Pastor Ray Bentley points out power and authority in the business world. You've seen it. How many people work for you? The one who reaches the top of the ladder gets all the other people to serve him. And the more people you have serving you, the bigger that you are. You can't get any higher than Jesus. He's seated next to God the Father and what does he do with all power and all authority?

Pastor Ray Bentley says we should intercede for others just as Jesus intercedes for us before the father. Jesus loves you, therefore he talks. Intercession means prayer. He talks to his Father about you because he loves you. When you and I grow in love, we'll start talking to God about our family and our loved ones. Love for God will bring a love for people in our lives.

In the Old Testament. Priests and their idiosyncracies would come and go. But pastor Ray Bentley says, under the New Covenant, Jesus is our priest. The beauty of the New covenant and our perfect grace Jesus. Number one, he is a man. So he resonates with us, but also he is perfect. He never has a bad day. He is always the same.

Ever wonder what God may have been thinking and giving us the law? Pastor Ray Bentley says it's God's message about an eternal truth. You guys don't understand how radical sin is. They wanted to access into God's presence. It would mean that if you were accepted into the presence of God, that your sins had been forgiven. And it also coming into the presence of the Lord would involve an exposure to the glory of his holiness.

As long as we continue to walk with him and not become sluggish, but imitating those who, through faith and patience, inherit the promises spread.

Sin separates us from God. But pastor Ray Bentley reminds us God is an expert at forgiving sin. For we know that God is gracious. God is merciful. God is long suffering. God is patient. We know that he doesn't reward us according to our iniquities. But as high as the heavens are above the earth, so are his mercies toward those who love him.

Pastor Ray Bentley points out, God is looking for conduits of blessing, not repositories, a mark of spiritual growth and maturity as being able to share biblical truth with others. It's not a personal bless me club. It's not just all about you, it is about others beginning with outside of you to God and loving him with all your heart, soul, mind and strength.

Veteran Christians should be maturing Christians. But pastor Ray Bentley says, we never reach a place where we've grown enough. There is a time in every believer's life where they go. You know, I've read the Bible, but you can reach a point where you think, you know, I kind of know it. I kind of have heard it. I've asked the questions, and now I have the answers.

We are encouraged to enter the throne room of God, and we're going to leave with the idea of bringing to God His own word and his own promises and saying, Lord, you said. And now I am coming before your throne of grace and mercy. I'm merely asking you to do that.

Pastor Ray Bentley says we need to make our study of the scriptures personal. When you do a Bible study and you hear the word and read it daily, find a promise that you are going to claim. And that's where Christianity becomes exciting, a life and personal. The Christian life can seem difficult. But pastor Ray Bentley says that's not the Lord's intention. In Jesus Christ, the gift of God to you and me is a perpetual, ongoing Sabbath of rest, of open communion with God, of fellowship, of relaxing, of not living life in my own strength, power, ability, but trusting in the Lord.

We are all looking forward to the Promised Land. But pastor Ray Bethel says the Lord has his eye on another, often unconquerable land. There's another territory that is the most valuable piece of real estate in the universe to him. It is a territory that he wants so badly. There is nothing that he will not sacrifice in order that he might possess this particular land.

Today on Maranatha radio. Pastor Ray Bentley explains why we all have a natural yearning for a relationship with God. If our hearts are made with eternity. That means you have an infinite gaping hole, and only that which is infinite itself can fill that hole. And the only thing that's infinite is God. Therefore, the more of the Lord God you fill your heart with, the more rest, peace, and fulfillment will come to your life.

Are all the benefits of being a believer stored up for us on the other side of eternity. Pastor Ray Bentley says no, there's abundant life here as well. Heaven is not merely your future destination. Heaven is something that you can taste here and now because you know what makes heaven? Heaven. What makes heaven heavenly is Jesus, wherever Jesus is.

I wonder if I speak to anyone that says, man, I need more peace. I need more rest in my soul. Pastor Ray Bentley points to where we can find real peace and rest for our souls. The harder the things go and the worse in one sense that the outside becomes and the greater the pressure becomes more and more a precious commodity clinging to the source of rest and peace Jesus Christ spread.
