Give this you're listening to Fox Sports Radio. Hello, Welcome in.
Speaker 1 (00:32):
Side our three, The Jason Smith Show with my best
friend Mike Harmon Live the Tirack dot Com Studios Tirac
dot com. I hope you get there an unmatched selection, fast,
free shipping, free road hazard protection, and over ten thousand
recommended installers. Tirac dot com is the way tire buying
should be. Well, I want all of you to say
(00:54):
thank you to me because I have gotten you free
dinner next week. Ask me how out rather starve?
Speaker 3 (01:02):
No?
Speaker 1 (01:03):
Wow, well, okay, that's true. He is gone whoever's working
for you? Then you're going okay, no for Frostbury. Okay,
then all right, well monsie, congratulate, You're gonna eat all
the food.
Speaker 4 (01:12):
Then Harmon, how are you getting this?
Speaker 1 (01:15):
Harmon says to me at halftime, he says, halftime of
the Saint John's game. He says, Okay, i'll bet this,
tell me what you think, and if I win, I'll
buy dinner for everybody one day next week. I said, okay,
what he goes Saint John's. Well, Saint John's minus ten
second half? Yeah, I already bet it. But John's was
a minus ten just in the second half. Yeah, minus ten.
(01:37):
I said, go way over, go way over. Saint John's
is gonna boat race them in the second half. Yes,
that was That's obvious, but it doesn't matter. It was
offered out there, Harmon. Harmon betted and asking me too.
He was only being nice. He was only being nice, right,
I did start alternate lines, so Armin bets it at
(02:01):
minus ten for the second half, and with a minute
thirty to go, Saint John's leads Omaha eighty one to
fifty three. So everybody that's eating free dinner next week.
Speaker 5 (02:11):
The fact that that is pretty out there, yeah, I'll
tell you know what, it might be the easiest money
you've ever made.
Speaker 6 (02:17):
Well, because the game line was hovering at eighteen and
a half or nineteen and a half for the full
game before tip off, and then obviously a little bit
of a struggle in the first half, so minus ten
seemed a bit soft, but hey, opportunity not.
Speaker 1 (02:37):
I think it's an overall a lack of belief in
Saint John's, which doesn't really make any sense because this
is a team that won the Big East Big East
Player of the Year, one of the best tournament coach
out there. Their defense is of one of the top
three defenses with metrics in college basketball. They have strong guards,
like they have everything you want. Yet still an hour
or two seed and yeah, oh yeah, Saint John's, Yeah
I do or not Okay, okay, Saint John's winning the
(02:59):
national title to be fair, I mean waiting the title.
And this is where we've had that.
Speaker 6 (03:03):
Disparity and we're trying to figure out and reconcile this
right is from a media perspective, and part of it
might just be the history and everybody remembering what Saint
John's was, something we talked about a little bit last hour,
and the history, the pageantry of what that team and
school was as a powerhouse all those years ago. And
then there's been a love affair with Rick Patino again
(03:25):
going on the last what six to eight weeks. From
immediate perspective, it became a bigger and bigger uh cacophony
of voices. Meanwhile, on the betting side of things, they
were still twenty five to one to win it all
when things tipped off today.
Speaker 1 (03:40):
Okay, my red storm, my red storm. Hey, let's get
a highlight from this game. Right the clock is taken. Okay,
it's gonna highlight from Saint John's and Omaha, come on,
t goa highlight.
Speaker 6 (03:54):
I really thought I was gonna hear Roki sasak and
a strikeout or something or home running game thirteen forty
three to go big down about the two hands slamer, Oh,
we actually got it.
Speaker 1 (04:11):
I thought he was gonna get up Bronie highlight. I
thought you were to get Rodney Pete catching that foul
ball and getting money or Otani's home run or Sasaki. Okay,
I really thought we're gonna get Bronny.
Speaker 4 (04:35):
Just a standing o.
Speaker 1 (04:37):
Uh, Lakers TV on the call, just to let you
know what's happening now. Bronnie James with his next bucket
would be the Lakers leading scorer tonight. How about that
he's got eight points? Right? Uh, Hayes has nine to
lead the Lakers. The next bucket for Bronnie James and
he leaves. If he leaves the Lakers and score like,
what's like? I don't know that this would be the
(04:59):
biggest upset of the first day of the end of
the nca What's the biggest upset on Thursday? Bronnie James
led the Lakers in scoring.
Speaker 6 (05:06):
You know what we failed to do though figure out
what the second half line was for his point.
Speaker 1 (05:13):
But really a bad job by me. The biggest upset
of Thursday, a day one of the nca tour, is
Bronni James could lead the Lakers and scoring. I love it.
Coming into tip off, you had no idea who the
hell was even playing. No, no, no, you no.
Speaker 6 (05:27):
Every once in a while they show the murderer's row
of guys sitting in the street close over there, as
the Bucks have an eleven point lead here midway through
the third.
Speaker 1 (05:38):
Now, meanwhile in the NCAA tournament, Rick Patino is now smiling,
maybe because he feels like he has to.
Speaker 2 (05:43):
Uh.
Speaker 1 (05:43):
It is a thirty point burial for Saint John's over Omaha,
who scored the first seven points of the game and
had me a little nervous. Yeah, But Saint John's goes
on to the second round of the tournament Michigan, and
you see San Diego things getting a little nervous for
the Wolfs. They really want to get Bryce Underwood in
this game. Sixty three sixty with three and a half
(06:06):
to go, Michigan with the lead over UC San Diego.
And how about this, boy, I'm glad I didn't bet
Texas Tech. I told you I would have taken Texas
Tech for the final four if they weren't in Saint
John's bracket. Well, glad I didn't North Carolina Wilmington. Now
it's still a lot of time left to go. Fifteen
minutes in the second half. UNC Wilmington leads Texas Tech
forty six forty five. The upsets could be coming right here.
Speaker 6 (06:29):
Mike Carmen insanity six turnovers, but shooting just thirty four
percent from the field are the Red Raiders? Conversely, you're
looking at it up about forty four percent clip for
UNC and six of seventeen from the three point arc. Listen,
fourteen assists on seventeen makes for UNC.
Speaker 1 (06:49):
What do you got, Frostburg? What time this Syracuse? Please?
Speaker 5 (06:53):
But with that big Saint John's win. You know what
that means for Friday, you guys, I mean Saturday. You
know what that means, right, it means what bottle ofren
we're getting Paterno, right, we're getting a what wait what Wait.
Speaker 1 (07:07):
A minute, that's a whole other thing. That would be
a story. Yeah no, we're yeah, yeah, no, Patino get
but you would make Petrino no he quit, but you
would have to. It would have to be one name.
It would be like Pitt, Pitt, Pitt, Pari, Pari, Pitt
or Cala. Calatino is what you would call it. It's Calatino.
(07:28):
On Saturday, we get Calatino. Yeah, who's gonna wear a
nicer suit on? The dress off?
Speaker 6 (07:38):
I mean, the the pregame walk into the arena, I mean,
think about that, getting off the bus. We're gonna have
to have all sorts of cameras there. But that would
absolutely be Calatino. That what we call it has like Brandolina,
it will be Calatino. Oh that's exciting, man, that's exciting.
Next level, that's exciting.
Speaker 5 (07:54):
Uh.
Speaker 1 (07:55):
Now, speaking of upsets, I wasn't contrived at all by
the commit The only upset we have seen today the
biggest one was mcneise. I don't even back by way
back when they were McNeese State. McNeese with the upset
over Clemson again. They let a halftime by twenty Clemson
scored thirteen points in the first half and McNeese holds
(08:15):
on to win it by a bucket sixty nine sixty seven.
They pull the big twelve five upset, which we see
every tournament. You know that by now. But the big
controversy for today and then, and this is on a
day we have one upset. This is what it's about.
Will Wade, the head coach of McNeese State, as we know,
is leaving for North Carolina State. This story broke the
night before the NCAA tournament. That's a pretty odd time
(08:38):
for a story like that to break. You would think
that maybe you'd hold on to it for a little while.
You don't usually see stuff like that happen. But it
was announced Will Wade taking the gig at North Carolina State.
Now he's come to mcneise He's done great things. He's
got them the tournament two years in a row, and
North Carolina State clearly is a big step up. This
is kind of how it works. And I'm watching Charles
Barkley and other people talk about this before the game today,
(09:00):
and it was I can't believe this. How do you
not keep this a secret? How is this something that
doesn't stay quiet until after today and or until after
they lose and they're knocked out of the term. I
don't understand. This is awful for the players, it's awful
for the school, it's awful for everybody. And I look
at this and I go, you know, there's some people
like when I watch the TNT crew on this, I
(09:21):
just shake my head because I can't pay attention because
they don't know anything about college basketball. They don't follow
the game. They barely prep enough to do NBA stuff
at night. They just rely they rely on their personalities
to be as entertaining as they are, right, and they're
great entertaining personalities, But college basketball they know nothing. They
know absolutely nothing, and they don't not only that, they
don't seem to try to try to know the game more. Right.
(09:42):
So I watch this and I go, this is a
take from twenty years ago. This is a twenty year
ago take where the coaches and the schools held all
the power and they could do whatever they wanted and
the players were powerless. That's not the case now. The
players are savvy. The players know the business. They play
the game just as well as the coaches and the
(10:02):
schools do. Right with the nil era and the transfer era. Yeah,
they know the business really well. They get that it's
a business more than they ever have. You can't be
as kids. Kids know right, Kids know when you're lying
and then know when you're saying something. Could you have
kept it quiet? Yeah? But Will Wade today, we wanted
to be honest with everybody. I was honest with them
the entire time. And the kids know, Okay, McNee State
(10:23):
it's a stepping school. He is a stepping school to
go someplace else, and they get it. And I'm sure
he's gonna take some of his players with him.
Speaker 6 (10:30):
He said it in the postcam. I'm gonna take as
money as.
Speaker 1 (10:33):
Copland's gonna go. I gotta watch the lead from Syracuse
to McNee State. Now he's gonna come back to the
ACC when he should be playing point guard for Syracuse.
But he's above board. Everything is honest, and clearly it
had zero effect on them today seeing as how A
twelve seed is moving on to the second round of
the tournament, like it's a different time now, and understand
that that this is what college sports is now. You
(10:56):
want to say, oh, it's a business, and I think
we say that sometimes and you just go by people,
but we think about it's a business from the school's perspective. Oh,
it's just a business for these guys that all care
about his money and all this. But it's now a
business from the kid's perspective and from the kid's side,
on the player's side, they're all making money. They're in commercials,
nil is making them all kinds of cash they can
(11:16):
transfer when they need to. They have the hammer and
a lot of negotiations. They get it, and you know what,
if you're honest with people, people are going to respect
that more. Yeah, did it seem like it's embarrassing that
I got out? Sort of, But really you saw the
way they reacted to it. It's really not. This is
the most overrated controversy from day one of the tournament.
Will Wade saying he's leaving okay doesn't bother them. Clearly
(11:39):
had no effect on the court, and it's more of
an adult way of this is how college basketball is
in college sports in general is in twenty twenty five.
I mean, you go back.
Speaker 6 (11:48):
You have the wiretab phone call from him a couple
of years ago. He's building his way back up. And
the guy can flat out coach that we know, and
he's brutally honest about the process. And we talk about
it all the time now with players and how transient
the whole process is and year to year guys wearing
(12:09):
different uniforms. Some of these guys seem like they've been
around for forty years. Why because every year we're talking
about them in a new space, And for coaches it's
always been that way. Whispers about the next job to come. Here,
he's just saying it flat out all right, you're hearing
the whispers here, I go. Yeah, we've had those conversations.
You have that Maryland too, right, the power struggle between
(12:31):
the coach and the athletic director and everything else that's
being played out in public as well. So this is
not isolated. This is not new. And in the transference
of all this information that flows through the number of
insiders people around the program, and the whispers in the
hallway get pretty loud. And when you have a couple
(12:53):
of big jobs out there, and look what's going on
this week Collins at Northwestern and several others where it's
the are they staying or are they going? And people
just you know, licking their fingers and holding it up,
trying to see which way the wind's blowing, which other
jobs are going to become open?
Speaker 1 (13:09):
And will my guide decide that there's greener pastures to
go traverse?
Speaker 6 (13:14):
And I think for Will Wade, you know, in his
postgame presser, I mean he was very honest because up
talk with the squad and I told him everybody's goal
was to play at a high level Division one and
uh yeah, I'm gonna take some guys with me. What's
wrong with it? I don't I don't get it right.
I mean all the posturing, even that panel did that
(13:36):
you reference of well, I you know, I could go
somewhere else, But I mean, think of all the people,
Think of the children, Think of all the people that
you know would lose their jobs if something happened with
us here, like oh of that is like which is more.
Speaker 1 (13:50):
Disingenuous that nonsense?
Speaker 6 (13:53):
Or Will Wade like I'll take this any day of
the week, and twice on Sunday of Hey, let's be
honest about it. We're all looking for quote, the better job,
the newer job, better opportunity, and he's taking it overrated.
This controversy is overrated, and people who see this are
stuck twenty twenty five years ago.
Speaker 1 (14:11):
You're stuck way in the past. Get with now, drop
the zero and get with the hero. Get with twenty
twenty five aictally done. You like that? That was pretty good.
Speaker 6 (14:19):
But yeah, it's not that the shadow man in the
background anymore. It's all there and played sight.

Texas Tech trying to hold on against fourteenth seed North
(17:31):
Carolina Wilmington is a sixty to fifty seven game with
eight minutes left to go in the second half. But
what have we seen today? What do we like? What
did we not like? Joining us now on the hot line.
We talked to him so much during the college football
season because college Footballnews dot Com is your one stop
(17:52):
shopping for everything college football. It is also your one
stop shopping for everything college basketball during the NCAA Tournament,
all the previews, all the prognostications. It is long time
front of the show. Pete Futech with us right now. Pete,
did I read this right? Did you predict a game
absolutely correct with the final score today?
Speaker 3 (18:14):
No? I was one point off. I need telling you.
I'll try to do better. I actually the weirdest try
to do better. I had Kanda. I did get the
final score right until like the last shot on Kansas, Arkansas.
But here's a you know what, I know, it's just
this time of year, and I did you guys? Have
you exhaled it by the way after you see San Diego.
(18:35):
It's that three.
Speaker 1 (18:36):
You guys are right, pretty crazy, right. I got to
check in with my wife, but I need to give
her ten minutes. She always says ten minutes after a game,
then you can call me. I said, okay, great, hey,
lad hit the free throws, never in doubt it, don't.
Speaker 3 (18:48):
You remember like the Fab five when they were freshmen,
didn't it who's their first round opponent? They needed some
like a weaver put back or something against like Central
Directional State or something like that, you know, and then
they wanted to play for the national championship. So you know,
these things sort of happen. It is the surviving advanced thing.
But look, it's college football. Everyone wants to you know,
(19:10):
rail on college football playoffs and oh Indiana shouldn't have
been there, and look at all the blowouts. This was
an awful day up until that Michigan game. Pretty much,
I mean, Arkansak Kansas is pretty good, but in a
transfer portal era, it just it takes something really weird
for one of these teams to be you know, and
even then you're talking about usually, I mean, tonight was
(19:32):
a different animal. You know, I think Michigan wins the
Big Ten championship. But when you get a McNeese winning
or you know something, you know, Drake winning, you know
they're beating like the ninth rank team, the ninth team
at a conference or something. So the talent disparody is
crazy and all sorts of shake out over next weekend.
Speaker 2 (19:48):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (19:48):
No, I'm just excited out because we have We're calling
it hashtag Calatino for Saturday because with Caliperry, Patino, hashtag Calatino,
Saint John's and Arkansas, We're excited. We're gonna make T shirts.
Do you want one?
Speaker 3 (19:59):
I sure, why not because but it's not it's not
what tittapari or anything, right, you can't. It's Patino's the guy.
Speaker 7 (20:07):
Right.
Speaker 3 (20:09):
If we're if we're really doing this, I mean, Calin
Parry was always as we're mixing all these things here,
he was always kind of the second banana behind Patino, right,
I mean it was you know, Cayl Parry was great,
the Hall of Famer, he won national championships and all that.
But Patino's the guy here, right.
Speaker 1 (20:27):
Of course he is. The college basketball season has been
about Cooper Flag and Rick Patino and Saint John's and like,
those have been the two biggest stories.
Speaker 3 (20:35):
And it's weird because Saint John's can't shoot. They it's
like the weirdest team. They score like eighty eight points
per game, but they they they hit like literally, I
think they're like three interred stiffious in the nation and
shooting they just they just can't. They don't do anything
of three. They just sort of play defense and get
(20:56):
credit on the scoreboard for that. It's it's like the
weirdest team. But all right, these two are the same.
I always I've never been one of those people who
gets all squishy about the coach being on the sidelines
because oh, you know, there's that coach on the sideline.
So okay, what am I supposed to do with this?
All right? You know it's yes, I guess it's a
big thing. But all means is that we're old and
(21:16):
that we're never going to be, you know, second to
be nineteen ninety six again ever. So I mean, I
guess it's fun.
Speaker 6 (21:22):
Well, I guess the last guys standing right when we
look at cal and Patino will add wade into that.
All guys that have you know, extra paragraphs for non
coaching reasons on their Wikipedia pages, but they ended up
dominating the headlines today. And that kid named Amir Khan,
who's richer and evidently wiser than all of us.
Speaker 3 (21:44):
Yeah, oh, you want to do a fun bar trick.
First of all, ask if Baylor, one of the bar
if Baylor has ever won a national championship. And if
someone says, yes, who was the coach? And name like
a player off that, do you like? It's such a
you know, the tournament is so much bigger than any
team or any you know, or any player at this
(22:04):
point other than like a Cooper flag. Nobody can name
anybody who's on New Con last year. I mean, it
just it's it's about the tournament. It's about the event.
This is the regular season. That so when you get
two guys like this who are real just you know, superstars,
big names, and we don't they don't have that anymore
in college basketball. You're still doing football to a certain extent. Yeah,
(22:26):
it's kind of an interesting.
Speaker 7 (22:27):
Big thing.
Speaker 3 (22:27):
But the other part about this thing too, that was
kind of crazy. All right. Everyone wanted to see Patina
versus Calipari, Bill self like a Hall of Famer too,
Like Bill self versus Patino would have been a an
epic college basketball coaching matchup. But now if everyoneted to
see Cali.
Speaker 6 (22:41):
Pari didn't go down that rabbit hole today they finally
Bill self didn't get me this time.
Speaker 3 (22:49):
Yeah, exactly nice. But there's so many ways to go there.
Speaker 1 (22:52):
But I got you, asked me, asked me name one
player who played for Baylor. I got you. Go ahead,
go and ask me.
Speaker 3 (22:57):
I can't go name as a Drew. Is there a
bright Is there a Drew in there somewhere.
Speaker 1 (23:04):
Robert Rip.
Speaker 3 (23:06):
Yeah, yeah, absolutely, absolutely right. That's a bad rap. That's
a Baylor Sports is a bad rabbit hole to go
down if we want to keep doing this. But but yeah,
so no, it's fun though, I mean like it's it's
a diversion from the workday and the rest of the world,
and it's fun. And I do think the second round matches,
(23:27):
matches are gonna match what we're gonna be a lot better.
I think we're gonna start seeing some some weirder upsets,
because look, you you show me an upset in the
first round, and you're gonna there's an eighty five forty
two game coming at you in the second round. Somewhere.
I like, I like getting ready, just get rid of
all the little guys. I'm gonna lead us here. This
is all cute and stuff. Look, you know, you see
(23:49):
San Diego is nice. They forget they off the San
Diego State to start the season, and you always thought
the Aztecs did. Let's just get the big teams out there.
Let's go, let's get get this. You know, the big
games happening, and you know we let's have some more
interesting games all right now.
Speaker 1 (24:05):
Before we got went petefutech College Footballnews dot Com covering
the tournament with us here on Fox Sports Radio. Before
we get to the games tomorrow, your upsets? Uh. The
Will Wade controversy has been the story of the day.
Here he was announcing he's going to North Carolina State
before they play their game. People are on both sides
of this. What what do you think of that? Hey,
here he is right before the tournament. I'm leaving McNeice,
(24:26):
I'm going to North Carolina State.
Speaker 3 (24:29):
He's coaching them. Let's start with that. Like, look again,
from the football side of things, it always drives me
crazy is when the coach leaves before the bowl game.
It's like, oh, we're the team, the team, the team up,
I'm gone, you know, like it's that's you want to
keep these guys around, you want to keep them interested,
and that you leave before some of the biggest games
(24:49):
with one of the biggest games of the year. Well yeah,
I get it. Stay around. I mean, if you're going
to do I mean, these guys, the kids know if
he's there, guys leaving And actually all those guys on
those teams teams probably leave. You know, they're probably you know,
if they're they're pretty good, so they're probably gonna transfer
to somewhere better. It's going to pay them money. So
it's fine, you know, this is the world we live
(25:10):
in now. Look, they're all professionals, so everyone.
Speaker 1 (25:13):
Act like think of the children, peat, take of the children.
All right, let's get to the slate tomorrow.
Speaker 6 (25:18):
Where am I finding an upset as I'm looking at
the slate?
Speaker 3 (25:24):
Look, what is the line come out on Saint John's
Arkansas Because they're the same team, I mean, they're Arkansas
shoots a little better though, but they both can't shoot threes.
They both play tough, they both rebound, they both go
after every loose ball, and Saint John's you know, Okay,
this is cute. No, but Big East Sydney the SEC
(25:46):
this year. So that's one of those that could be
right up there in terms of games that tomorrow. But
when it comes on Saturday, I should say that's one
of those games going forward that that should be a
whole lot of fun. But yeah, I'm looking more to
the next round of games, which you're like, I like,
b y, you over Wisconsin on Saturday. That's you.
Speaker 1 (26:05):
You have a you have an irrational hatred for Wisconsin.
Though knowing you as long you haven't irrational hatred for Wisconsin.
Speaker 3 (26:13):
I know them. That's like, that's where I went, So
it's an irrational My problem with Wisconsin is and again
this is I went to school there when they there
was the line today I can't remember who was calling
the game, but just killed me. These aren't you're good?
Is your grandfather's Wisconsin team? Well, when I went to Wisconsin,
they didn't go to an NCAA tournament or a bowl game.
(26:35):
And the entire time I was there, that's my Wisconsin team.
And so this three this shooting threes and stuff, this
is cute. I like this, This is.
Speaker 1 (26:44):
Not your Wisconsin. Just let you know that's done.
Speaker 3 (26:48):
You know you can you can go real deep down
that rabbit hole fast. But yeah, no, it's that's one
of those things where they just they b yu. If
it's hitting hits three and gets all physical and stuff,
they're going to be all right. They should they should
pull this one out.
Speaker 6 (27:02):
One fifty five the over under for that one. Still
trying to find an early line for Saint John's but uh,
not there yet. But curiosity, right as we look at
those big ten squads, the SEC squads, so much pomp
and circumstance coming into things. Uh, Pete Jason predicted by
the end of tomorrow, we only have four SEC teams remaining.
Speaker 3 (27:22):
He's but there are so many of them. They're like,
you know, they just don't stop. So the problem is
this is you there's find you we ofst like four
of them and then there's still like nineteen left, right,
They just there's so many s. But like, seriously, I mean,
Missouri loses Texas. He's the fourteenth team in the you know,
(27:45):
the SEC gets into the tournament kind of but not
really you know, so it's I thought the SEC was
the whole rationale behind putting in a Texas behind putting
it in. Arkansas did its part. But but behind like
all these teams being in that yeah, you're you're they're
supposed to be so much better because they're bad records.
Is because they played in this epic conference that you know,
(28:07):
it's the greatest conference in the history of man next
to Potsdam. And now you know, you're not supposed to
lose these games, and yet they are losing these games,
which which they're just not supposed to do. So I
am I'm kind of hate watching the SEC just because
I'm tired of all the you know, the stuff about them.
So watch watch Saint Mary's tomorrow. Like Vanderbilt should not
(28:28):
be in this tournament, I say this, and they're going
to be in the sweet sixteen. Now, Saint mary scores
two points a game and they should be able to
beat Vanderbilt. And I don't even think of be an upset.
But that's one of those games where if you like
to hate watch the SEC, that's one of those games
that's going to matter. And I think North Carolina gets
a Whole Miss. I know that the a SEC is
taken in the teeth today, but Ole Miss is a
(28:51):
weird team. North Carolina. I think has that you know,
no one believes in this thing going on, which is
probably gonna matter. So I think you're going to see
two of those that's going down. And then Mississippi State.
It's a crazy thing. If the Baylor gets to eighty points,
Mississippi State literally is oh since twenty sixteen games is
the pity points.
Speaker 1 (29:12):
He's on Twitter at Pete few Tech. That is at
Pete few Tech the website college Footballnews dot com. You're
one stop shopping for everything college football.
Speaker 3 (29:21):

Arkansas and Saint John's, purdueing McNeese, got the Saturday games
all ready to go again. Check out College Footballnews dot com.
Pete it's always bunny appreciated. Man, we'll talk tomorrow. Guys, say, man,
there goes Pete few Tech. He's got a dynasty now going.
He's got a dynasty, breaking out expansion, an aggressive expansion.
(29:46):
And I will say this, he does just let the
cat of the bag. He does have Saint John's eking
out a win over John Caliperi. Hashtag Calatino, hashtag calaton Calatino. Calino.
I liked his though. It's almost sounded like pity party. Yeah,
oh yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah yeah, pitty pitty, pitty pity part.
It's because it's Cali Parry, so it's Pitty Parryity Perry,
(30:08):
like Katy Perry, Pitty Parry.
Speaker 6 (30:10):
A lot of folks did ticket sales not so great,
pity problem sales not so great.
Speaker 1 (30:14):
This last time you take a lot of time and
you don't come out with a good album.
Speaker 6 (30:18):
They really did try to push her into a lot
of random venues, international soccer games and all sorts of stuff.
Speaker 1 (30:26):
Here are this Katy Perry, the Fontannas Speedway, Greater upland
uh time singing time Now to find out what's trending
in the wide world of sports. So someone who's been
called the James Harden of Fox Sports Radio. She likes
to walk up and down the halls and yell swag
it's Monty and yell.
Speaker 4 (30:45):
Darryl Moore is a liar.
Speaker 1 (30:49):
I just say it.
Speaker 7 (30:49):
Twice exactly the people, and Casey missed it exactly. One
game is still going on on this first day of
March Madness Men's and c Double A tournament and it's
a close.
Speaker 1 (31:00):
You owe someone money. You can't just say that and raise.
Speaker 4 (31:03):
All the names phrases you want.
Speaker 1 (31:04):
Seven dollars you owe somebody, who's the somebody? Whatever, the
commit I don't know, I got it.
Speaker 4 (31:12):
Seven bucks worth it borthday. I'm gonna keep saying it
out of my tally.
Speaker 7 (31:16):
At the end, h third seed Texas Tech is a
sixty nine to sixty four lead over fourteen seed UNC
Wilmington about four minutes to go in that one, two
seed Saint John's came alive in the second half.
Speaker 4 (31:27):
They won eighty three to fifty three against fifteen.
Speaker 7 (31:30):
Seed Omaha, the Red Storm's first tournament win in twenty
five years. And what everyone wanted is going to happen
because now Saint John's is going to face ten seed Arkansas,
who survived seventy nine to seventy two against seven seed
Kansas as his kids.
Speaker 1 (31:43):
Calatino, cal Calatino, Calentino.
Speaker 4 (31:47):
Did you find that or did you make that up?
Speaker 1 (31:49):
Really good? I take ideas from people.
Speaker 4 (31:50):
Come on, that was good. I'm gonna steal it. That
was kansas first loss of the first.
Speaker 1 (31:55):
That's seven dollars. Seven dollars. You can give me the
father seven. I'll make sure to get it to a
COLLEGI right, it sounds good.
Speaker 4 (32:01):
I like this deal.
Speaker 7 (32:02):
Kansas first loss in the first round since two thousand
and six. We just had Michigan, five seed. Michigan survived
sixty to sixty five against twelve seed you see San
Diego and really survived because you see San Diego had
a chance to tie.
Speaker 4 (32:15):
It missed an open three, kind of an open three.
Speaker 1 (32:18):
But they just survived. They really survived.
Speaker 2 (32:21):
Really, Okay.
Speaker 4 (32:21):
Five do you know what I'm saying.
Speaker 1 (32:22):
That's how it's not just survived.
Speaker 4 (32:24):
I like survive, and then you could.
Speaker 1 (32:26):
Really serve, not survive in advance, it's really advance.
Speaker 8 (32:30):
Okay.
Speaker 7 (32:30):
Yes, I just want you to understand how how how
close it was. A four seed Texas Santum defeated thirteen
Ceedl eighty to seventy one, while eleven seed Drake held
on to beat sixteed.
Speaker 4 (32:40):
Missouri sixty seven to fifty seven.
Speaker 7 (32:42):
The Bulldogs are moving on to the second round for
the first time since nineteen seventy one. In the NBA,
the Warriors just beat the Raptors when SI went seventeen
to one fourteen. But Steph Curry I don't know if
you guys saw this. In the third quarter, took a
really hard fall. It looked like he landed right on
his lower back butt area. He was ruled out for
the rest of the game with a pelvic contusion. It
(33:03):
looked like a nasty fall. That's the latest update. But
they did beat the Raptors after all. The Bulls took
down the Kings and Sacramento one twenty eight to one sixteen.
DeMar DeRozan reached twenty five thousand career points though in
the loss, and one game is.
Speaker 4 (33:16):
Still going on in the NBA.
Speaker 7 (33:17):
The Bucks just all over the Lakers one eleven to
eighty as a score with about four minutes to go
in that one.
Speaker 4 (33:23):
The Celtics are being sold to Bill Chisholm.
Speaker 7 (33:27):
Managing partner at Symphony Technology Group.
Speaker 4 (33:31):
This group is going.
Speaker 7 (33:32):
To buy the Celtics for evaluation of six point one
billion dollars.
Speaker 1 (33:38):
In fifteen years, every pro sports scene is going to
be owned by a forty year old tech dude.
Speaker 2 (33:42):
It is.
Speaker 1 (33:42):
That's all it's going to be. Man, it really is.
And fun managers and tech dudes. Guys that do their
press conference in jeans and a and a Chambray workshirt.
Speaker 6 (33:51):
But I remember when when Balmer bought the Clippers and
everybody's losing their mind.
Speaker 1 (33:56):
We were on air.
Speaker 6 (33:56):
I'm like, oh, yeah, yeah, it's a franchise in Los Ange.
These don't come up. Yeah, a billion makes perfect sense
to me.
Speaker 4 (34:03):
He didn't care how much it was what everybody thought.
Speaker 1 (34:05):
It was insane. Six point one billion.
Speaker 4 (34:07):
Yeah, well for yeah, six point one billion.
Speaker 7 (34:09):
Here in soccer at the conkak Coff Nations League semi final,
Panama defeated the US one mill and Fanatics announced that
the Tokyo series that just happened between the Cubs and
the Dodgers generated forty million dollars worth of merchandise sales
and it's the best selling special event in Fanatics history.
Speaker 1 (34:27):
Yeah, but how about you that were Rotani jerseys thirty
nine point nine million dollars, maybe.
Speaker 7 (34:32):

Fox Sports Radio The Jason Smith Show with My best
friend Mike Harmon Texas Tech. Now the ten point lead
over North Carolina Wilmington, it looks like the Seahawks might
fall just short of pulling a big upset hand the
ball off. They gave it to Marshawn and when they've
got to throw the ball, it got picked off and
taken back the other way. But we are going to
(35:28):
celebrate day one of the Nsay Turner the best way

All right, sir, what's your beef with the Jokers? I'm
just it's no, it's just on all the time. That's
a good contract, Okay, sure it is. Yeah, I guess
what are the worst contract ever? Either way? Oh, I'm
sure they're getting paid in some kind of right. I
don't know.
Speaker 6 (37:07):

Speaker 1 (39:28):
After that last six shames a little bit little bit
smitten with the mitten, smitten with the min I mean
that falls into ty Shirt's territory. Be careful. Treasure hunters
look for long rumored pirates treasure buried on various islands
and shallow waters in the state of Michigan, which is
(39:49):
nicknamed the Mitten. Smitten with the Mitten treasure hunters look
for long rumored Pirates treasure buried on various islands and
shallow waters in the state of Michigan. Smitten with the
Mitten I like it.
Speaker 6 (40:01):
I'm in all right. I would have really gone even
further if it was the Up.
Speaker 1 (40:06):
Okay, well, they could be going to the up. How
about it's all over the state of Michigan, all over.
Speaker 4 (40:10):
I'm gonna say it's not.
Speaker 8 (40:11):
You're saying no for smeeking because I'm not smitten with
the mint. I'm not smitten with the mitten. Kitten what
Smith with the cow? Okay, Wow, that escalated.
Speaker 1 (40:24):
We get We'll get to Manci on catter Day hashtag
catter Day for all the video Sheha posts. All right,
so Rookie Sasaki definitely no on the mitten, all right, Snell? Yeah,
smitten with the mitten. Oh yes, kitten. Smitten with the
Mitten is not even though pirates. There are shows about
(40:48):
people searching for bury treasure in the state of Michigan,
but Smitten with the Mitten is not one of them.
Speaker 6 (40:54):
So this could be an offshoot like the Georgie or
whatever the hell's name is getting married from Sheldon.
Speaker 1 (41:00):
Could be they're not gonna find that Lion. Super Bowl
coming up next. The best story of the day in
the NCAA tournament by far
