This Grace for Your Race podcast delves into the exhortations of Jesus and His apostles for us to run our race and to finish well. We will look at the encouragements and the warnings, as well as related topics.
Please listen to this special message concerning the next several weeks of this podcast.
In the previous episode we saw that God made a marriage covenant with Israel. But we know that Jesus enacted a new covenant. What happened to the first? How does God, even God, get out of the first covenant?
This was part of the mystery that was kept hidden until God revealed it in the church age.
In this episode we will consider the betrothal of God to the nation Israel.
When did He do that? How? Why?
Seeing this is to begin to understand the two main themes in the Bible: the kingdom and the bride.
This is a fun episode that looks at the traditional Galilean wedding.
Understanding the Galilean wedding leads to deeper understanding of the teachings and parables of Jesus.
It also unlocks other portions of the Bible, it helps us to see events in an entirely new light, and it brings better understanding of what is God's eternal plan.
From Genesis to Revelation we can see two main threads: the kingdom and the bride. Both are in Christ.
In this introduction we will see the beginning and the end and how the beginning foretells the end .... the glorious end, which is only the beginning!
Called...Justified...Glorified!
God is for us!
Nothing can separate us from God's love.
We can defeat little satan!
God causes all things to work together for good... God foreknew... He also predestined...
These have been debated for over 1900 years, so here's another attempt.
Have you ever heard that the goal is sonship? Would that make a difference?
Creation is groaning. We are groaning. Even God is groaning.
Everything and everyone is waiting for the manifestation of the son of God!
This is our sonship, and this is our hope.
We are waiting for God's glory to be revealed in us, as described in Romans 8:18. What a day that will be!
But verse 19 tells us that creation is waiting for the same thing! "Eagerly" it says.
This ought to not only fill us with anticipation, but encourage us all the more to run our race in grace.
How will all of this turn out? What will creation enjoy once we are glorified? The Word gives us some idea!
Glory is not a place; rather it is the expression of God. And God wants to express His glory through us!
Paul mentioned glory several times in Romans 8. We look forward to that wonderful day when we will see the glory of Christ, but how much of that glory will shine out of us? Dare we take it for granted?
Paul said that we may also be glorified with Him "if indeed we suffer with Him." If we believe that we are reading God's Word, t...
We are God's children, growing into sons. We have received the Spirit of sonship, whereby we cry "Abba, Father!"
How precious this is!
How do we encourage the growth to sonship? What can hinder us?
How can we be glorified with Christ?
[Listen to the end for a special announcement]
Every day, even every hour, we chose to live by either the flesh or the Spirit. How much does it matter?
Paul wrote: if you are living according to the flesh, you are going to die
How should I take that? Does the warning really apply to me?
Let's ask the church in Sardis.
This week we look at a special feature of verses 9-11.
The divinity of the Holy Spirit and the trinity of God are brought to light in Paul's discussion of the law vs grace.
Which causes us to be born again? Law or Spirit?
Which perfects us? Law or Spirit?
Which produces God's kingdom? Law or Spirit?
Which satisfies God? Law or Spirit?
Is Christ making His home in your heart? If He is, does He do it by our keeping the law or by our abiding in His grace?
Why does Paul equate following the law to the being in the flesh? What is the different between walking according to the law and walking according to the Spirit. How is Jesus our example?
Be ready to be surprised in this episode!
Chapter 8 of Romans is a wonderful chapter. It contains many verses that mean so much to us.
This week we begin with the first two verses.
Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus....
God's glory will be expressed in His Son's kingdom.
Joy to the World!
The Lord is come.
Let EARTH receive her King!
What can we expect at the judgment seat of Christ? Will everything be milk and honey, peaches and cream? What does it mean to be ""saved, yet as through fire"?
In this Episode:
Can we really know the whole purpose of God?
If we can know it, what is it?
The apostle Paul said that he was innocent of the blood of all men because he preached the kingdom. What did he mean by that?
What responsibility do we have regarding the kingdom? Aren't we all going to heaven?
