(00:00):
This is Scott Becker with the Becker's Healthcare
Podcast.
This is gonna be a quick discussion of
three publicly traded healthcare companies
that took it on the chin yesterday for
different reasons.
Some of them rebounding, some today, but not
as much as they fell yesterday. Those
three
companies are Universal Health Services, which fell 10%
(00:20):
yesterday,
Tenet Healthcare that fell 9% yesterday, and Humana,
which fell 7% yesterday. And each is rebounding
a little bit today. We're talking to you
April 22. So so here's what's going on
with the three of those. Universal Health Services
is is largely getting dinged by the market
for its reliance on Medicaid patients and government
(00:42):
patients and concern that reimbursement will get hurt
there. Tenet
is getting dinged because it's got its earnings
coming out shortly, and people expect year over
year that's gonna have reduced revenues and reduced
earnings even though it might beat its most
recent revised estimates. So not in a growth
mode at all, tenet, at the current moment.
(01:04):
And finally, Humana. Humana apparently
lost an appeal on their Medicare
star rating, which is gonna cost them some
reimbursement,
and that cost their stock
to lose about 7%
yesterday.
Those are, again, just three of the quick
stories that we're following.
I personally, Scott Becker, excited to
(01:24):
interview next week. So many great health care
leaders like doctor Cliff Majarian
from University
Hospitals in Cleveland
and several others at the Becker's Health Care
annual meeting. I also get to interview the
famous football coach, Nick Saban, who had just
tremendous success at the University of Alabama and
now is broadcasting. So very much looking forward
(01:44):
to so many of these different people we
get to visit with as well as BJ
Shachnowski,
the CEO of Simpler. Thank you for listening
to the Becker's Healthcare podcast. Thank you very,
very much.
