The stranger invites Taryn to follow the orange line and lends his flask to Taryn to nurse Lumina back to health. Whatever liquid the stranger carries instead begins to dissolve her. Meanwhile Barney offers up more of his blood to Anyra, who willingly absorbs it through her marked hand as Eike observes everything, feeling like an adult in a room full of children.

Barney notices strange shapes sliding under his skin and bleeds himself in an attempt to flush them out. Anyra, strangely drawn to Barney’s blood, discovers that she can absorb the blood and somehow alter the mark seared into her palm. Eike clocks this disturbing development but Taryn is distracted by the appearance of a stocky stranger smoking a quash pipe.
