Welcome to Enchantment of Eternity. I’m Marc, and I’m on a mission to analyze every episode of the Star Trek Franchise. I started with The Original Series, and then moved on to The Next Generation, and now I’m covering Deep Space Nine and Voyager in order of airdate. It’s my mission statement to always give my honest opinion on each and every episode regardless of what the popular opinion is, so sometimes I have some hot takes. I prefer character based stories. I try to analyze the writing, acting, cinematography, and music of each episode, with emphasis on the writing. I explore themes and commentaries on the episode and give my opinion on whether or not it works, as well as explore some behind the scenes tidbits and trivia, and share my personal experience with the episode. We also hear from my patreon supporters and what they think of the episode. So check me out and give it a listen. Support me on Patreon: https://www.patreon.com/enchantmentofeternity

In this video I review episode 25 of Season 5 of Star Trek Deep Space Nine "In the Cards"
Join me as I cover one of the best two parters in the Star Trek franchise, as Voyager goes from it's worst season to it's best season with the introduction of a great new character, and the best use of the Janeway / Chakotay relationship.

Join me as I cover the holodeck episode that proves Paris is a terrible writing and that the Voyager writers ruined the show so much in season 3 they long to get back to season 1

Star Trek: Deep Space Nine Season 5 Episode 23 "Blaze of Glory" explained. Join me as I review and recap the episode where the Maquis story line is put to rest. I do like how they resolve this, it is tragic seeing Eddington deal with the consequences of what the Maquis wrought. However I feel like this could have been built up to better. The Sisko / Eddington conflict never felt fully developed to me and I feel like there should ha...
Star Trek: Voyager Season 3 Episode 24 "Displaced" explained. Join me as I review and recap the episode where Voyager let's themselves be conquering by the world's laziest conquerors. The Voyager crew just can't seem to hold on to their ship, and are always letting random aliens take over their ship. In this case there was several avenues they could have stopped them had they been more competent. That being said this was a fun "pop...
Star Trek: Deep Space Nine Season 5 Episode 22 "Children of Time" explained. Join me as I review and recap the timey wimey episode that I think was a good idea but lacked in execution. It has a problem with the time travel logic that I can't look beyond because the episode hinges on it. And the really frustrating thing about it is that there was an easy out. There was an ending that would have made perfect sense that I propose in t...
Star Trek: Voyager Season 3 Episode 23 "Distant Origin" explained. Join me as I review and recap a well beloved episode that I think is pretty good. It's the episode where we find out that sentient dinosaurs left Earth billions and billions of years ago and set up a civilization in the delta quadrant that is far more technically advanced than the Federation. However what the plot of the episode boils down to is a different version ...
Star Trek: Deep Space Nine Season 5 Episode 21 "Soldiers of the Empire" explained. Join me as I review and recap the most Klingony Klingon episode that ever Klingoned. And it was great! All the new Klingon characters were dynamic and fleshed out and felt like their own characters. And the story was really well constructed to test Worf's ability as first officer as he has to manage his crew and keep them from exploding while also de...
Star Trek: Voyager Season 3 Episode 22 "Real Life" explained. Join me as I review and recap the episode where The Doctor creates a holographic family on the holodeck, the problem is however they are not self aware of sentient. They don't know they're holograms, and they only behave like his family because they were programmed to. In other words they're NPCs. Therefore when one of them dies for example The Doctor acts sad, and the a...
Star Trek: Deep Space Nine Season 5 Episode 20 "Ferengi Love Songs" explained. Join me as I review and recap another dumb Ferengi episode. This time the Grand Dingus forms a secret romance with Moogie. Ishka demonstrates what a terrible mother she is, Quark demonstrates what a selfish prick he is, we get the same old joke about how the Grand Nagus is super greedy, but now added jokes about him being senile, and Brunt is always hidi...
Star Trek: Deep Space Nine Season 5 Episode 19 "Ties of Blood and Water" explained. Join me as I review and recap a nice little episode, that's a follow up to "Second Skin" where Kira has to care for Ghemor: a Cardassian she's come to see as a father figure. Having caring for him causes her to have flashbacks to her own father's death and how she couldn't handle it, and she has a similar reaction here. We also get the return of Wey...
Star Trek: Voyager Season 3 Episode 21 "Before and After" explained. Join me as I review and recap an episode that is a fan favorite, so I'm forced to give an unpopular opinion that many might disagree with because I did not care for this episode. I'm sorry but Kes and Tom being married and having a daughter who marries Harry Kim and they have son is a deal breaker for me. I find that idea so absurd and out of character for our mai...
Star Trek: Deep Space Nine Season 5 Episode 17 "A Simple Investigation" explained. Join me as I review and recap the episode where little Odo falls in lurve. Actually it's a good romance, I liked thought it made sense for Odo and had strong chemistry. And it was an intriguing crime mystery story as well. Although it probably should have happened while Odo was still a humanoid, but whatever. Come see my first reaction as I breakdown...
Star Trek: Deep Space Nine Season 5 Episode 18 "Business as Usual" explained. Join me as I review and recap probably the best Quark character story in the show. Instead of doing a stupid comedy, this is actually a quite serious and suspenseful story. And a great character story for Quark as it shows how much he's grown since being around Hew-mons for too long. As he claims to be a true Ferengi at heart but when it comes down to it,...
Star Trek: Voyager Season 3 Episode 20 "Favorite Son" explained. Join me as I review and recap the episode where they actually expected us to believe that Harry Kim was really an alien from the Delta Quadrant and it's just a happy coincidence that he happened to be on the one Federation ship that went to the Delta Quadrant, this is beyond stupid. But of course it turns out not to be the case (obviously) but what's more stupefying i...
Star Trek: Voyager Season 3 Episode 19 "Unity" explained. Join me as I review and recap an episode that's hated and I have no idea why. Sure the murder mystery plot is cliched, but it has a great character story between Tuvok and Neelix, one of the best the show as ever done. I love how Neelix finally calls Tuvok out on being a condescending prick, have been waiting forever for that. Come see my first reaction as I breakdown the ep...
