Before Joe Zagacki was ever the voice of the Hurricanes, he was the analyst of the Hurricanes ... but he's not a former athlete who moved into the broadcast booth.  Joe's an announcer through-and-through.  He talks through how he did that job and how he eventually moved into the PxP chair.

We also talk about all things in his process, including what he reads and how that impacts his broadcasts.

Gideon Cohen went to Syracuse like many of us ... wanting to be the next great play-by-play announcer.  An internship right out of college forever changed his path, however, and Gideon is now one of the top agents in sports broadcasting.

Cohen talks about how he became an agent, how he sees broadcasting now that he's on the business side of it and what truly makes good play-by-play.

Mike Roth has been a producer and director across events like the NHL, NWSL and maybe most notably the CrossFit Games.  Rothy talks about the uniqueness of producing the CrossFit Games and discovering how to broadcast a sport on TV for the first time.  Beyond that he talks about working together as a team on broadcasts.

Matt Schumacker is the house-selling play-by-play broadcaster. Drew Carter is one of the biggest rising names in the TV play-by-play business, joining the Boston Celtics broadcast this season and calling road games for legendary Mike Gorman.

Jon Anik wasn't an MMA guy.  He was into boxing ... and that opened the door for him to become ESPN's MMA guy ... and that opened the door to broadcasting play-by-play for Bellator ... which eventually led to a job with UFC in 2011.  Anik is now the lead voice of the UFC and the guest on episode 191 of PxPCast.
