Enchantment of Eternity’s Star Trek Episode Reviews

Welcome to Enchantment of Eternity. I’m Marc, and I’m on a mission to analyze every episode of the Star Trek Franchise. I started with The Original Series, and then moved on to The Next Generation, and now I’m covering Deep Space Nine and Voyager in order of airdate. It’s my mission statement to always give my honest opinion on each and every episode regardless of what the popular opinion is, so sometimes I have some hot takes. I prefer character based stories. I try to analyze the writing, acting, cinematography, and music of each episode, with emphasis on the writing. I explore themes and commentaries on the episode and give my opinion on whether or not it works, as well as explore some behind the scenes tidbits and trivia, and share my personal experience with the episode. We also hear from my patreon supporters and what they think of the episode. So check me out and give it a listen. Support me on Patreon: https://www.patreon.com/enchantmentofeternity

Star Trek: Voyager Season 3 Episode 12 "Macrocosm" explained. Join me as I review and recap the episode that's a mix between "Genesis" and "Starship Mine" where two officers return from a shuttle mission to find the ship in disarray just like "Genesis" But instead of the crew being de-evolved they've been overrun but giant virus bugs. And so just like "Starship Mine" Janeway has act like a bad ass going around with a big gun kickin...

Star Trek: Deep Space Nine Season 5 Episode 9 "The Ascent" explained. Join me as I review and recap the episode where we experience the whole shuttle craft crash cliché for the umpteenth time, but this time it features Quark and Odo sniping at each other for 40 minutes of screen time. Don't get me wrong, I love the Quark and Odo dynamic, but I often compare to really rich dark chocolate: great in small doses but too much it's kind ...

Join me as I review the second TNG film, a beloved film that many consider one of the best Star Trek movies, and although I do like, I don't quite agree that it's as good as everyone says, as I think it has structural problems and the character of the Borg Queen was a bad idea that never should have been introduced. But I do like Patrick Stewart's acting.

Star Trek: Voyager Season 3 Episode 10 "Warlord" explained. Join me as I review and recap the episode where Kes' body is taken over by a Warlord. In a sort of rehash of the DS9 episode "The Passenger" where Bashir goes to treat a criminal and instead the criminal uploads his conciseness into him in order to kill people and do evil things. Same thing happens here except with Kes instead of Bashir. And on top of that it's derivative ...

Star Trek: Deep Space Nine Season 5 Episode 7 "Let he who is without sin" explained. Join me as I review and recap the infamously bad episode where Worf and Dax go to the Risa and argue with each other the whole entire time. Worf joins a group of conservative "family values" time who tries to get Risa shut down because they think they make the Federation weak, and they even resort to terrorist tactics to accomplish their goals. And...

Star Trek: Voyager Season 3 Episodes 8 & 9 "Future's End Parts 1 and 2" explained. Join me as I review and recap the two parter that tries to recapture the magic of Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home and fails miserably. The "present day" LA doesn't feel like present day, it's too goofy and cheesy, it feels like something dreamed up by studio execs who are out of touch with modern culture. And the dialog seems like it was written by...

Star Trek: Deep Space Nine Season 5 Episode 6 "Trials and Tribble-ations" explained. Join me as I review and recap the great and renown episode that takes old TOS footage and splices in the (then) modern characters of DS9. And this was glorious and done so well where it seems nearly seamless. And it's a great tribute to The Original Series, and it's Deep Space Nine acknowledging its roots. I mean how great is it to see Sisko talkin...

Star Trek: Voyager Season 3 Episode 7 "Sacred Ground" explained. Join me as I review and recap the episode where Kes (out of character) wanders off and sticks her hand in a giant weird glowing thingy and then (shocker of all shocks) is put in a coma and is in danger of dying. So Janeway then must complete these religious rituals and go on her own spiritual journey in order save Kes' life, but actually it turns out none of that was ...

Star Trek: Deep Space Nine Season 5 Episode 5 "The Assignment" explained. Join me as I review and recap the episode where Keiko is possessed by a Pah-wraith in order to manipulate O'Brien into killing the prophets for them. This is when DS9 really starts to go full fantasy with the introduction of evil prophets. And this is nothing by a cliché body possession story that Trek as done many times before. Plus it adds the old "24" trop...

Star Trek: Deep Space Nine Season 5 Episode 3 "Nor the Battle to the Strong" explained. Join me as I review and recap the episode where the Klingons attack a Federation colony, kill them in the most brutal way, while also destroying starships near the area. The Klingons. THE KLINGONS!!! this comes even after a cease fire is declared 3 episodes ago and no real explanation is ever given as to why. I mean WTF the Klingons are supposed...

Join me as I review and recap the episode where Worf gets a crush on a visiting Klingon who turns out to be Quark's ex-wife. Star Trek: Voyager Season 3 Episode 6 "Remember" explained. Join me as I review and recap the episode that feels like a TNG episode, because it was, that is the script was based off a TNG script that never got made. However it seems to me that this works much better as a Voyager episode as B'Elanna works better in this role than Troi would have because of her angry disposition. And this over all is an amazing episode that lures yo...

Star Trek: Voyager Season 3 Episode 4 "False Profits" explained. Join me as I review and recap the episode where the two Ferengi who were stranded in the Delta Quadrant in the TNG episode "The Price" pop up. Which is a concept I thought I'd like but what they do with it is terrible, as they have to do some contrived plot of Neelix dressing up as a Ferengi and then trying to fulfill a prophecy, when really all they had to do is beam...

Star Trek: Deep Space Nine Season 5 Episode 1 "Apocalypse Rising" explained. Join me as I review and recap the episode where Sisko, Worf, Odo and O'Brien go under cover, disguised as Klingons in order to expose Gowron as a Challenging, only to get caught but then Odo discovers that it was Martok who was the changeling all along. Join me as I review and recap the episode where The Doctor runs out of memory space and needs to update his hard drive, or he'll be shut down. And they try to play this off for obvious and cheap comedy. Oh and also there's a subplot about some alien of the week attacking Voyager, which the episode and promos try to play them off as big and scary but all Voyager needs to d...

Star Trek: Voyager Season 2 Episode 25 "Flashback" explained. Join me as I review and recap the episode where SULU IS BACK!!! Well, sort of. We get a weak story about Tuvok having a disease causing him to go back in his memories when he served under Sulu, and nothing has anything really to do with the virus, so is all a nostalgic waste of time. And as good as it was to see George Takei again, I didn't like the fact that it had to b...
