Matt and Steve are a father and son duo who have 65 years of ministry experience between them. Matt has led worship in some capacity for 25 years and Steve has worked with students for more than 40 years. Join them as they discuss topics that cover everything from deconstructing your faith and ministry to marriage and parenting. Matt and Steve are story tellers and love to talk about their friendship as father and son (which, as you’ll hear, wasn’t always the case). Once a month or so they take time out to talk directly to ministers.

Have you ever heard someone say something along the lines of, "Suck it up, Buttercup. Real men don't cry." Yeah, try saying that to King David! Today the guys talk about Biblical manliness and the fact that real men do cry.

After talking about what it means to be a man, the guys unpack it a little further and dive into 1 Corinthians 16:13-14 and Ephesians 5:25. We often like to get to the "Wives submit to your husbands" part in Ephesians 5:22, but neglect the "Husbands love your wives as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her." Real manliness is taking care of your family, being your wife's biggest fan, and loving Jesus above all else.

Over the next three episodes, the guys take a look at what it means to be a man according to the scriptures. Steve and Matt unpack 1 Corinthians 13:11 and what it means to be a man. Matt also mentions the book The Intentional Father by Jon Tyson.

For a very long time, churches have marked the progression of maturity in Christianity as regularly attending church > joining a small group > serving in the church. All of those are great, but they don't guarantee that you have matured, or that you're even a follower of Christ! Join Steve and Matt as they talk about the marks of a disciple, and they even offer some practical advice.

We felt like we had to weigh in on Charlie Kirk's death and the cultural reaction to it. Bear in mind: THIS IS NOT A POLITICAL EPISODE. We take a look at what people have said about him for good and ill, but our focus is not on Charlie Kirk but on Jesus Christ. This is in no way a praise session for a person, political leaning or ideology, nor is it a slamming session.
