Ever wondered how a cheeky AI bot might add a dash of unexpected sass to your day? Join us as we transition from streaming to podcasting, complete with all the humorous technical hiccups you'd expect along the way, and a slightly creepy encounter with a follower who claims to live just across the street. Our conversation takes a heartfelt and entertaining turn as we dive into the rollercoaster ride of parenting, sharing relatable tales of our kids' brace-filled smiles. Bearded Nova opens up about his son's dietary struggles and the looming Halloween candy dilemma, while Morph brings a dose of reassurance and humor from his own daughter's brace saga.

As Halloween creeps closer, we reminisce about the beloved tradition of the 'parent tax' on Halloween candy—a hilarious negotiation ploy that's evolved as our kids have gotten older and wiser. We chat about the joy of bonding over grocery trips and the guilty pleasure of sharing treats with our children. Our reflections extend to how our personal routines, including the occasional indulgence in a Slurpee or a shift in alcohol consumption, have evolved since our streaming days. Wrapping up with a lively debate about gaming devices, we offer a behind-the-scenes peek at our podcast journey and our amusing gadget obsessions, like the Steam Deck versus the G Cloud. Tune in for a delightful mix of humor, relatable stories, and behind-the-scenes insights that capture the essence of our podcasting adventure.

Speaker 1 (00:01):
turning off normal human male mode.
Switching to dad mode.
Welcome in to dad mode withyour hosts bearded nova and
morph all right, so I think thatwe're set up then this is.

Speaker 3 (00:19):
I'm just putting out that this is taking us a long
time.
I don't know how many months wehave.
We have contemplated all ofthis awesome thanks space it's.
It's.
It's been months of us said weshould just click live and do it
easier that way.

Speaker 2 (00:33):
This is why yeah, because and I know that we've
talked about in many episodespast well, we're streamers.
In fact, it says it in our bioon whatever site you listen to a
podcast on.
But and you so you think thatwe don't know what we're doing,
even though we said that weclearly do so.
To an extent, it's embarrassing.

Speaker 3 (00:52):
Blightly.
How do you think it was thefirst few weeks of me actually
going live again?
Here and there?
Just every stream just crashedand burned.
It was like I'd never done thisbefore.
It was horrible.
Last night was unhitchedperfect.
It went smooth.
Not one.
Yeah, not wang.
Yeah, the bot, though the botis still ridiculously abusive to

(01:14):
people.

Speaker 2 (01:15):
Yeah, oh yeah, you, you have so for any reason.
No, he has added a bot, like anAI bot, to his streaming setup
and it's basically a very rudeAustralian version of Bearded.

Speaker 3 (01:37):
Look, he just, yeah, he just.
I didn't realize he's stillplaying because he just thanked
Moose for hitting follow.
I was like, oh shit, the cunt'stalking.
Don't need this guy in my lifeat the moment.
All right, let's see.
I think last night he toldAverage that he hopes he.
When Average said he needed togo to bed, that he hopes the bed

(01:57):
bugs bite his balls.
He really doesn't like Average.

Speaker 2 (02:01):
Average.
Is he going to start takingthat personally at some point?
I don't know the moment averageappears in my chat, it
instantly greets him with cheekycunt and that's what it calls
him.
So your bot greets average thesame way that I greet most of
scientists.

Speaker 3 (02:16):
Yeah, basically, basically, yeah, surprisingly
though, and I don't mean it musthave respect for the man, but m
west came by, didn't abuse MWest.

Speaker 2 (02:25):
It's because M West is awesome.
Exactly Not that average is it,but.

Speaker 3 (02:29):
Yeah, like I mean he swore, but not directly at him.
Yeah, swore about the topic, soI'm paying for chat, gpt, for
Turbo or whatever you know theone that puts them basically
online.
Yeah, so he's topical now and Ifinally got to see that last
night because someone was askingme about the game and was able

(02:52):
to look up parts of the gameonline and the community, so I
was able to comment about whatthe community thinks about the
game, what most people thinkabout the game.
You know it was like itactually knew the game and had
played the game.
Most people think about thegame.
You know it.
It's like it was like itactually knew the game and I
played the game how it wastalking, so it was actually
really cool.
There was so one fucking creepymoment last night while I was

(03:14):
streaming because I had thewindow open last night.
It was late, I don't care, Ijust left the blind up and I had
a new follower join.
Yeah, and they go hey, I liveacross the road.

Speaker 2 (03:25):
they said that yeah, oh yeah, that is creepy because
the windows open.

Speaker 3 (03:29):
I got such a big monitor because I'm old and
can't see.
Yeah, they were outside doingstuff on cars or whatever and
they could see through the frontwindow then see what I was
playing.
They're like, oh, we play thatgame.

Speaker 2 (03:41):
So then they've jumped on twitch to find what
stream to tell me that I waslike this is just weird yeah, I
I'm wondering if we shouldrename we've said talk about
being old a couple times if weshould name the podcast, just
like two old men yell at theirkids.

Speaker 3 (03:54):
Exactly, I mean it doesn't roll off the tongue, but
you know it's accurate goingback to the kids, though we were
talking before we click liveand we had, like, all the
technical problems and trying towork out life braces you were
talking about.

Speaker 2 (04:07):
Your son hates life because he's got braces yes, my,
my just turned 13 year old gotbraces today and he doesn't seem
happy, like they don't hurt himas much as they thought they
would, but he's struggling with, like, the things he can and
cannot eat.

(04:28):
So, like I do, before the show,I took him to this.
Like really, this house near usthat really goes all out with
decorations like they're in thenewspaper and stuff, and at the
end of it you can, you can graba handful of candy, yeah, and
he's like, oh, I'm gonna grabthis.
I'm like you know you can't eatthat or that or that or that.
He's like what?

(04:48):
So, yeah, and halloween is justaround the corner and you know
mom and dad are gonna have toeat all his candy for him, out
of love, out of love he will befine because we've got, we've
gone through the braces stagealready.

Speaker 3 (05:06):
Okay, we're at the end.
The 12-year-old is at the endof at the point of taking them
off.
She actually was all for bracesand getting them, yeah.
So it'll hurt like a few daysand then it'll settle down.
I don't think she stoppedeating anything.
Hey, there was probably muchthat stopped her, like I'm

(05:27):
pretty sure he will be.
You know he'll be fine eatingcandy and chocolate.
He just has to clean.
What he has to do is just cleanthe teeth.
That's all they asked for.
You might have to take the thethings off.
Did your son go invisible orvisible at the?
No?

Speaker 2 (05:42):
he, so he he wanted that, but he needed regular
braces.

Speaker 3 (05:47):
So it seems to be like it doesn't really matter
what, but it seemed like theyboth perform the same here
nowadays, like regular and thatand, and the only difference
between the two is it's like a300 difference.
To go to go and visit me,thinking kids etc.
Like, okay, she's obviouslygoing to want the invisible ones
because she's a girl andappearances and don't want to go

(06:10):
to school with braces and blah, blah, blah, blah, blah.
No, she wanted the metal.
Really, she's just hell-bent ongoing in there and getting
metal.
We have to keep telling her hey, don't worry, you can hide this
stuff, we can put you.
You know, you don't have toshoot.
No, she wanted the middle.
She wanted the colored bands, and every time I go I can change
the colors, that type of thing.

Speaker 2 (06:31):
I was like, oh, okay yeah, so I just real quick, if
you didn't catch the beginningof the episode.
We're live right now and wehave people who have joined us
live and they're saying thingsand it's distracting.
It's distracting but it'shilarious.
It is hilarious.
You know, bearded, this isgoing to give us extra content

(06:52):
to talk about.

Speaker 3 (06:53):
Yeah, that's exactly that's why I thought this was
worth it.
We can pluck ideas, take whatwe need.

Speaker 2 (07:00):
Oh, my god Moose.
Anyway, so we have my moderator.
Well, somebody who has modprivileges in the chat here is
mentioning about Halloween, howthey go through their kid's
Halloween candy.
Yeah, because we're coming upon Halloween and they say they

(07:21):
have to inspect it.
Now, I don't really go throughmy kids halloween candy bullshit
.
I ask for a tribute and becausethere's a tax, as if I'm like
the lord of the land, I'm thelord of their land, that's all
they need to know.
So do you?
What do you?
What do you do?

Speaker 3 (07:40):
you know, let them have it yeah, I think this is
one of the first topics we evertalked about.
To be honest, this is, this islike we're just on a year now.
This is holy shit.
You're right.
Yeah, yeah, and we talked aboutthis.
Yeah, parent tax is a hundredpercent of thing.
We didn't do, though the taxlast year because none of the
kids really went, because thecar was such newborn, so we

(08:01):
didn't do anything and theydidn't do anything, so it never,
it never went anywhere.
But this year the baby can'teat that much candy so I'm
taking her out and tax.
You know it may sway towardslike the 95 side effects yeah,
and she won't.

Speaker 2 (08:19):
She won't know that.
So when we first started takingthem, we did the same thing.
We got a good 90 95 percent.
Right now we're down to about30, because they're older and
they're smarter and they're nothaving it and we're like that's
cool.
Plus, I know, like I'm an adult, I can go to the grocery store
the next week and buy all thediscounted candy anyway.

Speaker 3 (08:38):
Yeah and then you can also just buy the ones that you
want.
You know what I mean?
You don't have to ramp, youdon't have to sift through shit
going.
I know I don't need this, Idon't need that, and just trying
to find the ones you want.
I recently have taught the baby, though, that shopping centers
like the grocery store you knowwhen you're going out to the
checkout and that they have, like the concession there so you

(08:59):
can get, like you you know, cheap bars and mints and whatnot
.
She now knows that the bestchocolate is on there for us.
So we may have a situation nowwhere I buy chocolate every time
that we end up going to thegroceries For her, for her,
right, right.
I had to pick her up early fromdaycare yesterday because she

(09:19):
wasn't herself and our daycare'sthree minutes, you know, around
the corner from our house.
I rock up, okay, oh, she's notherself, she's not eating.
I went don't worry, I've gotthis drove down the road to the
shopping center.
Our coals, yeah, brought thechocolate she ate the chocolate
on the way home made the childthat's great, I'm a god, that is

(09:40):
top-notch parenting right thereyeah, that hasn't wonderful.
Hasn't had anything to eat allday.
But you know what?
Chocolate doesn't matter.
What you just said you can'teat.

Speaker 2 (09:48):
I'll make you eat something, yeah because you
sounds like you've got a giftbearded.
You've got a gift for thisskill.
The skill is not needed myyounger one likes to help out a
lot and recently he's like hewants to help pump gas when I
have to fill up my car and hejust volunteers.
So I'm like you know what?
I'm going to do something nicefor you.
I'm going to get you.

(10:08):
We'll go in the store after youget some, pump in it and pick
out a candy, and then, of course, as the manager, I should also
get.

Speaker 3 (10:17):
Yeah, you get it.
Yeah, it's an excuse foryourself.

Speaker 2 (10:25):
My employees do good things and they get rewarded,
but I get rewarded for being anamazing leader, yeah, so he gets
m&ms and I get reese's, youknow, and so I think it's fair
that's, that's the.

Speaker 3 (10:32):
That's how I and my wife and I are totally different
.
She knows that if I'm takingthe kids somewhere and and all
of a sudden I am rewarding thekids for a great effort with
chocolate, yeah that I myselfmust get chocolate.
Of course, it's very similar todriving past a 7-Eleven.
He's driving past a 7-Eleven.
I am going to stop and getSlurpee.

(10:57):
Yeah, but it's a given, they'rea dollar.

Speaker 2 (11:00):
Yeah, why not?
You're helping to support thelocal economy.

Speaker 3 (11:03):
I mean, I get it Everyone's happy, everyone's
happy yeah, wait, wait.

Speaker 2 (11:07):
Can you have slurpees and chocolate, my friend?
No, I shouldn't.
But you know what?
You only live once, I only liveonce, so who cares doesn't
really matter.
You know, what is funny is whenwe record these podcasts.
I sorry, when I used to stream, all the time I would have I
would enjoy a drink during thestream.

Speaker 3 (11:26):
When we started our podcast, I stopped that and I
noticed that, out of habit, I ampouring a drink and I realized.

Speaker 2 (11:37):
I need to stop that, because if we try to record more
than one episode, Is this fromthe bleeding, the bleeding
uterus, the bleeding, oh no,okay, that one's that one's
empty.

Speaker 3 (11:44):
No, okay, that more than one episode is this from
the bleeding, the bleedinguterus, bottle the bleeding?
Oh no, okay, that one's thatone's empty, no okay, that one
is empty all right, then that'sfine.
Yeah, I actually it's funny.

Speaker 2 (11:51):
So since I, since I stopped streaming, my alcohol
consumption has dropped way down, yeah, yeah, but anyway.
So we were talking about thekids getting braces.
He's like I can't get them offtill may 2026.
I'm like, yeah, it's a year anda half to him.
It seems like a long time to me.
It's like that's one budgetaway my job terms, you know like
it's not that big of a deal,it's not, and it'll be

(12:14):
interesting to see how how itgoes.
So first thing, I said I'm likehey, you're cutting up the
inside of your, your gums yet, yeah, he's like, no, why?
I'm like, oh, never mind, because you will it will.

Speaker 3 (12:25):
No, I think, I think it's all come a long way, like
that doesn't really happen and Igive him I don't know the hours
, gave our one lots of stuff toput in her mouth and whatnot, if
she needs it.
I don't know what happenedthere yeah, you're did.

Speaker 2 (12:39):
Did I stop it or did you stop it I?

Speaker 3 (12:40):
know it just dropped away, so I have a technical
difficulty.

Speaker 2 (12:44):
We'll edit.
This part will be edited out?
I imagine probably not.
What do I look like a wizard?
So, in case nobody, you guysare seeing this.
So what happened is we're liveon twitch.
Uh, I'm live on twitch at it'smorph, by the way and I added
bearded in.
I've added his cam so people inthe live stream could see him,
not just hear him, and and thenit just disappeared.

(13:05):
So we're working through this.
Apologies, it's our first day.
I'm apologizing to people whoare listening to this.
We didn't even know he wasthere in the first place.
So you know what?
I wish I had remembered thatit's been about a year, because
we could have been reflecting onall the episodes.

Speaker 3 (13:23):
We could have done something.

Speaker 2 (13:25):
So if I can't even remember our own show
anniversary, I'm screwed when itcomes to my wife's anniversary,
my kids' birthdays, all thatstuff possibly.

Speaker 3 (13:36):
you know, I I don't do well with remembering that
stuff I don't think you get achoice when it comes to this
stuff.
You know what I mean.
Like you're, you're going toknow about it, whether you want
to or not.
I think the days of peoplehiding anniversaries and special
events on others this isn't athing anymore.
Everyone's too.
You get too many hints comingup to it or too much

(13:59):
conversation coming up to it foryou to forget it.
I guess it's the best way toput it.
Yeah, I have just brought upthe list of a list of episodes
actually.
Oh yeah, so I can actually seethat but we've published.

Speaker 2 (14:12):
If anyone's not aware , we've published almost one
episode every week for the pastyear.
We had a little bit of a break, during this past summer, you
know, because we wanted to enjoythe nice weather.

Speaker 3 (14:22):
Well, my summer, his winter, but we wanted to enjoy
the nice weather, or the shittyweather in your case, but yeah,
I know it's more shittier nowthan it was then, but yeah, so I
think it's about 50 50 episodesto be precise.
I think it's about four weeks.
We missed in total, bad, totalhalloween episodes halloween we
did a halloween episode lastyear.

Speaker 2 (14:42):
Yeah, it was the fifth episode oh, okay the first
episode was we started at thebeginning of october last year.

Speaker 3 (14:48):
Yeah, yeah, yeah, because we were having multiple
week at one stage and then wekind of pushed it out right to a
week or something like that.

Speaker 2 (14:55):
Then we pushed it out sorry because we've we've got
very efficient at recordingthese and editing them besides a
few stuff ups recently I.

Speaker 3 (15:04):
I've had some mic issues, surprise, surprise I, I,
I forgot to record all audioone week yeah, it hasn't been
smooth.

Speaker 2 (15:14):
Every every episode isn't smooth, like I know what
you hear out there on on spotify.
Wherever you listen to it likebutter, it's generally pretty
good.
But yeah, I mean, we've gonethrough some issues, but for the
most part, especially the lastfew months, it's been pretty
smooth.
I deleted all episodes formatof just talking yeah you know,

(15:36):
way record 30 35 minutes stop.
Record another 35 minutes stop.
He does minor editing.
Good to go, yeah pretty much.

Speaker 3 (15:45):
I pretty much look for the word like because I
because I answered by word Idefinitely look for let's edit
that out.
Is is one usually because we'vesaid something that we don't
want the other wife to hearabout.

Speaker 2 (15:58):
So I don't know what you're talking about.
Let's edit that out.

Speaker 3 (16:01):
Let's edit that out, and that's usually around stupid
purchases or doing somethingstupid.
It's nothing.
It's nothing horrible, neveranything.
No, never everything horrible.

Speaker 2 (16:10):
I think there's been more.

Speaker 3 (16:11):
I don't want my job to hear this edits yeah yeah,
for a while there was a bunch ofthat did I tell you my recent
purchase, though that wasspontaneous and then I had to
think, you know, the money cameout of my bank account and then,
before I know, it was insomeone else's hand, and then I
had to comprehend about how Iwas going to deliver this.

(16:32):
Yeah, just gotta lean for thisone.
We were talking about it, theother way.

Speaker 2 (16:37):
Oh, you got.
Is that the?
Is that the steam deck?
Yeah so it's funny you showthat I had got the Backbone,
which is like a device.
You put your phone into it andI'm like, oh it sucks.
So I was looking at the SteamDeck but then I got turned on to
the G Cloud and I cannot decidebetween the two of them.

Speaker 3 (16:55):
So I would do Steam Deck, would you yeah?

Speaker 2 (17:00):
Far better.
Can it connect to Xbox, or isit just Steam?
So?

Speaker 3 (17:03):
it can't do Xbox.
It can do every game launcher, but the Xbox Game Pass.
However, it can do cloud.
It can do the Xbox cloud, so itcan't natively run the Xbox
games through the Xbox app, butit can do cloud, so you can
still do the cloud streaming forthose exclusives that you

(17:26):
really wanted to can it connectto your to do the xbox live
thing from your current xbox?
yeah, you'd be able to do that.
Okay, I'll just stream.
I'll just stream it forstraight from the cloud.
Yeah, but like ea launch gogepic, you can sideload them in.
So it does just use the steamthing you can use, because you

(17:47):
know everyone clicks.
Oh no, I'm a horrible personfor clicking the free downloads
on epic, like I don't.
I don't think I own any games.
I've played any game on epicever, but I but I have a library
of 200 and something games onthere yeah so, yeah, I can
launch them.
The other thing that issurprisingly well emulation.

(18:07):
Yeah, really, it can run aswitch game better than the
switch really yeah, that'sfascinating.
So yeah, twitch the switch.
Might be getting 30 frames asecond on average.
This can run at 60.

Speaker 2 (18:19):
All right, nice, let me ask you.
My one issue with the g cloudwas that it was wi-fi only is
how does the, how does the steamdeck work?

Speaker 3 (18:30):
it's apu.
So it's like like a switch, just a way more powerful.
Switch, okay, four core, eight, fred, amd cpu it's good wi-fi.
It doesn't have, like, anyinternal cell no, no selfie
connection so you can hot you'dhotspot it, I guess, would be
the best way to put it okay, soif I'm in the car on a long car

(18:50):
ride, I'm not obviously notdriving.
I can hotspot it from my phoneand yeah, you can hotspot if you
need to do the xbox stuff or ifit's steam related or epic or
you own the game already.
You just install it and it justplays offline.
As long as the game doesn'tneed online services, you're
fine, right, which is almost nogames.

Speaker 2 (19:08):
Now, surprisingly, a lot of steam games don't single
player ones, so you know, whatkills me is, like you know, I
was playing starfield for awhile and that was online.
I'm like it's a single playergame.
Why?
Why is this online?

Speaker 3 (19:20):
Yeah, but I've been using it to get through a lot of
the indies that I have.
Yeah, because there's lots ofindie games that I've picked up
over the years that I haven'treally got into playing, or I've
said I'm going to but I haven't.
So this has been happening waymore, tackling my library that I
haven't got to my dirty laundry, as it were, when it comes to

(19:41):
the Steam world.
So far, everything I've thrownout has played.
Well, I know it can playCyberpunk.
So if I give you an idea ofperformance, the game the
handheld can play Cyberpunk, nothigh settings, it's just low,
but it plays it at a smoothframe rate.
You can't be wrong.
And it puts you in with thefamily more often.

(20:02):
Just think of that.
That's all I have to say.
That's my selling point.
It puts you back in the roomwith your family when you need
it.

Speaker 2 (20:10):
Yeah, right now I have an Xbox in my bedroom and
so I'm playing games a lot.
At night, she'll be reading abook.
I'm playing games.
I don't think she loves that.
At night, like you know, she'llbe reading a book.
I'm playing games and I don'tthink she loves that.
So I'm thinking, to savearguments, I should get a device
where I can play on a deviceand she can watch whatever she

(20:30):
wants on the screen.
Yeah it, I think that soundslike a great relationship advice
.

Speaker 3 (20:37):
Yeah yeah, then it comes with a nice little case,
it comes as standard, comes witha little hard case.

Speaker 2 (20:44):
So you have to travel .
Yeah, it connected.
Did you get the one?
Whether the 128 256?

Speaker 3 (20:51):
or 512, you got 12, one terabyte did you.

Speaker 2 (20:54):
I got a one terabyte I brought.
You went, all you went, youwent big.
No, I brought used.

Speaker 3 (20:58):
Oh, did you?
Yeah, I ended up buying it usedbecause I wasn't sure how I was
going to like it or whatnot, soI went used for that reason, so
I wasn't investing too muchinto it.
Yeah, I was trying to buy anROG Ally actually another
version of it but I was having ahard time meeting that person

(21:18):
but to arranging a pickup and toget there and every time I was
free they weren't.
They weren't around.
In the end I was just likestuff it, I'll see what else is
out there.
Saw the steam deck jumped on itright away.
Yeah, yeah, but it's probablythe best purchase I've made in a
very long time.
I don't have to come down here.
You know, I can lay on thecouch.

(21:39):
I've used that a lot where I'vejust laid on the couch at night
playing a game that I have notgot to and I probably wouldn't
have got to unless I had it,because some of my, some of my
games that I've been given toover the years of streaming and
making content that I haven'tactually touched Right.

Speaker 2 (21:55):
