listening to Fox Sports Radio. Greetings and welcome in SOD
Happy Thursday, The Jason Smith Show with my big friend
Mike Harmon, Hobo live. There it is. I was waiting
for it, made me wait too long for it. Sometimes
sometimes you make me wait too long for you to
check in. J Wow, Wow, Okay, we're gonna do this.
(00:46):
You know, listen, your job has been subcar four months now. Wow,
here we go. Fireworks Fox Sports Radio. Every time there's
a big night, like it's hey, we have a big
it's a big NFL playoff night. Or sometimes she goes,
oh yeah, dude, I'm off tonight, but you mean you're
off it's a big night. To yeah, I'm off tonight.
(01:07):
This Aaron Rodgers cleans. I'm on j I have to
take big nights off, so Oh that's yeah, well it
does it does? Hey, listen, if you need to force
vomit or have to go to the bathroom, just just go.
You don't need to tell us. Yeah, alright, Theater of
the Mind. If all of a sudden we started hearing
wretching sounds, you think he wasn't gonna start playing that
(01:29):
right away? I mean, come on, well, still a different
kind of version that, Well, yeah, that would be I
wonder if that would make money, if that was a
different kind of purge. You're just watching Aaron Rodgers and
that's that. That's the show. That's the show is Rogers
doing a purge or doing a cleanse for twelve days,
and you edit it down. Obviously it's not like Big
(01:50):
brother ware. Hey, let me check in on but you
hit it down to make it, you know, suitable for
telling me live cameras seven to spouting random stuff as
he's wandering around his house pretending to read the books
that are on his shelf. No, that's true, that's true.
I don't know what Atlas Truck did. It was on
(02:10):
my shelf? Really, why is it? I don't we just
read it together? Shall chapter one? Like you need that?
John Houseman Voice Chapter one. It was the best of times,
it was the worst of times. The New York Mets
had lost five games in a row. I mean, I
think that's how a tail of two cities begin. Would
you like to explain to people who John Houseman was. Uh?
(02:35):

(02:57):
Welcome back to the NBA taking a night three and
a half week break here in the middle of the season,
and we have a bunch of games tonight. We got
Steph Curry showing up looking like he's in the matrix,
and we got James Harden's debut coming up tomorrow night
for the seventies sixers. Uh. And then look, I don't
think people realize how much they missed the NBA until
they don't play games for four nights. Then it's a
(03:18):
wait a minute, where's my Monday? Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday? NBA fix?
I need it. Ben Simmons sat and watched the Nets
get their asses kicked. Yeah? That that that that welcome
back to national television basketball, where when it's only the
third quarter, they had clearly a hundred points. What are
we doing here for the stand back? The Celtics have
(03:44):
been playing fantastic, No, and that's it. I get a
couple of interviews where they're like, what do you think
of the second half? I go nine and one to
close out the first half? Look at the Celtics even great.
The Nets have not got the Nets. The Nets almost
have a worse record than the Knicks. That's how bad
it is, right about that? How are you feeling about that, buddy?
Is that they put out a T shirt or what
you know? And and here's here's the thing about the Nets, right,
(04:06):
is that I'm not going to fall for Oh here
come the Nets? Right because look tonight, clearly they're missing
k D. Who knows when Ben Simmons is going to play.
Kyrie Irving is still not able to play Home games
were waiting. But it's like the Nets keep talking like
something's just gonna happen and they're gonna start winning. Look
(04:27):
at these moves we made, all right, we got rid
of James Harden. We couldn't stand James Harden. We got
rid of James Harden. Now we brought in Ben Simmons.
When's he gonna play? I don't know. When's Kyrie gonna
play every game? I don't know, Okay, but yeah, but
look at what we do. We're just gonna win because
like like people in the media and and fans thing, well,
the Nets are just gonna start winning now because well
because they got Ben Simmons and because Kyrie Irving is
(04:50):
gonna play at some point. Um, let me tell you this.
The Nets have been a blank show since they signed
the three stars, since they put them together a year ago.
The Nets can't get two st ups in front without
falling over. That's who the Nets are. So I'm sorry,
but I'm not just suddenly gonna buy in that, Oh,
because the Nets made the move for Ben Simmons and
Kyrie could be playing every day, that there's suddenly gonna
(05:11):
be great. That Nets have been awful. They have done
nothing but underachieved since they got k D and Kyrie
and now we gotta swap out James Harden for Ben Simmons.
This is how it goes for them. Okay. The Nets
are a team that on paper always looks great, but
there's always something that comes up. There's always an obstacle
that gets in their way, whether it's an injury to
(05:31):
one of the Big three or Kyrie Irving playing or
not playing. Who knows when he's in the lineup, when
he's not in the lineup, something always happens. There's always
an issue. The team environment not great. How is Ben
Simmons gonna fit in after all the issues he had
in Philadelphia having to answer to Joel Ebad, now he's
got to answer to Kevin Durant. Good luck with that.
I don't think that's gonna go when he swith than
(05:52):
you think with them. Beat and Beat was like the
junior varsity compared to what it's gonna be like for
k D. There's always something right. It's great that Kyrie
can play, it's great they got Ben Simmons, but they
have had implosion after implosion for the last year. So yeah,
I'm gonna wait before I think, Oh, here come the
Nets and they're gonna win the title. They couldn't do
with the Big three they brought in. They had to
cut bait on it. This was a how are they
(06:14):
gonna there? Nobody could beat them when they have the
Big three? Oh yeah, guess what, No Big three anymore
because they just couldn't put it all together. So yeah, sorry,
I'm backing off. Suddenly, all the Nets are gonna be great.
There's always something with them. You think things are great,
things are wind. Things are great for the Nets. Sometimes
for four days they win two games in four days
and they win by thirty ego point. The Nets have
no problems and then no way. Kyrie is out for
(06:34):
a while. Wide We don't know. Is he hurt. No,
he's just not coming. He has to go buy stage
somewhere and it's a really long trip before he gets back.
Oh and Kevin Durant's not playing. He dinged up as
achilles a little bit, or he's got a hamstring. He's
gonna be out of. There's it's always something with the Nets.
Mike Harmon, I'm not buying on him, because there's always something.
I'll tell you what. I just wait until those uh
(06:54):
burner accounts get activated and things go south. But you know,
with Kyrie Irving vaccine mandates that the fact that it's
being lifted. You've had a lot of great thought pieces
out there. What if dot dot dot this announcement had
happened seventy two hours prior to the trade deadline, does
it still go down? Yeah? I think James Harden was
still done with it because there's still no end date
(07:17):
in sight. It's still there'stay rumor and a whisper here
in California, in l A County it actually changes tomorrow.
So people celebrate proceeding with caution, of course, but you
know in New York City and and around the state,
they're still trying to figure out, you know, what the
next best steps are. And and so just saying all
of a sudden, hey, snap the fingers and Kyrie Irving
(07:39):
is gonna be available, so that cures all ills um
In theory, his legs should be fresh, right, he hasn't,
other than doing running his drills and whatever else and practicing,
hasn't had a lot of game time. But we've also
seen him miss games with myriad injuries on the board,
and to your point, and you know, missing games for
other reasons in the past, and who knows when Katie
(08:01):
comes back and is he right back to fold KD
form and Ben Simmons he was cheering well today that
that helped him get throttled. I don't know, all of
a sudden, after not playing all year, he's gonna suddenly
jump in. It's like that John Wall conversation. The guy
hasn't played at all, but suddenly he's gonna come in
and be the savior for these squads. I don't understand
(08:23):
the logic. I just don't. It just fails, especially when
the Eastern Conference has five or six teams, including the
the Celtics that they watched house them today, that are
better and well formed and ready to go. Buddy, let
let me let me explain this to you again. If
you have something that's not working and they take it
(08:44):
away from you, if they don't bring you something else,
you're no worse off. You may be better off, you
might not be, but you're definitely not worse off than
you were before. Yeah. No, But the point, the point
is that suddenly and this is your your I wanted
to John wallt trade it was the Okay, I get it,
the addition by subtraction. However, you're still trying to figure
(09:04):
out how to make a piece work that's going to
make your team better. Right, It's not a matter being
no worse off than you are. It's all of a
sudden you are going to be elevated and lifted. What
John Walla is gonna come in and crack jokes and
make everybody feel light and airy going out out into
the court, and that's gonna be the difference. It just
(09:26):
doesn't work for me. It's it's faulty logic, man, it's
fuzzy math. Let me, let let me give you. Let
me give you more human explanation for it. Okay. Let's
say I go to a restaurant and I'm hungry, right, Okay,
So I ordered food and I go, you know what
I want? What what do you want? I go, I
want the shrimp pasta with with butter sauce, and I'm
gonna have the biscuits a lot of times. No, there's
(09:49):
no ge and there's no purging after I'm not on.
This is not a cleanse. This is just an app.
This is just an average dinner that I go out
to get. I don't want I want the buttermilk biscuits
before I want the nice A little pasta in the
butter sauce with a little bit of broccoli make ti
shirt feel better. I'm eating broccoli with my tasta and
I had a little bit of shrimp in Their taste
really really good. Excited about that. Well, we're gonna get
a nice little mocha on the side. Feeling really good.
(10:11):
They're gonna get ready and have dessert and have that
big uh tuls to letch a cake that looks so
moist it's great, okay. And then they bring me the
dinner and they go, here's your appetizer, and it's apple
butter and toast. I'm like, okay, I didn't order this. This
This is not gonna work for me. But apple apple
(10:31):
butter can go both ways. Apple butt is it's very
Apple butter is more polarizing than you think it really is.
And then my main dish comes and instead it's a
baked potato. But wait, but where's it. No, No, it's
a baked potato and it's just baked potato. No, there's
nothing else on it. It's all skin. And I cut
it open and it's hot and it's dry and it's terrible,
and I go, this isn't gonna work for me. Now,
(10:54):
I'm in a pretty bad spot right now because I
got two dishes that I don't want and forget about
a letch cake to mainze will bring me a piece
of key line pie. At that point, here's your key
Line pie. It's the worst desert. That's inn a front
to all sensibilities of an educated palate. So it's so
(11:16):
my meal is a mess, right, It's it's toast with
apple butter, a baked potato, and it's a piece of
key lime pie. Right. It's stuff that when you go
to an automatic it's it's, oh, that's what I'll get.
I guess this is what I'm gonna eat. Uh. So
it's a mess right now. It's not working for me, right,
But I'm hungry and I want to eat. And the
waiter says, oh, I'm sorry, let me take this away
from you and I'll get you your food soon. Alright, great,
(11:39):
so they take the food away from me. Now where
am I at this point? Right now? I know that
maybe I'm getting my food. I'm not that confident. I'm
kind of confident, but I'm not confident because I ordered
my food before and it was terrible. But they came
and took the bad food away, so I don't have
to worry about that. So at least I don't worry
about the bad food, and now the possibility exists that
(12:00):
I could actually get a good meal and no key
line by This is what happens when you make those
kinds of trades, Mike. You move a guy out. This
guy's not working, maybe this guy's but I know that
didn't work. So now I'm feeling pretty good about it.
Now I want to feel optimistic. I want to find
my wins less you always say I want to do that,
I want to I'm gonna try to find so I'm
gonna be a little bit more optimistic that I can
(12:21):
get that. But if it doesn't, I'm no worse off
than it was, and I'm actually better off than I
was when I had the bad food. That's how I
feel good. Yeah, I don't know how much better off
you are. You got a guy you can still got
an empty seat on your bench in the to pake
it back to the basketball side. As for the meal,
I mean, now you're salivating because you at least had
food that came out in front of you, and maybe
(12:42):
you just had the guy's meal from the next table
over and now he said, because it goes back to
the kitchen cause once it comes out, hey, it's got
to be scrapped. And now they have to read. Even
in theory, that's the legal side of it. We all
know if you work in a restaurant, wink wink, that
maybe it just comes right back out the other side door.
But the the idea being that, you know, just another
(13:03):
guy showing up who hasn't been available to play is
suddenly gonna satisfy your palette smith suddenly, like if even
if they get it right, you know what, you're just
back to basic because that's what you ordered to be
in with you unless they throw in some other piece
of chocolate or something for I'm getting out from that
bad mistake. I'm getting out for mistake I made. If
(13:25):
you didn't order the mistake, it doesn't matter the mistake
and they no, no, no, no, no. That's if the
Lakers are at a table and then Lebron at the
other table ordered food for them. Wait, I didn't order this. No,
the guy at the other table order this for you,
but I don't want this. Nobody really wants you to
have it, and you have to eat it, Okay, No,
that's that that's different. That's different than meat ordering it well,
I mean it would have been kind of cool, is
(13:46):
if it was a mystery meal, right, and and you
get what you get and you don't get upset. I mean,
here it is. You try to go to restaurant and
order food for the table next to you. Try that
and see how that goes well of people? How about
it's it's a little bit of an extension of the
I'm gonna pay for the coffee of the person behind
me in the drive through lane. This is now gonna
(14:08):
be the Hey, let me order for the table. I'm
gonna be so bold. It's no longer I am ordering
from my day to show you know how assertive and
madly I am and how worldly I am. No, no, no,
I'm deciding what that guy's gonna eat over there. I
kind of like that. Be sure to catch live editions

Slash match limitations they do apply. Now. I know I
said this last night. I know this. You don't need
(15:34):
to say to me, Hey, but you said I. I
do not need you to tell me how deep the
ocean is. I I know I said this last night.
I know I said, you know, what if we just
ignore the Aaron Rodgers news until it actually happens? What? What? What?
What can? How long can we go? How long can
we go? Well, apparently it's twenty four hours or less
than that, because I said that, like in the third
(15:56):
hour of the show, so like two hours. I know
I said this, I know this, and now I have
to go against it. I never like to do that.
I never like to go against something I say when
I say something so emphatically, but I gotta go against
it in this case. But I called you out and
told you were full of it in the moment. You
were too obsessed with it. You were too hurt, you
were too angry that he went on McAfee and did
(16:17):
not give you the answer to the riddle that you
saw it. How many of those streams and McAfee got
for a show was because of my tweet, all of them,
all of them, every single one. Feeling a little bit chesty,
you want me to get your crown over there? Everything
trying to guard against hubrists and self importance on a
(16:39):
day to day basis. But I've never been so bold
as to proclaim, you know, the only reason that guy exists,
because I've had people do that to me in my career,
guys that will not be named here may or may
not have appeared in superhero movies. Uh, to tell me
that my career wouldn't exist without him, I mean, that's
basically what you're doing here. You know what, you would
have gotten a zero if it wasn't for me. Dude,
(17:00):
What did Ben Affleck do to you? Man? I mean seriously,
he stole Jennifer Lopez. By the way, Marry Me schlock
is exactly what you'd expect anyway. Why would you wait?
You went to see Mary Me? What it was? I
was on streaming. It was part of my subscription, So
(17:21):
it doesn't matter. You sat through Marry Me, What's Wrong
with You? And that was some good music in it,
and it was Jennifer Lopez and Owen Wilson. Haven't I
taught you better than to watch a movie like that?
You know what? That's good? You know how bad that's
going to be. I'm a hopeless romantic at heart. And
Jennifer Lopez did a movie that was any good. When's
the last time Jennifer Lopez did a movie that was
any good? Out of sight? What was that? Two thousand
(17:43):
and three? It's a long time. Come on, you know what,
don't you have? It? Just a general feel good kind
of sensation when she's on the screen. And I don't
mean that in a creepy way. I just mean that,
you know, you want to open your heart and love
and sharing that moment because it's it's a ridiculous, silly,
simple rom com. I don't have to think too much.
I can let my brain just be for a little bit.
(18:05):
Why must you judge me? So I'm I'm just saying
there's much better ways to spend your time than watching something.
I know how it's gonna go, I know how it's
gonna end. It's not gonna be particularly funny. It's gonna
feel long. At ninety one minutes, it's gonna feel long.
And uh okay, yeah, I think I could do something else.
Every season you come back for the Jets, the Mets
(18:26):
had the Knicks. Oh, you walked right into it. Baby,
that's but. But But here's the thing, because that's one
hundred twenty minutes or more at a time. I'm not
paying any extra money for that. I didn't pay any
extra money. It's already part of the subscription you're paying
for the streaming. So so I paid a nickel off
of everything else. That's five cents more than that movie
(18:48):
is probably worth. No, there were a couple of good
one liners in there. Stop you just said it was schlock.
You said it was awful. Just because I said it
was bad. Now you're saying it was better, just because
you want to know it was bad. And now you're saying,
oh no, no, not what I didn't say that, just
saying it was as you would expect if you were
(19:09):
you're looking for a surprise twist. It failed. I had
another movie that was excited about, and I sat and
I watched, and I was waiting for something big. I'm like,
I saw that coming from a mile away, and I
just stuff at the wall and said, I'm glad I
wasted that two hours. So you know, just as bad man,
just as bad you got. You gotta be more selective.
There's usually just let me know. When you're looking for
(19:31):
something to watch, I'll give you something. You told me.
You you you when Maddie watched Midsummer What you can't?
How do you do? I still can't believe you. That
was really good. That was a great movie. But oh
my god, dude, some of that stuff, Come on, what
do you mean? What what do you mean? Just what's
talking about the same movie? Right? Yeah, the same movie
(19:54):
running off in the movie I made my groning and
and she go, but yeah, chet he was in there,
and yeah, Okay, who all right? Then? Uh about the
bell Cope experiment next, Michael Douglas. Know it was a
(20:14):
It's a movie from James Gunn. Okay, stars Sean Gunn.
And you recognize probably about three quarters of the people
in the movie. Pretty is everybody's name have to be Gunn?
Is that what it is? Is it the do they play?
Your favorite actress is not in there? No Anna gun
Oh she's a horrible actress. Head know she's not my
would not see. I knew I could bring you back
(20:35):
down to your vitriol because it gets you back into
your Aaron Rodgers. And I was just thinking about the
Peter Gunn theme. Dun dun dun dune dun dun d
I said that Aaron Rodgers we wouldn't talk about him.
But here's why I want to. Diana Racini VSPN. Today
I had the report that Aaron Rodgers is going to
(20:57):
inform the packers of his future plans quote soon right
like it's nothing. We didn't know. We knew this alright,
this isn't news. The plans could include retirement, finishing the
last year of his contract in Green Bay, or going
to another team, which are the only three choices you have.
You're either playing, or you're not, or you're going somewhere else.
All right, that's what it is. A right, it's a lot.
(21:19):
He goes into the broadcast booth. Oh wait, that would
mean he had retired. Oh but no, no, no, why
can't he do both? Why can't he play on Sunday
and do the Monday night games? Now that would be good? What? Right? Not? Right?
I mean, I got no problem with it. I gotta say,
Greg Olson and now working with us at Fox and
and doing some great work. And obviously his rookie year
(21:40):
went really well. But as a player, when he was
injured or they had a bye week, he was doing games.
So yeah, I guess it works. Yeah. And look, I
gotta say he's the one guy I would watch because
if he wants to spend fifteen minutes of a thirty
one to three game telling us about the cleans he
just did, I would listen to that. I would listen
to tell me about all the craziest stuff he doesn't
go and what the hell is wrong with us? Stootage.
(22:02):
I brought it with for the production team. Now let
me talk you through it here. As the Jets are
down thirty eight three here in the third. Now, interesting,
stop with that the Jets are not going to be
on Monday Night football. Just stop lying to everybody. Come on,
you got the Jets on Monday Night. The Jets the
only time the Jets. They put games on Wednesday. Maybe
(22:24):
the Jets will make it, maybe if they had another day,
Wednesday night football. We have the Jets, and well it's
just a scrimmage. So the Jets scrimmage will air on
Wednesday night. Uh So he says that we're gonna have
this decision, so which we knew all of this already, right,
nothing added there. But now let me throw something brand
(22:46):
new into this, right, because this is all about Aaron
Rodgers plans. Right, I'm gonna tell you what I'm going
to do. And you know this pisses off the Packers,
right that I am. I am holding all the cards.
Here's what I'm gonna I'm either gonna stay or I'm
gonna go, or I'm gonna retire. I wanna do one
of those things, and I'm gonna let you know when
I am good and ready, but I'll do it in
(23:07):
time for the league here, but don't worry, I will
let you know now the Packers have said that everything
they're doing depends on Rogers, and Rogers has said, well,
if they bring Davontae Adams back, then I will wind
up coming back. So Rogers says, I want this, and
the Packers say it all depends on what you do.
So now you're in an irresistible force meets a movable object.
(23:28):
What if right? Let's play what if? Right? What if
the Packers just say I'm done with this and we're
trading you anyway, We're just gonna trade you. But I
haven't said no, no, no, we're trading you because we're
done with your act. Because you could do it right.
You could call and and and find one of his
(23:48):
preferred destinations, whether it's the Raiders or the Broncos or
a different team. They we're gonna trade you to place
that's pretty good. We're gonna send you to the a
f C, and we're gonna get you out of here
because we're done with your act. And remember it doesn't
have no trade clause, so they can really do whatever
the hell they want. Right, But still, if you trade
him someplace he really doesn't want to go, he would
just say I'm done and I'm walking away, right, that
(24:10):
that's you. Don't you can't just say, well, we're trading
you to the Jets. I don't want to go to
the Jets. I'm just see you later everybody. So it's
gotta be someplace. So you gotta trade him to a
destination where he's gonna wind up going, because those are
the teams are gonna give you the biggest package for him,
all the Raiders. Okay, great, they'd give you something, so
you could do that. And then suddenly the first fallout
is Aaron Rodgers playing defense. Well, I didn't ask for
(24:31):
this trade. No, no no, no. The whole last year and
a half, you have held everybody hostage over I may stay,
I may go, I might retire. So you can't sit
here and say, oh no, no no, I didn't ask for it.
And the Packers move on and they stick it to him.
If any franchise can do that, the Packers will because
they're different. They would gain the power back. Right, They're
coming off of another playoff defeat at home with no offense,
(24:54):
and yes, and and yes, Matt Lafleur is getting a
lot of the blame, but this is still Aaron Rodgers
wasn't able to enough points on the board in the
last two playoffs, they'll blowback and be the least. Right now, hey,
we're moving on from Yes, he won the m V people,
look how far we got. We're moving on. We're going on.
We're gonna do it anyway. They did it with Brett
Farve and they went to Aaron Rodgers and things turned
out fine. Hey, trust us on this, They'll say, trust us,
(25:16):
we're getting Derek carrback. He's gonna be fine for a
little bit. We wait for Jordan's love. Maybe he works,
because you know, Derek Carr would be a part of
any deal that he would whatever starting quarterback you have
is gonna go back as a throw in in the trade.
So that would happen, and the Packers would say, just
trust us, we're done with his act, all the demands
that he has made. And then suddenly they can let
it go full barrel and say, this is stuff that
(25:37):
he has done, this is stuff that he has asked for.
We run this organization because the Packers are the one
team that will do it. Most of the teams just
fall over and say, yeah, whatever you want, Aaron, we'll
do it for you. But just please don't tell anybody
that we did that. Just let let us look like
we have a lot of power. If anybody could do it,
it's the packers. What if they just traded him regardless
and and and jumped in and got ahead of this.
(25:57):
That's what I would love to see. Do we get
to do a joint statement between Goodacons and Rob Polinka.
We're in charge now, Hey, this is a group of
people here. When we get parallel here, we make our
own decisions. Right, it's got to be some kind of teleconference.
It's we make our own decisions dot com. For speaker
(26:19):
Brian Goudac, second speaker Rob Polinka, have to Rob Polinka.
How we don't have anybody yet. Don't worry, we'll get
somebody else. Yeah, we run this blank dot com. Uh,
and the g ms are standing up for themselves. We
we have full control. Yeah. I think with the the
Aaron Rodgers, I think this was a report that what
did it really further? Nothing? Right, it was a al right,
(26:42):
I need a byeline for the day. No, no disrespect
to Diana. It's does great work. It's just all right.
It's just the next day of this and then we
do the same thing and we throw out the same
five or six teams that it would be interesting because
they all have to be in the a f C.
Jason all have to be in the a f C.
Know it would be. It wouldn't be. You couldn't screw
(27:02):
him because then he wouldn't report. And and that's and
that's the one thing you have to take into account.
You know, you just trade him anywhere? No, then I'll say,
oh no, but no. But my point is that it's
the all right, they wouldn't trade him in conference? They could,
I mean, I don't. I never push that away if
if a team suddenly comes over the top with a
ridiculous offer, you'd have to listen, right, you get because
(27:26):
you're also not banking on him. Play until forty four
or forty two or whatever arbitrate number you want to
throw out. You know you're looking at it, all right,
how does this best best help our team? Now? If
you're the Packers, because you still have a pretty good
roster right overall. You've got a couple of great running backs,
You've got an offensive line that you're hopeful is a
(27:47):
bit healthier. Maybe add another piece there, add one more receiver. Defense,
you gotta figure out what's going on with Zadarius Smith, right,
Because as much as we talk about Instagram accounts for
everybody on offense, uh, he's been having some fun as well.
So you've got to figure out what the defensive side
looks like. But you're you're still in a pretty good
position because of what the NFC is, which is why
(28:10):
I would still do the long power point presentation to
remind Aaron and this maybe what it was part of
his twelve day cleanse and grounding and gratitude is recognizing,
holy crap, it could get really bad out there. There's
a lot of teams. Look at look at what I've got,
look at the path, look at all of this that
(28:31):
it works out so well, which is why you start
name checking back Tor and all these other guys, uh
in your thank yous. But for the Packers organization, sure
you're listening, but you're also recognizing that well, while we
may all differ as to how high we rank Rogers
in the you know, the all time great stuff that
people love to do, even in the current quarterbacks like yeah,
(28:54):
great regular season and then the offense sputtered and they
had a plan to to shut them down once again,
you still have to replace him, and it's like replacing
a coach. Whenever we do that and people get all excitable,
going all right, just ship them out. It's like it's
it's not always quite so easy, right. The grass isn't greener.
So it's a delicate balance. I'd love to see Goudacons
(29:17):
just go and say, you know what, we're done with this.
But that's not gonna happen. That's not gonna happen because
he has a risks uh, losing Davante Adams altogether, although
they can always franchise tag him, but we know how
well that goes, right and players, you're gonna get the
average of the top five. I hate that. It's like, okay,
(29:38):
so what do we do for a long term deal?
What do you want to what do you want to accomplish?
It's uh, it's it's a delicate game. And I'd like
to see if we can market it. Uh football GM
and how to properly navigate um whiney quarterbacks? Twitter? And
how about a frescup might get swollen dumb. If any team,
(29:58):
any organization had the gut to do it, it would
be the Packers. They've done it before. They said okay,
Brett Farve. Sorry, yes, but we're you. I'm I'm your
whole team. Yes, sorry, we're done with you. We're moving on.
If any team would do it, it's the Packers. That
you had Aaron Rodgers sitting there, and you'd played that
room for three years. Right now, we were only at
halfway through on that timeline. He's got another year and
(30:18):
a half to be a pain in the ass before
they would have to go the and so with far

Slash match limitations they do apply. Well. Welcome back to
the NBA. They're back playing games tonight. Real live games
are happening. We have close games. We have games are
(31:00):
not so close nets but uh all eyes tomorrow will
be on Philadelphia as James Harden is set to make
his debut for the seventies Sixers, and you're saying, ah, Jason,
know what you're gonna say. You don't like the Nets
with Simmons, you don't like hard you know, like, no,
I'm gonna surprise you. This can work. James Harden can
work with the Sixers. And there's no but well, there
(31:24):
is a butt, but there's no but for this season.
James Harden can work for this season. After this season,
good luck. Because this is simply his nature. He'll show up,
it'll be okay for a while. Then he's gonna get upset.
Something's going to happen. He's gonna disengage, and he'll want
to move on. Every time this happens to players who
(31:44):
have to change locations, their happiness period is like a
half life. You know. James Harden was happy for a
long time in Houston, then he wasn't. Then he goes
to the Nets. He was happy for a very short
time and then he wasn't. I mean, it doesn't. I
think in the second one he feels like he was
sold a bill of goods. But hey, then you know what,
(32:05):
then then then don't go crazy saying I want to
be a net. You know, then do do better? Reason did?
And then he expected, he expected everybody else to want
to be a net. Know where you got? You know,
when you're a net, you're always never mind. That's your
own that's his own fault, that's his own fault. You
knew where you were going, You knew who k D was.
You knew who Kyrie Irving was. I don't feel bad
(32:27):
for you knew where you were going. Do you really
think that was gonna work? But when when players have
to change locations, because as their careers go on and
they get older, you're happier for a less amount of
time just just in general, as you get older, you
have less patience for seeing if things turn around. Okay,
well this isn't I gave it so long at this
(32:48):
one job I was at. I was there for eight
years and I left. Boy, I'm here this new job
for a year. It's just not working out. I need
to go someplace else. I'm gonna change jobs again. It's
just how it goes. And James Harden clearly brings it
on himself because it's things like not going to practice,
not going to film session, being disengaged from the team. Look,
all the nets wanted him out. As as tough as
(33:08):
it is to play with k D and Kyrie, all
the nets wanted about They all rejoiced when he got traded.
So is it really going to suddenly go great this
year and then great next year. No, there's a honeymoon period,
because there's always a honeymoon period. But it's just this season.
It's like you're the seventies six. As long as they
know they got into James Harden for this year only
(33:29):
because next year he's gonna want out. He's gonna be upset.
He's not gonna get along with them, bead. It's just
how it goes for him. So next year is gonna
be terrible, and it's gonna be Can we get rid
of James Harden for the deadline again? But the rest
of this year with the East being wide open this year,
it can work after this, No way, but right now
it can. Yeah. I don't think you're worried about it
(33:49):
long term. You're worried about getting to the Promised Land
and capitalizing. They're hoping at least next year they would
have him. No, no, not, But you can't even worry
about that. Right now, you have to worry about Joel
Embiads having this fantastic season, and he has been healthy
and he has been dominant. And yes, I know all
those injuries, the big ones of the past are are
(34:10):
a mile away at this point. But you know what,
objects in rear view mirror are closer than they appear.
In other words, you need to maximize what you can
do now, which is why you pulled the trigger on
this trade. Right we saw as bad as badly as
the nets played today. You saw Seth Curry, he was
still be what he finished with twenty two points. It
(34:30):
was pretty efficient, about fifty percent shooting. So you know
that's an asset you gave away. Ben Simmons. Well, it
was clear they were never going to get get together again.
And Joel Embiad has done everything he can to let
you know how hard he tried. He tried, Jason, he tried,
and he cajoled and and then when it went bad,
he just said, all right, forget it. Dominance Coost scorched
(34:52):
and I'm gonna tell you how bad this guy is
and how much I want him going to the point
where he was posing with the guy that that does
the funeral picture right, the well dressed guys showing up
at his his most hated rivals funeral. He did a
photo op with that guy overall Star weekend. That's where
we're at. But for this year, for James Harden, it's
come in. Fit in right there, showing all making sure
(35:15):
all video, all clips that you can hit show of
us playing grab acid, hanging out at practice. We're coming
for you. We're ready. Fantastic first half. They're worried about
trying to finish the job because they've been there close right,
they were on the precipice of something great in terms
of the process, and now it's uh well revamped in
the next round. Worry about three after this is over,
(35:40):
and if it blows up, then it'll be just like
Antonio Brown and a number of other guys where we've
checked those boxes before. During a game, he's just gonna
walk up like baby, take his jersey off and throw
it into the crowd. Well, and we just solve all
those questions about fat suits, ones and wraps and whatever
wants and for all, He'll just grab it a let
trick razor to start shaving his beard and throwing his
(36:02):
clippings into the I can capture those and put those
in a trading card. Oh just there with a Narelko
like what what? What a great name? Just just boom,
just cutting here. You gotta take it. I'm walking off
the court and I'm done. You know that. I'd like
to see. I'd really like to see that. I got
(36:22):
James Harton's hair. I'm selling it on eBay. It's worth
a lot of money. There's there's weird people out there
to buy anything. This is game gotten beard hair from
James Harton. Got another big story out of the NBA.
