Earlier this NHL season, John Keating, the longtime Detroit Red Wings' studio host on FanDuel Sports Network Detroit, announced his retirement folllowing the conclusion of the Wings' season.
We caught up with John during the NHL's February break for the 4 Nations Face-Off and chatted with, maybe, the only studio hosts many Red Wings and Detroit Tigers' fans have ever known.
During our Conversation with John we learn about his early years as a sports fan growing up in suburban Detroit, cutting his teeth in the Grand Rapids, MI, market; the decade he spent in Denver where he saw the zenith of John Elway, the birth of the MLB's Rockies, and a burgeoning NHL rivalry between the Avalanche and the Red Wings; and, utlimately, his return to Detroit and the ability to work with some of his childhood heroes such as Al Kaline and Ernie Harwell.
Check out John's latest project, his podcast with partner Chris Osgood entitled Ozzy and Keats.
