🎙️ Today, we're excited to team up with Camille Maria Acosta, host and producer of "Floaties for Krakens," a podcast exploring the monsters inside our minds and bodies through folklore. 🧠👹 Camille helps us delve into the monsters we harbor within or hold dear.
Spencer will discuss Beetlejuice, one of his favorite characters. Beetlejuice is a conflicted, conniving trickster who pushes people away yet craves their presence. We explore how tricksters and anti-heroes, despite their flaws, are often relatable because they embody both good and bad, unlike the seemingly unattainable pure goodness of superheroes.
Dr. Naz will talk about El Chupacabra, chosen for its representation as an emotional or personal space vampire. These "vampires" are the toxic individuals who drain our happiness and joy, leaving us with their negative words and societal judgments. We all have this monster within us, replacing our positivity with harmful thoughts and emotions. Setting boundaries and choosing who surrounds us can help mitigate their impact.
We also address the sadness of living with these internal monsters and the importance of finding goodness and happiness despite life’s challenges. Our podcast believes that life is often difficult, and it's up to us to make it better through resilience, education, and finding good people. Sometimes, it also comes down to luck.
Check out Camille's podcast for more insightful discussions on the monsters within. She was a wonderful host, and we believe you’ll enjoy her work. Please support her by clicking on her information and recommending new guests. We'll have her on our podcast again to discuss her favorite scenes, movies, or films that resonated with her. 🌟
