Speaker 1 (00:00):
We have a very special guest joining us this morning.
Eric Bowser is a Canadian voice actor. You are going
to recognize all of the voices. He's going to talk
about Looney Tunes The Day the Earth Blew Up, which
is in cinemas now, Hello, Eric, I'll.

Speaker 2 (00:14):
Go on there, folks and the perth. You see, finally
you get a real star on the show. Daffy does
absolutely nothing better.

Speaker 1 (00:23):
This is the first fully animated Looney Tunes feature film
to go to cinema, which is amazing.

Speaker 3 (00:30):
First time in ninety years for these characters. This is
my normal voice.

Speaker 4 (00:34):
Yes, which one's that?

Speaker 5 (00:37):
Eric, the craziest one of them all.

Speaker 2 (00:42):
Basically, you know, no NBA basketball players or the use
of AI were used in this movie.

Speaker 3 (00:50):
So you know, it's just a straight up classic kind
of pairing of Porky and Daffy.

Speaker 5 (00:57):
We all know theolvester.

Speaker 2 (01:00):
You know, I'm gonna eat that yellow bird if it's
the last thing I do.

Speaker 5 (01:03):
And he said, I tid a top body, tad.

Speaker 2 (01:07):
And we know, uh lely lely quiet I'm.

Speaker 4 (01:12):
Doing in primary school? Were you just crazy at school?

Speaker 5 (01:16):
This is it?

Speaker 3 (01:17):
You know, I was the class I assume that we
are all the class clowns here, Yeah, basically doing these voices.
But yeah, Porky and Daffy they were also a very
famous pairing in the Looney Tunes kind of universe. Uh where,
anytime I would start watching a Porky and Daffy short,
I would always say, Oh, poor Porky, how is Daffy

(01:38):
going to ruin his life today? And that's kind of
like what this movie is.

Speaker 1 (01:43):
I was gonna ask you being Daffy Duck and Poky
because I'm gonna ask if it's hard to go from
one to the other, but you're pretty much just chanced that.

Speaker 5 (01:48):
No, it's not. In this instance.

Speaker 2 (01:51):
It's kind of easy when you're kind of just dealing with,
you know, short conversations, but in.

Speaker 3 (01:59):
A movie you kind of have to really get a
grasp of the scene.

Speaker 5 (02:03):
Yeah, the situation.

Speaker 3 (02:05):
You know, you want to take your time with it,
and you want to make sure you stick the landing
because you know, today's audience they looked, they look for
those loose threads.

Speaker 4 (02:14):
Yes, Porky Pig ninetieth anniversary, you're looking damn good and
sounding fine. Porky for ninety it's incredible.

Speaker 5 (02:20):
Well, my secret is is I don't wear pants.

Speaker 4 (02:25):
It's young, young, and fresh.

Speaker 1 (02:27):
Your resume is very impressive. I mean you've already done
a few. But there's also mob in the Martian.

Speaker 5 (02:33):
Oh yes, it's a bad lovely Earth creature. I do
enjoy your show, but it blocks my view of Venus.
I love movin. Thank you?

Speaker 4 (02:43):
What are you waiting for for?

Speaker 2 (02:44):
That?

Speaker 1 (02:44):
That was a personal trait, that one. How does one
become a voice actor? Eric?

Speaker 3 (02:50):
Well, you know, it all happened by accident with me.
I was actually working in animation as a character layout artist.
I used to be an artist before before I became
a voice of artist.

Speaker 5 (03:02):
But again, I just can't keep my big mouth shut.

Speaker 3 (03:06):
So people started noticing the voices and impressions I was doing,
and they would be like, why don't we throw Eric
in the booth and see how he does? And you know,
I broke all my pencils. Ever since, I never turned back.

Speaker 4 (03:19):
Some of the cartoon fans that they Pikia because we
know the sci fi fans you have to get it
right if you're doing that.

Speaker 3 (03:25):
Absolutely with Looney Tunes fans, you know, we all know
the great mel Blank was the original actor behind these characters.
And I always tell people if it weren't for mel blank,
I would be delivering your pizza for dinner today.

Speaker 4 (03:39):
With the chief with a gratuity.

Speaker 1 (03:42):
Were you were your parents on board with your Korea pump?

Speaker 5 (03:44):
Oh?

Speaker 3 (03:45):
I was gonna say, my parents, you know, thought I
was possessed and then they would call the priest the
holy water.

Speaker 5 (03:51):
But you know now that I'm helping them pay the mortgage,
it's all fine.

Speaker 4 (03:54):
Oh yeah, of course that'sal. But we met about being
the class clan. But did you have actually really get
into trouble for doing voice?

Speaker 5 (04:04):
I was, you know, quite the opposite.

Speaker 3 (04:06):
Maybe maybe that's the difference between the schools everywhere else,
but in Canada they applaud people with funny voices that
live in their heads. You know, I grew up in
the same town as Mike Myers and Jim Carrey. That
was kind of the backdrop of my youth, and rather
than scold me or prevent me from doing voices, they

(04:29):
would actually say, Okay, look, if you get your work
done tomorrow in the morning, you could head to the
main office and read the morning announcements as whatever characters
you want.

Speaker 5 (04:41):
Sometimes I would read it as bugs, other times Homer
Simpson serving oh, Homer, don't go to.

Speaker 1 (04:48):
The cafeteria they have hot dogs, which is there has
there never been one that you just couldn't get you
your mouth around, you.

Speaker 5 (04:57):
Know, Batman? Maybe because I just don't I wouldn't look good.
And the Batman costume, I don't know, haven't. I haven't
met the height requirement.

Speaker 1 (05:09):
There's the mental block there stopping her.

Speaker 4 (05:11):
Look at you can work in situation.

Speaker 5 (05:15):
You know. It's funny.

Speaker 1 (05:16):
We were going to talk to you last week, Eric,
and you'd lost your voice, which is a fairly routine
event in anyone else's life, but for you, system shutdown.

Speaker 2 (05:26):
I know, I say, as bugs Bunny, oh Brether, there
goes me bread and butter. That only ever happens, like
like clockwork, once a year, and that's after Diego Comic Con.

Speaker 3 (05:42):
But talking, So, when we were doing this press tour,
it was on the eve. I also happened to host
the Emmy Awards that same weekend that the movie came out,
and it just all kind of came to a halt,
and I think my body was saying, Okay, dude, time
to say that's all for hell, folks. You know, a

(06:03):
good day, one day of vocal rest, will we will
work wonders on your vocal cord.

Speaker 4 (06:09):
That's what only us from bands assigned to us day.
It's about talking to pickle after gigs. Just go home,
got a bit early. It's not about the necessarily drinking
or whatever.

Speaker 3 (06:17):
It's you know, when you're you're in a crowded room,
it's already you know, you're talking over each other.

Speaker 5 (06:22):
Then they start playing the loud music. Sound like fog.
I say, fog horn leg hole, I think on that.
That's all, folks, that's our cuture. Wrap it up. You
have to go. You're a very busy man.

Speaker 1 (06:36):
Eric, Thank you so much for joining us.

Speaker 5 (06:38):
Eric, you and yes, that is all, folks.

Speaker 4 (06:44):
Thanks Eric, got put your insurance on these beautiful chords. Mate.

Speaker 5 (06:48):
I shall thank you guys. Thank you
