Beyond The Call Experiences of High Trauma Occupations

Beyond The Call Experiences of High Trauma Occupations

Beyond The Call looks at the people behind the occupations we respect and admire, or sometimes take for granted. We look beyond the blood, guts and danger, and look at the whole journeys of people that put their own wellbeing to the test in hundreds of different occupations. Paramedics, Firefighter, Police, Corrections, Mental Health Specialists, Emergency and Intensive medical personnel, Tow Truck Drivers, Teachers, Undertakers.... The list of jobs that cause trauma and harm to participants is extensive. Trauma effects the employee, the families, the community. We take a long look at people who have lived these special occupations, and we explore what drew them to the job? what kept them in the job? What costs did it have for them and their families? What positives came from the job? and what healing journeys did they undertake? We talk to experts in the fields of trauma and recovery, and show people that there is a journey forward after physical and mental injuries that came as part of their occupations. Warning: Some content is sensitive, and will include PTSD, suicidal ideation and attempts, graphic scenes, and graphic images. Content can be triggering and emotional. Please use your discretion. We explore occupational trauma, organisational trauma, vicarious trauma and much more. But it is not just doom and gloom, you will hear uplifting stories of overcoming seemingly impossible injuries, laughter, love, community, and hope. We will go much deeper into lived experiences of those in high trauma occupations!!
