Speaker 1 (00:00):
Good morning. You're listening to one O two nine Hot Tomato.
We are Gaily and Emily J. He's the Gaily bit,
the Emily J bit.

Speaker 2 (00:07):
Hi.

Speaker 1 (00:10):
Now, anytime you join the show, we like to reward
you and you're going to want to win this. We've
got tickets to Sister Act, the musical opening next week
for a strictly limited season at the Lyric Theater at Quepak.
And it's inspired by the iconic film will be his
film and starring Casey Donovan, who we love as well.
So you do not want to miss this one.

Speaker 2 (00:29):
Yes, So to get involved, you've got to talk to
us about eggs basically to try and.

Speaker 1 (00:35):
Win that hard win, hard win.

Speaker 2 (00:37):
Yeah, okay, So I do the shopping. I do the
food shopping for our house. I love that and when
I'm there, I've got my routine, even in the Woolworths
that I go to.

Speaker 1 (00:49):
Can I ask a quick question, did you do the
shopping evolve because of our hours or did it evolve
so that you can purchase stuff and then hide them
from and so she doesn't know your dirty little snacks secrets.

Speaker 2 (01:00):
There's a little bit of a combination of everything. Really,
isn't there in your motive for shopping. No, We've all
got and does a hell of a lot, and she
doesn't like doing the groceries, so I do I do
that good for you? So anyway, I'm always going to
the fridge where the eggs are lately, and sometimes there
might be one cart and left or two cards, and

(01:22):
it might be the eggs that you don't want to get,
or it's been the last two times it was fully empty.
So my timing was way out, and I'm thinking, what
the hell's going on with the eggs. I know there's
a little few sort of little stories wandering around, but
I'm not sort of been interested enough to actually follow
up and find out. But I just want to know

(01:43):
how people are being affected with the shorty eggs, shortage
of eggs, and what they're actually doing to get them,
like are they going without or are they finding are
they sourcing them from somewhere else? Like call up and
let us know.

Speaker 1 (01:57):
So I know all the answers. But can I shed
two things before we go to the calls? Yes. The
first thing is if you shop online, which I do,
I have had no problems getting eggs in my order,
but that's.

Speaker 2 (02:10):
A discrimination against people that turn up to the shop.

Speaker 1 (02:12):
It could be, but I feel like that because you've
placed the online order and they've taken it that perhaps
as soon as the eggs come in, they're going to
all the people who are ordering on.

Speaker 2 (02:21):
So for all those listening, if you've had no eggs,
it's EJ's.

Speaker 1 (02:25):
Fault, definitely. The other thing is is that you know,
go to the farmer's markets and stuff like that, they
seem to be having.

Speaker 2 (02:32):
No problems local. Yes, that what it is?

Speaker 1 (02:35):
Yes, yes, because the issue with the eggs, do you
want to tell you what it is? Do you want
to wait for someone else to call up and tell
you what it is? Well?

Speaker 2 (02:42):
I should have asked you probably before.

Speaker 1 (02:45):
It's because of the bird flu that went through.

Speaker 2 (02:48):
Is that the only reason?

Speaker 1 (02:49):
Yeah, they had to unfortunately get rid of all of
those chickens, and so they're waiting for new chalks to
grow up, essentially to lay. But the people that have
that particular eggory, I don't know what they're actually called.
They want to take call I go with Ey've made up, yes,

(03:09):
but they surface all of the big supermarkets. So if
you someone that shops at the farmers markets, you're buying
direct from the farmers and all the little farmers around.
So I've had no problem like going to the Hottter
markets and the two different locations. Yes you do, mate,
but anyway, let's if anyone else has got some secrets,
So give us a call double five seven, one, one
oh two nine. How are you getting around the egg

(03:30):
shortage that is happening?

Speaker 2 (03:31):
And if you know other reasons other than.

Speaker 1 (03:33):
Just that, yes, okay, and we'll give you those tickets
to Sister Act the musical. Give us a call now,
