I'm wearing jim shorts and a Mike Tyson T shirt.
In fact, our boss hit us Upody goes, hey, you guys,

(02:30):

and on Fridays we don't do it. So it's a
glorious Friday. We get to sleep in, go to the gym,
take a walk. So we show up basically in our pjs.
Speaker 3 (02:49):
What happened to you? Stay ready so you don't have
to get ready? Well, we do every day except for Friday.
Oh okay, I'm read a rum. We're ready for the weekend.
We're ready to relax.
Speaker 1 (02:59):
So, guys, hope you had a great Thursday night, a
Bronnie James. Would you have ever thought I would have
said it and meant it. Hope you had a Bronnie
James sort of night. I can't say that we told
you so, but we did tell you to look out
for a big night for Bronnie, because I mean they
had a turn to him yes day. Well, not only that,
(03:19):
I said it during yesterday show, and I'm certainly not
doing though I told you so. But I did say,
with all those players out, even if the Lakers only
put up I said, if they only put up minimal points,
someone had to score them. And would you believe Ronnie
seventeen points, a couple threes, made a sweet pass that
made like the highlight reel. So you know what, But dude,
(03:40):
he was hitting floaters, hitting the trees like you said,
I'm running in court about Bronnie full court passes. He
had seventeen points, five assists, three rebounds. The athleticism, though,
is noticeable. And again the touch, she seems like he
has a nice touch, a little floater. Like I said,
he just looked. He look good. So can he grow
(04:02):
from there? Absolutely, he's a rookie, and even guys like
Steven A. Smith. I may have been wrong. I may
have been wrong about Ronnie. You know, you have to
give him his props. If we're gonna dump on the
guy and talk about nepotism and he doesn't belong there
and this and that.
Speaker 3 (04:19):
Hey, he's a rookie. He played a good game. Maybe
he just needs more opportunity. But you're changing your tune
after one game.
Speaker 1 (04:25):
Dude was good. He was running past you just had
to foul him a few times. What do you mean
one game that he actually had to play. He hasn't
had that much playing time.
Speaker 2 (04:37):
To lose, and there's no like you said, it's like
nobody was expecting the Lakers.
Speaker 1 (04:40):
To win that game.
Speaker 2 (04:42):
So when you go in with that mentality, is it
is it really what he's like. I'm not trying to
take away from bron I don't dislike the kid, but
on one games.
Speaker 4 (04:51):
On the flip side, though, what if he had gone
one for eighteen?
Speaker 1 (04:55):
Yeah, it's something to build off of.
Speaker 2 (04:58):
No matter what he does, he's gonna be talked about,
unfortunately for him. But the Lakers lost.
Speaker 1 (05:03):
I mean see if he was on the Clippers, he
put up seventeen at least every night, right, probably? Okay,
Look they lost. It's something to build off of, and
you gotta figure the timing is great because just yesterday
we were talking about how he said he sees the criticism,
he's aware of it, and it motivates him. So he
sort of put it where his mouth was, and he
showed it last night. It shows that the pressure is
(05:25):
not going to get to him. He looked good.
Speaker 3 (05:27):
Why can't you acknowledge that he had an incredible game,
single game without issuing a formal apology for what you've
said before that.
Speaker 5 (05:34):
Because Steven is asked, I'm sorry, it's like just his game,
and it's like acknowledge it. And then once it becomes,
you know, a trend or a regular thing, then maybe
you can issue exactly.
Speaker 4 (05:47):
I think I think we all know why he He's
trying to get it back in Lebron's good graces.
Speaker 1 (05:52):
Yeah, no doubt, no doubt. Hey, you know what it
poses a question that might be fun to start the
show with. There's so many randose stories today in the
world of sports that we're gonna have fun with. But
nepotism a word that's thrown around so much in sports
and entertainment and musicies babies, and it really is like
a baby's an eye rolling buzzword. Nepotism sounds like a
(06:14):
word that means something else. I'll give you another example,
when Covino is going through his divorce. Say it took
seven minutes for me to bring up your divorce today. Yeah, man, wow,
seven minutes. I remember I sat down with Cavino at
his divorce attorney's office because I'm like a great friend
like that, I'm the best guy. And his divorce attorney said, Steve,
you're such a mensch, and I'm like, well, yo, she
(06:36):
talking smack deal YEA thought. I thought she wanted to
throw hands like a mensch doesn't sound like a good word.
Mensch means you're a swell fella. Nepotism sounds like you
need sounds like something out of a drug commercial, like
you need Valtrex for it. Yeah, nempathism sound doesn't sound
like what it is. But what about it? Skuy rizzy
(06:59):
for your nepotism? So lebron you know, goes above and
beyond to try to make the path easier for Bronnie.
We would all do anything for our kids. That's something
we all forget. Right by the way, The interesting part
of that story is, yeah, it's so obvious, but it
does happen in every other industry. Why is it so
odd when it happens in sports? So it poses the
(07:22):
question of what industries are you okay with nepotism? And
what industries are you not Like if John's Plumbing has
been run by good old John Johnson for thirty years
and he hands it over to his son, and that
was sounds like, oh, in a plumbing company, that's not nepotism,
that's a family business.
Speaker 3 (07:41):
Because it's like if his son was with him all
the time learning the job. I don't think that's nepotism.
I think that's just handing it off to your your descendants.
Nepotism would be like if you gave your son like
a high profile job that like other that has no
experience in. Really other qualified plumbers were going after, but
your son, who's an got that job.
Speaker 1 (08:01):
Like that's like when Billy Madison was gonna be the
heir of the Madison Hotel Forte. Nepotism past the third
grade gonna make a huge statement.
Speaker 4 (08:11):
Well, you could argue about Brownie's you know, playing days
all through school and almost dying on the court at USC.
Speaker 1 (08:19):
It's true.
Speaker 4 (08:19):
It's not like he just walked onto a court, you know,
one day and was like I want to play.
Speaker 3 (08:24):
Yeah, we all know Lebron did this for himself and
not his kid, right, Yeah, but let's all be real.
Speaker 1 (08:28):
He would have been here for himself. He's just there
a little sooner than he would have been. Yeah. I
mean so when it comes to maybe the plumbing example,
I was saym quick to the punch on that. But
let's say he's quick to the point to the point,
no fake them. If your doctor buss, doctor bus, and
(08:49):
you know your kids are the people that run the Lakers,
that's not nepotism in your mind in some capacity.
Speaker 3 (08:55):
Uh No, I think I definitely you're handing off like
a billion dollar enterprise to your children, like it's kind
of like a succession.
Speaker 1 (09:02):
Are you watching Running Point on the waves?
Speaker 4 (09:06):
Yeah?
Speaker 1 (09:06):
On Netflix?
Speaker 3 (09:07):
I mean no, I know the premise of it, but yeah,
like didn't didn't Genie Bush. She had to kind of
like wrestle away control from her brothers who like were
just incompetent at running things, which which is and she's
doing a better job than them for for sure, which
is the plot lim of Running Point.
Speaker 1 (09:21):
Of Running Point. My point is that the Key's point,
we see nepotism and favoritism all the time. I just
wonder why we have such a I don't I don't
think I can say on Fox hold on, why do
we have such a problema with it because.
Speaker 3 (09:37):
Because nepotism at its core is giving a job that
should go to a much more skilled individual, that job
because of their name alone. And yes, you give it's
getting an opportunity where an opportunity wouldn't exist just strictly
based on your family.
Speaker 1 (09:54):
Yeah, but there's more to it than just that, because
guess what. You know, who gets the killed cheers when
they're in the game. You know the fans are most
excited about when they're in the game. You know who
could probably put more asses in the seats than other
rookies that you don't know, Bronnie James. There's still value
in him. And I always have an issue when people
really harp on nepo babies and nepotism because I think
(10:16):
that will that will open the door. But once you're
through that door, if you don't deliver on your own,
you will fall flat and it'll be embarrassing. But m
and the reality is Bob Bam. There's there's an artist
right now that's big on the popsy and your kids
may listen to her. I would Sam if you want
to cue up some Gracie Abrams. She's a hot young
artist who opens for Taylor Swift. She's got a couple
(10:37):
of pop songs that are top ten. I didn't even
do it, didn't dawn to me. I didn't realize it
was JJ Abrams's daughter. But you know what, if she's stunk,
would the songs be big? It all comes out in
the wash. You could get that advantage in life, but
you're right, you have to deliver. I mean, we just
talked about running point Kate Hudson. Doesn't she come from
(10:57):
a Hollywood family? Yeah, Goldie haunts are I mean, if
Kate Hudson stunk, guess what we see in a couple
of things, and then we'd be like that fades away.
Speaker 3 (11:06):
That label will go away if you are good, if
you're up to snuff, it'll disappear.
Speaker 1 (11:10):
Well.
Speaker 3 (11:10):
Isn't that the argument with Bronnie Like he wasn't well,
But again we need to him do it, like over
an entire season, not just one. But he has given
an opportunity that if he if he was just you know,
Bronnie Johnson coming out of college, he wouldn't even got
a second look by anybody there.
Speaker 4 (11:28):
Eventually he was eventually, but not now. He has been
playing well in the G League and our argument at
the start of the season was too bad. It wasn't
for a different G league where he's not in his
dad's shadows.
Speaker 2 (11:39):
Like Bronnie James should be playing in the NCAA tournament.
Speaker 1 (11:44):
Like not' he didn't go through a full cycle. Ritches point. Then,
there's so many other examples in life where people just
have advantages because of who their parents are. This advantage
was always going to be there. I just think a
lot of.
Speaker 2 (11:56):
Us feel like it was extremely rushed, especially with the
year that he had a USC which was not even
a complete year, so this just was rushed.
Speaker 1 (12:05):
It was always gonna happen because he was running past
Jannis last night, but he was looking good, really trying.
It was never a question to that game. That's when
I said someone's sitting on the hater aid today. It's
not a hater, it's being realistic Hayten.
Speaker 3 (12:23):
She's just stating Lebron did it for Lebron. He didn't
do it for BRONI we wanted to. He wanted to
have that historical moment of father playing with his son.
That's why it was rushed. What's wrong with that, There's
nothing wrong with that, but but to you know, deny
that it Like BONCEI said, it was rushed and it
was in appropriate time and he was too soon and
that you know, it was a huge moment of nepotism.
Speaker 4 (12:45):
But he can't control what family he was born into.
So you guys are making a good point. It's up
to him right now. No, I know, but look at
our business for an example. Howard Stern's dad was in radio. Yeah,
all right, he helped Howard get into radio. It's a
small local level right here. It had to be the
man though, Yeah, exactly.
Speaker 1 (13:04):
Voice. Remember you went from like to hold on. Take
a time out for a second. Think about this in
every industry. There's a big story going on right now
in the broadcasting world, and it's it's interesting because a
guy that we admire and I've always said nice things
about Mad Dog Russo, Mad Dog Russo has his own
channel in serious sexm Mad Dog Radio, Mike and the
(13:25):
Mad Dog God. After that, everybody, if you grew up
on the East Coast, I mean, there was no one bigger.
In fact, Mike and the Mad Dog paved the way
for Colin and Dan and steven A and all these
people thirty for thirty about him. Now, mad Dog Russo,
who's made millions and millions and millions and millions, one
of the best in the sports radio game, was quick
(13:48):
to criticize Lebron and Bronni like so many people. Meanwhile,
in the news yesterday he got the old whoa, whoa
whoa hold on mad Dog because mad Dog Russo's kid
is a broadcaster in South Florida, and Mad Dog went
on a rant about how none of the New York
Mets at spring training would give my son a chance
(14:09):
to like he acknowledged, I sound like Lebron here, but
you couldn't give me anybody on the Mets. Not one
met gave his son a time for an interview, and
he lost it. He flipped out. So how do you
feel about that? My thoughts on that wered just because
it's mad Dog Russo doesn't mean his son should get
(14:29):
an interview. But yeah, not one Met could have stepped up.
That was my thought, like not one Met nobody wanted
to interview him. There's again layers different industries. Like you said,
I would say I made the distinction. If it's a
small business, you're just passing it down. I would say.
In the medical field is where I feel like metopism
should never be you know, just because your dad ran
(14:52):
that office, it doesn't mean that you should be checking
my scrot them. You know. I would say that was
you still to go through medical school. But it doesn't
mean to be a great doctor. It doesn't. I don't
want to just because your dad ran that practice. I
don't buy into that. Hey, Steve, drop your draws. Yeah, turning,
(15:13):
turn your head and cough. The weird part is, guys
put it in perspective. Honestly, it's an honor to make
it this far right. You're an elite status and level.
It's still a game. People need to relax. I can
I basketball, and you're either going to step up or
you're not. And if he doesn't, he's not gonna last long.
Speaker 3 (15:32):
Can I just say that my parents always told me
growing up, use your connections and use use what the
people you know help help you know, have them help
you out. It's it's a it's a privilege, but you
should help yourself that way.
Speaker 1 (15:44):
I can I say that When Aunt Becky, Laurie Laughlin
and some of those Hollywood elites got in trouble for
trying to get their kids into colleges, I believe rightfully.
So they got punished. But I can't tell you I
don't understand because if you're but they paid no. But
I'm saying, but I'm saying, as a parent, you realize
(16:08):
you would do anything for your kid, Danny g you
would do anything for color.
Speaker 4 (16:12):
Yeah, so you could understand it. I mean, oh, I
helped him start his new podcast.
Speaker 3 (16:16):
There is legacy in academia. There is like where if
you've gone to like a prestigious university and you're the
child of that person, you do get a you do
get a look because of that, no doubt.
Speaker 1 (16:27):
I mean how many times, how many donors are like, oh,
you know, your kid's an f up, but uh, you know,
dad and grandpa both went to Yale. So all of
a sudden, this guy who stinks by the way, you know,
since we're talking sports too, and other examples that don't
fly with you. You don't think just because of the name
on the back of the jersey. There's extra players in
(16:47):
baseball and football that get the legacy, but they get
the extra look and acknowledgment because of who they are.
Freaking Mike Piazza got in just because of his connection
with his dad. In Lasorda, you know, and you got
to step up. That's really what it comes down to.
It doesn't matter if it gives you an advantage. If
you don't deliver, this is a game of winning, You're out.
(17:08):
Rich is only here because of his uncle Bosa the clown.
Did you know those other clown entertainment Chili Davis. People
don't realize Spot's uh spots real dad, mister Belvedere.
Speaker 4 (17:24):
We've all had had some people. Yeah, I was gonna say, Kove,
you know, we've all had people help us in our lives,
maybe in our careers, and we've all, like what Sam
was saying, not just his parents, A lot of our
parents told us college number one thing, make really good connections, Uh,
you know, choose the right people to hang out with
and do well with your professors and all that, and
(17:45):
people lean on that throughout their life.
Speaker 1 (17:47):
Dale Berra, Jogi's kid, Pete Rose's kid, uh, Tony Gwinn's kid.
All decent players, but probably wouldn't have gotten that look
if it wasn't for that famous name behind that jersey
or that that nod, that acknowledgment, and it didn't last
for them. But again, it proves what we're saying may
have got him there, but they didn't stay there.
Speaker 3 (18:08):
I just think bringing it back to Bronnie the whole
thing with him, that we've had this conversation at nauseum
from the start of the Yeah, tameless, he didn't have
the stats coming into the league. That's but I'm just
saying that's that's the whole thing here. That was the
whole argument here.
Speaker 1 (18:24):
It's about skill set at that point. And I think
we could agree on one thing. He wasn't ready to
come into the NBA, but maybe at some point, but
it was rushed a little bit because of lebron Oh.
Speaker 4 (18:37):
I was going to say he was coming off. I
was going to say injury. Now, you can't call that
an injury, but an incident where it almost ended his life.
Speaker 1 (18:45):
Right.
Speaker 2 (18:45):
But if he was ready, he would have been playing
before last night. He played last night because the Lakers
rested everyone and their mom.
Speaker 1 (18:54):
Yeah, and you know what, he got an opportunity and
he looked good. If he if he keeps doing it
here and there, then gag.
Speaker 3 (19:00):
I could have put up at least ten points last night.
Speaker 1 (19:03):
Yeah, but you're acting like that, ready, hold on about that? Hey,
Rich and Covino, go down. You guys ready to step
up and and do a killer show. MATSI you are
because you're doing it all the time. Spot. You know,
all of a sudden, you be slaying it on the air.
He stepped up and he played a big game. You
got to give him credit where it's too If you're
gonna be so quick to dump on the guy, it
(19:28):
sounds a little negative to me. I just don't even
think it's a story. Oh no, no, I'm not mad. I
think it's too soon to pull it in. I think
it's too soon.
Speaker 3 (19:35):
To pull a complete one to eighty on your outlook
on him, maybe like a maybe, like a forty five.
You can be like a forty five, or like an
idea how you play against the bucks.
Speaker 4 (19:44):
But our show, but our show wasn't negative about him
like the shows body.
Speaker 3 (19:48):
Never Spot said he could score ten points. I think
he could just drink ten pints. In the stand up
thank you, I had a couple of threes. I think
the point is, you know three, like.
Speaker 1 (20:01):
Your problem is like how life works, and we're seeing
it in the NBA. But in reality, it's just the game, guys,
and the game is a great equalizer if you don't
belong there, the game will let you know. Yeah, it's
a good point. You see that with music? Is he
with acting? You see with all arenas where quote nepotism
could happen. Yep, you got to you gotta keep your
(20:22):
you gotta hold your own or else. Like Cavino said,
there have been players that gotta look, maybe they got
him into the big show, but then they go away quick,
they go away quickly. All right, play coming up. There
is a college coach that is he's throwing down a
rule that I think might be the dumbest coaching rule
I've ever heard in sports history. I don't know how
(20:47):
he thinks this is gonna work, but we'll do it
next right here, Fox Sports Radio with Cavino and Rich.

Speaker 2 (24:03):
Bill Belichick?
Speaker 1 (24:05):
Bingo. So we're gonna play a game called is it
Steve Cavino or Bill Belichick? That away prizes? Hey, do
you want to play the game's multiple choice? Your chance
to win a swiggy next hour? What do you laughing about? Monzi?
Speaker 2 (24:21):
It's gonna be real tough to figure out if it
was your Bill.
Speaker 1 (24:23):
Belichick Ar, we're the same guy.
Speaker 4 (24:28):
You're dressed like Belichick today.
Speaker 1 (24:30):
I know what's going on this guy, so rich, you
got to talk about your dancing story. This is great.
Now let's no more dancing on TikTok again. We were
out of town last week getting uh, getting already, you know,
really really much like the baseball season, we get ready
for the new ratings period. So we take off right
(24:50):
before baseball starts, right around March mad this time. So
we were away. You were on the beach. I was
on the beach, and we missed this story along the way.
And it has to do with TikTok and Instagram and
college players. West Virginia head coach Rich Rodriguez has decided
(25:13):
that he's banning his players from dancing on TikTok. That
you may have seen this floating around felt like the
last week. But we've never talked about this, and I
thought about it more and it's ridiculous. Why we talked
about Ron Washington banning phones in the clubhouse yesterday. It's
thinking outside of the box. If they have a bad season,
(25:34):
will it ever come back to well if if they
let them dance on TikTok, it would have been different.
It's it's an experiment. No, I you know what, I
disagree because I feel like there's something you said about
being loose. You know what I always tell my kids
when I'm coaching, because I'm I'm the number one coach
on Fox Sports Radio. But I always tell them, I'm like,
all right, come on, get loose, Bend those knees, come on,
(25:56):
get lose, loose, and then I say, let me see
a smile. Get loose? Do you pay play footloose for them?
Like a nerd? So let me read this real quick,
and then do you put on your Sunday shoes? Then
we'll discuss on your dancing shoes. West Virginia football coach
Rich Rodorguez told reporters that he was prohibiting his players
from dancing on TikTok because he didn't like the perception
(26:17):
it gave about his program. They're gonna be on it.
I know they're gonna be on it, so I'm not
banning it. I'm just banning them from dancing on it.
It's like, look, we try to have a hard edge
or whatever, and you're in there with your tights dancing
on TikTok. It ain't quite the image of our program.
I want. I think that's fair, man, I do I
(26:39):
think that's fair?
Speaker 3 (26:39):
Just to he's is this actually came out six hours
ago from Front Office Sports. This is not a written policy.
It is just something that he's like, I don't want
to catch you guys.
Speaker 1 (26:49):
I got some look soft. I discussed this with my wife.
My wife said, how could she? My wife was said,
how could this coach think he could monit to the
TikTok pages of fifty three plus? Dudes? You can't how
by just laying down the lawns like you want to
play for me? You want to be on my good side.
Don't act like an ass clown in a world of
(27:11):
in a world of y, so against rules, in a
world of nil. When kids are trying to make money
and find ways to become popular. Now you're telling kids
don't be creative and do things on TikTok. You need
to dance. You need to play football, dude, you need
to dance. You can tell Livvy done to stick to
the high beat, then join go on the grind, go
on dance fever, go through something else. We're here for football,
(27:34):
not to see your choreography. Give me a break, dude,
put something cool up about how great you are football.
If you're trying to set an image, it's like, you
know a lot of times I have this problem with you.
I'm trying to create an image of a show. We're
a cool young show, and you're doing goofy things on
social media that have nothing to do with the image
you need. Yeah, it's like, what a goofball post? He posted?
(27:55):
Who are we the goofballs? Or are we the cool
young show? I'm trying this game, badass football team, Why
are you dancing around on social media?
Speaker 3 (28:02):
I agree, I sound like an old man, but I
agree he's saying you have to do it.
Speaker 1 (28:06):
But again, it's it's it's for the greater good of
winning and creating a camaraderie an image for a team.
Can I say this respectfully? I was Sam. The fact
that you disagree with me makes me know I'm right,
because you are a stick in the mud. You're in
anything goes type of guy, anything, and I'm stupid. You
lose a little structure. You need a little structure anything.
(28:30):
If it wasn't for me bringing you back all the time,
this show would be off the rails and it would
be a mess. This guy's trying to keep some sort
of structure and semblance of a we're here to win.
This is serious. Not everything's fun in games all the time.
I guess what it is. It's a game. Yeah, but dude,
this is football. This football. Your life's on the line.
(28:51):
You're worried about your dance moves, get hurt playing football?
Like they say you don't play boxing. Dude, football. You
could play football, but it's tough, and you're here worrying
about your your uh, your your two step. This is
more of a what assisting called against its flossing. Yeah,
(29:12):
people still flaws. Can you listen to Sam? Sam, You're
way Why is this a life or death situation? I'm confused.
This is not. Why is dancing such a priority when
you should be worried about touchdowns? Sam, you are proving
every point you're got in your thirties and you're like,
what's that dance? The floss like you are? You are
a seventy five year old man trapped in a thirty
five year old man's body. I'm fine with that. What
the hell is wrong with you? Listen?
Speaker 3 (29:33):
It is flossing, right, I got that right, and then
this is the Pewee Herman, and then this is flossing Charleston.
Speaker 1 (29:39):
Am I right?
Speaker 2 (29:39):
Yeah?
Speaker 1 (29:39):
I was Sam Made and Caroline. I was saying during
the commercial, I want everyone to go to at Covin
on Rich because we're on Instagram, Unlike I was Sam,
who is an old guy. I'm gonna post a video
of I was saying flossing. No, no, ye, yes, yes, yes,
I'm done with that. You just want it.
Speaker 3 (29:57):
You just want something as popular as when I was
doing the the Court Jester or Yoyo routine.
Speaker 1 (30:02):
You really feel the need to dance on TikTok. My
point is pray in a world of nil and expression
and college kids not other ways to express yourself? Right?
Speaker 2 (30:10):
Can't you do it when you're not at practice or
at the facility?
Speaker 1 (30:13):
Do it at home? No, I don't think he wants
to see any of his players dancing.
Speaker 4 (30:17):
Yeah he has an off season.
Speaker 1 (30:19):
Yeah I'm in season. Don't do it at home, don't
do it in the facility. It's like it's like gambling
on your own team. Just don't do it. And I'm
sure there's plenty of ways where you could express yourself
and put your personality out there, and he's obviously bringing
us up because it's probably an issue people are doing
it in the locker room when they should be focusing
on something else. Oh no, I feel like when when,
(30:40):
first of all, when did what are we living in
the world of footloose? Like you said, no dancing in
this town? But with Kevin Bacon, like what is going
on here? But I'm just saying it's it's wild to
me that, Hey, did you ever have the need to
dance when you were playing baseball growing up? No? But
you know who does this younger generation who all think
they're the jabbawakes, Well there and they're on a football team.
(31:01):
And if you're in eighteen, you know in the ants
when you score a touchdown, when you're an eighteen nineteen
twenty year old kid, y'all look at the NFL. Every interception,
every touchdown, every first down, everything's a celebration. So my
point is you're dealing with eighteen, nineteen twenty year old kids.
I would want them loose, but I'd also want them focused.
And I don't think dancing and having fun with their
teammates is a disruption of fact. I think anything those
(31:23):
type of things create camaraderie. You're making it seem like
they don't. Maybe this guy's trying to create a culture, right,
like you're trying to be the badass team West Virginia.
Look West Virginia, man, we're not playing games. We're here
to kick some asks. This is football, dude. This isn't
baby games, right, it's football. So he's trying to create
an image like like that, Like the Raiders have an image.
Raiders are badass, and you get these guys doing pirouettes
(31:47):
on TikTok? How does that go with the image he's
trying to create.
Speaker 3 (31:51):
Didn't know it's a little ecture curricular noise he's trying
to get.
Speaker 1 (31:54):
I'm just saying NFL players used to do ballet Lin
Swan did yes? Is that not in hot yoga? And all?
That's coordination? A moment? Did that in the ring. Look,
I'm not saying there's not benefits to dance. I'm just saying,
if he's trying to create an image and he's trying
to just create some sort of structure, he's the coach.
(32:16):
Let the coach. Coach, that's why you hired him. I'm
just saying it seems like we just got done talking
a month ago about how wow, thank god the Yankees
finally got rid of this stupid facial hair policy. And
now we're talking about a coach telling kids that are eighteen,
nineteen years old not to do I don't know, Kendrick
lamar strut on Instagram and TikTok. If your priority is dancing,
join the dance team, That's what I would say.
Speaker 2 (32:38):
I don't see how this isn't about focus be a cheerleader.
Speaker 1 (32:40):
It's about focus, and.
Speaker 2 (32:41):
That's what the coach wants wants him to be focused.
Speaker 1 (32:44):
That's on the place you're making it. You know what
I would say. Anytime someone misstepped ran a wrong route,
I'm like, weren't you the guy doing choreography were Yeah,
maybe maybe if you spent less time floss and you
would have got that route. So I feel like, because
(33:06):
Rich Rich is I say disrespectfully, but Rich is close
through everything with like you know, so willy nilly, I
think no form of structure, anything goes attitude because he
brings the fun. But dude, this is football.
Speaker 3 (33:20):
This is what's great about you too, though, Like Rich
is kind of leaning into it and you're like pulling
him back. But you find this consensus kind of in
the middle, which is the great thing about this show.
Speaker 1 (33:27):
And that's what the coach is doing. Sam, he's the coach.
Let him coach Rich Rodriguez say no, non dancing. Are
these players so committed to dancing tressing me? Then go
and dance. But we were here for football, Like, what's
going on? Come on doing the great and manci what
do you got buddy? Hey, a lot.
Speaker 2 (33:50):
Of college hoops guys. So I've got a lot of
numbers running through my head.
Speaker 1 (33:54):
To try to keep this as easy as possible. Uh,
we've got.
Speaker 2 (33:57):
Two games still going on right now with eleven minutes
to go. See seed Ole miss as a fifty nine
to forty five lead over eleven seed North Carolina at halftime.
Four seed Maryland beating thirteen seed Grand Canyon forty two
to twenty eight. One seed Duke blew out sixteen seed
Mount Saint Mary's ninety three to forty nine. Cooper Flag
played had fourteen points in the win. Two seed Alabama
(34:18):
survived ninety to eighty one against fifteen seed Robert Morris
from Mark Sears had a double double in the win.
Seven seed This one just ended seventh seed who was
the seventh seed Saint Mary's Edge, Yes, just edge.
Speaker 1 (34:31):
Ten seed Vanderbilt. I know, I got confused. I was like,
this is just ended.
Speaker 2 (34:35):
They just beat ten seed Vanderbilt fifty nine to fifty six,
twelve seed Colorado State, top five seed Memphis seventy eight
to seventy, three seed Iowa State crushed fourteen seed Lipscum
eighty two to fifty five, and nine seed Baylor held
out to be eight seed Mississippi State forty five to
thirty nine. Those are all the games that have happened
on Day two, Round one of the men's tournament. The
ladies are also playing today, but it's day one. I'm
(34:55):
not gonna give you all those scores. There's been no
major upsets, but I will tell you that three seed
Notre Dame scored one hundred and six points today.
Speaker 1 (35:02):
I know ya, Manzi. Let me ask you, yess, did
you hear my fun fun fact stats yesterday that you
have a significantly better chance of getting struck by lightning,
being in a plane crash, getting struck by a meteor,
being eaten the live by a shark, or winning the
power ball then having a perfect bracket at once tournament
(35:23):
it's one in nine point two quintillion, and that'll be
my fun fact for the week. But all those things
are just so significantly easier to do.
Speaker 2 (35:30):
So Steve Hartman posted that he had all day one
matchups correct.
Speaker 1 (35:37):
He got him all right. On day one. He went
sixteen to er.
Speaker 2 (35:40):
Which is impressive to do. He's never done that, but
he tweeted about it quick. Here in the NFL, Aaron
Rodgers met with the Steelers today. Brandon Cooks signed a
two year deal with the Saints.
Speaker 1 (35:50):

Dance Revolution.

In fact, we'll get you ready for the weekend when
we do weekend hobnobbing. At the end of the show
and next hour a brand new game. So if you
want to win a prize, so multiple choice is easy.
Apparently me and Belichick are the same guy. I put
this together. I don't know if I was high or drunk,
(37:45):
but I was on vacation, probably both, and I was
on the crazy on the show. And maybe you had
dance fever yourself. I was dancing in Mexico after a
good edible or something, and I said, oh my god,
my best pal. Cavino and Bill Belichick are the same guy.
They're both grumpy and date younger women named Jordan. So
we're gonna play a fun game called is it Steve
(38:07):
Cavino or Bill Belichick? Prizes? Can't wait. Let's wrap up
the story. West Virginia head coach Rich Rodriguez bands TikTok dancing,
telling reporters he wants his mountaineers to have a hard edge,
just so fair. And your last name is Rodriguez, and
your first name is rich Why would he not go
by Ricardo Rodriguez? What a foil? First of all, why
(38:30):
don't you go by Ricardo? Maybe I should Ricardo Davis
give me a little edge. Now he's banned his players
from doing TikTok moves because it doesn't go with the
image he wants for his football team. Again, a hard edge.
Isn't that what you want for your team? But it's
a team of like it's a game of battle. We're
(38:54):
keeping it so not real to the dance battle. We're
keeping it so not real in this conversation, it's no,
you're not You're not all right. The biggest, baddest NFL
players all they're doing is dancing. All these scoring by
the way, justin Jefferson, they're elite professional athletes, Steve earn
those rights. They're the best of the best of the best.
(39:16):
And and are these guys the best of the best
are trying to create something? I thought though you had
more because there's a play clearly and was it needed clearly?
To Cavino, you need to earn dance moves. No, these
guys are professionals, they're men. These are not grown men.
These are young men that need coaching, need guidance, need
to know that dancing is not the priority. If they
(39:37):
want to get to the NFL, maybe they should focus
more on football. It's pretty simple. Yeah, I just don't
dancing is your passion and join a class. Let me
use ah, let me use a big boy term. None
of these things are mutually exclusive. It's not like because
I dance, I stink at football, and because I don't dance,
my game is stronger. I get what you're saying. Discipline
(39:59):
is I again number one coach on Fox Sports Radio.
When I'm out there with the T ball kids, some
of them don't listen. They put their hat on backwards
and I say, hey, kids, get over here taking thee.
Put your hat on the right way and listen to coach.
I get it. People need discipline. They're not pros. And
he wants to have a hard ad, but culturally to
create a loose fun we want to play together, camaraderie atmosphere.
(40:20):
We always talk about how important the clubhouse is, how
important the locker room is. Those team dinners are the veterans,
you know, bust the chops of the rookies a little bit.
That team building is so important. So when you're like,
hey man, I'm the old coach, there will be no
TikTok dancing. Say that to a bunch of college kids
and I feel like you lose the room. Then I
guess you don't want to play football that bad. That's
(40:41):
how I see it. If you're worried about your dance moves,
you're not worried about football. You said that about Yankees
and beards. If you want to be on the pinstripes
and rock the pin strips and who kids are offacial hair?
Why'd they change it? Because they realized it was lame.
But dancing is so needed, necessary when it comes to football.
I think I know why this is. This is why
you have this feeling. I want to know why you're
(41:02):
the defender of dance all of a time, because I
think I know why Steve Cavino not a great dancer?
Are you? Twinkletoes? You? You? You? You're the dancing machine.
Here Cavino at a wedding. The congo line starts, he
goes to the bathroom. Yeah, because I'm not buster pointing Dexter,
rest in peace. You're the guy. You're the guy that
has never gotten in the middle of a dance circle.
(41:23):
In your life, guy's a corny when they dance. You're
not Ted Lasso. This guy is trying to create an image.
Rich is trying to dance battle at a wedding. Why
do you think Ted last I was such a great coach.
He's dancing with his teammates having fun. Yeah, but dude,
you see how corny you sound. He's sounding a cornball,
No offense, He's sound like Corny Collins. Football is not
about who's the corn the greatest dancer. Let's play it.
(41:44):
Let's play you see what you see? How corny? He's
the corniest guy going. This is football. You're trying to
create an hard edge. Rich the greatest dancer. Let's bring
your mate for the halftime show. Now, if you're so
concerned about dancing, why don't you dance with the j
Loo at halftime? You know what at coven On Rich
during the break, I was sam flossing on our social
(42:05):
media
