Speaker 1 (00:01):
And Amanda gem Nation down to.

Speaker 2 (00:03):
The jonesy demand of arms to the pub test, I
don't quite understand relaxing to too true crime. It's not you,
but it is a lot of people. Apparently this is
the true crime content is the most popular category in
all devices and forty five percent of Australians are devoted
to the genre, and a lot of them are women.
A lot of women are watching, listening reading about true

(00:26):
crime just before they go to bed. A psychologist here
has said, have a think about why trauma is relaxing you.
What does it say about you? Because it can make
you frightened in your own home, weary of other people,
get your heart rate racing, all those things. Other people
say that you know, it's like living vicariously through others,
that that's the worst that can happen, and it's not

(00:47):
happening to you. And maybe that's the thrill of it.
So how do you feel true crime as entertainment? Does
it pass the pub testy?

Speaker 3 (00:54):
Absolutely double. It's not about the crime, it's about the
science behind catching the perpetrate and the cops and everyone
that investigates it. That's the most interesting bit the crime. Unfortunately,
just the side effect, So no, true crime definitely passes
the pup ten As a podcast.

Speaker 4 (01:11):
They're interesting, but it's the true crime bit that I
sort of bork at and go, I don't think it does.
I'm against it because I don't think it's as true
as we like to think it is.

Speaker 5 (01:20):
Of course I do. There's nothing better than reading about
as straight and true crime and trying to get into
the head of the person that's done this crime. I've
been enjoying it for probably thirty forty years.

Speaker 4 (01:30):
As a teacher, I try and connect with as many
students as I can in whatever way it takes to
make sure.

Speaker 5 (01:35):
I can educate them. And the young lady in particular
was very interested in through crime, and it was the
connection I was able to make for her.

Speaker 4 (01:43):
To have a successful year eleven as well.

Speaker 1 (01:45):
I'm actually against it because I've personally been touched by
murder and I find it a sort of sickening attachment
that society has now to get entertainment out of murders
and bedone it because when you're on the other side
and you're exposed to it, it's actually a very traumatic experience.

Speaker 4 (02:05):
So I don't think it past the post test at all.

Speaker 2 (02:08):
I can see that absolutely. What about true fashion crimes, Well,
you've been on the receiving end of some of that
criticism yourself. How does it feel
