Molly founded the Harper Consulting Group in 2009 to support nonprofits and socially driven businesses in building sustainable, impactful programs, products and services. Excelling at dispelling fears around fundraising, sales, and helping groups develop the skills for quality relationship-based engagement practices, Molly’s passion for this work is contagious. Her career spans the public, private, and nonprofit sectors. In the public sector, Molly started in political fundraising for both rural campaigns and U.S. Senate races, eventually working for the head of the Senate Finance Committee. She has seen public funding from all angles, from securing federal dollars to managing their impact on direct services, giving her a comprehensive view of the journey from funding inception to impact. In the private sector, Molly has launched new enterprises and brought innovation to established companies, collaborating with private investors and startups to create sustainable financial models. She understands the importance of agile, resilient business models for long-term success and maintaining relevance with target audiences. For nearly 20 years, Molly has worked in the nonprofit sector to advance fundraising practices, strengthen organizational capacity, and build balanced, collaborative relationships with funders. Early in her nonprofit career, she recognized that the sector’s reliance on philanthropy alone is often unsustainable. She and her team help nonprofits evolve their financial models to be more resilient and their service models more adaptable in the face of ever-changing demands. By blending the best strategies from each sector, Molly develops hybrid business models that drive stability and growth, including guiding nonprofits in building earned income revenue streams. Harper Consulting Group embodies her extensive experience, offering tailored services to maximize nonprofits’ resources. Molly currently lives with her sweet dog in beautiful Seattle, Washington.
