study. If you are new here, I'dlike to welcome you to the
number one Bible study classthat you will ever come across.
And if you are not new here, youalready know how we get down as
we dive into the Bible and reada chapter a week and get the
understanding of how the Bibleis so vital for our lives, how
(01:12):
it's preached all over theworld, and just the grace
stories in the Bible that giveus an explanation of how God is
working in our lives today. Ithink the stories in our Bible
are so important to read and notjust throw out scripture. So it
is very important for me to diveinto the Bible and get the
understanding that I needbecause I know that sometimes
scripture can be thrown in thewrong context. And it can mean
(01:37):
and saying the wrong thing, especially given it to me when
you don't have the knowledge ofwhat God is speaking to me
about. So this Bible study classis very important for anybody
that wants to walk inrelationship with that, but just
don't know how don't know whereto go or don't have an
understanding or even do have anunderstanding, even if you are a
veteran and just need a newrefreshed star of how to walk in
(02:00):
relationship with God, thisBible study class is just for
you. Okay, I'm related to youthrough Christ. And I could say
sisters and brothers, butcousins to me some more better,
because I just feel like that itdoes. That's my business. But if
you are ready, we are in Episodeclass 38. If you are new here,
(02:23):
then you want to get anunderstanding of how this works.
And you don't want to jump intothis episode, then go ahead and
check out the other episodesbefore so you can see and kind
of catch up where we are. We arein the Old Testament of the
Bible, and just seeing therelationships and walks of how
God moved through the Bible atthat time and how he still moves
(02:43):
through our lives and throughour lives today. And so we don't
have any Bible version youchoose. So it can be mobile
payment back any version youchoose to. That's your business,
I read out an NIV version.
That's my business, I jump inand out of the Bible through
chapters. And I have this borderhere is called a tracker, which
is tracking my progress of howI'm going through the stories
and I decided to take you alongwith me. Oh, hi. So don't be
(03:06):
trying to leave and ditch andtrying to turn this off. We need
God together. I think unity isvery important, especially in
this crazy world today. So goahead, grab your Bibles, your
phone, open up the Bible app, orjust go ahead and type it in
your browser. Whatever the case,we will be in job 38. And the
title for our chapter is Godanswers to Joe. Now this is our
(03:28):
first time diving into job likeI said, but we are going to get
an understanding of what we needabout this chapter. If you are
ready, I am too and yeah, let'sgo job. 38 The Lord speaks verse
one. Then the Lord spoke to Jobout of the storm. He said who is
this that obscures my plan withwords without knowledge? Bryce
(03:52):
shows self like a man, I willquestion you and you should
answer me. Where were you when Ilaid the earth foundation? Tell
me if you understand who markedoff is dimensions Surely you
know, who stretched a measuringline across the On what were its
footage that are who laid itscornerstone while the morning
(04:15):
stars sang together and all theangels shouted for joy, who shut
up the scene behind doors whenit burst forth from the womb.
When I made the clouds itsgarment and wrapped it in thick
darkness when I fixed limits forit and set its doors and bars in
place. When I said this far, youmay come in no farther here is
(04:35):
where your proud waves halt.
Have you ever given orders tothe morning are shown the dawn
is placed that it might take theearth by the edges and shake the
wicked out of it. The Earthtakes shape like play under a
seal its features stand out likethose of a garment. The wicked
are denied their light and theirupraised arm is broken. Have you
(04:58):
journey to the springThings of the sea are walked in
the recesses of the deep havethe gates of death been shown to
you? Have you seen the gates ofthe deepest darkness? Have you
comprehended the vast expansesof the earth? Tell me if you
know all this, what is the wayto the abode a light? And where
does darkness resides? Can youtake them to their places? Do
(05:19):
you know the path to theirdwellings? Surely you know for
you are already born you havelives so many years have you
entered the store houses of thesnow are seen the store houses
of the hail which are reservedfor times of trouble for days of
war and battle? What is the wayto the place where the lightning
is dispersed, or the place wherethe east winds are scattered
(05:42):
over the earth? Who cuts achannel for the torrents of rain
and a path for the thunderstormto water a land where no one
lives and uninhabited desert tosatisfy a desolate wasteland and
make a sprout with grass? Doesthe rain have a father who
father's the drop subdue fromwhose womb comes the ice? Who
gives birth to the frost fromthe heaven when the waters
(06:05):
become hard as stone when thesurface of the deep is frozen?
Can you bind the chains of theplanets? Can you loosen oriens
bill? Can you bring forth theconstellations in their seasons
or lead out the bear with theCubs? Do you know the laws of
the heavens? Can you set upGod's dominion over the earth?
Can you raise your voice to theclouds and cover yourself with
(06:27):
the flood of water? Do you sendthe lightning boats on their
way? Do they report to you herewe are who gives the best wisdom
or gives the roosterunderstanding? Who has the
wisdom to count the clouds whocan tip over the water jars of
the heavens when the dustbecomes hard and the clouds of
Earth stuck together? Do youhunt the prey for the lioness
(06:50):
and satisfy the hunger of thelions when they crouch in their
dens or lie in wait and thicket?
Who provides food for the Ravenwhen it's young cry out to God
and wonder about for lack offood. And that is the end of our
chapter? Well guy has a lot ofquestions. So let's break it
down. Boom. So I just wanted tosay oh my goodness, what a lot
(07:14):
of questions guy had in chapter38 And the questions actually
carry on but we don't get tocarry on to Chapter 39 It looks
like in our study we are movingover to Psalm so let's break it
down. God speaks to job at lastjob gets what he has demanded
Who is this that obscures myplans were worse without
(07:36):
knowledge and a span of a fewdays job experience more tragedy
than most people encounter in alifetime. He cannot even suffer
with dignity for he has toendure his wife tots and his
friends lectures. Nearly everyargument on a problem of pain
appears somewhere in the book ofJob but the arguing never seems
(07:57):
to help poor job. He issuffering a crisis of
relationships more than a crisisof intellectual doubt. But
through it all, Jove steadfastlyrefuses to turn his back on God
he has only one request to hearfrom God in person. He wants an
explanation straight from thesource. So our last job gets his
(08:19):
wish God answers job with aspeech often quoted for his
majesty and beauty and a touchof sweet irnd. God makes His
interest just as a leader who isexplaining why Joe cannot expect
a direct answer from God. Godtalks in Job Listen, Joe has
(08:39):
saved up a long list ofquestions but it is God who
asked the questions not Joe Brayshow self like a man God began.
I will question you and youshall answer me. American writer
Frederick vishna sums up whatfollows God doesn't explain he
explodes. He asked Joe who hethinks he is. Anyway, he says
(09:03):
that to try to explain the kindof thing job wants to explain
will be like trying to explainEinstein to a little neck clamp.
God does not need Job's oranyone else's advice on how to
run the world. Brushing aside 35chapters worth of debates on the
problem of pain, God plungesinstead into a dazzling poem on
(09:26):
the wonders of the naturalworld. God points out one by one
works of creation of which he isproud. In effect God X job would
you like to run the universe fora while? Go ahead, try designing
an ostrich or mountain goat oreven a snowflake guy was being
very sarcastic when asking thesequestions because he knew that
(09:49):
Job had a list of questions toask him. So instead, God said
look, brace yourself becauseit's about to go down. Not only
do I have all these questionsSo as you you're going to listen
to me, you're going to answer.
And I'm sure at the end of thelong list of questions that Joe
may have wanted to ask God,every question on that list
(10:13):
probably was already answered byGod asking job questions. It was
not the expected message thatJob was expecting, nor was he
thinking are realizing that hewas going to get an opportunity
to even ask God these questions.
So Astonishingly, the questionof suffering does not even come
up in God's speech. Yes, somehowjob scenes satisfied and
(10:36):
humiliated at the same time, actually, because surely I spoke
of things I did not understand.
He confessed things toowonderful for me to know. And I
was in chapter 42, which wedon't get into. I'm sure after
the questions that got askedJoe, like, I'm not sure of what
(10:59):
really went down in the book ofJoe, because we haven't gotten
there yet. But just based off ofthis chapter, I'm sure we all
have a lot of questions to askScott. And I know for me a lot
of times is why me to ask thatquestion to God, why me and not
to understand his answer, itwill be silly for me to continue
(11:19):
to ask the question, if I don'topen my ears or my heart to hear
God answer me and give me theanswer that I need to say, This
is why you so he's given me theopportunity to understand this
chapter. Because for a lot oftimes, I do want to question God
about some things that happen.
But when I take the time out,and I get ready to question him,
(11:41):
I know before it wasn't likethis, but nowadays, when I do
take the timeout question, sometimes the answer comes
straight to my heart. And yes, there have been times when I've
tried to block out the answerthat I may have wanted to
receive from God, when God isconstantly already pouring in to
(12:02):
me the answers they alreadydone, everything is already done
in our lives, and to reallyunderstand and experienced that,
for me is like, you gotta walkin relationship with God, you
gotta be hand in hand with him.
Because if you take this journeywith him, he's definitely
speaking with you. He's movingwith you, if not even moving
(12:22):
through you like God is alwayswith us. A lot of times for me,
I like to question him about youknow, why I'm not here why I'm
not doing this, why I'm notdoing that, why I'm not doing
it. And then the whole time,I've already got the answer
already got the reason why Ialready got the knowledge that I
need. But still, I have thisthing inside of me that still
(12:42):
want to push that guy just takenon his story. It just makes me
realize why that sometimes I canjust sit there and peace and let
God ask me questions. Want toknow why are you not doing this?
Why are you not moving on thisspace? Why are you not going
there? Why are you not linkingup these folks? Why are you not
networking? Why are you notpushing your business? Why
(13:04):
you're not? Like there's a lotof things that I'm sure guy want
to ask me that? I know that Ihave the answer for that I
probably will be humiliated if Itry to even answer him because I
know that he gives me the toolsthat I need to proceed in his
world. And for a lot of us,sometimes we let fear are the
understanding of what we don'tknow get in the way of, you
(13:27):
know, coming into question andGod like God is not going to
come down and give us a milliondollars. But yeah, he gave us
the knowledge and tools neededto set ourselves up to make a
million dollars. Like if Godgave you breath today that he
gave you an opportunity to getup and start something new. And
I'm talking to myself, I'm notpreaching to nobody else. I'm
talking to myself, because Ineed to tell myself this because
(13:49):
even all my lazy days, I need toget up and do something that's
going to put me in a betterposition. I need to realize that
like we all fall short inplaces, and we all want to
question God's motive are God'sreason and not even really want
to take the accountability ofalready having the answer like
God already gave us the answer.
You give us a tool to give useverything that we need to
(14:11):
proceed. So I'm sure in thischapter, I don't know for you,
but I know for me to even get anunderstanding of job and what
was going on with him. For himto have to go through all that
suffering, being taunted by hiswife and being lectured by his
friend and still not turning hisback on God. Instead, he had a
long list for God. And as all ofus when we go into our prayer,
(14:34):
or when we want to question Godare we fill in a certain type of
way, we all have a list of Godand the moment may not be long,
and it may not be short. It maynot be wherever but the fact
that we all want to questionGod's motive and here it is. And
Joe, you can open up your Bibleand you can see God answering a
lot of things like when I watchnature, when I look at nature,
(14:56):
I'm really amazed by it.
because a lot of people like toput science of a god but for me
as God created a science tocreate all things he gave it a
possibility to even understandand and it just, it brings me to
such honesty to know like, wow,our God is amazing. Our God is
(15:18):
magnificent and you can be fromany background you could be from
anywhere around the world, andyet we still share the same
creator is just beautiful. And Ireally appreciate having the
opportunity to dive into theBible and get this
understanding. So above all,God's speech defines the vast
difference between the God ofall creation in one puny human
(15:39):
being like Joe got reeled offnatural phenomenon, the solar
system, constellations,thunderstorms, wild animals that
show cannot begin to explain.
God point is clear. If you can'tcomprehend a visible world you
live in? How dare you expect tocomprehend a world you can't
even see. The question is thisguy replied to joke surprise
(16:02):
you, if you were in jokes place, what kind of answer would you
have wanted from God? I wouldsay, I don't know the answer
that I would want from God.
Because I would think that Godalready answered me, that is a
tricky question. You know, whenyou really think about it, think
(16:22):
about it. You know, if you werein job position, what answer
would you want from God, Godstarted laying it all out, he
started breaking it down, notthat he was being sarcastic or
trying to be sarcastic. Butsarcasm was in the picture here
as he started laying out like, whose father the drop of do like
from whose womb come the ice whogives birth to the frost from
(16:44):
the heavens when the watersbecome harder stone like I
started kind of like talking hissmack, because he know that we
all have questions. We all wantto question his ability or his
reasoning of why the goes down, the reason why I go down, but
I'm so thankful. And I'm sograteful to have this
opportunity to walk inrelationship with him to be able
to go into the Bible that isavailable for all of us,
(17:09):
everybody has the opportunity todo that. But not just go into
the Bible to actually take thesestories and let God do something
different in your life by reallyspeaking to you and giving you
the answer that you could bequestioning him about. And it's
so beautiful to see becauseevery day we have these
challenges of wanting to getsomething from God and I'm sure
(17:30):
we already got it. We justhaven't gotten to that place yet
to receive it. Not saying likeit's the honor like bragging
about it. But every day, everychapter, every step, every
movement, every encounter, everyperson, every job, every
opportunity, every breath is agift from God, something that we
(17:52):
could question but then we knowwho to think for it is like
everything has happened in theworld around the world yet we
want to say oh, a lot of peopleif God loved this or he did
this, why is this happening?
Like those people are ignorantpeople like that are ignorant it
we shouldn't indulge ourselveswith conversations where we have
the questions God ability, God'sreasoning, God's love, His
(18:16):
protection is healing like it'sall in and we all know that we
have an expiration date here. Soour purpose is to walk every day
and journey of trying to unitewhat God's purpose is for one
another. And when I lookoutside, just see how wicked and
evil the world is, is sometimesso disgusting, that it makes me
(18:37):
sick to sometimes live on thisplanet. But yeah, I think about
people like me and I think aboutother good people that have it
in them are who do have arelationship with God and who
want to walk in the purpose thatHe stands for them then it makes
it worth it to continue theirjourney you know, and and I
don't know why sometimes I thinklike that don't don't come judge
(19:01):
me or anything but sometimesthey happens like that. So it
was very great to dive into jobyou know, sometimes it's very
hard to understand the Bible oreven a simple verse or chapter
are a scripture because peopletend to give knowledge about God
in their own perspective. But Isay let God work through you and
walk relationship with God sothat he can give it to you
(19:24):
individually because what hecould be talking to me about
about job 38 He could be talkingto you different about job 38
Again, does not reply the jobsurprise you Who is this that
obscures my plan with wordswithout knowledge we all have
these questions. We all want toknow how God works but to be
able to explain to try toexplain the kind of things job
(19:47):
once explained will be liketrying to explain is fine to a
little neck clamp. I thinksometimes it God is
unexplainable and even to whenit comes in being in person with
Somebody are seeing them and Ican't really put a relationship
on people I can throw my godrelationship on people. I can't
(20:07):
force people to have arelationship like I have what
God is like, that's yourbusiness. You have to want to
walk in relationship with God.
That's the only way that you canunderstand our know how this
life thing works. And for me isGod come first, and then
everything comes after. And so Istay on a narrow path that he
has designed for me and heshines a light for me to be able
(20:28):
to focus on him and that's whatmatters to me. So you guys, you
guys been diving with me today?
It was very short and beautifuland lovely. As we dive into the
book of Job and we got anunderstanding that questions are
sometimes answered already inthe question. All you have to do
is listen, pay attention andtalk with God and get his
(20:50):
answers. See what he says toyou. It's already there as
planet for you. Share thismessage with somebody who you
feel could benefit from it. Andgo ahead and check us out on
social media things will bechanging and vamping up for the
New Year. Happy New Year toeveryone out there every day is
an opportunity and it's a giftand I'm so grateful and thankful
to be able to be here so I'mglad you guys tune in to me it
(21:15):
is such an honor to be your hostand cousin through Christ. I am
one trial a bat and this isbougie Bible studies until the
new year of 23 you guys
