Geophysicist and glaciologist Professor Jason Box (https://x.com/climate_ice) joins Richard in the studio to discuss extreme weather, water security and the politics of it all. As a scientist, Dr. Box has spent 30 years in the field studying empirical data collecting quantitative metrics on ice, meltwater and other earth atmospheric measurements in Greenland, the Arctic Circle and throughout the world. Given the current fractured political climate, espousing any view, regardless of which side of the spectrum one might be positioned, can be controversial, however this episode takes a curious approach to observing conflicting stances, reexamining our preexisting models and beliefs and reassessing whether there might be potential paths forward out there. Please join us to thoughtfully consider whether today's capital decisions might be able to mitigate increasing concerns with food security, migrants, wildfires and other natural disasters.
