Speaker 1 (00:01):
You're listening to the Robin and Kit podcast.

Speaker 2 (00:06):
I'm curious to what you think about this. So Simon Baker,
who lived for many many years in the States, had
three kids, and then has returned to Australia and we
recently saw him. He was in The Mentalist, which was
I went for a number like eight or nine seasons,
and then he came back and started as Robert Bell,
the father of Eli Bell in Boyce Swallows Universe.

Speaker 3 (00:25):
And he's sort of like normally he's a very handsome man,
but in that he was like a drunk when he
was fat, but he was brilliant.

Speaker 2 (00:31):
He was one of the best performances by far. He's
an amazing actor. But he's back in Sydney and apparently,
according to Daily Mail, he's rekindled his romance with his
Sydney model girlfriend, whose name is Bridget Clark. Now why
this is intriguing is Bridget is thirty years old. Simon
is fifty five year old. Okay, we have this twenty

(00:51):
five year age grap that happens a lot. We're not
necessarily talking about that, Yeah, But what is intriguing is
that Simon's eldest daughter, Della, is a year older than
his girlfriend.

Speaker 3 (01:03):
H Yeah, see I was okay. I was okay with
the twenty five year gap, but the thirty but having
having a daughter that's older doesn't That doesn't feel right,
does it.

Speaker 2 (01:14):
I saw my boys last night and I found this
story last night, and I was talking to Finnanu and
my two eldest who are twenty four and twenty two,
Lou who's quite fasty when.

Speaker 4 (01:24):
If you ever do something like that, yes, I will
never speak to you again. Yeah, what am I supposed
to do? Talk football with it?

Speaker 1 (01:36):
Well, I mean it would be kind of cool from
that regard. Imagine if you boys could just hang out.

Speaker 4 (01:40):
Okay, my kids thinking about me having sex with anyone,
let alone someone their own age is just wrong.

Speaker 3 (01:47):
If you had a new boyfriend and all of your
sons were just hoping you'd take them out for dinner
so they didn't have to pay, that's not ideal. You
don't want that.

Speaker 2 (01:55):
But again, thirteen one oh six five? Is it ever
okay to date someone your kid's aid? But here's the
rub Kip white Man. Yeah, yes, what was the age
difference between you and your lovely ex wife? Empa?

Speaker 3 (02:08):
We were seventeen years so yes, so I did work
out once and I never spoke of it. That she
was born the year that I left high school. So
I finished high school.

Speaker 2 (02:21):
Yeah, well I had an O pair, a wonderful O
pair because I had to, you know, with doing breakfast radio.
And she got super excited when you announced your engagement
because she said Robert Robin Gino Kip said.

Speaker 4 (02:31):
Yeah, she goes. He's just got engaged to someone I
went to school with.

Speaker 1 (02:38):
And surprise, surprise, it didn't work out.

Speaker 4 (02:42):
So yes, let me post the question to you.

Speaker 2 (02:44):
Yeah, is it ever okay to date someone your kids age?

Speaker 1 (02:49):
Yes, well, yeah, that would have mean I would have
had to have been wild at high school and had
that so then but it'd still bed. And can I
say my lovely partner now, Naomi, she's ten years my junior, and.

Speaker 3 (03:04):
That's fine and we have a great everything's good. See
that's about ten years is a better gap, I'll say that.

Speaker 4 (03:12):
Okay, I mean it, did you notice the age gap?

Speaker 3 (03:16):
Hardly?

Speaker 1 (03:16):
Ever?

Speaker 3 (03:17):
More like, seriously, I reckon, maybe we went to Vietnam
and you know, people there sort of the staff at
restaurants and stuff for a little bit less PC, and
so they'd go so and what will your daughter have?

Speaker 4 (03:33):
And you'd start talking about nineties rap and she'd go, yeah,
I wasn't.

Speaker 1 (03:38):
She loved nineties rap. This is the thing we didn't have.
There was no and we both like Simpsons. There was
no cultural weirdness.

Speaker 4 (03:44):
Simpsons yeah, oh my good.

Speaker 1 (03:46):
We both watched it after school because we went for
twenty five years, so it was fine. It's robinin on
