Journalist Laure Delacloche normally encounters church pastoral workers worried about the problems faced by people in Lebanon. During her three days covering Pope Leo XIV's visit, she witnessed enthusiasm, excitement, and hope. "I saw several thousand people involved in social and pastoral work recharge their batteries," she reports.

What does Syria's new government mean for its residents? Journalist Claire Porter Robbins traveled to Syria to discover the reality for its people, including Christians, who make up about 2 percent of the population. Before the 14-year civil war, Christians were about 20 percent of Syria's population.
