and others, whilst also pavingthe way for humanity at large to
be reimagined and inspired tobecome the very best version of
itself.

(00:49):
Hello, and welcome to theintegrated wisdom podcast.
Thank you so much for joining mefor yet another episode.
I cannot for the life of be,believe that we are at the end
of 2024.
This time next week, it's goingto be Christmas.
Can you believe it?
We are, has a year gone.
Right?
I feel like we say this everyyear.

(01:09):
But there is definitelysomething going on time is
definitely speeding up yearafter year.
No doubt about it.
but just like last year I wantedto do the final episode of the
year.
As a retrospective of the year, that was.
Highlight some moments that Iwas really proud of.
Some things that I.

(01:30):
Yeah.
I wish it would have gone alittle bit differently.
And give you a sneak peek ofwhat my plans are for these
podcasts next year.
So thank you for, for tuning infor this last one for 2024.
So this year has been.
Just the biggest rollercoasterin every sense of the word,

(01:53):
there have been some amazinghighs.
I've had, you know, My programwas launched earlier this year
and I had the most amazingexperience.
Working with the ladies thatjoined to the course.
And subsequently continue onwith a peer consultation group.

(02:13):
That we ended only a couple ofweeks ago.
Uh, we have a final session.
A couple of weeks ago.
And it's been amazing becauseit's allowed me to, to stay
grounded and focused indisseminating, you know, this
spiritual information to reallydigging deeper into the research
that's available.

(02:33):
and it's brought so much joy tome to be able to have
conversations like this.
The, the episodes that have beenon this year, they've been.
Many have been really excitingfor me to share.
this was the year I started.
Having psychologists joined meonce a month or the soulful

(02:54):
chats when we've been talkingabout individual.
Journeys with spirituality and.
It's been very humbling for me.
To listen to some of thesewomen.
Share their experiences, theirinsights, their knowledge.
and I hope that you have enjoyedit as much as I have this.
Be some of the many interestingand valuable.

(03:16):
information and.
Perspectives that have be sharedthroughout this year.
And it's definitely being acrowd favorite and it's a
segment that will continue nextyear for sure.
And I think some of the topicsthat I really feel proud of
speaking to over the year, a lotof the research that we've been

(03:39):
digging deeper into.
You know, in terms of the, notjust the neuroscientific.
Uh, advances that are beingmade.
In terms of showing the benefitsof having a spiritual practice
to mental health and physicalhealth.
But even some of the advancesthat have been happening in the
quantum sciences.

(04:00):
So quantum biology, quantumphysics, Uh, you know, we spoke
about.
Some theories emerging and some, some early.
Research that's being supportingideas around the fact that our
soul or our consciousness existsoutside our brain.

(04:20):
Oh, which.
Which was fascinating for me toread and something I really
cherished being able to sharewith you all.
I talked about.
The advances in technology andin AI in terms of.
Producing.
Uh, tools to enable people toreach heightened states of

(04:42):
awareness.
Um, through the use oftechnology mimicking the effects
of psychoactives.
So that was an interestingconversation to be had.
Um, we spoke a lot aboutdifferent ways in which
spiritual themes are wavingthemselves into popular culture.

(05:04):
Dissected some, some movies andsome shows that.
I've seen.
That have hidden spiritualthemes in them.
One of the most recent ones thatI watched was Moana two.
Uh, it's just beautiful.
If you haven't seen it yet, Ihighly recommend there are some
gorgeous spiritual themes inthat one, too.

(05:25):
Which I will explore, um, nextyear.
And, you know, talked a lotabout what it means to be.
a, spiritual or conscioustherapist.
Um, and ways to integrate thatinto our.
therapy practice.
We talked about some of thosespiritual elements that, you

(05:45):
know, That really help us toconnect with this heightened
sense of perception and thathelp us ground ourselves in our
soul essence, like connectingwith experiences of awe and
wonder.
Talked about.
the differences between a truespiritual awakening and a
psychotic episode.

(06:08):
Uh, just being, there's justbeen so many incredible things
that we've spoken about thisyear, but by far the ones that I
cherish the most definitely.
The ones where I'm talking aboutthe research that's out there.
Um, And also the'Soulful Chats'segment.

(06:29):
Where we were able to talkthrough.
The psychologists experienceswith their personal journeys,
um, through their spiritualgrowth.
Um, some themes that reallystood out for me from those
conversations are howmotherhood.
Is such a.

(06:51):
A spiritual process in and ofitself.
And it can often be for people.
Uh, a catalyst to unleashingtheir connection with their
spiritual essence or.
Like opening the door for themto pursue their spirituality a
little bit more deeply and moreintentionally.
So I found it curious that morethan one.
Of my guests this year.

(07:11):
Spoke about that, the role thatspirituality or that motherhood
had in unlocking theirspirituality.
Um, so that was reallyfascinating.
You know, all the talks of howliving an authentic life is so
important.
In terms of our health in termsof our physical and our mental

(07:33):
health.
But also in terms of ourspiritual health.
The toll that it takes on oursoul.
For us too.
To suppress our authenticexpression.
Right?
The ways it disconnects us fromour intuition, from our higher
self.
And how did that.

(07:53):
Like think has detrimentalimpacts for our health.
One of the things that we spokeabout this year, Was the idea
that people pleasing, which is avery common.
Um, program that we developedgrowing up, particularly as
women.
Will disconnect us from ourauthentic expression and
consequently from our intuition.
And our higher self.

(08:15):
So all of these things werespoken about this year and.
I think if I had to choose topick.
Uh, Like a once in a singleword.
That sums up the essence of allthe things that we spoke about
this year.

(08:35):
It would absolutely beauthenticity.
You know, the idea that inliving authentically.
We allow ourselves to be moreintegrated and aligned in all
levels of our essence.
So our spiritual, our mental, emotional and our physical
levels, in order for them to bealigned.
We need to practice authenticliving, but also in practicing,

(08:58):
authentic living.
We.
We enable the integration ofthese four facets.
So I think in, you know, inidentifying.
In reflecting back on the yearand all the conversations that
we've been having.
So much of it boils down to thatbeing, allowing ourselves to
connect with our authenticessence to express authentic

(09:20):
essence, but also to celebrate.
Our authentic essence, we areall divine sparks.
Right.
We have our unique.
Offerings to the world.
Each of us has a unique.
Proposition, if you like forbeing here.
But we can't hear that.
We can't connect with that.

(09:42):
Unless we start allowingourselves to express.
Who we are.
Truly.
You know, authentically andconsistently.
You know, so many people getcaught in this idea of.
grappling with their purpose andwhy they're here.
And what is it that they'resupposed to do and the deeper
search for meaning?
I see this in my, in my clinic alot.

(10:06):
Um, and I think modern life hasdefinitely.
Been accelerating thesequestions for us.
Um, or leading us to have more, more of these questions.
And really the answer to all ofthat is, is that authenticity.
Isn't it?
And starting to strip back theways where we've been
conditioned.

(10:27):
To suppress our essence In orderto be liked, to you in order to
fit in.
Um, in order to achieve, youknow, so-called.
Success in.
Quotes So.
If I'm taking anything into 2025as a reflection of what 2024 has

(10:49):
brought to the surface for mepersonally, and through these
conversations, it definitely isliving a more authentic life.
You know, that's going to be oneof my words for 2025.
And I invite you to also connectwith your authentic expression
and start to allow yourself toshow yourself more fully.

(11:12):
And I get that.
It can be scary, particularly ifwe haven't been doing it for a
long time.
We might not even know who thatauthentic person is anymore.
Um, so starting really smallstanding in safe spaces.
You know, really starting totune into your body, connecting
with.
The different signals thatyou're pointing might be sending

(11:32):
you.
About, whether you're in asituation that's for you or that
you sort of really a good fit.
Our body has so many answers forus.
If we allow ourselves to tunein.
You know, feelings ofexpansiveness are always a
positive sign.
Kings of heaviness andconstruction are always a
cautionary sign.
So starting there tuning intothat in, but not just noticing,

(11:55):
listening to it, acting on it.
All right.
So I invite you to startexperimenting with that now that
we're starting to wind down forthe year, many of us are going
to have a little bit more space, potentially.
To to connect with ourselves.
I mean, I know that it's also acrazy time with EA.
So many, so many functions andkids are going to be at harm and

(12:18):
maybe it's not the best time.
But if you do, if you're able totake a little bit of time for
yourself to just start.
Putting into place, a littlepractice of connecting with
yourself, connecting with youressence.
Tuning into any impulses thatarise.
That feel true to you?
And allowing yourself to expressthat, playing with them and
seeing what happens.

(12:40):
I think that's such a lovely wayto lead into a new year.
Uh, for me personally, 2024 hasbeen, like I said, at a roller
coaster, it's been, there's beenso many fabulous things that
have.
Happened this year.
Uh, in.
You know, With my course, I, andhaving time to talk to.

(13:06):
Other psychologists that are.
Interested in understanding thespiritual concept of life.
How a spiritual practice canhelp them.
Themselves, but also theirclients, how we integrate that
ethically in 12.
Into our work as therapists.
I mean, I've been loving havingconversations around that and
the research base that'savailable.

(13:28):
But also just conversations onwhat it means to navigate life
from a.
A spiritual lens, right?
Like what it means to, toremember.
That we are souls first andforemost, having a physical
experience and how thatunderstanding can help us
navigate life with greater ease.

(13:49):
I'm sure you.
You might agree that it's been atough year.
There's been so many thingshappening worldwide.
In terms of conflicts and peoplesuffering and.
You know, lots of uncertaintywith.
Like economic crisises all overthe world and the cost of

(14:13):
living, taking a toll on people.
And, you know, it would be.
irresponsible and Intellectuallydishonest of me to suggest that
none of these things matter orthat they don't.
Um, impact.
Our experience of being human.
Of course they do.

(14:34):
And so I think it's veryimportant that we address those
issues too, that we don'tdismiss them or diminish them as
unimportant.
Uh, or as need to take a backseat, um, to.
You know, being spiritualizedand connecting with our
spiritual essence, I don't thinkthat's the case.

(14:54):
I think.
They go in tandem.
Because when we're in.
Physical existence.
Our souls reside in the humanbody and our human body has
needs.
that we need to, to attend to.
And I think again, authenticexpression, isn't just
connecting with also essence.
It's also tuning into what thehuman we are inhabiting needs.

(15:19):
So I invite you to, to reflecton that, you know, the ways in
which.
Your own individual challengesand they might be on a personal
level.
They might be the way that the.
The world.
Issues are impacting you.
It's definitely been a year orso many people struggling with
what's happening on that macrolevel.
Right.
We all have very strong emotionsaround.

(15:42):
What we're witnessing in theworld right now.
Oh, so in some cases feelingvery helpless.
To do anything positive about itin other ways.
You know, being reallygalvanized and energized to try
to do our part.
To, to improve circumstancesfor, for the, for the world at
large, or for people that aresuffering more than us.

(16:06):
So.
I think that unfortunately, these things are going to
continue next year, but this isan opportunity for us to really
start to reflect on.
Okay.
How we want to show up.
If I connect with my, my valuesand my authentic self, how do I
want to show up from the face ofall these challenges?
Um, it's been personally a verytough year for me.

(16:29):
There's been a lot of personal.
Issues that I've beennavigating.
In the background, which hasunfortunately also impacted my
ability to, to show up.
To the podcast as fully as Iwould have liked.
But.
I am a firm believer that in thechallenges there are always some
pearls of wisdom to be found.

(16:50):
Some lessons for our growth forour.
Enhancement.
And I will be exploring that alittle bit more next year.
Um, and talking through some ofthose personal journeys and
insights in more detail, becauseI do think that there are some
lessons in what I've beennavigating that will probably be

(17:13):
very pertinent to those of youlistening.
Like I said, I think.
Um, Whilst it's really importantand helpful for us to talk.
Ground ourselves in theknowledge that we are spiritual
beings.
Having a human existence.
It is also very, very importantthat we are armed with tools to

(17:34):
navigate this human existence.
That isn't easy.
So one of the changes thatyou'll see in the podcast thinks
she is that I will be speakingto themes that are much more
aligned with some of thechallenges we face as we
navigate human life.
Um, and the tools that will helpus navigate that, particularly

(17:54):
from that spiritual lens, howhaving a spiritual lens.
Will help us navigate those, those challenges more fully.
So you can be on the lookout forthose episodes.
That will probably be one of thebiggest changes.
I am going to continue talkingthrough some of the emerging
research that comes up.
Um, as obviously you have a hugepassion of mine, so you can
expect more episodes aroundemerging research.

(18:17):
There's some fascinating onesthat I've already flagged for
discussion for next year.
Um, and I will continue as wellwith the soulful chats segment.
Sharing with you.
Some of the experiences that myfellow therapists and
psychologists have beennavigating through their own
journey with their spiritualselves and their integration of

(18:39):
that spirituality into theirwork.
But I also hope to be bringingon some people who.
Aren't necessarily psychologistswho might have other types of
health backgrounds or who mightjust be, um, Yeah, human beings,
navigating the world and havefound the spirituality has been
a really helpful tool for them.

(19:01):
so I really look forward tosharing more of that with you
next year.
I thank you so much for yoursupport for tuning into this
episode for sharing the episodesthroughout the year, and yeah.
Really helping this endeavor togrow and, and getting front of
more people.
I'm very, very grateful.
And I look forward to continuingthis process with.

(19:25):
You all next year.
Okay.
And just continue to, to buildon the conversations that we've
had.
And just continue to serve andadd value in the way that I can.
Um, You know, I've reflected alot on the way that I can serve.
Some of the challenges that arehappening in the world right
now.
From my very limited one personperspective and position.

(19:46):
Um, And I feel like thisplatform is probably one of the
best ways that I can do that.
So I'll be speaking a lot more.
On on these issues and how inhopefully to give you tools.
Um, and insights that will makelife a whole little bit easier
to navigate.
But also to stark.
You know, creating a tinyripple.

(20:08):
Um, of.
I guess positive change of.
Reminding us who we really arereconnecting ourselves.
A sense, but also reconnectingus to each other.
I think we're, you know, we, weneed to start connecting to each
other with love.
And compassion again, if we haveany hope of turning the tide.

(20:29):
Of everything that we've beenwitnessing this year.
So I am so grateful.
And again, um, I wish all ofyou.
Oh, Beautiful end of yearfestive season.
However you celebrate that youmay be celebrating with your
loved ones.
That you may be safe.
And I look forward to seeing youall again, in the new year, I
