red flag, but it's usually thewholesome people who like the
murder shows.
Not sure why.

There's so many people who are just fascinated
with serial killers, and thefirst couple seasons of Dexter,
for sure, are really good.
A couple hiccups, they don'toverstate it.
Its welcome for me, I neveractually finished watching the
original series and I have notwatched the sequel series where
he has a son that he tries togroom into a serial killer.

I don't know I mean, I feel like skipping the sequel
to like anything gets reboot isjust what you should do out of
principle, principle yeah, butthey recently started airing a
uh prequel series called uh,original sin and uh, there's
only, there's only like fiveepisodes so far.

It comes out every friday, um, and so far I think
I'm I'm enjoying it, but I amwondering how long I'm going to
be able to enjoy it because, asyou've said repeatedly on and
off the podcast, I'm fairly sureprequel series tend not to
really have stakes.

It's such a fascinating problem because it's
like I was having a lengthyconversation with someone today
about when you make an animevideo game.
You can either tell the storyof the anime, which is kind of
boring, or write somethingoriginal, and then people's
brain always goes to oh, I'll dothe first Ninja War or the
Hundred Year Blood War or aprequel of some kind, Even if

you go far enough back that youcould just add characters,
because they'd be dead due toold age anyway.
you still kind of lose,something Like I don't think I
can think of a single good likelegitimately good prequel,
Because I think it's just likehard to do.

Well, like I say, I'm enjoying it so far, but it's
like he dumped a body in theFlorida Keys where it would get
eaten by alligators and then atthe end of the episode, it's
like, oh, his hand floated up tothe surface and it's like, yeah
, but Dexter literally can't getcaught.

Right, or he kills everyone that catches him in a
horrible murder rampage.

Well, yeah, but I mean, most of the characters
that are in the police precinctwhile he's doing his internship
are characters that are in theoriginal show.
So I was like the majority ofthe cast is pretty safe.
There's a couple characters, acouple characters I'm like.
Hmm, one of them is played bySarah Michelle Gellar.
I feel like she's gonna die.

What's interesting is I'm gonna retcon my prequel
statement a little bit, soprequels can work as a
miniseries.

It was like 90 bucks.
It had 10 villains.

expansions.
Now, super fans of the seriesmight realize my mistake already

So that makes six for the twoexpansions and the actual base
game also comes with sixcharacters.
But the third portion of thebundle I got only came with four
and I'm a little bit upsetabout this because the

introduction to evil is the basegame minus two characters, and
those two characters have notbeen reprinted or repackaged in
any other form.

But what are the two characters?

Jafar and the Queen of Hearts, of hearts oh, those
are good ones, I know, uh.
And so it's like I don't wantto have to buy the actual base
game and get four charactersthat I already have.
But you can't find areplacement parts on amazon.
And if you try to buy just thequeen of hearts on eBay, buy all
the individual pieces, it'slike $90 just for the one
character and that's.
You have to like search throughand go through different buyers

I thought this was a complete version because it said

But regardless, I mean we got good value and she's
bought most of the otherexpansions now, so we have a
huge collection.
The problem is I don'tparticularly like the game
because, like you say, it's fourplayer solitaire and it's like
why am I playing this withpeople?

I mean, it might be one of those games, though,
where it's like, if the game'seasy enough, you you can like at
least enjoy your company whileplaying it.

Well, yeah, that's definitely.
The angle I'm taking is justthat you know it's a good game
to play with people because youcan just sit there and chat and
do whatever, but I just it's.
You don't have much interactionwith the other players for
their game state and I find itvery difficult, even with my own

objective, to know how far orclose I am to that objective and
whether or not fading someoneis actually the right move,
because it's like a 50-50 chance, whether or not it's something
beneficial to them or if it'sactually a detriment to them.

Also, at some point I went outfor New Year's, got a mini dice

When they decide that I'msupposed to care about the

not really a critique, but it isis it was kind of defeated by a

I've read like 30 times Right.
If it has the word academy.
It's the same basic premise,but I couldn't get into the
puzzles.

and I can see how the dice land.

Academy and then is the best atthat MacGuffin to then defeat
the MacGuffin, and it's like awants-to-be-combat-but-isn't.
I definitely read a card game,one that wasn't Yu-Gi-Oh, that
had a similar premise and noimmediate other examples come to

It's like, okay, you need touse your puzzle powers to puzzle
, to beat the puzzles, but Idon't understand the puzzles.

actually really smart, but thesepuzzles meant nothing to me uh
well, yeah, that's definitely alanguage barrier because the
written languages betweenenglish and japanese are so
different.

language Uma and they're playingthat game where you link the
last letter to I remember thatchapter specifically and I don't
know why.
Yeah, so they link the lastletter to the first letter of
the next word.
But if you end with a certainJapanese syllable, you lose

haikyuu okay, ride or diehaikyuu.
Haikikyuu is amazing and Iunderstand why it's an anime
with no angst.
