Welcome to the Navigating the Wilderness Podcast! My name is Nicole Delaney and I feel blessed to be on this journey with you. The wilderness is often a place where we feel alone but it’s a place where God not only meets us but He transforms the way we see Him and He reveals more of our identity in Him. It’s a time when we can see aspects of the Lord that we normally wouldn’t recognize. It can be a painful time but it can also be a beautiful time. We will discuss some of these things on this podcast and how to recognize God’s voice amid a hard season. I don’t have all the answers but I hope I can help you feel less alone and share insights I’ve gleaned along the way. We’ll also share the stories of others who have traveled this path with the Lord and how God met them. I pray that you are encouraged and strengthened on your journey. Love and blessings, Nicole

This week I am speaking about gratitude and stewardship. The Wilderness is a place where we get what we need but not necessarily what we want. If we're not careful the temptation can become to focus on what looks like deficiency or lack and fail to recognize God's sufficiency in our life. Gratitude is a powerful weapon against discouragement when life becomes challenging.

The heart was always off-limits to surgeons. Cutting into it spelled instant death for the patient. That is, until a ragtag group of doctors scattered across the Midwest and Texas decided to throw out the rule book. Working in makeshift laboratories and home garages, using medical devices made from scavenged machine parts and beer tubes, these men and women invented the field of open heart surgery. Odds are, someone you know is alive because of them. So why has history left them behind? Presented by Chris Pine, CARDIAC COWBOYS tells the gripping true story behind the birth of heart surgery, and the young, Greatest Generation doctors who made it happen. For years, they competed and feuded, racing to be the first, the best, and the most prolific. Some appeared on the cover of Time Magazine, operated on kings and advised presidents. Others ended up disgraced, penniless, and convicted of felonies. Together, they ignited a revolution in medicine, and changed the world.
