series at one game apiece.
Speaker 5 (01:53):
I mean, what a game? What a series?
Speaker 2 (01:55):
Right?
Speaker 4 (01:55):
What a game?
Speaker 5 (01:56):
What a series?
Speaker 4 (01:58):
I I don't want to get ahead of myself, right,
Like I've been a Clippers fan my whole life.
Speaker 5 (02:05):
I know what they're capable of.
Speaker 4 (02:07):
I saw it in game one in overtime after being
up by I don't even know how many.
Speaker 5 (02:10):
I don't want to.
Speaker 1 (02:12):
Thank you, thank you so much.
Speaker 5 (02:13):
I appreciate it.
Speaker 1 (02:14):
Just for the record.
Speaker 4 (02:15):
Oh yeah, you gotta hold me accountable. You're right, I
don't want to get ahead of myself. But man, seeing
Kawhi play like he did last night, seeing the Clippers
play like they have even though they lost Game one,
I'm like, yeah, I'm going to the finals.
Speaker 5 (02:29):
I'm going to the finals. I don't want to get ahead
of myself.
Speaker 1 (02:32):
I say that you're so far ahead of yourself because
everybody is wondering when the other shoe drops with the Clippers.
I know, I hate to say it, like that is
the feeling. But when you saw what happened last night
in the NBA, and the Pistons are probably going back
to Detroit, Yeah they're happy, they're even with the Knicks.
They're sitting there saying maybe the same thing that you
were saying was gosh, we could be up to oh
(02:54):
going back home. Absolutely, actually think the Pistons have more
of an argument, maybe even in their situation, considering the
call apps that they had in the fourth. They lost
that first It's not like they were great closing it out.
Last night, they.
Speaker 5 (03:06):
Were not, and the Knicks weren't good. That's what it was.
Speaker 1 (03:09):
Yeah, that's what saved them.
Speaker 5 (03:10):
That's what saved them.
Speaker 4 (03:10):
Absolutely correct with the Clippers in Game one, the Nuggets
had to make big plays.
Speaker 5 (03:14):
They had to make.
Speaker 4 (03:15):
The shots, even though the Clippers had their turnovers and
it obviously costs us the game.
Speaker 5 (03:20):
It was different.
Speaker 1 (03:21):
The Knicks have Jalen Brunson, who can make great shots,
no doubt about it. Brunson's one of the best in
the NBA. I think that the Pistons have been missing
Kid Cunningham. The Nuggets didn't have it last night with
Jokic turnover in the final minute and then their last
possession wasn't anything good. But the Clippers have it with Kawhi.
(03:41):
They absolutely do have it with Kawhi. And that's what
was so amazing to see last night. Was it felt like,
and I'm gonna say six years because I think that
the lasting memory and the great memories of Kawhi and
a Clipper, Kawhi in a basketball uniform. We're winning that
NBA title with the raptor everything that the drama that
came with it, him signing with the deciding to sign
(04:04):
with the Clippers. Throughout various points, there have been more
lows than hies with the Clippers. But last night took
you in the way back machine. And maybe Piston's fans
want to say, all right, Kate Cunningham's gonna take us
in the fast forward machine of what could be. But
last night was a blast from the past and really vindicated.
I think what so many people, maybe like you Monty,
(04:26):
have been waiting for his Clippers fans, is for this
Kawhi Leonard to show up. And when that Kawhi Leonard
shows up, it is a fun watch unless you have
skin in the game. On the other side, he is
silky smooth is he has the clutch gene and just
his ability to get his shots where he wants to
(04:46):
get his shots evident in his thirty nine point effort
last night in the win. A fun, fun watch if
you are a basketball lover and not a Nuggets fan.
Speaker 5 (04:55):
Last night, and that's the big part of it.
Speaker 4 (04:57):
It's like he wasn't just taking a bunch of threes,
playing fundamental basketball from beginning to end, and when he
wants to score, he will score, And kind of like
when you when you watch Jokich, You're watching two great
basketball players at the same time who necessarily aren't the fastest.
Speaker 5 (05:15):
When Kawhi Leonard drives.
Speaker 4 (05:16):
In to get a mid range shot, he's not fast,
he's not elusive, He's just fundamental. And I don't know
if it's these young guys have forgotten how to guard
a player who's just playing fundamental basketball. But it amazes
me how he can get any shot he wants. Thirty
nine points, twelve of them were threes, the rest mid
range shots that he gets for himself.
Speaker 5 (05:37):
It is I've seen this.
Speaker 4 (05:39):
Kawhi do this in the four years as a Clipper
every now and then during the regular season, but I
haven't seen him do it in the playoffs because he
hasn't been healthy, not once, and so to see it
in a playoff game was so exciting because I have
seen this.
Speaker 5 (05:54):
I've been watching Clipper games, you know, since he since
I was little.
Speaker 4 (05:57):
But with him, he does this during the regular season,
and then we get to the playoffs and the story
has been he's not healthy.
Speaker 1 (06:04):
And I think that the Clippers fans, like yourself, will
be happily along for the ride. But to me, the
conversation is just so much about Kawhi. There is something
about Kawhi and when you look at the modern NBA player,
just any NBA player. I think this with basketball at
any level. There are guys who are freakishly athletic, girls
(06:27):
that are freakishly athletic. They're those who are smarter than
others that end up knowing the game of basketball. And
when you can combine those talents and nowhere you need
to get your spot. Honestly, it is what makes the
best of the best the best. It may sound very superficial,
(06:48):
but there's a reason why Steph Curry can do what
he can do, and it's not just make shots from
thirty nine feet. I think Lebron's got one of the
best minds that we've had in basketball. I mean, and
plus he's got twenty years of information that's now been
logged in his brain of knowing how things work. I
think that Kawhi has always had that innate sense of
(07:08):
knowing where to be and how to be and where
to get where to get to where he needs to be.
Now that may have been honed in San Antonio, may
have been at that point brought out, but as he's
continued on his career, whether it be then in Toronto
or the oft injured time with the Clippers. The one
thing that you can't deny is he knows where to
be and how to get his shots. The thirty nine
(07:30):
points last night, fifteen of nineteen shooting, Yeah.
Speaker 5 (07:34):
He started five for five. I think it took him
a while to miss his first shot.
Speaker 1 (07:37):
Yeah. Fifteen Yeah, fifteen of nineteen from the floor. That's
I mean efficient in a day and age where we're
chucking up threes and only getting layups. The eight footer
that he hits that looks like it doesn't even get
above the rim but then slides in. There is something
beautiful about watching Kawhi Leonard play basketball. Truly. There is
name another player that you think that moves around like
(07:59):
him and plays like him where he's almost in slow motion.
And so, Manzi, while you're loving the Clippers and you're
keeping your fingers crossed that he stays healthy, I'm sitting
there wondering, this is great to see, and it's even
better that it's not happening against my Bucks in the
Eastern Conference Finals. That was awesome that it wasn't happening
to me. What was great was is this now the
(08:21):
story to carry on, Meaning, do people start to rally
if this season the Clippers end up winning the series
and they go to the next round, and let's say
they knock off Oklahoma City, we expect them to play
in the next round and they get to the Eastern
Conference finals. Is there enough with Kawhi and what he's
done in his career and the ups and downs of
his career for the general public to rally around him.
Speaker 5 (08:45):
I think the answer to that is yes.
Speaker 4 (08:47):
Aside from Laker fans who probably don't want the Clippers
to win, it understood, absolutely, I get that. I do
think that basketball fans can get behind Kawhi and the
Clippers if they continue on this run. And it's because
of him the ups and downs that you just mentioned.
Speaker 5 (09:06):
But also he's so he's so mysterious. He's been in
the league how long.
Speaker 4 (09:12):
We know the health stuff, But like, he doesn't say anything,
He's never on social media. He's literal with his responses,
which are hilarious. How is your team feeling?
Speaker 5 (09:21):
I don't know. I haven't gone to the locker room.
I'm not sure. Those are his answers, which are amazing.
Speaker 4 (09:26):
Every single time after the game, he just sat there
after being the star. It's I think his personality or
what should we say, lack thereof personality also helps as
to why you might root for Kawhi.
Speaker 1 (09:38):
Yeah, I think that's I think that's fair. I think
that when you look at players that get up in age,
like now, we've had Kawhi in our lives for well
over a decade on and off, that that's why you
would rally behind him as well.
Speaker 5 (09:52):
Right, But literally, literally we don't know anything.
Speaker 4 (09:53):
I know he likes wingstop, but aside from that, I
don't know much about him because he doesn't say much.
Speaker 1 (09:57):
Yeah, like where's new balance? See what we see in
that in that commercial. By the way, watch that commercial.
Watch his crossover dribble. Yeah, and just watch how smooth
that is for the for the for the eight tenths
of a second that it's on the screen. Like you've
got you've got Tyree Smaxi, you've got Cameron Brink, You've
got other stars in there, Show Hayes in there if
(10:20):
they do the big run. But watch Kawhi do is
his crossover dribble with his enormous hands. I mean it's
like he's dribbling a ping pong but it looks so smooth,
and that's that's something that Kawhi brings and I think
that we were all reminded of that, and in a way,
when we kind of go back into the way back machine,
(10:40):
we start to think of, all, right, who can we
root for. I think that Steph Curry is at a point,
even with the title just a few years ago, that
people wouldn't mind seeing Steph Curry win another title. I
don't think people wherever Kevin Durant plays next, I don't
think that people are going to rally behind Kevin Durant
and say, oh, I want Katie to get that one
last run. I don't think that that's the case. To
(11:00):
think there's a select group of players and athletes in
a wide range of sports that you start to rally
behind because of maybe they're getting a little long in
the tooth, maybe this could be the last hurrah. Maybe
you as a fan want to live the way that
you felt six, eight, ten years ago in them putting
forth that effort on the court allows you to feel
(11:21):
that way. And so I wondered last night, if the
Clippers go on a run, does Kawhi rally the masses?
And now Kawhi becomes the story of the NBA playoffs
When people are sick of Lebron and the Lakers. Maybe
they don't want Steph. You're a Celtics hater, maybe you're
over that. You're maybe not connected to Oklahoma City or Cleveland.
(11:42):
Does Kawhi Leonard Garner up enough love to push him
through and gather that love throughout a playoff run?
Speaker 5 (11:50):
I really think he does. And it's kind of what
you just said.
Speaker 4 (11:53):
He's been in front of our screens for so many
years that there's history to it. Maybe you are not
behind OKAC because there's not a lot of history with
that team.
Speaker 5 (12:03):
It's a young, fresh team.
Speaker 4 (12:04):
Right With Kawhi, there's history and if you've been following him,
you kind of do maybe feel like one last hurrah
and to bring it to another franchise that has never won.
Listen like this, if he manages to get I don't
even I'm not even you know, obviously I want them
to win.
Speaker 5 (12:21):
But let's say he just gets the Clippers to the finals.
Let's just say, but they don't win.
Speaker 4 (12:25):
Kawhi doing that to a franchise that has never been
to the finals. Adding what he did with Toronto it's
there's so there's his story just gets even bigger when
I hate that we don't talk about Kawhi already the
way we should, because who has done that? Who has
been traded to a team and hand to them their
first championship in mid season?
Speaker 5 (12:45):
Who has done that?
Speaker 1 (12:46):
Yes, he's a key.
Speaker 5 (12:49):
Absolutely, he didn't have to leave.
Speaker 4 (12:51):
He could have been taking care for the rest of
his life in Toronto, and obviously he did not want to.
Speaker 5 (12:56):
That's not what he wanted. And they don't hold him.
They don't. They're not mad at him for that.
Speaker 6 (12:59):
You know.
Speaker 5 (13:00):
It's it's like he what he has already.
Speaker 4 (13:02):
Done sometimes falls through the cracks because of the history
that he has with his health, when in reality, we
should be talking about his legacy, maybe reaching a legacy
like Steph Curry or a legacy like Lebron, especially if
he takes the Clippers to the finals.
Speaker 1 (13:17):
Jason Stewart is our executive producer here at Fox Sports Radio.
What's happened in Jason.
Speaker 7 (13:22):
I think that there's a you guys, tell me if
I'm wrong on those. Okay, the narrative around Kawhi over
the past, I mean, even in his last couple of
years with the Spurs, he was always vague about his injuries.
He's never fourth right, So let everybody a chance to
guess what was wrong or if he's faking it or
he's the injury prone?
Speaker 1 (13:41):
Is he weak?
Speaker 7 (13:42):
And I think this reputation has kind of carried him
through the Clipper years as well. We kind of forget
about that raptor saying where he was fully healthy. Is
that I think the reason why you ask uh if
this is something we're going to rally behind because he
has he's kind of overcoming a reputation. A lot of
it's brought on by himself because he just isn't, to
(14:04):
Monsei's point, communicative. But is that kind of what it
is that he's coming back from something? Is that the
nature of the of the question.
Speaker 1 (14:12):
I think that there's a point where Kawhi has not
we have not been overexposed, and it maybe because of
the injury to it. Like I just think that someone
I mean again, like it's not to say that Steph
Curry isn't overexposed, but he plays such a fun style
of basketball. Yeah, like like you don't like I do
(14:32):
think that Lebron obviously can be overexposed and there's just
way too much Lebron, But Lebron's completely different in all
of that. Like, in a way, I think that Kevin
Durant's movement here and there and wanting out like for
his even though Kawhi wanted out of San Antonio and
only left Toronto after one year, I don't think that
we necessarily hold that against him. And it's just the
fact that he just seems to be about basketball seems
(14:55):
that way. Absolutely. It may not be in reality, but
from what is conveyed to us, it sure seems like it.
And I think that he does have the possibility to
cross over and be that transcendent player of this playoffs
if they're able to go on a run, because I
do think some people remember, not that people are wrapped
(15:15):
up in the Spurs, but how you emerge from San
Antonio Finals, MVP, all of that, and then you remember
twenty nineteen and the mancis point about him being on
a Clippers team. Just like I mean, I'm a Bucks fan.
It's not like I can hate the Raptors. Like I'm
more annoyed with Philly or Indiana now and Boston than
I would ever be with Toronto and Toronto into the
(15:37):
Bucks dream in twenty nineteen with the winning four games
in the Eastern Conference Finals. So I think that plays
a role in some of this, and it's not I
don't think it's exclusive. You know, in certain other sports
as well. I think there's just like a player or
two that you think of and you think of, that's
who I want to win, or I would totally root
for that person.
Speaker 4 (15:56):
Yeah, and I think you're onto something, Jason, But I
just don't think that's people are talking about. At one point,
that was what people were talking about how he handled
the situation in San Antonio, And I remember Greg Popovich
in an interview, they were like, we cleared him, talk
to him, like there was some things that were said
that kind of left a bad taste in your mouth.
Is Kawhi really injured or is he not? I remember
(16:19):
that being a topic of conversation. But I feel like
because he's not overexposed, like Dan just said, people have
kind of forgotten that a little bit and now it's
just like, oh, he hasn't been healthy, his knees have
given out, and at the start of the season again,
been watching Clipper games my All Live guys.
Speaker 5 (16:34):
At the start of the.
Speaker 4 (16:34):
Season, he lost weight and he was not good in
his first games back for the Clippers.
Speaker 5 (16:40):
I think I mentioned it too. He seemed like he.
Speaker 4 (16:42):
Didn't know how to handle his new body, Like I
felt like he kept getting pushed around when he went
into the paint and it was not good. I mean,
Bo Benson told me he's washed, and I was like,
don't say that. But he did not look good when
he first came back this season. Then all of a
sudden he figured it out again, Like it was. It
was a moment where I thought, I don't I don't
(17:02):
know if Kawhi can come back to be Kawhi Man.
He's definitely back.
Speaker 1 (17:07):
And for someone like Kawhi, I mean, when this is
our our knock on the NBA, but to be locked
in for eighty two games when you're in we use
it against players all the time, maybe that's a fault.
It's also why I'm like, I'm not gonna lose any weight.
We're just going to keep it as it is, because
maybe you're just not yourself. It's a different way to wait,
different way to look at things. No, with Kawhi, it's
(17:29):
been it's been an amazing night last night. It's been
quite the turnaround, and he has you believing, and I
think that that is that is something that's unique. I
actually and this is what I want to want to
hear from the listener eight seven seven nine nine one
Fox eight seven seven nine one six sixty three sixty nine.
The player that you would root for. And I draw
(17:53):
comparisons to Rory McElroy because just of recently what happened,
you know, not days ago in AUGUSTA him most everybody
except Jason Stewart wanting Rory McElroy to win the Green Jacket,
and Jason was rooting against him just for content to
talk about on the shows, but everybody rallied around him.
(18:14):
I think, you know, in the Gulf world obviously Tiger
Woods in twenty nineteen, but there are other stories around
as crazy as it is, and this was, I mean,
we figure that Barry Bonds was probably on something, but
it was before everything. I wanted Bonds to win a
World Series in two thousand and two. I did not
want the Angels to win that series. I wanted the
Giants to win because I just felt Bonds was the
(18:37):
best player that we had seen and every time he
came to the plate, it was something to watch and
he put on a show. And I feel like, not
that Barry Bonds and Kawhi Leonard are similar, but Bond
stayed pretty loyal, just played for two teams, and that
there was something about that. Kawhi has already got the titles,
but still to maybe take yourself back to the Spurs
(18:59):
days or take yourself back to twenty nineteen. I think
there's the possibility of we having that emotion and rallying
behind Kawhi and have Kawhi be the guy in the playoffs.
Speaker 5 (19:10):
Guys, we're going to the finals.
Speaker 1 (19:11):
I got so that's one one and a four or
five series matchup. That's all. That's all good.
Speaker 5 (19:17):
I know, I know, I just you know, I gotta believe, right,
I gotta believe. I can't. I can't. I can't be pessimistic.
I gotta be full on, full on in.
Speaker 1 (19:24):
And I'm full on it. If I'll say this, if
the Clippers face the Warriors in the Western Conference Final
and have to be a lot of upsets along the way,
it would be a Steph Curry story. App it would
not be about people rallying around Kawhi. But if it's
the Lakers, or if it's the Rockets, even if it's
the Timberwolves coming from the bottom half of the bracket,
(19:46):
if the Clippers play them, I think, and Kawhi continues
to play at this level, I'm not going to hold
them to fifteen of nineteen from the floor every single
game of the playoffs. That's darn impressive. But you get
thirty nine, you get thirty two, you do what he's
done in hitting cl shots. I think that it has
the possibility to allow that. And maybe what's even most
impressive is for James Harden, who's been so polarizing. I
(20:09):
don't think anybody would want to cheer for James Harden,
but I think that that would be forgotten and you
would be cheering for Kawhi in that fashion.
Speaker 4 (20:17):
And I even think he's at least for Clipper fans.
I even think James Harden has slightly changed people's opinions
because of what he has come and done with the Clippers.
Speaker 1 (20:31):
I don't know if he's changed people's opinions. I just
don't know if they've paid any mind to him. And
maybe he's had a great season and to your point,
like he kept them afloat at times.
Speaker 5 (20:39):
When without Kawhi.
Speaker 1 (20:41):
Yeah, yeah, when they needed somebody and so he had
been great for them. But I don't think that changes
the public's opinion on James Harden.
Speaker 4 (20:49):
But if you've paid it, if you've watched the season
this year with James Harden, remember when he came to
the Clippers, He's like, I am the system and.
Speaker 5 (20:57):
People were like, oh, even me. When I say people,
I mean me, I was.
Speaker 4 (21:00):
I was critical of him for saying that he really
has come in and made Aviza Zubats the best version
of himself, and he has adjusted to the system that
is the Clippers.
Speaker 5 (21:12):
It's it's not necessarily him, it's not his team. He's
you know, he's taking it. I feel like a step back.

know Does Kawhi leonard qualify for. That it's a very
exclusive CLUB i agree to get and you can't say
everybody because it's not one hundred but ninety nine percent
of the people on the same. Page AND i think
(23:26):
The rory McElroy win at The masters last week was
an instance where ninety eight to ninety nine percent of
the people Wanted rory McElroy to win that.
Speaker 4 (23:34):
Day absolutely with the pictures one of them taken By,
yeah all of those pictures are evident that, yes most,
people aside from Maybe jason were rooting For rory.
Speaker 1 (23:46):
MACKELA i think If Ken Griffy junior was playing baseball
and was able to make a, run everybody else would
rally behind. Him we've gotten some good responses On Blue Sky, Gampire,
yes also ON x At Dan byer On fox or
At Manzy, bolanos and you can call us as. Well
eight seven seven nine nine six six three six Nine
(24:08):
for your, suggestion what, athlete coach or team out there
could you see everybody rallying behind in a playoff championship? Run?
Isaac before you, go is there anybody that you see
in the sporting world that we could see get behind
for a for a championship run at any?
Speaker 7 (24:27):
Level besides?
Speaker 2 (24:28):
Me honestly, no you KNOW i did think of it
though in more historical, contexts although it never. HAPPENED i
think there was a big feeling For Carl malone in
the late nineties and around the same time it actually
wound up happening. Twice But John elway with The Denver.
Speaker 1 (24:45):
Broncos, YES i remember The lway. RUN i think it's
been different With. Malone there have been some stuff popping
up in The, yeah.
Speaker 4 (24:52):
Maybe John stockton would BE i know my dad would
have loved to have Watched John stockton win a.
Speaker 1 (24:57):
Championship you, think oh so, close oh so, close but
running Into Michael jordan and, yeah those.
Speaker 5 (25:03):
Bulls that was like one of my dad's favorite.
Speaker 1 (25:04):
Players i'll give you one in the basketball. World he's
won a, title and now with the changing, LANDSCAPE i
think If Michigan state was in a championship game Tom,
izzo people cheering for Tom, IZZO i think they would
want to see, that especially with nil being what it,
is no idea how Long izzo's going to. REMAIN i
(25:27):
mean his name is synonymous With final four, runs but
still just as the one, title which was in two,
thousand so twenty five years. AGO i think that would
be a name that a lot of, people maybe not
throughout the tournament because everybody's cheering for their, brackets but
when it came down to, it if it was a
championship game or A final four and you didn't have
a team in The final four that you're rooted, FOR
(25:48):
i think people would root for Tom. IZZO i think you're.
Speaker 5 (25:50):
Right that makes it's kind of like The rory McElroy.
Speaker 4 (25:52):
Situation just so long since he won his Last major
and it was, like to complete the cycle.
Speaker 5 (25:57):
Is all they called The, Majors.
Speaker 1 (25:58):
Grand, slam the Grand i'm thank, You, career.
Speaker 5 (26:01):
If you're A Grand. Slam, Yeah i'm With. MIKE i
agree with you.
Speaker 1 (26:04):
TOO i know why you were thinking Of Tom izzo
because it was a name THAT i said in the
break and IT'S i Think Mike. Trout and it's the
opposite Of izzo Because trout hasn't won anything, absolutely but
if The angel somehow made a run and he was,
(26:26):
magnificent similar to My Barry bonds, feeling and there's connection
with The angels. There trout's got off to a great
start this. Year if they would, win and everything that
he's gone through and has been with the same, TEAM
i Think Mike trout would be the name that people
would rally around in cheer four almost almost unilaterally.
Speaker 4 (26:48):
ACROSS i was going to say almost maybe even one
hundred on that, one because nobody does anyone look at
The angels as a rivalry, really, no, no.
Speaker 5 (26:57):
Right because that's what that's the.
Speaker 4 (26:58):
Ones WHEN i talked about The, clippers it was, like
Maybe laker fans don't want The clippers to, win but.
Speaker 5 (27:02):
The angels don't really aren't a threat to, anyone and SO.
Speaker 4 (27:06):
I do Think Mike trout is a great, example and
it would almost be one hundred. PERCENT i think people
would jump on that bandwagon to support.
Speaker 1 (27:14):
Him there is five Game series seven and when you
get to THE lcs and then you get to The
World series to be able to come, through, ABSOLUTELY i
think that it would draw people. In AND i don't
know if anybody else In Major League baseball at this
point that would have that sort of same cachet to do.
(27:36):
That LIKE i, mean o tani is they just. Won,
yeah he's.
Speaker 5 (27:39):
Done, yeah like he's.
Speaker 1 (27:40):
GOOD i think also that Helps trout because of The
dodgers being so big in the same city that WOULD
i think that would help his cause as being as
for the people that would not like The, dodgers be,
okay Well i'm going to cheer For Mike, trout the
other guy that gets overshadowed in that. Market.
Speaker 4 (27:56):
ABSOLUTELY i don't think there is another baseball player though
right now that would have an effect like.
Speaker 1 (28:01):
THAT i struggled to find anybody in THE, nba you
know where ELSE i, struggled AND i don't know If Jason.
Stewart if you've got one or. Not Maybe i'll let's hear,
yours Because i'll tell you then WHERE i. Struggled if
you don't hit, it.
Speaker 7 (28:15):
Maybe this is why you. Struggle i'm thinking ABOUT, nfl
And i'm thinking about three, examples AND i think the
reason why there's a struggle is because it's so overcovered
and it's so criticized that every single person has a negative.
Crowd SO i would root For Aaron. RODGERS i said
before the, season you're my. WITNESS i wanted him to
win one just to kind of put it in everyone's
(28:37):
face AFTER covid and all that. Stuff BUT i definitely
don't think he would get rally of most. People two
Names i'm gonna throw out. There one Is Dak, prescott
which kind of sounds. WEIRD i think he's. DISINGENUOUS i
don't root for the, guy BUT i think he's just
a kind of a really good guy who's had to
pay his. Dues he was not. Overdrafted and Then Kirk.
(28:59):
Cousins Wouldn't Kirk cousins get that kind of rally if
he got into a championship, game into The Super. Bowl
he's done everything the right, WAY.
Speaker 1 (29:08):
I don't think. SO i think people look At Kirk
cousins as holding teams hostage for the most amount of
money with the least. Amount that's the thing to them
make so much, money it's tough to get LIKE i
could give you The dak stuff BECAUSE i think That
dak gets overly. Criticized the problem is that it would
be all About Jerry jones and it's The, cowboys and
(29:29):
there's just there's no way that there's no way That,
america despite them Being america's, team would rally around The
cowboys as a feel good. STORY i, Actually, manzi when
you said The lions, EARLIER i wrote Down Jared goff
specifically thinking of a is it A Matthew stafford sort of. Situation,
(29:50):
Now goff's been to a Super bowl with The, rams
and obviously he's had success with The, lions but would
he break through at that? Point AND i think Your
lions one is is fair BECAUSE i wanted them to
go to the Super.
Speaker 4 (30:03):
BOWL i think most Of america was, like we want
them in the Super. Bowl we would love to see,
Them but INDIVIDUALLY i couldn't think of a. Player it's
like The lions as a, whole Including Dan.
Speaker 5 (30:13):
Campbell, yes it's that's who everybody was rooting.
Speaker 4 (30:16):
FOR i don't know about an individual, player and if it,
is maybe It's Dan.
Speaker 1 (30:21):
Campbell, yeah, YEAH I i think yes in a, way
BUT i think it's more about The lions and they're
just getting to a Super bowl like The. Bills here's
the reality about The. Bills we talked about The bills
coming close to The Kansas City. Chiefs if they go
(30:42):
to a Super, bowl they would have gone To Super
bowl fifty. Nine them losing to The eagles would have
continued the drama and the pain of. It like The
bills need to win. One The lions just have to
get to. One AND i think that what was interesting
was just you know And jason talking, about like THE,
nfl there's also this gap like When Tom, Brady Drew,
(31:03):
Brees Peyton, Manning Ben, Roethlisberger Philip rivers all, left there
wasn't a next group of quarterbacks to carry that, torch
and if they, did they burned. Bridges nobody's cheering For
Russell wilson to win a Super bowl. Again dwight's In
texas walking to the communo on Rich, dwight how you.
Speaker 8 (31:18):
Doing, yeah this might be a little bit of a,
stretch but hop Off Mark Andre. SURREY i mean What
ovenchkin did to him in that one game his last
game over, There so.
Speaker 1 (31:28):
That was pure.
Speaker 8 (31:29):
GLASS i think a lot of people really like, him
great Gold gender for a long, time AND i think
a lot of people would like to see maybe him
make another, run but it's probably as likely this this
time with The Golden knights playing so.
Speaker 1 (31:41):
Well last from the, past absolutely one of the most
notable Was Ray bork When Ray bork had to leave
The bruins then went to The. Avalanche everybody's, like Even
boston's cheering for The avalanche at that. Point, yeah there's
there's some of those in hockey as. Well all, right
there Is communo And rich here On Fox Sports. Radio

Speaker 6 (32:54):
Radio hey, GUYS i just real quick About. KAWHI i.
Speaker 5 (33:01):
Think they do have a.
Speaker 6 (33:02):
Shot, Yeah i'm not A clippers, fanatic BUT i think
they've never been. There i'd love to see them. There
you gotta let it, breathe, like let's, talk you, know
let's get to the end of at least the end
Of may or Mid. May the two suggestions.
Speaker 8 (33:19):
THAT i think would be.
Speaker 6 (33:19):
Really cool are staring right in front of us in
THE nba and the two number one Seeds cleveland without
uh you, know the super team from you, know ten years,
ago And Oklahoma, city which is kind of like this
fresh also if an organization they got dumbed.
Speaker 1 (33:35):
One, YEAH i actually thought that that's a, great great.
Speaker 4 (33:38):
Message, yeah if either of them make, it and they
play like a main stream team like The, Celtics like
IF okac plays The, celtics everyone's gonna go FOR. Okac
and if The calves go against let's say just throwing
out there like The, lakers let's say they get there
Or Golden.
Speaker 5 (33:53):
STATE i do think maybe everyone would rally behind the.
Speaker 1 (33:56):
Coups that has more to do with the. Opponent AND
i think To tony's point is the thunder of their
hearts ripped out By Kevin durant Like Oklahoma city. Did,
Now seattle has no, uh you, know sad feelings For
Oklahoma city none. Whatsoever they lost their entire, team AND
i think there are people that still look At Oklahoma
city and me like you diag The sonics. AWAY i
don't think that's a huge. Population But Kevin durant leaving
(34:19):
And lebron coming back and, winning, LIKE i don't. THINK
i think both The calves And lebron wanted to split
when he ended up. SPLITTING i don't think there was any, like,
uh you, know. Dissension you, know everything was was. FINE
i think both sides were. Good To tony's point, on
to have The calves win it this way surely would
be something to.
Speaker 4 (34:38):
Rent, really but if they both get, there then no
one's gonna have majority of the.
Speaker 5 (34:43):
Support if both of them.
Speaker 1 (34:45):
Get, there, yes if both of them get, there nobody's gonna.

Discussion how FUNNY i did mention that.
Speaker 1 (35:56):
ONE i don't want to see the forty nine ers win, anything.
Speaker 5 (35:58):
Right and that's WHAT i.
Speaker 4 (35:59):
SAID i think like for a, while maybe his first,
year maybe even the start of the next, year you
were kind of rooting for mister, irrelevant which is something he.
Speaker 5 (36:09):
Has not called.
Speaker 4 (36:09):
Anymore and that's what that was my. Point it's like
people have moved. On now you're a forty nine er
and people don't want the forty nine ers to.
Speaker 1 (36:16):
WIN i will give you. It i'll give you a
name AND i don't know if it's Gonna it's not,
like oh my, goodness how COULD i? Forget but what
About Novak djokovic in? Tennis you asked me a. SPORT
i wouldn't even tell you the sport during the break
BECAUSE i feel like he's the last one of The Federer. Nadal,
yeah And djokovic hasn't won A Grand slam event in
(36:36):
since twenty twenty. Three there's he's battling. Injuries he's, older
he's thirty seven years old. Now in the tennis, WORLD
i think If djokovic made one last, RUN i think
people would get behind.
Speaker 8 (36:51):
It.
Speaker 5 (36:52):
YEAH i feel like some is he like like that
isn't he a little bit?
Speaker 1 (36:58):
Polarizing people do not Like Kim BUT i think because
this would be the Last, hurrah that they would put that. Aside,
yes why because it would also then bring them back
to that.
Speaker 5 (37:08):
Era people would hate.
Speaker 1 (37:09):
WATCH i don't know they hate, watch but it's just,
yeah like once you, know like this is, it this is,
it of, Course, yeah once this is, over that's.
Speaker 5 (37:19):
Over, Absolutely. Yeah, yeah, okay, YEAH i get that a.
Speaker 1 (37:23):
Lot of great. Recommendations, uh thank you very much for
