The night starts in a mad dash that sees the party getting separated. With too many things to handle and not everyone on the same page, things seem dire as the party realizes you can't swing a sword at every problem.

The spider continues to harass the party. They struggle with the distance this monstrosity uses to its advantage. The heroes manage to reclaim the lost statue head and decide it's time for a much needed and deserved rest, so they return to the hidden library.

The party is able to cleanse the third statue in the monastery and are able to spend more time with the benevolent ghost of Zhi. Pressing forward they finally come to the titular tree of the monastery and the reason for its construction. Now, can they deal with the remaining haunts and monsters surrounding their prize?

Collecting themselves after the fight the party explore the rooms they ran through and tidy up the broken statue. Despite being tired they continue on to the center of the monastery. Here they find an angry ghost and the group's weak note taking serves as a huge disadvantage. Yet, they hard pass into the next room and find another statue, this one protected by a familiar if not lackluster foe.

The party battles the undead monks in the infirmary. However, they let one slip away and the companions give chase. In the next room they find a statue that they were looking for, unfortunately they also find more nindoru.

The companions are able to purify the first statue in the monastery. Yet, they are still forced to fight every step of the way as they reclaim the ruins from the lurking abominations.

The fight in the garden gets resolved as the party continues to prove its prowess. Ari and Gardis address the rift in their relationship. Red’s keen senses allow him to find a long forgotten secret and the rewards are immense.

The mysterious light that may be a lantern causes the companions some distress as they wrestle over a solution. Not finding any good ones POPs takes the matter into his own hands. They then convince their comrades to report back to Willowshore while the rest venture further down Pilgrim's Path. Coming to a haunted forest, can the brave protectors withstand an ambush by the undead?

Finishing off the fire monsters goes smoothly enough, but the mystery of the shrine seems to be a bigger issue. Larger still are the monsters that come out at night.

The rain picks up as they continue down the path and are surprised to find someone, alone and scared on the trail. Will this party still be considered Protectors? Finally, the party arrives at the second shrine and things get hot!
