How do you say dapagliflozin? (Pronunciation Series Episode 44)

Welcome to the 44th episode of my drug pronunciation series. As we go through the alphabet from A-Z, we’re on the letter “D” for dapagliflozin.

Dapagliflozin = DAP a gli FLOE zin

• Emphasize DAP and FLOE. FLOE gets the most emphasis.

Farxiga = far-see-guh

• No syllable is emphasized per AstraZeneca Medical Information, but I tend emphasize “see.”

Practice saying both 2 drug names while you look at the written pronunciations. Looking at the written pronunciation with the syllables divided correctly helps. Practice leads to mastery.
