So the news this morning, which we had actually breaking
on the way in because Cash our producer producer, actually
drove past a huge fire in what appeared to be
the warehouses there on the corner of cav Road and
Old Cleveland Road.

Speaker 2 (00:13):
I love it, the cassa before the fieries arrived. Yes, yeah,
like a she drove past in a fire truck came
in the other direction and apparently there's been like four
or five hat too, was such a big blaze.

Speaker 1 (00:22):
And I remembered straight away that's right next to my
favorite cafe, the Little Jano Cafe, which is it's kind
of like one of the warehouses there. It's a great
little spot opposite the train station. So Carly from the
cafe from Little Jedo's on the phone right now. Morning,

Speaker 2 (00:39):
Like, good mate, Now are you okay? Is your cafe?

Speaker 3 (00:46):
Ok We're fine. It's actually in Cambridge Street, which is
the next street down from us.

Speaker 1 (00:52):
Okay.

Speaker 3 (00:52):
It's a local smash repair business, and so.

Speaker 1 (00:55):
I heard there was there might have been a couple
of workers in there at the time, but.

Speaker 3 (00:59):
It's a confirmed but apparently they're both fine. That's true.
But yeah, it started about ten to five. One of
my drivers is coming to work and I get here
about three and he was saying, oh, it's foggy down
the road and I came out, so I'm like, no,
you're delusional, there's no fog. And then we came out
to the back of our building and you've been here before.

Kipping out the back, we could see the flames shooting
up on it was huge.

Speaker 1 (01:27):
Yeah, and so the far Is apparently got it under control.
So yeah, so not affected. You guys are final, We've.

Speaker 3 (01:34):
Been Yeah, we're fine. We've all been. All the businesses
in Clarence Street and surrounding have been told to evacuate.
So I'm hiding in the back.

Speaker 1 (01:42):
Of course you are.

Speaker 3 (01:47):
It's like the Titanic, the last person. So yeah, I've
just had to send all my staff home.

Speaker 1 (01:55):
Okay, So we're not sure.

Speaker 3 (01:57):
And the police aren't sure how long will be before
they'll be able to open up the businesses.

Speaker 1 (02:02):
Okay, I'm made.

Speaker 2 (02:04):
So have you done any baking and stuff this morning?

Speaker 3 (02:06):
Done all my baking? I wish, look, I wish, you know,
like I feel sorry for them, But yeah, we've done everything.
We've got all our food ready to go, ready to go,
put the little kiosk next to the smash repair. It's gone,
so wow, okay, so for them, you know, my problems
are nothing oldest gun give food away today, so oh mad,

Feel like I want to be able to help you.
I mean, I guess you could feed the fieries.

Speaker 1 (02:34):
You got any cream buns, you can smash the.

Speaker 3 (02:36):
Cream barnes, I can make any pea you can.

Speaker 1 (02:41):
Well, I'm glad everyone there is okay, very sorry to
hear about the snack and the snack by that. So
that's been destroyed by the sound of things, has it?

Speaker 3 (02:48):
Yeah, that's been destroyed. I think as the fires went up,
we saw the police the Fieries going into the snack bar.
I'm not sure about any other businesses, but.

Speaker 1 (03:00):
This has come this has come through from from the
from the ambos this morning fully engulfed two patients being
checked over for minor injuries, one with an arm injury,
one with burns. But everyone else, all other people accounted for.
So that's yeah, yeah.

Speaker 3 (03:13):
And I think that was just a little bit worried
about the toxic smoke. So hence while we all got
us to evacuate.

Speaker 2 (03:19):
Yeah, ok fair call, well, your staff have got a
day off, You've got muffins to go.

Speaker 3 (03:24):
Oh no, now I've got to go and figure out
so yeah. But anyhow, it's a shame that great little
business came Bash Repairs. Yeah, and a little key off there.
You know. They do an amazing by me, So sorry
for all of.

Speaker 1 (03:38):
Them, and keep us posted today. If you do come
up with a plan, Kyler to try and sell some
of your wares, let's not I.

Speaker 3 (03:46):
Might knock on your door and just drop them in.

Speaker 2 (03:49):
We'll always take free food with that kind of desperate, you.

Speaker 1 (03:52):
Know, Kylie. Kylie is actually the person that put me
onto oat milk. Robin. Yeah, about six years ago. I
went in and I can I get a flat white
on soy milk? And Kylie said to me, have you
tried oat milk? And I said I haven't. She said,
I'm going to make you one. If you don't like it,
I'll just make you a soy one. Wow, and I'll
never look back, Kylie.

Speaker 3 (04:10):
No, that good good to hear, Kip. And then how'd
you go with the chicken burger that we made.

Speaker 1 (04:14):
You that day? That was a fantastic remembers everything I
was doing. A chicken we're doing a chicken burger off
and we had to include it. It was delicious. Oh
my goodness, it was good.
