Speaker 1 (00:00):
Now here's a highlight from Coast to Coast AM on
iHeartRadio man.
Speaker 2 (00:05):
Welcome back George NORII with Vernon Mahumble back with us,
Founder and director of the Palmistry Institute in Portland, Oregon.
Vernon has formal training in Veda cosmology, which has taken
him to India many many times, and he combines Eastern
and Western astrological disciplines into his practice as well. His
(00:25):
website is linked up at Coast tocoastam dot com. He's
got a couple of books out, including The Palmistry Cards
and Talk to the Hand. Vernon, Welcome back George.
Speaker 3 (00:36):
Fantastic to be back on with you. Thank you so much.
Speaker 2 (00:39):
Looking forward to this. How did you get interested in
palm reading?
Speaker 3 (00:45):
It all started when I was walking around New York
and a friend pointed out a palmist who was sitting.
She was sitting on an easy chair on forty second
Street and and my friend said to me, get your
palm ready, and I said okay. And I was about
(01:07):
fifteen or sixteen at that time. And she looked at
my palm and she said two things, don't get married
too early, and number two, you're going to be doing
what I'm doing. One day, I was like a bounded
I was like thinking, really, I'm going to be sitting
in a lawn chair on forty seconds three giving readings
to people. But years later I met someone who became
(01:31):
my palm, my stream teacher and mentor, and I was
about twenty three twenty four at the time, and it
actually became my career about five six seven years later.
Speaker 2 (01:45):
What constitutes the palm.
Speaker 3 (01:49):
Well, it's our soul within our heart that's radiating all
the lines and the configurations and the symbols on our hands.
Even the shape of our hands, and the hand is
our roadmap really of our life work, our life purpose.
(02:09):
It talks about our talents, our emotions, and even our
past lives.
Speaker 2 (02:14):
Now we've heard that every fingerprint is different. Is every
palm print different?
Speaker 3 (02:20):
Every palm print is different because we're individuals. We're individual
we're individualistic, and we're individual souls. So even the palms,
the right and the left palm are completely different many
times because one reflects the right brain and the other
reflects the left brain. So even the two palms on
(02:43):
our own hands can be quite different.
Speaker 2 (02:46):
Why is there with law enforcement they talk about fingerprints,
but they don't talk about palm prints.
Speaker 3 (02:52):
Well, George, they just haven't investigated that aspect. But really,
the fingerprints don't change throughout one's life. The lines do
move around a lot of configurations, and symbology does kind
of fade or come into a play, but the fingerprints themselves,
(03:12):
from birth to death never changed. So law enforcement uses
them for identification purposes only, and they are right to
do that because they are an individualistic print out of
our sole purpose. But they're completely unaware of the extensive
(03:40):
knowledge of life, purpose and past lives that they hold.
Of course, they're not interested in that. They just got
to find the criminals. But the fingerprints on our hands
are completely different from each other. There's no fingerprint that's
ever wrapped loated. It's it's completely amazing.
Speaker 2 (04:03):
Now, your fingers are cut down into three digits, right, yeah, In.
Speaker 3 (04:09):
Other words, there are three segments on each one right.
Speaker 2 (04:11):
Which one is considered the fingerprint, the top one.
Speaker 3 (04:15):
The very top one on the upper segments of your fingers.
The fingerprints are the are embedded into the top section
of the of the palm of the fingers.
Speaker 2 (04:30):
The palm starts where the fingers.
Speaker 3 (04:33):
End absolutely and the fingers represent planets. For instance, the
index finger is Jupiter, the middle finger Saturn, the ring
finger is the Sun, and the pinky is Mercury. And
if your index finger is longer it mean than your
(04:55):
sun finger or your ring finger, it means that you're
a very independent person and you want to have control
over your life purpose and your life work. If the
sun finger or the ring finger is longer than the
index finger, it means that self expression is more important
than just financial gain or having power and control. Many
(05:19):
artists have really long ring fingers, and many CEOs have
really long index fingers.
Speaker 2 (05:27):
Now these lines in the palm, how do you know
what they mean?
Speaker 3 (05:32):
They're the chakra system. New agers know exactly what that is,
the first chakra, second chakra, all the way to the
seventh chakra. These lines have everything to do with the
energy system of the chakras. And they do move around,
and they do fade, and they do come into play,
and they are a pretty much a secondary part of palmistry.
(05:56):
When people George, when people think of palmistry, they mostly
all was think of the lines, especially the lifeline. But
there's there's much more deeply detailed information that gives knowledge
of a person's sole purpose and their work lines don't
(06:16):
do that. They just talk about if we're actually using
our energies and we're getting things done, or if we're not.
The chuckers are the energy systems.
Speaker 2 (06:28):
If you had ten people hold their palms up, would
they look similar.
Speaker 3 (06:33):
Absolutely not, because we're not similar. We're all we're all
we're all individuals. We all have our individual talents and abilities.
So now every poem you read is completely different, and
it's kind of it's it's kind of like reading a book.
People say, sometimes I grew up with with the statement, oh, well,
(06:56):
life doesn't come with instructions, but actually to a promise
that does. Our our hands are containing our instructions.
Speaker 2 (07:06):
What does a palm say about the nature of our
spiritual soul?
Speaker 3 (07:10):
It's it says that ultimately we are not this material body,
we are spiritual souls. We're eternal. Uh, We're just in
this material world for a very short, temporary amount of time,
and the soul is trying to get the attention of
(07:31):
the the bearer to come to the conclusion of actually, uh,
spiritual pursuits will give one happiness and fulfillment rather than
temporary material pleasures.
Speaker 2 (07:48):
Do you ever see a soul.
Speaker 3 (07:51):
No, uh, the the human I cannot see the soul.
But the soul is within the heart. It's within the
most inner core of the heart. And according to the
Vedic view, it's one ten thousands the size of the
tip of a hair. So that means if you take
the tip of a hair and cut into a hundred pieces,
(08:11):
and you take one of those pieces and cut it
into another one hundred pieces, that's the size of the soul.
So we don't have the scientific technology to view a soul.
Speaker 2 (08:24):
Does it have shape?
Speaker 3 (08:26):
Yes, this soul is not just an energy or a
light or something. It actually has a form. In other words,
in the spiritual world, we could be a man or
a woman, or a boy or a girl, or we
have a form, but that form does not die. It
doesn't have a material body. There's no birth, there's no death,
(08:47):
there's no disease, and there's no old age. The soul
is eternally youthful. Whatever type of body we have.
Speaker 2 (08:56):
When you die, the soul separates.
Speaker 3 (08:59):
Correct at the time of death, whatever one thinks about,
they take that body. Whatever one is attached to the
subtle body, and that's the mind, the intelligence, and the
ego it's the material covering of the soul, and that
(09:23):
material covering that takes us to another body. It's called
transmigration of the soul. So whatever we're attached to in
this lifetime, we focus on that at the time of death,
and then we take on that body.
Speaker 2 (09:40):
Does the soul echo the size of the human body?
Speaker 3 (09:45):
Well, interestingly enough, yours. A soul shrinks when it comes
into the material world, and the soul is actually brighter
than the sun. In the spiritual world. Our soul is radiant,
and the sun, the sun planet is incredibly hot and bright,
(10:09):
and it's an enormous sphere, but it's still it's still
something material. Whereas the souls in the spiritual world they're
full of devotion and love, mercy, empathy, humility, and they shine,
They just it and the spiritual world is fully illuminated
by the entities themselves.
Speaker 2 (10:33):
Whereabouts in the body vernon is the soul.
Speaker 3 (10:37):
It's in the most innercore of the heart. Uh. That's why, uh,
that's why, that's why. Uh what we when we think
of ourselves and we point to our cells, we point
to the heart when when we're praying or where we're saying,
oh my God, we put our hands on our heart,
(10:57):
because that's where the soul is, and the soul radiates
its methods through the arms into the agency of the hands,
and the soul has a lot to say.
Speaker 2 (11:13):
Does it have anything to do with the brain.
Speaker 3 (11:16):
The brain is consciousness, but again it has to do
with the material covering called the subtle body, which is
composed of mind, intelligence, and ego, and that can change
from body to body to body. The brain gives logic
and reason and analyzation, but it's the soul within the heart.
(11:38):
This is why intuition is much more powerful because it's
the intuition comes from the heart, the emotions and the feelings.
So when one is intuitive, that intuition is so much
more powerful than just logic and reason.
Speaker 2 (11:57):
You believe in reincarnation vernon absolutely and in in in
in the spiritual realm, it's called the transmigration of the soul, and.
Speaker 3 (12:08):
It means that we can we can continue to receive
uh one body after another and the it's it's it's
fascinating because a person who is like a searcher George
or a seeker, someone who asks these questions, who is God?
What is my purpose in life? What am I here,
(12:29):
for they've probably have already taken on at least one
hundred material human bodies. Because if someone is is just
on the planet and uh there, they don't inquire. They're
not inquisitive about the you know, let's say spiritual life
(12:49):
or or or or transcendence. They've probably just had a
few human births and they're still trying to enjoy pleasures
within the material world. But then when when one becomes
more advanced, they they they realize, actually, you know, I
(13:09):
find happiness in this mature world, but I'm not I'm
not I'm not content, I'm not satisfied. I'm not fully fulfilled.
So when a soul starts to think, well, why is
it that I'm enjoying in this maturer world? I'm enjoying
all the fruits of my labors, but I'm not fulfilled.
I get temporary happiness, and there's there's there's there's also
(13:31):
pain and suffering. Why why do I have to go
through this? So, after many many births and death in
a human body, a person finally begins to come to
an understanding of what am I doing here? And the
hand shows that progression of of advancement of consciousness and
(13:53):
there is no such thing yours as an old soul.
All souls are eternal. But the idea here is that
the old soul is someone who has been on a
search for meaning for a few lifetimes.
Speaker 2 (14:09):
But the phrase old soul seems to be a good thing.
Speaker 3 (14:13):
Oh, it's a wonderful thing. Yeah, but you know, it
does conjure the idea up that some souls are new
or they're but all souls, we're all eternal, we're we're
In Sanskrit, the soul is called sacha ananda. It means
that it's eternal, it's it's always joyful, and it's all.
(14:35):
It always has awareness, and it's never confused. That and
that sascha and nanda does not follow one into the
material world. We're constantly making mistakes. But when we when
we decide to uh come to the conclusion of the
(14:56):
that this material world is not really our home, we're
not meant to be here, then then people start making
spiritual uh in roads and they try to make spiritual
advancement and and the result is that a person becomes
humble inside, very very tolerant, and at the same time
(15:19):
very very very happy because they realize even they they
realize that this, this material world is not the source
source of their pleasure. It's it's what is the source
of pleasure is to understand that I'm not part of
this material world. And love is love is the key. Love,
Love is the answer whatever God a person believes in.
(15:43):
God is love. And even Christ said, uh, live in
the world, but don't be of it. And that's the key.
If one lives in the world and they're they're not
so much part of it. They're not attached. There's nothing
wrong with utilizing uh, you know, sell phones and cars
and like that, but don't be attached. The more we're attached,
(16:05):
the more we were not happy. But if we utilize
the fruits of the mature world but we're not attached
to them and we're constantly thinking of how to advance
in spiritual life, we will be happy. And that's what
that's the message of the soul that is radiating within
(16:26):
our hand.
Speaker 2 (16:28):
Vernon is the soul like the astral body.
Speaker 3 (16:32):
No, the astral body is a temporary body. The astral
body when we sleep at night. Sometimes that astral body
can go all over the place you can go, but
it sometimes it even contacts the ghostly realm, and it
could be very fearful.
Speaker 2 (16:49):
As it comes back.
Speaker 3 (16:50):
Right, Yeah, exactly. Actually, when we sleep at night, George,
the soul does not leave the body. That body that
you're talking about, the subtle body, the mind, the intelligence
that that leaves the body. And sometimes you know, when
we're woken up like violently or something, that that's that
that that that subtle body has to come back into
(17:13):
the body really quick. Sometimes it happens, and this is rare,
but sometimes it happens that a ghostly entity will try
to enter into the physical body of a sleeping person
while the subtle body is away. And when a subtle
body comes back, you know, it's it feels like a nightmare.
Speaker 2 (17:37):
That happens sometimes. It truly is fascinating. It's a science,
isn't it.
Speaker 3 (17:43):
Yeah, you know, the yes, it is. The palm is
an astrological chart for a palmist, and anything that an
astrologer can see, a palmist can see. For instance, we're
just talking about the fingers and the fingerprints. If you
look at your hand and either right or left, you'll
see that each finger has three segments and there's twelve
(18:08):
segments there and those are the signs of in astrology.
The sign signs meaning aries tarist, Gemini, cancer, Leo, Virgo.
Like that.
