes, not in the early rounds,
but in these later rounds. Why can't we just have
one game out of time or one? I hated it.
(10:12):
I kept going back and forth, but the Gators pulled
it off headed to the final, their first Final fours
is twenty fourteen. Good for you, but down nine and
three minutes, I was a little nervous because I have Florida.
Speaker 3 (10:22):
Winning the whole thing in my bracket. Okay, it's separate conversation,
all right.
Speaker 2 (10:25):
Last night's game Duke and Alabama, and I.
Speaker 1 (10:31):
Think our producers shame. I have some thoughts on this
as well, because.
Speaker 5 (10:33):
Oh, yes, he's a hater.
Speaker 1 (10:36):
Okay, come on, you're thinking what everyone else is thinking.
I'm a voice for the people. That's all I'm gonna say.
Speaker 2 (10:44):
Both stars were quote unquote shut down. Cooper Flag didn't
have his typical what was he six of sixteen. I
want to say something like that, right, Mark Sears six
points two of twelve. Both stars were shut down, but
the defense seemed to be a big part of why
Alabama lost this game, only for the second time this
(11:07):
season that they didn't crack seventy points, only the second
time the most powerful offense in the nation.
Speaker 3 (11:14):
Oh yeah, and then Duke came out and handled business.
Speaker 5 (11:18):
Well, you just said it.
Speaker 6 (11:19):
When you put those two, you know, the marquee guys
for each team, and you stacked them together, they both struggled,
but don't I don't think the struggle was as bad
for Cooper.
Speaker 5 (11:29):
Yeah, he just didn't shoot the ball.
Speaker 6 (11:31):
Well, he was a little jittery as well, and you
could see a little bit of the nerves there.
Speaker 3 (11:35):
He had that block that was like a volleyball spike
that one.
Speaker 5 (11:37):
Yes he did.
Speaker 6 (11:38):
And see that's the thing, right, So Sears when he
struggles for Alabama, it's very detrimental because they're his supporting
cast isn't as good as Dukes, right right, So Cooper
Flag six for sixteen, he still has sixteen points. But
the thing about Cooper is, yeah, six assists, right had
his other things, he does other things. He blocked two shots,
right like, he still affects the game. The Seers has
(11:58):
to score. And you know, you talk about Duke's defense,
their defense was just lights out. I mean there was
a couple of like clinic tape, clinic tape situations that
happened in that game where the first possession of the
game they got a twenty four second you know me
from the start, right like, so they set the tempo
from the like right out the gate.
Speaker 5 (12:16):
Absolutely, Yeah, defense was big for Duke.
Speaker 2 (12:18):
And I'm sure Alabama wasn't expected, didn't after just setting
a record for the mist threes in the game mark
series with ten of them, to come out and just
like not have the And it wasn't that you needed
the same type of game, but to have that bad
of a game where you just like you said, you
weren't shooting, but you also weren't facilitating and helping around
(12:39):
the way Cooper Flag does and Alabama gets eliminated. Obviously,
there's controversy on the roughing situation.
Speaker 6 (12:47):
Bringing in say, because I want to hear what the
controversy really is, Say what what's going on now?
Speaker 5 (12:52):
You weren't even watching the game fully, so I want
to know what you keep people.
Speaker 1 (12:57):
It is not just Shay. I agree with certain people
as well. Not obviously some people are going to crazy
extents with it, of course, But I do think it
was a little lopsided. And I mean the refing. They
were like, it was already said and put out when
they put out the reffing crew for the Elite eight,
a lot of people were saying, Oh, everyone's gonna hate
(13:17):
this reving cue blah blah blah blah blah. So they
were already going with like a oh, this is gonna
be a bad game. And I mean, you agreed with
me that the reffing was not a great atrocious was atrocious.
But I do think Duke got a little more exactly.
Speaker 6 (13:34):
You mean overall, So Duke or do you mean Cooper flag?
Because I've heard like Cooper flag was what's different now,
So I've heard that as well, but I don't I didn't.
I mean, yeah, he had that one play where it
was basically Cooper flag like went and ripped for a ball,
And I mean, I think it would have been called
a fowl on any other team, any other play in
(13:55):
the NBA high school it would have been called a fowl,
but in that certain stugy tuition, it wasn't called a foul.
But that was the one time I saw it, so
I didn't think it was like a really big thing
with him necessarily more than just Duke. But at the
same time, Alabama did get away with a lot of stuff.
But at the same like, it's just like, I don't
think it's the reason they lost. Defense was the best
(14:16):
I've ever seen it ever, and I think they probably
have one of the best defenses now, which is crazy
because I was like, my god, but it's something that
I had to say.
Speaker 2 (14:27):
You know, no totally, And I feel like it's just
sometimes that situation, the ruffing situation, the fasciating situation, gets
magnified in certain games, right and in this one where
it's like, how is Alabama having such a hard time
scoring when they're the best offense in the nation. You
want to find an excuse aside from there just not
shooting the ball well because Duke is playing good defense.
Speaker 1 (14:48):
You have to try and find another reason.
Speaker 2 (14:50):
And maybe the whistle was a little bit friendlier maybe,
But I the officiating, like you said, was just bad.
Speaker 1 (14:56):
It was just bad as we've seen.
Speaker 10 (14:58):
No.
Speaker 5 (14:58):
No, I promise you, no, I promise you.
Speaker 6 (15:01):
Like you can ask go to Twitter again we talk
about Twitter or whatever X, you can go in there
and you'll see both fan bases saying the same thing
that everybody's saying.
Speaker 5 (15:12):
So that's where that's why I.
Speaker 6 (15:13):
Know it's it's not just Duke, right like, because both
fan basu.
Speaker 1 (15:20):
They're still upset and they're still upset. Yeah.
Speaker 2 (15:22):
No, it seemed to be the topic of conversation definitely
after the game across social media, so I agree with you.
Speaker 3 (15:28):
It wasn't just one. Everyone had something to say.
Speaker 2 (15:31):

who are the top ranked listeners. The listener with the
best bracket at Foxsports Radio dot Com will win a
twenty five hundred dollars gift card to tractor Supply.
Speaker 3 (16:09):
Lots of hoops going on, but.
Speaker 2 (16:11):
Carrie, we also have lots of baseball to talk about.
I mean, I know that you probably still have a
little bit of a bad taste in your mouth. Well
you know, I'm just calling it like it is because
of how the World Series ended. But the Yankees have
definitely started things on a high note, and so have
(16:33):
the Dodgers, and I feel like we need to dive
into that on the other side. So don't go anywhere.
This is Fox Sports Sunday.
Speaker 1 (16:43):
Do listen to Fox Sports. It is Fox Sports Sunday.
Speaker 2 (16:48):
I'm Monti Belanyas alongside former All Pro safety Carry Roads,
hanging out with you on this very busy time of
the year. No football, but that's kind of a good
thing because there's so many other things that we can
talk about, and don't worry, we are gonna talk about football.
Dont Juarry, there's always football talk.
Speaker 1 (17:04):
Oh.
Speaker 2 (17:06):
Carrie Rhodes just pointed out to me the score between
one seed Auburn and two seed of Michigan State, which
Martin Weiss will check in with him in a little bit,
but Hoard is up twenty three to eight with ten
minutes to go in the first half. And also on
the women's side, one seed UCLA moving on to the
Final four first and CLA Final four.
Speaker 1 (17:29):
Ever, for the.
Speaker 2 (17:30):
Lady Bruins, they eliminated third seed LSU seventy two to
sixty five was the final their congratulations. Congratulations to U Seela.
But again, no football, lots of basketball and also lots
of baseball. Yes, I mean, listen, Carrie, I don't I
do not hate the Yankees. First of all, I know
(17:52):
you want to put the gloves on against me. I
understand that I and I'll put them on. Don't worry,
But I truly have no disc day dislike against the Yankees.
I know that the Dodgers and the Yankees have a
historical rivalry that goes back ages back to the Brooklyn
days when the Dodgers were also in New York. But
that rivalry is historic, it's not now, you know what
(18:15):
I mean. Like I would say playing the World Series
Yankees and Dodgers, it was like so awesome, but there
was no bad blood.
Speaker 3 (18:22):
There was no bad feelings or anything like that.
Speaker 5 (18:25):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (18:25):
And so here we start the new season, and for
the Yankees.
Speaker 2 (18:28):
And the Dodgers to both come out having such great starts, Yeah,
is so good for the sports.
Speaker 5 (18:34):
So good for the sport.
Speaker 6 (18:35):
And you know what, I wonder if that will, if
your tune will change, if they make it, if they
both make it again this year.
Speaker 1 (18:43):
If I'll feel a little bit of a rivalry, Yeah, because.
Speaker 5 (18:45):
The animosity has been bruing. Even over the all season.
Speaker 6 (18:48):
There's been chattered there's been talk of course between the two,
and so like just that that build up. And then
for the Yankees and the Dodgers that have the all
seasons that they had, the Dodgers reloaded in a huge way.
You know, the Yankees were more strategic about their approach
this time. They didn't go really all out there. They
lose won Soto, They bring in Bellinger, they bring in
(19:10):
some guys Goldsmiths who can who can come in and
actually feel the needs of their team, not just because
they want the big the big fish.
Speaker 1 (19:17):
Correct.
Speaker 6 (19:18):
And I like the way they're constructed right now. I
love the way they came out. They're hitting the ball
just all over the yard.
Speaker 1 (19:25):
Right now, everywhere. I mean back it was three pitches
just then in the game.
Speaker 11 (19:29):
With three nothing was nasty nester against.
Speaker 3 (19:34):
The team old teammates.
Speaker 1 (19:37):
It was like batting practice for PCTE for a poor guy.
Speaker 3 (19:40):
No, no, no, that was rough for him.
Speaker 2 (19:42):
I mean watching the Yankees again, Yeah, I like there
has to be the big market.
Speaker 3 (19:48):
Teams have to have success. That makes the sports better.
It really does.
Speaker 2 (19:51):
And with Aaron Judge hitting three homers yesterday, including a
Grand Slam hitting want to date his stat line? I
I can go double check, but he's he was one
of one today one because they walked him three times,
but he scored like four runs. Yes, Like it's so stupid.
He's on track for three hundred and eight homers this season.
Speaker 5 (20:08):
What did I text you?
Speaker 7 (20:10):
What?
Speaker 5 (20:10):
I text you?
Speaker 3 (20:11):
We're coming save it?
Speaker 5 (20:12):
Oh, I think tweet.
Speaker 1 (20:14):
You tweeted at me and I said save it for
the Dodgers please.
Speaker 2 (20:18):
Let's say and I'm sure he's going to save a
lot for the Dodgers. A lot of teams do that
against the Dodgers and the Yankees. You want to play
your best against the best teams, and then you have
the Dodgers also having I know they played in Tokyo,
but let's be real, I didn't watch that game at
three in the morning.
Speaker 1 (20:31):
Nobody did.
Speaker 2 (20:32):
You probably watch highlights like I did. I actually have
watched these games here at home, and to see Muki,
you know, walk it off after his illness, which was
a little bit scary for a second, was he got
sick right before they went to Tokyo, and he still went
to Tokyo, but couldn't keep food down and kept throwing up.
He lost like fifteen pounds, twenty pounds, and he has
no weight to lose that, like, what are you talking about?
(20:55):
And he could not keep food down literally until maybe
a week ago. They sent him back early from Tokyo
because he couldn't keep food down. And I also imagine
you're going to Tokyo where I assume there's a lot
of fish. When I'm sick, the last thing I even
want to around me is fish. Right, poor guy comes
out here even when he came back, he said, I
can't keep food down. I've literally been just drinking liquid.
Speaker 5 (21:17):
Imagine that flight back.
Speaker 3 (21:18):
Imagine the flight back.
Speaker 2 (21:20):
Poor guy, but yet walks it off, hits a couple
of home runs. You know, Sho Hao Tani having a
bullpen session pitching.
Speaker 3 (21:29):
He has to pitch.
Speaker 2 (21:30):
I know that some people think, like, no, no, no,
you got to protect him now, you just keep him
as a hitter forever. No, no, no, he's gonna pitch.
I don't know what's gonna happen. So both of these
are just great for the sport.
Speaker 11 (21:41):
And it's only the beginning, only the long way to go,
but a blast for both teams to come out and
just knock the ball around the park, pitch play well,
get wins, and yeah, let's build up.
Speaker 6 (21:53):
Let's build this thing up. Let's both Let's have both
of them play really well the whole year, and just
you know, have that mammoth meat each other at the
end of the year.
Speaker 2 (22:01):
And I just I got to add this up. So
the Yankees in three games have scored thirty seven runs.
Speaker 1 (22:09):
Thirty seven more than I were for the whole.
Speaker 9 (22:14):
I'm so sorry this is such a year.
Speaker 1 (22:17):
Dated just so much better.
Speaker 5 (22:21):
That just came out. I did not try to say that.
Speaker 1 (22:24):
He tried to say that.
Speaker 3 (22:26):
He definitely he was waiting for it.
Speaker 1 (22:28):
He was waiting for it.
Speaker 2 (22:29):
So a lot, a lot of home runs. But the
Yankees are using a special back.
Speaker 5 (22:33):
Oh here we go.
Speaker 1 (22:34):
I know, mean he knew it. I just this is it?
Speaker 2 (22:38):
Just we got to talk about it. We got to
talk about this. Is it toledo bat? I think torpedo
torpedo bat, torpedo bat. There we go, torpedo bat.
Speaker 1 (22:47):
Which it.
Speaker 2 (22:48):
All they're doing is they're they're making the mass the
big part of the back come down a little further
towards the logo, so less whiffing, more contact.
Speaker 3 (22:58):
Makes perfect sense.
Speaker 2 (22:59):
By the way, this is all legal, So it's I
I'm not trying to say that this is illegal.
Speaker 1 (23:04):
No, no, no, no no.
Speaker 2 (23:05):
But it is funny that they hit all of these homers.
But Aaron Judge is not.
Speaker 9 (23:10):
Using there you go massa. You can't with the fact. Yes, yes,
I was about to say he's not used. He's like,
he's like, I don't need that. That's that's not no.
I'm good, I make contact, I.
Speaker 1 (23:22):
Make I'm good.
Speaker 2 (23:23):
I literally hit a grand slam yesterday. I'm fine. Just
Chisholm Junior is using it and he had two homers today. Yeah,
And I feel like, why haven't you used this bat before?
Speaker 1 (23:33):
Upper teams?
Speaker 2 (23:34):
It makes perfect sense, Like there's a lot of times
where you do make contact in the middle of the
of the bat, lower by by the handle, and it breaks,
and it breaks, it whiffs, you don't get it becomes
a pop fly ball. Like, why hasn't this happened? Why
are they the only ones using it? Carry collusion? Collusion?
Speaker 6 (23:53):
Hey, we got to do anything we can to get
back to the World Series and beat the Dodgers.
Speaker 5 (23:59):
So whatever they're what, we're gonna happen. It's working, It's
going to happen.
Speaker 1 (24:03):
What do you mean sixty two? And O are you
kidding me?
Speaker 2 (24:05):
One sixty if they go on, if that happens, if
it's one sixty two, and oh, I feel like there's
gonna be a ton of people getting tattoos that say that,
you know what, I like.
Speaker 5 (24:15):
I get that, I'll get it.
Speaker 1 (24:18):
I'll get it because I mean it is it is.
Speaker 2 (24:20):
It is crazy to think obviously that's not gonna be
the score. But I do feel like the Dodgers right
now are on their way to defend their title.
Speaker 1 (24:30):
And at the same time, not only are the Yankees
on their way.
Speaker 2 (24:33):
To head back to the World Series, but Aaron Judge
is on his way to break his own record.
Speaker 1 (24:39):
Man already.
Speaker 9 (24:40):
Yeah what they say, he's on pace for three.
Speaker 5 (24:45):
That won't happen either, But if it did, you get it.
Speaker 8 (24:47):
I'll get that, I'll get you get one sixty two.
All right, So we figured this out.
Speaker 2 (24:53):
How we are going to go about it if we
both get tattoos by the end of baseball season. There
is a lot of baseball still going on, a lot
of basketball going on.
Speaker 3 (25:00):
Martin White at the News, tell us.
Speaker 1 (25:02):
What's happening right now.
Speaker 12 (25:05):
Michigan State has been on a run like a nine
to ozer run over the last two minutes. Auburn's missed
the last four field world attempts to cut the margin
to eight twenty three to fifteen to score with just
under seven minutes left in the first half. For the
winner of this will be the fourth and final team
to go to the Final Four. We saw the third
one earlier today. This, of course, on the men's side
(25:26):
of things, Houston top to Tennessee sixty nine to fifty
to fifteen points. The Tennessee scored in the first half
lower than was it the few was by top two
seed in the first half in any NCAA tournament game.
Houston going to their seventh final four in program history.
Duke in Florida round out the rest of the four,
obviously Michigan State in Auburn fighting to be the fourth
(25:47):
women's sided things. South Carolina advanced to their four fifth
straight final four that they beat Duke fifty four to fifty.
And we just saw once at UCLA beat LSU seventy
two to sixty five to advance to the first final
four in UCLA program history. The Yankees this the phrases,
guys speak softly and carried a big stick. How can
we all know about these home run bats? That's what
(26:09):
I'm curious about. Chislem homer twice yesterday, like today? What
are we doing? Aaron Judge, you were right? One run,
I mean one hit run score. He had a two
run homer in the first inning. He's on track to
quick math four over the last two days. Three hundred
and eight yeah, yeah, yeah, there's only one hundred and
six to two games in a baseball season.
Speaker 1 (26:26):
I believe it.
Speaker 3 (26:26):
I believe in him.
Speaker 13 (26:28):
Joe chas chislm at five over Eyes.
Speaker 12 (26:29):
That shows Yot's going for New York right now, twelve
to three, the score over Milwaukee, who has been outscored
quick Math twenty two to twelve. In the last two days,
Nationals outscored the Phillies five to one.
Speaker 1 (26:41):
Blue Jays topped the Orioles.
Speaker 13 (26:43):
Three to one. Max Scherzer, who's a Blue Jay.
Speaker 12 (26:45):
He's on the fifteen D day injured list with right
thumb inflammation raised beat the Rocky six to four. Marlins
with a wild pitch, walked it off to defeat the
Pirates three to two, Reds with a I'm sorry. Giants
with a six to three win over the Reds, Guardians
over Royals six to two, and the Rangers at the
Red Sox three to two.
Speaker 13 (27:05):
Right now in action, Actually, you know we'll do NBA.
How about that? The Cavaliers right now with a one
to sixteen to one oh eight lead over the Clippers.
Speaker 12 (27:14):
Clippers have been fourth quarter plus nine, so this game
was not this closed a minute ago. Maybe they can
keep it off for you, Montchie, What do.
Speaker 1 (27:20):
You think I mean?
Speaker 3 (27:21):
I believe it them.
Speaker 13 (27:23):
Okay, well, good time.
Speaker 3 (27:23):
I'm ready to go to the finals.
Speaker 13 (27:26):
Ready to go to the finals?
Speaker 12 (27:27):
She is, Okay, got a rain delay in Chicago the
Angels and the White Sox in the bottom of the
seventh they're chilling tied to to let you know when
that one.
Speaker 13 (27:37):
Starts back up. Bottom of the fifth inning.
Speaker 12 (27:38):
The Cubs lead the Diamondbacks one to nothing, Mariners over
the A's two to one.
Speaker 13 (27:44):
Top of the seventh inning.
Speaker 1 (27:45):
Back to you, guys.
Speaker 5 (27:47):
You know what's crazy?
Speaker 6 (27:48):
Like winning a game on a wild pitch or losing
a game on a wild pitch.
Speaker 5 (27:53):
That's so little league.
Speaker 6 (27:54):
Yeah, and it happens obviously all the time. I would
hate to lose that way.
Speaker 1 (27:57):
It's one of the worst ways, is Okay.
Speaker 2 (27:59):
What's losing on a wild pitch, losing on a contested
three shot like desperate shot and you foul them and
then they you know, they win it off.
Speaker 1 (28:13):
That or losing.
Speaker 2 (28:18):
On a field goal as time expires.
Speaker 6 (28:23):
Yeah, because it's just like normal execution, right, It's like execution,
throw the ball to the plate and catch the ball.
Speaker 13 (28:30):
I gotta I gotta question similar to this, Okay, go
for it. Carry your professional athlete.
Speaker 12 (28:36):
The fiercest we can worry which is the most embarrassing
sport to mess up?
Speaker 5 (28:41):
At?
Speaker 1 (28:42):
Baseball?
Speaker 13 (28:43):
Football? Basketball?
Speaker 12 (28:46):
House It because like a football stiff arm or like
you get cooked and the receiver just cooks you. Baseball
you you know, you just you know, Benny Hill, the
ball in the outfield, here.
Speaker 1 (28:55):
We go, he said, it's recent or.
Speaker 13 (29:00):
Basketball getting crossed over, getting dunked on. You know which
one is the.
Speaker 1 (29:03):
Most embarrassing, like getting your ankles broken?
Speaker 5 (29:05):
I actually think it's the basketball one.
Speaker 6 (29:08):
Yeah, just because of the visibility right football, like you
may know the name, but you got the helmet on,
you're kind of covered up.
Speaker 1 (29:14):
That's a really good point.
Speaker 5 (29:15):
It's a real thing.
Speaker 1 (29:16):
Oh that is so true.
Speaker 2 (29:17):
And also like in football, I feel like you we
look for those plays like we want to see the
explosive plays.
Speaker 3 (29:22):
We want somebody to do that.
Speaker 2 (29:24):
You don't really think like yeah, like sometimes oh he
got blown whatever. But when you break someone's ankles in
the NBA and you just see the person wobble, maybe
even fall, maybe like just that's pretty embarrassing.
Speaker 6 (29:38):
Think about the old the I think it Lebron was
still in Miami and they threw the wade through the
oop to him, Lebron and he dunks on Jason Terror
he falls. Yes, the memes were constant. They had this
man going through the floor of the of the arena
into his own casket in the ground.
Speaker 2 (29:59):
I was like, people, gig creative, grow creative, real creative,
and that one if Lebron dunks on you, I don't
feel like that's that embarrassing, right, like.
Speaker 5 (30:09):
Not normally, not normally the way they.
Speaker 1 (30:11):
Handled this one.
Speaker 2 (30:13):
Yeah, but it's like if Lebron dunked on you, you'd
be like, Lebron dunk tell.
Speaker 3 (30:16):
Me, But like if Chris Paul breaks your ankles.
Speaker 1 (30:19):
You're like, damn you guys aren't even bringing up the
worst one, which is the worst, the shock dunk on
Chris Dudley.
Speaker 5 (30:25):
Oh yeah, and he puts them down after too.
Speaker 13 (30:29):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (30:29):
I mean I think of Blake Griffin Dunky and you guys
probably won't remember this one on Kendrick Perkins and also
also kind of like uses his body.
Speaker 1 (30:41):
Look that one up.
Speaker 2 (30:41):
And I the reason I have it so visually in
my head is because we had a poster in my
parents garage of him dunking on Perk like that, and.
Speaker 1 (30:48):
It's one of the like it's it just looks nasty.
Speaker 3 (30:50):
But it's the still shot.
Speaker 2 (30:51):
It's visual and I think you make you hit it
right on the head though the helmet makes.
Speaker 1 (30:56):
The differences difference because.
Speaker 3 (30:57):
You can actually see the player like.
Speaker 5 (30:59):
That, Like, that wasn't me.
Speaker 3 (31:01):
That wasn't me.
Speaker 1 (31:02):
You can't prove it. I had somebody else that wore
my jersey that game.
Speaker 5 (31:05):
I could flip it.
Speaker 1 (31:06):
You can't prove it was me. Real quick, wants you
played volleyball? How did you not bring up the headshot?
Speaker 3 (31:13):
Getting hit in the face, Yeah, that is like.
Speaker 1 (31:15):
One of the most embarrassing things.
Speaker 2 (31:17):
It's only embarrassing if it doesn't go back over I have.
If you dig it with your face.
Speaker 1 (31:22):
It, yeah, it's cool. But if you get hit and
it's a point. Oh. I had a kid one time
hit me in the face and do a bow and
arrow thing to me. It was the most embarrassed. I
literally didn't know what to do. I was like, I
take me out.
Speaker 2 (31:38):
Coach was like, you know, I don't think I have
been hit in the like straight a six pack.
Speaker 1 (31:45):
No, I know what you're talking about. I have not
had it happen to me.
Speaker 2 (31:48):
So maybe that's why I didn't think about it. But
I've seen it happen.
Speaker 5 (31:51):
So he spiked it in your face, shade Dan, get
the boy and narrow right back and.
Speaker 1 (31:55):
Right back up. I was just like, come on, dude,
he's coming for you.
Speaker 5 (31:59):
Then you will.
Speaker 1 (32:01):
That is a good one. Yeah, there we go.
Speaker 2 (32:02):
I was like, I turn my mic off because I
had a cough because as you can see, friends, I
know I do that I've got I know I've lost
my voice.
Speaker 6 (32:10):
So you know, well, if they forgot them, they'd be

we're gonna get into next. Lebron's recent comments about Yannis
playing back in the day in the NBA, Jannis responded,
he did, what did he have to say? We'll get
(32:51):
right into that next here on Fox Sports Sunday.

Speaker 2 (33:08):
I'm Monci Belanyas alongside former All Pro safety Carry Roads,
hanging out with you.
Speaker 3 (33:13):
Lots of sports going on right now.
Speaker 2 (33:15):
If you're wondering how Auburn and Michigan State are going
with two minutes to go in the first half, Auburn
is up right now, twenty nine to Did I see
twenty two? They took the score away from me on TV,
so to twenty two. Yeah, twenty nineteen twenty two, Thank
you Martin Weiss again, still the first half, two minutes
to go. If you're wondering how the Clippers are doing, well,
(33:36):
they cut it. They're about to cut it to four points.
Don't worry, it's gonna happen because I can see the
ESPN score is faster than my TV score. So Clippers,
I've cut the deficit to four against the Cavaliers in Cleveland,
up one twenty four to one twenty with twenty three
seconds to go. All right, Lebron James, he keeps talking
carry Olliver like he keeps just saying.
Speaker 1 (33:58):
A bunch of things.
Speaker 2 (33:59):
This past week, he was on the Pat McAfee show
and he made a comment that Jannis Anto Takompo would
score two hundred and fifty points? Was it to seventy
back in the day if he was playing, And it's like,
I thought that was a nice compliment that he was
giving a current star, right, Like I understood what Lebron
was saying, and I thought that was a nice compliment.
Speaker 3 (34:21):
But what did Yiannis have to say about that?
Speaker 14 (34:23):
Probably more of like two seventy five not to fifty.
Great compliment, but I don't I don't like you know
how you say comparing eras it's not fair. And you
know if I played in the seventies, how everybody practicing
(34:44):
and hi everybody played would have played the same way.
You know, that's all you knew at the time, and
you know the game involves and we've got to twenty
twenty and we know more it's totally different, right, So
you cannot compare this era with that era. You know,
whishid this era that I played in now twenty twenty five?
I wish I could score two hundred and fifty points today.
(35:07):
But yeah, I don't think it's fair to compare it
because I'll probably play the same way that they play
if I played in the seventies.
Speaker 3 (35:15):
Yeah, that's the right answer.
Speaker 5 (35:17):
Yeah, yeah, it's the only answer.
Speaker 2 (35:19):
It is the only answer. I never understand the comparison eras.
And obviously I did not watch you know, Larry Bird.
Speaker 1 (35:27):
I didn't watch him.
Speaker 2 (35:28):
Yeah, I can look up highlights and see, but like,
I truly don't understand how Larry Bird played because I
was too young for that. So I never understood the
eras comparison. And I thought that was the right response
on his end. And he's always he always has jokes.
Speaker 3 (35:42):
It would two seventy five.
Speaker 2 (35:43):
Yeah, I always has jokes, and I love that. I
do wonder how he would play in a more physical era.
Speaker 6 (35:52):
No, no, if you think about that era, there was
there was no freedom of movement, there was no right
like everybody was packed. Jannis would not have scored five.
Speaker 1 (36:05):
No, I don't think so either.
Speaker 5 (36:07):
It's like, it's just it's crazy to say that.
Speaker 2 (36:09):
It is, especially because of his style of play like
he is, so he moves very freely quickly for a
big dude, and so I just don't see how that
would match in a more physical era where like you said,
everybody was kind of real close together. There wasn't a
lot of open lanes and things like that. If if
you would have said this maybe about Nikola Jokic, I
(36:30):
would be like, yeah, I guess him because he plays
slow in the post he.
Speaker 3 (36:34):
Does you know, he can do all those things.
Speaker 2 (36:36):
But it's like, does Yannis have a hook shot?
Speaker 1 (36:41):
I haven't seen.
Speaker 2 (36:41):
Does Yannis have like a real post game like, I
haven't seen that, So it's funny, but I didn't. I
didn't care that Lebron was giving Yannis that high of
a compliment. It just seemed a little bit like, Okay,
well you're joking, right, you can't possibly mean this.
Speaker 6 (36:57):
He was joking a little bit there. But also why
did he say Yannis? But you know what I mean,
why did he throw his name out there? You know,
Lebron's very and calculated.
Speaker 1 (37:07):
Absolutely, I don't know, but that's no.
Speaker 5 (37:11):
But that's my point of it. Though, it's like, there's.
Speaker 6 (37:14):
No there's no just casual throwing things out there with Lebron.
Speaker 5 (37:19):
Everybody knows.
Speaker 6 (37:21):
I think there's no secret that people are saying Yannis
may be out of Milwaukee. We've heard that. Yes, we
know that they need a big man. If he was
to be the one that came to LA and they
made that happen him, Lebron and Luca come on like
there is something. There's a method to Lebron's madness always,
So don't ever think he's going to ESPN to do
(37:43):
an interview and he's not going to say the thing
he wanted to say.
Speaker 2 (37:45):
Damn, Carrie, you are You're really just You made my
jaw drop there a little bit, because you're right. Everything
is so calculated. And at the time, yes, I know
he's calculated. At the time, I thought when he was
trying to be funny and trying to like compliment a
current player.
Speaker 3 (37:58):
But I didn't even as I told you, I don't
know why him? Why not, Nicola Jokic.
Speaker 1 (38:03):
You have Carrie.
Speaker 2 (38:05):
Okay, listen, if we're sitting here next year and we
are talking about a team that is Lebron, Luca and Giannis,
I will lose it. There is no way that we
are going to see that in the future. That would
be highly unfair.
Speaker 5 (38:20):
We thought we were gonna see Luca Lebron.
Speaker 2 (38:22):
Is it? Yeah, Nico here is he still around? I
I hear he doesn't go to home games. He does,
he does not make appearances. Why aren't you standing on
where your decision here? My guy, you should be proud
of what you've done. Wow, that is quite.
Speaker 3 (38:36):
Interesting, Carrie.
Speaker 5 (38:38):
What are they missing?
Speaker 3 (38:39):
No, they are missing. You know what they're missing?
Speaker 2 (38:41):
Avitsa Zubats had they had who they had and then
they traded him to the Clippers. Thank you very much
because he is one of our stars. No, you're right,
that is a big piece of what they are missing.
Speaker 1 (38:53):
And but that No.
Speaker 5 (38:55):
He could have said anybody Manti, Carrie.
Speaker 2 (38:58):
He could have said anybody that's that would be people.
Speaker 1 (39:03):
Would riot everybody outside of La everyone outside.
Speaker 3 (39:07):
I mean we're in LA. So people would ride out
of happiness. People would riot that.
Speaker 2 (39:11):
That would be nuts. If that ends up happening some way.
Speaker 1 (39:15):
Somehow, they gotta get Lebron.
Speaker 5 (39:17):
That's six.
Speaker 2 (39:18):
They gotta get Lebron that six, or why not give
Curry the six?
Speaker 1 (39:22):
Doesn't Curry have five? Krey has four? Four, it's four.
Speaker 2 (39:24):
Maybe get Curry four the fifth one. So then all
of a sudden it gets even more interesting. This is
just one of the many things that Lebron James said
this week on the Pat McAfee show, you and I,
you know, talked earlier in the week and said we're
gonna dive into it. So we're gonna dive into that.
On the other side of this, don't go anywhere. I'm Moncey,
(39:45):
He's Carry and you're listening to Fox Sports Sunday. That's right,
Happy Sunday, Fox Sports Sunday. Here with you Mancy belagyas
alongside former All Bro Safety Carry Roads. You know, some
people live a calculated life. I don't because it seems
like it's a lot of work to live a calculated life,
is right.
Speaker 3 (40:05):
It's like I also don't like lying. That's too much work.
Speaker 1 (40:07):
I have to keep track of the lie.
Speaker 2 (40:09):
Who did I tell it to? Who didn't I tell
it to? You know, I just want to live a
simple life. Not everybody does that. We are broadcasting live
from the tyrec dot com studios. Tirect dot com will
help you get there an unmatched selection that's free shipping,
free road hazard protections, and over ten thousand recommended in
stallars tyrect dot com the way tirebine should be. I
know you like to live a simple life. Yeah, you
(40:29):
also are very no complications, no drama. Hey, nobody got
time for that, no time, you just it's just a lot,
a lot of work. And this week, you know, speaking
of calculated lives, Lebron James lives a very calculated life.
Oh yeah, yeah, yeah, absolutely. You know, if you missed
the last hour. In the last segment, we talked about
how it was a bit calculated that he mentioned Yanni
(40:51):
Santa ta Kumpo being able to score two hundred and
fifty points in a different era in the NBA, and
carry Roads hit it right on the head. Hey are
you telling Yan let's play together? Because why did you
pick Jiannis? Giannest would not do well in a more
physical era. It could have been maybe Nikola Jokic, who
actually has a post game, who probably has a hook shot.
Speaker 3 (41:11):
I've never seen Yann to stake a hook shot.
Speaker 2 (41:13):
And so one of the many crazy things that Lebron
said this past week, embiid just.
Speaker 5 (41:20):
Like any of those skilled.
Speaker 1 (41:22):
People, literally so many options.
Speaker 2 (41:25):
You went with Jannis, who is skilled, just not in
a different way. Absolutely, but Yannis not sorry, but Lebron, Lebron,
who does live in a calculated life, has had many things
to say lately to stephen A, and stephen A.
Speaker 1 (41:40):
Has also had things to say back.
Speaker 2 (41:42):
Now, obviously this started withhold the browny James and now
here we are where he decides very calculated move to
go on the Pat McAfee show.
Speaker 3 (41:53):
Why calculated because Pat.
Speaker 2 (41:54):
McAfee's it's kind of stephen A's competition at ESPN. Oh, absolutely,
they they don't operate the same way and there's definitely
a bit of competition. What did Lebron say on the
Pat McAfee show this past week about stephen A.
Speaker 13 (42:10):
He's like on a Taylor Swift tour run right now.
Speaker 5 (42:13):
Oh yeah, we're watching.
Speaker 15 (42:14):
I mean, if there's one person that couldn't wait to
the video or to drop so you can address it
is your ass. Like seriously, he completely like missed the
whole point. Never would I ever not allow people to
talk about the sport, criticize players about what they do
on the court.
Speaker 13 (42:33):
That is your job.
Speaker 16 (42:34):
But when you take it and you get personal with it,
it's my job to not only protect my damn household,
but protect the players.
Speaker 3 (42:43):
You guys can't see. I know you guys can't see
Kerry and I looking at each other.
Speaker 5 (42:46):
Never have I however, was he playing a kid's game?
Speaker 1 (42:49):
What exactly?
Speaker 3 (42:49):
And also, you're literally lying through your teeth.
Speaker 2 (42:52):
You're lying through your teeth because this didn't get personal
until you made it personally, until you have that moment
in the third quarter against the Knicks to go say
something to him, where somebody was filming your side of
the camera, like your angle, only we didn't see stephen
A's angle. That is the beginning of how this became personal.
(43:14):
Because listen, you can dislike stephen A all you want,
if you hate him, I get it right, But his
criticism always came of Bronnie the basketball player, and I
feel like everyone's criticism was Bronnie the basketball player, never
Bronnie the individual. Nobody dislikes Bronnie James. No, everyone is
rooting for him, everybody. But you are in the NBA,
(43:35):
and you are the son of Lebron James, and you
did enter the NBA earlier than most people thought. That
is the most common sense thing. You entered way too early.
But once you're in, you get criticized because you're in
the NBA and Lebron's saying that, It's like, what are
you talking about? Do you think we haven't seen this
from the beginning, unfold.
Speaker 5 (43:56):
And unravel right in the words of Stephen A.
Speaker 6 (43:59):
Smith is blossoms. No, it's he is. Lebron is doing
some some very weird stuff lately. He's stirring the pot
as well. And you talk about talk about one to
take care of the players. I don't think that's ever
been part of his agenda, not at all. It's always
been about him.
Speaker 17 (44:19):
Yep.
Speaker 6 (44:19):
So when did that change and why are you making
it known right now? Like the things he's doing, like
like we talked about, they're all calculated.
Speaker 5 (44:30):
I don't know what he has.
Speaker 6 (44:32):
I mean, I do know some of the stuff that
he wants to do after Like he wants to own
a team, he wants to be a part of ownership groups. Yes,
so all these things are he's just laying the blueprint
out for that.
Speaker 5 (44:44):
He doesn't really care.
Speaker 6 (44:45):
I mean, obviously if you're if he felt that Stephen,
they was making the personal about his son. We talked
about this, talk about it together off the camera. Yes,
man to man, that's the quickest way to settle any
issue going on air, To air your grievances to the
world that's not directly correlated to Stephen a quote unquote
(45:11):
that only makes more confusion because now Stephen Ay Smith
his job is to come back at you. It's not
like he's going out of his way to do that.
That's his job. I'm sure his bosses over at ESPN said,
you have to address this. This isn't something that Steve
Nate's doing by himself, and you know.
Speaker 2 (45:30):
He wants to address it like that's, like you said,
his job, his personality from the beginning, this is what
he does. He's not a former athlete dealing with the
current athlete. That's not what this is. This is a
a media personality journalist. But I don't even know if
journalists are still thing now because of the way we
operate in the media. But Stephen A is definitely not
(45:52):
doing anything wrong by speaking on it. When Lebron speaks
on it, absolutely not. And to say that Taylor he's
on a Taylor Swift tour, spy, you're on a Taylor
Swift tour, Like I mean, if.
Speaker 5 (46:06):
It isn't, If it isn't Taylor, who is, it's somebody else.
Speaker 1 (46:10):
Cha chaperone was not.
Speaker 2 (46:11):
That new or Sabrina Carpenter care we go, You're a
Sabrina Carpenter. You're like, you're you're both doing the same thing.
And in reality, Lebron, you started this. That's what's crazy
to me. You started it because you could have had
that private conversation with him at any given time, at
any given time, and the way you chose to start this,
maybe you just didn't think steven A was gonna say
anything back, which is stupid of you to think that
(46:32):
stephen A He's not gonna say something back to you,
and then goes on to this aside from the comments
on stephen A, another thing that he said, this is
the one thing. Everything else I'm enjoying, Like this is like,
bring me the popcorn, please keep this going. This is
absolute cinema for me. You know, this drama going on
between Lebron and stephen A. Brian Windhorse he caught some
(46:55):
strays that I did not understand.
Speaker 1 (46:57):
Carry I was like, I've never.
Speaker 2 (46:59):
Thought Brian has implied that you guys are best friends.
Speaker 6 (47:04):
Never and even think about this though, even after the
weird the weird attack from uh, you know, from Lebron
to Brian Windhorst.
Speaker 5 (47:16):
What did Brian windhors do the next day?
Speaker 1 (47:19):
Gentlemen? So cool, gentlemen, and and it's done, and it's done.
Speaker 5 (47:24):
Nobody we got the we got the audio.
Speaker 1 (47:26):
If you guys got that bring up, that's perfect.
Speaker 16 (47:31):
See a lot of too, Like I've seen Brian Wainhurst
one of these shows not you guys played together, the
guy who was like, you know, says he's like my
best friend.
Speaker 13 (47:43):
These guys are just just weird.
Speaker 1 (47:45):
When I never never said it.
Speaker 3 (47:47):
Not one time. I heard that.
Speaker 2 (47:49):
Brian Windhorse then went on an interview and then was
asked about that, and Brian was like, Lebron doesn't owe
me anything. Lebron has been great for my community and
where I'm from, and he doesn't owe me anything. And
that was like, Brian, good for you, because you could
have said something, you could have made this more than
it is, right, but that's it.
Speaker 1 (48:08):
He kind of shut it down.
Speaker 6 (48:10):
That's how you handle that stuff. That's how I promise
you that's the way to go. I mean, number one,
nobody's looking at Brian Winhorse anymore about that situation like
it's that's already under the rug and he looks like
the bigger man and that's that's always the best way,
the best course of.
Speaker 5 (48:25):
Action for me.
Speaker 1 (48:26):
I like, I got the exact quote right here here. Yeah, perfect.
So Lebron doesn't owe me anything. I owe him a lot.
He has been great friend to my hometown and my
alma mater that I should that I would stand on
anything else I would never say or never stand on.
So not only did he say I never claimed to
be his best friend, the dude went on to say
(48:48):
I owe him a lot.
Speaker 10 (48:49):
Yep.
Speaker 1 (48:50):
So it's like also the way Lebron was saying and cussing,
and I'm just like, dude, like, what do you like.
I'm a Lebron fan. I think he's the goat. I'm
a Laker fan. That was disgusting. It really like, what
are you doing? Bro? You're how old are you? You
got three kids? Like, what are you doing?
Speaker 13 (49:04):
Bro?
Speaker 2 (49:04):
I couldn't agree more. It's like this whole thing with
Steven A. It's like, well, like I said, I'm enjoying it.
Go ahead, both of you be petty.
Speaker 1 (49:11):
I don't care.
Speaker 2 (49:12):
This is great for me because none of you looks
better than the other. I think they think that they're
beating each other, right, And it's like, y'all are both petty.
Speaker 3 (49:21):
And this is just pure entertainment for the rest of us.
Speaker 2 (49:24):
Brian Windhors definitely caught some strays that did not deserve He's.
Speaker 1 (49:28):
Done none of that.
Speaker 2 (49:29):
And even he knows like he has built this career
on Lebron because they went to the same school, not
at the same time, but they went to this same area,
and it's like he has built his career on this
and to say that when he could have, you know,
chose to be petty as well and called out things
he chose not to. Now, I will say, Steven A,
(49:51):
I don't understand how you say things that are inaccurate
all the time, like calling Lebron out on certain things.
Speaker 1 (50:00):
He called out Lebron about not being at Kobe's memorial. Yeah,
that was he was.
Speaker 2 (50:06):
He was there, and I remember I remember watching the
memorial and there was just not a lot of attention
on Lebron because he didn't speak, He didn't have a speech,
didn't say anything. But I remember they panned him one
time and I was like, oh, there he is, because
in my head I was like, I wonder, who's there, right,
But he just he didn't have any He wasn't sitting
with like Michael and Shock and Diana Tarassi who were
all going to say something right, but he was there.
Speaker 1 (50:28):
I what Supposedly Lebron even asked to not be a
part of it and then he like didn't want to
get shown on cameras, he didn't want to be a
part of it at all. Supposedly, that's something that came
out and he asked. And it's funny that you say
that too, because one of the craziest people in this industry,
Charles Barkley, literally came out and was like, I don't
like that Lebron is bullying. Yeah, but I also think
(50:51):
that Steven A. Smith is very weak for his responses
and it's it's honestly something that a lot of people
agree with, and a lot of people agree with you
that on that mon scene. I think I agree with
you on that as well, where it's like, what are
we doing, bro, Like, I'm not in high school and
we're not fighting over a girl. We're like I remember
watching like the video came out this week. I'm sure
you guys have seen it of Lebron and Stephen A.
Smith doing an interview years ago, years ago, and it's
(51:14):
literally buttering each other up. You think they're gonna hook
up after, So it's like it's just something that. I
feel like at this point it's turning into a UFC
pay per view event and it's these guys just trying
to promote something that isn't even a thing. So it's like,
what are we doing? Like, you guys are already the
two biggest people. They both have the craziest contracts. Steven A.
(51:35):
Smith too is probably the most paid person. I don't
know if that's true or not, but it's probably one
of the most paid people at ESPN. So it's like,
why are you guys just tarnishing your guys's name. It
doesn't make sense to me. And what is the end goal?
Like where where does this end? How does this end?
That's where I'm at.
Speaker 5 (51:51):
Now it's gonna it's going to be a blood bag.
Speaker 1 (51:55):
That's the thing.
Speaker 3 (51:56):
No, it's not, it's not.
Speaker 2 (51:58):
Nobody's gonna know one's gonna swing at Noddy and there's
no punches are going to be thrown, you know, like
Lebron knows that he could probably kick his butt easily.
Stephen A knows he's gonna kick my butt.
Speaker 7 (52:08):
You no, No.
Speaker 6 (52:09):
The most petty part of it all was the post
on Instagram.
Speaker 5 (52:14):
From the box.
Speaker 1 (52:17):
Oh I heard about that Steve those Week hooks. Yeah,
I was like, oh man, that was bad, petty.
Speaker 3 (52:22):
And again, what is the ultimate goal here? Martin Weiss with.
Speaker 12 (52:27):
Week is tough because the man is sixty years old.
But I think you guys are missing the big question.
Speaker 1 (52:31):
What's the big question?
Speaker 12 (52:33):
Because obviously this is all silly, but how do you
advance the conversation?
Speaker 16 (52:36):
Right?
Speaker 12 (52:36):
The question is over under four and a half stephen
A's to beat Lebron? Oh yeah, like you know what
I'm saying in a cage match, like if you had
five stephen a clones, is that enough?
Speaker 13 (52:49):
Is three enough?
Speaker 12 (52:50):
Because I think like, look, let's be honest, like Lebron
could take steven A and throw him.
Speaker 1 (52:53):
Like a football right right right, and there's no question
just just off the strength.
Speaker 12 (52:56):
These what third twenty five years younger, thirty years younger
and an incredible athlete and you know obviously at the
you know, height of his game. So like three and
a half, four and a half, where would you set
the line and then which one would.
Speaker 2 (53:08):
You How many stephen A's are needed against one Lebron?
Speaker 12 (53:12):
I feel like it's got to be at least four
because you can then you can come at all sides
right come right side, and because like it's just three,
then Lebron could get the one with the right, one
with the left and then you know, kick around with
the other. One's got to be at least four. That's
my opinion.
Speaker 1 (53:26):
I mean, I feel like three could do it, though.
Speaker 5 (53:28):
Yeah, I think I think.
Speaker 6 (53:31):
A little a few, a few bitten kneecaps and go
for the eyes, you know, hit the toe hard.
Speaker 1 (53:37):
Maybe one stephen A Smith will like really get beaten
down bad, but the other two could finish it.
Speaker 5 (53:42):
One Stephen is going to be really injured, yeah, absolutely.
Speaker 2 (53:45):
One will be down for the count, can't breathe, absolutely, and.
Speaker 3 (53:49):
The other two will come in.
Speaker 12 (53:50):
I think it's three, you know, like the matrix, you know,
the agent just continues and continues to make stephen A's Yeah.
Speaker 2 (53:57):
Maybe we can ask Mark Medina on the other side
of this, because it was active about this and so
much more in the NBA. Tractor supply, though, knows that

Speaker 1 (55:08):
Safety Carry Roads, and we are.
Speaker 2 (55:12):
Just getting into the NBA because aside from Lebron James
and the whole stephen A saga, which you know, it's
not over right, Like it's not over. That's what's exciting
about it because something else is gonna happen.
Speaker 3 (55:26):
I just don't know what.
Speaker 5 (55:28):
What do you think? Over under?
Speaker 1 (55:30):
Over under? Who's next?
Speaker 18 (55:32):
Yeah, it's got I feel like it's gonna be stephen
A next to say something because Lebron and the Lakers
are probably trying to focus right now on the season
they need.
Speaker 1 (55:44):
They should, they absolutely should.
Speaker 6 (55:46):
Uh.
Speaker 3 (55:46):
You know, the West is a tight race, which we.
Speaker 2 (55:49):
Are getting ready to talk to our NBA Fox Sports
insider Mark Medina about Mark.
Speaker 1 (55:56):
Are you there?
Speaker 4 (55:58):
I am here, Mark?
Speaker 1 (55:59):
How are you doing great?
Speaker 4 (56:02):
Talking MBA with you and Carrie?
Speaker 2 (56:04):
Yes, you know, a little sad that the Clippers weren't
able to pull that off, but it's okay. I did
not mind the performance with al Kawhi Leonard against the
Cleveland Cavaliers.
Speaker 1 (56:12):
I'm all, I'm okay, I'm okay.
Speaker 4 (56:16):
Are you sure about that?
Speaker 1 (56:17):
I'm okay? I really am? I really am?
Speaker 5 (56:19):
She's okay, Mark, because I was I was taking the
temperature on that.
Speaker 2 (56:22):
Yeah yeah, yeah, yeah. And you know, I know that
the West is a really tight race right now. But
the big story, Mark that I want to get going
with is what happened with Taylor Jenkins and the Memphis Grizzlies,
Like it makes no sense.
Speaker 4 (56:38):
It doesn't make any sense. I mean, this is a
team that's in fifth place in the Western Conference Finals,
or one of many teams that considered a good playoff team,
and they've had a lot of injuries this season, most
notably to Ja Moran. I think that, you know, the
more I think about it, the more you talk to
people around the league, it's not surprising that Taylor Jenkins
(56:59):
was let go. And here wide, the writing on the
wall took place last summer when the front office imposed
to him to make some staffing changes around, you know,
his assistant coaches. And usually when that happens, that's a
not so subtle way of saying, we want to be
more in charge. You don't have as much autonomy. So
that's number one. Number two, I think when you're looking
(57:19):
at the Grizzlies trajectory, you know they have a lot
of good young talent, but there's fenness feeling that they've underachieved,
that they haven't quite put it together enough to make
that next step. But I argue that really has nothing
to do with Taylor Jenkins. It has mostly do with injuries.
Has a little bit to do with John Moran his
suspension last season and his immature behavior off the court,
(57:42):
and I think the young players as well. Now this
season they did turn a corner. There's a lot, you know,
I think more professionalism in the locker room, and people
will talk about how Jaws improved as a leader. It
helps at Jaron Jackson Juniors. There in a dozen veins there.
But none of this makes any sense. The other thing
also doesn't make any sense. If you're going to do
a coaching change just before the playoffs, that only adds
(58:06):
more instability. There's this feeling that sometimes in the short term,
when you make a change, whether it's good or not,
it creates this adrenaline rush and the players want to,
you know, show that they're not the problem. But that's
too much of a risk to gamble in the playoffs.
What's most likely going to happen is, you know, the downside,
when you make a coaching change mid season or late
(58:27):
in the season, you don't have a training camp, it
takes time for guys to get used to the new
system and all that. So it couldn't have happened at
the worst time to be honest with you, it's really
hard for me.
Speaker 2 (58:38):
To believe that there was no drama between him and
John Morant.
Speaker 6 (58:41):
I was just about to say that, so that Mark
the thing about oh, go ahead, go ahead, Mark ahead.
Speaker 4 (58:45):
Well, I was gonna say, here's the ironic part for
Minders saying John Moran is a huge Tailor Jenkins fan.
And I know that, you know Zach Kleman and every
front office person, they're never going to blame the players
for why they made a coaching change. They'll always ownership
of it, whether it's true or not. But I do
believe that Jah was in Taylor Jenkins' corner because some
(59:08):
of Jos's frustrations this season had to do with the
fact that he was frustrated with how the different assistants
were let go and he doesn't like the new play calls,
and that's not what Taylor Jenkins was trying to do.
That was front officer of him. And so with that,
if you are all connecting to Dodd, you do wonder
(59:28):
what's the Grizzlies investment in John Morant moving forward? Now
they've been on records saying John Moran's not going anywhere.
It's that climbate address speculation around the league that they
might trade Jaw at some point. So that's not happening.
That's pure fantasy. But you know, actions speak louder than
the words here, so I guess we'll have to stay tuned.
Speaker 6 (59:48):
I got another question about a head coach situation. So
in Sacramento they let go of Mike Brown, Doug Christy's
been running the ship in the second half of the season.
What's going to happen with that team? Dave, you talk
about a team underachieve and that's been the team for me.
What's the I guess what's the prognosis or diagnosis around
that team moving forward in their franchise.
Speaker 4 (01:00:08):
Yeah, that's an interesting question, carry because they, you know,
made the firing with Mike Brown with the idea to
give Doug Christy the role. They know him very well
as a former player, He's been around the organization and
this is kind of a trial period. But you know,
things could very well change with that, and I want
(01:00:29):
to be surprised if you know the Sacramento Kings, as
well as many other NBA games for that matter, talk
to Taylor Jenkins about Hey, what do you think you're
out of a job here? What do you think about
joining here now? I think, at least in the present
right now as we speak, they've credited Doug Christie a
lot for you know what he's inherited. They felt like
(01:00:51):
he was able to get a better pulse with the
players than Mike Brown. But there's been a lot of change,
and you do wonder what's the endgame here? Because they
fire Mike Brow, they get rid of de Aaron Fox,
and we know that Daron Fox was a Mike Brown fan.
Even though there was some thought when it happened that
dearon Fox is responsible for Mike Brown being driven out,
(01:01:13):
when I think it was almost the exact opposite that
de Aaron didn't want him out. And so I think
when we're looking at both the big picture with Sacramento
and Memphis, when you're looking at front office changes and
all these moving parts, a lot of times these things
create more problems than it solved. So it's going to
(01:01:35):
be a wild offsuit.
Speaker 2 (01:01:37):
So last week I asked, carry, do you think that
the problems within the Knicks are beyond just the Jalen
Brunson injury. We both feel like maybe there's a bit
of something going on beyond that.
Speaker 3 (01:01:52):
In the locker room.
Speaker 1 (01:01:52):
Are we off on that feeling?
Speaker 4 (01:01:56):
We never truly know, But I feel like the bigger problems, Yes,
the jail brunts, an injury is real. He's a very
valuable player. I think the bigger problem is that, you
know what, Boston Cleveland, they're just a better team right now.
And I think that they made the right move to
trade to get Karl Anthony Towns. He's a better fit
than it was with Juyce Randall. From just a spacing standpoint,
(01:02:19):
Kats elevated his defense. But I think that you know,
when you're looking at the mcal Bridges acquisitions, I think
the Knicks we're expecting to get a lot more in return.
He was seen as someone who's always dependable from both
a production standpoint and an availability standpoint, and we've seen that,
you know what, giving up seven first round picks and
expecting McHale to be a main guy, it just isn't realistic.
(01:02:43):
I mean, he is very good when he's in a
complimentary role, and when he was the guy with the nets,
it's because that organization was in disarray. So with the Knicks, yeah,
there might be some changes in the offseason, but I
don't think that there's any prom problems with Tom Thibodeau's coaching.
I don't think there's any problems as far as Jalen
(01:03:04):
Brunson and the fit with Karl Anthone Towns when available,
they have a lot of good role players of Josh
hart O Gananovia. I think if they're just about finding
the right you know, missing piece or two for them
to then make that next step. But you know what,
in fairness to Boston and Cleveland, that's just a lot
of talent and depth that's hard to overcome. But I
don't think it's enough where the knick Ship conclude. You
(01:03:27):
know what, we got to blow this up and start
from scratch, because we've seen what happens with the knixt
one that when that occurs, Mark.
Speaker 6 (01:03:34):
I got so this, this is this is where I
stand right now with that. So out west from four
to about eight, there's there's a jumble for those positions
in those spots. Are you how confident are you at
stand Pat with the Lakers Memphis in Golden State being
(01:03:55):
those teams that avoid the play to play in Do
you think that stands Pat or do you think the
Clippers Minnesota can move up and take one of those
spots or two of those spots.
Speaker 4 (01:04:04):
You know, as we speak now and next two weeks,
this is going to change everything.
Speaker 5 (01:04:09):
I need absolute concrete right now.
Speaker 6 (01:04:12):
I need but what I.
Speaker 4 (01:04:13):
Was gonna say, I will give you the concrete answer.
It's going to fluctuate standings wise. But here's where I
feel about the teams. You know, barring major injuries, right,
I think the Grizzlies, they shot themselves in the foot
with the with the Taylor Jenkins firing, they're going to
be a quick playoff out. The Lakers, I think that
they are in contending status, but things have to go
(01:04:35):
right their way. We've seen the defensive returns that were
surprisingly high after the Anthony Davis trade come back down
to earth. So I think their second round at best.
I think the Warriors they have an outside chance on
making a title run because the fit with Jimmy Butler
and step Curry is really great, makes them very offensively diverse.
(01:04:57):
Clippers Kawhi Leonards a lot healthier that it was in
past seasons. But I think that they're a good team,
but not a great team. So I think when they
go up against Oklahoma City or Denver, it's gonna be
a competitive series, but not quite enough Minnesota. I think
Andy Edwards has taken another leap. I think Rudy Gobert
has gotten more comfortable. But I think that they're just
(01:05:19):
due to be one and done as well.
Speaker 2 (01:05:22):
All right, Mark, last one. You don't have to answer
this if you don't want yes, you.
Speaker 4 (01:05:30):
Don't have to pressure fear pressure.
Speaker 1 (01:05:32):
All right.
Speaker 2 (01:05:33):
We were just discussing how many stephen A Smith's would
it take to beat Lebron in a ball?
Speaker 4 (01:05:41):
So like one Lebron God.
Speaker 2 (01:05:43):
Versus like three stephen A's for stephen A's, what would
it take? We all kind of have set about three
stephen A's might be able to take down Lebron.
Speaker 1 (01:05:51):
What do you think?
Speaker 8 (01:05:54):
Yeah?
Speaker 4 (01:05:54):
Maybe four or five?
Speaker 7 (01:05:56):
Four?
Speaker 4 (01:05:58):
Mark, and here here where it is. It's the same
asage that you know, if you throw a double or
triple team at a star player, it might shut them
down or contest a shot successfully. But from a strength standpoint,
I think it would it would take like ten to fifteen. Wow,
I mean Lebron sixth stage, he's got the size of
a fullback here. You know, it's just it's it's not
(01:06:22):
a winning competition. I remember when Mike Tyson came back
and I'm forgetting the uh the boxer's name, but he
beat him in like twenty seconds. I think that if
we saw a boxing matches Lebron Stephen that.
Speaker 2 (01:06:35):
Yeah, no, we agree, it's just one Stephen over in
older twenty seconds.
Speaker 4 (01:06:39):
Yeah yeah, Peeve McNeely, is that right? We'll look it
up on YouTube. Might fight that last about twenty seconds?
Speaker 1 (01:06:46):
Yeah, you're not.
Speaker 3 (01:06:47):
You might not be wrong on there. But man four
to five, Oh, we didn't think that many, we.
Speaker 5 (01:06:51):
Said first, but he ended up at thirty thirty seven,
he said at the end.
Speaker 2 (01:06:54):
Yeah, right, you're right. Mark, We appreciate you so much much.
If you want to follow Mark, it's Mark g underscore
Medina on X and you can see him on TV
covering La hoops all over the place.
Speaker 1 (01:07:07):
Mark, we appreciate you.
Speaker 3 (01:07:09):
Talk to you soon.
Speaker 4 (01:07:10):
Monsy Caret appreciates you and keep doing the best Sunday show.
Speaker 1 (01:07:14):
We're trying.
Speaker 3 (01:07:15):
We're trying, all right, Martin, did you hear that?
Speaker 12 (01:07:19):
Thirty seven eighty nine seconds was how long the fight
lasted between Mike Tyson and Pete McNeely.
Speaker 1 (01:07:26):
So that's but the question that.
Speaker 12 (01:07:28):
We didn't get to follow up with Mark and I
know do they so thirty seven?
Speaker 6 (01:07:33):
Okay, okay, I think I'll say at thirty all right,
what's just called thirty six?
Speaker 12 (01:07:38):
So we could have an even number? Here are we
sending waves? Are we sending like three waves? I mean
twelve waves of three?
Speaker 10 (01:07:45):
Right?
Speaker 7 (01:07:45):
Like?
Speaker 3 (01:07:45):
Are they taking breaks?
Speaker 1 (01:07:46):
You know what I'm saying? Six waves of shaking out? Yes?
Speaker 16 (01:07:49):
You know?
Speaker 1 (01:07:49):
Yeah like NHL Like do we see them you know.
Speaker 12 (01:07:51):
Switching or do you go like three like a wave
of three, then a wave of six, then a wave
of nine, you know, like, yeah, we got to the
final boss, overwhelmed them?
Speaker 1 (01:08:02):
Yes, right, yeah, to the final boss, the final brokick.
Speaker 13 (01:08:05):
I got.
Speaker 1 (01:08:06):
I got one though, quick if you had if only
one stephen A Smith can fight in a ring, but
it's constant. Once Lebron beats one, it's the next one.
How many steven A Smith's? Oh, that number is exponential.
Do you think there's no chance a one on one
with steven A Smith will win? Like you don't even
think there's one injury? And they're saying he would.
Speaker 3 (01:08:25):
Have to go through how many stephen As?
Speaker 1 (01:08:27):
Exactly?
Speaker 13 (01:08:28):
How many rounds of stephen A could.
Speaker 5 (01:08:33):
The we'reund seven right now, right rounds is it right now?
Speaker 12 (01:08:37):
It's got the numbers got to be upwards to three
hundred and.
Speaker 1 (01:08:43):
Right, because every round it's a new Stephen with the first.
Speaker 12 (01:08:45):
Hundred is just going to be like like snapping a
match right, so like you snapping a match to right.
Speaker 1 (01:08:50):
So like so eventually lough Lebron is forty, he might
get tired.
Speaker 12 (01:08:55):
So like around three hundred ish maybe is when he's like, man,
I I want a gatorade.
Speaker 1 (01:08:59):
Right, Hey, that's pretty good.
Speaker 5 (01:09:01):
And he can't get any no reprieve, no.
Speaker 1 (01:09:03):
Yeah, no, he has to just suck it up. Yeah,
that's what people are tuned in for.
Speaker 16 (01:09:10):
People.
Speaker 2 (01:09:10):
Yeah.
Speaker 12 (01:09:11):
Fifty to thirty eight the score between Auburn and Michigan State,
the one seed in the South Reagion against the two
seat in the South. Reason just under twelve minutes left
in the second half. Auburn has had it like a
double lead for pretty much all of this game. It
was the same story in the first college basketball game
we saw today. On the men's side of things, Houston
with a sixty nine to fifty win over Tennessee, they'll.
Speaker 13 (01:09:32):
Go to the Final Four. They are joined with.
Speaker 12 (01:09:34):
Duke and Florida obviously winner at Auburn and Michigan State
looking to punch their ticket to San Antonio, South Carolina.
On the women's side of things, survived against Duke fifty
four to fifty. They're headed to their fifth straight Final four.
The game Cocks are and UCLA beat LSU seventy two
to sixty five, first Final four in Bruins program history.
The Yankees crushed the Brewers twelve to three. Aaron Judge
(01:09:56):
two run home run in the first inning. That's just
fourth home running as many in two days. He's all
tracked at three hundred and eight home runs and a
very small sample size, but it still sounds pretty cool.
Jass shows them homer twice. He has five RBIs. Yankees
over the Brewers twelve to three. NAT's over the Phillies
five to one, Blue Jays top two Orioles three to one.
Max Schurzer on the fifteen diil with right thumb inflammation
(01:10:17):
for Toronto Raise bleat the Raise beat the Rockies six
to four. Brandi loa to two run homer, his first
of the year. Marlins had a wild pitch walk off
to defeat the Pirates three to two.
Speaker 13 (01:10:28):
Reds double up the I'm sorry.
Speaker 12 (01:10:29):
Giants double up the Reds six to three, Guardians over
the Royal sixty two, and the Rangers edge the White
Sox three to two. Games in progress. Right now, on
the top of the eighth inning, Chicago Cubs have a
six to two lead over the Arizona Diamondbacks. In the
bottom of the seventh inning, the Angels and the White
Sox are in a rain delay. The end of the
first quarter, the Knicks have a twenty seven to twenty
(01:10:51):
five lead over the Trailblazers, and again one more time,
fifty to thirty eight to score here with one seed
Auburn and the lead eleven minutes left in the game.
Speaker 13 (01:11:01):
Back to you, guys.
Speaker 2 (01:11:02):
Thanks Martin, you are listening to Fox Sports Sunday. I
was gonna say Football Sunday.
Speaker 1 (01:11:05):
Who is Monsi and Carrie hanging out with you?
Speaker 2 (01:11:08):
And now it's time for a little easy as one, two, three, four,
So Martin, don't go anywhere, because you're a life lion.
So is Shay our producer, and Mary, she's a life line.
She's on the ones in twos and we'll start it easy, guys.
Let's I don't know how hard this is gonna be.
So I think you got this, but we'll make the
over under let's say seven and a half.
Speaker 5 (01:11:29):
Oh, that made it hard.
Speaker 1 (01:11:30):
I don't think that.
Speaker 3 (01:11:31):
Maybe we'll see I don't know.
Speaker 2 (01:11:32):
All right, give me one of two of the oldest
managers to win a World Series, like when they won
their first World Series, they were the oldest.
Speaker 3 (01:11:45):
Give me one of two.
Speaker 5 (01:11:46):
I got one. I just I'll just go Dusty Baker,
all right, so.
Speaker 3 (01:11:50):
You finding final Yes, all right, show me Dusty Baker.
Speaker 2 (01:11:54):
That is right, Dusty Baker, seventy three.
Speaker 13 (01:11:58):
That's one of those the culture notes.
Speaker 1 (01:12:00):
Yeah, yeah, the.
Speaker 2 (01:12:02):
Culture He did have a World Series as a player,
but as a manager, his first one in seventy three.
Speaker 1 (01:12:08):
Jack McKeon was seventy two in.
Speaker 2 (01:12:11):
Two thousand and three when he led the Marlins to
the World Series. Literally pulled out of retirement to do that.
So those are the two oldest. We'll do one more here.
Give me out of the Elite eight teams. Okay, I
know we're headed to the final four, but out of
the Elite eight teams, give me two of the three
teams that have never made it to a title game.
(01:12:32):
They've never even reached the title game. Two out of
three Tennessee and Houston Tennessee.
Speaker 3 (01:12:39):
Are we're you gonna walk in with those?
Speaker 6 (01:12:40):
I'm gonna go Tennessee for sure. Okay, let me let
me think about Houston for one second. I know they've
made the Final four. Wait, no, the clients, right, I
mean the came olds one Houston.
Speaker 5 (01:12:53):
Team they made it. That's right, Tennessee for sure.
Speaker 1 (01:12:56):
Where you've seen lifelines just subtly. Oh yeah, I saw that.
Want to turn your mic on, Marian No.
Speaker 6 (01:13:02):
No, but when I said it, I was like, yes, Tennessee.
Speaker 1 (01:13:08):
Oh oh.
Speaker 5 (01:13:13):
Alabama, but they lost, you said the leader.
Speaker 2 (01:13:15):
They just never reached the title game in their history.
Alabama and Tennessee locking in. Okay, show me Tennessee.
Speaker 1 (01:13:22):
That's right.
Speaker 2 (01:13:22):
They were looking to make their first Final four. They
were looking to do that. And then Alabama show me Alabama.
Speaker 5 (01:13:32):
There you go.
Speaker 2 (01:13:33):
Yes, no, Alabama has reached the Final four, but they've
never made the title game. They've never gotten to the
title game. They've gotten to the final.
Speaker 1 (01:13:41):
Before qualifies as well.
Speaker 2 (01:13:44):
And those are the three Alabama, Auburn, and Tennessee.
Speaker 3 (01:13:47):
They have never reached the actual game.
Speaker 13 (01:13:51):
Yes, Alabama basket Yeah, we played football.
Speaker 2 (01:13:53):
We played football, and we'll finish this on the other side,
took anywhere.
Speaker 3 (01:13:58):
This is Fox Sports Sunday.
Speaker 2 (01:14:00):
Okay, very mad, oh, okay, Fox Sports Sunday. I'm Monte
Malayas alongside former All bro Safety carry Roads.
Speaker 1 (01:14:13):
Hanging out with you right now.
Speaker 2 (01:14:14):
We do have an elite A game going on, one
seed Auburn on top of two seed Michigan.
Speaker 1 (01:14:19):
State fifty two to forty two, eight.
Speaker 3 (01:14:21):
Minutes to go.
Speaker 2 (01:14:22):
Jani Broom for Auburn did go to the locker room
with an apparent elbow injury. If we hear anything more,
we will let you guys know. It didn't look pretty.
Speaker 1 (01:14:31):
It did not, but hopefully it's more.
Speaker 2 (01:14:34):
Just a tweak in the moment, right and that's it
and we'll see him again. But yeah, Jane I Broom
headed to the locker room with an elbow injury. All right,
let's wrap up easy as one, two, three, four, All right, I.
Speaker 1 (01:14:46):
Mean, Cary, you're pretty good. You got it you.
Speaker 2 (01:14:48):
Guys you know talking to now you have your lifelines,
even though it was a little cheating with a lifeline.
Speaker 1 (01:14:52):
Oh my goodness, I saw it.
Speaker 2 (01:14:54):
I saw it, all right, all right, all good though, nope, nope, nope,
all right, you still have your lifelines of l Well,
don't worry, all right, little NFL.
Speaker 1 (01:15:03):
Why not.
Speaker 2 (01:15:03):
I know we're in the off season. But let's see
what you guys remember. Let's see what you remember. Give
me three of the top four tight ends that had
the most receiving yards. Three of the four tight ends
that had the most receiving yards this past year.
Speaker 5 (01:15:23):
Well, I mean number one is Bowers.
Speaker 6 (01:15:24):
Okay, I mean, I just got to think of the
tight ends.
Speaker 1 (01:15:31):
I know that's half the battle.
Speaker 3 (01:15:32):
I know, but you do have lifelines. You can talk
it out.
Speaker 1 (01:15:36):
I'm gonna I'm gonna go with.
Speaker 5 (01:15:41):
Martin.
Speaker 19 (01:15:45):
That's a tough one. Ship that's a tough one. Hopefully
get this wrong. I don't know, don't do No. Three
of the four we have the four top one for sure.
Travis Kelsey not about to be like no, but I
will go with the other.
Speaker 12 (01:16:03):
Like prior to this last season, Browers was the best
tight end and it was a conversation I think.
Speaker 1 (01:16:07):
With George Kittle, who should be on this list?
Speaker 3 (01:16:11):
Would you like to take Martin's advice and go with
George Kittle?
Speaker 1 (01:16:16):
Probably?
Speaker 5 (01:16:18):
I mean, I mean, I know, I mean it's Kittle,
I understand, right, No.
Speaker 3 (01:16:21):
No, no, and it's top again. Three in the top four.
Speaker 5 (01:16:24):
Is real tough. Okay, we'll go kittles for one.
Speaker 1 (01:16:27):
Okay, the.
Speaker 5 (01:16:31):
Now the other title, why can't I shall?
Speaker 13 (01:16:33):
I think I have the other one.
Speaker 1 (01:16:35):
I think I got another one. Guess I'm gonna go
to Joku.
Speaker 12 (01:16:39):
No, I don't think that he got hurt midway through
the year. I believe, and plus too, he was playing
for Cleveland. They didn't have anybody. Anybody know when Jamis
came in. He did get a lot.
Speaker 1 (01:16:49):
Of Yacht's what I'm saying. He had a long that one,
because you're thinking that four spot is going to be
like no, but close to any nothing, you know what
I mean.
Speaker 12 (01:16:57):
I'm ninety eight percent sure that it was between like
like Bowers and Trey McBride were close and receiving yards.
Speaker 1 (01:17:05):
But it was a fantasy football thing because.
Speaker 12 (01:17:07):
McBride had like two touchdowns on the year, three touchdowns
on the year.
Speaker 1 (01:17:10):
So she just said yards receiving yards.
Speaker 13 (01:17:13):
But that's why I know that he had so many,
because he didn't score any touchdowns.
Speaker 12 (01:17:16):
Everybody was like, trade McBride in the end zone.
Speaker 1 (01:17:20):
I'll go at McBride.
Speaker 2 (01:17:22):
Okay, so we got Bowers, McBride and what's your final third?
Speaker 5 (01:17:26):
And said the joker.
Speaker 1 (01:17:28):
Now now I'm not yeah, I don't think so.
Speaker 13 (01:17:32):
Yeah, you did have from you played for Cleveland. No
one is leading and passing on.
Speaker 5 (01:17:40):
I hear you.
Speaker 1 (01:17:41):
It's just that four spot is tough because it's there.
I think it's really close.
Speaker 5 (01:17:45):
I know the name, I just cannot think of.
Speaker 1 (01:17:49):
Who does he play for?
Speaker 3 (01:17:49):
Who does he play for?
Speaker 5 (01:17:51):
Give me once.
Speaker 3 (01:17:55):
Not to put pressure on you.
Speaker 5 (01:17:57):
I know, I know what's the what's the bike inside end?
Speaker 1 (01:18:01):
No it's not. He got injured t J.
Speaker 13 (01:18:03):
Hockinson And the line was, what's the Sam Laporta.
Speaker 5 (01:18:06):
I will go Laporta at one of those right, like
three four he played.
Speaker 1 (01:18:10):
I think he played almost every.
Speaker 12 (01:18:11):
Game to get it down year this year, the last
to his rookie year.
Speaker 13 (01:18:15):
He didn't have the numbers.
Speaker 6 (01:18:16):
All right, let's run, we gotta we gotta, we gotta move,
so we go Bowers, Yes, Kittles McBride, but we need No.
Speaker 1 (01:18:22):
That's it.
Speaker 12 (01:18:22):
That's it.
Speaker 1 (01:18:23):
You want those three?
Speaker 2 (01:18:23):
Okay, show me brock Bowers that's right, top one thousand
and ninety four yards. Show me Trey McBride, NOOMT DAWs
one thousand, one hundred and forty six yards and show
me George Kittle number three one yards coming in at four,
John Smith, yes, coming in at four, receiving yards eight
(01:18:45):
hundred and eighty four. Then Travis kelce in at five.
Then Sam Laporta. I was like, yes, yes, how much
time do we got to marry?
Speaker 1 (01:18:55):
We don't even gotta We still got more than a minna.
We perfect. Let's go a.
Speaker 2 (01:18:59):
Minute, all right, let's go all right, give me four
of the five assists leaders in the NBA this season,
four of the five assist leaders.
Speaker 5 (01:19:06):
I'll go shoo.
Speaker 6 (01:19:09):
If Luca doesn't count because he hasn't played enough games,
so h Chris.
Speaker 12 (01:19:13):
Paul, Chris Paul, come on, carry no, no, no, s g a, yo,
kids gotta be.
Speaker 1 (01:19:18):
Ony, I gotta be there. We got four, you got
four of the five, one more left? Come me cool?
Speaker 5 (01:19:25):
All right, I promise you, Chris Paul, at least fourth
on that lot.
Speaker 1 (01:19:28):
Okay, Chris Paul, do we have do you want to say?
Trey Young?
Speaker 5 (01:19:33):
Yeah?
Speaker 13 (01:19:33):
Okay, Yah Young is a good guess.
Speaker 2 (01:19:35):
Yeah, yo, kic c B three one more?
Speaker 5 (01:19:39):
He said, shy, all.
Speaker 2 (01:19:42):
Right, show me Trey Young. That's right, he's leading with
eleven point four. Show me, Nicole Yogic coming in with
ten point two? Is it s g A No, not
even in my listen, I wrote six is it Chris
Paul Who?
Speaker 1 (01:19:59):
But he isn't an number six? Yeah? Seven point six,
so not too bad? Carry, not too bad? That's right.
Speaker 2 (01:20:07):
You just heard Martin Why say that jan I Broom
is back in the game for Auburn. So take a
sigh of relief if you are a Tigers fan, because
that fall that he took bracing himself hyper extending his
elbow did not look pretty. If you haven't seen it,
don't look it up if you don't like to see
kind of a gross moments like that, because it was
a scary moment, right.
Speaker 1 (01:20:28):
Carry Yes, had me running around the studio a little bit.
Speaker 8 (01:20:31):
Yeah, his reaction when I showed it to him was great.
Speaker 3 (01:20:34):
On MATSI belayo.
Speaker 2 (01:20:35):
As long as I have former all Bro safety carry
roads with you on this Fox Sports Sunday, and we
are broadcasting live from a tyreck dot Com studios. Tyrec
dot com will help you get there an unmatched selection,
fast free shipping, free road hazard protection and over ten
thousand recommended installers. Tyrec dot com The Way Tire buine
should be waiting to see who makes it to the
final four. We do know that Houston and Duk are
(01:20:57):
headed to the final four, and we'll get into that.
We do know that Hooper Flag is probably going to
be the number one overall pick in the NBA draft,
And I think when you are the number one overall
pick in any draft, I think that there are high expectations,
which you know they're sometimes difficult to live up to.
But what I specifically want to get into when it
(01:21:19):
comes to a former number one of our overall pick
is in the NBA. The odds for the most improved
player this year, Carrie are very high that it's gonna.
Speaker 3 (01:21:30):
Be Kate Cunningham.
Speaker 2 (01:21:32):
Kate Cunningham is killing it for the Pistons. Pistons are
all They just beat the Calves a couple of days ago.
We talked about it last week with aut Caid. Yet
we just talked about it last week. What is a
team you don't want to see? You don't want to
see the Pistons in the playoffs, a team that has
really nothing to prove, nothing to show. They're just out
(01:21:53):
there hooping and they are a good team, and you
do not want to face them in the playoffs, trust me,
But Kate Cunningham, in my I just don't get how
Kate Cunningham can be the running away with this most
improved award when you were the number one overall pick
in twenty twenty one, not that long ago. This seems
(01:22:14):
like the natural trajectory for a player like him.
Speaker 6 (01:22:17):
Yeah, no, there's no way he's the most improved player.
It's that's all of.
Speaker 1 (01:22:22):
Wash, you know what I'm saying.
Speaker 6 (01:22:24):
Yeah, this dude's been balling for years. Even last year
the team sucked, but he played. He played just like
he's playing now. He's obviously taking a step forward with
the team success, but he's not the most improved player
now if we're talking about the most improved team, obviously.
Speaker 3 (01:22:42):
Obviously nobody would deny that.
Speaker 1 (01:22:43):
I agree with you.
Speaker 2 (01:22:44):
His first year seventeen point four points, second year nineteen
point nine, third year twenty two point seven, this year
twenty five point seven. So yes, there is an increase
in his performance, including with his assists. But again, isn't
this not what you were expected to do? And in
a short period of time in four years, that's not
too bad. Another player that has second best odds is
(01:23:06):
Dyson Daniels eighth overall pick in twenty twenty two overall.
So again, yes, isn't this what you're expected to do
if you were the first pick in the first round.
I again, last year he had thirteen point nine points,
or last year five point eight points, this year averaging
thirteen point nine. I'm not trying to take away from
(01:23:26):
any of these players. Tyler Hero is also in the list.
He was the thirteenth overall pick in twenty nineteen. Also, yeah,
he's shooting better, but like he's been shooting well, Like I.
Speaker 6 (01:23:38):
Most improved has to be somebody that came like defied odds,
Like was a guy that was an afterthought and then
all of a sudden he came out of nowhere like
a like a Draymond Green.
Speaker 2 (01:23:50):
Raymond Green is a great second round pick. No one
expected him to do this. I mean, we could say
Nicola Yoga. It's just one to give him the MVP.
In staid absolutely. I again, I know I'm a Clippers fan.
Norman Powell. Norman Powell second round in twenty fifteen, forty
sixth overall. So you've been in the league ten years.
(01:24:11):
You have never played the way that you have been
playing now and the Clippers would not be where.
Speaker 1 (01:24:16):
They are without you.
Speaker 2 (01:24:17):
How he's not even like on the list of people
Carrie of most improved. I just don't know where we're
What does most improved mean? And shit, you can jump
in on this because you kind of disagreed with me
and when I first brought this topic up to you
that I don't see how we give Kate Cunningham the
number one overall pick just a few years ago the
most Improved Player award.
Speaker 1 (01:24:39):
Okay, so I was I'm more thinking in the terms
of what they've done because the Pistons, well they just
won without kid Cunningham this week, but I don't think
they would be where they are without him. And over
the three year span, I think this is something that's
kind of been building for so long and is three years, yeah,
(01:25:01):
I mean three years and NBA terms is a long time,
you know what I mean. So, and it's that fact
where I go he does deserve it, just because again
we were talking about this during the segment too, going
into it, I think it kind of goes hand in
hand with the Coach of the Year thing where they
might not be the best team, but he's still probably
(01:25:22):
gonna win Coach of the Year because of what he's done.
And obviously he has Kate Cunningham on his team who's
doing such a good job. And maybe it's not the
coach that's really deserving of it, but he's still gonna
win it, I think over the cast coach. So I
think it's more something that has to do with Again,
Jokic doesn't win MVP all the time like Kate Cunningham.
It's you got to think more almost politically, you know,
(01:25:45):
when you're thinking about these which is it's a frustrating thing.
But it can't just be he's the best or he
is the most improved, because I get what you're saying.
Norman Powell, one hundred percent, no one would have expected
this from him. No one should have expected this from him.
People should have expected this from Kate Cunningham, right, But
now that it's finally happening, it's almost like he deserves it.
Speaker 2 (01:26:09):
So I, okay, are you are you guys thinking that
if the Pistons were not in the position that they
are right now, that maybe he wouldn't.
Speaker 1 (01:26:16):
He wouldn't you think I think that one percent?
Speaker 3 (01:26:18):
Okay, So you think it goes hand in hand.
Speaker 1 (01:26:19):
All right, I think he could have had the same
exact stats, and if they lost twenty games like Moore,
it would be completely a different story.
Speaker 2 (01:26:30):
We know that the MVP tends to be nowadays of
like popularity contest, right, And you could say that where
whether it's the NFL or whether it's basketball, it's like
it's a little bit of a popularity contest.
Speaker 3 (01:26:42):
And I feel like that's kind of what this is
as well.
Speaker 2 (01:26:45):
Like Kate Cunningham, he's not the face of the NBA,
but he is one of the faces.
Speaker 1 (01:26:50):
Tyler Hero now that Miami he.
Speaker 3 (01:26:52):
Don't have Jimmy Butler.
Speaker 2 (01:26:54):
It's bam Adebiyo and who Tyler Hero? Tyler Heros has
a face now. And I feel like we're not looking
at the right players.
Speaker 1 (01:27:01):
Because of that.
Speaker 6 (01:27:02):
Yeah, I mean these we're talking about two All stars here.
How much improved are are they gonna be? I mean
like it's it's what's expected from them.
Speaker 1 (01:27:12):
Let me back back off of that. So Austin Reeves
averaging twenty points a game right.
Speaker 5 (01:27:16):
Now, that he could be most improved for sure.
Speaker 1 (01:27:18):
So you think it's more of like I because I
think that the way they look at most improved isn't
necessarily just compared to last year. They're comparing it, I
think throughout their whole season. How because I don't think
a third, like a two year player would win a
most Improved Player ever, you know what I mean, Like
they're just disent dice.
Speaker 2 (01:27:35):
I'm telling you, Dyson Daniels was an eighth overall pick
in twenty twenty two and he's runner up right now
to Kate Cunningham. Like it's such a small sample size,
That's what That's part of my argum.
Speaker 1 (01:27:47):
Yeah, I try. I agree with you there, Yeah, I
agree with you there. It's just like because we don't
even know what type of player he is no after
one year.
Speaker 5 (01:27:55):
I mean, all we know is he's a good defensive
player exactly, that's for sure.
Speaker 1 (01:27:58):
So how do you know he's the most improved?
Speaker 5 (01:28:00):
Yeah?
Speaker 6 (01:28:00):
That that was kind of weird, And that's what I
was going to bring it out about Austin Reeves because
he has such a small.
Speaker 1 (01:28:06):
What's the word, just like two years, three years, Like
there isn't a lot of time where we sample size
exactly sample size. It was a very small sample size.
So it's like that's why I wouldn't put Austin reeves
in that running because it's like he might have always
been that player again, and that's what you're kind of
saying about Kate Cunningham. But we're finally at the point
where we could say three years, four years in he
(01:28:28):
is the most improved player.
Speaker 2 (01:28:30):
It's almost like that he's sorry, sorry, I don't want
to lose. It's almost like I want that to be
a criteria. You have to be in the league five
years in order to be a most improved player.
Speaker 6 (01:28:40):
I'll tell you this, Kay Coneham is not worried about
winning most improved Player. I don't even think you put
that on his mantle. No, like, give it to somebody
that had to scratch and call their way in the NBA.
Norman Powell will be a perfect example of that. Like
he's been a player that we've seen flashes from. We
know that he can, we know we've seen that. But
(01:29:02):
the consistency that he's played with this year and the
lower the last year. Yeah, and the low that he's
carried this year though absolutely absolutely, if he.
Speaker 1 (01:29:11):
Didn't play the way he played, the Clippers wouldn't be
in this position.
Speaker 2 (01:29:14):
We may be fighting for the eighth seed in the
Western Conference if we did not have him, especially because
Kawhi did not start, you were You're right on it,
Austin Reeves. I know we just said short sample size,
but the fact that he went undrafted that adds. I
feel like, yes, Austin Reeves, small sample size, but I
prefer him over a number one overall pick. And again,
(01:29:36):
it's like, it seems like I don't like Kate Cunningham
because of the the take I'm here.
Speaker 1 (01:29:41):
It's not about that.
Speaker 2 (01:29:42):
I'm just like, what is the definition of most Improved?
And I almost feel like there needs to be a
little bit of criteria. Tyrese Maxey won Most Improved right
for the seventy six ers, yep. And I feel like
when he won it, I didn't. I was like, yeah,
he I felt like he had a big jump, like
from what I remember for the seventy six ers. I
don't know if they were expecting him to do that.
He was a first round pick, but not a top
(01:30:04):
ten or anything like that. And so I Kate Cunningham,
I'm telling you, I think he's gonna win it. And
it's like, congratulations to you and the Pistons and your
coach because you as a team.
Speaker 1 (01:30:15):
Are the most improved.
Speaker 3 (01:30:16):
Yes, but you this is what was expected.
Speaker 2 (01:30:21):
And I know that there have been busts with number
one overall picks in the paths that have not done
at all of what their expectation was, and here you
are delivering. But I just yeah, you're you're not this
this is you, this is your your talent.
Speaker 6 (01:30:34):
Naturally, there's nothing underrated about Katen Cunningham and his story, right,
and this is what he's supposed to be doing.
Speaker 2 (01:30:41):
Yes, that's exactly, this is what you're supposed to be doing.
A Norman pala is just like a perfect example because
you've been in the league ten years, ten years, ten
and here you are being a big part.
Speaker 3 (01:30:56):
Of the reason.
Speaker 5 (01:30:56):
And he would cherish this.
Speaker 3 (01:30:58):
He would cherish it.
Speaker 2 (01:31:00):
It's like you didn't let him in the All Star Game,
Lebron but carry he's not even on the list of
possible players. Yeah, he's not even on the list. Tyler
Hero is on the list, which like I again it's
like I'm not against Tyler Hero, but I feel like
we know he's a shooter, and like if you saw
his numbers, they've increased a little bit, but you've been
(01:31:21):
a shooter the whole time, the whole time, and if
you maybe increased in like your assists and your rebounds
and everything, but no, it's like you're still just a
shooter and you're shooting the ball better, yeah, scoring more,
but you've been a shooter the whole time. You've been
a shooter the whole time. Carrie's very into the seat
right now. He's listening, but not listening, and I understand.
Speaker 1 (01:31:41):
No, I'm not mad at you. I'm mad at you.
Speaker 2 (01:31:43):
There's ninety seconds to go between one seed Auburn and
two seed Michigan State.
Speaker 1 (01:31:47):
Tigers are up sixty.
Speaker 2 (01:31:50):
Seven to fifty eight, and yes, coming down to like
the final ninety seconds.
Speaker 3 (01:31:55):
But Michigan State's not going anywhere. They're not they're fighting.
Speaker 5 (01:31:57):
They're fighting. It's they're scratching, Clawn.
Speaker 1 (01:32:00):
It's crazy, yeah. Crazy.
Speaker 2 (01:32:02):
Tractor Supply, though, knows that a winning season takes practice, teamwork,
and I can do attitude.
Speaker 1 (01:32:07):

Speaker 6 (01:32:49):
Well, if Auburn wins my final fours in tax like
I said, all that, oh you put all the number
one season.
Speaker 1 (01:32:55):
See see we yeah, we yeah.
Speaker 2 (01:32:58):
Try sometimes this year with this year was a year
to do that, honestly, honestly, Well, let's take a break
here because this game is about to end.
Speaker 1 (01:33:07):
Carrie really wants to watch it.
Speaker 2 (01:33:09):
And then we can do a little preview of the
Final four because I assume it will be over by
the time we get to the other side, So don't
go anywhere.

with us this whole time, we appreciate it. We hope
you've enjoyed the show. We are broadcasting live from the
tarrek dot com studios and we are waiting for this
Auburn game to actually end against Michigan State. It's coming
(01:33:49):
down to the end, but we'll get to them in
a second. We do know that Duke is gonna be
facing Houston in the Final Four, which is starting next Saturday.
Speaker 3 (01:34:02):
I believe how do you see.
Speaker 1 (01:34:04):
This matchup, Carrie?
Speaker 2 (01:34:06):
I know you're a Duke fan, and I know you're
a big college basketball fan, so you watch them closely. Obviously,
Like Houston's big selling point would be their defense, right,
and they tend to move and switch quickly.
Speaker 1 (01:34:21):
They're athletic.
Speaker 2 (01:34:23):
Stopping Cooper flag would would probably be one thing. Stop him,
but they play defense. They're they're tough, they're physical. They
don't shoot a lot of threes, but if they do
shoot the three, they shoot it pretty well.
Speaker 1 (01:34:35):
But then you have Duke, who does have a nice high.
Speaker 2 (01:34:41):
Offense that scores well with or without Cooper Flag as
we have seen in the tournament, starting the tournament, ending,
ending the regular season. Remember with Cooper Flag injured, still
Duke is still alive. And even with Cooper Flag maybe
not shooting well, they still find a way to win.
How do you see this match up going? And try
to not let your shandom of Duke come into this answer.
(01:35:05):
Try to be as impartial as I ask you. How
do you see Houston and Duke battling.
Speaker 5 (01:35:11):
It out always?
Speaker 6 (01:35:11):
I mean, this is this is the four that throughout
the year were the best, the four best teams Auburn, Florida, Duke, Houston.
You know that when I was watching the Houston Tennessee game,
just from and nexason old standpoint, like Houston would be
the tougher challenge for Duke out of those two Tennessee
(01:35:34):
just their offensive and their offensive inconsistency was always a
problem for them all year. They played defense, but they
don't play defense like Houston. Houston has bigs that aren't
as tall as Duke, So Duke's still going to be
the tallest team always. They are the tallest team in
collegiate basketball by average, and so when Houston comes in,
they're going to be They're going to be the shorter team.
Speaker 3 (01:35:55):
They're going to feel it.
Speaker 6 (01:35:56):
But the wingspan of Houston's bigs could cause problems and
their athleticism being able to switch the way that they
can one through five, Duke does it as well.
Speaker 5 (01:36:06):
One through five.
Speaker 6 (01:36:07):
It's gonna be it's gonna be a stat like a
contrast of styles there and how they look, but not
how they play. Both teams have great defenses. I just
think that in this matchup, Duke has too many pros, right,
I mean one through five, their whole starting five will
probably be on an NBA roster next year. And positional size.
(01:36:28):
I mean Duke's point guard is sixty five sixty six
and that's their shortest that's their shortest person in their
starting lineup. So when you talk about the versatility that
Duke has been able to attack the switches, being able
with their guards to put Houston's shorter guards in the post,
it's gonna be a problem for Houston. And I see
like it's gonna be a great game. Duke just has
(01:36:50):
more firepower, so I think they will win that game.
Speaker 2 (01:36:52):
I mean more firepower in any situation is obviously the
way to go because even though defense wins game, yes
it's true, defense is going to help you, but you
definitely need to score to score points, You've got to
score points. And even like you just said, let's say
the game plan is to stop Cooper Flag, sure and
you succeed, Duke is like, all right, then we're gonna go.
Speaker 5 (01:37:16):
To Tyreech Procter. Mala watch.
Speaker 2 (01:37:21):
We had so many options, Evans the pro off the bench,
like they're deep, they're deep.
Speaker 6 (01:37:26):
And the thing about the Duke team this year, as
much props and very much deservingt that Cooper Flag gets,
he's going to be National Player of the Year, that
it's anybody's night with Duke. Kanka Nipple was the leading
scorer last night and looked like the best player on
the floor, even over Cooper Flag. Yeah, and right now
(01:37:48):
a lottery they have him as a seven pick in
the draft, you know, I mean, like that's how that's
how deep they can be. Tyreee Procter the first two games,
right it was him had thirteen threes. He was thirteen
team from three point land in two games. So it
just depends on what you want to.
Speaker 2 (01:38:03):
Say So are you saying that Houston wins if, for
whatever reason, Duke is not shooting the ball?
Speaker 5 (01:38:11):
Well, no, I don't even think that.
Speaker 6 (01:38:13):
I think Houston wins if they're able to turn Duke over. Okay,
and they do that, Like that's what Houston. Houston can do,
that they can get up onder you and make it uncomfortable.
We just saw that with Tennessee. That's fifteen points.
Speaker 5 (01:38:25):
At the half.
Speaker 2 (01:38:26):
But you you think Duke win's it, Duke wins it easily,
double digit You think it'll be a close one.
Speaker 5 (01:38:32):
I mean, Duke hasn't had it.
Speaker 2 (01:38:33):
What was it the other one Alabama against that you
called it, Alabama's gonna win double digits against like in
the sweet sixteen?
Speaker 1 (01:38:40):
Who do they? I told you.
Speaker 3 (01:38:41):
I was like, I don't know if Alabama's going to
do well against them?
Speaker 1 (01:38:43):
Oh yeah, that was who was it? You're like, what
are you talking about?
Speaker 3 (01:38:47):
Saint Mary's Yes, No, I think you're right man, good job.
Speaker 1 (01:38:50):
Yeah, and you're like by double digits and they won
by double digits. You called it. You called it. So
this one, this one, I mean, maybe late, but it's
going to be.
Speaker 2 (01:39:00):
You think it's gonna be a close, Okay, Tyler Cones.
Maybe at the end it ends in double digit, but
you don't think that's how the game actually is gonna go.
I love that. All right, it's officially over. Auburn Tigers
are moving on. We're excited over there. Martin Weiss clapping. Okay,
I didn't know he was.
Speaker 3 (01:39:17):
A Are you not?
Speaker 7 (01:39:18):
No?
Speaker 11 (01:39:18):
No, he's just ast anything against Michigan.
Speaker 1 (01:39:22):
That's what it is. Hey, hey, listen, hater. Everybody needs
a hater or two.
Speaker 2 (01:39:27):
Okay, it's okay, but jan I broom, I think I
did with a double double after that kind of scaring
moment where it looked like he hyper extended his elbow.
So Auburn takes on another big defensive team, one seed Florida.
Speaker 1 (01:39:41):
Who you like, who you.
Speaker 2 (01:39:43):
Think is going to win this thing if you had to,
you know, put your money on it and putting your
fandom aside, which is impressive.
Speaker 11 (01:39:50):
Uh.
Speaker 3 (01:39:51):
And so how how do you see this one?
Speaker 13 (01:39:54):
Man?
Speaker 4 (01:39:54):
Uh?
Speaker 6 (01:39:55):
It's a it's a it's a class of titans, both
of them. I mean, Auburn is the umber one overall seed.
I think people tend to forget that.
Speaker 2 (01:40:02):
Yes, no, I ad forgot that they are the number
one over overall the reason.
Speaker 6 (01:40:09):
They won the regular season in SEC, which obviously was
the best conference. We know that Auburn Florida is so
interesting because Jenny Broom is, you know, in the running
for player of the Year as well. He had an
excellent season. Now he just hurt his arm a little bit,
his elbow, so called for concern.
Speaker 1 (01:40:28):
There, we'll see.
Speaker 3 (01:40:31):
Hopefully it's nothing.
Speaker 6 (01:40:32):
Yes, hopefully. I want everybody to be full strength. Absolutely
the X factor in this game for me, though, it's
to hot Pettiford for Auburn. He's there, six man, he
comes off the bench. He could start on any team,
even this Auburn team, if that's what they wanted. But
he's instant offense. Florida comes off their bench with so
(01:40:56):
much talent and so much depth and so much height.
It's gonna be hard for Auburn to, I think, put
up with that because they can throw so many bodies
at Jenni Broom, they can wear him down as the
game goes on. And they got the best player in
the tournament, Walter Clayton junior. It's the best player in
this tournament. Yeah, we can talk about Cooper Flagg, we
(01:41:16):
can talk about all the other guys.
Speaker 2 (01:41:17):
We want he had in this tournament. It has been him.
He's been the most consistent.
Speaker 3 (01:41:23):
All every game, a games, all game.
Speaker 2 (01:41:25):
Every time it's I'm always reading his name, seeing his
name pop up, it's always him.
Speaker 6 (01:41:29):
If it comes down to a clutch game and a
clutch possession or two here and there, Florida Winsorida, and
I'm taking Walter Clayton.
Speaker 5 (01:41:36):
But this is gonna be a great game. They know
each other. They played each.
Speaker 2 (01:41:39):
Other twice this past season.
Speaker 6 (01:41:43):
Oh yeah, then the sec together, so I'm sure they
had to play a home and home, right, so I
would say twice in theory.
Speaker 1 (01:41:49):
In theory out.
Speaker 6 (01:41:51):
But yeah, this, this is gonna be. This is gonna
be a class of the Titans. And I'm gonna take
Florida just because of Walter Clayton. And I also love
of just their their height and their depth. So I'll
take Florida and that mats up as well.
Speaker 1 (01:42:05):
Wow, Florida, Duke, you said that weeks ago.
Speaker 3 (01:42:09):
You did say that weeks ago.
Speaker 1 (01:42:10):
I don't know.
Speaker 2 (01:42:10):
I think Auburn might surprise us because they're in a groove.
Speaker 3 (01:42:16):
They seemed to be in a groove.
Speaker 2 (01:42:17):
But my bracket, it doesn't matter, it's already trash. I
should just rip it up. I did have Florida winning
the whole thing. I just I feel I'm big on vibes,
big on momentum, and Auburn is in a groove right now,
right feel, I think they're feeling it.
Speaker 3 (01:42:31):
And so we'll see.
Speaker 1 (01:42:32):
Uh, let's chick in with Martin.
Speaker 2 (01:42:34):
Maybe he has a thought or two on this Final
Four that we're gonna have going on next Saturday.
Speaker 1 (01:42:40):
Well, we're hosting together, Martin.
Speaker 12 (01:42:42):
I have several thoughts, a ton of them. What won't
be happening while we're hosting together next week, Monci. What
we won't be watching tom when the Michigan State.
Speaker 2 (01:42:50):
Party will Well, that's not that he'll be watching the
games we'll be watching.
Speaker 12 (01:42:55):
And just to you know, just for those who keep
excoring at home, since I graduated from high school, this
makes the same amount of Final Four appearances except for
Michigan and Michigan States. That Michigan actually won in those
Final four matchups in advanced in the National Championship game.
Speaker 13 (01:43:08):
Oh wing to there.
Speaker 12 (01:43:09):
But if we're talking to college basketball, where you hand
out banners for finishing fourth in Final four, you know
what I'm saying, yeah, go ahead and get that credit.
You know that also gives the Big Ten Tournament. Uh,
you know three apiece both times in Michigan won the
Big Ten Tournament this year and uh, you know.
Speaker 13 (01:43:25):
Football, we don't even talk about that, but the basketball school.
Speaker 1 (01:43:29):
I was told that this is this is I was
like Michigan.
Speaker 12 (01:43:33):
You know, I was told that Michigan State was a
basketball school.
Speaker 1 (01:43:37):
That's what I was told. Right again, what are you doing?
Speaker 12 (01:43:46):
I'm just saying, if it's you know, Tom is the
last time we won a national championship.
Speaker 13 (01:43:50):
Mary wasn't born yet.
Speaker 1 (01:43:51):
What are we doing? What are we actually doing right now?
Just basketball school stating facts? Apparently I'm just reading facts.
That's facts, is what we're doing.
Speaker 5 (01:44:01):
I don't know, Mary, I don't know what.
Speaker 2 (01:44:03):
And then anyway, MSU puts belt to ass on Michigan
maybe a couple of years back, and we're gonna keep
doing it again and again.
Speaker 1 (01:44:09):
You mean, like in the Big Tournament when Michigan State
went home after if you've.
Speaker 5 (01:44:12):
Gotta have the belt, nois ready, you have a.
Speaker 1 (01:44:14):
Whippo like I would have to dump that every time.
The last time.
Speaker 12 (01:44:18):
Michigan State won a national championship you don't have to
take your shoes off going through airport security.
Speaker 1 (01:44:23):
Damn, oh damn that really really personal, right, No personally,
I mean they just they just you know, just play.
Speaker 3 (01:44:30):
I just don't want to hear a transplant have to
talk about Michigan schooling.
Speaker 13 (01:44:33):
You know, I'm not a I mean, you know who
transplanted to what because that money, just like.
Speaker 1 (01:44:39):
You shouldn't be able to talk about Michigan.
Speaker 12 (01:44:42):
Onto the update, Well, thank you. Seventy to sixty four.
Tom Mizzell does not advanced to.
Speaker 13 (01:44:50):
The final four. Auburn does.
Speaker 12 (01:44:51):
Bruce Paul and Auburn their second final four in school history,
going ahead and beating Michigan State seventy to sixty four.
Number one seed Houston top to Tennessee sixty to fifty nine.
So that rounds out The final four is Duke, Florida, Houston,
and Auburn. For the men's side of things. Women's side,
South Carolina advances over DUKECAUS UCLA advances over LSU. That's
(01:45:13):
ls UCLA's first final four in program history. The game Cocks,
they're fifth straight under Dawn Staley. Yankees beat the Brewers
twelve to three. The Nationals outscored the Phillies five to one,
Blue Jays over the Orioles three to one, Raised beat
the Rockies six to four. In the Marlins walked it
off on a wild pitch to defeat the Pirates three
to two. And in the NBA two games, a whole
(01:45:34):
bunch of games going on right now, six thirty left
in the third quarter. The Trailblazers have a seventy to
sixty three lead over the Knicks. The rest of these
in the first quarter, with just about two minutes left,
all tied up between Atlanta and Milwaukee thirty four piece.
Detroit has a six point lead on Minnesota twenty to fourteen,
the Hornets with a twenty three to twenty one lead
over the Pelicans, and the Warriors lead the Spurs thirty
(01:45:57):
eight to twenty two.
Speaker 8 (01:45:58):
Back to you, guys, smart and you're listening a Fox
Sports Sunday, I want to use alongside former all from
Safety Carry Roads and we are coming to you live
from the tire Ride dot Com Studios.
Speaker 3 (01:46:10):
So the men's final four, all one seeds, all one seeds.
Speaker 5 (01:46:14):
Who's your pick? You got Florida?
Speaker 13 (01:46:15):
Correct?
Speaker 1 (01:46:16):
I have on my bracket. I have Florida, but I no,
So I saw a couple of tweets about this.
Speaker 12 (01:46:23):
I know that generally it's like our bracket, your bracket stinks,
and it's like something they're like frown upon.
Speaker 3 (01:46:28):
Right, but this year everyone stinks.
Speaker 12 (01:46:31):
No, well, this year if your bracket is awesome. Yeah,
it's almost an indictment, right because you picked all Chalco
congratulations you loser. Oh oh, congratulations Vanilla ice Cream. You know,
like you're boring, right.
Speaker 3 (01:46:42):
Absolutely, I do not disagree with you. It's like you
took all the easy answers.
Speaker 1 (01:46:46):
Absolutely, well, I'm Vanilla, I'm you.
Speaker 3 (01:46:52):
But you know, but your beginnings weren't that because you're
not you don't have.
Speaker 1 (01:46:55):
Those points like that.
Speaker 2 (01:46:56):
True, he's not up there, but your final four are
intent and that's what you're saying. But no, because you
said you're below me and the points, which is shocking.
But at least you're a final four hour still attact.
Only the second time in NCAA history that all the
number one seats a year.
Speaker 1 (01:47:13):
The year I have it in front of me, I
can tell you if you're two thousand and eight, Yes, Carrie,
that's right, and that's how we get into carry.
Speaker 3 (01:47:37):
That's pretty impressive.
Speaker 1 (01:47:39):
Good for you, Good for you, all right, carry roads,
carry on or off?
Speaker 2 (01:47:46):
Are you on or off for gender reveals? Gender reveals
that are safe. Nobody gets hurt. There are no fires
caused in the forest, no harm. How we feel about
gender reveals.
Speaker 1 (01:47:57):
I'm carry off, carry off, Okay.
Speaker 6 (01:48:01):
Nobody wants to know the agenda of your baby. We'll see,
we'll see the little, the little fellow, the little the
little lady once she arrives.
Speaker 5 (01:48:09):
And uh, yeah, keep your keep your pink and blues
to yourself.
Speaker 2 (01:48:14):
So how yeah, not doing a gender reveal gathering because
trust me, I hate gender reveal gatherings.
Speaker 3 (01:48:20):
I've gone to them. Sorry, friends, but yes, nobody we
go because.
Speaker 1 (01:48:24):
We don't know how to tell you no exactly.
Speaker 2 (01:48:26):
Austin Reeves just did a gender reveal for his brother
by wearing colored shoes against the Indiana Pacers, and he
wore pink shoes. Sure, and that's how his brother and
his wife found out what the gender of their baby was.
Speaker 1 (01:48:44):
And I thought, that's how you do it.
Speaker 5 (01:48:45):
That was kind of sweet.
Speaker 2 (01:48:46):
Of course, nobody, there's no party. You're not inviting anyone
to come over. You're saying, watch my brother play. He's
gonna tell us some kind of baby we're gonna have.
I thought that was sweet, but I agree with you.
I'm not for the general parties about that.
Speaker 5 (01:48:57):
Right, but I was. I was in, don't invite me
to any thing that's me anyway.
Speaker 1 (01:49:01):
But you know, like, yeah, I'm off that that really
is anything.
Speaker 3 (01:49:05):
He's not lying to you, all right.
Speaker 2 (01:49:08):
We talked about Janis to Goooper earlier today and his
comments about Lebron saying that he would drop to fifty
in a different era. But he also said recently that
winning is better than intimacy.
Speaker 3 (01:49:22):
Are you honor off on that Carrie who said that?
Speaker 2 (01:49:25):
Janni Takoumpo Yanna said winning is more than is better
than intimacy.
Speaker 17 (01:49:33):
I don't know where to go on, though, I'm gonna say.
I'm gonna say, carry on, carry on. I mean, intimacy
is such a big thing. It's one of those things
where the connection has to be there. I'm a connection guy.
I'm sure I would feel Janice as that guy. So
just being intimate with anyone wouldn't really me up or
(01:49:56):
rep me up. So I would say the winning part
of it, like having something successful happening and winning. I
take the winning over the intimacy.
Speaker 13 (01:50:03):
Yes.
Speaker 2 (01:50:03):
So he was doing an interview with The Athletic and
he was talking about the MVP and he was like,
MVP is great. I've been in the conversation. It's a
great compliment. At the end of the day, winning is
a different feeling. I was able to live it once
with the twenty twenty one title. I don't know if
it like counter a dozen or whatever, but winning is winning,
just like the NBA Cup. It was like, Wow, this feeling, man,
(01:50:26):
it's better than intimacy, That's what he was referring to.
Speaker 6 (01:50:30):
Well, I mean, I don't know about if it's better
than all intimacy, but yeah, I mean as a whole,
and it could it could.
Speaker 5 (01:50:37):
It could strike a nice little fill in there, for sure,
he laughed.
Speaker 2 (01:50:39):
As we know he likes to joke around, but I
do think he meant there was a little bit of
truth behind that, right, absolutely.
Speaker 5 (01:50:44):
That's a good one.
Speaker 1 (01:50:45):
Yes, all right, carry on or off that.
Speaker 2 (01:50:48):
Pukinakua announced on a podcast that he wants to retire
by the age of thirty.
Speaker 1 (01:50:54):
He's why are you telling us already seven years away?
Speaker 6 (01:50:57):
Yeah, yeah, I'm kind of off and on that one,
but I'm off I'm off. Okay, yeah, like you just
said exactly, like I'm I understand it. He's that's the
same thinking I had.
Speaker 1 (01:51:12):
Okay, So when I came.
Speaker 5 (01:51:13):
Into the league, I didn't tell everybody.
Speaker 1 (01:51:14):
I told my mom, Okay. I was like, that's different.
Speaker 5 (01:51:17):
I'll be done.
Speaker 6 (01:51:17):
I'll be done in four years. Like I literally didn't
want to play long at all.
Speaker 7 (01:51:21):
Why.
Speaker 1 (01:51:23):
I had bigger things. I had bigger goals on a
bigger vision for who I am. I'm not just, okay,
a football player, yeah, for sure.
Speaker 6 (01:51:29):
So I knew that going in, and I knew I
wanted to be able to walk around and be healthy
as well when I got done.
Speaker 3 (01:51:35):
Absolutely that I completely understand.
Speaker 5 (01:51:36):
I guess it's just sharing.
Speaker 1 (01:51:37):
It's just a sharing.
Speaker 2 (01:51:39):
And I because crazy though to hear you say that
you wanted to be done in four years, Because I
totally hear what you're saying. That you don't want to
walk around like LeVar Arrington around here, l looks like
he's hurting every time he walks around here, right, looks
like he's in pain.
Speaker 3 (01:51:52):
I see it.
Speaker 2 (01:51:53):
But that you wanted to be done in four because
you know there is a your football experience is not
forever there is. There is a time clock on it,
even for Tom Brady only lasted twenty years, but you.
Speaker 1 (01:52:06):
Know whatever, So it's crazy.
Speaker 2 (01:52:07):
And for him, Puka says, like he just kind of
wants to like be around family and like, yeah, be
actively involved with his family. And I totally get that.
I think it's announcing it.
Speaker 1 (01:52:18):
That's weird.
Speaker 2 (01:52:19):
Don't tell people that because people are not gonna draft
you now in like you know, legacy fantasy leaguers.
Speaker 5 (01:52:24):
Want to saw a question, do you really care about
the game or whatever?
Speaker 3 (01:52:26):
All of them, all of that, all right, carry on
or off that.
Speaker 2 (01:52:31):
Hallmark is making another football themed Christmas movie.
Speaker 1 (01:52:35):
This time it's about the Buffalo Bills. Oh my god,
carry off Carrie the freak.
Speaker 6 (01:52:43):
All way, we got enough of Josh Allen's and it's
superstar girlfriend.
Speaker 5 (01:52:48):
Well his wife. Now we get it. They're married.
Speaker 3 (01:52:52):
They're married.
Speaker 1 (01:52:53):
They just got me. They just got married. I'm pretty sure,
Yeah I did. I'm pretty sure they just did it.
Like fully, I think either way we'll confirm this, Yeah,
either fiance or yeah, whatever, we don't want to see
it anymore.
Speaker 5 (01:53:07):
We got it. You're good looking. You're the star quarterback
of the Buffalo Bills.
Speaker 1 (01:53:12):
Here a lot of hate he just made. He just
made a lot of baby showers. No man, Mary going
on today Sunday. I am the modern day grants, Okay,
modern day I want to be.
Speaker 6 (01:53:25):
I want to be in my house, on my couch
with a blanket on and watching the final four. I
don't want to go to it to a reveal. I
don't want to see Josh Allen's life Hallmark movie either.
Speaker 1 (01:53:37):
And I and I enjoyed beauty.
Speaker 5 (01:53:39):
I said he was good looking, got a beautiful fiance.
Speaker 1 (01:53:43):
A lot of they're engaged.
Speaker 13 (01:53:44):
They engaged.
Speaker 5 (01:53:45):
I'm married. Not a lot, not a lot of hating.
Speaker 1 (01:53:47):
I just don't want to hear about carry Scrooge.
Speaker 2 (01:53:49):
I mean we do, that's great, that's great, Mary, Let's
forget let's not forget that one there.
Speaker 3 (01:53:53):
He's not going to be the star of it. I mean,
when they did the Chiefs.
Speaker 2 (01:53:57):
One, there were cameos and a lot of the players
and they were a part of it. So we'll probably
see him, but he's not like gonna be in it.
I'm wondering if Aley Steinfeld will be in it at all,
because she's.
Speaker 3 (01:54:09):
Like a real actress.
Speaker 1 (01:54:10):
You, I don't think so.
Speaker 2 (01:54:12):
Listens like a cameo right like just that's I don't know,
I don't know. This was announced in a fun way,
which we'll get to on the other side. Since you
loved it so much.
Speaker 3 (01:54:20):
Don't go any for don't go anywhere. We'll wrap this up.

Martin on the updates.
Speaker 3 (01:55:15):
Now as we've called you, what is it? What did
you call him? Scrooge?
Speaker 1 (01:55:19):
Oh, Carrie Scrooge.
Speaker 2 (01:55:21):
Carry Scrooge, Carrie Scrooge. Not excited about this Bill's Hallmark movie.
But we have sound of how it was introduced, right, Shay, Yeah,
let's do it.
Speaker 13 (01:55:32):
What sum everybody?
Speaker 1 (01:55:33):
Good morning?
Speaker 10 (01:55:34):
Is the more Hamley here from the Buffalo Bills within
the Early Christmas Present.
Speaker 13 (01:55:39):
We have big news today.
Speaker 10 (01:55:41):
Hallmark Channel and the NFL have selected the Buffalo Bills
who own twenty twenty five count down to Christmas Movie draft.
Stay tuned this holiday season for the all new Hallmark
Channel movie Holiday touchdown of Bill's Love Story.
Speaker 8 (01:55:55):
Oh Carrie, you guys, I wish you could see him
right away, nodding in uh disapproval.
Speaker 5 (01:56:05):
And we were doing the Hallmark movie for I don't
want to see you?
Speaker 1 (01:56:09):
I know what what about?
Speaker 2 (01:56:11):
So it's supposed to really film in that like Buffalo
area at the stadium that they're right in the stadium
because they're building a new stadium right, so this might
be the last time you see this this stadium.
Speaker 1 (01:56:23):
We don't care. Love Story love story.
Speaker 5 (01:56:27):
Let them win a Super Bowl first, So.
Speaker 3 (01:56:29):
That's the problem here.
Speaker 1 (01:56:33):
That was low.
Speaker 3 (01:56:37):
Yeah, but he feels good about it. Ahead, all right, fine,
so we won't hang out and watch this movie. It's fine. No, no, no, okay,
Aaron Rodgers, Carrie, what is happening?
Speaker 2 (01:56:51):
So apparently Mike Mike Tomlin at meeting the meetings that
were happening in Palm Beach today, he spoke to the
reporters and all Tomlin said was, yeah, Aaron Rodgers came
to visit and it was a really great visit. There
is no further information. We do know Russell Wilson went
to the Giants, yes, And we do know also that
the Vikings GM recently said we're not closing the door
(01:57:14):
completely on Aaron Rodgers.
Speaker 5 (01:57:17):
Yeah.
Speaker 6 (01:57:17):
That's the most confusing part about all this story, right,
the Minnesota thing, because they're not They're really tight lipped
about the quarterback situation in general. Haven't even named JJ
McCarthy the guy.
Speaker 1 (01:57:29):
I've alluded to it, but you're right, hands, I.
Speaker 5 (01:57:31):
Haven't said it.
Speaker 7 (01:57:32):
Right.
Speaker 6 (01:57:32):
Even McCarthy's been on certain platforms and said he's not
the guy and he appreciates that or something like. It's
like a like an ongoing thing going right, Why is
the window still open or the door still open? Rand
Rodgers in Minnesota if they didn't get the deal done
earlier or even with.
Speaker 3 (01:57:47):
The Steelers, like why are you letting him dictate your future?
Speaker 1 (01:57:50):
Or they have no choice? Now I understand they.
Speaker 2 (01:57:53):
Don't have a choice, but at the same time, like,
don't you want to feel wanted and like it? I
feel like if I if I know they have no
other choice. Mason Rudolph is right now your quarterback the Steelers,
But you want.
Speaker 1 (01:58:04):
To feel wanted.
Speaker 3 (01:58:05):
And if this guy is like stringing me along, I
would be.
Speaker 2 (01:58:08):
Like, you know what, Mason Rudolph, Babe, I'm all for it,
Like let's do it.
Speaker 1 (01:58:14):
And they'll be nine and eight as they are a
lot of years because they are almost every year. What
except I was about get one more?
Speaker 2 (01:58:28):
You see, it's like all of this is it really
worth it for one maybe two more wins at this
point because he's not your future. He is your right
now because you have no other option. And part of
that is this you know, not great quarterback class because
there it doesn't seem like the Steelers want to move up.
It doesn't seem like that's what they're trying to do,
you know. And so it's like I just at this point,
it's like I would want to feel wanted, and if
(01:58:50):
you don't want me, I would be like, you know what,
I guess then we're just gonna go forward with Mason Rudolph,
maybe talk to Joe Flacco at some point and see
what we can talk.
Speaker 6 (01:59:00):
I'll tell you one thing before we got here, but
your feelings, your feelings as a GM can't be can't
be that that sensitive or that involved in the feeling
of what that player makes you feel like. You have
to get to a point where they are right now.
They've been barely in the playoff mix. They want to
have a chance to win some games in the playoffs.
Aaron Rodgers is the best guy.
Speaker 1 (01:59:18):
For them right now, but he still doesn't even want
to go there. Just I hear you, But I don't even.
Speaker 3 (01:59:24):
Think he wants to go there.
Speaker 2 (01:59:26):
Carrie always gave pleasure. I can't believe the three hours
have flown by so fast. Stay tuned, Mark Willard and
Ephraim Salon Yes, Fox Sports Radio,
