Enchantment of Eternity’s Star Trek Episode Reviews

Welcome to Enchantment of Eternity. I’m Marc, and I’m on a mission to analyze ever episode of the Star Trek Franchise. I started with The Original Series, and then moved on to The Next Generation, and now I’m covering Deep Space Nine and Voyager in order of airdate. It’s my mission statement to always give my honest opinion on each and every episode regardless of what the popular opinion is, so sometimes I have some hot takes. I prefer character based stories. I try to analyze the writing, acting, cinematography, and music of each episode, with emphasis on the writing. I explore themes and commentaries on the episode and give my opinion on whether or not it works, as well as explore some behind the scenes tidbits and trivia, and share my personal experience with the episode. We also hear from my patreon supporters and what they think of the episode. So check me out and give it a listen. Support me on Patreon: https://www.patreon.com/enchantmentofeternity

Star Trek: Voyager Season 2 Episode 2 "Initiations" explained. Join me as I review and recap the episode where Nog appears as a Kazon. I mean it's Aaron Eisenberg the actor who plays Nog, playing a Kazon, but you can't hear his voice without hearing Nog. And he's every bit as annoying as Nog and then some. And we delve deeper into Kazon culture and that's just as boring as it sounds, as the Kazon are just budget Klingons. So the ep...

Star Trek: Voyager Season 2 Episode 1 "The 37's" explained. Join me as I review and recap the episode where Janeway meets Emilia Earhart, in a TOS style episode where we learn that aliens travelled the vast distance of the galaxy just so they could gather up slave labor, like they couldn't find any closer. Anyway among the humans abducted by aliens from Earth in 1937 is Emilia Earhart who is still in stasis which Voyager revised. B...

Star Trek: Deep Space Nine Season 3 Episode 25 "Facets" explained. Join me as I review and recap the episode where Jadzia under goes a Trill ritual to meet Dax's past hosts. It's an interesting character exploration for Dax and it gives the other actors a chance to play different characters, but the main story line with Odo and Curzon becoming their own joined person was a really interesting character exploration of both Curzon and...

Star Trek: Voyager Season 1 Episode 13 "Faces" explained. Join me as I review and recap the episode where Tuvok behaves like gym teacher to a group of misfit Marquis and makes them run laps around the ship. Look, I like the idea of the show exploring the pains of integrating the Marquis into the Starfleet crew, but this should have been done at the start of the season not the end of it. And this is the total wrong way to do it, as ...

Star Trek: Deep Space Nine Season 3 Episode 24 "Family Business" explained. Join me as I review and recap the episode where we meet Shakaar the handsome leader of Kira's Resistance Cell who definitely is NOT a candle ghost. He was okay, I think it's a bit ridiculous that her cell was named after a person but whatever. This episode is more interesting for it's portrayal of Kai Winn trying to seize power as Bajor's First Minister and...

Star Trek: Deep Space Nine Season 3 Episode 23 "Family Business" explained. Join me as I review and recap the episode where we meet Moogie and Brunt, two characters I couldn't care less about. And the episode is just as annoying and boring than any Ferengi episode. It's not at all funny it's just annoying with a lot of plot holes. Come see my first reaction as I breakdown the episode and attempt to give my in depth analysis

Star Trek: Voyager Season 1 Episode 13 "Faces" explained. Join me as I review and recap the episode where B'elanna gets split into two people a Klingon, and a human. In a VERY on the nose attempt to explore the inner battle between B'elanna's two halves, this is a very clunky and sloppy way to explore those with mixed heritage and it mostly come off as silly and ridiculous. The only thing that saves this episode is the Vidiian stor...

Star Trek: Deep Space Nine Season 3 Episode 22 "Explorers" explained. Join me as I review and recap the episode where Jake and Benjamin Sisko go on a father / son trip on an ancient Bajoran sailing space ship. There are some great character moments between the two and Benjamin and Jake continue to be the strongest father / son relationship in Trek, but the main story about them sailing a space ship to prove the ancient Bajorans mad...

Star Trek: Voyager Season 1 Episode 12 "Cathexis" explained. Join me as I review and recap this very forgettable episode about alien entities taking over someone's body and doing nefarious stuff. Something we've seen on Star Trek dozens of times before. And at the same time a goofy story of Chakotay's spirit running around the ship. yawn. Come see my first reaction as I breakdown the episode and attempt to give my in depth analysis

Star Trek: Voyager Season 1 Episode 11 "Heroes and Demons" explained. Join me as I review and recap the Doctor's first big adventure, as he goes on an away mission in the holodeck to try to recover 3 missing crew members. In which he has to play out Beowulf where the monster is instead a photonic alien angry at the Voyager crew. It's a fun little adventure, nothing spectacular but not without its moments. Come see my first reaction...

Star Trek: Deep Space Nine Season 3 Episode 19 "Through the Looking Glass" explained. Join me as I review and recap the return to the Mirror Universe. This time it's Sisko that goes, and I find this is where the mirror universe episodes start to go downhill. In DS9 the mirror universe have diminishing returns as each one is lesser than the other. This episode loses the gritty "edge of your seat" trapped in hell feel that "Mirror, M...

"Star Trek: Voyager Season 1 Episode 10 "State of Flux" explained. Join me as I review and recap this amazing episode with the big reveal of Seska being a Cardassian spy whose working with the Kazon. It was a fun little mystery and a great twist. This was apparently planned for very early on and in an expert move they made a point to establish Seska's character first, before making the reveal, which is the great kind of story telli...

Star Trek: Deep Space Nine Season 3 Episode 18 "Distant" explained. Join me as I review and recap number 24 in my Top 25 Worst Episodes of the Star Trek Franchise countdown. This misguided episode is an attempt to go inside Bashir's head as he's dying, but it comes off as incredibly hooky, and doesn't sell it as each other character represents an aspect of Bashir's personality but then they all get killed off right away so who care...

Star Trek: Voyager Season 1 Episode 8 "Emanations" explained. Join me as I review and recap a mediocre episode that tries to explore the topic of what happens after you die, and also one's beliefs being challenged and turned upside down. And while I think these are worth while concepts to cover, I don't think the episode goes far enough, and while not terrible, seems kind of incomplete and full of moments where you could feel the h...
