the Bible. Now, I am not apreacher, I do not have a
preacher license. So obviously, just like everybody else, I want
to know the interesting storiesabout the Bible and how they
took place in the ancient times, which makes them still vital for
(01:28):
our lives today, walking withChrist and having a relationship
with God has to be the numberone priority that we all should
carry in this world today as westrive into society. And we walk
this journey on our destinationinto our purpose, allowing God
to use us individually makinghimself known as well as his
(01:49):
great word Sue all of us becausewe are all in this together. Now
if you are new here, I like toread out of the NIV version. And
you can simply read out of anyversion you choose to you can
check out any episode beforethis episode so that you can get
an idea of what this Bible studyclass has to offer. We are in

class 32, which means we've beendoing this for some time. So you
can simply check out any episodefrom one to 32 to check out how
we have been dipping and dive inthrough the Bible and just
reading the fascinating storiesthat took place in the times
that we were not even here. Butyet they are still vital and
preached all over the worldtoday. I want to just jump up in
(02:34):
today's class. And so grab yourBibles, you guys we are going
into Exodus last couple ofweeks. We were in Genesis, I was
gone obviously for past twoweeks. But nevertheless, I'm
here and I'm ready to dive intotoday's story. And we will be in
Exodus chapter three. The titleof today's class is Moses
(02:57):
encounter with God, I'm prettyintrigued is here.
What is going to go down inExodus when Moses encounter with
God, I'm not going to take uptoo much time. If you are ready,
I'm ready. Go ahead and grabyour Bibles. Again, you can read
out at any version you choose toI read over the NIV that's my
business, your business could besimply to read out of any
(03:17):
version you choose to. But let'sget this going. Exodus chapter
three, Moses encounter with Godthe title is Moses and the
burning bush. Now Moses wastending the flock of Jethro his
father in law, the priests ofMidian. And he led the flock to
the far side of the wildernessand came to horrid the mountain
(03:41):
of God, there the angel of theLord appeared to him in flames
of fire from within a bush.
Moses saw that though the Bushwas on fire, it did not burn up.
So Moses thought, I will go overand see this strange sight, why
the bush does not burn up. Whenthe Lord saw that he had gone
over to look God call to himfrom within the bush, Moses,
(04:03):
Moses. And Moses said, Here Iam, do not come any closer. God
said, and take off your sandalsfor the place where you are
standing is holy ground. Then hesaid, I am the God of your
father, the God of Abraham, theGod of Isaac, and the God of
Jacob. At this, Moses hid hisface because he was afraid to
(04:25):
look at God. The Lord said, Ihave indeed seen the misery of
my people in Egypt. I have heardthem crying out because of their
slave drivers and I am concernedabout their suffering. So I have
come down to rescue them fromthe hand of Egyptians and to
bring them up out of the landinto a good and spacious land a
land flowing with milk andhoney, the home of the
(04:48):
Canaanites hits a tight a moretight parasites and hematite and
Jebusites and now the cry of theIsraelites has reached me I have
seen the way the Egyptians areoppressing them. So now go, I am
sending you to Pharaoh to bringmy people, the Israelites out of
Egypt. But Moses said to God,Who am I that I should go to
(05:11):
Pharaoh and bring the Israelitesout of Egypt. And God said, I
will be with you. And this willbe the sign to you that it is I
who have sent you, when you havebrought the people out of Egypt,
you will worship God on thismountain, Moses said to God,
suppose I go to the Israelitesand say to them, the God of your
(05:32):
fathers has sent me to you. Andthey asked me, What is his name?
Then what should I tell them?
God said to Moses, I am who Iam, this is what you are to say
to the Israelites, I am has sentme to you. God also said to
Moses, Say to the Israelites, the Lord, the God of your
(05:53):
fathers, the God of Abraham, theGod of Isaac, and the God of
Jacob has sent me to you. Thisis my Name forever, the name you
shall call me from generation togeneration, verse 16, go
assemble the elders of Israeland say to them, the Lord, the
God of your fathers, the God ofAbraham, Isaac, and Jacob
(06:15):
appeared to me and said, I havewashed over you and seen what
has been done to you in Egypt.
And I have promised to bring youup out of your misery in Egypt,
into the land of the Canaanites,Hittites, a more tight
parasites, and hematite andJebusites, and land flowing with
milk and honey, the elders ofIsrael will listen to you, then
(06:36):
you and the elders article tothe king of Egypt and say to
Him, the Lord, the God of theHebrews has met with us, let us
take a three day journey intothe wilderness to offer
sacrifice to the Lord our God.
But I know that the king ofEgypt will not let you go unless
a mighty hand compels him. So Iwill stretch out my hand and
(07:00):
strike the Egyptians with allthe wonders that I will perform
among them. After that, he willlet you go, and I will make the
Egyptians favorably disposedtoward this people so that when
you leave, you will not go emptyhanded, every woman has to axe
her neighbor in any woman livingin her house for articles of
silver and gold and forclothing, which you will put on
(07:23):
your sons and daughters. And soyou will plunder the Egyptians.
And that is the end of ourchapter, you guys. Okay, now,
let's break it down. Anytime Icome in counter with God, I feel
like I'm in holy ground. And soespecially when I go into my
prayer closet, I'm making mybusiness take off my shoes,
because I felt like I'm standingon holy ground.
(07:44):
So let's break it down. Boom, now Moses was tending to his
flocks. He wasn't worried aboutnothing. He was doing what he
was supposed to to attend to hisfather flocks Jethro, which was
his father in law, the priestsof the media and he led the
flock to the far side of thewilderness and came to Horus,
the mountain of God. When he gotthere, the angel of the Lord of
(08:05):
Piltz appeared to him in flamesof fire. Now, I know throughout
this Bible, as I read throughdifferent stories, when the
angel of God appear hither comein flames he come out of
nowhere, he come, just scaringpeople. If I was to go somewhere
by a mountain, and I saw a bushburning, and it didn't burn up,
(08:27):
I would be sure, I woulddefinitely be question, you
know, what is this? So the angelof the Lord appeared to him in
flames of fire from within thebush, Moses is thinking, why is
this bush not burning up? Let mego check this bush out. Let me
see what's going on with this.
So as he's approaching the bush,God calls out to him like, I see
he, I see kind of close to me.
(08:49):
So let me call out say Moses,Moses, Moses, like, Here I am,
God is like, don't shoot comeany closer, my guy because, you
know, take off your sandals, because you're definitely
standing in holy ground. Godtold him like I am God, I'm the
God of your fathers, the father,Abraham, the father of Isaac,
(09:09):
the father of Jacob, the onesyou guys used to worship, you
know. And so at this point,Moses covered his face, he
didn't want to look at God. He'slike, Oh, my goodness, I'm in
standing in the presence of analmighty God, basically. And so
God is like, you know, you Igotta cover your face, but my
shirt and sandals is off. Makesure you're standing in his
place in peace because you'restanding on holy ground. So the
(09:31):
Lord said, like, I have seen youguys misery. I seen the way the
Egyptians are treating you guysover there. And I feel so bad
for you guys that I came torescue you. So Moses is like,
yeah, you know, it's really badfor our people there. I don't I
don't know what to do. God islike, Yeah, I know. I came. I
(09:51):
see what's going on. That's whyI'm here, but I'm going to send
you to let them people go. I gota great place for you to go
among. On the Canaanites, theHittites, some more ties,
parasites, hepatitis andJebusites. And when you get to
this place is going to beflowing with milk and honey. So
God is like I'm sending you toPharaoh. And you're gonna tell
(10:12):
him to let the people go. Mosesis like, who am I, that I should
go to Pharaoh and bring theIsraelites out of Egypt? God
probably is thinking like, youare the person that I chose. But
since you don't think thatyou're worthy, just to let you
know, I'm gonna be by your side, and I'm gonna be with you. And
this is what you need to go do,or whatever. So God is like,
(10:35):
look, when you bring thesepeople out, or when you bring to
Israel, the Israelites out ofEgypt, you and the Israelites
are going to worship me on thismountain right here that I'm
talking to you on. So Moses islike, what am I to say to the
people of the Israelites? Whatam I supposed to tell them?
Suppose I go to the Israelitesand say to them, the God of your
(10:57):
fathers has sent me thegodfather of Abraham, Isaac, and
Jacob has sent me to you, whatis his name? Then what should I
tell them? God said to Moses, tell them I am who I am, I am
has sent you. You don't need tosay no more, because this is
going to be my name amongstgenerations and generations,
(11:17):
this is my Name forever andever, the name you should call
me I am going to send you and Iam who I am. And I am whatever I
say I am basically goddess, like, Look, you want to keep
getting oppressed by theEgyptians, then you need to do
what I say if you don't want tokeep getting oppressed by the
Egyptians, okay? Tell them I amHess has sent you God also said
(11:40):
to Moses, Say to the Israelites, the Lord, the God of your
fathers, the God of Abraham, theGod of Isaac, and the God of
Jacob has sent me to you, okay?
And they will know who I am,trust me and believe, go
assemble to the elders of Israeland say to them, the Lord, the
God of your fathers, Abraham,Isaac, and Jacob appears to me
and said, I have watched overyou and I have seen what has
(12:03):
been done to you in Egypt. And Ihave promised to bring you up
out of your misery in Egypt intothe land of the Canaanite, the
Hittites, the Emirates, the theparasites, the hepatitis and
Jebusites. Now, I don't know ifI'm saying these names, right. I
could be butchering them. Butyou know what, it's a whole lot
of it. And he was even trying toget the Israelites out, okay.
(12:25):
But that's how I see it. And hewas trying to get into a place
of, of a nice land flowing withmilk and honey. Now, I'm
not sure if it's real milk andhoney, but I'm thinking is the
luxury of, you know, you guyswould never have to be thirsty,
and it's going to be sweet, it'sgoing to be very sweet. Like,
you guys are going to have asweet life. That's how I'm
(12:47):
thinking of it. So I can bewrong. Of course, he tell him
Moses, like look, the elders, they will listen to you because
they know that it is written abook, but they gonna listen to
you. So don't even trip Moses, just go over there and do what I
say and let him know I am hassent you, you. And the elders
are to go to the king, and sayto Him, the Lord, the God of the
(13:09):
Hebrews has met with us. And weneed to take a three day journey
into the wilderness to offersacrifices to the Lord our God.
But I know the King, I know he'sstubborn, and I know hang on,
want to let you go. So he gonnagive you a hard time. And I know
that he ain't gonna let you gounless he see a great hand a
(13:32):
mighty hand that compels him. SoI, the Lord will stretch out my
hand and I will strike theEgyptians slapping him from left
to right, beating them from leftto right, with all the wonders,
the works that I will performamong them. And after that,
trust me, bro, he will let yougo, okay. And then I will make
(13:54):
the Egyptians favorably disposedtowards towards you guys, so
that when you leave, you wouldnot go empty handed. So every
woman is to ask every neighborat any woman living in her house
for articles of silver and gold, and for clothes, which you will
put on your children, your sonsand daughters, and you will
(14:15):
plunder the Egyptians. So notonly will you guys be set free,
but you guys ain't leavingwithout taking something because
they're gonna give it to yousilver, go close. Whatever it is
that you need, they're going togive you what you need for your
trip. And that was the end ofour chapter. You guys we don't
we don't get to see whathappened after this. We don't
(14:36):
get to see the wonders of theLord happened. It basically
stops at God and Moses beingintroduced to each other and God
given Moses the opportunity andthe job to set the Israelites
free. Now if I was Moses, I'llbe thinking, I am not cut for
this job. I know for sure I'mnot gonna go to these Israelites
(14:57):
and say, look, the Lord came tome He said, It's time for y'all
to get up and fight. Because wegotta go, we gotta leave
Egyptians. And I know I can't goto the king until it came to let
these people go is this 1000sand 1000s of people that he have
slaving over here in Egypt? I'mjust Moses, what am I to do? I
can only imagine what Moses wasfeeling like at the time getting
(15:22):
those instructions from God,like, Do you ever wonder if your
shortcomings disqualify you forwhat God wants you to do? Moses
wasn't disqualified because Godhad this job for him. He
actually gave Moses have aqualifying job for him. But
Moses felt like he was notqualified enough. He felt like
(15:42):
he didn't have the skills, thetools or the voice to try to set
these people free. He didn'teven have an idea what was up
for this task? Like, he just gotthrown in the task, and he think
it's warm. So what am I supposedto do? It's very interesting how
God sometimes put us inpositions that we feel that we
(16:02):
may not qualify for. I know forme, that I do so much trying to
get myself into a betterposition that God is constantly
telling me to stay focused onHim. Every time I look somewhere
else, he reminded me stayfocused on me, they focus on the
tasks that I have at hand foryou, which I constantly forget,
(16:24):
is to walk this journey withGod, I'm so caught up in trying
to make a better life for myselfthat God is like, well, if you
got to make a better life foryourself, I can make a better
life for you. Because you'retrusting you and you're
dependent on you. If I give youa task, I need you to know that
you're qualify for it. That'sbeen the hardest thing for me is
keeping this task keeping thisone faithful task is to walk
(16:49):
this journey with God Hand inHand every day, I just tried to
admit with myself and be honestwith myself, like, it sounds so
easy, you know, to staypositive, it sounds so easy to
try to stay on that right trackwith God. But I kid you not, it
is not the easiest thing to do.
Because flesh tries to take overhe tries to control what's going
(17:09):
to happen, or even trying tomanifest things that I want that
may not be good for me. And soI'm constantly reminded that
whatever God have in store foryou best believe that you
qualify for the position, because there's times when I
don't even feel like I should bereading the Bible. Sometimes I
feel like I don't qualify toread the Bible. I'm not a
(17:31):
preacher, I do this for myself.
I do read the Bible so that Ican have an insight on God, I'm
sharing with people because Ihave that opportunity to do so.
But to keep it real, I'm not apreacher. I'm nobody's preacher.
I go to church every now andthen. I'm just not a fake
Krishna, should I say, I makemistakes, I have sins, I cuss I
(17:54):
smoke. I'm not perfect. I have adrink or whatever. But when it
comes to walking with God, Ijust try to be authentic with
that I don't try to fake andflaunt and, and pretend like you
know, I got it all figured out.
Because I know that God is doingthings in my life that sometimes
I don't even still qualify for,I promise you I don't. I've
received plenty of license thatmaybe I didn't think that I
(18:17):
qualify for. And yet as Icontinue to take on his take on
his journey with God, heconstantly showed me like, if I
say do something, if I tell youto do something best believe
that I'm going to be with you.
You don't have to worry aboutthe outcome, or you don't have
to worry about what's going tohappen next. I just need you to
put your foot forward. And trustme, it hasn't been easy. Should
(18:40):
I say and I would hate to makeit seem like it's so easy. And I
get on my podcast and be actinglike you know, I'm just this
faithful walking person withChrist like Nobre this stuff is,
it is easy. It's not it's noteasy. It's hard, you know, and
by the grace of God, I'mthankful for the opportunity to
walk this journey trust andbelieve like that, like so every
(19:01):
story that I dive into, I triedto put myself in that position.
I try to try to see like youknow, if this was if I was the
person that God was talking to,in this case, it was Moses he
was minding his businessattendant to the flight
attendant to attendant to hisfather in law Spock at that he
decided to walk the flock closeto the Far East and he just so
(19:22):
happened to get too close to ato the mountain gods mountain
and now he see a burning bushthe whole time is God you know
the angel is the angel of Godgiving him a position giving him
a task to do that hedidn't even feel he qualified
for I feel him on that I feelbeing set up in positions and
places and things that I don'tfeel qualified for a boy and
God's sake do something he gonnabe with you he really do mean
(19:45):
that he like he really doabsolutely mean that I've been
battling with myself on thisjourney. I'm not perfect,
nobody's perfect. And I hate toact like I am. I'm not I am a
sinner just like everybody else.
But I take pride in being ableto have this one on one time
(20:06):
with God. I mean, it's not evenjust one on one time with God,
but just being able to read thestories, you know, and making my
businesses just put it out thereand show people that we are all
the same. And we're all in thesame boat. God is working on me
just like keep working on you.
The only thing that I can sayfor me is to not lose sight of
what God is doing in my life.
And I'm not talking likematerial things in my life, I'm
(20:28):
talking about like actuallychanging me from the inside out
changing things in my life, thatI know that I can do it with
myself. And I know that it's notthe people that's doing it like
it's by the grace of God, thatthings are happening the way
that they happen. And so life isshort, the task at hand has just
always been to put God first totrust what God is doing, and to
(20:51):
keep pushing to move forward, continue to work, because he
needs to have faith, just allowGod to get the glory. Like God
said in the story, will youbring the Israelites out of
Egypt, you guys are gonnaworship me here on this
mountain. And for me, it's likewherever God take me, I just
want to be able to worship him,my good, my bad, my ups, my
downs, when I'm happy when I'mnot happy. Like I just want to
(21:13):
be able to worship Him. I wantto be ever to give God the glory
for all for anything that I do.
Anything that I put my mind to,I want to be able to give God
that glory. And as he continuedto just make way in my life, to
show me him being in God'spresence, being on holy ground
is just, it's a gift. It's agift for us to cherish. It's a
gift for us to honor and it's agift for us to embrace and to
(21:34):
share with one another. Andthat's the whole purpose of this
podcast is just to share withyou guys that God is real.
However you choose to get inrelationship with God, that's
your business. I am not apreacher, I cannot tell you how
to store a relationship withGod, how to get one with God,
what I can tell you is that I'myour cousin and Christ and trust
(21:54):
and believe. I noticed journeyeasy is walking easy. But with
God by our side, we can do allthings through Christ that
strengthens us, let us be knownthat our flesh is weak, okay,
our flesh is mad we we need theSpirit of God, we need the
Spirit of Christ, we need JesusChrist's blood to write in us to
pour through us to move throughus so that we could connect one
(22:17):
with one another, and just havelove for one another, stop
killing each other and justshare the goodness and grace of
God help each other. When whenwe can. Like it's a big deal.
There's a lot of people that'sin misery, there's a lot of
people that same pain as thathurt that needs to be pulled
out. And he's using usindividually in different
scenarios in differentsituations to be that person to
(22:40):
pull people out of situations, scenarios and situations that we
don't think we qualify for. Idon't know, for me how many
people that I touch with mypodcast, but I do know that I
have listeners, I do know thatmy podcast get played. I'm not
sure if the words of reading theBible resonates with people that
are coming from me that'spulling people out of
(23:02):
situations. I'm not sure whatGod is doing, but I trust them.
And I know that without God'shands on my side, I know that I
can do a whole lot of things.
And I thank God that I have thisopportunity to share this with
you guys. And so you know, it'sjust been a blessing for me.
It's been great for me as I'mable to read the Bible and dive
into each chapter each week andjust get an insight of the story
(23:26):
and look at my life and see justlike Moses not feeling qualified
for something. But when Godgives you a task they have to
do, he's going to be by yourside, the goal is to trust Him
and move on task is to say,Okay, God, what's up? What's
next? What are we doing? Andthat's what I'm on right now. So
I appreciate Exodus chapterthree, as I understand the
(23:47):
counter Moses had with God inthe burning bush or just
standing on holy ground is giventhat task that bringing people
out Moses definitely don't feelqualified for it. So the
question is, do you ever wonderif your shortcomings disqualify
you for what God wants you todo?
Unknown (24:03):
I know I didn't, I can
really too much dive deep into
it right now. But I have more totalk about in a few more
Juantrell Lovette (24:09):
weeks. But I
know there's a lot of things I
don't feel qualify for based onmy shortcoming based on where I
come from Robin, my my situationmy whole upbringing as a lot of
things that I don't feelqualified for, even when it
comes to certain relationshipswith people and being in certain
places I don't feel qualifiedfor but every time God has
reminded me that like youqualify for what I tell you to
(24:31):
qualify for, so don't you ever, ever feel Like your shortcomings
and stopping you? I've hadsituations like that up past
scenarios like that, and to seethem play out and say, You know
what, I need to stop acting likeGod ain't doing what he's doing
and I need to just continue totrust them. So what's up God,
let's go let's move. Can youguys that was today's episode,
so don't be afraid to share thismessage with somebody you know,
(24:52):
we all need the love and theencouragement and just the words
from God to just resonate intoour spirit to be better It's a
bit just be a better person, youdon't know what you can do. You
don't know what will happen andwhat world you can change by
just allowing God to lead theway, trusting him, send his
message to anybody that you feelmay benefit from it. Go ahead
(25:12):
and check out any episode beforethis so you can get an idea and
just check out any episodebefore this because all the
classes are good. All thehackers are good. And until next
week, you guys I'm your cousinand Christ. Want to love it and
I will talk to you next week.
