We're gonna update our death pool. Mike Malega's gonna join us.
(03:27):
We've got our top list today, nineties movies, top movies
from the nineties, and it is time for smoking guns
and Dustin Fletcher is going to join us.
Speaker 2 (03:40):
If you're not familiar with smoking guns.
Speaker 1 (03:41):
It is a fun night of firefighters and police officers
competing in boxing and mma to raise money for two
great organizations that they each represent. It is got everything testosterone, funny, emotion, excitement.
(04:03):
It's an awesome night that happens at the Bok Center,
and so Dustin's gonna be in to talk about that
as we continue to be a part of it, as
they are going into their tenth year of smoking guns.
Speaker 2 (04:14):
I have a special announcement I'm gonna.
Speaker 1 (04:16):
Make today what I don't know if I should, but
I'm going to because it's a massive deal. We actually
might have two special announcements. One I think you'd have
to play them at the same time. Anyway, one of
(04:38):
them you'll see is ah and the other one you'll
be like, So, I don't know, definitely, I'm doing one
of them.
Speaker 2 (04:47):
And then there's a map.
Speaker 1 (04:50):
There's two interesting things happening with what's commencing today, and
that is one. You're gonna see music history happened starting tonight,
or at least some of you will. And it's happening
in still Water. Yeah, and after fifteen years, a band's
(05:11):
getting back together. And I just think that it is
a very cool musical event that is happening with a
cross Canadian and everybody that's playing over in still Water.
Speaker 2 (05:26):
And by the way, congratulations on the weather.
Speaker 1 (05:30):
Yeah, you couldn't ask for a better weekend. Y'all are
going on Friday night? You won the lottery? He no kidding, Saturday,
That's what I'm going. Eighty degrees. Did you buy it?
Don't worry about how I get, don't ask. Yes, I
know people. Did you get a hook up by Yeah,
of course you did. Of course I knew you were
(05:50):
going to pay them, but I would have totally. I was.
Actually my brother and I both were planning on getting tickets.
They sold out, so goddamn fans. Yeah, and then they announced,
all right, well that sold out because they were only
going to do it the one night. Well, crap, let's
add another one. Well that sold out. Crap, let's add
some more. And they sold out so fast we couldn't
(06:11):
get our hands on any So of course Maybe and
me pulled some strings and got it hooked up. So
him and I, because we're huge fans of Ragweed, are
going Saturday night. Yeah.
Speaker 2 (06:23):
I won't to know how. I don't know how you
did it.
Speaker 1 (06:24):
Oh. The other thing, as you pointed out, because I
have so many friends. I mean, I remember being in
jiu jitsu class and the guys in between roles were
trying to buy tickets because the system would be like,
you're in the queue, and we would roll and then
he'd look in the queue to see where he was
or what happened.
Speaker 2 (06:42):
And nice. I mean, I mean, listen one time.
Speaker 1 (06:49):
Don't make you gid. But is that now you're seeing
a ton of people. It's like fifteen years ago you
were these wild and crazy people that could do whatever,
and you were excited to hear about the show, so
you bought the tickets, and now you're like, oh, yeah,
I got kids, I got life, there'll be people there. Yeah,
(07:09):
And so now a lot of people are selling their
tickets yeah, which you might be ab. I don't know
if you'll get them for cheaper than face, but you
might be able to. You still can if you wanted
to go. So if you were like I couldn't get tickets,
I can't go, I don't think that's true anymore. I
think you can go and not have to worry about
buying them from a scalper. I'm sure there's somebody on
(07:31):
Facebook that you know, there's a group or something you
can probably find on Facebook, like, hey, trying to sell
these tickets. Something might have come up. Whatever, you know,
I know of like five or six people personally that
are selling their tickets. Yeah, because they can't go whatever.
Life came up sick, Yeah whatever.
Speaker 6 (07:51):
That looks like I forgot it was my kid's birthday.
Speaker 2 (07:54):
Yeah, booked out of excitement.
Speaker 1 (07:56):
D ef it. You'll be around next year, ragweed, may not.
Speaker 2 (08:00):
You may not be around next year, may not.
Speaker 6 (08:03):
I forgot I was getting married on that date, right right. Yeah,
that's how excited people were about this show.
Speaker 1 (08:09):
People, and they they sold those tickets so fast and
just it's snowballed from there. We interviewed Cody was awesome. Yeah,
he's a good solid dude. Yes. Yeah, And and and
if you see Cody Canada and the Departed at the
Canes Ballroom at a music festival, he does a lot
of Ragweed stuff. So that's the only way I've ever
been able to experience that live music right there. And Uh,
(08:33):
to be able to see the original band together doing
their original music, I think is going to be phenomenal.
There's one time that he didn't play with the Department,
was it dineback. There's one song he does it that
was a cross Canadian song that he didn't play that.
The story is he's going to play it this weekend
a lot. They'll play it every night maybe so I
don't know, but I suspect you'll see a lot of
(08:57):
smiles and emotion and again, just I think pretty awesome
his music history night happening.
Speaker 2 (09:06):
Now. Granted, maybe mainstream music.
Speaker 1 (09:10):
USA has no idea right right and doesn't get it,
but fifteen years of a band's absence that was destroying,
doing like two hundred and some odd shows a year,
sometimes three a day because they were in such high demand,
and then shocks everybody when they're like we're done. Yeah,
(09:31):
which now we know there was a little more to
it than that, but they're like we're done, and you think,
well that's it, and then out of nowhere they're getting
back together and do a banger four night set. Yeah,
that sells out. They're also I think Turnpike and Poland
as well, getting inducted into the Oklahoma Music Hall of
(09:52):
Fame this weekend, yeah, which is pretty freakin and awesome. Yeah. Well,
there's also there's it's a party all we can long,
all over still Water, right, There's going to be live
music all over town. Of course, you know, different stages
set up, so it's a festival, is what it is.
It's not all right there at Boom Pickens Stadium. Of course,
(10:14):
you know the major bands will be there, but we're
leaving at like noon on Saturday. Get there about two
o'clock in the afternoon, hang out, enjoy the festivities, and
then do the show and then come back after the show.
Speaker 2 (10:29):
You and your brother, Yeah, just you and your brother.
Speaker 1 (10:31):
Just me and my brother. Yeah, that's what I thought too.
And y'all's ladies are nice. But yeah, it's cool that
this is a special bonding thing for me and him. Yeah,
I think anyway, Yeah, are you staying the night?
Speaker 2 (10:45):
No?
Speaker 7 (10:45):
No.
Speaker 1 (10:46):
From what I've seen, most hotels and airbnbs are booked up.
I know Ragweed had a thing going on like you
can pay a certain price and they'll hook you up
with like a camp spot or a or a hotel
room and then tickets to the show. Blah blah blah.
My brother had mentioned that why don't we just stay
the night. Well, one, it's just two hours away, it's
(11:08):
not that far, okay. And two everything's booked up. You
might be able to find a spot, but it probably
be a little expensive. Somebody's text in said, lots of
people are selling tickets due to not having a place
to stay because all the hotels. I don't I don't
know if that's true. I don't know if people are like, well,
there's no hotel, so I'm selling my ticket. I'm sure
(11:29):
some are doing that unless you live like six hours away.
I could see somebody do it. Even then, you could
drive two hours to stay at exactly an hour whatever,
and it's just on the other side. Yeah, not that
far away, so it could be done. But we're not staying.
We're not gonna stay the night. It's it's just let's
get out there, let's hang out, enjoy the day, enjoy
(11:49):
the music, and then roll on back. You've obviously been
to Ocklahoma a bunch. When was the last show you
were at that was this big? Because you've been to
big concerts, ye, talking to a show that size of
that capacity of like a music festivals type sort of
thing like no or good? This popularity like no, no, no,
(12:10):
because the size of the stadium and the sheer number
of people.
Speaker 2 (12:13):
When was the last time you were to show that big?
Speaker 1 (12:15):
You know what? But I think Rocklaholma is about it
born and raised. Maybe even that's about as big as
it gets. For me. You know, did you go to Garth?
Speaker 7 (12:24):
No?
Speaker 1 (12:25):
No, no, no, no, no, no. You think I'm going
to stay up till three o'clock in the morning. Listen, listen.
Going to Garth as awesome as that is, I think
capacity was like nineteen eighteen, maybe this is over fifty thousand. Yeah,
that's a It is a different show experience, like going
to Rockahoma and seeing a festival is a different show experience. Yeah,
(12:47):
And I was curious, had you if you had ever
been to a show with fifty thousand people? Not quite
like that? I mean, yeah, rock Klahoma. You got a
bunch of people out there, fifty thousand, you know. It's
it's it's it's a lot. I've been into anything quite
like this that I could think of. No, I'm excited.
I've seen Bowling a million times, right, he's gonna be
(13:08):
playing as well. I've never seen Turnpike, you know, and
I'm like, I'm not a huge Turnpike fan. I respect
them and I like some of their music. So I'm
excited because I was a big deal when they got
back together, you know, So I'm kind of excited to
see those guys as well. And you know, with everything
good comes some bad, and I got to deal with
(13:33):
goddamn Stony LaRue live. I like Stony's music, you know,
just every time that I've seen him live. I was
so excited a couple of years back on my birthday
to see Stony at the Canes. I love it. It's fantastic.
And it was such a disappointment. Okay, well maybe maybe
that was just a bad night that happened. Sometimes God
(13:53):
take us to go see him again, same disappointment. I
was like, all right, Stony, I love you, bro, but
I ain't and go see you and shit and live
again in show concert. Yeah. Yeah, seeing a show with
that many people's a fun thing. I don't think I've
been to a show with that many people at one
in one setting. And I think I've been to over
(14:16):
five hundred concerts, and I've been plenty of music festivals.
Maybe they had a lot in one spot, but usually
music festivals are like, there's so many people here, there's
so many people there. There's so many people there, Like right,
there's pods or those little gaps or whatever, the secondary stages. Yeah,
I have everybody crammed into one one spot, you know,
(14:36):
and I don't know where I'm gonna be at. To
be honest, you.
Speaker 2 (14:38):
Don't even know what your seats aren't.
Speaker 1 (14:39):
No, She's just like, hey, they gonna be. They will
call for you, go and get them. I'm like, all right,
I got a confirmation. Uh huh, we're good. We're good,
We're good. We got everything we need to go. So
I could be I could be on the field, I
could be up in uh, you know, considered nose bleeds.
But you know what, I don't give a damn.
Speaker 6 (14:56):
Considering who they're from, they're probably good ticket.
Speaker 1 (14:58):
I don't give it. I don't give a damn where
I'm at. You know, as long as I can hear
the music and feel the vibe, that's all that matters.
Speaker 6 (15:06):
Something you feel it.
Speaker 1 (15:07):
I've had front row tickets from PR people and record
labels and friends of the band, and I've had nosebleeds
from record labels, from friends of the band. So I
don't know if there is a guarantee. Yeah, I don't care.
As long as I can get in. Again, as long
as I can get in, I'll sit on the goddamn
grass if.
Speaker 8 (15:27):
I have to.
Speaker 1 (15:28):
You know, you know how light the drillers do? You
know they got those you knows.
Speaker 2 (15:32):
Yeah, I'm fine with that.
Speaker 1 (15:34):
I'll take I'll take my cut off and put it
on the grass some my ass is and getting all
wet or whatever. You know, I'm fine. I'm fine as
long as I can be there to experience this historic event.
It definitely is going to be historic, So very cool.
All right, Listen, we got tickets to Linkolk Park, we're
gonna give away who'll be at the Bok Center on
April twenty eighth, and we got a slew of other things.
Speaker 2 (15:55):
We're gonna take a break and we'll be back.
Speaker 8 (15:57):
Tell USA, this.
Speaker 1 (15:58):
Morning show is coming right.
Speaker 7 (16:00):
Back, a big bad Morning show, Tulsa's rock station ninety KMOD.
Speaker 1 (16:24):

Mad Morning Show in ninety seventy five kmod.
Speaker 6 (16:54):
Hairstylist uses Tinder to hire hitman to kill X and
his daughter. This happened in New Joisey, where twenty six
year old Jacqueline Diorio was arrested in a Gloucester township
after she began communicating with a confidential informant to pull
(17:14):
off the double murder. So she met with this fake
hit man on Tinder, the dating app. After exchanging messages,
authority said Jacqueline and the man met at a wah
wah in Runimede on March thirty first. She exchanged several
phone calls and text messages with him between March thirty
(17:38):
first and April third. During the communication, she allegedly said
she wanted her ex boyfriend dead and revealed he was
a police officer. On April third, the informant reported the
murder for higher plot to the county prosecutor, who had
detectives call the Philly Police Department to make them and
the target aware. Prosecutors said that Jacqueline met with the
(17:58):
informant at a Dollar General store on April fourth. She
then allegedly handed over five hundred bucks in cash as
a down payment for the killings. And said she would
pay the rest in installments. After the exchange of money,
she was swarmed by officers from the Gloucester Township Police
Department Special Response Team and arrested. And during that arrest,
(18:23):
police discovered that she had a bottle of unlabeled pills
on her suspected to be el Praslam, which are used
to treat anxiety disorders and panic disorders. So she was
charged with two counts a first degree attempted murder, one
count a first degree conspiracy to commit murder, and one
(18:43):
count of third degree possession of a controlled dangerous substance.
The first degree attempted murder conviction carries a sentence of
ten to twenty years in New Jersey State prison. She
is currently being held at the Camden County Correctional Facility.
She had her first attention hearing yesterday. The Philadelphia NBC
(19:06):
affiliate reported that herner X, who was not named by police,
met when she was his barber. It's unclear when the
two started dating, but her ex revealed that he and
Jacqueline ended the relationship on March sixth, Detectives discovered that
she had filed a temporarily temporary restraining order against the
(19:30):
cop in the summer of twenty twenty four, but it
was dropped. The cop said that his home was vandalized
back in September of twenty twenty two, and it's unclear
if that incident is related to the case against Jacqueline
or the police officer not.
Speaker 2 (19:48):
You got to be pretty mad to hire a contract killer.
Speaker 1 (19:51):
I guess I get it. And though, yeah, no matter what,
you always get I don't know of a same story
where a hit man actually, you know, went through everything
was fine, nobody got Why would you, I guess you're
right even after the fact, right, I don't think you
bragg This person hired a hit man, They killed the person,
(20:14):
the hit man got the person, and then the person
that hired the hit man, you know, got caught setting whatever.
You know, you never hear about that.
Speaker 2 (20:23):
And she was twenty six, yeah, and she and he
was fifty three.
Speaker 1 (20:28):
Yeah was a cop.
Speaker 6 (20:33):
Wow?
Speaker 1 (20:34):
Wow. Twelve grand going rate man arrested after walking nicked
on the highway. No, nicked was not his dog. Comes
out of Kentucky, where deputies responded to a report of
a nicked man walking down Kentucky Highway thirty two eighty
six that sounds like a country song, does I was
(20:54):
thinking highway. That's where they found old Jane King walking
down the road. They stopped and hey, James, where are
you going? James responded, Google, get some pants. Nice. They
talked to him for a little bit. They say that
he was under the influence of a controlled substance and
(21:18):
became disorderly started repeatedly kicking the door of the cop
car while he was being taken the jail. They went
ahead charged him with indecent exposure, public intox and disorderly conduct.
Oh by the way, they also picked him up on
six outstanding warrants that he had in that county, anything
(21:40):
from from contempt of court and failure to appear another,
public intox, criminal trespassing, and possession of paraphernalia.
Speaker 2 (21:50):
I mean, when you do that, you want to get caught,
you think so?
Speaker 1 (21:54):
I think when you when you are, if you want
to be naked, I don't know if you're gonna go
to a place where there's a high probability you know
someone's gonna call the police, I guess you kind of
that makes sense what you're saying, Like, let's just say
this guy needs a place to crash for a couple
of days. Right, three hots and a cop walking naked
down the highway and getting indecent exposure and public intoxes
(22:18):
is way less of a charge than robbery, you know
what I mean? Yeah, because I you know, I could
see that somebody rob a liquor store or a gas
station just you know, I need I just gotta go
back to jail or going up and slapping a cop
or something that's doing security or patrolling the street or whatever.
So okay, I could buy that. Yeah, and you know
(22:40):
it's it's not the uh, it's not the barn, and
you're with your pregnant wife. Then you knock on the
door and they're like, yeah, sorry, you can sleep in
the barn.
Speaker 2 (22:47):
Like that's not a thing.
Speaker 1 (22:48):
I'd lie.
Speaker 6 (22:49):
If I get picked up walking down the street naked,
I'm gonna say I was mugged and they stole all
my clothes.
Speaker 1 (22:54):
Yeah, police are usually pretty good about getting to the truth. Wow,
you don't have any marks on you at all whatsoever,
and you're naked, but you were mugged. Why would they
take it clothes?
Speaker 6 (23:08):
I don't know why they took my they needed to them,
I don't know why they just wanted to see me naked.
I don't know they left me.
Speaker 2 (23:15):
Ma, you had no clothes on. They took everything.
Speaker 1 (23:17):
Yes, what they look like.
Speaker 9 (23:21):
They were.
Speaker 6 (23:21):
They were wearing masks over their faces, so I wouldn't
see them where else, recognized where else. They had on
black pants and black sweatshirts.
Speaker 1 (23:30):
Black pants and black sweatshirts and masks. Was this in
nineteen seventies New York crime movie? Yes? I don't think
criminals wear masks anymore. Maybe these were not even bank
robbers really wearing masks. They wear like something covering their face, right,
like COVID masks, yeah right, or pantyhose the sun you
(23:53):
got a panty. They had beards. They had beards. It
was he had a backwards hat and it said easy,
yeah right, I'll see you're a higher hitman and raise you.
Speaker 2 (24:07):
Prosecutor.
Speaker 1 (24:08):
Man gets more jail time after hiring hitman to kill prosecutors.
So these stories always intrigue me because how many people
do this at any one time. The FBI is investigating
over one hundred contract killing cases at any one time.
That's not to say that they solve them or don't.
That means there's suspicion of it. That's very common. I
(24:31):
didn't realize how common it was. No, and that there
are people that are contract killers out there. We think
there's like four worldwide. Yeah, no special skills. No man
that is already in jail sentenced to even more time
after trying to hire a hitman to kill the prosecutor
that originally sent him to jail. Prosecutor Jay Conklin was
(24:51):
convicted to a forty year sentence for two child sexual assaults.
Police said that two inmates told them that Conklin was
trying to get them to kill his prosecutor. Police called
Conklin acting like one of the inmates' cousins. He told
them to make it look like suicide on a recorded
phone call. Conklin was sentenced over seven years and five
(25:12):
years of supervision. I feel like you're that dumb. You
weren't really trying, You were just being passive. That doesn't
mean they wouldn't have went through with it, But you
can't just assume he would have went through with it.
He's in jail, talking on the phone, just talking smack
like maybe he should be punished, But an automatic you
(25:36):
tried to kill me is like, like, I'm not touching you.
Speaker 2 (25:39):
I'm not touching you.
Speaker 1 (25:40):
I'm not touching you.
Speaker 2 (25:41):
You were gonna Ah.
Speaker 1 (25:44):
I guess it could be attempted murder, but you're right,
I don't. He didn't physically do anything. He just talked
to somebody about it. Does agree to the amount count
as yes, I'm going to I would say no. I
would say once money is procured, Like, let's say the
guy he talks to his cousin, he just believes his
(26:06):
cousin on the prison phone, which is stupid, shouldn't be
an automatic guilty. But once he was like, started searching
around and saving his Jay money, stopped buying Rahman to
try and collect the money.
Speaker 2 (26:19):
Okay, now we're getting somewhere, right.
Speaker 1 (26:22):
I mean, once the guy agrees for a set him
out right, because he did, he's like, yeah, I'll do
it twelve whatever, twelve thousand dollars. I mean that shows intent.
You know, when when you have you know, two separate
bags weighed in your car, that's possession with intent to distribute, Right,
the evidence is there, Yeah, so he has intent to
(26:43):
kill this person just because he hasn't done it yet.
I would argue that's not equal because when you have
the amount, it's not traditionally the amount that's used for
personal consumption, so they have the evidence in hand. You
using words to me hardly constitute proof, especially in an
environment and culture where posturing is a big deal. So
(27:04):
to me, if there was enough, there's plenty of people
that get in trouble for terrorist charges because they were like, Hey,
if I could get you some fertilizer, would you blow
up the building?
Speaker 8 (27:12):
Eh?
Speaker 1 (27:12):
That sounds good. Aha, you know what I'm saying Like, Ah,
that isn't automatically they were gonna do it now if
they meet you to get you know, the delivery of fertilizer.
I'm on board with you, right, But just saying it
online is hardly mean you're that person who's gonna do it.

rabbit hole of fifty things that are fifty this? Year. Right.
Uh for, example you, know we'll take we'll take a
little trip down memory lane. Here nineteen seventy, five a
(36:50):

right by the, way guess what the average salary was
in nineteen seventy? Five when you talk about thirty three

fifty this. Year i'm, like, well that's.
Speaker 6 (39:08):
Neat is that even still around?
Speaker 1 (39:09):

stopped chewing gum in middle. SCHOOL i started smoking cigarettes
and stop chewing.

was denied.
Speaker 1 (41:42):
Because she's not really a.
Speaker 6 (41:43):
Star, maybe BUT i just Realized washington has a really
bad reputation for naming teams that they've had to always change.
Bullets scott, changed redskins got.
Speaker 1 (41:57):
Changed, okay, yeah, OKAY i guess that makes. Sense, yeah
but The wizard seem to be sticking around pretty. Good
so how long until that gets? Changed not offending, anyone, right,
right of. Course Uh, so, anyway we're gonna play a
little game is it fifty or?

it has to do with a car accident that happened
In La and so a hit and run happens on the,
highway backs up traffic and the person who caused the
accident goes on the run and the police pursue, them
(01:21:44):
and they find this person in their, underwear watering plants
in a. Backyard helicopters, like this is the. Guy he's
acting like he's a.
Speaker 2 (01:21:55):
Nobody uh. Huh please don't buy, it.
Speaker 1 (01:21:58):
Right who waters their plants in? There nothing but their.
UNDERWAY i think a lot of people. DO i think
a lot of people do stuff in their. Underwear AND
i think you'd be. SURPRISED i, guess, yeah if you've
got a privacy, fence sure why? Not and so please
don't buy. It they catch him and arrest. Him but
while this is, happening and the police, are you, know
(01:22:18):
making their positions and all. That a woman comes out
of her house and starts firing a weapon at the.
Individual Oh jesus of which the police now have to
deal with. This this is such a weird story AND
i feel like very la Very. Florida and so the
(01:22:39):
police tell her to put the weapon down. Whatever she
goes inside with her babysitter and her, child, right and
the police are, like you got to come. Out she
won't come out. Whatever she finally oh and they shoot,
her by the, way, Yes and so they shoot her
and she finally comes back. Out they get her, position,
(01:23:00):
know you, know hands out on the ground and rest.
Speaker 2 (01:23:04):
Her it's the basis For weezer's.
Speaker 1 (01:23:07):
Wife oh, no huh where was he? At and SHE'S
i don't, know and she's been charged with attempted. Murder, well,
yeah she's coming out fire guns at people at the
police with, intent but that they believe she was trying
to shoot the, suspect, Right they don't think she was
trying to the police interpret a weapon anywhere near, them
pointed in any direction as that coming at. Them no
(01:23:29):
sense even on your. Side they're just assuming you're gonna
try and shoot. Them. Yeah feels. OKAY i feel okay
with that, assumption and so she has created all these other, Problems,
like let's just back up a little, bit what do
you mean you're shooting at somebody in your. Neighborhood they're.
Speaker 2 (01:23:47):
Not they weren't on it was wasn't on her.
Speaker 1 (01:23:49):
Property, yeah, well maybe she's part of the neighborhood watch or.
Speaker 6 (01:23:55):
Like she had a police scanner and she's listening and they're, like,
yeah we have the. Suspect he's watering flowers in a.
Backyard and she's, like, OH i got my.
Speaker 2 (01:24:05):
Gun i'll Get, actually you know, What i'll buy.
Speaker 1 (01:24:07):
That i'll buy. That she heard a hit and run
and he's running through a neighborhood and she hears, it
and she she straps she wants to help help catch
the maybe protect. Her, yes citizens arrest a citizens, arrest.
(01:24:27):
DON'T i think there's a bunch of caveats too about citizens.
Arrest people think it's just some easy thing that can,
happen and, like at some point you if.
Speaker 2 (01:24:37):
You do it, wrong it's. Kidnapping just for.
Speaker 1 (01:24:39):
The, Record well you gotta say citizens. Arrest, no don't
think that, matters don't think. That but, nonetheless so like
she straps on she's gonna protect her. Domicile but if
they never come near your, property even if they're, like
they're not they're in the street or on the, sidewalk,
(01:25:01):
RIGHT i think, sidewalk you could make an argument they've
crossed your. Threshold. Right you might not, win you might not,
win BUT i think you can make an. Argument, right
it's still public. Place you, know it's the. Sidewalk the
city owns. It you, don't, Right but they had to
cross some part of your land, Too so, Sure i'm
SURE i think there's an argument. There the street is
an easy, line right to see that you have. Crossed
(01:25:24):
and if you're in the street And i'm firing at,
you that feels. Wild, yeah, yeah Does and your babysitter
in tow, yeah right by the way you have your
home and you have a. Babysitter that's a whole other.
CONVERSATION i don't want to people do it, Here. MAYAH
i know people that take their kids to daycare so
they can go. Home. Yeah but and now people are
(01:25:46):
like The weezer part is what's got everybody's, attention which
most of you didn't even Know weezer had a. Basis but, whatever,
right what's his name, Exactly Scott.
Speaker 2 (01:25:56):
Schriner, oh good Old. Scott but she wasn't.
Speaker 1 (01:26:00):
Even involved and now she's getting yoked up on attempted murder.
Charges what do you think the punishment is for attempted Murder.
Speaker 6 (01:26:07):
California attempted murder five to.
Speaker 1 (01:26:11):
Ten i'm going to say three years and one hundred
thous a dollar. Fine, oh that's. Good this says it
can result depending on the, degree it can result anywhere
from life and, yeah carries a sense of life in
prison with a possibility. Parole second. Degree it could be
(01:26:32):
five to seven or, nine depending on the. Degree this is.
Speaker 6 (01:26:37):
Going to be an interesting.
Speaker 1 (01:26:39):
Story she'll plead, out she'll eitherplete out or they'll lessen the. Charge,
yeah because but she definitely if she exited her home
with a weapon and fired it in the direction of
an individual that posed no threat to, her it is an.
Speaker 2 (01:26:58):
Accident it feels premeditated at that.
Speaker 1 (01:27:02):
Point, ah he's got a net worth of ten million.
Dollars good, lawyer get her off. Easy you know that's
not what he paid, for right. MAN i mean there
are plenty of people that are rich that have tried
to get away with, it.
Speaker 2 (01:27:19):
Right BUT i THINK i think they could definitely get
that talked.
Speaker 1 (01:27:22):
Down oh for. Sure it was just a simple. Misunderstanding you,
KNOW i was trying to help. HERE i am my.
BAD i definitely if this happens in my, Situation I'm
I'm i'm a little concerned for the safety of my. Children,
yeah that you're one out there playing, vigilante your snake
(01:27:44):
blisking all of a, sudden, right, well you, know the
nanny's taking care of the. Kids so, no the nanny
was outside with. Her when you see the, video you're,
like what's? Happening typically the nanny would be outside taking
care of, her inside taking care of the. Kids.
Speaker 2 (01:27:56):
Typical was it one of those Like i'll be right, BACK.
Speaker 1 (01:28:00):
I got, this grab my. Guy what's all this. Commotion
i'll be right. Back just stay, inside keep watching your,
stories drink your. Wine it's. Fine there's always the idea, of,
like you, know you hear somebody on your, leg you
maybe outside your, house, right and you go get your
(01:28:21):
gun and you go, investigate WHICH i think is the
wildest thing. Ever what are you going to go outside
with your? Gun you what are you? Doing anybody who
knows anything about tactical defense is you don't, advance how
you go outside and shoot him and then drag him.
Inside so but like you hold your, position you wait
for if you give up your position by, Advancing and
(01:28:45):
if you think somebody's entering your, house you want to
be in. Defense you want to keep your. Cover you
don't want to go forward and then show where you.
Are you don't know who they.
Speaker 6 (01:28:58):
Are or how many there? Are?
Speaker 1 (01:29:01):
Right what? Enough call of? Duty you, know once you
go running out in the, open you're pretty much. Toaster
you know WHAT i learned? Yesterday call of duty was
invented In. TULSA i learned the same. Thing how about? That? Yeah?
Speaker 6 (01:29:13):
Wild oh, no, right we talked about this, before did?
Speaker 1 (01:29:17):
We?
Speaker 6 (01:29:18):
YEAH i do, not BECAUSE i knew it, too so
we must have talked about.
Speaker 1 (01:29:22):
It you also Think Bob marley had seventeen different strands of,
light but, Whatever SO i don't know if that holds
a lot of.
Speaker 2 (01:29:29):
Merit, okay maybe we. Did it's, possible who.
Speaker 1 (01:29:32):
Knows but thank you if you're. Listening oh that's. COOL
i appreciate what you have brought into my, life yet
hate you all at the same. Time all, right we
got to take a. Break we'll be.
Speaker 7 (01:29:41):
Back you're listening To The Big Man Morning. Show this
Is Tulsa's morning Shown, Kim.
Speaker 1 (01:30:02):
Good, Morning It's The Big Man Morning. Show nine four
six oh kmod can also TEXT bmms and then what
you want to say to eight two nine four. Five
joining us online right now Is Mike, maliga The Tulsa. Drillers, Hello,
mike how are you are?
Speaker 8 (01:30:21):
You i'm, great good, morning good.
Speaker 2 (01:30:22):
Morning it's good to talk to.
Speaker 1 (01:30:23):
You drillers are on the road this week In arkansas
and they're back in action next week for the first
official homestand which you guys had the three games over the,
weekend which is, Awesome but that doesn't that's that's not
what We're you're really gearing up for this full week
coming up?
Speaker 8 (01:30:39):
Right oh, yeah.
Speaker 11 (01:30:40):
Absolutely then this is when we get into kind of
like the real meat of the. Schedule we'll start having
these six gamers where the drillers will be home From
tuesday Through, saturday and that starts this upcoming. Week not
to mention the fact that the weather was kind, of you,
know not our friend last, weekend so we're going to
look at this as kind of the opening, week.
Speaker 1 (01:30:57):
And two cool things, HAPPEN i, mean all nights are.
Fun but there's two things that are happening next. Week
we got the eleven Am day game On wednesday and
then a double header On. Saturday, yeah a.
Speaker 11 (01:31:09):
Split it's a split double header, Too so for those
that don't know what a split double header, is that
means there's two separate, games two separate. Admissions it's not
a single and mission double. Header so the reason we
did that is because we you, know we did not
want to have to play On. Easter it's really not
a great day to have a home. Game so we're
gonna play two games On. Saturday there'll be a one
o'clock game and a six o'clock, game and those will
(01:31:30):
both be seven inning, games so they'll be quick and
short and, sweet and hopefully we get beautiful weather that
day and it should. Be it should be a fun
day at the, ballpark starting it off On saturday with
the Biggest easter egg hunt And tulsa we got ten
Thousand easter eggs.
Speaker 8 (01:31:44):
For the kids to go get all over the, field
so they'll be kind of a fun.
Speaker 1 (01:31:47):
Event, Well i'll be there later to help stuff ten
thousand eggs BECAUSE i know that's.
Speaker 8 (01:31:50):
Kind we got them stuffed. Already so now save your, time.
Speaker 1 (01:31:53):
Buddy all, Right so they're back At actually go To
tulsadrillers dot com to get your. Tickets we'll get more
into that next. Week they'll Be Fireworks night or First
Thirsty thursday in the day baseball, game LIKE i talked.
About so go To Tulsa drillers dot. Com it's really
too early in the season to have speculation about how
good or bad a team, is but there is some
(01:32:13):
pretty promising things that are showing. Up AND i wanted
to bring one up THAT i saw THAT i thought
you would be intrigued. About and it has to do
with The. Cubs and The cubs are currently leading the walk,
rate which is kind of crazy or why does that?
Matter but that gets the guys on, base and they're
leading THE mlb with a twelve point four percent walk,
(01:32:36):
rate which walks aren't exactly the sexiest, way but it's
showing how disciplined the team.
Speaker 11 (01:32:42):
Is Right, YEAH i mean for, SURE i think if
you look back in, time a lot of The World series,
champions a, big big element to their success is getting on,
base setting the table for their power backs.
Speaker 1 (01:32:55):
In the middle of the.
Speaker 11 (01:32:56):
Lineup and you, know today we talk a lot about,
strikeouts and people do strike out at a higher, rate
but if you can get that walk rate, up it
really drives your likelihood.
Speaker 8 (01:33:06):
Of scoring more. Runs so it's it's.
Speaker 11 (01:33:08):
HUGE i remember as A yankee fan back in the
late nineties early two thousands when they were kind of
on their dynasty. Run that was the calling card to that.
Team they just put a lot of pressure on the.
Pitcher they got the pitchers pitch counts, Up they work
the counts into their favor and that it either resulted
in base hits or it resulted in getting on base
via the. Walk so, yeah that's that's a, huge huge
element on base percentage is really.
Speaker 1 (01:33:29):
Everything, yeah a little moneyball action If i'm not, Mistaken
like just getting on base can put you in a
better position to score. Runs and that is again too
early to really decide whether something's, happening but it's one
of the more interesting storylines that's developing in baseball right
now as The cubs and there and they're leading their their,
conference but other, division but that doesn't mean anything this.
(01:33:52):
Far but still that's a fun little tell that you're.
Seeing and for The, dodgers it is the benefit of
the Of Tommy edmond and him being a switch hitter
and being able to be valuable to the team later
in the.
Speaker 11 (01:34:08):
Game, Right oh, YEAH i mean for. Sure and The
dodgers really do focus on.
Speaker 1 (01:34:12):
This you.
Speaker 8 (01:34:13):
Know it's.
Speaker 11 (01:34:13):
Funny they accept swings and, misses, right and they accept.
Strikeouts they explain.
Speaker 2 (01:34:18):
That explain, That explain that a little bit for people
that don't know what that.
Speaker 11 (01:34:20):
Means, Okay so they want them swinging. Hard they want
them when they make card, contact they want the ball
going over the, fence. Right so a lot of teams
that have a lot of power that hit more home
runs will generally have higher strikeout. Percentages so sometimes it's
okay to accept the strikeout because you're just another swing,
away pretend potentially from hitting a four hundred foot home
(01:34:41):
run and driving in. Three SO i think that's the
moneyball aspect of it that The dodgers.
Speaker 8 (01:34:45):
Like and that they.
Speaker 11 (01:34:46):
Analyze they want their guys swinging. Hard they want that
what they call exit, velocity which is the speed of
the ball off of the. Bat they want that. High
the higher that, is the more home runs they're going to,
hit the more hard contact they're going to make and
hit the ball to the gaps get extra, bases so
they'll accept some strikeouts in return for more power and
larger slugging. Percentages, Right, so on base percentage is driven
(01:35:09):
by getting hits and then taking walks to get on.
Base slugging percentage is driven by hitting the ball harder
and farther and getting more extra base hits and home
runs in. Doubles so if they can combine those, two
if it comes at the expense.
Speaker 8 (01:35:23):
Of a high strikeout, rate they're totally good with.
Speaker 1 (01:35:25):
It, well and, again still too early in the season
to make any, determination but it's still pretty exciting to
see some of these storylines start to. Develop one of
them that feels about pretty, Fast AND i want to
hear what your take. Is people were all bent out
of shape about how many home runs The yankees were
hitting and how many home runs these players were hitting
with these special, bats AND i think in like the
(01:35:46):
last four, days it hasn't been that. IMPRESSIVE i, mean
they're hitting home, runs of, course but not with the
same tenacity that we saw on the first days Of Opening.
Speaker 11 (01:35:55):
Day, YEAH i, mean, yeah The yankees hit nine home
runs in a, game which is like a historic kind of.
NUMBER i think that was like the second highest total
in a single. Game so of course everybody wanted to
jump right to the idea that it was this special.
Bat it was a magic wand and they're going to
hit all these home runs because of. It it's just
a bat that's designed to put a little bit more,
punch you, know at the sweet spot of the. Bat
(01:36:16):
it doesn't mean they're going to hit a whole bunch
more home, runs but it's going to help some. Players you,
Know Aaron judge is not using one of those, bats
and he's hitting bombs like crazy like he usually. Does
SO i don't think it's some you, know some secret
special sauce that they're.
Speaker 8 (01:36:28):
Getting but it was a good.
Speaker 11 (01:36:30):
Storyline and you, know you love to see the home.
Runs and nowadays people are going to jump on the
idea there's this conspiracy that's that's the bat that's doing
all the.
Speaker 8 (01:36:39):
Work but you, know it's still the batter well.
Speaker 1 (01:36:41):
And the idea of just swinging the bat and home.
Runs people love a home. Run you guys have quite
the celebration that happens At One oakfield when The drillers
hit a home.
Speaker 2 (01:36:51):
Run fans get.
Speaker 1 (01:36:52):
Excited it is easily this one of the better things
that happened during a baseball game to get people, excited,
Right oh my.
Speaker 8 (01:36:59):
God, yeah.
Speaker 11 (01:36:59):
Absolutely it brings everybody to their. Feet you, know everybody
is excited about the home. Run you, know we've got
the twenty foot flame over our Oil Derek. Entrance that's
just absolutely lights the place up like it's a like
it's a rock, concert and, uh you, know, yeah we
celebrate those.
Speaker 8 (01:37:14):
Moments fans love to see. It there's no.
Speaker 1 (01:37:16):
QUESTION i think we also have to bring up the
incident that happened in The Dominican republic because Two Major
League baseball players and it sounds like maybe some other
family members of players were involved in that accident that
happened down. There and and The Dominican republic baseball community
is probably is it the biggest it's ever been.
Speaker 11 (01:37:34):
Nowadays, yeah, yeah it's it's, huge and it's. Growing there's
just so much talent there that they love the game of.
Baseball it's it's easily that small country's you, know prime.
Sport everybody's playing from a young young. Age teams like
The dodgers have got academies that are set up down.
There The dodgers have two teams that play in The Dominican.
League they have a whole academy down. There they probably,
(01:37:56):
have you, know seventy five or to one hundred players
that are under contract that are there that go to
school and learn how to play the game of, baseball
and then they eventually developed through the system and end
up here In tulsa on their way to The Big.
League so a lot of teams have big investments in
The Dominican it's a big.
Speaker 8 (01:38:11):
Part of their.
Speaker 11 (01:38:12):
Culture and he has a very very sad situation there
with the roof kind of collapsing in at that nightclub
and taking the lives of a couple of Former major,
leaguers Including Octavio totel who played for The, royals amongst
many other, teams but he played for The, royals one
of the closer teams to.
Speaker 1 (01:38:27):
Us, yeah And Tony blanco was one of the other,
ones and somebody who was related To Nelson. CRUZ i,
mean and, UNFORTUNATELY i think we're going to hear more
as time continues on and they start continuing with. That
but it was how important that is to the, community
and then paying respects kind of showed how far reaching baseball.
Is these guys come To america and play in The
(01:38:49):
Major League baseball, system and when you go to The
dominican people get excited to highlight players that are in
The Dominican. Republic so just a tragedy that happened for
The Dominican republic.
Speaker 2 (01:39:02):
Community all?
Speaker 6 (01:39:02):
Right?
Speaker 1 (01:39:03):
Uh and THEN i wanted to bring up To Cody bellinger.
Story are you familiar with?
Speaker 8 (01:39:06):
This m to, go go and tell ME i don't
THINK i.
Speaker 1 (01:39:09):
Am, Okay, Well Cody bellinger he has given up hot wings.
Speaker 2 (01:39:15):
What so he has sworn off.
Speaker 1 (01:39:20):
Chicken wings because apparently he decided to order some when
he was In detroit and he was watching he was
watching THE Ncaa championship game ON, tv and he got food.
Speaker 11 (01:39:32):
Poisoning, DUDE i, mean come, on that could happen to you,
know you could have been eating a.
Speaker 1 (01:39:38):
SANDWICHWICHES i JUST i THINK i have this impression that
major league athletes have somebody who decides what they eat
or kind of assist. Them and here we Got Cody,
bellinger you, know having to sit out three days because you,
know he's got bubble, guts right because he ate some you,
know bad hotel.
Speaker 2 (01:39:58):
Wings.
Speaker 11 (01:40:00):
Yeah, YEAH i think when they get backed up to
the major, leagues they're they're eating whatever the hell they,
want and the miners they kind of, eat they eat.
Speaker 8 (01:40:06):
Healthy yeah, RIGHT i knew.
Speaker 1 (01:40:10):
You'd be excited to hear about, that SO i wanted.
TO i wanted to bring it up with. YOU i
wanted to bring up one other, thing and this is
really interesting about players that Get Tommy john surgery and
the number of players that have Had Tommy john surgery
and then have to get another.
Speaker 2 (01:40:25):
One it's it is a.
Speaker 1 (01:40:26):
Wild stat sixty three percent forty starting pitchers have thrown
a one hundred plus pitches over ninety eight miles prowur
since twenty, twenty and sixty three percent of them have
Had Tommy john. Surgery so. Crazy ideally throwing that, fast
you could argue as a precursor to you probably are
going to Need Tommy john.
Speaker 11 (01:40:46):
Surgery, absolutely you could absolutely argue. THAT i don't think
there's any. Question you, know it's it's funny the teams
from a moneyball, standpoint right on the pitching, side they're
pushing for more, velocity higher you, know higher speed. Pitches you,
know that's what's going to get more swings and, misses
is going to create more, strikeouts but there's definitely a
(01:41:08):
price to. Pay and then the price to pay is,
that you, know it's like if you got a car,
right and maybe you can crank that car up to
one hundred and ten one hundred and five miles an,
hour but you try to go one hundred and twenty,
five you're probably gonna blow the motor, Right and that's
kind of like to, me that's the analogy with. Pitching
guys didn't Have Tommy john surgery when they were throwing
within themselves and not trying to max effort every single.
(01:41:31):
Pitch so that's to me the thing that's. Concerning they
try to get everything they possibly can't add every pitch
and eventually something's gonna. Snap and, yeah it's. Crazy sixty
three percent have it. TWICE i Know Dustin, may the
former driller with the crazy big red. Hair, yeah he's
had it. Twice he's one of those. GUYS i Think
Walker bueller may may have had it. Twice it's a
lot show he's had it. Twice has he REALIZED i
(01:41:53):
did not realize.
Speaker 1 (01:41:53):
That, Yeah and to, me the idea is there was
a time when you believed you must throw the ball
as hard as, possible you, Must and now it's almost
like you would see guys, go, hey but dial. Back
you don't save that pitch for when we really really
really need.
Speaker 8 (01:42:08):
It you don't need to go. That that's your gut
it the opposite, Way. Corman that's what they used to be.
Speaker 11 (01:42:12):
Like you, know they used to throw within themselves and
if their arm allowed them to throw ninety four ninety,
five that was, great and then maybe they'd rare back
and put go ninety six on one pitch to blow
that guy away in a key moment of the. Game,
nowadays ninety six is where you really have to reach
back and throw. It now they want you to throw
ninety six every, pitch so it's just. Inevitable guys are
(01:42:33):
going to get. Hurt that's why the bullpens are so
much more important than the game of Baseball. Nowadays what
they try to do is make up for it by
making the guys throw less pitches in a. Game instead
of asking a guy to throw a hundred pitches in a,
start to have him throw eighty pitches in a. Start
but if eighty, pitches throwing more than you possibly can
is still. Damaging SO i think they're figuring that out
and hopefully at one point in time we'll have a
(01:42:53):
little bit of a correction and the guys will throw
more within, themselves which will allow the hitters to take more,
advantage which means that there was four more runs and
the fans will enjoy the game even.
Speaker 2 (01:43:03):
More go out and Enjoy Drillers.
Speaker 1 (01:43:05):
Baseball they are back in action On tuesday next week
and we got a day game and a split doubleheader On.

(01:46:16):
Man Morning show's top list random, topics randomly drawn with
random rings. Results now Here's, Corbyn gimpie And lindsay with
this week's top. List this week's top list is nineties.
Movies nineties. MOVIES i will be shocked if we all
have similar. ONES i will be. Too what do you, Got?
Speaker 6 (01:46:35):
Lindsay this is a really deep. Bench there's so many
great movies from the, nineties.
Speaker 1 (01:46:43):
SO i went WITH.
Speaker 6 (01:46:46):
I tried to pick. SOMETHING i MEAN i love scary.
Movies that is my. Jam BUT i. TRIED i decided
to go with only one of these on my. LIST
i did not get to see in a movie. Theater
these were all films THAT i saw in the. Theater
so number five on my list is going to Be
(01:47:17):
sleeping with The.
Speaker 1 (01:47:18):
Enemy julia, Roberts, yes and remind me the plot of that.
Movie she is getting away from an abuse of.
Speaker 6 (01:47:27):
Husband, yes, huh and then he stalks her and tracks
her down and she goes pretty much like. Incognito she
runs away to where her mother is living in a nursing,
home and that's pretty much he knows that's where he's
gonna find, her but she changes her name and her
identity and it's very. CREEPY i like The Jennifer lopez
(01:47:51):
version better. Enough it's not a nineties.
Speaker 1 (01:47:54):
Movie But.
Speaker 6 (01:47:54):
No number four on my, List and WHEN i want
and Saw sleeping with The, enemy it was LIKE i
got to be invited to girls day out with my
mom and my, aunt my other, aunt and it was. Awesome,
Anyway number four on my, list.
Speaker 1 (01:48:12):
My, GIRL i gotta be. HONEST i thought that was
gonna be high up on the. List, Y, yeah we,
know that's one of your favorite?
Speaker 6 (01:48:18):
Movies is if it's On i'm watching. IT i know
that movie word for word and number every. Time, OH
i mean these are all like it could be, higher.
DEFINITELY i mean Even sleeping with The enemy could be,
higher like just top.
Speaker 1 (01:48:33):
Five, yeah, really but you say that's your one of
your favorite movies if not The, yeah and a number
four was a little, Shocking, OKAY i expect number, two number. One,
yeah it.
Speaker 6 (01:48:41):
Could very easily be number. Two i'm. BASED i, think,
honestly there are more of the years because that was
out in nineteen ninety, one and so Is sleeping with The.
Enemy and number three from nineteen ninety Three Jurassic.
Speaker 1 (01:48:59):
Park really. Interesting, yeah did not expect that to be
on your list at.
Speaker 6 (01:49:03):
All, really the anticipation for that movie coming out was so,
HIGH i think for so many, people not just. Me
that was one THAT i went to the theater and
me and a friend and she was much older than,
me she could, drive and she's, like do you want to?
Go none of my friends want to go see this with?
Me AND i, SAY i do. Totally and we were
(01:49:27):
so scared at the best parts and it was such
a great. Experience it was such a great film AND
i loved, it AND i think the original was absolutely
my favorite One number two BECAUSE i wanted to have
a really good scary movie on. There this is WHEN
(01:49:47):
i went and saw On christmas Eve. Day me and
my cousin were the only two people in the theater
to See. Scream.
Speaker 2 (01:49:57):
Hm, yes.
Speaker 6 (01:50:00):
And it's. LASTED i think there's been six since the first.
ONE i think there's like more than that, maybe BUT
i thought that that one was, great great on so
many levels because it talks about other scary movies in,
there and it's, like.
Speaker 1 (01:50:18):
Yeah, YEAH i felt that that was a good scary
movie because it wasn't the same storyline we were getting
with Like jason and all, that, right and they broke
the rule of like talking about these other scary movies and,
yeah it was just a breath of fresh.
Speaker 13 (01:50:32):
Air.
Speaker 2 (01:50:33):
Yeah and then it went downhill.
Speaker 6 (01:50:37):
And then number one on my, List and it is
actually the oldest film on my list of top five
AND i did not get to see it in the
theater BECAUSE i wasn't old. Enough that's Pretty. WOMAN i
will watch. That another one THAT i can word for,
word know the, soundtrack all of. It Other Julie roberts
(01:51:01):
made it to my list, twice.
Speaker 2 (01:51:04):
Okay and she's definitely a darling of nineties, movie so.
Speaker 6 (01:51:07):
Absolutely and If Steele magnolius would have been in the,
nineties it too would have been on. Here but it
was nineteen eighty.
Speaker 1 (01:51:14):
Nine we're doing top list of nineties. Movies what do
you got? Gimpe this was fun, because, LIKE i jotted
down five of, them AND i was gonna go with,
those but THEN i started digging, deeper And i'm, like holy, crap,
right you start swapping some things. Out i'm, Like i'll
just stick with these five because the first, five you,
know you think those are the first. Ones that's your, instinct,
right gotta. Be but then that all change ONCE i
(01:51:37):
started digging more So number Five. Goodfellas goodfellas is a
solid nineties. Movie i'll watch it anytime that it's. On you,
know it's just, SO i don't, know there's just something about.
Speaker 2 (01:51:51):
It it felt like a Different mafia.
Speaker 1 (01:51:52):
Movie, yeah because you get used, to you, know The
godfather in that, series and you know you've Seen, casino
which is kind of like Good, fellas but it's just.
Different you, Know radiot does a great job in that, movie,
right he made it about a person and it felt
more rather than like a family or crime syndicated what
actually the mob. Itself number four on my list Is
(01:52:15):
leon The. Professional, okay, solid solid. MOVIE I i didn't
watch that in the nineties when it was. Released it
wasn't until the early two. Thousands my Buddy josh is, like,
hey you got to check this movie. OUT i got THE.
Dvd i'll let you borrow, it AND i. DID i was, like,
this this is. Awesome this is a great. Movie it.
(01:52:36):
Is it is a fantastic. MOVIE i get creeped out
watching it because of the little. Girl, yeah well it's
not like she does anything dirty or anything in. IT i,
mean she's just he's.
Speaker 2 (01:52:49):
Obsessed.
Speaker 1 (01:52:50):
Though, yeah it was kind of a little creep. Fact
i've heard of. It, Oh natalie por was like our first. Movie,
yeah you're missing. Out it's a great. MOVIE i don't
think he looks at her a sexual kind of. WAY
i always thought of it as, like you, know he
looked at her like a, daughter maybe younger sister sort of.
Thing not a daughter or a younger Sister i'd like
to bang sort of, thing you. Know in the movie
(01:53:11):
couples retreat The guru that they're there to get wisdom For,
yes he Is lee on the professional he's a contract.
Killer yeah, yeah but he GETS i forget the. Girl
he kills the girl like the girl's. PARENTS i, forget
and then he is now he feels a responsibility to
take care of.
Speaker 6 (01:53:28):
Her, OKAY i THINK i do know the.
Speaker 1 (01:53:30):
Movie if you watched, it would be hard to.
Speaker 2 (01:53:32):
Forget there's some uncomfortable.
Speaker 1 (01:53:34):
SCENES i just remembered another one That i'm, like COULD
i swap one of these out? Last absolutely? CAN i
don't know IF i want, to THOUGH i. AM i.
AM i was going to say number, Three Natural Born.
Killers great. Movie yeah, right but as we're sitting here
(01:53:56):
and we're talking About, leon the professional bulb went off
And Boondock Saints. Man Boondock saints the first. One the
second one was kind of, whatever but the, original the
very first one where we, met WHERE i Met Norman. Ritas, Anyway,
yeah you, Know i'm, like that is solid. Movie So
(01:54:16):
i'm Putting Boondock saints number three on my. Lef, okay all,
right number. Two number two is gonna be half baked. Man,
yeah you probably guess it was going to be on
my list for, sure and it. Is there's so many
one liners that come out of that movie and it's just.
(01:54:37):
Funny you still watch it to this day and laugh
your ass.
Speaker 6 (01:54:40):
OFF i was just thinking of that movie yesterday When
corbyn did the story about the guy kicking the, horse,
right and when he kills the horse For phoenix that was.
Speaker 2 (01:54:50):
Accident, hunger little, Fellow i'm somebody's.
Speaker 1 (01:54:53):
Bitch, no, no, no Nasty, Nate, no he's An that
meeting is a good example of you think he's like
this reserved type of comedian and he is a nasty.
Community yeah, yeah, harreling, yes something.
Speaker 2 (01:55:10):
ELSE i get his, name a little, differentname but, yeah yeah.
Speaker 1 (01:55:13):
Yeah and number one on my list Is off Of.
Space off Of, space another great classic. Comedy i'll tell you, What,
BOB i work here just enough not to get. Fired
what would you say that you do around?
Speaker 2 (01:55:29):
Here Michael bolton like the singer.
Speaker 1 (01:55:34):
Do you know? Him? HI i was additt at the
crack cocaine and Now i'm here selling magazines trying to
clean up my. Life moves On channel two? Right WULD i?
Do IF i had a million dollars two chicks at?
ONCE i. Think my favorite line he, says is, like, hell, no,
MAN i. DON'T i don't THINK i do all, right
(01:55:57):
juring our top list nineties. Movies number five for, me
this movie lots of nineties music in, it just A
i don't. Know it was about The seattle scene and
the Movie singles And Matt.
Speaker 2 (01:56:14):
Dylan it's JUST i don't. Know it's a great. Movie to.
Speaker 1 (01:56:18):
ME i really love the. Movie the soundtrack might be
the best soundtrack from the. NINETIES i love that. Movie
a lot of cameos from musicians from the. Nineties Easy
number five for, me probably not everybody knows, it but
big childhood movie for. Me number, four total up and,
coming you, know coming of age. Movie everybody identified with
(01:56:41):
a ton of celebrities that nobody really knew or in this,
movie and that is dazed. Confused that movie is still.
Today you watch it and it still. Resonates it's still
it holds its, weight, Right we're, like you Watch singles
and you're, like.
Speaker 2 (01:56:57):
Okay number three the psychological part of this.
Speaker 1 (01:57:06):
Movie the next two do it for, me and this
movie also still you watch it and it feels.
Speaker 2 (01:57:15):
Like it was made about today's.
Speaker 1 (01:57:16):
Society and that is Fight Club, okay the movie where
you don't even know halfway through that he's a different,
part that it's the same.
Speaker 2 (01:57:27):
Person you don't really figure that.
Speaker 1 (01:57:28):
Out how people get wrapped up into, movements how everybody's
fighting against you and you don't even.
Speaker 2 (01:57:35):
Know it is a phenomenal.
Speaker 1 (01:57:37):
Movie number two, AGAIN i think this movie maybe special,
effects it, doesn't but the storyline still holds true, today
and that is the. Matrix that movie changed the way
people perceived. Movies were they did that, Movie you're, like
what is? Happening and then when they made the second
or was it third, one and they built a highway
(01:57:59):
for the, movie a circular highway for that car chase.
SCENE i, mean just the movie is just so good
and how it is about life and we're all just
feeding the. Matrix and then number, one historic. Movie easily
it had an impact on. Me if there was a
way to make you relate to a situation or feel
(01:58:22):
the impact of, it this movie did. It Liam neeson
is ridiculously good in. It and That's schindler's.
Speaker 2 (01:58:29):
List fun.
Speaker 1 (01:58:31):
Fact never seen that.
Speaker 2 (01:58:32):
Movie it is it might be the best movie from the.
Speaker 1 (01:58:38):
Nineties i've heard great things about. It never watched a
minute of. It if you when you watch the movie
and you just SEE i had that one or another.
One life is. BEAUTIFUL i had on, there and it's
just you feel, like oh the idea that you get
to see how really horrible it. WAS i think the
movie captures it and you feel it in your.
Speaker 2 (01:58:59):
Soul that movie is just hands down for.
Speaker 1 (01:59:04):
Me and what's funny about my list is that and
number five are nowhere in the same, universe, right but
in terms of greatness and historical and all, that it
is easily some of the best. Ones. Uh somebody text
In Fight Club, rounders which is The Matt?
Speaker 2 (01:59:21):
Damon Matt? Damon is That Matt? DAWN i don't think.
Speaker 1 (01:59:26):
So he's a pool he plays pool or, no he
plays card bade the. Men If i'm not, MISTAKEN i
may be Confusing noon Nor. Y, yeah they play poker
And Matt damon's trying to get out of it and get. Back.
Yeah john Malcol shawn Shank yeah for, Sure Green, Mile,
Uh gimpy didn't Put.
Speaker 2 (01:59:46):
Titanic. Sure Jerry. MAGUIRE i gotta be.
Speaker 1 (01:59:48):
Honest WHEN i Saw Jerry maguire WHEN i was, YOUNGER
i was, like but As i've gotten. Older that movie's so.
Speaker 6 (01:59:53):
Good, YEAH i didn't. Either but one THAT i am
regretting that putting on my list is A time To
kill With matthew McConaughey And Samuel. Jackson, YEAH i will
watch that. One and that was The John grisham book
and the movie was from ninety, Six but that is
that was such a fascinating book and.
Speaker 1 (02:00:13):
Film dumb And, dummer pulp Fiction Days, Confused True, Lies.
Speaker 6 (02:00:20):
Okay, Yeah True lies is one of those where it
was LIKE i liked it better the MORE i saw.
Speaker 1 (02:00:27):
IT i Thought True lies was just a little bit
of just too. Much you're, Like, OKAY i get. It
everything doesn't have to Have arnold being killing, people, right
but it kind of does because It's. Arnold uh and
heat definitive top five. Movie i'll agree with that statement
only on the ideology that a lot of movies had
lots of explosions and chaos and stuff like that in the,
(02:00:49):
nineties and that movie for sure did. Seven, yeah for,
Sure Fight, club Shawsh, ink The, matrix pulp fiction.
Speaker 2 (02:01:00):
This is and Then we're gonna in with this.
Speaker 1 (02:01:01):
Hook hook was. Good, ah it's, fine it's. Fine out
of all the nineties, movies, yeah, YEAH i don't know
IF i would put it in the top.
Speaker 6 (02:01:12):
Twenty we're gonna go with adventure movies like Fairy Tale.
Speaker 1 (02:01:19):
Adventure, well now you're sub genre in it out so
much that it's gonna be number. One. Sandlot, oh that
was one of my runners.
Speaker 6 (02:01:26):
UP i had that on. THERE i had written it
down maybe first this Fifth.
Speaker 1 (02:01:33):
Element men In, Black, yeah that WAS i, MEAN i
think that movie was a huge. Movie we talk about
science fiction or, storytelling lindsay that is more superior than
Hook men In.
Speaker 6 (02:01:46):
BLACK i thought we should have used that one yesterday
for the.
Speaker 1 (02:01:48):
Song All, right we gotta take a. Break when we come,

the most successful, Companies Quick, trip that has helped us
in the past couple of years bring it to where
it's at.
Speaker 1 (02:03:02):
Today so we've been very blessed through the.
Speaker 2 (02:03:04):
Years tell everybody who you brought with you.
Speaker 10 (02:03:06):
Today, yeah So i've got the vice president of nine
one to eight fully, Involved Matt, condrey and we've got
our great fight, Coordinator Daniel.
Speaker 2 (02:03:14):
Twist Daniel twist.
Speaker 10 (02:03:16):
Has been with us now since about twenty nineteen and
helping us put some of the best fights that we've
been watching here in the past couple of.
Speaker 1 (02:03:24):
Years that's a bit so when he brought this, up that,
hey we're gonna do, this and you, Know i've been
on trips and they're, like, yeah that sounds. Awesome and
then you get to call later, like so you're ready to,
Move you're ready to do. This do you remember that
day when he was, like, yeah let's do.
Speaker 14 (02:03:37):
This, Yeah it's funny whenever he brought it up the first.
Time in my, mind we're driving down the road And i'm,
thinking no way this. Happens it's no. Chance this will never.
Happen it's all a pipe. Dream and then he called and,
SAID i think the first year we formed the deal
was two thousand and, twelve so we've actually been doing
this a little bit longer than ten. Years it's been ten.
Fights we had one year we didn't do a fight
when YOUR covid got, us so it's really been twelve.
(02:04:00):
Years but the first, YEAR i think we had like three.
Months he, said let's throw a fight, together AND i was,
like not, happening, man no chance that's gonna. Happen we
can't get it together that. Quick so we put our
first ONE i think in twenty.
Speaker 1 (02:04:10):
Fourteen, well and each year it gets bigger and, bigger
and the show gets bigger and. Bigger at, first it
was let's raise money for these two great, organizations for
the police, officers The Special olympics Of, oklahoma for the,
firefighters The Oklahoma Firefighters Burn. Camp and now it's still,
that but it's a great. Show there's so much that.
(02:04:30):
HAPPENS i was telling the guys earlier that it's there's
a motion of like. Excitement there's you even might she
had a few tears when the walkouts, happen you might get.
Nervous there's just so much that happens in this one
night at The Bok center For Smoking. Guns it is
grown into a huge. SHOW i mean it's a production
event that we put. ON i mean what first started
(02:04:52):
that first nine at The expo, pavilion uh, huh where
we were LIKE i mean with our. PRODUCTION i remember
it was my brother all actually sitting up to the
stands And i'm like get them hand signals of like,
okay bring the next fighter.
Speaker 10 (02:05:04):
Out and we didn't have a guard walk you know coming.
DOWN i, mean we just had motorcycles you, know leading the.
WAY I, mean it's just crazy on on how this
thing is. Evolved so but, YEAH i mean we want
to get the community involved to see you, know it's
it's their opportunity also to you, know be with the first,
(02:05:25):
responders the police, officers the. Firefighters Now twist has brought
in the patriot, fight you, know bringing in their military
veterans in AND i mean he's doing a phenomenal job with.
It so you, know this this this whole fight has
just evolved into something that we never. Thought you, know
when we first went knocking on doors for companies and
(02:05:46):
everybody just kind of laughed at, us and it's, like,
YEAH i don't think, so you, know not wanting to
put their reputation out there on the line with us
and take a gamble on.
Speaker 2 (02:05:54):
Us and, man it's just you, know.
Speaker 10 (02:05:56):
And Quick trip was was actually there with us on
the very first. Day in a small way of, course
that in that first the first couple of. Years but
then they started to you, know, say, hey you know
what we really believe in this and what you guys are.
Doing let's let's take this thing to the next. Level
and you know they've done that with just the promotions
that we've been able to enhance on we've got other,
(02:06:18):
companies you.
Speaker 1 (02:06:19):
KNOW i mean it's.
Speaker 10 (02:06:20):
CRAZY i, mean LIKE i, say at the end of the,
Day matt and nine, TWISTS i, mean we're just a
couple of average, guys Especially matt and. NINE i mean
we grew up In Broken arrow and now here we
are today and you, know working with some of the
most successful companies and it's something that you, KNOW i
never would imagine the million years that where we would.
BE i, mean you, know the kids that we've brought
(02:06:40):
into the. World you, know my, Family matt's, Family. Twist you,
know we're putting, together you, know as you talk about a,
show we're putting together like a before the fights that
people will people will be able to, see you, know
the evolution of how this thing is.
Speaker 2 (02:06:54):
Done and you, know putting that.
Speaker 10 (02:06:56):
Together you, know you just look back AND i mean
in ten, years, EVERYTHING i, mean relationships. Built you, know
it's been a great relationship with you. Guys you guys
have been here since day one with. US i MEAN i,
remember you, know the old days at the old place
that you guys were, at and you, know coming in
and you, know and it's just to see you. Know
of course you look back and you know people we've,
(02:07:18):
lost you, know police, officers, yeah. FIREFIGHTERS i MEAN i
can Remember. Twist uh when you, know When touls is
one of one of the, best you, know got you,
know shot and killed and talking to The twist on the.
Speaker 1 (02:07:30):
Phone you.
Speaker 10 (02:07:31):
KNOW i mean that those are moments that you look,
back you get emotional about you know about, it and
you think and it's you, know so WHEN i was
helping create one of these. Videos, Man i'm just sitting
there and all these memories And i'm just, like, golly
ten years it's.
Speaker 2 (02:07:43):
Ridiculous, yeah that's.
Speaker 1 (02:07:45):
Fun.
Speaker 2 (02:07:45):
Yeah then there's a couple of ways and get.
Speaker 1 (02:07:46):
Involved you can be a sponsor and you can go

eight fully involved and get the information for, that buy.
Tickets there are floor tables sponsorship tables that you can
be a part, of and then there's general mission tickets
you can get through the Bok center. Website you can
be a fighter if you're a police officer or, fireman
(02:08:07):
and you guys take applications through the for that. Opportunity
and WHAT i noticed that's different is that twist is
the guys that and girls that, fight a lot of
them are training already and playing a. PART i, KNOW
i roll with some guys that they're, like, Oh i'm
getting ready for smoking. GUNS i want to Do that's
my goal is to do smoking. Guns quality of the
fighter has changed dramatically.
Speaker 13 (02:08:28):
Too, right, Absolutely so you know that's one of my
things THAT i look at is are you training consistently
and are you going to be able to put on a.
Show we've been blessed to be able to have a
large pool of people to pick. From NOW i can
have a large, pool and that's the easy. Part but
(02:08:52):
picking the same skill set and same weight class and
then picking a police officer and a firefighter in that
same category is the hardest.
Speaker 1 (02:09:04):
Part. Yeah so matchmaking is incredibly challenging to do with
all The besides, that THE x factors that come along with,
injuries life events that. Happen it just makes it challenging
to find good. Matches and you guys have been doing
it for ten.
Speaker 13 (02:09:19):
Years, Yeah i'm extremely. BLESSED i don't know How i'm
able to do.
Speaker 8 (02:09:25):
IT i just.
Speaker 13 (02:09:26):
AM i get to know my fighters pretty well throughout the,
years you, know and throughout the year when someone comes and,
applies you, KNOW i talk to them several, times get
to know, them AND i really dig deep AND i try.
Speaker 1 (02:09:42):
To find that, dog you, know like, hey do you want.
Speaker 13 (02:09:45):
This or N and IF i feel like they're a borderline,
person LIKE i think THAT i want to do.
Speaker 1 (02:09:51):
It, nah they're not on my. Card WHAT i love
is you think you're, LIKE i don't know who these
guys are or these girls, are and they're. Fighting you
don't you're not really invested in. Them, yeah and then
you find yourself ridiculously invested in the fight and when
moments happen and comebacks, happen and it's just an exciting
moment because for these, guys yes they get a, belt
(02:10:11):
yes they want the pride for but mostly it's their
own personal. Pride they don't want to have to go
back to the fire station or too with their fellow
officers and get razzed about. Losing oh, yeah.
Speaker 13 (02:10:22):
Yeah, uh you, know there's a lot of pride that
goes with. THAT i always say, that you, know if
you have the gumption to get in there in front
of all of your, friends, yeah oh, YEAH i mean,
seriously no one else can talk about.
Speaker 1 (02:10:40):
It.
Speaker 13 (02:10:41):
NOW i have guys THAT i know that you, Know
i'm a, fighter, right AND i, Asked, hey you want
to step in the. Ring that's a totally different.
Speaker 2 (02:10:50):
Story, yeah it.
Speaker 1 (02:10:52):
Is it's a different. Octane, yeah that things run out
when you're inside the. Cage. Absolutely. Okay so If i'm
a fireman or police officer And i'm listening AND i
want to be, involved what should we.
Speaker 13 (02:11:01):
Do, well there's a few ways that we push out
and how to get in contact with me. Obviously if
you get to Our facebook, page my phone number is
listed on. There we have pushed OUT qr codes this
year that was pretty. SUCCESSFUL A qr code was pushed
(02:11:22):
out that had our fighters put out a list of
questions and that came directly to.
Speaker 1 (02:11:29):
Me and, yeah so And matt talk about sponsors and,
like If i'm listening AND i have a business AND
i want to support this BECAUSE i think it's. Cool
there's different tiers to be, involved, Right.
Speaker 14 (02:11:40):
Yeah we have several tiers going all the way up
to quite a bit of miny do how much you
want to, spend you, know we can get you in
there at whatever. Level but most of our sponsor sponsored
at a gold. Level that's where the line's share of them.
Are of Course Quick trip and you know some of
the fire, UNIONS, ok See argonaut they do a little bit.
More Our Best bank does a little bit. More so you,
(02:12:01):
CAN i, mean you can give as much money as you.
Want we'll set you. Up you, know we've worked with
sponsors Like Quick trip that have done other. Things you,
know we'll give them extra. Tables they do more for.
Us Quick trip goes a long, ways they do a
lot of stuff for uespecially now that, relationship As dustin pointed,
out has really grown quite a, bit and so they're
they're very involved and it's great to have their.
Speaker 1 (02:12:20):
Help, yeah And, dustin let's talk about The facebook. Page
you guys have put up fights from previous. Years you're
calling it The.
Speaker 10 (02:12:27):
Vault, yeah, yeah so we wanted to do something a
little bit different leading up this, year so we're calling
The Smoking Guns, vault and it's just basically you're gonna
be able to see fights from the very first one
leading up to our present.
Speaker 2 (02:12:40):

video don't aren't excited that it's been, reposted but it's.
Okay in one of those oh, yeah he decided one

a good. Year you can do that.
