and others, whilst also pavingthe way for humanity at large to
be reimagined and inspired tobecome the very best version of
itself.
(00:49):
Hello, and welcome to theintegrated wisdom podcast.
Thank you so much for joining mefor yet another week.
Today or this week I amcelebrating.
One year of this podcast, we'vefinally reached that first
anniversary milestone and I amso excited.
Because if you had told me.
(01:09):
Let's say 18 months ago.
That I would have had a podcastfrom talking about spirituality.
And I would've kept it going fora year.
I would have probably laughed atyou.
Um, it was certainly somethingthat I was the idea of.
It was terrifying.
But, you know, It's just beenthe most magical experience.
(01:31):
And that's why today I thought.
For this milestone week.
I would do just a shortretrospective episode.
Highlighting some of myfavorite.
episodes from the last 12months.
And also some of the listenersfavourites for the last 12
months.
And then talk a little bit aboutwhat's coming next.
(01:54):
My original intent.
With this podcast was to startshining a light on the spiritual
nature of life.
And start combining that withthe scientific evidence that's
emerging.
Uh, to show all the differentspiritual elements that are
around us.
With the hope.
(02:14):
We now are starting to have moreconversations like these with
people.
Starting to illuminate howhaving that spiritual
connection.
Or that, that, um, Recognitionor remembrance.
That there is a larger contextat play.
Around everything that we dohell.
Having that awareness can helpus navigate life with greater
(02:39):
ease.
Life can be so challenging attimes.
And.
Uh, recognizing or remembering.
That there is more behind all ofthis.
Than meets the eye, I think canbe so helpful for people.
And the science has been showingthat very categorically.
The more connected we are with,uh, an awareness of.
(03:03):
Something.
Larger than ourselves.
And awareness that.
We are supported by a higherbeing.
However you want to think of it.
That, that awareness, that feltsense.
Has immense protective effectsfor a range of mental health
conditions for.
(03:25):
general human suffering.
I think.
And in gives us tools and waysto.
To navigate the day-to-daychallenges.
with a little bit more ease.
And.
As I've been going through.
The podcast and the episodes.
It's been very heartwarming forme to see.
(03:49):
What's resonating with thelisteners, how there is a hunger
for people to know more aboutspirituality.
And in particular, I think, youknow, as a psychologist, It's
something that I've always hadin the background.
I was always afraid of.
Speaking about more openly.
And.
This process of the podcast andputting these conversations out
(04:12):
there.
Has allowed me to connect withso many other psychologists and
therapists.
Who feel the same, who arespiritually minded who are
already.
You know, in indirect ways, incorporating spirituality in
the work that they do in the waythat they navigate life.
And it's been.
(04:32):
Very comforting.
I think to know that one I'm notalone.
And I think for them as well,Just start to recognize that
there are so many more of us.
And I think it's really curiouswhen I look at the last few
months with last 12 months.
Some themes definitely seem toattract peoples attention But
for me, I have a few episodes ofme.
(04:53):
I love them all.
But I definitely have a fewepisodes that I personally feel
are really exciting.
In terms of the possibilitiesthat there is, they're pointing
to.
In that process of sciencestarting to catch up.
With the understanding thatthere is a larger context to
(05:14):
life, that there's more to thisthan just, you know, the
material things that we can seeand measure.
And One of the episodes thatreally starts to highlight this
for me.
Is the episode that I, I, Ipublished.
In mid December last year titled'You only live once or do you?',
(05:35):
where I start talking about theamazing science of
reincarnational memories ofchildren, this scientific
studies that have been amassedat the University of Virginia
since 1960.
They have amassed a huge body ofstudies on children all over the
(05:55):
world.
Who remember their past lives orhave you lived here previously?
And, you know, in this.
Body of case study said.
Exceeds 2000 cases.
About 50% of those cases wereobjectively verified.
They were able to prove that allthe.
(06:16):
The descriptions and, um, Nair.
Contexts that the child hadprovided.
We're true or they were, theywere corporating people or
accounts that matched what thechild was remembering in
describing.
And so I think that's prettyexciting.
It's a very robust body of work,right?
(06:36):
It has been going on for thelast 60 years.
Um, Or more.
So I think for me, that's areally exciting episode that
starts to really support thisnarrative.
That science is starting todemonstrate the spiritual nature
of life.
I think another one that Ireally loved.
Was, um, an episode that I didback in July last year.
(07:00):
So almost a year ago, right?
Really early on in the piece.
Episode 10.
Where I spoke about the emergingscience that was showing how
having a spiritual perspectiveto life was helping people
navigate life with greater ease.
It's episode 10.
That was titled'How Having aMore Spiritual Perspective to
(07:21):
Life can help us transcendsuffering and navigate life with
greater ease', where I starttalking about the research and
some of the things that.
Um, science is starting todemonstrate, right.
And how People who havespiritual perspectives or have.
Better quality relationships.
(07:42):
are able to demonstrate greaterlevels of happiness, greater
levels of resilience, greaterimmune systems.
And a, Buffer and to developingmental health problems.
So that's a really excitingepisode where again, the science
and spirituality, are startingto kind of realize that they're
(08:04):
actually a natural friends.
Um, One episode that I reallyloved to do that doesn't really
quote the science so much, but Ithought it was really.
Um, Just demonstrated theconcepts so beautifully was my
episode.
In all on the 1st of August.
Episode 11.
(08:24):
Where I spoke about thesurprising themes of the Barbie
movie that were a spiritual.
You know, last year it wascomplete Barbie mania.
Everybody was talking about thatmovie, it truly is a beautiful
movie.
I loved it.
But when, you know, When Iwatched it and I watched it
twice.
The.
(08:45):
The spiritual themes that emergein that movie, I thought were so
well done.
And so that's an episode that Iabsolutely loved doing.
Because it gave me something.
Concrete that I could point to,uh, in terms of being able to
illustrate these concepts.
So that was a really fun one forme to do.
(09:05):
Uh, Another episode that Ireally loved to do and it's not
really science-based either, butwhat again is peaks to that
philosophical discussion.
Then thinking about spiritualthemes can bring to the surface.
Was an episode I did on the 13thof September, titled'Destiny
(09:26):
versus Freewill, where I startto talk about.
the spiritual concept of howmuch of what we have to go
through life is predetermined,is set in stone; versus how much
is influenced by our freewill ordirected by our freewill.
I think that's, uh, a commonquestion for a lot of people.
When they're pondering.
(09:47):
Their lives, theircircumstances, their choices.
And so I really enjoyed doingthat episode.
I thought it was.
Um, it helped to shine a lighton this conversation.
And perhaps.
And demonstrate.
How these very nuanced, but veryclever process of balancing
things that absolutely.
(10:08):
We must go through.
But the element of choice andfreewill that we have in how we
experienced some of thesethings.
So, if you haven't listened tothat episode, yet I encourage
you to.
And let me know what you think.
And.
Gosh, there was so many episodesthat I really loved.
You know, I did an episode inNovember on the 29th of November
(10:30):
last year, where I spoke about'How to spot a False Spiritual
Teacher', and I feel that.
You know, that was a, anepisode.
I felt very passionate aboutdoing.
Because so many people who seekspiritual support.
Um, in what I'm talking about, spirituality in this context, I
am not talking, I'm not talkingabout religion necessarily
(10:51):
though.
Some times.
These things can happen within areligious context too.
But a lot of the time peoplewill seek those sorts of
supports.
When they're really sufferingwhen they're really vulnerable.
And unfortunately, there arequite a few people out there who
are very predatory andexploitative with these
(11:11):
vulnerable people and use theirspiritual hunger against them.
To exploit them for financialgain to exploit them for sexual
gain.
You know, this there's somehorrific examples that we can,
I'm sure all of us can think of.
Of people who have becomeinvolved in.
(11:32):
You know, spiritual, what, uh,organizations or spiritual
leaders or teachers who in theend turned out to be.
Quite, uh, Quite predatory.
And what I would term a falseteacher, a false spiritual
teacher.
So I think.
You know, that was one of myfavorite episodes to do, because
(11:53):
it really highlights the need.
For, for discernment, for us tobe very aware of what feels
right or what feels wrong or nothaving your boundaries violated.
Now identify those early warningsigns that maybe this.
The person or the service thatwe're engaging with, isn't
(12:14):
actually for our highest good.
And I think I'll share one moreof my favorite episodes in this
is again, back to the scienceand it's one that blew my mind
away and really, really excitedme.
'cause it started to hint atscience's ability to demonstrate
the existence of the souloutside of the body.
(12:36):
And that was the episode ofdate.
On the 31st of January, that wascalled'The Superposition of the
Soul Exploring Quantum BiologyFindings on Consciousness'.
That episode.
Was so exciting for me becausethe article that.
Inspired it.
Was groundbreaking scienceright.
Started to demonstrate the factthat consciousness doesn't
(12:57):
happen in the brain.
It's started to demonstrate someof these concepts that we speak
about in quantum mechanics orspiritual, spheres of the
non-locality of consciousness.
And the movement of souls frombeing points of energy, to waves
of energy.
This, you know, it was really, really, really exciting.
(13:18):
for me.
That, a scientific, Study.
It was starting to demonstratethese very, very conclusively.
Uh, and it's only the beginning, right?
Cause I think from here more andmore bodies of work will start
showing up to, to confirm theseand explain it even more.
So, if you haven't listened tothat episode, I highly highly
(13:39):
recommend that you do.
Eh, the, the science is it'struly groundbreaking, and paints
the future.
That's coming.
So.
I could keep going.
But I won't, but these are someof my absolute favorite episodes
from the past 12 months.
(14:00):
And if you haven't yet listenedto them, I highly recommend that
you do.
I'll add links to all theepisodes that I mentioned in the
show notes for ease of access.
And if this is your first timeto the podcast.
Then maybe those are some reallygreat episodes to start with as
well.
Just so you can get a bit of aflavor of the sorts of things
(14:21):
that I'm talking about here.
But what's been interesting interms of what you listen is have
been really gravitating towardsthis year.
I started doing, um, interviewswith other psychologists.
Who are spiritual or spirituallyinclined.
And having conversations withthem about their journeys with
spirituality.
And, um, how they may.
(14:44):
Find different ways toincorporate it into their work.
Either overtly or indirectly.
And it seems to be somethingthat everyone's really loving to
listen to.
My episodes that have beeninterviews, um, have gone into a
lot of attention, a lot ofinterests.
So I would definitely be doingmany more of those interviews
(15:06):
moving forward.
So now as I'm moving to thesecond year, I'll I'll be
focusing a lot more oninterviewing other individuals
and speaking to them about theirspiritual journeys and how it's
helped them.
But by far, one of the mostpopular episodes that has been
my episode on the Hawaiianforgiveness ritual.
there seems to be a lot ofinterest in.
(15:29):
In that topic or that modality.
Another topic that reallyresonated for people was the
conversation I had early inMarch about'How People Pleasing
Undermines Your Intuition'.
That was really popular for alot of listeners.
And more recently the episode onawe and wonder as well, and the
(15:50):
protective benefits for mentalor physical health has been
really popular.
So I'll be having more of theseconversations.
I'll be bringing you more ofthese episodes to the table.
But in this coming new year.
Uh, there'll be a few littletweaks to the podcast.
Like I said, where I'll behaving a heavier emphasis on my
(16:11):
Soulful Shats.
There'll be more of thoseconversations.
If you're interested in.
Coming on the podcast.
And speaking about your ownspiritual journey.
Uh, I'd love to hear from you.
You're welcome to email me athello@integratedwisdom.com.au.
and we can have a chat and seeif it would be a good fit for
(16:32):
the conversations that we'rehaving.
But that's it.
It's been a wonderful year.
Uh, I've loved every second ofit.
I'm excited for what this nextyear will bring.
And I just wanted to thank eachand every one of you who has
been following me along thisjourney.
Either from the very beginningor if you have joined halfway.
All of you are so welcome and Iam so, so grateful for your
(16:55):
support.
For your interest in theseconversations.
And yeah, I look forward tohaving many, many more in the
next 12 months and beyond.
I will be taking a little breaknext week just to put in place
some of the tweaks that I'mtalking about that I'd like to
do to the podcast.
(17:17):
But also, I'll be away with myfellow Soul-led, mission-driven.
psychologists and therapists,we'll be catching up next week
