When I was a teenager, I constantly compared myself with others. As a result, I developed many self-sabotaging beliefs, which produced feelings of inferiority, inadequacy and insecurity. I felt worthless and it seemed like my life had no purpose. These limiting beliefs negatively affected my health (mental and physical), how I related with others, and how I performed academically in school. I started finding my identity in Christ and realised that the first step to transforming my life, was renewing my mind (Romans 12:2). This was the game changer and after allowing the Lord to renew my mind, I became a secure and confident person who knew (and functioned in) his identity and purpose in life. For over twenty five years, I’ve coached, mentored and pastored teenagers and young adults. A few years ago, I started a life coaching business called - ‘Master Reset’, aimed at taking people from where they are, to where they want to be. I’ve written four books and recently launched the ‘Master Reset Podcast’, with the mission of helping children of God overcome mental & spiritual blockages and align their lifestyles with their God-given purpose. Thank you for listening. My books: https://masterreset.co.za/book-resources/
In today's eternal perspective episode, Nigel delves into practical examples in the Bible, where the principles he shared in part 1, are fleshed out. He expounds on King Saul's and Jonathan's relationship with David.
He also shares a personal testimony of how the Lord set him free from some of the things of this world, that at one stage, entrapped him.
Do you find comfort and relief from stress in things and practices that God doesn’t approve of? Anything that replaces God as your source (i.e. of comfort, stress relief, provision, protection, etc), is an idol.
In today’s eternal perspective episode, Nigel gives greater understanding on the systems of the world that Satan created, to fully satisfy all the lusts of the human soul. He also shares the antidote to be set free from the...
One of the most popular Scripture passages is Psalm 37:4 - “Delight yourself in the Lord and He will give you the desires of your heart.” Many believe that this passage means that if we take pleasure in God, then He will make our dreams a reality.
In today’s Eternal Perspective episode, Nigel gives a fresh perspective of this popular verse, after delving into the ancient Hebraic understanding of the words in this passage.
Have you ever thought: ‘I need to know this in order for me to have peace’? The implication of this mindset is that your peace is based on what you know. The truth is, our peace is not based on what we know, but on WHO we know. - I.e. knowing the character and nature of our Heavenly Father. Today’s episode is part 2 of an earlier episode we published on 12 April 2024. Nigel briefly unpacks the deeper meaning of living your life i...
Have you been so disappointed by people in your past, that you decided to exclusively trust God and not people anymore?
In today’s Eternal Perspective episode, Nigel will be picking up on the series he started a few months ago (“How I Overcame The Lies That I Believed”) and through personal and biblical examples, debunk today’s lie.
What is the world that children of God are free from? The apostle John said:“For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son…” (John 3:16) In his later writings, he said: “Do not love the world or anything in the world…” (1 John 2:15). Is John contradicting himself?
In today’s Eternal Perspective episode, Nigel unpacks the biblical meaning of the word ‘world’, and highlights the only way to be set free from it and sta...
Envy is what the Bible calls covetousness. It’s when we have a strong desire to possess what belongs to someone else. In today’s Eternal Perspective episode, Nigel briefly unpacks what envy is and highlights (from Scripture and practical experience) how it negatively affects the human body. He also touches on the breeding ground of envy and shares the antidote to overcoming it.
Are you struggling with letting go of bitterness? From a human perspective, it makes sense to harbour bitterness against someone who has hurt you, or caused you pain. From a biblical perspective, bitterness is wisdom, but it is wisdom that is “…earthly, sensual and demonic.” James 3:15
In today’s Eternal Perspective episode, Nigel briefly sheds light on the devastating effects of bitterness, and how to stay free from it.
“There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear, because fear has to do with punishment. The one who fears is not made perfect in love.” (1 John 4:18)
Does this scripture imply that love drives out all fear, including the fear of God? The short answer is no. The fear of God and the love of God, are two sides of the same coin. Nigel unpacks this in today’s 2nd episode of his two-part series on Fear.
From a biblical perspective, is fear always negative? How did the ancient Hebrews understand fear? Today’s Eternal Perspective episode, is part 1 of a two episode series on the topic of fear. Nigel unpacks the ancient Hebraic understanding of fear, and distinguishes between ungodly and godly fear. You will be empowered to be free and stay free from ungodly fear.
Jesus said: “And do not call anyone on earth ‘father,’ for you have one Father, and he is in heaven.” (Matthew 23:9). Since God is our Father, is it necessary or even biblical to have spiritual fathers in the Body of Christ?
In today’s Eternal Perspective episode, Nigel unpacks biblical evidence that reveals how essential spiritual fathers are to God’s plan and purpose for His children.
Jesus told a father whose son had epilepsy: “If you can believe, all things are possible to him who believes. The father replied: “Lord, I believe; help my unbelief!”(Mark 9:23-24) Can you relate to this father?
In today’s Eternal Perspective episode, Nigel shares insight into what unbelief is, and how to shift from unbelief, to fully trusting God.
When you come to know God as Father, you enter God’s rest, since your spirit becomes one with the Holy Spirit. That said, why is it that so many children of God (on a practical level) experience fear and anxiety? A believer’s spirit may be at rest, but it doesn’t necessarily mean that their soul is at rest.
In today’s Eternal Perspective episode, Nigel unpacks how to constantly experience God’s rest in your soul, regardless of cir...
Why does God’s discipline feel like punishment? When God disciplines us, He is not punishing us for doing something wrong, He is training us to master our souls, so that He can entrust us with His call for our lives.
In today’s Eternal Perspective episode, Nigel distinguishes between discipline under the law and discipline in Christ. He applies this sonship principle to how you should discipline those who are submitted to your sp...
What is the grace of God? Grace is understood (by many believers) to mean - unmerited favour. The spirit behind that definition is true, however, it’s incomplete.
Grace is God’s power and authority that He imparts to us, to enable us to fulfil His purpose. We can’t fulfil God’s will and purpose in our own strength, but only by His grace. In today’s Eternal Perspective episode, Nigel briefly unpacks the ancient Hebraic understandin...
Is freedom doing what we want, when we want and how we want it? Many people focus on the benefits of freedom and neglect the responsibility of freedom.
In today’s ’Eternal Perspective’ episode, Nigel highlights the reality that freedom and responsibility are two sides of the same coin. You cannot experience true freedom without fulfilling the responsibility that God gives you.
In our walk with the Lord, we experience tests that we’re not even aware of. Our response to these unexpected tests will reveal the degree to which we trust God, and consequently, the degree to which we’ll fulfil our divine calling. In today’s ’Eternal Perspective’ episode, Nigel gives some biblical examples of people who experienced unexpected tests and shares insight on how to be prepared for it.
Do God’s promises automatically manifest in your life? Many followers of Christ believe this, however, the promises of God must be activated before you can experience it in a practical way.
In today’s Eternal Perspective episode, Nigel explains how to activate God’s promises in your life.

Many followers of Christ believe that repentance and godly sorrow are the same thing. The truth is, there is a distinction. In today’s Eternal Perspective episode, Nigel delves into the ancient Hebraic understanding of repentance, to give a clearer picture of what it means.
