You help make Azeroth United possible.
So forgot to mention this a couple of weeks ago, but we do have a new free patron that
joined.
I must have missed it at some points.
But Garrett W. thank you so much.
I'm so sorry I missed you earlier.
But if you want to join our Patreon, you can get there by going to patreon.com/AzerothUnited
(01:41):
We have two paid options plus a free option if you just want to join and be part of the
conversation.
So you can do that as well.
Before I get to the news, I want to do a quick rundown of what I got to do last week in a
and boy was it a busy week.
So yeah, patch 11.1 launched.
So that happened and pretty much I've been focused on getting the Demon Hunter ready
(02:03):
for raid.
That's I mean, that's honestly what I what I did.
I ran the new dungeon on normal, which was fine.
I did a plus four Ara'kara because that was the only dungeon I hadn't done on the Demon
Hunter.
So I've done all eight now on him.
And so he's essentially done for season one.
I think I ended up with like 1400 rating, whatever.
(02:25):
Yeah, that's yeah, you know, it's season one was fine.
It was fine.
I know there's a lot of complaints.
Oh, mythic plus is too hard or oh, blah, blah, blah, whatever.
And it's like the reality is it's not too hard.
There's just no ramp.
And you know, Blizzard is making it significantly easier.
(02:46):
So the people who are complaining during season one hopefully won't be complaining during
season two because if they are, I don't know.
I don't know what to tell you.
I mean, they're making it way easier.
And yeah, so anyway, so I did a plus four Arakara and we only wiped once on the last
boss, which is impressive.
(03:10):
And mostly just learning how to drive my car around undermine, you know, I've gotten pretty
good at it.
I'm doing the races.
I still can't get the races consistently at gold, but you know, it's fine.
I'm getting better at it.
Really the big thing is just going around and finding all these little quests like,
(03:35):
you know, trying to set up the wedding or, you know, you've got the apartment for rent.
There's just all these little things that give it so much life and so much energy.
And I think as far as zones go, this is probably one of the best that Blizzard has ever done.
And that includes expansion launch zones.
(03:56):
You know, the thing with I would say this is probably the best zone they've done as
far as feeling like a real place since battle for Azeroth, because both both of the Alliance
and the Horde zones felt like real places.
They felt like someone you could, you were actually going to and it was like, oh, okay,
there's people here and they're living their life and we're here to mess things up.
(04:20):
So I don't know.
I like undermine.
I feel like the initial quest line to get to undermine was a little long.
But if that's my only complaint, then I'm okay with that, because honestly, Blizzard,
I think has done a pretty good job of making sure that the player experience is just top
notch.
(04:41):
I don't know how this feels for new players coming in.
If you haven't played World of Warcraft a whole bunch, this probably feels a little
weird because especially if you started in the War Within, this is going to feel a little
odd.
Because if you don't understand that we're going to a new place and you have to do the
initial quest line, it's probably like, what are we doing?
(05:01):
Why are we doing this?
What's going on?
The storyline also ends a little abruptly, which having done it on the PTR, I know where
the story goes from here.
But we've got to wait until Tuesday to see what Rensik is able to get out of.
(05:24):
I wanted to say Maslow.
It's not Maslow.
That's the hierarchy of needs.
Gaslow, the goblin, the hierarchy of profit.
So yeah, to see what Rensik is able to convince Gaslow to do.
But yeah, the story is solid.
(05:45):
It's a great story.
And I didn't think I was going to like goblins.
I mean, when we got a Gaslow story with the launch of the War Within, I was like, goblins?
What?
No, why goblins?
It makes perfect sense.
The cinematics are great.
The story lead up is great.
All of it.
Just so good.
(06:06):
And so cheers to Blizzard.
Hats off to their development team, the art direction, the music is amazing.
All of the great music and the music changes depending on who you pick as your cartel that
you want to support for the week.
It's just a really well done zone.
(06:26):
I love it.
I'm so happy with it.
I hope that Blizzard continues to do things like this going forward.
I don't need a full fledged zone every.1 patch or every.2 patch.
But getting one like this is always a nice treat.
So well done.
I salute you, Blizzard.
I would say we haven't gotten anything this good since maybe Mechagon, probably, as far
(06:53):
as a patch zone.
Because what do we get in Shadowlands?
Korthia?
Xerath Mortis?
And then in Dragonflight, we got Xerilak Cavern and the Emerald Dream.
So yeah, this is the best thing that we've gotten since we got Mechagon and then we got
Nazjatar.
So anyway, it's a great patch.
(07:15):
The game is so much fun right now.
There's a lot to log on and do, which is something that WoW doesn't always do very well.
Sometimes you log in, you run around, do a circle and you're like, maybe I'll play an
alt or maybe I'll do something else.
If you're in that mode where you're like, I don't really have time to do a Mythic Plus
or, oh, and that's the other thing I want to mention, Delves.
The two new Delves are great, especially Side Street Sluice, fantastic Delve.
(07:42):
The excavation side is okay as far as the Delves go.
I'd probably give it like a high B or a low A tier.
Side Street Sluice is S tier.
It's so good.
I love it.
I know it's confusing to get around at first, but once you do the...
Well, okay.
I'll take that back.
I'm playing a Demon Hunter, so I can get around really easily jumping from platform to platform
(08:05):
and whatnot.
Maybe it's not quite so much fun if you're playing a warrior or a druid or a warlock
or something.
I don't know.
I'm having fun.
I'm really digging it.
So yeah, the Delves are great.
The Zone is great.
The story, the music, the art direction, the quests, everything, I'm happy with the whole
thing so far.
So props to Blizzard.
(08:27):
A plus Patch Zone.
Well done.
They should all be this good.
So all right.
That's enough of that.
We do have some news and then we've got lots to talk about for the Race to World first.
So let's get into the news and then onto the main topic.
(08:57):
In Blizzard news, so there's a couple of news items that we're going to hit really quickly
and then we'll move on.
Let's start with the Trading Post.
So the March 2025 Trading Post has launched, obviously since we're in March now.
If you didn't know that, then I suggest you consult a calendarist.
(09:18):
Yeah, so here's the thing.
It's very spring butterfly-y right now in the Trading Post.
If that's not your aesthetic, this is a terrible Trading Post.
If this is your aesthetic, this is amazing because every weapon, all the back pieces,
they've got more butterfly wings, the mounts, the outfits, all of it looks so cool for that
(09:43):
particular motif and aesthetic, which I'm not a big fan of, but I can look at it objectively
and go, this is cool.
I really like this.
There are four mounts on the Trading Post, three new ones and one returning mount.
There's a few outfits on the Trading Post, many, many weapons that are all kind of butterfly
themed.
(10:05):
There's a new skirt color, which is kind of a gray lavender-ish color, a new Prowler's
deep headgear or a Prowler's headgear and a Prowler's shoulder cape.
Overall, it's a very themed Trading Post and if this is something that you are into, then
(10:26):
great.
If it's not, that's okay.
You just save your attendees for next month.
Yeah, the Twilight Witch's attire is back.
I think this is the third time it's...
Oh no, it's the second time it's returned, first time it was on the store.
You can also get a delicate Jade Parasol, which is great if you need to be able to float.
I remember back in Dragon Flight, there were some dungeons that was considered best to...
(10:52):
Or the meta to float down.
I think it was Azure Vault.
Anyway, if you didn't have your parasol, then you'd get kicked from the group.
So it's 200 attendees.
Go ahead and grab one if you don't already have one.
Or if you're a Demon Hunter or an Invoker, you can just laugh and save your attendees.
Yeah, so that's pretty much it from the Trading Post.
(11:13):
Like I said, there's some good stuff on there.
If you like...
So if you're like me and you don't like having your weapon clip weird on your back, and you
don't mind Butterfly Wings, there's two new Butterfly Wings that actually hide your weapon.
They're 225 tenders each.
So yeah, there's that.
And like I said, there's a bunch of mounts on there.
(11:34):
So if you're just collecting mounts for the number and you're just trying to collect X
number of mounts, then go ahead and buy the Butterfly Mounts.
All right, that's...
Like I said, it's not a huge deal.
And not every Trading Post has to be the most amazing, stellar Trading Post that I've ever
witnessed.
(11:54):
And honestly, I didn't even write down the name of the Trading Post item.
It's a butterfly-themed ensemble.
I think it's Helm, Shoulders, and Waist.
It's just...
It's not for me.
So sorry, if you are really excited about this Trading Post, great.
I'm happy for you.
(12:15):
This is not my cup of tea.
And so we'll move on.
Since I mentioned it briefly last week, but it is actually live now, the new Twitch drop
for Talk the Clock or Spaniel Pet is available now until March 25th.
So check out your favorite Twitch streamer.
You got to watch four hours of stream and then you will get the little pet.
(12:38):
It's a pet like a steampunk Cocker Spaniel dog pet.
It's cute.
It's cute.
If you want to have it, go.
It's easy to get.
You can even put Twitch on in the background, just have it playing.
And you don't even have to really think about it.
If you don't know how to have your Twitch account set up for drops, you have to attach
(13:03):
your Battle.net account to your Twitch account.
It's easy to do.
You just have to follow the instructions.
I'll put them in the show notes again this week.
So that if you are unclear about that process, you can go ahead and get your free pet.
And like I said last week, it's always a good thing to do because Blizzard sometimes releases
old mounts or other cool things on the store or on the Twitch drops that you're like, wow,
(13:25):
that's really cool.
And if you don't get it because you couldn't figure out how to get your account added to
your Battle.net account, added to your Twitch account, you're going to be sad.
And it does take a little bit of time after you link the two of them together for you
to be eligible for drops.
So make sure you do it as soon as possible and you will have access to talk the clock
or spaniel.
(13:45):
Speaking of cuteness, it's the theme this month.
The Meeksy mount pack is available.
These are T bears.
I guess it's like some pandaren thing.
I don't know.
There's five mounts on the store available.
They are $65 for the pack of mounts and this is valid through April 28th.
So you have a red one, which is Meeksy T tuft, a purple one, which is Meeksy Brew Thief,
(14:11):
a gray one, which is Meeksy Softpaw, a blue one, which is Meeksy Rufflefur and an orange
one, which is Meeksy Rollingpaw.
So if you like cute looking bears that are kind of panda-ish themed, then your $65 will
be well spent on these mounts.
They are flying mounts, so if you want to be able to fly and sky ride on them and whatnot,
(14:34):
you can do that.
So yeah, check that out.
Finally on the store, we have the WoW game sales.
So this is a sale now through March 11th.
There's a few things on here that I found kind of interesting.
So the War Within is available.
All three editions of the War Within are on sale.
(14:54):
They are 40% off.
So the base edition is $29.99.
The heroic edition is $41.99, and the epic edition is $53.99.
The epic edition no longer comes with early access because that time has since passed,
but you will get all the other benefits from getting the epic edition, which includes the
boost and 30 days of game time.
(15:15):
So if that's something you're interested in, that's, I mean, a boost itself.
The boost is on sale at 33% off.
That is $40.
So for 40 bucks, you get a level 70 boost.
If you have not yet purchased the War Within, this is the way to do it because you'll get
for $53.99, you'll get a boost and 30 days of game time, which is a $15 value.
(15:39):
So just those two combined exceed the price of the epic edition.
Plus you're getting the War Within, which is so far a pretty banger expansion, I must
say.
Additional game services that are available.
War Transfer Service is 30% off at $17.50, Faction Change, Race Change, Name Change,
all that sort of thing.
(16:00):
Check out the store if you are interested in any of those things.
Like I said, if you have not yet purchased the War Within and you're unsure and you're
listening to this and you're going, down the third, please tell me, is this worth buying?
Yes, it is worth buying.
It is absolutely worth buying it.
Pay the money.
Even if you just get the base edition, it's worth it because the War Within is fantastic.
So that's my spiel.
(16:21):
I hope I sold you on it.
That's all I got.
Also it says save up to 50% on Cataclysm Classic Firey Upgrades, but it doesn't really have
any information on that.
So I don't know what that's supposed to...
It looks like it's the stuff that you got from doing the Cataclysm Classic Hero Pack
back in, I guess it was last year.
(16:43):
But it wasn't really clear.
So I don't know.
Check out the store if you are looking to buy some stuff.
Maybe if you've got some money burning a hole in your pocket and you want to spend it, go
check it out.
There's no discounts on merch or anything like that or other games, just the wow products
listed.
So, all right.
(17:04):
This week in World of Warcraft, it is the War Within Season 2, Week 1.
I don't know what the affixes are.
I'm not sure if somebody else has figured out what we're going to get for affixes this
week, but I don't know.
I do know that for 2 and 3 keystones, there is no affix.
And so the Xalatath...
(17:25):
Not Xalatath, yeah, Xalatath's Bargain affix will start at plus 4.
Fortified and Tyrannica will pick up at plus 7 and plus 10 respectively.
And then Xalatath's Guile will kick in at plus 12, which will add the new 15 second
death penalty counter.
So, affixes are much more player friendly this time around, so we'll see how it goes.
(17:48):
So this is the first week.
So if you're looking to get some Mythic Plus done, this is the week to do it because nobody
else is going to know the routes.
So if you don't know them, you won't be quite the screw up like I was in every Mythic Plus
I did this year, this season.
So this is the one.
Right.
Weekly events.
(18:08):
We've got the Battleground bonus event is up.
You will pick up the sign of Battle Buff, honor gains from Battleground objectives and
wins increased by 50%.
Pick up the quest, A Call to Battle from Argrivus for Thrun in Dornagal to win four Battleground
matches for Marks of Honor and Conquest.
It is also the Pet Battle bonus event.
So these two seem to sync up together now because we've added the Delves in.
(18:31):
So to me, that works really well.
So that's fine.
Pet Battle bonus event, you get the sign of the Critter Buff.
Pet experience increased by 10%.
You will get the quest, the very best from Argrivus for Thrun in Dornagal to defeat five
players through fine battle with a team of level 25 pets and you will be rewarded with
an ultimate battle training stone.
(18:52):
This is a terrible quest because I don't want to play players.
I want to go out into the world and fight pets or fight animals so I can tame them.
But if you're into PvP pet battles, then you can get an ultimate battle training stone.
These are also really cheap to buy.
So honestly, if you just find a pet trainer and you've got some charms lying around, you
can just pick one up pretty cheap.
The PvP brawl this week is cooking impossible.
(19:14):
Nomi is hosting a Pandaren Chili Cook-Off in the Valley of the Four Winds between the
Alliance and the Horde.
The first to bring Nomi all of the required ingredients wins.
Yeah, this one's a little different.
So yeah, your goal is to finish cooking your meal, but you can stop the opposing faction
(19:35):
from doing so or you can work on focus on your own meal.
Either way, it's an interesting one.
When you zone into the brawl, you'll get the quest something different to win a PvP brawl
and you'll be rewarded with conquest, honor, and marks of honor.
The Kalimdor Cup is continuing on this week.
It will last through March 10th.
(19:55):
Raiders of Azeroth invite Sky Raiders to compete in races throughout Kalimdor.
So you will be able to talk to, there's somebody in Dornagal, I forgot to write down their
name.
I don't know if you can talk to them for this, but yeah, go to Kalimdor, do the Sky Raiding
races, it's fun.
And finally, the Darkmoon Faire is up starting today, actually, starting tomorrow.
(20:19):
Sorry, starting tomorrow, March 2nd.
Meet Silas Darkmoon and his troop.
Play games that test mind and nerve and behold the exotic sights from the Four Corners, Azeroth,
and beyond.
You know I love the Faire.
You get your knowledge points and your skill points if you haven't maxed out your trade
skill professions.
Knowledge points are always beneficial.
Little bonus knowledge point for you.
(20:41):
You get the XP buff, which is going to be really great this week because we're working
on Cartels of Undermine rep.
So if you haven't already picked that up, make sure you pick that up before you do anything
goblin related on Sunday or Monday.
And then again, obviously for the rest of the week.
So yeah, Darkmoon Faire, go ride the merry-go-round, ride the roller coaster, get shot out of the
(21:02):
cannon, go check out the Death Metal Knights concert, fly through the rings, all that stuff.
It's a lot of fun.
I love the Darkmoon Faire.
All right.
That is all of the news for today.
I am rushing through this because there's a lot of Race to World First topic that I
want to get into and I don't want to have this episode drag on too long.
So we will just get into our main topic of the week.
(21:28):
This time for the main topic of the week.
So the Race to World First is back and we are now going through to kill Chrome King
Gallywix in the liberation of Undermine raid.
(21:50):
So very much looking forward to this one.
I wanted to talk about, so we'll go through the raid.
We're going to go through the tier sets, the bosses, what happened in the last Race to
World First for Nerebar Palace.
We'll talk about all of that stuff, but I wanted to start off by just mentioning that
(22:10):
the Race to World First is obviously a very exclusive thing.
Technically, everybody can participate in the Race to World First, whether you are a
top class raid member or if you're somebody like me who is trying really hard to get AOTC
this season, or if you're somebody who's maybe you've done a few delves and you mostly do
(22:32):
old raids and new transmog runs.
Maybe you do a couple Mythic Plus and you do some LFR.
Technically, we're all part of the Race to World First, but only the top guilds are going
to get any sort of mention in it because they're the only ones that are going to be running
Mythic and making progress on the bosses.
(22:56):
The reason that I mention this and the reason that I bring this up is because I feel like
a lot of people here Race to World First and they turn their brains off.
They go, I don't care about this elite nonsense.
Well, yes, it is a little bit of that.
I also think it's important for if we look at the Race to World First in a competition
(23:20):
standpoint, much in the same way that we look at, say, baseball.
If you think about baseball, baseball started as a game that was played by various teams.
They played each other.
Obviously, this is a little bit different because this is not player versus player.
This is player versus environment.
These teams played each other and it was more of an agreement between these teams that,
(23:44):
hey, we're going to honor the outcome of this game.
There was no league.
There was no officials.
They kind of agreed on their own rules.
Over time, it became more formalized and it became more official.
Eventually, you have the National League that was formed and then later on the American
League.
Now, they have kind of technically they aren't combined, but they are essentially combined
(24:09):
into Major League Baseball.
But the reason that I'm drawing this analogy to baseball is that baseball was the first
sport in North America to organize in this way.
Everything that came after it, football, hockey, basketball, all of these sports, they followed
the mold of baseball in order to assist them with organization.
(24:31):
There was a lot of hockey that went on before the 1900s, but it wasn't really organized
in the way it is now until after baseball became organized in this country.
Don't forget that the original six NHL teams, only two of them are Canadian, four were American
teams.
(24:53):
It's really important to think about this.
This isn't is a group of players who have agreed to kind of these rules.
Here's how we're going to do this.
We're going to we're going to try to get here first.
It's a race, but it's also a competition between each other as they're they're trying to get
(25:14):
the best players.
They're trying to figure out the best strategies.
It's not just who can go the fastest.
It's who can be the most efficient with their time.
The raid, the guilds do splits, which is they take their alts and they use their alts to
run their main players, their main characters through heroic over and over and over again.
(25:35):
So everybody will do that.
And to get the main characters, the best gear, tier sets, all of these things to give them
the best chance for success.
This is a thing that happens just like streaming has turned into the new standard for the race
to world first.
(25:55):
There are no agreements on who needs to stream.
At any point, one of these guilds could turn off their stream.
It would be bad for ratings.
And this is a money making venture for these these teams, but they don't have to.
There's no specific agreement for how this has to take place.
(26:20):
So that all being said, there are two teams in North America that were amongst the top
10.
There were three from Europe, one from Korea and four from China.
So it's a very good split amongst teams from all over the world.
The fact that we had four Chinese teams when China had just got back onto wow in the beginning
(26:47):
of the war within, they just came back to wow.
They had no wow for a year and a half.
So the fact that we're able to field four teams, I think it says a lot.
And if you think about it in terms of, OK, well, some of these players are going to go
to the better teams.
They go, well, hey, I was in this guild and we were ninth.
I want to apply to the number four guild and see if I can get in there.
(27:10):
So that's how your better players are going to funnel upwards.
And you have this apex at the top words.
You've got your liquid.
You've got your echo.
You've got your Hugo hero, which is Chinese go to came in fourth.
These are the best guilds.
And every other guild right now funnels up to these skills because there's no actual
organization for this.
There's no rules that say, hey, you you can't just grab players from another team.
(27:34):
If the if the Dodgers wanted to take one of the players from the Yankees, there would
be problems because they go, hey, wait a minute.
His guy has a contract.
Well, that doesn't really work in a race to world first environment in video game environment.
Any player can join any guild that they want, especially if you're going cross region, you
can just I'll just roll a new character.
(27:54):
So my character on the North America realm is still in liquid, but I'm going to roll
a new character on you.
And that character is going to be part of Echo.
You could do that.
There's no rules against it because there's no technical organization that is overseeing
this.
Blizzard does not oversee the race to world first.
They support it, but they do not oversee it and they do not manage it.
(28:15):
It is entirely managed by these teams.
They pay for the casters who are the broadcasters who go through and they actually are able
to give us the play by play on these fights and talk to us and inform the audience on
what's going on and why did they choose to do this thing and what are they doing now?
(28:36):
And how come they pulled this strategy?
That's what you're getting when you watch these streams.
It's not just some player playing wow and you're watching his stream.
You're actually getting a full on broadcast with people who are being paid money to do
this.
I don't know how much they're being paid, but they are actually getting paid.
They get facilities where they go and they they're able to group up as a team and live
(29:00):
together for the entire duration of the race.
So yeah, it is it is still in its infancy.
Wow is only 20 years old as we learned last year.
It's 20th anniversary.
So what does that mean for the future of the race to world first?
(29:21):
I don't know.
I think eventually we might end up seeing some sort of official wow Esports league that
would form it might not even be something that's that's managed by Blizzard.
This could be something that's entirely player driven and everybody agrees to the rules.
And so you're able to join or Blizzard could as many people have speculated in the past.
(29:42):
They could end up going the route of a tournament realm and they could say, OK, here's the here's
the tournament realm.
Here's the rules for this realm.
Here's how players need to behave.
Here's blah, blah, blah, blah, blah.
You have bylaws that everyone has to agree.
You could do all these things.
But really what it boils down to is there has to be a willingness to to be cordial with
(30:08):
each other.
Competitive.
Yes.
But this is all amongst friends.
And even if the guilds in China aren't necessarily chit chatting with the guilds in Europe, that's
OK because we're all playing this game together and everybody's trying to get there first.
They want to get that first kill.
They want to get the notoriety.
They want to get the fame.
(30:28):
The Chinese guilds have an extra incentive because they are being offered money by the
company.
And I can't think of the name of the company now.
The company that runs wow in China, they're offering basically a bounty for the first
guild to get the world first kill.
So there's a lot of incentive behind this.
And the guilds in North America and Europe, they're not just North America, North America,
(30:49):
Oceania and South America, I believe are all in one region.
So they have incentive to because they are we're looking at sponsorship money.
We're looking at at Twitch money.
We're looking at viewer money from streaming YouTube.
I mean, there's a lot at stake here.
(31:10):
So all this to say that while the race to world first is exciting, there's I think we're
watching the birth of something new and it might take a few more cycles, but it's eventually
going to hit and we're going to see the race to world first graduate into something bigger,
something more organized, something more structured with or without Blizzard's help.
(31:32):
I don't know, but it's it's not going to continue in this manner forever.
Somewhere along the way it is going to get organized.
So all right, let's talk about.
That's my little monologue of the race to world first.
OK, let's give a reminder to the listening audience at home.
The race to world first for Narobar Palace.
(31:55):
First place was Liquid.
They completed the raid on September 29th at three oh two a.m. Eastern Time with a total
of four hundred and four polls on Queen Anne's.
OK, this is important.
Liquid completed the raid the next day, September 30th at eight oh seven a.m. Eastern Time and
(32:16):
four hundred and forty nine polls.
Method completed it that same day, September 30th at 10 18 a.m.
So just over two hours later, they were just on their heels and Method only took four hundred
and twenty five polls.
So those two guilds really close.
So I'm really curious to see how that goes.
Either they'll get closer or they'll pull away.
(32:37):
I'm not sure.
Are we going to see a flip flop?
Is Method going to take over the number two spot or even grab the number one spot?
We'll have to see.
Number four and number five are both Chinese guilds.
And I'm I know a bunch of the names, but Hugo Hero was number four.
They finished on October 2nd with five hundred and forty seven polls.
(32:59):
And then we get all the way to October 8th.
So we're going to go six days afterward.
OK, six days.
And Jitang Hong with eight hundred and sixty eight polls on the bus.
Number six, Instant Dollars also on October 8th.
This is a North American guild and they took four hundred and thirty polls.
(33:21):
Z Box, which is another Chinese guild on October 9th with one thousand thirty five polls.
It's insane.
How do you do one thousand and thirty five polls on one bus?
I can't I can't even know.
I would not.
Number eight was Fat Shark.
Yes, in the EU on October 10th with four hundred and fifty four polls.
(33:42):
Number nine was End Myth with from China on October 13th with one thousand and seven polls.
And around out the top 10, we have the guild Mate from Korea on October 16th with eight
hundred and eighty polls.
So you kind of get the idea here.
These early guilds are able to do it in a much smaller number of polls.
(34:03):
But again, like I said, you have not filtered the best to the top yet, like you have in
North America.
In Europe, you have two guilds up at the top with Echo and Method.
And I guess the European play race is bigger.
I'm not really sure how that works, but they've both been really competitive with each other
the last couple of races.
(34:25):
So we'll see how that goes.
Either one of them could take it at any point, number one, or it might be liquid again.
Who knows?
Will we see a Chinese guild jump in and grab number one?
It's possible, especially if these guilds are able to recruit players up and funnel
them into one guild.
You have better players, you have more structure, more organization in the guild.
(34:47):
Remember, they just had come back to WoW recently.
And so it yeah, that was probably a lot of prep work.
They went into that and they still managed to get four guilds in the top 10.
So maybe we get three, but one of them gets the number three spot or the number two or
even the number one spot.
There's a lot of guilds that ended up on the outside looking in this time around.
(35:12):
There were no oceanic guilds that made it into the top 10, obviously.
No South American guilds.
And you know, it's tough because the race is unforgiving.
You make a mistake, you start over, you make the wrong call and you lose time.
So it's really important for these teams and these players to be managed really well, to
(35:34):
be led really well, and for the players to be super, super prepared for whatever is going
to come and for them to not get a whole bunch of sleep.
So all right, let's we'll see.
I'm going to talk about the race again next week because it's big and I want to talk about
(35:55):
it from the standpoint of where do we stand?
Where have guilds, how far have they managed to get in the raid?
There's some speculation right now that this raid might end up being easier because of
different reasons.
I have no idea.
That's all guessing.
We'll only know when we see the mythic fights, especially Galarwix, because we actually haven't
(36:17):
seen that fight yet.
There was no testing for the Galarwix fight on the PTR.
The bosses in Liberation of Undermine are Vexi and the Gear Grinders is the first boss.
Then you have four bosses that can be done in any order.
They're all outside in an instance version of the Undermine.
You have Cauldron of Carnage, Sticks Bunkjunker, Rick Reverb, and Sprocketmonger Lockenstock.
(36:43):
Once you kill all four of those, then you move inside the Galagio Hotel.
You fight the One-Armed Bandit.
You fight Muggsy, the heads of security, and then you fight Chrome King Galarwix.
What I wanted to do is I wanted to go over the first five fights.
These are all the outdoor fights in the instance version of Undermine.
(37:07):
Then next week, we'll talk about the final three bosses, which are One-Armed Bandit,
Muggsy, and Galarwix.
Let's start off with the Vexi and the Gear Grinders fight.
This is a two-phase fight.
Phase one, Vexi has a war rig like in Mad Max.
(37:30):
It's a giant tank car.
It's got protective plating on it.
On Normal, it'll have four stacks, and on Heroic, it'll have six.
Once you break all of the stacks, it will start phase two.
There's a Tank Buster mechanic, literally called Tank Buster.
You have to Taunt Swap after that.
On Heroic mode, it leaves an oil slick under the boss.
(37:52):
Call Bikers is an ability that Vexi will use to call the Gear Grinder bikers.
You have to kill them.
When you defeat them, they will abandon their bike and also throw some oil canisters to
the air.
Players can either catch the oil or it will leave an oil slick when it lands.
You have to click on the bike that they left and choose Blaze of Glory, which is number
(38:14):
one.
If you hit the boss, it will remove one stack of plating.
I believe on Mythic, you have to charge it with oil canisters.
On Heroic mode, the boss will also cast oil slick, which will randomly target players.
If you Blaze of Glory your motorcycle through an oil slick, it will scatter out of the way
and it will not hit the boss.
(38:37):
I think there's a timer on the boss for how to do this particular phase.
If you don't get it done quickly enough, the boss will enrage and wipe the raid.
Finally, there's Incendiary Fire.
It will randomly target players.
If you get targeted with it, you'll stand near an oil slick and you've got to try and
bait the fire onto the oil slick so it will burn up the oil and have that go away.
(38:59):
Phase two of the fight.
Once you've taken off all of the protective plating, you will get Mechanical Breakdown.
It is a 45 second burn phase for the boss.
There are pit mechanics that will come out, little ads.
They will attempt to cast repair on the boss.
This will decrease the amount of time you have for the burn phase.
You're going to want to interrupt CC, AOE, whatever you can do to get those guys killed
(39:21):
down quickly.
As soon as the burn phase is finished, you will go back to phase one.
The boss will get six more protective plating and you will go through the whole thing again.
That's the whole fight.
One of the super complicated fights.
The most difficult part is making sure that you do the motorcycle mechanic correctly and
get them targeted onto the boss.
(39:41):
Alright, next up we will go to Cauldron of Carnage.
This is a two boss, two phase fight.
So you have two bosses.
There is Florendo the T-Rex and Torque the Gorilla.
So this is kind of like the whole Godzilla versus King Kong thing.
You have to keep the bosses separated.
They both put out a stacking debuff that if you get both of them together, it will wipe
(40:06):
your raid.
So you're going to want to keep them separated.
I think it's like 60 yards or something.
So basically on opposite ends of the...
If you know the area, it's like the fight dome in the northern part of Undermine.
So Florendo is the T-Rex.
He will cast Blistering Spite, which is the debuff that I mentioned.
(40:27):
He will cast Scrap Bomb, which is something he will throw out.
You have to soak it.
I believe it's just a traditional soak thing.
You have to have...
The more people that soak it, the less damage that it does.
On heroic mode, it will leave behind a molten pool that you will not want to stand in.
So you're going to want to try and bait this to one part of the arena, but it's really
hard.
(40:47):
You'll end up with fire everywhere.
It's just how it goes.
Then he will also cast Blast Burn Roar Cannon, which is a giant laser that will track the
player that it targets, it randomly picks a player and it will track them.
But then once it locks into place, the player can get out of the way and everyone's going
to want to get out of the way because it will one shot you.
You want to put it away from the group and away from the scrap bombs and run like hell
(41:11):
once it locks in.
He will cast Molten Flem, which randomly targets players and it's AOE fire damage, so you're
going to want to spread out.
Eruption Stomp, which is the tank buster, deals fire damage.
Not much you can do there.
You just have to soak it.
Torque the Gorilla, he will cast Galvanized Spite, which is a debuff.
So the trick with Torque is his whole mechanic is movement based.
(41:33):
So if you move, you increase your bar.
If you stand still, you decrease your bar.
If you fill up your bar all the way, you are stunned for six seconds.
And on heroic, it will stun any players within 10 yards of you also, which sucks.
He casts Thunderdrome Salvo, which he will throw things at you that will land where you're
(41:54):
landing.
So you're going to want to kind of stutter step, not just run around in circles because
that will spread them out too much.
He will cast Lightning Bash, which is a tank buster that does nature damage.
And he casts Voltaic Image.
So he summons an image of himself and it will fix it on a player and then it will chase
them until it hits them.
And when it does, it will do nature damage to all players within 10 yards.
(42:14):
You're going to want to move out of the group when you get that.
And he will drop a pool of Lingering Electricity that silences and pacifies players when it
does make contact.
That's phase one.
For phase two, the bosses will run and fight each other in the center of the arena.
They're not actually fighting each other.
This is an RP fight, but it does do AOE raid damage.
(42:36):
And every time this phase occurs, it will do more and more damage to the player.
So you're going to want to kill the boss as quickly as you can.
You want to try and limit the number of phase twos you have to go to.
And that's the whole fight.
And then after phase two, when you go back to phase one, you're going to want to switch
sides.
So if you have the previous debuff, you're going to switch to the...
(42:59):
So if you have the fire debuff, you're going to switch to the nature, electricity side.
And you have the electricity debuff, you want to switch to the fire side.
That's it.
Simple.
All right.
Moving on, we've got Rick Reverb.
This is a really cool fight.
He will cast amplification.
So he drops one amplifier at his location.
It's like a pylon that will come landing on the ground.
(43:20):
And then there's a drone that will drop an additional one at a player location.
So it will pick a player and he drops a pylon on you there.
The pylons will slowly gain energy.
If the boss is near them, they will gain energy faster, 20 yards.
It will do raid wide damage called noise pollution.
You have to drain it and keep it towards empty.
(43:40):
You can't empty it completely.
It will continue to fill up.
So you drain it.
And if you walk away, it'll start filling up again.
And so you click on it and to channel and then it has a little circle around it.
If you step out of the circle, you'll stop channeling.
It applies a debuff called lingering voltage while you're channeling.
And on heroic, that lingering voltage will stay on the player for 45 seconds, increasing
(44:01):
the damage taken by lingering voltage.
So you need to switch out which players are doing it on heroic.
On normal, it doesn't matter.
You can just have the same player do it over and over again.
But on heroic, you're going to want to switch.
And then at full energy, he goes haywire or I'm sorry, at full energy, the pylon goes
haywire and does massive damage to the raid.
(44:22):
So it's not a complicated mechanic, but you have to pay attention to it.
And if you're doing it on heroic, then you need to make sure you assign people.
The boss will cast echoing chance.
So all amplifiers will emit a radiant echoes projectile.
This is like a wave that comes out of the pylons.
It will stack a dot on you and hit.
(44:42):
If you get hit by two stacks on heroic, you will get mind controlled by the boss.
So don't do that.
He will cast sound cannon, which targets a random player.
You just have to move out of the beam.
He will cast faulty zap, which targets a random player and it will deal nature damage to anyone
in the circle.
He will cast sonic blast, which is the tank debuff.
It does sonic damage and it's not reduced by armor.
(45:04):
I don't know what sonic damage is.
I guess it's just like it's too loud or something.
I don't know.
And it applies a stacking debuff to the tanks.
You're going to want to taunt swap.
And then finally heroic.
There will be spark blast ignition.
So the ads will toss in pyrotechnics that must be destroyed before they explode.
If you damage them, you'll get a haste speed debuff damage to pyrotechnics to get rid of
(45:27):
them.
So you get a haste and speed buff.
If you do that phase two, the boss will get sound cloud, which reduces damage taken by
99%.
He will cast blurring drop and it will emit a ring of damage.
One of the amplifiers that's up will turn blue or the ring around it will turn blue.
(45:47):
You need to go stand in that ring.
And when you do, if the wave comes to you, you will get knocked up in the air to go over
the ring.
Think like the answer act fight where you have to stand in the green ring, except this
happens automatically as long as you're standing in the blue circle around the amplifier.
So you don't want to spread the amplifiers too far around because if the one that turns
blue is the one all the way on the other side of the room, you're screwed.
(46:09):
And you need to make sure you're dodging the radiant echoes.
And then it goes back to phase one.
That's the whole fight.
So again, you know, these fights are not super complicated.
There's a lot going on.
And because of Blizzard's new technology to broadcast exactly where a we damage is going
to occur there, it makes it really clear when it's a we damage, which means that they're
(46:31):
able to put a lot more a we damage down because it's like, Hey, well, you can see it so we
can put more.
So there's that.
All right.
Next up is sticks bunk junker.
This fight, this is my favorite.
This one's ridiculous.
So the boss will slowly gain energy and a 100 energy, the boss will cast electromagnetic
(46:53):
sorting, which does nature damage to the raid and will cause garbage to come up from the
landfill.
One tank and four other players will get rolling rubbish, which is a ball of garbage that will
just roll around the rim.
And so your goal is to roll through small garbage piles until your bar is halfway full.
(47:15):
And once it's halfway full, you can start also rolling through the large garbage piles.
Once your bar is filled up, one player will roll into the discarded doom explosive, which
is a giant bomb.
So you need to get rid of the bomb.
All the other players were rolling to the boss.
If you hit a player, another player on your team that will stun them.
(47:36):
So you don't want to hit other players.
Yeah, this is fun.
So it sounds weird, but when you see it, you're going to be like, Oh, I get it.
This makes perfect sense.
So anyway, the boss will cast incinerator, which marks a random player with small a we
(47:58):
need to avoid the garbage piles when he does this, because if he hits, if you're standing
on a garbage pile and you can hit with a fire, your garbage pile will turn into hot garbage
and you will not be able to roll through it anymore.
Because you know, reasons.
There are ads on this fight.
So you have the scrap masters who you need to interrupt.
You have the junkyard hyenas who you need to tank.
(48:20):
The hyenas will also imply apply on heroic.
They will apply infected bites that reduces healing received.
So that must be dispelled by a priest or a paladin or whoever can dispel diseases.
And then also on heroic, you will get territorial bombshell.
So there's three of these little crab guys and they will go stand on a garbage pile.
(48:42):
They will not move until they get to 75% health after they've moved.
So you damage them down.
Once they move, then you can start rolling through those garbage piles again.
Otherwise you can't.
You cannot roll through those garbage piles because they will not move.
(49:03):
If you don't get them down to 75% health fast enough after 30 seconds, they will destroy
the garbage pile.
And if he oh, if there's a rolling rubbish ball nearby, it will destroy the ball too.
So you no longer get that benefit of that.
So roll into the boss.
Demolishes the tank buster does nature and physical damage on heroic.
(49:25):
There's another tank buster, which is meltdown, which does nature damage.
And then finally there's overdrive, which is kind of an intermission phase.
It only happens once.
And basically the boss will fly into the air and spawn a bunch of damage circles that you
have to avoid.
And then there will be a big giant circle that that's where the boss is going to land.
And after he lands, he increases his attack speed by 25% and he randomly sets garbage
(49:49):
piles on fire.
So yeah, the fight gets a lot harder after this intermission phase.
So but like I said, it only happens once.
He doesn't, it's not like a stacking buff that the boss gets or anything.
Just it's okay.
Now the fight's going to get harder.
Okay.
And then finally, for today, the last boss that we're going to talk about is sprocket
(50:12):
monger lock and stock.
These names I just love.
This is a two phase fight.
The first phase is, so basically you're in a room and it's got four, actually there's
six sections that you can stand on.
And then there's three lines that go across.
And no, it's four sections and then there's three lines that go across.
(50:38):
They're breaking them apart.
Sorry.
You have to see it.
You have to see it.
If you look at it, you'll go, oh, okay, this makes sense.
Basically two of those four segments are going to be covered in lightning every time.
And so it'll periodically switch which two are covered in lightning, but it's going to
follow the same pattern every time.
So you don't have to worry about guessing where it's going to go.
(50:59):
Where is it?
Oh, is it, I have to bait it.
No, it's just, it's going to follow a pattern.
So if you learn the pattern, it's like the dance for a hygen.
If you know the dance, you're going to be fine.
He'll cast screw up, which is Mark's random players who will drop screws at their location
for three seconds.
Uh, you're going to keep moving and move away from the boss to a location to drop your screws.
(51:21):
Uh, grab a gunk.
Uh, he will apply a grab a gunk, which increases damage taken and reduces movement speed, uh,
to the tank.
So you're going to want to swap at like five stacks or so.
And then pyro party pack.
You will periodically cast this on the tank.
Uh, you have to taunt swap and then it also puts a debuff on you that will cause you to
explode.
(51:42):
You're going to want to run away when you get it.
But after the taunt swap, then the tank who just got taunted off of will run and drop
off the pyro party pack.
and then when, after he goes, okay, so we'll go, we'll go through phase two.
on there's one of the mechanic in phase one, which is the foot blasters.
This is in heroic.
So he will spawn a set of four landmines.
(52:03):
basically the lands mines have to be disabled by the players.
You have to step on it and it will cause the landmine to go off.
You take damage from the landmines and you get a debuff for two seconds.
So what you need to do is you need to set off a landmine, heal up two seconds later,
set off another one and so forth.
There are 12 total landmines that drops.
(52:25):
You're going to want to have, uh, the players kind of do them in, uh, take turns doing that.
So yeah.
And you have a debuff on you so that you can't do it again.
So if you, if you do the first one, you should be able to do the 13th one and so forth.
So, all right.
Uh, in phase two, uh, it's called a beta launch.
(52:48):
He pushes all players to the edge and electrifies all of the non conveyor belts.
So the three lines that are going across, uh, he's going to electrify all those.
You have to run against the conveyor belt to get to the boss.
You could use a warlock gateway or whatever.
There's going to be a lot of damage going on.
So I skipped a phase or I skipped a section of phase one.
(53:08):
And the reason I did this because after phase two happens, so he does all this, you have
to get to the boss, blah, blah, blah, whatever.
But after he does this, so he has inventions that shoot across.
So there's fire that shoots across, there's rockets that shoot across and there's, uh,
oh, then the, there's magnets that show up in the, in the center and they will pull
(53:28):
you to it.
And when you do damage, if you, if you get pulled into it after phase two, these become
empowered.
So, uh, he starts firing giant void laser beams, or giant, void rockets that
shoot out at everyone.
In addition to the other things that he was already doing.
So he's just adding more to the fight.
(53:48):
This part is a little weird and it's just basically a lot of stuff to dodge.
And so you have to just watch your footing, watch, watch your surroundings and that's
the whole fight.
So I'm going through this kind of quickly, but really what it boils down to is you need
to know what the spells are called.
You need to know what these abilities are called.
I can't tell you how many times I've been in a group where somebody is like, Oh, when
(54:11):
the boss casts, when the boss casts the fire thing, it's like the fire thing, which one
is that it would be good to know, especially if you're new to rating going into a fight
like this or any of these fights, what are these spells called?
How do I know what to watch out for?
Because it will show you what the boss did, what the boss is casting.
(54:32):
It will tell you what it's doing so you can learn, not just follow what your raid leader
says.
If your raid leader says move, everybody moves.
If your raid leader says you use your cool downs, everybody uses their cool downs.
That's not the way to learn how to rate the way to learn how to raid is to learn for yourself,
how to do it.
When your raid leader calls for it, you should already know that that's coming.
(54:53):
These are the types of things that are going to make you a better Raider and a better player
is just learning the mechanics of the fight, learning what they're called, learning what
to watch out for, learning what it looks like.
These things are important to improving your quality of play and just making you an overall
better player.
I'm a terrible player.
I'll admit it.
I don't learn everything every time, but I try.
(55:15):
And when I do learn it and I do pay attention, it's so much easier and I have so much more
fun.
So I would definitely recommend learning the boss fights yourself.
There are guides on wow head that you can use that will give you, it's like a cheat sheet.
They will tell you all the abilities and give you kind of the basics of the fight.
Get those.
There's some videos that you can watch.
(55:36):
There's a ton of videos out there.
I would check out ready check poll.
They have some videos.
I'll put all these links in the show notes.
But yeah, it definitely is worth taking the time and learning the fights before you go
in there.
So all right, let's let's talk about tier sets.
(55:57):
So we'll we'll wrap this up with the tier set.
So there's been a lot of discussion about tier sets from different players this time
around.
And the reason is Blizzard has decided to change the tier set bonuses to be more uniform
amongst the different classes and specs.
This has caused a lot of stress for players because it no longer gives you that kind of
(56:23):
complexity of play where you you're learning a new play style because of your set bonus.
Everybody's going to play essentially the same way.
There might be some slight variations, but but basically all the set bonuses are going
to be the same.
They're going to give you kind of the same feel for the fight.
All right.
First of all, set tokens drop from helm drops from one arm bandit.
(56:46):
The shoulders will drop from Rick Reverb.
The chest will drop from Spocker sprocket monger lock and stock.
The hands will drop from Cauldron of Carnage and the legs will drop from Sticks bunk Junker.
If you're concerned about your class tier tokens, it's pretty standard stuff.
Death Knight, Demon Hunter and Warlock are on a token together.
Druid Hunter Mage, Paladin Priest Shaman and Evoker Monk Rogue Warrior.
(57:11):
Those are the tier token breakdowns.
OK.
So the way that they've done this is each of the four roles in a raid will have a different
set bonus and that set bonus will apply to all classes that have a spec for that role.
So for example, the tanks all get luck of the draw.
Luck of the draw is something that gives you a tank cooldown for a short period of time
(57:34):
and increases your damage dealt.
That's your two piece set bonus and then your four piece will expand on that.
So to give you an example of how this works, a blood death knight.
Each time you take damage, you have a chance to cast ice bound fortitude for four seconds
and gain luck of the draw, which increases your damage dealt by 15 percent for 10 seconds.
That's pretty straightforward.
(57:55):
You get a tank cooldown and increases your damage.
Protection Warrior.
Each time you take damage, you have a chance to cast shield wall for four seconds and gain
luck of the draw, which increases your damage dealt by 15 percent for 12 seconds.
A little bit different.
Same idea.
The four piece bonuses are blood decay.
Luck of the draw has a two second increase duration while luck for the draw is active.
(58:16):
Death strike costs 10 less runic power and can strike up to two additional nearby enemies.
OK, so it's making what you already do a little bit better.
That's pretty cool.
Protection Warrior.
During luck of the draw, shield slam's chance to critically strike is increased by 75 percent
and its critical strikes reduce the cooldown of shield charge by 12 seconds.
Again, that's really cool, but it's not changing your play style a whole bunch.
(58:39):
You're basically doing what you do a little bit better.
For melee classes, they're going to get winning streak.
Now, this one is really divisive.
A lot of people don't like winning streak and I'll explain why.
So you get a buff to certain abilities and that buff will stack.
(59:00):
But those abilities also have a chance to remove the buff.
So havoc Demon Hunter.
Your spells and abilities have a chance to activate a winning streak, increasing the damage
of your blade dance and chaos strike by three percent, stacking up to 10 times.
Blade dance and chaos strike have a 15 percent chance to remove winning streak.
So your spells and abilities.
(59:20):
So anything you do has a chance to activate a winning streak and it will continue to stack
up to 10 times.
You could get a 30 percent damage buff for blade dance and chaos strike.
But every time you use those spells, you have a 15 percent chance to remove the buff.
Obviously, this is playing on the whole idea of a winning streak.
It's like, hey, if you keep if you're on a winning streak and you keep gambling, eventually
(59:42):
you're going to lose.
So I do get it, but it doesn't feel good to know that the very thing you're buffing also
has a chance to remove what you're getting for Retribution Paladin.
The two pieces, your spells and abilities have a chance to activate a winning streak,
increasing the damage of your Templar's verdict and divine storm by two percent, stacking
up to 10 times.
(01:00:03):
Spending holy power on damaging abilities has a 12 percent chance to remove winning streak.
So anything that costs holy power has a chance to remove winning streak.
This could be word of glory.
This could be Templar's verdict, divine storm.
If you happen to put on a shield for some reason, I don't know.
Yeah.
So there you go.
(01:00:23):
The four piece set bonuses for these havoc demon hunter winning streak persists for eight
seconds after being removed by blade dance or chaos strike.
OK, that's fine.
Entering demon form sacrifices all winning streak stacks to gain two percent critical
strike chance per stack consumed last 15 seconds.
So if you if it's 10 stacks, which is your max, you'll get a 20 percent critical strike
(01:00:44):
chance bonus for 15 seconds.
Not a great trade off, but it's still something.
And again, this doesn't change your play style at all.
I mean, I'm sure some some people will play slightly differently.
But as far as I'm looking at this, unless you're doing super high end content plus 20
mythic plus or race to world first cutting edge rating, you're not changing your play
(01:01:09):
style for this, which I think was the goal from Blizzard Retribution Paladin.
When you lose your winning streak, you get the last holy power spent back.
You cannot lose holy power for the next four seconds.
And the damage of your holy power abilities are increased by 10 percent.
OK, so again, not really changing a whole bunch.
Maybe you're going to when you lose your winning streak, you know that you need to do a bunch
(01:01:30):
of stuff in a certain way to burn a bunch of holy power.
I don't know.
I don't play Retribution Paladin.
But yeah, I can see that there's a case to be made for this.
And that's why I said this one's a little divisive.
Some people really don't like it.
So all right.
Range to DPS and hunters are getting lumped in with all the casters in this category,
(01:01:50):
which whatever.
So you're going to get a buff to an ability or a secondary stats and will also your cooldown
will trigger too.
So Beast Mastery two piece is your spells and abilities have a chance to hit a jackpot
that fires a barbed shot at 200 percent effectiveness.
Casting Beastial Wrath always hits a jackpot.
(01:02:11):
So the jackpot being a little different winning streak, you're just going to win one time
and that's it.
So you get this one time bonus, a in this case, a 200 percent damage barbed shot.
And if you do Beastial Wrath, you get one every single time.
Affliction Warlock, your spells and abilities have a chance to hit a jackpot that increases
your haste by 12 percent for 12 seconds.
(01:02:32):
Casting Summon Dark Glare always hits a jackpot.
So the same idea, except in this case, instead of buffing a spell, you're getting a haste
buff.
So it's a little bit different.
The four piece bonuses are Beast Mastery hitting a jackpot infuses your pet with a mutagen
causing its auto attacks to deal increased nature damage to its target and up to five
enemies within 10 yards for eight seconds.
(01:02:53):
Mutagenic attacks reduce the cooldown of Beastial Wrath by five point five seconds.
Again, this isn't going to change what you do.
Your pet's already attacking.
So really a whole bunch you're going to do there.
Affliction Warlock hitting a jackpot also increases the damage of unstable affliction by 50 percent
and causes unstable affliction to spread to up to three targets within 40 yards for 12
(01:03:15):
seconds.
Again, that's cool, but not really changing your play style.
All right.
The final one is the healer one.
And this one's a little I don't know.
I feel like this is a little clunky.
Healing spells will apply your insurance.
You get a 15 second hot.
And if your ally drops below 40 percent, they get a burst heal of a portion of the overall
(01:03:40):
hot damage.
So let's go Mistweaver Monk.
Your healing spells have a chance to apply insurance to their targets that heals them
for it gives us a percentage of your spell power.
But basically it heals them for a certain amount over 15 seconds.
Insurance is consumed if an ally drops below 40 percent health to heal them for less of
(01:04:03):
that spell power.
So what happens is you get you have a chance to apply insurance to your target and it starts
putting a hot on that target.
If that target suddenly drops below 40 percent, it gets rid of the hot and it heals them for
a portion of the overall heal.
This could be a really good thing.
It could help healers or it might be, you know, for example, if if a if a play
(01:04:27):
or drops below 40 percent health, a lot of times a healer will spend a cooldown to heal
their target back up.
If they also get this bonus insurance is consumed, it's going to feel bad.
Just saying.
Holy Priest, your healing spells have a chance to apply insurance to their targets that heals
them for 1000 percent of spell power over 15 seconds.
(01:04:48):
Same thing.
This is basically the same thing.
Insurance is consumed if an ally drops below 40 percent health to heal them for 600 percent
of spell power.
Same idea.
The more spell power you have, obviously the better it's going to be.
But you have no control over it.
You have literally zero control over this.
The four piece is for the Mistweaver casting renewing mist applies insurance for six seconds.
(01:05:09):
The healing of insurance is increased by up to 50 percent in proportion to the coverage
renewing mist has on you and up to 10 allies.
OK, I mean, this is OK.
I don't know.
I just I don't like the healer one.
Holy Priest, Holy Word Serenity and Holy Word Sanctify apply insurance for 10 seconds to
one target while apotheosis is active.
(01:05:30):
Healing is increased by one percent for each insurance active on allies.
Again, this is good.
If I don't ever have to think about this and it never makes me feel bad, then that's fine.
But the problem that a lot of people have with these set bonuses is that they don't
feel like they're not exciting.
There's nothing sexy about these set bonuses.
(01:05:51):
The tank one.
Yeah, that's great that you get a defensive or four seconds or whatever.
But what if you get it when you don't need it?
And then what?
And it was like, well, that was kind of a waste.
It increases your damage for 10 seconds.
But I don't know.
It just the whole thing feels a little weird.
I appreciate that Blizzard is trying something new.
(01:06:11):
I really do.
I like that.
But I really think that maybe this was this wasn't super well thought out.
So anyway, I don't want to get in too deeply in this because we haven't seen these set
bonuses in action really in any sort of large scale capacity.
So after we've seen people get these set bonuses and we get some idea of what they're looking
(01:06:34):
at, maybe in a couple of weeks, we'll be able to take a look back and go, hey, these are
actually great.
Or hey, we were right.
These stink.
Either way, I think it's really important that you know what your class can do and what
your set bonuses are so that when you get your tier set, you actually understand what's
going on.
And if you do need to make adjustments to how you play because of whatever reason that
(01:06:59):
you're aware of that.
So all right.
I think that's about it.
I mean, I've talked a lot about the race to world first there, but our power, our own
inner boss liberation of undermine the tier sets, we have a lot still to talk about with
this stuff.
We're going to get to more next week.
We'll talk about the final three bosses, one armed bandit Mugsy, the heads of security
(01:07:20):
and chrome keen galley wicks.
We will give updates on the race to world first where everybody is, what it looks like
is going to happen in the race.
And we'll see.
Hopefully we'll get a little bit of feedback on these tier sets and see are they working?
Are they not working?
And maybe talk about kind of where, where all the classes are.
I don't like to do Tier lists for classes because I feel like that gives people the
(01:07:42):
wrong idea.
And it makes them feel like, oh, I'm an A-Tier, so I'm good.
Or I'm an S-Tier.
I'm good.
Or I'm C-Tier.
I'm bad.
Not necessarily.
If you're, a good player and you play well, any class can be a good class.
If you're, if you're playing a class that you're not familiar with because it's an
S-Ttier class, you're going to have low DPS because you're not familiar with this class.
(01:08:05):
You got to learn, you got to practice, you got to put in the time.
So anyway, all right.
That is going to wrap up our show today.
Thank you so much for listening and for watching.
It is always a pleasure and a privilege to get on this microphone and speak to you.
Like I said, there's a lot to go over with the raid and all of this content.
So we are going to be hitting the rest of this next week, but, I did want to at
(01:08:26):
least get the beginning intro.
A lot of, a lot of guilds are going to get into liberation of Undermine and do the first
five bosses and then that's going to be it because there is a definite increase in difficulty
going from the first five to the last three,
and I mean, we're just assuming with Gallywix because we don't know, we haven't seen that
fight yet, but the, One-Arm Bandit and Mug'Zee are both, apparently really
(01:08:48):
difficult fights.
So, it'll be a lot like narrow our palace where we get through ration on, and then a
lot of guilds stopped after that, on heroic or mythic because that's, it was
kind of the wall.
So you might hit a wall in the first week.
That's okay.
You know, make sure you're having fun, make sure you're enjoying your guild mates,
uh, or if you get into a pug, just be polite and be kind and friendly to everyone.
(01:09:11):
That's all you need to do.
And you can have a good time.
So, all right, if you want to get ahold of me directly, you can reach me.
I am on Twitter and blue sky.
I'm at Denethor on both of those platforms.
Uh, you can catch me streaming on Twitch or YouTube.
Uh, I started, I started streaming on YouTube and I don't like that.
Uh, so I'm streaming to YouTube and then copying the stream to Twitch.
(01:09:33):
I'm going to switch that around and go stream to Twitch and then copy to YouTube.
I feel like that's going to work better.
but, yeah, you can catch me on both of those platforms.
I am at Denethor zero one.
I will have all links in the show notes, including the Azeroth United links in our link tree.
Uh, it'll have the link to our Patreon.
It'll have the link to our discord.
Come on, join our discord.
There's a lot of conversations going on and, you can, jump on there.
(01:09:57):
Yeah, there's just, is, is a lot, a lot going on right now.
So I'm enjoying the new patch and I hope you are too.
So all right.
Remember to be good to each other out there.
That's a real life person on the other side of that keyboard.
And just because their class is C tier doesn't mean that you can't be nice to them and just
smile and nod and say, it's, it's all right, man.
(01:10:17):
You're doing pretty good damage.
So all right, take care.
I love you all and I'll see you in Azeroth.
