If I had a dime for every time a woman has told me she reconnected with a guy she knew when she was younger and things went south, I would be SO RICH!
Can this work out sometimes?
Of course!
But it most often doesn’t and here’s why:
When you let your feelings of attraction run the show instead of asking the right questions, you’re setting yourself up for disappointment.
Vetting the men you date and asking questions is ESSENTIAL, but women are often afraid to do this.
We also tend to give people we knew and had a connection with in the past a lot more leeway than a new person, to our own peril.
Just because you knew him before, had feelings for him, even dated or were in love, doesn’t mean he wants what you want in life right now or won’t break your heart.
It’s always up to you to have your own back in life and ask questions.
Life and love has gotten more complicated in recent years and tends to get more complicated when we’re older in general.
We have more at stake, and dating isn’t what it was like back in the day.
Resist the temptation to take a shortcut by reconnecting with an old flame.
You still need to do the hard work of knowing what you want, asking the right questions and having your own back.
It’s up to you to do this for yourself.
I help all my clients learn how to vet the men they date so that they can create the lasting love they really want.
There are so many wonderful men who would love to meet you, so let’s get you out there. If you’d like my free guide to help you start dating better men, click here.
